In January, I will celebrate my one-year anniversary in the 911 fandom.
I used to write almost constantly. I was part of a role-playing group with the fantastic Charlie ( @turnerisms ), where we created characters that we loved and produced self-paras nearly every week. (Charlie also came back into my life this year as well.)
However, when that phase came to an end, I faced struggles at home as I became half the caretaker for my mother-in-law alongside my husband. During that time, I found it challenging to discover anything that could capture my attention and inspire my creativity, I fell into a hole that I almost felt like I couldn't get out.
I've shared this story many times, but I work for our local FOX station, and there's a running joke that I haven't watched any of the shows on our channel. When I heard that ABC was taking over for 911, I finally decided to take the plunge earlier this year, in January. I knew it was the perfect opportunity to binge-watch the show before the new season started.
I quickly became deeply immersed in the fandom.
I began by creating a piece of fan art of a Buddie Kiss, inspired by a pose I had found on Pinterest. I posted it in March of this year, which marked the first time since 2013 that I shared any of my drawings on Tumblr. I was surprised at how quickly it attracted attention, as I didn't expect it to receive more than five notes!
I never imagined that my fan art would attract any attention, particularly my mash-up of Fallout and 911. To my surprise, this piece not only resonated with others but also led me to form a fantastic friendship with Wendy ( @cafecitoeddie ).
I firmly identify as a multi-shipper, particularly on AO3, but I want to make it clear that Buddie will always hold a special place in my heart.
I've been a fan of hockey since about 2012, and started as a Dallas Stars fan, a love that sparked my interest in exploring fanfiction on AO3. During my early adventures on the site, I stumbled upon the incredible fic "Steppin' Into Fate" by @onward--upward, which quickly became a favorite of mine and is an absolute must-read for anyone who enjoys hockey AUs.
As I delved deeper into this vibrant community, I began chatting with Han ( @exhuastedpigeon ), who shared their own imaginative hockey AU. Our discussions ignited my creativity and motivated me to start crafting photo manips, leading to the first manip I had made in 4-5 years, which was Eddie donning a Red Wings jersey.
In the past year, I have confidently written two 911 Hockey AUs (100K+ words with both? What?), created numerous hockey manipulations, and created an array of fan art.
Like many other fandoms, I initially felt apprehensive about encountering toxicity within the fandom.
However, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the 9-1-1 fandom for their incredible warmth and kindness. From the moment I joined this fandom, I felt as if I was embraced with open arms, which has truly made my experience enjoyable and memorable.
So thank you, 911 Fandom.
You honestly helped me out of the dark.
Sorry this was wordy, but any information about me, my links & what-not are in the pinned post on my page.
~Kenna

Beautiful key art of six of our main mates from Season Two, courtesy of Ben King's website!
On Sunday afternoon, just before Greed And Fear made its telly debut, my mum and I finished Season Two on ABC iView. I still mourn the fact that we lost the six week roll out and I felt that pressure to rush through the season purely to avoid spoilers, hence the reason I have been absent from Tumblr this week, but oh my goodness.
I am abiding to my no future episode spoilers conduct here, to be fair to everyone. But what I wanted to say was WOW. This season has been nothing that I could have predicted, aside from some of the real life historical references influencing the direction of the show. The ability of the writers, the actors, to challenge our perceptions and add flaws to characters that we love, and give us more empathy and understanding for characters that we have historically disliked in Season One, it's beyond incredible. I definitely feel as though my brain was rewired through this season.
The bravery to take the show in frightening, more harrowing directions, to not resort to easy choices and options for all the characters, even the characters who got "happy ever afters" still have that layer of nuance of imperfections that still exist within that dimension that they are now occupying. I have been challenged in ways that I could never have anticipated with some of the storytelling decisions this season, but we will all be richer for it. Because stories are always richer when risks and unexpected twists are taken, and this show has catapulted into a brand new space for me.
I can't begin to tell you how proud I am to be a fan of this extraordinary show, to help further tell these stories, and more importantly, even more proud of the incredible team behind the show. They have DONE. THEIR. JOB. How brilliant to see an Australian story so carefully constructed and so well received by viewers everywhere.
