Nothing Feels As Good As Going Home - S.R
Okay!! My ao3 did see this one first (I had edited it late last night and honestly?? I was too lazy to post it on both platforms because I edited it on ao3 and was too lazy to copy, paste, and then write an authors note lmao) and I'm pretty unsure about this as a whole because I'm only eight seasons in and I haven't written for Spencer before, but I'm conquering my fears tonight.
Despite my bio (which will be changed at least fifteen minutes after this has been posted--I have two accounts and I want to do some maintenance for this one because it needs a little TLC I fear) my requests are currently open!! They're wide open to Spencer Reid, Emily Prentiss, Derek Morgan and Aaron Hotchner, even though I'd also likely be willing to write for another criminal minds character if you asked.
Fic type - this one is tooth rotting fluff because I couldn't resist
Warnings - spencer might be a tad ooc because this is the first time I've written for him. This is also set either in or around season eight as, when I wrote this, I was about halfway through that season and I'm currently close to 2/3rds of the way done with it. Cats are also in this one, if you aren't a cat person.
Spencer used to hate going home. He felt like he’d never really know what would be going on the minute he opened the front door and stepped inside, and after his father left, that fear intensified bit by bit.
After his father left, he never knew what it would mean, going home, so he stalled. He’d go to a local park and sit on a bench and read a few books in an hour, maybe two, in order to escape the fear he felt at the idea of going home when he had no idea what would be going on in that house, whether his mother was okay that day or not.
When he went to college and was living in the dorms, he hated going back because it meant more isolation. More loneliness, more of the same, really. Only his books to keep him company and just about nobody else, unless Ethan called, which he usually did two or three times a week. Ethans calls were one of the only things that really helped him when he wasn’t looking after his mother whenever he was on break, typically around the winter and during the summer.
After having his mother institutionalised, he feared going home because it meant that she wasn’t there, and the guilt that came with having her taken into a facility when it wasn’t something she wanted weighed down on him very heavily.
In those last two years pre-FBI, he hated going home because it meant more of the same. More loneliness, more of the same nature documentaries he'd seen a thousand times before if he wasn't putting on the news, and more books that he’d already read several times before haunting him from wherever it was that they sat on his bookshelves, which had been scattered throughout most rooms in his apartment.
But he joined the FBI at twenty-one and managed to meet you somewhere along that year, found out that you’d just started working with the Marshals and had lived only twenty five minutes out from Arlington, which put you about fifteen from Quantico as a whole, and he started hating going home a lot less after you guys had been together for four months.
After four months of dates and getting to know each other, getting home usually meant going on another date or Spencer finally getting the opportunity to call you and stay on the phone for longer than fifteen minutes.
Spencer is very careful about your relationship, though—very secretive, though he doesn’t really mean to be, to avoid teasing from Derek and, four or so years down the line, Emily and JJ, though even Rossi joined in on occasion.
It’s not until he’s on the jet, Alex sitting to his left, JJ across him and Derek diagonally so, that he has to spill the beans.
He gets a text from you and it’s the way that he smiles that gives it away.
Hey, Spence! I cleaned up the house a little bit and went to grab your favourite coffee beans from the bodega we both like. Also: meet Megatron. Her name deceives.
Attached is a photo of a kitten that can’t be more than four or five weeks old, dark brown everywhere except for her paws and chin, which are white.
“Who’s the lucky one, boy genius?” Derek asks.
“Huh?” Spencer looks up, eyes widened slightly. “It’s nobody.”
JJs head tilts. “You wouldn’t smile like that for a nobody,” she says. “Who is it?”
“Is it the one with the dark blue Prius--” Alex starts before she pauses, realizing where she's fumbled. That gets Rossi and Hotch interested, both of whom come to sit in the seats across from the four.
Alex is the only one on the team who knows about you apart from Penelope, which is pure happenstance—his car had broken down once when both she and Spencer had worked a late night, and so you’d offered to pick him up from work so that the two of you could go back to the house you shared and indulge in a shark documentary and some pizza.
“It is,” Spencer nods. “Their name is Y/N.”
“How long have you had a Y/N?” Derek asks.
“Since I was twenty-one,” Spencer admits. “About a decade now.”
“You kept a romantic partner hidden for a decade ?” Derek asks. “How? Does--”
“Penelope knows about them because they’re in the group she goes to on Tuesdays,” Spencer says. “The one for knitting and crocheting—Y/N does the latter, mostly, but they did knit the cardigan I was wearing last week.”
“And how did Penelope figure out about the thing you two have had going on?”
“It’s more than a thing , Derek,” Alex says. “If it’s been going for a decade, it’s more than a thing.”
“We’d gotten done with a case early, and Penelope had left pretty much as soon as we were on the jet so that she could make it to the aforementioned group. I asked them where they were and picked them up with their favourite tea as a surprise. Penelope saw me there, watched us hug, and just about lost her mind. Have I satisfied your thirst for knowledge yet?”
He turns to Alex briefly, nods a bit to answer her earlier remark. “I just proposed last weekend, so you’re right. It’s more than just a thing I would say.”
Derek and JJs eyes widen until their shock is clearly conveyed, and Spencer laughs.
“You have a fiancee, and you just—didn't think to fucking tell anybody?” Derek laughs. “Were you ever going to tell us?”
“I waswe've been busy with work, and it didn’t occur to me.”
“Okay,” JJ nods like she believes it, and that’s good enough for Spencer because he’s telling the truth anyway. “What was the text about?”
Spencer shrugs, paraphrases.
“They wrote me to tell me they’d cleaned up the house and picked up a stray, I think,” Spencer answers. “I mean, the stray part wasn't explicitly stated but—the kitten doesn’t look more than four weeks old, so the assumption was immediate, but they know I can’t say no to cats. They’ve been hoping that they’d find a stray while I was on a case since we first moved into a condo together. We bought our house six months ago now, and they’ve joked, every single time before I’ve left for a case, that it’s the perfect time.”
“What’d they name it?” Rossi asks. “Assuming they didn’t ask for your input. I wouldn’t--I’d have a kitten named Einstein who could never live up to that.”
Spencer can’t help the loving laugh that bubbles up from his throat as his fingers absently locate the chain around his neck, with an engagement ring of his own weighing the chain down just slightly so that the ring sits comfortably at the middle of his collarbone.
“They named her Megatron,” he says nonchalantly. “Smallest cat I’ve ever seen, and still, she’s got big shoes to fill. Massive ones, actually.”
That is enough to get Hotch to crack a smile. For a second, Spencer feels like he’s winning even though a game isn’t even being played.
“Okay, so—how did you do it?” JJ asks. “I mean—ten years and a recent engagement? With only two people on our team discovering through that entire time? How?”
“Penelope figured it out three years in,” Spencer answers. “Alex only figured it out recently, which is kind of surprising because I’ve never exactly hidden their existence. I just haven't talked about them because nobody has ever really asked but—I don’t know, either. We kept it low key because we both work law enforcement and it was just easier that way for the first little while, and then we both decided we liked the quiet so we kept things that way.”
“They work in law enforcement?” Derek asks, his eyes narrowing. “Are they FBI?”
