To both HLVRV fans and Fallen London fans, I am so, so sorry for what I've drawn completely unrelated correlations to. (I'm lying I regret nothing.)
#So#99% of The Merry Gentleman's design here is absolutely noncanon.#But I realized while drawing them that the “making them taller than my literal tallest character—#that ISN'T a sort of eldritch entity from space that I associate with cyan/blue#(Not G-Bitch)#—and giving them weird ominous fog that ever constantly follows them#and the fact that I gave these idiots heels#[This is where headcanon starts kicking in‚ bewarned]#aaand the fact that they would chase you across an entire city if only for dream related reasons#(Thanks Chnle for the senario of Sleepless chasing Hypnos across several streets because I stayed up late and refused to go back to sleep)#(Several crimes and annoyed shouts of grievances that the other was being stubborn had dawned that night.)#And about the first point:#I once misread a post Mothr o made for SL being taller than literally everyone(including other G-Man) but G-Bitch/GVRV at some point.#I thought it was too funny to take back—#Have I mentioned that I loved both(ish) while they were shadow-y then disliked them slightly after they reveal themselves?#Have I mentioned that I still fucking despise May?#But he's fun to draw like this unfortunately.#Have I mentioned I have several scenarios I could've drawn to correlate these two more obviously but I feel asleep before it?#HLVRV#Fallen London#HLVRV Dr Sleepless#The Merry Gentleman#The Manager of the Royal Bethlehem Hotel#I think.#I have more doodles I've forgotten to post but I thought this one most urgent. Especially since HLVRAI has my mind at gunpoint now.#Most are FL OC posting. And approximately ONE doodle of HLVRV Doc (It may increase in amount.)

oohhh, pokemon games or your personal pokeverse for the meme?
OOOOH, this is going to be really hard, since there are so many characters that I’m sure I’m going to forget some, but I will try! Also, these two things are kind of one in the same for me, because I adapt the games to my personal ‘verse as they come out. So like, for me, even if they’re technically not, the Red and Green we see in the Gen VII games would be, in my ‘verse, my versions of Red and Green. (And Leaf is also there, but she was drawn to the Aether Foundation because she was curious about Ultra Beasts . . . oh Leaf, what did you get yourself into?)
But hmmm, okay, let’s see---
Zinnia --- MY GIRL, MY LOVE, THE LEGEND, THE LOREKEEPER. BEST CHARACTER IN THE GAMES HANDS DOWN, 500/10, BEAUTIFUL, FANTASTIC, ASTOUNDING, A++++, WHY DOES NINTENDO KEEP TREATING HER LIKE DIRT, I’LL NEVER UNDERSTAND.Okay, now that that’s out of the way, I love Zinnia. Okay? I really love Zinnia a lot. She’s hands down easily my favorite character across the games, period, and I am beyond salty that Pokémon Generations denied her an episode. Like, honestly, my salt for this exceeds even my salt that they used Blair instead of Lea in the B2W2 shot, and that’s saying something. (Even if it just barely surpasses it. Just barely.) I love everything about Zinnia. I love that she has the best Trainer Class in all of the games (LOREKEEPER, how cool is that?!). I love that she comes from what is heavily implied to be an aboriginal race of people in the Hoenn region, that this is just a part of her character but does not define her (and that this is even lampshaded, with this exchange:STEVEN: “You’re the---!”ZINNIA: “The Draconid, yup. But you can just call me Zinnia.”This is after she has introduced herself, so Steven really has no excuse---and Zinnia calls him on it in a way that feels completely natural and flows with the script. Love it. I love her sass, and her snark. I love her determination. I love that she knows she has to sacrifice herself and she tries to look for another way, suggests that the others come up with another way, but when she sees that there isn’t she does what must be done anyway because she knows she has to. And I relate to her, too, in her grief over Aster; Shiloh died shortly after the ORAS games came out (they released in November of 2014, and Shiloh died in my arms on 9 January 2015), and so I was playing the Delta Episode right around that same time. Zinnia’s speech about the original Aster hit me hard, becuase that is exactly how I felt about Shiloh, right down to:“We were always together, in good times and in bad. I loved her . . . I loved her with everything I had, but . . . I still lost her.”Word for word, that’s how I felt about Shiloh. Her grief, her desire to do anything to see Aster again---I empathize, oh so deeply.I love Zinnia. I love everything about Zinnia. Fandom hates her, but of course they do, fandom always hates my faves. But I love her. I just wish Nintendo could show her the same amount of love. //salty4life
