Mesenteries are essential anatomical structures within the abdomen

What is a mesentery?

It's a fold of peritoneum (a membrane that lines the abdominal cavity) that connects an organ to the abdominal wall.

Passage of lymphatic vessels: They ensure lymphatic drainage of the organs.

relevant to recent posting and re:how much do maesters know about the body. it kinda fascinates me that baelon was given an autopsy? theres a few implications in that. one that westeros/the faith doesnt have any hangups about dissecting dead humans. and human anatomy has been studied enough that maesters are able to cut a dead person open to (at least Roughly) determine the cause of death.

fwiw we've narrowed it down to either 'your recurring ovarian cyst is small enough it should go away on its own we'll just wait a few more months' or 'you have gas trapped somewhere and it just hurts you way more than it hurts normal people' and neither of them have any treatment other than pain meds and OTC stuff!!!!

Right Hypochondriac Region -- liver -- gallbladder

Epigastric Region -- stomach

Left Hypochondriac Region -- diaphragm -- spleen

Right Lumbar Region -- ascending colon of the large intestine

Umbilical Region -- small intestine -- transverse colon of the large intestine

Left Lumbar Region -- descending colon of the large intestine

i am hoping to finish up chapter two soon, I've been taking a break from working in teacher au stuff so hopefully by this week I'll be in the groove to get back into working on it.

I've been dealing with some rough things recently with health issues (which hopefully I'll be finding a solution for on Tuesday) and unstable housing. I'm hoping the holidays will ✨bring my brain back to life✨

sometimes this show is actually insane. can you imagine if irl you went to the clinic where you get scared into a STROKE* and then after a bunch of treatments that don't fix you your doctors learn that you're into BDSM (you know, something that has already devastated your personal life) and THEN. when you refuse treatment. they try to 'dominate' you into signing the consent forms. other episodes you'll have a 9-year old cancer patient have open heart surgery or a man with several feet of necrotic bowel removed in surgery and they just. walk out at the end, no weakness no nothin
