The latest Nostalgiamare entry will DEFINITELY be released after this cause I'm just really busy lol. In the meantime, here's another poll.
Which one of these pieces of 2000s fairycore themed childhood nostalgia is your favourite or grew up with the most. There's a 6th option for if you grew up with something else fairycore related! You can talk about which one you chose or other nostalgia in reblogs and comments.

Binge watched Flying Fairy School again and had some fun with new drawing styles, all while not even bothering to finish the colouring on Gonnigan. I said it before and I'll say it again. He would totally be a fan of the Rainbow Magic series-

“I love the idea of opening up a child’s imagination and challenging a child’s mind,” she says. “That’s always been something I’ve gravitated towards, and it makes the job even more fulfilling than just creating a beautiful visual.”
Abigail Nesbitt has been featured on Variety's Top 10 Animators To Watch of 2023 sponsored by Nickelodeon
Tumblr media
As the supervising director of Disney Junior’s “Pupstruction” — a pre-K animated series about a team of canine construction workers — Nesbitt sought inspiration from a plethora of real-world sources, learning about engineering, hydraulics, and industrial machinery to make the show’s tot-friendly world as tangible as possible. Fortunately, she didn’t have to go far. “Here in my apartment on 9th Street in Brooklyn, they’ve been building a subway immediately outside for the last three years,” she says. “So if I need to check out how a particular truck works, I just have to go outside.” With a decade-plus career as a storyboard artist for kids’ animation projects like “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and Sesame Street’s “Abby’s Flying Fairy School,” Nesbitt moved up into storyboard directing for Disney Junior toons “Goldie and Bear” and “T.O.T.S.” — the latter of which introduced her to “Pupstruction” creator Travis Braun. Though it sometimes doesn’t get the same respect as animation aimed at older kids and adults, working on preschool-targeted shows allows Nesbitt the opportunity to indulge her imagination while still grounding fantastical worlds in real-life mechanics that a child can comprehend. “I love the idea of opening up a child’s imagination and challenging a child’s mind,” she says. “That’s always been something I’ve gravitated towards, and it makes the job even more fulfilling than just creating a beautiful visual.” Taking on her first role as a supervising director, Nesbitt credits “Pupstruction’s” close-knit team with helping her make the transition seamlessly, and she hopes to use her position to extend the same sorts of opportunities to other budding female animators. “I hadn’t actually seen another woman in the position of some of the jobs I worked on. So I love the idea of mentoring and coaching and helping other female animators and artists, letting them know that there are so many opportunities and stories for them to tell as well.”
Abigail Nesbitt has a series of her own on development at Disney Junior Educational Resource Group for Disney Junior

Having a kid does some weird stuff to you that no one talks about.
I now have very detailed thoughts on which segments of Sesame Street slap (Bert and Ernie, Murray has a Little Lamb) and which ones SUCK (Abby's Flying Fairy School).

Evelyn’s openness about being a werewolf makes Vernoraxia reconsider her own stance on keeping her nature secret
Roman and Jacob consummate their relationship, while Vernoraxia considers telling Mary the truth about being a fae
Evelyn tries and fails to make friends with the reclusive Mary Kim
Mary and Vernoraxia are growing closer, but secrets and anxieties hold them back
Afraid that Mary’s passionate confession is a result of her fae influence, Vernoraxia panics breaks up with her
Roman hooks up with Evelyn for all the wrong reasons, then promptly ghosts her
Eleanor loses her virginity to Oliver in a photobooth, and they go steady
Jacob starts a fire, which Vernoraxia puts out with magic
Fiona makes it safely to the Lovecrafts’ residence in Owl Creek, thus beginning the crossover with moocha-muses’ story
The Walden trio throw a party, and the Roman/Jacob/Evelyn love triangle ramps up
Eventually, Roman reveals his anti-werewolf bias, squelching the emergent romance between him and Evelyn
Evelyn reveals to Oliver that she left her pack because of their outdated traditions