AND! In another unexpected twist, Season Three was confirmed today! The welcomed chaos of Season Two will truly get the chance to be further explored, and looks like you're stuck with me and my fangirling shenanigans for another couple of years! 😂 Well done, Team Newsreader, well bloody done! 💖📺🌟🇦🇺📰🎥

Sound Judgment Season Three Is Here: Masterclass for Speakers, Storytellers & Hosts
I did a talk in front of third-graders last week about writing. Now, I know this audience is not known for its discriminating tastes in speakers. After all, it wasn't a TED Talk.
Normally, in large groups, I'm about as interesting as Mike Pence on Xanax. You may not believe this (You can call Jaden's Mom to verify), but I was good. Better than past performance would indicate.
Why? Because I've been a faithful listener of the Sound Judgment podcast. Now, I know that the podcast focuses on audio storytelling more in a podcast format, but I've picked up a lot of helpful tips in the first two seasons. I'm not sure if I should tip the host, Elaine Appleton Grant. I mean, is 15 percent the standard for servers and podcast hosts of extraordinary skill?
Anyway, my learning -- and hopefully yours as well -- continues because Sound Judgment just launched a third season, taking listeners into the studios — and the minds — of your favorite audio storytellers. Unlike virtually every other show about podcasting, Sound Judgment explores the audio storytelling craft, not the business of podcasting. In each episode, journalist Elaine Appleton Grant and a top audio creator deconstruct an episode of the guest’s show. It’s not just a revealing conversation about the art and craft of audio storytelling, it’s a sound-rich narrative interview: Grant plays back clips from her guest’s podcast. Together, they explore the storyteller’s creative choices in a “living-learning lab.” In its first year, the critically acclaimed podcast has been called “your online master’s degree in audio storytelling” by Whisper, Speak, Roar Media; “a masterclass in podcasting” by Ear Worthy, and “required listening for our profession” by the supervising podcasting producer at ABC News. Grant made Ear Worthy’s list of the ten best podcast interviewers, just behind Audie Cornish. Tink Media’s Lauren Passell gives Sound Judgment “456654 stars!” and says “The takeaways at the end are hugely valuable.”
Classy’s Jonathan Menjivar, of Audacy's Pineapple Street Studios and alum of Fresh Air and This American Life, sharing strategies and self-doubts on the challenge of making a gripping podcast about class in America (September 28) Upcoming episodes include: ● Iconic host Anna Sale of Death, Sex and Money, revealing her interviewing and tone-setting techniques (October 12) ● Nikki Boyer, of Wondery’s hit podcast Dying for Sex and Dying for Media/Lemonada’s Near Death on her passion for uncomfortable conversations; ● Showrunner Karen Given of Dear Media’s scam podcast Believable: The Coco Berthmann Story on following a twisty investigation; ● Ronald Young, Jr. on Weight for It, a podcast for fat folks and all folks who can't keep weight off their minds. ● And many more. More and more serious creators are eager to improve the quality of their content as the measure of success in podcasting shifts away from downloads to what really matters: listener engagement and loyalty. And they’re seeking as much learning about storytelling and hosting as they can find — especially from the artists they admire the most. Not only does Sound Judgment provide a valuable “fly on the studio wall” experience to hosts, producers, and editors eager to learn from masters of the craft, it also serves as a discovery engine. Listeners often binge-listen to the shows to which they’re introduced on Sound Judgment, becoming fans in the process. Host Elaine Appleton Grant is a magazine journalist (Inc Magazine, Fortune Small Business, AARP The Magazine, US News & World Report) turned award-winning public radio broadcaster and podcast producer (NPR affiliates and Wondery's Business Wars Daily, American History Tellers and American Scandal). Sound Judgment is a production of Denver-based Podcast Allies, LLC. Podcast Allies is an audio production and consulting firm offering services to public media, mission-driven organizations, and higher ed.
You don't have to be in the podcast business to gain insight into hosting, public speaking, or storytelling. Sound Judgment can help you in your everyday life become a better and more interesting communicator.
