[ # 000 :: O.M.G's ORIGIN STORY ] small print

O.M.G, is an originally animated six-member girl group created in late 2013 by Lucia Martinez, or better known as "Keisha" from her character in O.M.G, under her youtube channel "Envious Martini" accompanied by her 5 other girlfriends for fun. They would post a lot of vlogs, grwm (get ready with me's), mukbangs, reaction/commentary, and livestreams, of course, none of these posts were ever serious. And a lot of their videos would be clipped to be used as memes that would instantly catch fire, and their faces would soon be very recognisable. In fact It wouldnt even take long for O.M.G to earn a lot of attention from Korean and Western K-POP fans when "Molly (claimed song!! playboi carti)", which is a scrap unreleased track by the way, would randomly go viral at 2.3 million views on youtube and Envious martini would begin to grow a humble following of 430K followers for their music, art and shitposts.

All music production, concepts, and choreography were created by Keisha with the help of the 5 girls behind the scenes. For example, in order for Keisha to be able to animate the choreography, the girls would make dance routines together, figuring out positions and record it for Keisha to take as reference. This also went for vocals and rapping. All girls played their parts accordingly to how they felt comfortable and were suitable to each member. And then it would be in mid-June of 2014 that the girls would decide to bring Keisha's art to life and replace the characters of O.M.G with themselves.

And in 2015, after being invited to many interviews and talk shows and entering many survival shows and competitions, it would be one competition show in particular, held by JYP which O.M.G would win, where they would officially be adopted under JYP entertainment and debut as a JYP girl group in the same year. But it wasn't until 2016 after much debate surrounding the group that O.M.G. was finally recognised and accepted as a KPOP group.

so i guess if you really want to know my most faves: lights on and tier 1. as far as the concept goes well...it's a gacha. i am picturing it as an open-world action rpg with an emphasis on storytelling. Yena is acting here as the default mc because she just gets it. you'd have various quests to complete with combat, puzzles and mini-games. the actual gacha part would be outfits and characters (we have to make money somehow sorry), weapons could be switched up as you wish and unlocked through quests.

Alright it's time for the first photo dump of Binderary 2024!

Started off by making some author copies of a collab that happened in 2022 (I've had this project in the works since then.... we're not going to talk about it :x ). All fics were named after songs and the idea was to make a 'mixtape.

All books have similar yet different pink covers and I got to use a foil quill for the first time with... mixed success. (To be fair, I opened it and went 'yeah I can do this' with limited practice so that's on me)

AND I got to use Church paper (warm white, I don't think I'm ready for cream yet) and let me say I am obsessed with it now!

RECENT MUSIC:

Goat Girl's motorway is for the girlies into... the indie girlies. Music to reflect on your life to.

JESSIE WARE!!!!!!! & ROMY's LIFT YOU UP! Feel good dance track. Just vibrant and joyful. What a lovely way to end Pride month.

Normani FINALLY released her album. Not mindblowing (and some of the teaser versions of songs are better) but it's enjoyable to listen to all the way through. Highlights are "All Yours" which feels luxurious, "Take my Time" which is sweet and pleasant, "Insomnia" which has a sprinkling of Daft Punk in some of the vocoding, and a more energetic "Little Secrets" which closes the album out. This is a solid debut which promises greater things down the line. Good sensibilities, just needs a bit more oomph.

Spinning off of that, check out "Endless Night" by Maeta.

Tove Lo & SG Lewis are back at it again with a mini EP! Let Me Go OH OH sounds the way Kylie's Love at First Sight MV looks, if that makes sense. Busy Girl is for Cunts on the Runway. Heat is for dancing at the club. Desire is a club mix track that is generic and yet perfectly calculated--like a chocolate chip cookie made up premium ingredients.

Megan Thee Stallion has an album out and narrowing this down to a handful of tracks is hard, even with singles excluded! Rattle is scathing and yet too cool for the haters. Down Stairs DJ combined with Where Them Girls At has convinced me she needs to collab with Cupcakke*. Worthy is summery and poppy. Spin with Victoria Monet will have you doing body rolls without even realizing, Otaku Hot Girl is a fun sample... I forgive her for insulting Sasuke avis I know where she's coming from lol.