“They’re a Deputy US Marshal, actually,” Spencer corrects. “They work in the Virginia office, which is 45 minutes outside of Quantico, up in Arlington. It’s why I have a twenty five minute commute—we both like our jobs a lot, and twenty-five minutes for me one way is only eighteen minutes for them the other, but I like driving so I don’t mind. They’re in talks for a promotion right now, and they were meant to hear about it today but so far their texts haven’t indicated anything about that.”
It’s the most Spencer has told anyone except his mother about you since you’d gotten together, and while you both normally like to keep things quiet, bragging about you to the people he routinely trusts with his life is a very nice feeling.
“US Marshal?” JJ asks. “They pretty commonly hire ex-military,” she says.
“They’ve never been anywhere near the military,” Spencer laughs. “They did a two year degree at a community college, went to Glynco for training, and were employed by the US Marshals by twenty-one, around the same time I joined the FBI. We met each other at a coffee shop when they were off of work and their local one was closed, so our meeting was kismet.”
Spencers phone buzzes again, and he ignores it that time.
Alex grins at him, while Derek tuts and JJs eyes go to his phone as it buzzes once, then twice more, the fourth buzz coming four and a half seconds after the first, second, and third.
“Check it,” she urges. “The jet is going to land in fifteen minutes, Spencer, so if it’s good news, you might as well.”
SPENCER!!
I have really really REALLY good news
Please tell me your jet is landing soon or the very minute it’s landed call me please because you work twenty five minutes away and that means I can call and order from Antonios and by the time you’re home, you’ll only have to wait five minutes for pizza.
Also, Megatrons full name is Megatron Ichabod Reid. Just so you know. I love you so much you stupid smart handsome tall man.
Spencer doesn’t even try to fight his laugh as he reads.
“Good news?” Derek asks.
“I think they got promoted, but I won’t know for sure til I’m home,” Spencer answers. “Also--Megatrons full name is apparently Megatron Ichabod Reid—their texts read like they’re hyper.”
“I’d be pretty hyper if I got news of a promotion,” Rossi says. “Let us know if they did, though, kid. I’m hosting a dinner to celebrate your engagement regardless, but if they got promoted, it’s another thing to celebrate on the roster, and all the more of an excuse to meet the person you’ve kept hidden from the likes of us for a decade.”
“You guys ordering Antonios?” Alex asks. “You mentioned getting Antonios for dinner the day after I saw you two together. I’m assuming it’s their favourite pizza spot—you don’t really seem like the pizza type. More like a pasta guy.”
“We both love it,” Spencer answers. “There’s no pizza like Antonios—not where we live, anyway. It’s the middle ground between Quantico and Arlington, so there’s not a whole lot to do unless you drive either way.”
“Antonios makes a good pizza,” Rossi nods.
“Their pasta is better,” Hotch interjects. Spencer shakes his head, tries to go back to the book that’s sitting on the table in front of him but fails miserably, waits for the fifteen minutes til the jet lands to be done whilst the rest of the team talks amongst themselves.
The second the jet lands, as he’s walking out of it, he dials your number and you pick up on the first ring.
“Spencer Walter Reid, light of my life and giver of astoundingly lovely forehead kisses, please tell me you’ve landed,”
Spencer laughs. “Just did,” he says. “The team knows about us now, by the way—I smiled when you texted and that lead to Derek questioning me, so there’s that. Also, if the good news is what I think it is, Rossi wants to hold a celebration dinner as an excuse to meet you. He fronted it with our engagement first, but I think he’s just shocked we’ve kept each other under wraps that long.”
“You like Megatrons name?” You ask, giggling a bit, seemingly in spite of yourself. “I’m sorry, Spence—I'm hyper as hell, bouncing off the walls type. I’m going to open a bottle of wine, see if it calms me down a little. Get home as fast as you can, though! I miss your handsome face!”
“Just gotta finish a file or two and then I’ll be home,” he says. “If you order the pizza now, I’ll only be like, five minutes late—the pizza won’t be scalding, like it usually is because of their ridiculously well-working warmer bags.”
“I love you, Spence,” you say, tone turning a little serious. “Get home safe, please.”
“I will,” Spencer nods. “You okay?”
“Hyper but yearning,” you laugh. “I just miss you, ‘s all.”
“I miss you too,” he says. “I’ll be home in forty minutes, tops. I promise.”
The phone call ends, and he doesn’t miss the knowing smiles that are on Derek and Rossis faces. JJ is looking at him mildly confused as the tone of the conversation changed near it’s end, but he doesn’t want to explain, and so he chooses not to say anything.
He goes back into the office, completes what remains of the files he has to work on, and after he submits the paperwork in to Hotch, he just about speed walks out of the office, toward the elevators.
Derek is leaving at the same time as he is. “Goin’ home to Megatron and the singular person who’s managed to keep up with you for the past decade?” He asks teasingly as the doors close.
“Yeah,” Spencer laughs. “I know you guys will tease me about it til the end of my time here, but—yeah. I get to go home to a stray cat the love of my life probably found in the parking lot of a Joanns, and the love of my life themself.”
“I’m all done with my teasing, for now,” Derek says. “I’m just a little confused—why'd you keep them from us for this long?”
“I don’t know,” Spencer admits. “When we’d first started dating, they’d just started out with the Marshals and they were scared having a partner in the FBI would get them special treatment, and then, when the stuff with Tobias Hankel happened and I got into Dialudid, I was scared that I’d make an enemy and then they’d find out about Y/N and use them to hurt me, and it just—we’re the quiet type, so we had reasons til we stopped needing them. I was going to tell you guys before we got engaged, but stuff has just kept happening so quickly in these past couple of years, and it’s kept slipping my mind.”
Derek shrugs, but smiles understandingly. “I get it,” he says. “Lookin’ forward to that dinner Rossi is planning, though. I can’t wait to meet the singular person who probably would let you talk their ear off because they find you handsome or like your voice or something else that’s really sweet. You have a good night, Spence.”
The elevator dings and the doors open, and the two leave separately. Spencer drives a little above the speed limit in the interest of getting home, which isn’t something he’d ever thought he’d do but is doing that night because it’s been a week since you’d last seen each other and he misses you like mad.
When he inserts his key into the lock, unlocks the door and steps inside, he’s not filled with dread or fear or anxiety or loneliness or anything like that—instead, it feels like exactly what it’s supposed to.
As he steps out of his shoes, hangs his bag on the coat rack and hears the sound of your laugh, he registers just how much the place he calls home feels like the word used to describe it.
As he greets you with a hug and a few kisses to the forehead, it feels so much like home that it almost causes an ache in his chest. As you tell him about your promotion from Deputy to Chief Deputy and he hears Megatron the cat meow for the first time, happiness swells within him. Home, for the first time in his life, truly feels like a home. A place where he can unwind and be with those he truly loves, a place in which happiness is practically never-ending.
Going home has never felt so good as going home to you, and Spencer is unsure anything will ever beat it.

