Is Abacus Only Mental Maths Practice or a Skill to Be Learned for Life?
Tumblr media
Abacus Maths learning is far from being mere mental maths practice; it is a useful skill that can be a boon for life. Learning abacus maths sharpens one’s abilities in mental maths, concentration, and problem-solving. With time, one develops a better number sense and it boosts memory. It may start as a practice to improve maths, but it benefits way beyond enriching other facets of cognitive development. Here are five such reasons that show working on the abacus is a great mental maths practice that might turn out to be a skill for life.

1. Abacus for Improvement of Mental Maths Practice:
The abacus is a hands-on technique that not only makes maths fun but also helps in developing essential cognitive skills that translate to better overall academic performance. Learning abacus maths works wonders by improving mental maths in kids by engaging their minds in visual and tactile learning. As children practice with the Abacus, they enhance their ability to perform quick and accurate calculations and strengthen their memory.

2. Better Concentration and Focus:
Learning abacus maths is a great way to boost concentration in kids by requiring them to focus on bead movements and calculations simultaneously. This dual engagement of visual and tactile senses helps sharpen their attention span and trains their mind to stay focused on tasks.
3. Enhances Memory and Visualization:
While operating the abacus, one often visualizes the beads and their act of motion in the mind’s eye. Such mental maths practice makes one’s memory stronger and one’s spatial visualization skills sharper, along with all other mental processes associated with such varied activities as remembering a phone number or working out project plans, more effective.
4. Develop a person with patience and perseverance:
Learning abacus maths operations requires much time and effort; hence, it teaches and guides a person with the notion of patience and perseverance throughout the process of hiccups and gradual improvement in skills. These are very important qualities leading to success, be it in learning a new hobby or moving up the overall academic performance.
5. Universal and Timeless Skill:
Abacus maths is timeless, going back hundreds of years and stretching across cultures. Learning to work with an abacus tool relates a kid to the rich history of the mathematical tradition and offers them a universal skill that one can enjoy anywhere in the world.
Abacus Maths is a valuable tool for mental maths practice, offering a wide range of benefits that often extend far beyond basic mathematical calculations, positively impacting various aspects of life.

Scaling Delay
So, because I'm busy right now from life+other events, I'm sorry to say that the next chapter of Scaling will likely be delayed from its 1 month or so minimum update I've done my best to uphold. (For any who are worrying, no it's nothing bad!)
As a minor consolation until it is finished and in an upload-able state, here's a little oversimplified meme completely devoid of surrounding context WillofWinnie cooked up a while back when I was telling her of way further off events in Scaling!
Tumblr media
So yeah. I will say though that there are a lot of long fuses I'm way too eager to pull the trigger on regarding Phares in the end, not least of which a convoluted pun!
For something more relevant, a little snippet from the actual next chapter!
Exaggeratedly, Nedrick clutched his chest as if a physical blow had stolen his air. Somewhere between amusement, skepticism, and horror, he exclaimed, “Leonidas?!”  “Yes, he indeed seems to have been met with a harsh punishment indeed. A valuable reminder that none of us will ever be free of Father’s sovereign jurisprudence. The expectations on him as heir apparent and furthermore a man of the warrior’s code are raised all the higher, and the higher one is, the greater the fall regardless of the gravity of the stumble.” Valyx said, quite grave. “This isn’t a philosophy class, Valyx, you don’t need to get all philosophical about the duties of leadership,” Beren said, giving a wry grin as their brother started to wax morality as was his habit, “Yes, it’s great Leonidas got bit for once despite the fact we all should probably fear for our lives in the proceeding month, but what I’m actually more interested in is Emile’s book, or rather the writing in it. Am I the only one noticing the surprisingly numerous coincidences in Euden’s tale of late and Emile’s narrative, or at least what they have tendered to us?”

You can do math faster and more accurately with this skill, even if you don't have an abacus. Improved Concentration and Focus When students use an abacus for math lessons, they have to focus on the beads and how they move, which helps them pay attention and concentrate better. This helps them focus more, which not only helps their math skills but also makes them better students generally. ✧ ―   𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐍. the regrator is exceptional at mental arithmetic, but uses an intricate abacus whenever he is working at his branches to ensure accuracy. to say he is adept with the tool would be a terrible understatement, for he is capable of solving problems within mere seconds using only a few flicks of his index and thumb. for pan.talone, the mind ( and the world ) works in numerics and patterns, thus can always be deciphered.
