[what kind of planet did the Q're'ta come from?]

Oooo very good question very good question!!!

My instant thought was a cold planet. Maybe made of ice, crystal, who knows. It would certainly have helped develop that 'echo' of a voice they got which seems to just appear.

Another option could just be a very rocky, cavey planet. Lots of tunnels, lots of wide open areas to figure out how to communicate with each other.

Either way it definitely got them to develop tech revolving around the sun as fast as possible and once they realised just how much potential a suns energy has, they took it as far as they can.

They're still exploring their limits when it comes to a sun! :3

And what galaxy did they come from?]

In my original writing, the book that never will be written LOL, there was another alien race that comes across from another galaxy as well. Smaller, more agile, but they're dangerous. They're warlike, they take prisoners, war criminals, etc. The whole bundle of evil that is Them.

But in this new writing era? Well, we can't reveal EVERYTHING can weee :3 but if they are on the run, they got one of THE oldest races known in the galaxy scared. That's quite the achievement!

Ohhh it HAS to be a neighbouring galaxy. After all, the milky way and the Andromeda galaxies are due to collide in a few billion years.

So they HAVE to be from the Andromeda galaxy, I could also do one of the other galaxies but it's still fun :3

How do the Q're'ta communicate? Meaning, do they have a mouth/mouth-like structure to speak with, use telepathy, or some other method to speak their language?

I'm still deciding on whether they do or don't have a mouth. If I don't it would be more Eerie but then it would feel like I'm borrowing too much from the Vorlons in B5 and Star Trek Online with the Iconians. I DID do that mix with how they speak!! And it's here <3

So I believe they do have mouths but are blind or vice versa, the option's still out there!! But if I did deny them a mouth, it would definitely still be like an echo. It just emanates from them (as is previewed in what I have linked as my own mix) and then with the floating they do? Might as well add telepathy as a thing as well! The more supernatural abilities to make them spookier, the better!!

[Are the Q're'ta in contact with Earth? If they have been, for how long?]

They haven't been in contact BUT do know about the humans that live on Earth because, despite being a more defensive species (ironic considering their Carrier is insanely massive) they did exploration! They were at the edge of the milky way galaxy however when they first appeared in the galaxy but are more in the middle now. Not too close to the black hole but have definitely moved.

Neat info for how long the species itself has been around! Besides, I said "appeared in the galaxy" which means their homeworld is at ANOTHER galaxy... What are they potentially running and hiding from?

I would say that for at least a LITTLE bit of realism sake no BUT. It does add a new aspect. After all if they're going to try and negotiate with humans or any other small-like species they're gonna need to be the same size, looks, etc so the other race doesn't feel like it's insanely creepy how they all look!

Tell us about the Q'er'ta OC

ALRIGHT ALRIGHT ALRIGHT SO!!! They were first made 3-4 years ago as I've already said and they were ALSO made for a book series that I'm never going to finish writing.

Basics are! They're a spacefaring race, EXTREMELY TALL! Like 100ft tall sorta stuff and float. Also immortal-ish. They live for a REALLY long time that it seems like immortality to humans but it's "just" a few million+ years to them.

When one of them dies though the universe seems to quake at the harmonious noise they create in mourning.

They are not a war faring species! They were actually one of three ancient species that existed at the same time and they lived through what killed the other two species because they're not explorers or eager to show force in combat but actually keep to themselves and remain neutral through conflict unless forced to join a side.

Talking combat, their largest ship is a Carrier-class that needs to recharge in a binary star system. That's right all their ships are solar powered baby!

Now you must be wondering wtf they need a binary star system for. This is to recharge their shields, their weapons, their fighters, bombers, jump engines, etc. They do naturally charge on their own however it's quicker just to sit by a system star and wait that way (it's twice as fast!)

I actually already have an idea of how they speak as well! It's actually a mix of Vorlon (Babylon 5) and Iconian (Star Trek Online) and can be listened to here. Don't panic about the black screen, I'm still deciding on how they exactly look.

They actually came to me in a dream and it's kinda freaky that it happened that way to have any excuse to write them JUST because they came to me in a dream like that.

Bonus fun fact, depending on how you say it, Q're'ta said fast can either sound like 'creator' or 'critter'. And I just think that's funny af to me.

Ngl I'm still glad people are so interested in the Q're'ta. I haven't even offered up a design idea for them and y'all are like "I love them tell me more" and honestly. That's fucking beautiful to hear ;-;