guys im so upset about Aaravos tdp...... imagine waiting 6 years for this character u love, your favourite character's lore to drop and its the most devastating thing u've ever heard........
spoilers
wdym his autistic daughter got killed..... im gonna kill *u* (no one in particular).. I understand Aaravos' line of thinking too well now. my heart is so broken i dont think ive felt this upset for a character in a while..... last season was literally a drag to watch and this season was a step up from that at least but i really cant say I even recommend this show unless ur a lore/worldbuilding/Aaron Ehasz-writing nerd like me. BUT GODDAMN ITS WORTH IT FOR AARAVOS' 6 YEAR LONG DRIP FEED LORE. it always was.
one of my biggest gripes of the prev seasons was that it's been retitled "The Mystery of Aaravos" down the line but it never focused on him and that pissed me off so bad (again hes a favourite character) but now its like.. ah.. I get it... still doesnt make the writing and story any better but..yeah.. its all a story about love and that kills me. everything comes back to love and what it makes people do..... thats one of my favorite themes to play around with in fiction and they understood the assignment in that sense. anyway im still so fucking upset. on god Aaravos I'm gonna save u from this godforsaken show. sometimes I feel like that at least. but idk what other media a character like Aaravos could fit in. I wished TDP looked better I guess. but I also like it for what it is. anyway. Aaravos. I love him. I'm so fucking upset. I love him so much
when I said I was gonna breed him so he can be a father again I MEANT IT

i’m sorry but how is the mystery of aaravos not about aaravos. :)
+ the dragon prince arc centered around zym so so fully he had so much screen time in every season even just as an egg. like that’s just not a fair comparison…
plus, zym Is a main character, (the five of us) the only thing making him not as key is that he is basically a dog. aaravos is definitely key too, and he has so much impact in the mystery of aaravos and he hasn’t even had his theatric entrance yet. how can you say he’s not a main character?
aaron even said in the Reel James interview that in s4 we could have gotten more aaravos content without it interfering with anything ToT like even just a small cut to whatever he’s doing in prison. It’s not asking for much at all. rayllum fans get SO much and always ask for more content and tie things back to rayllum all the time but get mad and salty when we do the same with aaravos? like ok. make it make sense.
rebuttal to the first half here (zym and aaravos are not main characters, they are currently by and large macguffins, it is a very very common story convention; arc 1 is about other characters trying to return/protect zym or stop him from going home; he is a motivation, that's not the same as him being a Main Character).
it also may surprise you but i've been in other fandoms before where my favourite characters were #1. completely side lined by their rightful narrative as a core co-protagonist (hi Finn from star wars), #2. minor side characters who didn't need to be more in the story more (hi Kai and Jinora from the legend of korra), #3. killed off or taken out of the show for seasons or both (hi Shiro from voltron) and I only bitched about 1 and 3 for 6ish months each at all because it overlapped with racist and ableist storytelling.
Wanting more of your fave character is understandable, but people don't complain or get up in arms that Gren isn't in every episode, meanwhile I've seen people routinely whine about how the Mystery of Aaravos doesn't have enough Aaravos in it because they ignored the Mystery part of the title. The post in particular, which I think was pretty clear, was about being annoyed that people thought Aaravos himself as a personality/character would be a central focus in s4/s5 and complaining that he isn't, when it's pretty clear in early S4 that well - it's going to be a Mystery, and we're mostly seeing how characters react to the missions or fears he (or others have) given them.
All fans ask for more stuff of their favourite characters (whenever there's a cast and crew Q&A, I always ask about Ezran) no matter how much canon material they already have — that's kind of the nature of fandom, even if people move from wanting more in fanon rather than from canon material cause sometimes things need to / should end.
The reason that so much gets tied back to Rayllum is because they are main characters, the show's main ship (and fandoms already tend to be more ship > solo or brotp heavy, though I'd appreciate more balance on the latter), and because they are thematically and literally connected to the entire cast of the show at least adjacently (largely through Callum as Amaya + Janai get looped in as his aunts) with a lot of parallels.
TDP is the first fandom I have ever been in, in 14+ years in fandom, where my favourite ship was the biggest in a fandom (or in the source material). I've been in your position 99/100, I have sympathy for it. I've just never shown my ass about it

Villareal: Chapter 6, Part 14
A chill but speedy Friday with my pixels.
CW: Moderate sim spice. Content Warning Guide
For ease of reading if the toddlers are trying to say real words I'll put the English in brackets. Luna (mummy) and Devin (mama) use some German and Italian. Bambino/s (Italian) Male child/children Caro (Italian) Dear
The family are sitting down to pasta when Rilian notices Devin’s hair is different…
Rilian: Mama hair? How?
Devin: Caro, it’s called being the watchers favourite. Don’t even need a salon
Alfred: What watcher
Luna: Your Mama and Zio think there is someone watching over us in our life, helping us out and keeping us safe. I don’t but you get to believe whatever you want. Many other sims think the watcher exists
Devin: The watcher loves us bambinos, you can tell
Rilian: How
Alfred: *sings song of watcher adoration*
Devin: Little things. We’re very lucky, always dressed nicely…
Joey: We’re generally happier than the average sim and have nicer names to. There are other things but you’re too young to understand loading screens yet
Luna: It’s a big concept
Rilian: We big
Devin: Well you don’t have to decide if you believe in the watcher or not tonight. And no matter what Mama and Mummy will still love you
Dinner finishes and the toddlers get sorted for bed. Joey knows what he thinks, no nephews of his will grow up not believing in the watcher. Mod dangers lurk everywhere, the boys must be prepared! And stepping back from the paranoid sim…
Devin practices some of the scripts she’s been sent before bed to see how she feels about the characters. There are some interesting ones, she’ll have to get Luna to read them when she has time.
Luna: They’re asleep, shall we turn in
Devin: I hope you didn’t mind me talking about the watcher
Luna: They had to be introduced to the idea sometime. Now come to bed
In the morning Devin tries once again to bring Luna around to the idea of a watcher.
Devin: So how do you think my hair changed
Luna: Plenty of people have sudden hair changes, just look at your sisters
Devin: And you don’t think your brothers look more polished recently?
Luna: I suppose they have tidied themselves up a bit
Devin: Lu the watcher let me impregnate you, how can you not believe in them
Luna: I’m trying it’s just… if there is a watcher why won’t they give me answers about my mum
Devin: Oh... I can get that view. But Lu the watcher works on her own timeframe, I’m sure one day we’ll find out
Luna: Well when we do, then I’ll believe. Deal?
Devin: Deal!!! The watcher is going to help me with this I know it
Following a breakfast where Alfred scoffed and Rilian barely made a dent Devin shepherds the twins to the bathroom. Luna and Joey head to their jobs while Devin makes sure each twin gets squeaky clean. Afterwards the trio move to the master bedroom where Devin works on her acting skill. She reaches level 10! Alfred also maxes his communication skill!
Following a quick trip to Tartosa to give Calista and Aaron some family photos the twins spend their afternoon working on their motor skill while Devin gets her workout in. Look at her doing those laps without even shaking her sunglasses off! Swim done she watches the bambinos while knitting a gift for everyone’s favourite rooster, Mr Cluckton himself!
With Cassandra’s eldest having school responsibilities now the regular Friday best friends lunch play date has shifted to dinner time. Devin gives Cassandra her gift for Cluckton and the Nishidake family and Chopra family descend on the picnic basket for some fish pie and bagels. Unfortunately most are sad due to a mod but hey, at least the gang is together!
