I think I'm one of the few M4F audio roleplay/boyfriend ASMR channels that consistently passes the Bechdel Test lmao. It's not something I ever set out to do, I just think it's funny.
Bechdel passing scenes: - Episode 3 of Against the World: AK-4'7" and Asset plan their attack while Walter is held prisoner off screen. - Episodes 3 and 5 of The Neon Barbarian: Raven's conversation in the elevator with Acid Rain and Raven's conversation in the record room with Dannie - All three episodes of Neon Wings (Raven's PTSD meltdown, the airport check in scene and taxi ride, Raven's conversation with the nurse at the hospital) - Episode 4 of My Greasefire Life: the women's restroom scene - Episode 3 and 5 of Blue Infinity: When Francesca takes Lass hostage and when Lily explains the treasures of Neptune while Fletcher is asleep. - Episode Six of Chronus Seven: Sydney gives her vengeful speech to Future Wife while Benji is presumed dead. - Episode Five of Matador Gothic: Carmen discusses the consequences of vampirism with Guest. - Episode Four of Der Wolfsjäger: Schäfer's encounter with Irene in the woods.
I think there's more that I'll probably remember later but still. I know the Bechdel test is a super arbitrary test based on a joke, but I still find this amusing because I can't think of many others that pass it so consistently.

when cullen rutherford's voice actor went on that in-character anti feminist rant on twitter i'm surprised he didn't quote that time he got accidentally murdered in that one episode of dexter because dexter thought he was a serial woman killer when really he was just a regular misogynist as if it were a real thing that happened to him
#maybe he did idk i cant remember half the stuff he said because me and my friend were laughing so hard#thank you feminist king dexter morgan for that one time you accidentally killed cullen rutherford#dexter rewatch

Porn in our culture is so normalized I don't think this person even realizes it. There's hentai games on sale on the front page of Steam. Half of our music videos are softcore porn. There's nothing to inverse here because the same people who "bat an eye" at sex are probably also not into the gratuitous violence either. Just because the mainstream does include more explicit violence than explicit sex, it still includes....alot of explicit and implicit sex. The idea of sex. Women on a platter.
The last line also insinuates that the inverse, "watching sex would be a weird and loser-ish thing to do" is what's currently true. GOD. I wish it was!! I wish!!!

As someone who engages a lot with fantasy/sci-fi/horror media, one of the worst tropes I see again and again is the "this entire group of people is inherently evil".
The fact that it's so easily accepted, particularly in DnD and related environments, is deeply unsettling, particularly because of how much of it stems from racism (and other "isms"). Beyond the horrible implications of this concept, it makes stories far less nuanced and interesting.
I much prefer stories where evil is something on a societal or individual basis rather than inherent, since it allows us to explore why this evil came about. Exploring how propaganda, tradition, dogma, ect., might shape a society is far more interesting than just going "they're all born evil".
This certainly is not limited to DnD, just as someone who runs modules to practice encounter balancing, and has run 5e for people used to the rigid alignment system of earlier editions, you get reminded of this quite a lot in that space. There's a bunch of people talking about New Phyrexia in similar contexts, and while I don't feel like I know enough about the story to toss my hat into the ring, I will always be an advocate for nuance. Particularly when a lack of nuance means that "this group is inherently evil" accidentally ends up demonizing aspects of a very real group of marginalized people (as it often does).
Again, much more informed people than I have talked about this subject at greater length. All I can say as someone who's been in the fantasy/sci-fi/horror space for pretty much all of my life, I feel like there's certain standards that we really shouldn't accept as such, since they really don't have to be. In most cases, stories are more interesting when nuance is involved.
#every time i see a queer/feminist/POC reimagining of something that was horribly fumbled i gain back years of my life#so proud of modern eldritch horror podcasts for this tbh#at least the ones i listen to#i don't like posting my opinions online since i'm terrified of being misconstrued or accidentally ignoring something crucial to a topic#but i thought i'd weigh in because it's important to me and relevant to things i draw/rb art for so#not art#text post

'Classic radblr authors' and not just 'radfem authors' because not all of them are/were radfems, but they are feminist authors popular here :) If you've read feminist literature before reading any of the authors mentioned, pick the first radfem reading. If not, pick the first 'general' / second wave feminist reading!
#polls#sorry if your fave isn't here - it's limited to 10 options and those are the authors i felt we mention the most here#radical feminism#radfem#radical feminists please touch#radical feminists please interact#radfems please touch#radfem please touch#radfems please interact#radicalit.op#posting this again because last time i accidentally set it for only 24h duration and forgot to use tags so it reached like no one#which frankly made it even funnier that someone sent a bitter anon abt these authors clearly trying to bait an angry response from me#because like. they had to actively search for it. it didnt appear in any tags other than my personal one lmaoo