Leaf Tyler --- I am always, always, always going to have a soft spot for Leaf, the girl who I honest to goodness wish had been in the original Kanto games (and she was originally going to be, but it was either a time issue or a cartridge space issue or both that kept her out), the girl that I know eight-year-old me would have latched onto with a grip so tight you’d think she had rigor mortis on top of being frozen solid. I’ve of course fleshed her out far beyond anything Game Freak has done, but I love every bit of this girl that I’ve created. She’s whip-smart, she’s incredibly determined, she’s headstrong when it comes to what she wants and what she chases after. She doesn’t let the criticisms or condemnations of anyone get her down (and boy have there been a lot of those given her insistent belief in legendaries that the rest of Kanto---or at least her home town of Pallet---scoffs at). She’s incredibly passionate about what she loves and nothing, not even eldritch abominations or legendaries that can and will kill her, will frighten her away from her goal. She is a myth hunter who is determined to be a lorekeeper in her own right (even if not in the same way Zinnia is), and she chronicles everything she knows in extensive journals. Professor Oak probably suggests at one point that she try her hand at being a professor herself in an effort to get her to settle down, but nah. Nah. There are ruins to be spelunked, there are eldritch abominations to chase. She’s not stopping for anything.Professor Oak just sighs.
Whitlea “Lea” Fiona Fair --- How could I not mention my girl Lea? Lea, like Leaf, is rather headstrong and determined---but she’s always determined about all the wrong things (well, usually). This is a girl who sees life as a giant adventure and, if it isn’t, then she will make it one. She hates sitting still. She eats nachos for breakfast. She legitimately traded her Pokédex for a special Zelda edition DS Lite because she wanted to play Spirit Tracks, and she has forbidden Bianca from telling Cheren because Cheren will tell Professor Juniper and then Lea will get in trouble. She’s being followed around by a Victini she calls Thing because Thing imprinted on her, thinking she’s its mom, because she accidentally woke it up in Liberty Tower. She has dubbed N “Captain Unova” because he never understands any references. The only books she reads are comic books, she loves sports and games, won’t tolerate it at all if you fuck with her friends and, as of the latest chapter, is feeling seriously conflicted over this whole “pokémon liberation” dealio.Basically, Lea is a helluva lot of fun to write and, since I know all of Reversi even if I haven’t written it, I know all about her character development and think it’s great. I love Lea. I’ll always love Lea. And I still think she has the best design out of any of the female protags, hands down.
Mortimer “Morty” Matsuba --- I’m never going to ever stop loving Morty. Morty is a character I always loved due to his design, but I really fleshed out his character when writing liveblog drabbles of SoulSIlver back in the day, and I absolutely love him for being the deadpan snarker straight man to Eusine’s . . . Eusine. But even as he is a deadpan snarker who legitimately believes Eusine will get himself arrested one day, he still loves Eusine with all his heart and will always bail him out of whatever trouble (or prison) he gets himself into. (He would just rather Eusine not get himself into that trouble / prison in the first place.)
Eusine Minaki --- And of course I can’t mention Morty without mentioning Eusine. Again, I fleshed Eusine out a lot, and bouncing him off Morty was so easy, their banter came so naturally. So much of it was childish bickering despite the two of them being adults, but that’s what happens when you’re childhood best friends. As energetic and ridiculous as Eusine can be at times, however, he has a serious side to him as well that I like, and I took Lyra stealing his dream from him a lot more seriously than the game did. I like to think my version was better, even if it would definitely need a re-write now.