If you don't believe me, just ask Jaden's Mom.

It took me about three weeks to finish it, but finally! challenge finished!
(And I really tired)
This time I wanted to do it differently, all the characters that are there are original characters since I started drawing or Fc (Fan Characters), take the opportunity to add a few names to those new characters and other redesigns to characters from years.
I would like to give the list of names but I feel that it would be too much.

FAQ:
Can you explain the concept a little further? Sure! This is a challenge for yourself to create 12 things (fic/art/gifsets/edits/anything really), one each month, based around a theme. That theme can be very structured or very loose, there are no rules. And it doesn’t have to be a big production, you could write 12 Mandalorian haikus. Or pick a different character every month and make a gif of their hands. Maybe you want to challenge yourself to write more inclusively or try a new format or finally dip your toe into smut. Pick something you want to try, or something that brings you joy--it’s about growth, community, and fulfillment. The idea is that you’ll have the support of the other Year Of makers who are all running their own challenges and hopefully come out of 2023 with some new tools/stories/fun pieces/a collection that you might not otherwise have embarked upon.
Is it only for the Pedro boys? No! You can include any fandom you want, or no fandom at all! Just know that I’ll be posting the creations on my blog and hopefully it will be shared by some of your Year Of compatriots, and many of us are part of the Pedro fandom, so those are the eyes that will see a lot of it. But really, this is support for makers of all kinds for all their blorbos!!!
How do I join up? Send me a DM/ask, respond to the master post, or tag me in a post about your intentions and I’ll add you to the list! If you look at the masterpost, you’ll see some of the challenges are linked to that artist’s masterlist. If you set one up, let me know and I’ll get it linked. @stealyourblorbos suggested we start a Discord coven to help us stay connected, and if there’s enough interest, I think that’d be great! Of course it wouldn’t be required--I for one am not great at Discord and am kind of a ding dong at it and tend to get overwhelmed, so would understand if anyone wasn’t into that. But I trust Jules’ expertise and think that could be a lot of fun!
What happens if I don’t complete my challenge for a month / fail the challenge? There’s no way to fail here, and if you do, that’s your own call. So you don’t do it one month. So what? Life gets busy or inspiration fails to strike. Completing this challenge is not a pillar that keeps the sky from falling down--there’s more to life than this. This is my invitation to you to let go of perfectionist completism. If it’s not bringing you joy one month, don’t do it! Join in next month, we’ll be here with open arms!!!! And if you still complete the month’s challenge but post it a week late? I will still reblog it and include it in that month’s masterlist. This is for fun. This is not to add another pressure into your life. Think of it as a book club--sometimes you don’t get the book read, but you still come to the club meeting because community, right? (And maybe because wine and cake too. I don’t judge.) As long as you get to try something new and come out of the year with something you had fun making, you’re a winner. The one-a-month thing is just a helpful guideline, as is the theme; rails to ride and help guide inspiration. It’s not a promise you’re making to anyone, no obligations to keep. You’re safe here. <3

2020 top 5
Rules: it’s time to love yourselves! choose your 5 (ish) favorite works you created in the past year (fics, art, edits, etc.) and link them below to reflect on the amazing things you brought into the world in 2020. tag as many writers/artists/etc. as you want (fan or original) so we can spread the love and link each other to awesome works!
I was tagged by @wrathofthestag and loved the concept, so here we go !
For stats purposes, I’ve written 9 fics in 2020 (all OMGCP)
Those who were the more forgotten... Are actualy my favourite ones and those I spent the most time on. So, good excuse to promote them a bit !
The Providence of Eric Bittle, Zimbits, 40k Eric Bittle just arrived in Providence, where he works for a newspaper. He still doesn't know the city, he doesn't know anyone - and somehow, he finds himself enrolled in a race against time to search for Jack Zimmermann, heir of the famous Zimmermann industries, who disappeared a month ago.
