AccounThink: The Ride.

It was certainly not smooth, but the journey was worth the ride and we had a blast, or did we?

The starting point of the business was critical for our venture. There were numerous options to evaluate. Various challenges were anticipated like whether we would opt to provide a product or a service, should the scope of our venture cover the whole university, the college, or our department. But perhaps, the most significant issue our team faced was pinpointing a specific problem that we may provide a solution with. Initially, the team wanted a problem that was related to accounting or finance. And so to get there, we condensed the respondents from the survey we were to conduct for students from the Department of Accountancy. Most of the respondents answered accounting as the very problem they encounter during college life. How fortunate.

After overcoming the biggest obstacle during the startup, just when we thought everything would go smoothly another set of problems occurred. About the time we decided to have an accounting tutorial, we were torn between having an application or a website. An application would be more convenient as opposed to a website since one will not have to use a browser, but we are giving up a less costly option. See the point is both choices have their own advantages and setbacks. We would go neck and neck with one's opinion. Eventually, we figured it out. During the presentation day, we were left with no choice, but to decide. I remember it was funny, the chance was fifty-fifty, but we made the right decision.

Under extreme pressure, we were able to decide. After days of pondering which path to take, we finally did it. It was a discovery for us. To have practiced being prepared in the past, as students from the Accountancy Department, we decided last minute. I reckon it did not help us in the long run. The team would do this, deciding last minute, for the rest of the presentations ahead, it eventually caught up to us during the last pitching. Just when we thought we had finally learned another skill, it led to our own downfall.

A realization hit me after the final pitching as an aspiring entrepreneur. I have no talent for it, and I was not able to contribute as much as I should have using my knowledge of accounting which I take pride in. We planned on creating a venture that would teach accounting and yet we were not able to apply it during the final pitching. The accounting was ironically not as sophisticated as it should have been coming from a team that wanted to teach it. We had a collective reflection on that matter. One might say we flopped that final pitching, but we learned something in return. I said I have no talent as an entrepreneur, all I have is the humility to be one. Although the destination was not as pleasant, the lessons we acquired during the journey are perhaps to be used in another ride.

FINally

Looking back, we started our venture in a really chaotic procedure. No actual flow of plan, practicality is slim, and too much ideas resulting to messy plan. But now, we've successfully passed our online accounting tutorial venture, AccounThink, which is a really good experience. I still remembered the time when we struggled so much about how to prove our credibility in teaching basic accounting to others when we are still an accounting students. Well, at the end we still managed to prove but with the help of some seniors we knew who passed CPALE.

In the process of overcoming the struggle we faced, we've experienced setbacks like identifying our credibility to the point of forcing our little-to-none credibility to teach other students like us. It will surely resulted our venture to have a reject remark if it was not addressed and solved in the next presentation. Thankfully, we managed to solve such problem and made up a solution in which the credibility of our service can be acknowledged.

Our experience in entrepreneurial minds is a priceless one. We managed to discover skills that we did not expect to have and also skills that is better to just be hidden. For me, I managed to develop a skill for presenting and making a presentation. Such discovery may change my hobbies and confidence in some ways, and it is thanks for our venture.

Now reflecting on my experiences in entrepreneurial minds. From the moment we first created our team until our last pitching, I learned a few things that I may use in the future if ever I decided I want to create a business. Some of this few things I learned is that in entrepreneurship, what matters the most is attracting customers because if your product is a life-changing product you cannot attract customers, you will never gain sales. Lastly, I learned that I still need to make improvements in some areas that involves the revenue and costs which is one of the most important thing in business.

AccounThink: An Online Accounting Tutorial Platform

Students today confront considerable hurdles, such as limited resources, time management issues, and the need for academic support. Our investigation into these prevalent problems among ABM and College students taking basic accounting revealed these important areas. To meet these needs, we are starting an online accounting teaching business. This effort seeks to give focused assistance and resources to help students overcome obstacles and achieve academic achievement.

Through our online surveys and interactions with students, we have gathered valuable insights into the difficulties they experience in their academic path. For example, one student brought up a significant issue: a lack of resources. This deficiency has hampered his capacity to comprehend the content and excel in his studies. Another student stated that managing her time properly is a significant challenge, as she tries to combine the demands of both school and job. A third student highlighted the need for a learning partner to assist her in navigating academic hurdles and improving her knowledge of the course material.

To address these frequent concerns, we conducted a comprehensive online poll among accounting and business management students. The findings revealed that time management remains a common challenge for students, exacerbated by challenges understanding accounting principles. In response to these findings, we decided to start an online accounting teaching business. This effort is intended to not only earn revenue, but also to provide vital aid to students dealing with these challenges.Our approach was meticulous: we conducted online and face-to-face surveys, estimated the required money for the business, and assessed the feasibility of our business concept. By carefully evaluating these variables, we hope to design a helpful educational platform that effectively meets students' requirements and contributes to their academic achievement.

To summarize, our survey into the difficulties encountered by ABM and College students taking basic accounting has highlighted the need for improved resources, time management tactics, and academic support. By launching an online accounting lesson business, we hope to directly address these difficulties and equip students with the skills they need to excel academically. We are devoted to providing significant assistance to students as they manage their educational hurdles and achieve their academic objectives.

21 January 2017 | 10:00 My morning consisted of a iced vanilla latte & a daiso haul 📒 i legit sat in my car for half an hour because they weren't open yet. I was hoping they would have loose leaf graph paper but they only had line paper ☹️ i was also looking at the washi tape & sticky notes but they weren't that cute. Hopefully there are cuter ones at a different daiso. I'm probably going to look for them later. i'm also trying to look for a laptop sleeve. I need one because I don't want to use my sister's and i want a cuter one lol. Starting a new term on Monday & I'm pretty excited. Transferring to a new school will be different but I'll adjust 👌🏼

AccounThink: If there is accounting, there is thinking.

In search of a way to help accounting students from Central Mindanao University, our team, through capitalizing Google forms, conducted a survey. The same was used to pinpoint a common problem among the respondents. Accounting itself was a common denominator in all the responses.

The team has come to an agreement, creating an online accounting tutorial. We hypothesized that it would help the respondents in their studies. As proposed by our instructor, we are still students and credibility is key. It was initially planned to have the tutorials from senior high school to second-year students, but we opted to focus on basic accounting. With this the target consumers shrunk to ABM students, first-year accounting students, and students with an accounting course.

Although creating an app was an option, it was agreed that such tutoring would be done through a website. By this, the cost of the business is reduced, thus a possibility of profits being higher. Profits aside, the website will include video tutorials, problem sets, a comment section where further discussions may be done, etc.

The ride taught us lessons. Having to share the same sentiment with the respondents, we tailored our solution accordingly, or at least that's what the team thinks. To have the opportunity to also reflect on the things we could have done during that stage, to build a good foundation, is also something else.