Gladion --- Gladion was a character I knew was going to be a fave from the moment I saw him, and while I still think that his development was rushed and poorly written in-game (and while my version of Gladion is far more temperamental, heh), I still adore him and his incredible theme music oh so much. The way Gladion reacted to the abuse Lusamine doled out on him is very similar to how I’ve reacted to the abuse I’ve gone through in my life, and so I find Gladion to be a pretty relatable character---including and especially when it comes to his scathing sarcasm, because damn. I can in fact be that way at times if someone aggravates me. There have been times when I’ve taken no hostages, I can freely admit that.
N Harmonia --- I love so much about N. He’s such a complex character, and perhaps one of the most complex characters Game Freak has written into their games---which is why it makes me sad that fandom tends to focus on only one or two of his traits and ignore all the rest. N is many things; he’s an older teenager / young adult who was abused and sheltered for pretty much his entire life, but he’s also an older teenager / young adult who was raised to believe that he is a King and a Chosen One and acts accordingly. N is one of those characters that is very difficult to write correctly, but I think he’s brilliant all the same. I love him. (And the fact that he is just as headstrong, blunt, and passionate as Lea makes them delightful to bounce off one another, let me tell you.)
Brendan James Anderson --- Brendan, son of Petalburg City’s Gym Leader Norman, is as surly and salty as they come, and I love him for it. He’s absolutely that moody teenager who is salty about anything and everything, and while some of his woes are understandable (e.g. he didn’t want to move to Hoenn, he’s salty at his dad for separating from his mom over work, et cetera), the truth is that he will complain endlessly about stupid things as well, and he damn well knows it. He likes writing poetry and reading, which is why he named his mudkip Moby Dick . . . aaand his mudkip appreciates this about as much as you would expect, so. Brendan complains about their vitriolic best buds relationship frequently (especially as Moby, once a swampert, routinely bucks him off mid-Surf and sends him careening into the ocean). I love writing Brendan because, personally, I find the fact that he is perhaps even saltier than the oceans that surround Hoenn to be hilarious. His complaining isn’t whining so much as it is just bitching, and sometimes you just need a salty af protagonist to get you through. (Also, it makes for a nice contrast with his cheerful neighbor, May Birch.)
Iris de Nadder --- A DRAGON PRINCESS, I love Iris, I love her so much, and I wish we got to see more of her in the original Black / White games, though I do love what we do get to see. I love how she protects Bianca after the incident in Castelia City, and though I definitely upped that scene in Reversi (wherein she flat out kicks the shit out of the Plasma grunts assaulting Bianca, mocks them for getting their asses kicked by a twelve-year-old girl, and sends them packing), I do still love what we see originally. I see Iris as being unwilling to take anyone’s shit, but also generally being upbeat and friendly, because honestly, a human’s life is too short to spend being prickly and unpleasant. Dragons? They live ages. But humans? Practically babies from birth to death in a dragon’s eyes. Iris only has a human lifespan, so she’s gonna live it to the fullest and encourage others to do the same. She’ll encourage others to be their best selves while being her best self, and I think that’s awesome.
Karen Noir --- Finally, the last spot will probably have to go to Karen of Johto’s Elite Four. Not only does she spout the truest words in any Pokémon game (that you should battle with the pokémon you like), but I love how I fleshed her out with regards to her relationships with Morty and Eusine. (Basically, she was Morty’s rival in childhood, but Eusine felt that Karen was stealing his BFF, so he and Karen actually have a rivalry in which Karen mostly just makes fun of him and Eusine gets angry, and meanwhile Morty just honestly doesn’t want to know what’s going on, he just wants the yelling to stop.) Plus, I mean, she’s a total badass and has a houndoom named Lilith that can and will fuck everyone up, so. I love her.
This is super long but I always have a lot of Pokémon feelings, so. It’s to be expected, I suppose!!