Following the picnic Joey gets a notification that he’s matched with another sim who is down for no strings fun. Inviting her in he has to admit to himself that she’s not his normal type (his panel said he found her unattractive, excuse me sir) but woohoo is woohoo and he’s always happy to get some. She expresses interest in his jacuzzi tub so taking her by the hand he shows her.
Joey: The water is good, come on in
Starting to remove her dress Luisa hesitates for a second
Luisa: I should probably tell you… just so you’re not crazy shocked… umm… I probably don’t have the pixel parts you’re expecting
Joey: You see yourself as a woman right? Your profile said
Luisa: Yes…
Joey: Then that’s how I see you. The water in here is good no matter what you do or don’t have under that dress
Luisa exhales in relief and strips off to climb in beside him.
Luisa: Sorry for being weird I’ve just had some… bad reactions
Joey: Clearly jerks. I have to tell you though, this is new to me. Tell me what you want me doing or not doing. I want this to be as good for you as I can see it being for me. I don’t want you being uncomfortable
Luisa: I have a feeling I won’t be. Something is telling me I clicked on the right profile
Joey: It’s my eyes isn’t it? The perfect kind of chocolate to drown in
Luisa laughs and leans down to close the gap between them with a kiss.
Nightmare alert! Poor Rilian has been chased by a monster into a lake of fire. Waking up sad he goes to try find his parents. In their room Luna is working on her next lecture and Devin is practicing her guitar. They both stop when the crying toddler walks in and bundles him up with kisses. Luna carries him to bed and Devin settles him down while Luna tucks in Alfred, making sure he stays asleep. Devin only has to read a few pages before Rilian returns to dreamland, hopefully with less fire.
Pulling the door of the nursery shut the pair are alone in their room where Luna dips Devin into a passionate kiss.
Luna: You are such a wonderful woman
Devin: I’m inspired by my wife *kisses* I know I wanted to wait for a third kid but maybe that was just me being a coward. I shouldn’t assume you’ll get postpartum depression again
Luna: And I shouldn’t assume I won’t be affected again. Perhaps we just need another solution like a surrogate or a science baby
Devin: Do you know how much I love you
Luna: I imagine it’s almost as much as I love you
Undressing each other the pair head to bed.
Luna admits that if she can’t find out if her mother had postpartum depression, it’s wise to avoid her getting pregnant again. And of course Devin has her career to think of, a career where she needs to be in shape. But a baby… they both want another baby. They’ll have to look into the options but they have faith a solution is out there for them. One they can find together.
That’s it for now for the Villareals, see you later Del Sol Valley!

Well, I'm back on the Weird Tarot Project! I'll finish it, one day. Seventeen done, only, what, at least fifty to go? Ah.
Anyway! Time for the Hanged Man, alias, in this version, Aaron Burr. Sir.
First Hamilton character on that project! He is my favorite, after all. But, but, you may think, fellow person who does not know what the hell tarot is about- why The Hanged Man?
Well, well, well. Let's start with upright. That card is here to remind you that, sometimes, you have to put things on hold before you take the next step (that you have, you know, to wait for it :D). It may also mean that your projects may be coming to an unexpected and abrupt halt, like, for example, when one Hamilton endorse a certain Jefferson instead of you. At last, it can mean that you are feeling stuck with your life. For all of this, the lesson is the same: accept the pause, the hold, as an occasion to reflect on yourself, and wait for it.
Don't go shooting your best friend between the ribs, for example.
In reverse, tho, indicates that you feel like other people (mostly Hamilton, right) are responsible for the hold you projects are being submitted to. It also means that your are often content to wait around, that you realize the situation will evolve and you cannot rush it. But beware, Burr-like-person, as you should not want to wait forever; you should acknowledge that there will come a time when you must decide (and well, please don't shoot your best friend). Therefore, the Hanged Man Reversed signals that you are stalling a decision or a action, waiting to be perfectly ready- which you will never be. It encourages you to take the leap! Which Burr did.
A bit too late.
If you read all that, you are now one of my favourite people ever. I hope the drawing pleases you, btw!

sakusa kiyoomi (haikyuu, 33) which catches me off guard literally every time lmfao. bakugou katsuki & todoroki shouto (bnha) are tied second with 30 & then it's haikyuu and bnha the whole way down the rest of the list until #10, which is kevin day (aftg) with 12.
What are your top three pairings?
this one is really making me laugh bc they're all different fandoms LMAO and really speaks to my tendency to like... even when i write a bunch of different ships (see: haikyuu) to still have one ship per fandom that breaks away from the pack in terms of me writing it
bakugou katsuki/todoroki shouto (bnha, 30)
miya osamu/sakusa kiyoomi (haikyuu, 27)
kevin day/aaron minyard (aftg, 10)
What are the top three additional tags?
introspection (22)
canon compliant (14)
developing relationship (13)
this makes me laugh bc i can't decide whether or not i'm surprised by this HKJFDHKJSGAJKH 22 fics tagged introspection seems like a lot, especially when i do often write ensemble antics for haikyuu and bnha, but it's less than a fifth of this particular ao3 acc, so like... square the diff? idk! it's just interesting for me. this is fun ty for the tag clarence
Does any of this surprise you?
i knew the haikyuu and bnha stats generally speaking, like the characters and ships, and i'd had a sense kevaaron had taken the third spot in the ships (tbt may when i was staying with lex and wasn't sure kevaaron even SHOWED UP on my relationships sidebar until mari checked and confirmed for me... and now look at 'em), but i didn't know the ratings or the additional tags, and the additional tags surprised me! so did kevin's appearance in the character list, mostly because it meant i had to hunt through my aftg fics to figure out which fics certain characters appeared in. i'd have had to do that for haikyuu too normally, but i'd looked into that myself recently anyway lmao. it does always make me laugh to see the relationships tag stats on my ao3 bc it doesn't make it easy to guess all the things i like (e.g. my favourite hq ship is not represented anywhere on my ao3) but it does at the least indicate some things i really like lol
Tagging: not sure who's been tagged yet, so @seasy33 @decaflondonfog @mostlymaudlin @naturecalls111 @zukkacore @emdashingly @cubistemoji @jadehqknb & anyone who wants to take a little dive into their filters for some lil stats analysis lmao. and ofc no pressure to play <3

As a lover of Mean Girls, I’d like to share my opinions on the 2024 remake because I’m bored.
I saw both the original movie and a recording of the Broadway musical about a month ago (although I have been rewatching the musical like 4 times just this week. I love that damn show). I saw the first half of the remake today, up until the talent show part.
From what I’ve seen so far, it’s good and has been fun to watch. However, it is definitely deserving of the criticism it has been getting. Here are some things I’ve noticed up to this point.
A Cautionary Tale was fun. I enjoy how they incorporated more modern technology into the movie. I also think the casting is great, and it’s cool seeing how different people take on a role. Especially this Janice. Definitely very different from the original one, but still did an excellent job.
They replaced Cady’s first song, I noticed. I don’t like the replacement that much, but the original wasn’t my favourite to begin with, so it’s not that bad of a change. Also is she fatherless now? Maybe he appears later in the movie, or there’ll be an explanation later on. But idk.
