#about: azutara week 2024

Azutara week: day 4, pregnancy

1 & 2: fairly self-explanatory, just one of them dying in childbirth. if this option wins, I can make a second poll to decide if it's an omegaverse situation, a spirits gift situation, or if we make it a donor situation.

3: if it's omegaverse (y'all, I'm obsessed with omegaverse, did you notice), the angst is through the roof because it's a past Maizula thing. the healers advice to not send her to an asylum/prison. it's a more pre-Azutara thing. Katara can help with healing or she's just the only other female beta around so they bond during the pregnancy. if it's not omegaverse, uh, it can get dark or maybe a drunk one night stand kind of thing.

4: Katara is in a relationship with Jet or Zuko, but cheating on him with Azula. He discovers the cheating and leaves her, all pregnant and alone. I didn't add Aang as an option because I think that even if he gets quite upset, he'd break up with her but stay around for their kid. Anyways. Azula steps up even if nobody expects her to.

They're all aged up, I don't intend to write any of them pregnant at fourteen.

(There's a 5th idea, it takes place in the same A/B/O AU where I make Ursa the worst parent possible. The thing would be mostly Azula coming to terms with stuff that happened to her & the repressed memories, with Katara there to help her and being quite the patient wife. But that would be way too dark for this event.

Like the original option for 3, where it could be a Maizula/Tyzula baby or y'know, a random ass guard doing stuff they shouldn't be doing.)

Azutara Week 2024, day 1: Superhero AU

Happy Azutara Week to anyone who observes, wooooooo!

Here's my humble offering for the first day: couldn't help myself, seeing that superhero×supervillain is one of my favourite things ever! I'm a bit unhappy that I couldn't find the guts to ink and color it, but I was scared af that I'd ruin everything T.T

... also, maybe someday there'll be a fanfic about this prompt, but it would've been impossible to do it for the occasion, because in my mind it calls for a multi-chapter 100k words story, oops.

“You sure you’re okay?” Katara asked, directing the question more towards Zuko than Azula.

“We’re fine. We just never really swam during the day and in a…fun kind of way. It was always at night and if we stayed in the water too long we risked the Dai Li dragging us back to the shore with earth chains.” Zuko rubbed his neck and wrists as if he could still feel the restraints.

Katara gently placed a hand on Zuko’s own, smiling at him softly, “You’ll have fun and it’s relaxing!” Katara promised, “Come join us.” She hid behind Appa until she was ready to run towards the water and jump in.

In Shu Jing, they had been smart enough to get some bathing suits because the others had mentioned stopping by multiple lakes both to swim and bathe. Zuko went over and joined the others, letting laughter bubble out of him when Katara gently sprayed water on him and then disappeared under the water. Zuko happily swam after her—-Katara clearly didn’t know dragon’s could hold their breath for longer than any other animal.

“No! Hahahaha!” Katara’s laughter filled the area when Zuko splashed her again and again.

“How are you losing a water fight, waterbender?” Sokka asked.

That earned him a water blast to the chest.

“You joining us?” Toph asked, seeing Azula standing at the side of the springs.

The Dragons in the Lake

“Fair. I am curious to see the parties you guys throw here. When we first got here, Aang found out that you don’t allow dancing in the Fire Nation.”

“N-n-no need for it.” Azula shrugged.

“But it’s so fun! How can you not like dancing?”

“I know p-prop-proper dance moves. Things a princess is expect…expected to know, but nothing else.”

“One of these days we-…actually.” Katara grabbed Azula’s hands and led her into the center of the street. There was no light on them except the distant light of the restaurant where they had gotten their food, but that didn’t stop Katara from showing off her dance moves.

“Katara, I don’t know if I can-

“Don’t worry about anything else. Just follow my lead.” Under her breath, Katara began humming and singing a familiar song to her. Azula didn’t know why she was singing about a secret tunnel but she followed along anyway, making sure to keep her tail and wings out of the way.

Much to Azula’s shock, dancing was just like fighting. She moved following Katara’s rhythms and matched it perfectly. The only problem was that she didn’t know what to do with her hands but Katara solved that instantly by grabbing both of them again and twirling the princess around. Finally, the dance ended with the two inches apart from one another.