It is the fic I’ve spend the most time on, period. It’s an historical Choose Your Own Adventure fic, written for the reverse BigBang based on @esmiora incredible art that appears at different points of the story, and it was a pleasure and a challenge to write, but I loved every step of the way
Samwell-Florianópolis Express, Whiskeydex, 24k It all began as a joke. "Let's go to Brazil with our bikes, because the plane tickets are too expensive." Who in their right mind would cycle for thousands of miles, after all? But good thing for them, if Samwell taught them one thing, it's that it's okay to just do instead of dream.
This time it was written for the Going Out With A BigBang meme, and this is a road trip story on bicycles spanning over a summer. I absolutely loved the whole planning and research process of this piece, it taught me a lot.
Au fond, je crois que la Terre est ronde, Zimbits, 17k (WIP, 20/26) "Deep down, I think the Earth is round, for only one good reason, after having been all around the world, all we want is to be at home"
This is an ABC fic I need to finish - it’s about Bitty and Jack (and guests? and... more?) travelling across the years after graduation - including the desert of Morocco, Hanoi, Canada, or even Madison. I love to write about travelling when we’re all locked at home
Gothy of the Cemetery, sequel of You Want In or Out?, 6k Gothy feels inspired some days, as if he let Edgar Allan Poe possess him - so of course, that means he must let his muse take over so he can retell his story, and the story of how he met Kent Parson and Jack Zimmermann, back in the Q. Gothy renamed the chat Gothy the Fabulous – The Origin Story
This fic was hell to write, I started it... Two years ago. Stopped to write here because a terrible event happened in my city just as I was writing, so. I lost all will to finish it. The will came back earlier this year, so! It’s a spin-off of You want in or out? which is my most appreciated fic, and it’s a mix between social media and a fairy tale because why the heck not. I love to write both social media and fairy tales. Because why the heck not.
According to plan, Zimbits, 19k It's great to be engaged to be married! But now, you must actually organise an entire wedding. And everyone has opinions on how to do so.
Wedding-planning fic with my fave tropes - family drama and Jewish Jack ! This one got more visibility than others, and it was great to write. The only wedding I plan to plan in my entire life, let me tell you.
Tagging @willdexpoindexter, @fanartshmanart, @bigspicysenpai , @istadris and whoever wants to !

Everyone’s throwing things into this river, it’s a place you can go to and feed off of that energy,’ she says, ‘and feel nourished by the fact that so many people are feeling what you’re feeling. It’s this beautiful exchange.’”

The brothers live in Maine but are often on the road performing, producing music videos, and dancing.”

[TRANS] Doyoung, Jaehyun & Jungwoo’s interview with GQ Korea April 2020 issue!
Doyoung
You're wearing a hoodie with a bear on it and a denim jacket. It's the kind of style I normally like too. I enjoy wearing casual and everyday clothes that aren’t particularly in fashion.
What color stands out the most in your closet? sky blue, blue and cold tones are colors I have the most shirts in. Simple shirts that don't stick to your body.
What color shows your taste in music? Can you name a specific record? '추억은 사랑을 닮아 (Memories Resemble Love)', a song on Park Hyoshin's 5th album. It's a different kind of music from what NCT has shown. I think I'm able to do experimental music and music that stands out thanks to the members. I'm doing music I can't do by myself to my heart's content.
Even when you take a blind test you'd be able to guess it's Doyoung's voice because of the clear tone and aesthetics it has. I first started singing in middle school. Audition programs were very popular at the time, and it was the era where unique vocalists began to draw attention. Because I also wanted to make singing my job, I thought I had to find my own color without any bias.
Do you know your own strengths as a vocalist? My mom sometimes jokingly says "who gave birth to such a pretty voice?". I think the biggest advantage is that it has a tone that can blend well into the various genres like Hip-Hop, R&B, and EMD pop that NCT's music has.
When you were performing 'BOSS' a video clip of you raising the two octaves up to three octaves became a big topic. Are you the type that isn't afraid to sing high notes? To tell you the behind story, that range was a bit more comfortable. I prepared in advance to get myself comfortable and to be able to scream as much as I want. At that time, I wanted to be a strong team during live performances, so all the members spent a lot of time practicing like it was a real battle.