Nayeon's album is kinda hit or miss to me but I love ABCD's bigger than life energy and the dance break in the MV. HalliGalli is just like refreshing fruit punch on a hot day

Despite not feeling the title track, Red Velvet did pull through with some music you can just float around to, Last Drop and Night Drive would be nice to wade into the ocean and stare up at the stars to. Bubble has an almost 80s Jpop veneer to it. And Love Arcade gives the album some energy it very much needed, lol. Not my fave RV project but not the bummer I expected!

She, this blog's namesake, has a new mini album! Spectral Touch and With You are expansions of She's Chiptune sound but maybe with some appeal you might find in Kavinsky's music--not the same sound at all but that sort of "driving at night through neon lights" type vibe.

The Used has a new album out, it's more of the same, but I loved the video game trailer bombasticness of Depression Personified and the return to an older whininess (said with fondness) in Before I Leave. Emos, check it out.

Catharsis by 9mm Parabellum Bullet is more rock music. Japanese and surprisingly melodic, this track is haunting. Maybe Buck-Tick enjoyers should check it out.

If you liked the Tove Lo ep, check out Baddy on the Floor by Jamie xx. Honey Dijon absolutely elevates this track into transcendence.

Amaarae said "Fountain Baby Part 2!!!" this! is a swooning afrobeats track, wanted is a song that crawls to you and up your body and grabs your hips, and sweeeet is such a natural evolution of Fountain Baby. This whole project is worth a listen!

TuNGSTeN is by Hiroyuki Sawano (TECHNICALLY a different project than my other shout out) and it's just evocative and makes me clutch at my chest but also wanna run.

Power of Two by Victoria Monet. Idk why she's doing a Star Wars song but... fuck, she hit it out of the fucking park. It's like of Kendrick/Sza's All the Stars had a dark, more cosmic child.

Lynch. has some more Japanese metalcore for anyone interested. Standouts are the frantic Un Deux Trois and A Fierce Blaze while the track Remains might appeal more to the crowd who wants more of the melodic bits that Catharis had. Buck-Tick fans I'm saying try out Remains. Not as good but you'll see the vibe

Getting no Sleep by Tinashe is a surprising follow up to Nasty but suuch a good follow up to her album BB/Angel and its more cerebral elements.

"Know You Did" by bongjeingan is a korean indie rock song not afraid to get WEIRD with it. This is a song that is everything all at once. Goes surprisingly hard at the end.

Somethin Bout You by The Knocks and Holiday87 ft Betsy feels like a dream of the 80s had by someone who passed out at the club after too much fruity drinks.

"Security" by Raleigh Ritchie (AKA LOUIS FROM IWT!V!) is a a more lowkey track than some on this but the lyrics are relatable and I remain charmed by his blunt writing style--he gets to the heart of the matter and carves at it.

"Y/N!" my friend Minseo called me.

"Yeah?" I replied.

"INB100 has opened its auditions," she replied excitedly.

"What!?" I asked.

"Yeah," she confirmed.

"Wait, let me see…" I said. "Wait, I'm 20. Am I eligible?"

"Well, it says 15 and above, so I guess you are. And even if you're not, it's just an application. Send yours in!" she encouraged.

"I'll do it!" I decided.

"So, what are you going to do?" she asked.

"Well, I'll try all three of them," I said.

"Same song?" she inquired.

"Different ones," I clarified.

"Which songs then?" Minseo asked.

"For singing… 'ABCD' by Nayeon, dance can be 'Armageddon' by Aespa, and rap '3racha' by 3racha of Stray Kids," I listed.

"Why not an EXO song?" she questioned.

"Well, if Baekhyun watches the auditions, he would pay special attention to EXO songs, be it unit, solo, or band," I explained.

I practiced continuously for a week for my application, and finally, I felt ready enough to make a video and send it in.

"MINSEO!!" I called her.

"What's wrong?" She came rushing in.

"Can you help me take the videos?" I asked.

"Sure," she said, smiling.

It took us 5 hours to shoot the videos.

"I CAN'T DO IT!!" I said, freaking out and unable to press the submit button.

"Should I do it for you?" Minseo asked.

"Please…" I requested, and Minseo pressed the submit button.