Although initially angry, Vernoraxia reluctantly welcomes Larkin
They have a heart-to-heart, and Vernoraxia gains a new perspective, feeling a little better by the end of it
Vernie makes a few bold changes to her appearance to go along with her newfound resolve
She decides to tell Mary the truth, and tries to justify her reasons for taking her distance
Mary grapples with this new information, and claims she needs time to process it
Evelyn gives Mary some needed relationship advice, and the two girls grow closer
Meanwhile, Oliver uses his charm and his hacking skills to illicitly acquire the finals subjects, which brings him to the attention of an interested third party
He is abducted and inducted into the Deus Bovis Society
At first glance, it just looks like a more exclusive fraternity, but are appearances deceiving?
Meanwhile, back in Walden, the Merridews are still desperately searching for Fiona
In an attempt to cope with her loss, Imogen suddenly develops a desire to have another baby, while Rowan is still inconsolable over Fiona’s disappearance
Imogen floats the idea of trying for a baby with Julius, who didn’t take much convincing
After much scrying, Julius realizes the magic presence blocking his attempts was of fae origin, and goes to confront Larkin
He demands to know where Fiona is; when Larkin refuses to tell him, he snaps and attacks her
Larkin’s retaliation is swift as it is terrible
Although he is ultimately unharmed, Larkin warns him next time he will not be so lucky
Julius is humbled, and not entirely unscathed; Larkin has infected him with her true name, which empowers her
Imogen, who is indeed pregnant, makes arrangements for her upcoming maternity leave
Oblivious to the fact that Julius had done the same, she decides to pay Larkin a visit
Although she is motivated by her desire to find her daughter, Imogen cannot help but feel drawn to Larkin
She is shocked to discover Julius had been there before, and begs Larkin to tell her where Fiona is
Influenced by the fae’s allure, Imogen swings from distress to desire, and makes a pass at Larkin, which the fae firmly rejects
She argues with Julius over it, who tries to place the blame squarely on Larkin’s shoulders
A fragile understanding is reached, but the family remains miserable
Rowan receives a magical missive from Fiona, who confirms she is safe and happy in Owl Creek
Jacob visits home and is shocked to discover his mother is pregnant (again)
They have an awkward meal, followed by Jacob confronting his parents about their misguided attempt to fix their family by having another baby
They argue, and Jacob storms off to his room, where he considers his own guilt in the matter
Shortly before her 18th birthday, Fiona unexpectedly returns home

📂 for Sandman
👀👀👀 Sandman my beloved.
Just as Dream 2 was born as a human named Daniel Hall, Despair 2 was born as a Kryptonian named Dara Erok-El.
Death's 2 little fishes in her place are Mazikeen's children. She's been in babysitting duty for the last millenia (Maze is an old friend)
Desire was Miranda Walker's 'teacher' in high school (they wanted to 'make sure' she didn't die before having children as Desire wanted, or that's what Desire tells themself).
Virginia Wolf is one of Despair's little mouses.
Hob and Dream have movies nights but Dream accidentally broke Hob's TV when he saw a Rings of Power's sneak peak.
Tolkien is Dream's new favorite writer (sorry Shakespeare he has a new fandom)
Delirium's flying fish is called Brother. She named him like that after one of her brothers but she can't remember who.
Desire is still fighting Dream over Alianora's custody.
Lucienne/Lucien was a fairy before being Dream's raven.
Death almost never has time to read/watch tv, so most of the knowledge she has about pop culture is because she takes a moment to ask writers about their work when they die.
Merv is Dream's favorite but he'd never say it out loud.
Eve misses Adam :'(
Eve is also Kirby Howell Baptiste. When Adam and Eve appeared on Earth, Death saw her, thought she was pretty, and imitated her form. It's been her favorite form since then.
Hob is friends with Swamp Thing. Once when they were all on the same room, Swamp Thing and Matthew started to fight about a woman named Abby. Matthew started to yell he had "stolen his wife as a Judas". Dream and Hob were very confused.
Death is also friends with Hob but Dream has never noticed because he's been seeing him just once every 100 years.
Hob loves Brazil.

i have done the self care things tm i have also been laying in the dark staring at the ceiling thinking about how the existence of venus mcflytrap in monster high implies the existence of north and south carolina (scare-olina?) since that's the natural habitat of most venus fly traps. also like three monster high characters have the birthday of april 18th including venus. anyways i have been thinking about book series ghoul friends which is why i was thinking about venus and those books were ducking wild like im pretty sure there was like. the monster kkk???? and in this timeline robeccas father apparently was implied to have been fucking politically assassinated but it's ALSO implied he may have survived due to replacing his human organs with robot ones. what the fuck. im fighting sleep meds rn rant over
I believe canonically there just is just a monsterfied version of every irl place, and we know that Louisiana exists since Honey Swamp is from New Goreleans, BSS (Boognited States of Scaremerica,) and Isa Dawndancer is from Boo Hexico. What’s interesting about the monster-fied version of every real life location, is that monsters still have to live in the shadow of the human world, even though they seem to have their own entirely functioning society. Alongside that, sure, a lot of stuff can be explained by magic and monster shenanigans, but how do no normies notice entire cities like Boo York or Scaris? And yet Abby is still just from the actual Himalayas, operating away from humans? Are the monster-fied names just what monsters call them? Why do some monsters have to live there entire life in hiding, high school their only sanctuary, and others get to live in monster Hollywood? Doesn’t Cleo canonically live in Suburbia because she looks human and technically is human? Canonically do they live in their own world with humans, or our world? Because Ever After High is established as the same universe, just different dimension shenaniganary, do monsters also hear the retellings of the fairy tales? And with CA Cupid’s transfer, we are shown that the monsters are actually aware of EAH as a school. Are they just cool with their friend deciding to dimension hop to become a story? Who was the previous Cupid? Did her parents also dimension hop, or is that a part of the story? As shown with the Charming family shuffling around destinys for obscure princes and princesses, and filling in empty rolls, and fixing the incest problem for at least a few generations, does it really matter what your lineage is as long as you have the background to set up your story and sign your name in the storybook of legends? And as shown by the post-credits scene of Boo York, Boo York Apple and Raven are aware that Monster High exists! Does monster high only exist to create stories of the significantly more vague rolls of the monster under your bed? What about-
