I am thinking today about the meaning of suffering, and the diverse trials humans experience.
What is the point
#I know the supposed point but I do not know the reason for some#I know that God is a God that abides by laws and law cannot stop no matter how hard we pray#the same law that saved and blesses one can create great suffering for another#blessed are the hungry but they do not feel blessed when they cannot feed their skeletal toddler and they starve to slow death#the law of gravity is a blessing we take for granted#but it doesn’t feel like a blessing when someone falls from a great height#God put suffering here so we can grow and learn and refine ourselves to become better#but how can a life in an iron lung teach anyone anything#religion#accumulatalks#I suppose the answer lies somewhere beyond death#suffering must be a law unto itself#and after death I know you continue to exist and have purpose and growth you don’t simply sit on a cloud and be happy#maybe certain kinds of suffering is there so you can empathize with those who had similar pain and minister to them#2023

I am on episode 12. I’m really glad they’re bringing back previous characters and seem to maybe(?) be picking up a larger background plot. I think that’s neat. Anyway here’s a short list of all the recurring characters I’ve spotted so far:
Episode 4 and 12: Edmond LaValle. Aka “the fire insurance agent guy.” He’s the narrator of episode 4 and his twin sister (Addison LaValle) is the narrator of episode 12. He meets with her for a few minutes.
Episode 6 and 10: The character in question doesn’t make a personal appearance in either of these episodes, but he is the main subject of both. In #6 he’s referred to as “The King,” in #10 he is “The Watcher.”
Both of these connections are easy to miss if you aren’t watching closely. I’m only on episode 12. I hope this list will expand more later.

Episodes 9 and 10 of Unseen are both great, in different ways. Wow I love them.

Slight update on my moons list. I was looking through my old astronomy notes and was extremely disappointed to find that I did not take notes on the different moons, which sucks because I specifically remember loving that lecture. I must’ve been in a rush that week.
So I will rewatch the lecture! I’m excited. I’ll try to get at least halfway done before this weekend.
Alright goal for this week: finally make a list of all my favorite moons and then post it, because moons are freakin cool

I think the point can only be understood by those who experience it, and even then you can never understand the reason. You just know how it changed you, for better or for worse.
I am thinking today about the meaning of suffering, and the diverse trials humans experience.
What is the point
#I cannot understand that which I don’t experience#I could project my own assumptions on others experiences but I will be wrong#someone who starves may grow more empathetic and increase in appreciation#or they might become bitter until death#I do not know and I cannot know the meaning or result of their suffering#accumulatalks#2023