"Done," she said, and I whimpered, still freaking out.

"It's okay," she said, comforting me.

After receiving the email, I couldn't contain my excitement. This was it—the next step towards possibly joining the girl group under INB100 Entertainment.

"Minseo, I got in! I cleared the first round!" I exclaimed, waving my phone in excitement.

"That's amazing! I knew you could do it!" Minseo cheered, giving me a congratulatory hug.

I quickly filled out the audition confirmation form, carefully selecting my preferred date and providing my contact information. With each detail entered, the reality sank in deeper—I was one step closer to realizing my dream.

As the days passed, I practiced tirelessly, refining my singing, dancing, and rapping skills. Minseo stood by me, offering encouragement and helping me perfect every move and note.

On the day of the audition, nerves and excitement mingled as I walked into the audition room. Faces of the INB100 team greeted me warmly, and I took a deep breath, ready to showcase everything I had prepared.

The audition itself felt like a whirlwind—a blur of music, movement, and adrenaline. When it was over, I left the room with a mix of emotions, hoping I had left a lasting impression.

Now, all that was left to do was wait—anxiously yet hopefully—for the next email, the one that would decide my fate with INB100 Entertainment and their girl group.

Top 20 K-pop songs in 2024 (Part 2, 10-1)

Here's Part 1 (20-11) in case you missed it yesterday. Let's get right down to it!

10. Sad Song by P1Harmony

Easily the best Latin-infused Kpop song since Antifragile. The chorus is crazy addictive, the raps and vocals are stunning and the beat gets you dancing from the very first note.

9. Sticky by Kiss Of Life

I struggled to pick between Midas Touch and this, but at the end of the day, Sticky was my song of the summer. The Afrobeats vibe always works for me and the chorus is among the best of the year.

8. ABCD by Nayeon

What a DIVA! This song really brings me back to the sound of the 2000s and the memories of my childhood. I couldn't not give it a high placement.

7. Run For Roses by NMIXX

Adding country/folk touches to a Kpop song might sound like a weird idea, but I'm so here for it. I hope their future releases stay as surprising as this one.

6. I'm Ready by Chung Ha

She really should stick to this style and sound, cause no one else in the industry can pull it off like her. I would go as far as saying this is the coolest choreography of the year.

5. Love Wins All by IU

No other ballad released this year has reached the soaring heights of this one. It's also one of the best of her career, which is saying a lot. And of course, the music video is an all-timer.

4. Supernova by aespa

I feel like I think about that beat change constantly. And it has so many iconic lines, like the first one or the Body Bang thing. Hell, I might even consider it their new representative song.

3. Déjà Vu by TXT

The best boy group release of the year, without a doubt. Their raspy, desperate vocals perfectly capture the yearning and heartbreak of the lyrics, aided by the emo vibes of the beat.

2. Lost by RM

Right Place, Wrong Person is IMHO the album of the year, and the lead single is the perfect representation of its eclectic brilliance. On top of that, the MV is one of the best things I've ever seen.

1. Smart by Le Sserafim

Back in February I predicted this would be my number one song and here we are. I just love everything about it: the amapiano beat, the lyrics, the vocals, the choreography. Can't wait to see if they'll top it!

What's up with these weird names, huh?

You might be wondering why I'm tagging some posts with weird names like "Roman Alleys" or "Azerbaijani Alley Persians."

Well, I decided I liked pedigrees to actually have names rather than the gibberish I/the community liked to use "a1" "AbcD" "gd5". The gibberish is great for helping keep track of where you are in the breeding project, especially when we were breeding one at a time and having to go through the whole fall in love-heart announce-gestation-infant, etc. But with Batch breeding making things easier and faster, I wanted to use real names and words.

First I started with the Locations dalis. First gen is all A place names, second gen is all B place names. Etc. I have plans for a Locations A-H line, a Locations I-P line, and a Locations Q-Z line. But what about all the other lines and breeds I want to breed?

So I went to my favorite name website, BehindtheName and voila! A lot of names easily sortable in multiple ways. I decided to pick names by usage or culture.

Did you know, it takes 31 names to get a full pedigree on a 5th gen pet? 16 first gens, 8 second gens, 4 third gens, 2 fourth gens, and 1 fifth gen.