School sequence was decent. Ms. Norbury is one of my favourite characters, and that belief still rings true in this movie.
They removed Where Do You Belong :(. In fact, Damien’s character as a whole felt far different, which I’m not a fan of. The actor still did an amazing job, despite this!
Did most of Meet The Plastics also get removed? Damn. I thought that was like, one of the defining songs of the Broadway show. At least they kept Regina’s part, but still disappointing in my opinion.
Stupid with Love is.. bland. Boring. Ew. Originally it was so much fun and woah and yippee! I saw a YT short comparing the “I’m astounded and nonplussed” portion of the song in the original and new Mean Girls and there is such a difference T-T. Also I don’t like Aaron in this movie. He’s never been a character I liked, and this movie definitely didn’t help his case. I don’t really know why, though.
Apex Predator is actually kinda good. The song is spectacular in the original, so it would be incredibly hard to mess it up here. While the singing is not ideal (more the style of singing rather than the singers themselves, they are wonderful singers and very suitably cast for their roles), I loved the choreography.
What’s Wrong With Me was also great! Not the same vibe, but still brought along the message nicely. The thing with the music box was so cute <3. Rahh Gretchen will always be my favourite little bean. A criticism I have here is that Regina is honestly not as good as the original movie/musical. There, she was manipulative. She was condescending and sarcastic and passive aggressive to her friends, yet deceptive enough for them to remain with her, following her every command. Whereas in the 2024 remake, she’s just mean. She is just outright rude and calling her friends names out of nowhere. Which really doesn’t work as well. For example, in the Broadway show, Regina said “Gretchen, she gets it” before walking off. Also, it’s missing Gretchen’s iPhone analogy, which is unfortunate but doesn’t really affect much in the long run. However, in the new movie in the same scene, while I can’t remember the exact line, Regina calls Gretchen insults before asking her to find some shoes for Cady, which gives a really different feekng. Finally, while we’re on the topic of this song, Regina’s mother is great as usual!
Sexy was alright. Not the best, but not too bad. The use of the phone in the first part was cool, once again. I don’t know whether the pause in the middle of the song was something I liked or not. I prefer the old choreo, but this was pretty nice too. Not much more to say about it.
Someone Gets Hurt was great. Less upbeat and dramatic than the original, yet still effective. Once again, I really loved this song before, and they did it well in the new movie. The whole house party sequence was definitely a bit weak, but Someone Gets Hurt helped a lot. The part where Damien explains Janice’s tragic gay backstory™ was cool. I don’t know whether I like this as much as her Space Alien With Four Butts thing, but it works well. Also Pyro Lesbian is a fun title to have.
Revenge Party. Always a banger. Super fun scene to watch! I probably prefer this over the original, to be honest!
Anddd that’s the extent of what I watched! Overall, it’s been a great movie so far and I’m excited to watch more. The singing and choreography is very well done, although the original choreography will always be spectacular. Gretchen is as loveable as usual, and everyone is really well cast! Unfortunate how many songs are missing, but understandable.
I’m probably forgetting about a lot, but this is all of what I remember. I hope I’m not being too picky or whatever. I also haven’t read any other reviews (other than seeing the occasional video or whatever when the movie first released), so my opinions may not fit that of the majority. But I’m just a silly rat sharing his opinions :3.
#Mean girls#mean girls musical#Mean girls 2024#mean girls movie#review#I’m aware it’s 3am#I swear I’ll sleep soon. Maybe.

Just finished season five!!!!!!
Idk if anyone even wants to know my opinion but I’m incapable of keeping a thought to myself anymore so hi void it’s me again.
I barely stopped to breathe since 5x01 so I didn’t really post much of my reactions
But omg the chenford pay off was amazing they are so cute I wanna cry
Their chemistry is off the charts, their soft scenes and sort of subtle intimacy are so perfect and what I love is that they still have a dynamic that is like their old one.
I feel what some shows fuck up is that sometimes after a couple becomes canon, their past dynamic becomes unrecognisable to them when they’re canon but what this show does really well here is that chenford are intimate, affectionate, and act like a couple but still act like friends too like they still have the teasing and the pranks and the making sarcastic jokes too. It doesn’t feel like friends who suddenly turned in love it feels like what it’s supposed to be which is friends who have loved each other for a while now allowing themselves to love each other as something more.
Also I love that it went: Ashley breaks up with Tim unless he chooses to retire or take a desk job, then a few episodes later when chenford get together and he has to get out of her chain of command he’s like okay imma take a desk job whatever it takes🤷🏽♀️
Omg and the fact that Aaron was definitely onto them without speaking to either about their relationship like Angela called Tim out and that was a 10000/10 moment but there is something so funny about aaron in the back being scared of saying anything while he is definitely implying something with the “if I let you die Lucy will kill me so I’m dead either way” and the accusing Tim of doing that undercover thing with the kid because it’s better for Lucy’s career.
This is why the only thing I would’ve wanted more cos I’m greedy is seeing everyone’s reactions to chenford dating reveal- tbh I feel like ALL of them knew and were NOT subtle about it.
Overall my favourite characters are the same
Least favourite tho I would say either Celina or Aaron idk I am not vibing with Celina’s psychic spiritual thing and since that’s like 80% of what we see from her it’s not really enough for me to like her sorry 😔and I like Aaron but I’m not really attached to him like I thought maybe he’d grow on me like Jackson but he’s had time (it seems from the finale he’s out of time too😬)
Oh and I have no clue what that finale was I’m so confused. And I just realised that I’m gonna have to watch season 6 live and get demolished by the writers’ love of cliffhangers.
Oooo and a scene I loved from the finale was when nyla thought they took her daughter. I loved how that was executed from the acting to having nyla fall multiple times, because I feel like that was so realistic and emotional cos she is a detective, she’s so put together and experienced you’d think she wouldn’t stumble but this is HER DAUGHTER she is not gonna be able to to be calm or act like she knows she would in her job.

Hi are you still here? If so can I ask you, what do you think about the vampires? What do you like about them? Or don’t like? What are their qualities? Just something fun if you wanna do it
Thank you for all the hcs and writing you’ve done, I loved every single one of them. Hope you have a nice autumn 🍂🎃🫶🏼
Hi! How are you? I hope you are well! ^^
I'm back! ^^ I'm glad you like my headcanons ^^. I hope autumn is going well for you too. Autumn is my favourite season, along with winter. I'm just sorry that the trees haven't got their orange-red leaves on yet this year. Well, at least my cat finally thinks that the weather isn't good enough to stay out until five in the morning, so I can sleep safe in the knowledge that she's at home ^^'.
These are interesting questions and I'll try to be brief. Which isn't always easy for me as I love vampires ^^'.
The first vampire book I really enjoyed was Dracula. I'd read other vampire books before, such as Twilight, Stefan's Diary, The Vampire Diaries and Comment se débarrasser d’un vampire amoureux (I think the English title is Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side, but but having read the French translation I'm not sure of the original title.) and Comment sauver un vampire amoureux ((Jessica Rules the Dark Side in English, I think) (my third and second favourite on the subject).
