Thinking about Star Wars and the Clones, like one does, and how they should go ahead and make Aayla/Bly canon in Disney.

HOLD UP this isn't just because I really like the ship.

Narratively it would make for a great story for AFTER Order 66

In the Bad Batch we are seeing Clones coming down from the effects of the inhibitor chips.

With Rex we see someone that was able to break free at the beginning, but having to deal with watching the effect happen to his brothers.

With other Clones we see them questioning the orders giving to them.

Cody is also questioning his orders, giving that he was Ordered to kill a man he trust and respected this makes sense. It's a tragic story, but it hits personally because we followed both Cody and Obi-Wan throughout Clone Wars, but it is what all the Clones also went through.

Bly would be an amazing new point of view into Order 66. A soldier who killed the one he loved by actions that were not his own.

What does that do to his mind? When he comes down from the effects of the chip is he horrified? Does he go into denial mode and try and convince yourself that she did something? Does he go AWOL and isolate himself?

Using Aayla and Bly for for this scenario will work best. Not only are fans already familiar with them, but most already ship or think something was going on. Eliminating the need to get watchers attached to all new characters.

Honestly a mini series of shorts looking into different effects and views of Order 66 would be amazing.

She reaches out for him again and follows the pull. On the lumpy sofa, blanket half pulled off the back, is Bly asleep in front of his game, control-keys held loosely on upturned palm and HUD visor dangling around his neck. The instance is still playing even without input, but the AFK notice has blurred the display. Clone Strike 2’s theme song loops, familiar in a way that is sometimes reassuring, sometimes comforting.

He has to be up early again tomorrow; he should already be in bed. He’d tried to wait up for her. She lets her barriers slip, reaches out for his warmth more deliberately. He’s as Force-sensitive as a river rock, but his essence still knows her, still reaches back.

He snorts a little on an exhale and slumps slightly further onto his side. His back and neck will be killing him in the morning if she leaves him here. She needs to wake him up and send him to bed.

Nothing says she has to be utilitarian about it.

Thinking about codywan. Thinking about how some clones keep pictures of significant others or simply people they find attractive in their chest plate as a morale boost. Some soilder’s superstition that if you keep the one you love close to your heart you’ll be stronger in battle. When Cody gets hurt during a mission and has to spend time in medbay, his little brothers have a meeting on why Cody would have a closeup photo of general Kenobi in his armor