NCT 127's second full-length album is just three days away. During these times, what do the members talk about? "Now, now, let's start practicing the choreography for the 100 million views in a week music video", "Practice for the no.1 song on music shows choreography starts now." (laughs) We have a job where we have to prepare something for a long time and then show it all in a moment. If you think too much about the success that is possible, you have no choice but to be focused. These days, as time goes by, I try not to cling too much to that. It is more important to make an album that we can be satisfied with now.
The title song 'Kick It' has impressive dance moves that are inspired by oriental martial arts. We worked together with a martial arts director to shoot the music video. Each member had their own action scene, but everyone was spinning and flying as the camera started spinning. It was amazing. Everyone was so good to the point you would doubt we had just started learning it. I was a bit worried because I'm not the type to be confident in using my body. I was changing my clothes after we were done and while I was wondering how the shoot would end up, I saw that my hands were all cracked. I told myself I had worked hard.
You seem like a person who gives 200% in a moment of crisis. In the variety show <The Law of the Jungle> you jumped into the sea at night without a doubt. I'm the type to do something properly if you're gonna do something careless. I think I didn't want to make it an embarrassing moment. When I jumped into the sea, I was really afraid. Nevertheless, the reason I did it without fear was because I felt like I had to do something because I had come a long way.
Who is like a hero to Doyoung? You might think it's a boring answer, but it's the staff who help us and the fans. I released this recently. After we finished recording late a night I coincidentally had a look around the office. Even at that late hour, there were so many familiar faces. Many thoughts crossed my mind at that time.
Jaehyun
What do you think of the moment you wake up in the morning? 'It's already morning. I have to wash up.' An ordinary routine.
Do you like velvet? My attention was grasped by velvet training pants the moment I entered the studio earlier. I've been wearing velvet outfits on stage and I've been told that it matches me well. Since then, I started wearing it often with confidence.
You wear a lot of various clothes, like in today's photoshoot too, but what do you think shows your charms best? It feels good when I wear a suit. There was also this techwear look from the music video 'Let's Shut Up & Dance' when we worked with Jason Derulo. I like that too.
Have you thought about what you'd like to do if you could make a transformation? I have wanted to grow my hair long since last year. Growing it to the bottom of your ear and then tucking it behind, I thought it looked cool when I saw past pictures of Leonardo Dicaprio or of the hairstyles of Timothée Chalamet.
Do you have something like that? An aura you really want to have. There are people who look simple in ordinary life, but who look professional when they do their job. You can feel their skills. I want to be like that.
It feels just right looking at NCT's perfect stages. What's the highlight of the performance this time? Since debut, we’ve said NCT's style is 'NEO'. We try hard to reach that level every time. For the title song 'Kick It', the music, choreography, and outfits are very conceptual. There are also moves that are reminiscent of Bruce Lee's martial arts. I think our team's synergy definitely comes out when we have new and unique concepts.
This 2nd full album has 13 songs of various genres. Which song do you like most? The is an R&B ballad song titled 'White Night'. It started with the lyrics "it’s quietly getting darker". I was in charge of the first line, and I was focused on the details such as emotions, beat, and pitch. I recorded the "quietly" part several times. I have some attachments to it.
The soft bass tone seems to be Jaehyun's color of voice. I care a lot about tone and emotion, but interestingly, the tone of my voice has become lower than when I debuted. There's a part in me that wants to show myself more by signing than by dancing. From the start, I have received a lot of stress from singing, but as much as that, I also received a sense of fulfillment. I want to continue doing well.
What song would you recommend to someone who wants to hear Jaehyun's voice? 'Coming home', a song that was released last winter. It's a calm song centered on vocals that I sung with Taeil-hyung, Doyoung-hyung and Haechanie.
You said before you like your hands because they are pretty, right? Seeing them myself, I can agree. What do you want to achieve with those hands? I've been playing the piano for a long time, but I want to improve my skills. I feel at ease when I play the piano. And I'm the type to do anything well that requires my hands, the members sometimes call me 'golden hands'. I hope I can do well in anything.