~
lil synopsis: SVT is one of the most exclusive and most wanted gangs in all of South Korea. Known for performing major heists as well as the elimination of multiple other gangs or their members. Their base is extremely difficult to locate due to their activity across the country and the fact that they move every once in awhile. The members are extremely discreet as well, no one definitively knows who any of them are. These are the members and their profiles. /p.s their names would be unknown but I gotta tell you who’s who so I mean/
Seungcheol: [The Boss] Leader of the entire gang. Unlike most leaders, he doesn’t stop himself from missing out on all the action. Accompanies members when going on a big heist or an important hit; makes the final decision in every scenario and is never to be disobeyed.
Jeonghan: [Advisor] Helps decide on what would be best for the gang’s next move based on unbiased opinion and excluding feelings. Doesn’t really do much other than that because he too likes to stay behind the scenes and help keep the gang in order, though if he is needed in a fight he will go.
Joshua: [Right Hand Man] The Boss’ best assistant. Prefers to be behind the scenes rather than on the streets but will fight if needed. When the Boss is out or busy, he is in charge. Gathers information on everything, including rival gangs, the next target and their location and profile, meetups for exchanges, and everything in between.
Junhui: [Drug Handler] Handles imports and exports of drugs throughout Korea as well as stashes them. Makes sure every gram is accounted for and will chase down anyone who thought it was cute to keep some for themselves. Also does business with China due to being fluent in Chinese which helps the gang in general be on good terms with them.
Soonyoung: [Bookkeeper] Keeps track and takes record of everything the gang does as well as everywhere they go. Literally has everything in his records, weapon count, drug stock, target list as well as target eliminations, rival gangs, level of police activity, etc etc etc. as well as many many maps of multiple cities
Wonwoo: [Head Hitman] As a man of few words with exceptional sharp shooting skills, the is the perfect job for him. Goes on all hits and heists, and carries out hits by himself for small targets such as one member of another gang. Is good with all guns but works best with snipers and other long distance weapons.
Jihoon: [Street Man] Is the one who is mainly patrolling the streets, but has yet to gather any suspicion. Often does confrontations face-to-face when needed, and excels in hand-to-hand combat. Scopes out good places to harbor drugs, weapons, or vehicles, and on occasion possibly a new spot to set up home base. Native to Busan, he has connections there that he uses to help him get info on other cities of Korea in order for him to not be in the public eye for too long.
Seokmin: [Treasurer] Handles all of the gang’s money and spending. When authorized, splits the money between each member and occasionally spends it personal wants. Monitors how much each member spends in order to prevent suspicions from arising from spending too much money at once.
Mingyu: [Lookout] Watches for police or anyone who could be of threat while the gang does business. Also serves as the getaway for when activities are finished or the gang is in need of a quick escape.
Minghao: [Weapons Handler] Handles weapons and stashes them, controls imports and exports, as well as makes sure they’re all in working order. Also does business with China, and frequently travels between the two countries since he has connections in China as well.
Seungkwan: [Main Spy] Mainly sent out to destroy a target from the inside out. Works where they work, joins a program that they’re in and etc. Befriends the target and gains lots of information about them, all of which is told to either the communicator, right hand man, or the boss himself, depending on the importance of the target.
Vernon: [Communicator] Gives the gang information, mainly rival gang activities and police activity. Is the main means of communication at base when multiple members are out doing a heist or on an important hit. He is also notified when a target is eliminated, a trade or transport is successful, and if a member is in need of backup, all of which is conveyed to the boss.
Chan: [Runner] Transports drugs and weapons to other locations or ally gangs. Travels with either the drug or weapon handler but is the only one who physically gets out and makes the exchange. Can fend for himself if he finds himself in trouble, but the respective handlers will be there to back him up.

Skyward Chapter One: You Could Fly Anywhere
Summary: Imagine a Ninjago where dragons have been extinct for centuries. No one expects the scaly beasts to reappear, especially not four certain teens. “You must protect the people,” Sensei says. But why should they, if it means they might be hunted down? For that’s what will happen if they spinjitzu. The ninja will become dragons.
tw: maybe slight body dysmorphia at the end?