everyday im thinking about the fact mint probably wouldn't fully get feminism for a bit because to him its like why would people NOT respect and love women??
#he was raised by magnolia in. the middle of the woods. meaning he ONLY had female figures for the first 10 years of his life#and then he had dove!#obviously he would've encountered. men. in the city but.#those first ten years were his formative years. its sort of hard to get out of that mindset afterwards;;#meaning hes stuck eternally with not understanding misogyny because WHY would anyone treat women like that?? huh???#which also causes an issue because. holy shit mint. that silver thread conversation. -> BUT BESIDES THAT.#-> thank you to magnolia for raising the biggest accidental feminist ever holy shit#mint#malachy#i dont even know anymore.#symbiosis & silver thread#symbiosis

i like rng horror pod and i enjoy their analysis most of the time. but i really wish someone would sit them down and explain the entire history of 70s feminism
#like i genuinely think they believe feminism wasnt invented until after they were born or somethin#bc they are so not equipped to talk about so many of these classic 70s feminist horrors#they act like these depictions of misogyny are probably accidental.#or like theyre pulling a fast one on the movie by liking & sympathizing w the female lead as if that wasnt the entire point#avpost#sorry i just love this era and its like. so unsubtle about its themes and politics#i promise you the movie where the men are all oppressive and shitty toward a sympathetic female lead. did that on purpose.

i for sure have male privilege as a trans guy in spaces where i am not stealth, like in trans safe spaces and at home with family members and at work. the way women are treated is atrocious
The thing I have consistently run into is the part where my stealth fails and I become the ugly woman again, like the stealth was already a tightrope I was tripping over myself on and having to omit any details of my own personal life (not something anyone should be required to do) and then somehow some way it comes out to people and it's like you can just sense the shift. Not everyone I'll give them some credit, some people have been great.
But it's like yeah it just doesn't....it's built on such a slippery foundation and to me personally I don't feel that it's ever gotten me taken much more seriously than before, because people still infantilise me, they treat me like a little boy at 25 bc of the way I look. I still get "mansplained" everything but this time in a weirdly paternal way
Like whatever amount of macho posturing or natural masculine rizz you need to make privilege work for you is something I mostly lack. Not to say I don't get any benefits at all, but many things just don't feel like they really changed from before. It's ways in which being a woman either didn't apply to me because I lacked the femininity for it or ways where being a man didn't apply to me because I lacked the masculinity
#that being said Yeah the way women are treated IS atrocious#so when you get pushed back into that category.....i mean...do da math#i was already in a weird limbo because of my family that is sort of accidentally feminist if that makes sense#like theres a lot of good bones there but theyre also just kind of oblivious and confused and just....idk#its hard to explain#so id get some things where it was very progressive and some where it was like Shave Your Legs Right Now Or Youre Nothing#i never really had that fear of getting got at night or any of that paranoia women are encouraged to have#i did feel pushed into hyperfemininity from seeing how much comparatively better you got treated#even with its many drawbacks that negated most of that#i dont know. i think we still talk about gender like we all had the same experiences across the board#even in trans spaces#but thats just not true

I wanna talk about the bit in punk hazard when Zoro could have very easily killed Monet but chooses not to.
Now I’m saying Zoro’s a feminist, but I don’t think his reason for not killing her is because he was being sexist.
I think it was because of Sanji.
Think about it. Sanji just ran right past them. Imagine how upset he would be if Zoro killed a woman. Zoro and Sanji don’t always get along but they’re still friends and I think they’re probably willing to be considerate of each other’s feelings when it’s something important like that.
#one piece#roronoa zoro#black leg sanji#The way people have such different opinions about Zoro and women is really funny to me#because like#some people think he’s like#the god of feminism#and some people think he’s a raging misogynist#there’s gotta be some room for nuance#it seems to me like he was more of an accidental feminist as a kid#but he might’ve absorbed some kind of sexist ideas as he got older#I definitely don’t think he’s the horrible misogynist some people make him out to be#not a feminist#but definitely a lot less sexist then some other characters

I'll never understand terfs. These woman are in the same boat as us like the hate is sooooo misdirected.
#and if ever the case where a trans woman says something misogynistic or just educate them??? instead of being a prick#cis woman(even ones not trying to be antifeminist) will accidentally say something with a misogynistic background#and you're not claiming they aren't “real woman” please get real#feminism#feminist