Eventually, I think I'll make posts about each line and link them in my sitemap. Until then, here's the list of groups of names I've used so far:

The entire process goes much faster when I have the names already picked out too. Have a sample of my spreadsheet. Tumblr will probably kill the quality until it's unreadable, unfortunately.

I've been calling these "mini" lines since my goal wasn't always 7th gen petz at the end (most of the time I go for 5th or 6th gens). They aren't that "mini" though.

below the cut is a little guide to first aid.

always remember: DRS ABCD

Danger: is there danger, this can include vehicles, gas, power lines or cords, etc, to yourself bystanders and/or the patient? yes: do not put yourself or others in danger. call for help. no: continue. Response*: is the patient responsive? do they respond to you when you speak loudly and clearly? squeezing their shoulders? yes: ask them if you can help them**, check for injuries, continue to assess response and breathing. call for help if needed and if given permission. no: continue. Send for help: get somebody to call an ambulance or call them yourself, send somebody for a defibrillator if possible, or shout for help. be loud. "i need help over here!" "does anyone know first aid?" how to avoid the bystander effect: address people directly. "you in the red shirt, call an ambulance." "hey, person in the green jumper, find and grab the nearest defib." Airway: open the mouth, check for obstructions such as vomit, water, food, etc. is there an obstruction? yes: roll them onto their side and let it drain or fall from their mouth, or gently sweep it from their mouth with your fingers, if possible. check to make sure it is clear before continuing. no: continue. Breathing: tilt the head back. place your ear above the mouth and nose to listen for breath sounds and feel the breath on the side of your face, face the chest and place your hand on their chest to see and feel if it is rising and falling. is your patient breathing normally? yes: place them in the recovery position, continue to monitor response, breathing and check for injuries. if they stop breathing normally, start CPR. no: continue. CPR: chest compressions:rescue breaths, 30:2 at 100-120 bpm. 5-6cm (2-2.5 inches) depth. if possible, ask people to take over for you when you are tired. 2 minute "shifts" are recommended to prevent fatigue and maintain effectiveness. check for breathing with each rescue breath. in the event of drowning, give five initial rescue breaths before beginning chest compressions. if you notice obvious signs of life such as breathing, moving, coughing, talking, stop cpr and place the patient in recovery position. continue to monitor breathing and assess for response and injuries. Defibrillate: if somebody is with you, get them to remove clothing on the chest and place the pads as per instructions while you continue compressions (maintain patient dignity, limit the people around, etc), or do it yourself if it is only you. follow defib instructions, continue cpr as instructed. do not touch the casualty when the defib is delivering the shock, clearly announce to anyone with you, "do not touch the patient. everyone stand back. all clear?" and wait for everyone to confirm before delivering the shock, announce that you are delivering the shock, "delivering shock now." have somebody record the time the shock was delivered each time, if possible, this will help paramedics and medical staff later. i wave my hands over the chest without touching them then hold my hands up so they are visible. if you notice obvious signs of life such as breathing, moving, coughing, talking, stop cpr and place the patient in recovery position with defib pads still in place in case you need to use it again. continue to monitor breathing and assess for response and injuries. always loudly and clearly state what you are doing. "starting chest compressions," "checking for breathing," "i'm just rolling you onto your side," etc. continue cpr until: you are too tired to continue, you notice obvious signs of life, aed prompts you to remove your hands, somebody else can take over, an ambulance arrives, or the scene becomes unsafe.

*remember COWS! this is, "Can you hear me?", "Open your eyes for me," "What is your name?" and "Squeeze my hands." make sure you hold both hands when asking them to squeeze your hands in case they have had a stroke.

**if a responsive casualty does not give consent, do not do it, don't call an ambulance for a responsive casualty unless they consent either. i know you want to help and there's a lot of adrenaline involved but if they don't want your help, respect that. if they become unresponsive or unconscious, run through DRS ABCD again.

i definitely recommend getting your first aid certificate if you're able. it could save a life.

😒 - Biggest pet peeve

I sometimes get easily stressed out and tend to push too much of these issues onto my peers, which tends to be annoying at times. But I have learned to control my stress and take one thing at a time, instead of being overwhelmed.