"Over the planks, dodge the swords, here comes the dummy!" As Jay ran towards the last skeleton, the energy building beneath his skin became suddenly unbearable. He couldn’t ignore it any longer, it demanded release. So when his feet left the ground and carried him into a spin, Jay didn’t resist. He let his body and instincts take control.
Lightning. It started near his feet, swallowing up his body in a hazy mist of blue. What- what’s happening? Even as the question formed on his lips, he already knew. I’m doing spinjitzu!
A skeleton popped into view, and he instinctively directed his spinjitzu tornado at it. This is so cool! And Cole said he’d be the first… ha!
"Jay! How did you do it?”
Aaand yep, there was that new kid, impulsive and demanding as always. Jay bowled into a third skeleton, attacking with his nun-chucks. He considered just not answering, but he knew that his teammates didn’t need to lose out on account of the hot-head. And if Kai was going to be the fourth member of their team… well, he’d need to know too. "I'm just going through the motions!" Wait, how do I stop this thing? He spun to a halt, immediately noticing the lack of extra energy. “Remember? The training course?”
"Hmm, over the planks... Dodge the swords... Here comes the dummy!" Kai repeated. He too went through the familiar motions of the obstacle course, a tad bit unsure, but gaining confidence.
Jay couldn’t help but grin as the red ninja was enveloped in a fiery spinjitzu twister. “Just like that!” He tried to spinjitzu again, this time without the running start. It was a tad more difficult, but he found if he twisted his upper body, the rest of the motions flowed easily.
With spinjitzu on their side, the cavern was emptied in no time. Jay chased the last skeleton out, spinning to a stop. That was so awesome! He bounced from foot to foot, still high on adrenaline.
“Jay, get over here!”
Cole beckoned to him from across the cave. He was standing beside the blocked entrance, and Jay remembered why they were even in the caves to begin with. The Scythe of Quakes! He dashed over, taking his place beside Kai. As one, the four ninja pushed. The stone moved. The caves trembled. Dust settled. And there it was, bathed in a soft glow: the first Golden Weapon.
Cole scrambled up the stack of rocks and boulders, prying the scythe from the top. He wrapped it in burlap, tossing it down to Zane. He slid down the pile, reclaiming his weapon. “Hey, didn’t Sensei Wu say there was a guardian or something?”
Jay thought back to his conversations with the Sensei. “Actually, yeah, he did.”
“That’s what he told me,” Kai chimed in.
“As well as me.”
"Well, where is he?" Cole scanned the area carefully as if he was expecting a masked man with a sword to pop from the ground. It was making Jay anxious, to be honest.
“Would you stop that?’ he asked. “The guardian-person must have died a long time ago, considering how old Sensei is.” “He’s right," Kai agreed. "Nobody’s been here for a long time. And I don't have time to sit around, waiting for some fictional guardian." "We know," Jay deadpanned, Cole echoing him. "Your sister." Kai rolled his eyes. "Let's get going." The group left the cave, not knowing that their greatest power would become their greatest weakness.
Kai grunted, shifting his balance to keep from falling. “Can you reach them?”
“I believe so.” Zane leaped up, snatched the shurikens, and instantly froze into a solid block.
Kai staggered under the sudden weight, nearly dropping the block of ice. Together, with the help of Cole and Jay, he lowered it to the ground.
“What do we do now?” Jay asked. He probed the block with his foot. “It's not like he's gonna thaw anytime soon.”
“Uh, duh, fire spinjitzu?” Kai rubbed his hands together. “I'll have him out in no time.”
“Not in here!” Cole hissed. “Think about it, Kai. The entire temple is made of ice!”
“A little spinjitzu wouldn't hurt it, either!” Kai argued, but the black ninja cut him off.
“Let’s just get him back to the ship,” he told them. “Then you can use your spinjitzu. Jay, you're with Kai. Take the sides near the back; I'll lead. On three!”