meta writers/GA with even basic media literacy/Jeremy "she's not your romance she's your Kryptonite" Carver/Jensen "[delivered-this-quote]" Ackles when the bitter™ assclowns still don't get the point of Dean and Amara
#even before you get into destiel (which this arc 110% supports) you'd have to be Really stupid to think it was meant as romance#like ignoring surface-level text stupid which I am Jack's complete lack of surprise#bruh it's lampooning how unnatural/forced it'd be to introduce a female character this late-stage to be his satellite love interest#which the writers never reduced women to but apparently the foremost feminists of anti-fandom better remedy by doing it themselves#people w the shallowest grasp on Destiel/SPN are most convinced its brilliance was accidental/their idea. completely obsessed with the symbolism in right wingers who idolize people like james dean and marilyn monroe. it's such a perfect image of how they will believe any carefully crafted lie, even when it doesn't take more than an observant eye to see the truth underneath. it says so much about their lack of critical thinking, and their inability to recognize a curated public persona. the way james dean was queer, and surrounded himself with queer people and people of color, and other marginalized people, in a time where this could literally break you. but they see the image of him wearing smart jeans, smoking cigarettes and driving fast cars, so they have convinced himself this is what a Manly Man is and should be. even if he also openly did ballet, and read philosophy books with his cat in his lap, and made it a point to learn to do his own makeup. same with marilyn how they put her on this pedestal as The Woman and at the same time scream about how "the family unit is endangered", when marilyn chose to work during every one of her marriages, and she negotiated fair contracts not just for herself but for other women, and she supported unions and defended queer people and people of color, and very publicly was seen with them. she knew how to fix her own car, and - same as jimmy - read books about human kindness too complex for these people to even comprehend. how does it feel knowing you're choosing lies every day of your life, because you see shiny things and believe they're gold
#i accidentally followed a right winger for a week on ig because she was all about marilyn#but then she made one post and i dug into her follow list#yikes that was gross#anyway jimmy and marilyn would most likely both have been on the streets with queer people and people of color and feminists#if they had been here today#they would have hated you#and it only takes five minutes of surface reading to figure that out#don't even get me started on natalie wood lol

Hi hello
Please please please please please
Tell me more about your X-men and Matilda crossover I BEG OF YOU
first of all i love u so much for asking. forehead kisses for u.
so. inception of this was i was watching matilda and was like "she's literally just a mutant. she has a mutation. because she's a mutant" and then spiralled for abt 32 seconds and then floated to the back of my brain as Accepted Canon.
general plot idea (plot bunny free to good home) is that the whole movie of Matilda happens, right? roll credits. post credits scene: magneto and prof x* show up and r like "that kid is a mutant in a weird little gap in custody" and bc magneto is Like That hes like "we shall take the child by force so she doesnt grow up alone :)" (he sees no issue with this)
but ofc miss honey is like "????? wtf go home homos???" (she is also gay, more on this later) bc she loves matilda!! thats her little guy!!! she JUST got her from the -pound- shitty home situation!!! besides these guys are suspicious as FUCK (telepath who has been making weird middle-distance stares while he talks to his bf in his head and a guy with a fucking purple cape in broad daylight)!!! she says, firmly, "no go fuck urselves"
(matilda also says, firmly, "no go fuck urselves" bc she knows abt stranger danger)
but erik lensherr magnetois still Like That so hes like "no :))) we insist :))))))" but prof x is like "ok alright then lemme deescalate this. how does a tour of our prestigious school's lovely campus sound? :) we cater to gifted students :) matilda would fit right in :)"
and miss honey is like "its much less threatening when ur smile only has one mouth yea sure lets go see the school :)"
(matilda is very much Feeling Charles Enter Her Brain, and is trying to both a. get him to stop that and b. do it back at him)
so they go to school. this is 1993, meaning most of the OG X-men are young adults starting to become a team/take on missions/etc. key point: im going with a rough approximation of canon and make the characters whatever age i fucking feel like. so scott summers is around matilda's age and his dad/older brother(undecided, canon iffy), alex summers is around miss honey's age (for the parallels!!) at your suggestion, storm will be a young adult gay as fuck w miss honey (homophobia toggled false for this universe bc i dont feel like it). wolverine will be wolverine age (i will be fucking with canon so he can be at this party). jean gray will be sane. etc.
and uhhhhh everyone is gay and matilda will save a us politician of my choosing from slaughter bc the blood would scare her new friend scott but will then lock this man in his head so detrimentally and permanently that charles xavier gives her a pat on the back and a candied orange peel.
and miss honey gets to (say) fuck.
*u may be wondering why notorious rivals charles 'prof x' xavier and erik 'magneto' lensherr are showing up to get matilda together. i could give u such a long answer but the short answer is willful denial and the end credits scene of dark pheonix
#dont be confused and watch the MOVIE dark pheonix that shit was awful in the way that they tried so hard to be casually feminist#that it accidentally somehow looped back around to the equivalent of a sleeping beauty retelling#it also had the production quality of a middle-school film project or perhaps a marvel movie#just the end credits is fine#also pls gimme ideas for this i think art is collaborative#x men#matilda#crossover fanfic#if ur still here u should ask me abt my x men timeline thoughts and why they would show up together#ill recreate tjlc with xmen dont even fucking test me