Is there something you're the best at in the team? I'm confident in running. Since I was a kid, I loved sports so much that being an athlete was also a dream of mine. So when it comes to sports, I'm the.... Hahaha
I heard you watch movies when you want to relax. Is there anything you have been enjoying lately? I watched <Baby Driver> again yesterday. I've seen it three times, but the scenes and the music match perfectly, so I get excited every time I see it. I saw <Before Sunrise> several times too.
Do you also look up old stage videos or music videos? I sometimes do, but once I start watching the music videos starting from our debut song 'the 7th sense' to the latest, I will get hooked on it. When I just debuted I was still fresh but also a bit stiff. I also have memories of the Mickey Mouse 90th Anniversary Concert which was broadcasted by ABC in America. During the first tour of North America last year, I developed an aspiration for languages. When I was young, I lived in America for a while and learned some English, which has helped me and I saw how having [language] skills are a benefit.
This album starts with the song 'Elevator'. Where do you want to go up with NCT? As far as we can go.
Jungwoo
I've seen lots of pictures of Jungwoo wearing a fanny pack. Backpacks are big and uncomfortable so I only carry what I need in my fanny pack.
What does it usually carry? Contact lenses, eye drops, nail clipper, masks, bands, and ointments. Eye drops are an essential. My eyes become tired [/dry] when I wear lenses for a long time.
What is the style Jungwoo likes to wear? First of all, it should be comfortable. I usually wear training clothes and I'm often told that NormCore clothes look good on me, so I try to wear items that don't stand out too much. I think flashy things don't really suit me.
What? No matter how you look at it, you wore fancy and bold clothes today. It’s also curious to me. I like to challenge myself to wear different kinds of styles.
What is the image you try to have? I want to have a dreamy and bright atmosphere. I hope that when people see me they are fascinated and are curious about me.
What kind of person for you think is really cool? Justin Bieber. His style and music have his own unique color. Not only me, but all the members are fans too. I saw Justin Bieber's YouTube documentary yesterday. Besides the external stories, seeing him overcome the agony and growing pains of being an artist, made me like him even more.
What is something surprising about Jungwoo? That I'm purely a hard worker. I don't think I have many talents I was born with. I'm more like someone who will achieve results as much as I worked for it. So I put a lot of effort into anything I want to do.
Is anything possible if you just try hard? Looking at NCT's stages, I think there's more to it than just effort. I often look at others to find out how they do it. When we had a stage on the famous American talk show <Jimmy Kimel Live>, I was able to see and analyze the other stages that were on the program. The ways to walk with the camera and how it appears on the screen. So like that, I learn a lot.
Jungwoo has a very clean and impressive voice, but we heard you passed the audition by dancing. This is also kinda surprising [a twist]. When I was in elementary school, I watched the music shows and became interesting in dancing. But later, when I was recording, the music director told me I had a fascinating charm to my voice since he couldn't really tell if I was singing in falsetto or not. After hearing that, I decided to I should develop my voice into a good one and use it as an advantage to show myself.
What is your favorite track in this album? There is this song called 'Pandora's Box' and when I first heard the guide version, the lyrics 'remember this moment, us, our moment' really stood out to me. I imagined how it would be like if we would sing this with the fans at a concert, and I thought it would really turn out great.
When was the most miraculous moment in your life? When I joined NCT. It felt like a dream. I cried a lot when I came down after finishing my debut stage on the music show. I was happy but also felt regret. I remember the members encouraging me by saying "it's okay, you did well".
What do you think is your role in the team? No matter how, I seem to be the mood maker. I make a lot of jokes. If there would be 100 people, all 100 would be laughing. My humor level seems to match well with Doyoung-hyung especially.
The other members say Jungwoo hasn't shown his full potential yet, they say you have a lot of various sides. I think it can also mean that it's still unclear what I will do next. I often hear that I'm pretty unique. Could you say I'm 8D? (laughs) I too, don't know fully yet who I am.
Do you like that personality? There's only one my in this world. I want the person named Jungwoo to become a new genre. New, unique. In order to do that, I have to accept what I have and work hard to show the charms of it.