I'm not really picky when it comes to vampires themselves. If I had to give an example, the fact that vampires shine in the sun in Twilight doesn't bother me in the least. What I'm really going to be looking at in a story with vampires is the ability of humans to be able to kill them and so that's what bothers me about Twilight because humans can't do a 1VS1 against a vampire and come out on top and to me that makes the story horribly boring. I want to be able to integrate my human and vampire hunter OCs, if I can't then I get bored quickly (plus, for Twilight I didn't like either Edward, Jacob or Bella, which is rather problematic when they're the main characters… )
Another thing I really regret about vampire films/manga/series/books is the lack of really badass female characters. I want a female vampire who saves the poor little human man from the vampires who want to kill him, I want the female vampire hunter who protects the male vampire who clearly doesn't know how to fight and spends his time hiding in the face of danger. I want epic lesbian romances where an ordinary young woman falls madly in love with a big, powerful, brave woman vampire who is prepared to fight to protect her.
Generally speaking, what I like about vampires is the atmosphere. If I could, I'd dress like Vladimir or Raphael to go out and it would be wonderful.
I love old manor houses lost in the middle of the woods, the slightly spooky atmosphere, the fog, the peace and quiet, the old furniture, living at night rather than during the day.
If I were a vampire, I'd be the cliché vampire, dressed in old clothes, hiding in his manor, hating visitors and daylight. I'd be depressed about my immortal life, writing and reading, and at the same time I'd be hoping with all my heart that one day a nice human would come along and steal my heart away. At first, I'll be a bit cold with her, but kind, just cold and anxious like someone who's not used to social relations. Then, little by little, she would discover that my coldness in the face of strangers was just great social anxiety. We'd fall in love and live forever in my manor. And we'd dance the waltz in the moonlight in a beautiful garden, that's another important detail I'd like in my romance.
As far as Moonlight lovers are concerned. My two favourite characters are Vladimir and Raphaël, with a slightly stronger preference for Raphaël. The one I like least, I hesitate a lot maybe Aaron or Ethan. But I like them all the same, I just don't think I'd have much of a chemistry with them. The route I think is the best is Beliath's, Vladimir's is really good too, but I have problems with the positive ending. The worst route is Ivan's, without the slightest hesitation and yet I like Ivan, he's not my favourite, but I like him.
What I really like about Vladimir is that his character is a bit like me… I don't go out much, people who meet me for the first time see me as cold, I like 19th century English men's fashion, I like gardening, I've had several depressions and I don't like change. And also, he totally fits the vampire cliché and I really like the melancholy vampire cliché.
Beliath, if I forget that I adore Vladimir and Raphaël, I think this is the road to play. The only time he really annoyed me was in chapters 1 and 2, but for the rest he was quite nice and I'd make him my friend, even if he is very exuberant. He's more the cliché of the seductive, flirtatious vampire, a cliché I'm less interested in as it's not really what I'm looking for, but as Beliath is rather nice, that would be fine.
Ivan, I don't like him in his own road, but I like him in the other boys' roads. He's not the clichéd vampire type, sad and melancholy that I enjoy the most, but he's not mean. What's more, I don't really get the impression that the other boys are helping him much. I mean, Ivan seems to have very little self-confidence and Ethan's constant bullying is clearly not helping him regain that self-confidence.
Aaron, he's not my favourite. But I like his character traits, I like the fact that he writes poetry. I really like his loyalty, he's quite protective of those close to him, so again, he's the kind of guy I'd like to be friends with. Maybe I'm just mad at him for not wiping his feet on the carpet when he gets home, we learn that he does that in chapter 3 of Beliath. And I'm sorry Aaron, but I really want to shout at people when I've spent my morning washing on the floor and someone allows themselves to leave mud everywhere when they come home, Vladimir wouldn't be the only one shouting at you, I'm sure I could be worse than Vladimir at that.
Raphaël is my favourite. He's sweet and romantic. I couldn't ask for more. What's more, he's a fencer, with a rapier, it's just a magnificent sword, I love rapiers. And his clothes are wonderful, really. He's sensitive and not ashamed of it, which I love. He can play several musical instruments and he's cultured (well, they all are, but I'd probably find it easier to talk to Raphaël and less afraid of being called stupid). He's typically the kind of person that I, a shy person, would approach without being too scared. Of course his bad ending is rather peculiar but it fits Raphaël so well that I'm just (Yes, logical. Coming from someone who would probably find the death of Romeo and Juliet more romantic than tragic, I can't expect anything else…)
Ethan, I find the most difficult to write. I like him, but I know that in real life we wouldn't get on at all. After that, like Aaron, he has qualities that I really like, he's intelligent, like Aaron he's protective and loyal, even if it's not as visible, and he knows how to remain calm in difficult situations. I also like the fact that we see a softer side of him in his route, because if I had to do his character solely with Ivan's route, for example, it would be really complicated to make him sympathetic.
Neil, the cliché of the powerful vampire. Strangely enough, I like it. I'm worried for him in his bad ending, given that he pairs up with an 18-year-old Eloise who has knowingly decided to kill people she's been close to for several months. Every time I think about this ending, I say to myself "And are you sure about your choice, Neil? She still decided to coldly murder several people at just 18, people who had done her no harm, just to keep you and a mansion all to herself. She quickly became powerful for a young vampire. Do you seriously think she'd let you go without consequence if you ever wanted to leave her? I have my doubts and as you've just murdered potential allies you may have just coupled up with a yandere and that's not a good sign at all." Anyway, I hope the bad ending isn't too bad for Neil, because I'm not worried at all about Eloise in this ending. In my opinion, she's going to live her best life as a powerful vampire.

Black Libary Writer Ranking?
I'm notoriously bad at remembering names, so I really only remember authors who either excite me a lot or completely horrify me. So it's probably not really a ranking!
My favourite author is (who would have guessed!) Josh Reynolds. He manages to fill action sequences with life just as much as he fleshes out his characters and brings in the most interesting supporting characters, all of whom are not just background noise but drive the plot and have their own agenda. And by the way, his language is beautiful and a pleasure to read.
Then follow Nick Kyme and Chris Wraight. You can just tell Nick Kyme loves his characters (even if he kills them off a bit too often for my taste!) and is keen not just to churn out a plot, but to bring background and expand the universe.
Chris Wraight is also a fantastic world builder. And, incidentally, someone who tries not to fall into stereotypes too often. And someone else whose language I really like and who takes the trouble to bring in a lot of background.
I like Abnett occasionally. He's written the best versions of Lucius and Saul, and his "Know No Fear" is my benchmark for disaster movies. Uhh … disaster books? He can do timing and he can do action. What he can't do for a nickel is female characters. Every one of his women is "not like the other girls" at its purest. And the fact that in every one of his stories humans have to be given a supporting (yeah, most times even main) plot line, even if the novel is about Space Marines or Primarchs, is absolutely not my thing.
Ian St. Martin has delivered solid entertainment with the 40k Lucius stories and the infamous landmine short story made me laugh a lot. For the most part, I really liked the side characters he served up. Can and should certainly write more about the Emperor's Children. At least when he hits the brakes a bit on the Slaanesh stuff.