Katara’s big blue eyes met Azula’s large golden eyes, “I-“

“Are you okay?”

“I’m okay.” Azula nodded, “You made a cure?”

“I did, but that’s not the important part.”

“You making a cure to a virus that’s been around for decades and killed billions isn’t the important part?” Azula asked.

“The important part is that you said you love me.”

“You said it too.” Azula pointed out.

“Because I do.” Katara grinned.

“Well, so do I.” Azula wrapped her arm half way around Katara’s neck and pulled her in, kissing the waterbender passionately on the lips. Katara wrapped her arms around Azula’s waist, pulled the firebender in closer to the kiss.

the first line to the "funeral" prompt fil has been decided in a poll, I see that getting help is fun so here's a poll fot the "fake death" prompt.

they meet or reunite at some point when on the run in the EK. option 5, however, is kinda what happens in the dragon au.

oh, and the ideas that don't win the poll will be used later (or even be posted before the winners)

I know there's a cheating prompt, but that will probably one of them cheating their partner with the other. and the spy one is definetely because of the natla introduction of Azula.

Azutara Week 2024: the prompts I'll fill

First, I wanna thank everone who voted in the polls! It was fun to get some help to figure out what you what to write for me. The option that didn't win the polls will be eventually used for other fanfics in the future, so don't worry if you liked an idea that wasn't chosen.

Day 1 - Funeral. First line chosen: it's a curse, Katara thinks, how far Azula always went for the people she loved.

Day 2 - Fake death. Option that won: accidental fake death. people think Azula's dead, she's just chilling in the SWT.

Day 3 - Break Up. Option that won: break up to protect Katara.

Day 4 - Pregnancy. Option that won: the prison/asylum is not a good environment for pregnant people.

Day 5 - Cheating: Jetara.

Days 1 and 4 are omegaverse AUs. I won't write smut for this event and the A/B/O elements are relevant for the context and prior build-up, but I 100% understand that it's not everyone's cup of tea. (Speaking of omegaverse, a smutty omegaverse oneshot is coming in July, and also a FIre Hazard oneshot with hints of Azutara. Both for July Break Bingo).

The first lines that lost the Day 1 poll will be used for drabble in the 100 Azutara Drabbles project.

yes, I refuse to put a straight Azula ship in here even if I guess I could put, but part of the angst is that whoever is the cheating one, she genuinely loves who she's with BUT sex is much better with who she's cheating them with. y'all, this is a toxic Azutara fic. I'm a lesbian Azula truther y'all.

Azula Week 2024 – Day 02. Music

Warnings: none // Azutara AU, dragon!Azula (because there aren't enough dragonzula Azutara fics)

The list of surprising facts about Azula seemed to keep getting longer even years into a happy established relationship. Katara was sure she was nowhere as impressively layered as the princess. They didn't need it, but that made the relationship even more exciting.

Somehow, she still managed to be surprised by the sight of Azula in her dragon form.

Right now, apparently Azula was basically a babysitter if the flock of children around her was any indication. If she told herself from war times that all her friends trusted the Princess of the Fire Nation with their kids. It was particularly funny that Azula kept stopping them from trying to climb all the way up to her shoulders.

Well, Azula was a little to tall to be safe to climb.

"I'm not a tree you must climb, niece," right, she called them niece and nephews even if her actual niece was currently not in the trend of testing the climb-ability of her aunt. "Gather in a organized manner and I'll tell you more about The Mighty Dragon."

That was very efficient.

Azula liked to say she was bad with kids, then proceed to be the favorite human of every child she interacted with. She wasn't beating the soft allegation, much less when she allowed the youngest of the bunch to lay on her lap.

Azula started the tale from where she stopped last time. She made voices and sang the songs. Music was another thing that surprised Katara. If Zuko was a theater lover, Azula was a music lover. She could play way too many intruments for someone who didn't make music for a living, and had a beautiful voice.

Katara caught her humming songs more often than not, sometimes lullabies, and it was fascnating.

Maybe everything about Azula was fascinating.