Aaron Dembski-Bowden is a very solid author as well. I love how he dives into his characters and tries to bring out the best and most interesting sides in them. At least with the canon-characters. His OCs tend to be very similar and I'm not that into troubled emo-boys. 😁
Honourable mention for John French, I quite liked "Slaves to Darkness".
I think Guy Haley is okay. No particular thoughts on that. So how he handles the Fabius/Cawl book will be a key experience for me as far as he is concerned.
Anthony Reynolds, the author of the Word Bearers 40k books, has undoubtedly made an effort and Burias, Marduk and Kol Badar are also quite great characters - but unfortunately he can't really write a story. He has a pattern and he follows it in every book. In every one.
Not quite the big hit for me is Steve Parker. I love Kill Team Talon. These guys are entertaining and have a fantastic dynamic. Great fun to read and I'd like all the books to be about them too. Unfortunately they aren't. Instead you get over half the pages of boring inquisition plot and misogynist crap of the highest order. Unnecessary. Could be so nice! (Almost as bad as McNeill's famous bouncing boobies. And ten times more "not like the other girls" than Abnett). Please Kill Team Talon by another author! I like them too much.
Who's at the bottom of my list is probably well known, and I've already explained in detail why I need a restraining order for McNeill to stop him writing anything for the Emperor's Children.
I've now probably forgotten about ten authors or so that I also have an opinion on. But I can add them when I get a chance!

A (Not So) Weekly Wrap-Up - Black Mirror Special
FULL SPOILER WARNING FOR SEASON 6 OF BLACK MIRROR
Overall Thoughts
I think I’m done with Black Mirror, and I think Charlie Brooker is to because most of these episodes completely disregard the shows formula and message to the point where it’s unrecognisable outside of the title screen. Every episode runs at least ten to twenty minutes too long and somehow leaves concepts unexplored. At the end of every episode I was left unsatified at the lack of exploration into the consequences of prior events: How does Davis feel about the fact that he was raised by two serial killers? etc. I’ll review every episode, but you’ll be able to tell that I on;y really enjoyed two of them...anyway
Joan Is Awful
An average woman is stunned to discover a global streaming platform has launched a prestige TV drama adaptation of her life - in which she is portrayed by Hollywood A-lister Salma Hayek.
By now, I’m sure you’ve heard all kinds of jokey titles like Joan is Awful IS AWFUL, and I’m not here to repeat them. The concept is a little conceited but is pulled back around by the reveal at the end that we are watching one of many realities. Like I mentioned in my overall thoughts, the episodes fails when it comes to expanding on the consequences and how it impacts the characters. for example: imagine being layer 1 Joan and finding out you’re entire existence is fake and you’re actaully the digital likeness of Annie Murphy, that would fuck you up right? But we don’t see how that makes layer 1 Joan feel and I wish we did.
Loch Henry
A young couple travel to a sleepy Scottish town to start work on a genteel nature documentary - but find themselves drawn to a juicy local story involving shocking events of the past.
I can easily see how this and Beyond the Sea would be people’s favourite episodes of the season and, while this one’s up there, it isn’t quite my favourite (we’ll get there). While this episode has one of those gut-wrenching twists akin to The National Anthem and Shut Up and Dance, enough happens after the reveal to distract me and it left me unfullfilled. I also feel like it meanders too much before starting the story proper and then doesn’t set a solid tone. It tries to be scary, then shicking, then emotional but it doesn’t sit with these long enough to quite grasp any of them.
Beyond the Sea
In an alternative 1969, two men on a perilous high-tech mission wrestle with the consequences of an unimaginable tragedy.
FINALLY WE’RE EXPOUNDING ON THE CONSEQUENCES....sort of. I have the fewest notes on this episode, because it’s the most ‘Black Mirror-y’ of the season. I want to immedietely sing Aaron Paul’s praises, I had no doubt that he was going to deliver on an insane level. Calling back to my overall thoughts, the episode is just too long and I was bored just after the halfway mark; maybe that’s a me problem, maybe that’s the episodes problem.
Mazey Day
A troubled starlet is dogged by invasive paparazzi while dealing with the consequences of a hit-and-run incident.
This was the point in the seasonn where I just about gave up... now I know you’ve seen endless amounts of criticism for this episode and it is entirely warranted. Plainly put, this is not a Black Mirror Episode, this is a rejected Twilight Zone concept and I half expected Rod Serling to start talking as it zoomed out of the diner at the end. I also would have loved to have actually watched the transformation, but it was accompanied by TWO WHOLE MINUTES of flashing lights and I would prefer to not risk hospitalisation when watching a TV show thanks :)
Demon 79
Northern England, 1979. A meek sales assistant is told she must commit terrible acts to prevent disaster.
We have reached my personal favourite episode. Is this a Black Mirror episode? No, it’s an extended Inside No. 9 episode. Did I have a lot of fun watching it? Yes. This episode has some fun humour sprinkled through and the dynamic between Nida and Gaap is great.

Thank you for doing this! And also thank you for making me aware of the personality tests hehe :))
I got equal amounts type 4 and type 8 on the chart and I’m an INFP. (I don’t know what these mean I hope it isn’t bad 😭)
What is you go to way to fall asleep?
A lot of the time I stay up so late that I fall asleep without even meaning to but if I can’t sleep then sleep aids or sad music do the trick more often than not. And if we’re talking about positions I always sleep on my side with like one leg up. I know it’s bad for your back but it’s sooo comfy.
What redacted boy holds no appeal to you and why?
Ollie is probably my least listened to. He seems like a really sweet character but I just can’t seem to get into his videos, I would say it might be because they’re more mundane than the others but my other two least faves (out of the love interests) are probably Gavin and Vincent so that doesn’t add up.
Tell me about the one book/movie/tv show you know all the words too.
Bojack Horseman. I think the shows really clever and I often find myself rewatching and finding new details every-time. I think it’s a bit of a comfort which is strange since the main character is basically always in trouble for something but a lot of the characters talk about relatable things that I’d never seen anyone else mention before.
If you had to change your name what would it be and why?
Laurie. My mum wanted to name me that when I was born but my dad didn’t like it. I prefer it to my irl name so probably that. I’ve also always liked the name Parker.
Which Redacted boy are you platonically attracted too?
Huxley. I’m not too sure why I think it’s cause he’s so easy going. I love camping and also find myself a digging holes a lot so that could also be a reason lol but if I could hang out with any redacted character it would definitely be him.
Which song are you fixated on and why?
The boys are back in town by thin lizzy. There’s not a specific verse or anything it just came on randomly whilst I was running and now I can’t stop listening to it I’d completely forgotten it existed.
Do you have a go to thing you ramble about when tired?
If I’m tired I tend to not be very talkative at all. I prefer listening to other people talk but if I am in a rambling mood it would probably be about things that happened irl or Animals.
What is your favourite of redacted audios and why?
Besides my favourite characters entire playlist. I’d say either the inversion or Aaron’s sleep aid. I really like the inversion I just think the story telling and emotions are amazing and you get to hear so many different characters. And there’s just something about Aaron’s sleep aid that make me feel happy. I think it’s the way Smartass falls asleep in the chair with him.
I hope this isn’t too long and if you have a lot to do don’t worry about skipping this one! Happy time zone friend!!
Hmm, this was a thunker, since Four and Eight are a really interesting combination. What I think they have in common is an intelligent independence, a self-reliance that Elliott could really work with.
Both Fours and Eights seem to be characterized by a strong sense of identity- they have an unshakable confidence in who they are and who they want to be. Elliott strikes me as an excellent partner for this type of person, because he’s very supportive and loving in his own genial, earnest way, if you know what I mean? He would be neither overbearing nor neglectful. Elliott would just always be by your side, encouraging and kind and ready to support you however and whenever you may need.
Additionally, I think you and Elliott would like a lot of the same things~ You mentioned loving camping, which reminded me of the dreamscape he made with the campfire by the lake and made me picture of the two of you going together, fighting over who gets to control the aux cord on the way there. I can also see him coming over on another normal Friday night and ready to settle in for a night of watching your favorite show together.
Song:
I want the world in my hands/ I hate the beach/ But I stand in California with my toes in the sand/ Use the sleeves of my sweater/ Let's have an adventure
Elliott strikes me as a The Neighbourhood boy, and I cannot put into words why. He just is. I like this song for him in particular because the vibes and tone of it are so romantic and dreamy (pun intended). It’s the kind of song on the kind of playlist he’d have for your nights together- chill, lo-fi kind of tunes that would play while you talk through the night or fall asleep together.
Runner-Ups:
Damien was definitely a contender for runner-up. Other than the Enneagram type, where I think of Damien as a Six, I think y’all have a lot of similarities like your sleep hygiene and the type of shows you like. James strikes me as another good match because of his stable, solid temperament that I think would match well with a thoughtful, independent partner.
Note: thank you so much for waiting! The long distance bf flew into town, so I’ve been distracted, but I’m hoping to get back into the swing of things 💕
Read this post and send me an ask if you’d like a match-up of your own! 💌

and you relate to Jesper. i relate to wylan. seems to me like we were meant to be. and honestly can we all agree that wesper it's just wolfstar in another font
are you going to the eras tour, I don't know if I asked you this but I'm going to london 15 august (I'm gonna listen to august in august and I may as well lay on the floor in a puddle of tears)
ok so, I have read more of your fics. and I think my favourite one it's the james potter one, it got me giggling and kicking my feet like mad. a friend of mine says that he's a red flag in the canon but maybe I'm colorblind who knows. I also read some of the Remus lupin ones too because the taylor swift references title got me to be honest. I don't really like aroon warner as I only read the first book in the shatter me series and I got enough with it, so that one it's not for me, then I like sirius but not in a romantic way so it would be weird for me and Remus more or less the same but I can make an exception for him.
but anyways I might as well read them all because I love you and everything you do
I love this little girl talks we have it's like sending each other letters through mail and answering everything while adding new information

I LOVE HISTORY!!! It's just so interesting and beautiful.
and yes!!! you did mention London, surprisingly i managed to remember it as I have a memory of a goldfish
i love fantasy.... but also classics but also JUST BOOKS OKAY I LOVE BOOKS
someone who appreciates james🥹 james potter is my husband like i love him on a whole new level. but my remus fics seem to be liked better
aaron warner ones are the ones that get least interaction, but i still love writing for him. and tbh you either love shatter me or don't read it after the first one, there's literally no middle ground
if you ever do read all my remus ones (which is okay if you dont) tell me your fav one!!

ok watched ep2 and. huh. I feel much the same as with ep1 tbh.
buildup was better, felt less rushed than ep1, and while I hate that deirdre woke up and was then murdered, I'm happy that they at least killed her off instead of keeping her alive -- that would've changed the story wayyyy to much in my opinion
I do think rowan got to new orleans a bit too quickly but, well, it takes her ages in the book to get there so I understand why they'd change it for tv
and I want to like ciprien, I really do, but I just. still really really dislike the combining michael and aaron into one character -- possibly it's bc michael's chapters are some of my absolute favourite chapters that anne rice has ever written, and it would've been cool as a prologue of sorts to see michael growing up and being obsessed with the house and seeing lasher -- I feel like not having michael's pov and his knowledge of new orleans takes smth away from the world; it feels less. idk. alive? like, the only people in the world of new orleans are the mayfairs?? while in the book there's so many people who are only tangentially involved with or related to the mayfairs -- and I get that you can't have that many characters on a tv show, but that doesn't mean I have to like it
also, what's up with addition of a murder investigation into deirdre's death? what's the point of that?? like, even if she had been murdered (by carlotta for example) then it would've been with a heartache or smth inconspicuous, not by slitting her throat in the lift??? like, I don't think that's gonna add anything interesting to the story
I do still love alexandra daddario tho -- she looks nothing like I imagined rowan but she's got the essence of rowan, perfect mix of icy intellect and human warmth
and tho I don't like ciprien, I really like tongayi chirisa -- I really wish he'd been cast to play michael
am kinda on the fence abt Mayfair Witches so far -- it doesn't feel anywhere near as sumptuous as iwtv, and the story feels kinda,,, rushed? idk, the buildup to the deaths in ep1 wasn't really there for me -- what makes especially lemle's death impactful for rowan in the book (where it's part of her backstory obviously) is that he's her mentor, she's been working with him for years, and she's almost corrupted by him
I don't remember keck at all, I think he's made up for the show? idk -- but it also feels odd that they would make up a new character for rowan to kill instead of using her adoptive dad
I do like that we got to see ellie mayfair and that she got a bit of a story
I don't mind that ellie knows abt the talamasca (can't remember if she knew in the book) or that she contacts them, but I don't like that they've combined michael and aaron into one character; I've always loved michael for the contradictions of him (blue collar, self made, college educated, intellectual) and combining him with aaron kinda erases those contradictions -- and I think some of the story is lost if michael isn't there with his new orleans background and his near-death experience
(also, erasing michael means erasing the meet-cute of rowan saving him from drowning which sucks)
(wanna stress this is nothing to do with the actor being black; I would've loved for a black man to play michael -- that could even work as a change from the Irish roots of book!michael)
having the guy who's gonna become the love interest be a member of the secret magic society kinda feels too --- cw teen drama imo
also aaron lightner is just a neat guy, like, he's old, he's british, he's an intellectual, he's psychic, he's everyone's grandfather, idk, I just love him, and I think removing him takes smth away from rowan -- denies her a guide in a way
actually, that also does smth to the dynamic between rowan and michael/ciprien bc in the books it's like. rowan is far superior intellectually to michael, and there's no doubt she's in charge; as outsiders to the supernatural world, they're on even footing re. knowledge of what's going on, but by making ciprien a member of the talamasca, they lose that equality; now he's suddenly the one with answers, the guide she has to look to -- and I don't like that
I'm very curious to see what's gonna happen with deirdre tho bc the preview kinda suggested that she's gonna wake up from her sedation -- which would be a humongous departure from the books (and not a change I'm personally in favour of)
also its seems they've combined carlotta and nancy into one character which just. Doesn't work
I do very much like alexandra daddario tho, I think she's really well-cast, and the same goes for harry hamlin as cortland -- cortland has always been a favourite character of mine, and harry hamlin seems to have hit the nail on the head with him