Kai hefted the ice onto his shoulder, finding it easier than he'd anticipated. He followed Cole’s lead -and when did that first start?- and together, they set off. They'd almost made the entrance of the temple, and Kai’s back was starting to ache, when frenzied laughter erupted from behind them.
“Skeletons!” Jay cried. “Kai, take over!” He dropped his side of the block, and Kai scrambled to correct the balance.
“Keep moving, Cole!”
The two ninja hauled their teammate down the icy stairs, away from the temple. Cole looked back, gauging the distance. “I think it should be fine now,” he decided.
Kai took a step back, launching into a spinjitzu tornado. The signature reds and oranges of fire spinjitzu flashed as he wore away at the ice block. It was too hard to look down and keep focus, so he watched Cole’s face. When his concentrated look melted away to concern, Kai backed off and spun to a stop.
“Zane, are you okay?” Jay appeared beside him, making Kai’s heart jump. He'd thought he was a good ninja, but these three put him to shame! Well, at least in the sneaking part. He was definitely much better at fighting.
“He needs to get warmed up, now!” Cole’s command woke Kai from his tangent. The other two were bracing the ice ninja on either side, and Kai realized the earth ninja was addressing him.
“I'll go have Sensei Wu start one!”
“Zane, can you get them with your shurikens?”
Cole stood off to the side, careful not to touch the walls. They were in the Floating Ruins, and he'd already seen what the crackling buildings had done to the skeletons. Electricity was everywhere, making his clothes and hair staticky, and he kept shocking himself on his own scythe.
The ice ninja threw, dislodging the nun-chucks from their hook on the wall. Jay caught the glowing weapon in his right hand... and threw in a backflip that almost electrocuted him. Cole facepalmed. "Jay!" When the lightning ninja looked over at him innocently, Cole continued. "Don't get yourself killed!"
“Hey, relax! I had it all under control!”
Cole doubted that, but he knew arguing with Jay would get him nowhere. Instead, he turned to Zane. “Can you see Kai?”
“He's running to us now,” the white ninja reported. “I sense that he bears bad news.”
"Guys!" Kai appeared in the doorway, out of breath. "The skeletons are climbing the chain!"
“They are?” Jay shrieked. “And they must be close if you can see them! How the heck will we get down now?”
The lightning ninja launched into one of his complaints, so Cole tuned him out. Jay had a point, though, how would they get out of the city? Running, not an option, climbing down, unlikely, flying- A thought popped into his head. Jay! Didn't he say he met Sensei Wu while testing out an invention for flight?
“Jay, can you create something to let us fly out of here?"
“Like my storm gliders!”
Cole had no idea what those were, but he nodded anyways. “Yeah, like that. Can you?”
“Ha, of course I can! Just give me a couple of minutes.”
Jay got to work, tying ropes and connecting pieces of wood and cloth to create frames. He fastened pieces to his teammates' backs. "When you get near the ground, pull this rope to activate the wings!" "Are you sure this is safe?" Zane, for once, looked uncertain. Cole agreed with him privately. The wobbly frames looked like they could snap in half if a stiff breeze blew in.
"Of course!" Jay was indignant. "What makes you think they aren't?" "Oh, just the fact that you crashed into a billboard with them," Kai butted in.
“Well, it's using them or stay up here for the skeletons to get you. Now come on!”
He ran to the edge of the floating platform and jumped without a hint of hesitance. Cole heard him whooping on the way down.
“Kai, you go next. I'll follow, and Zane will bring up the lead.”
The fire ninja leaped into action. He tightened his pack and stepped off the platform yelling. Now it was Cole’s turn. He took a deep breath, felt for his cord, and jumped.
A feeling of nothingness, then gravity took over and Cole was sent speeding towards the ground. Wind whistled past, and he fought to stay in the position Jay had told them: slightly upright, but with the chest pointed down. The ground loomed up at him, and he jerked at his rope. There was a hissing, unfurling noise, and then the wind caught the cloth and he was carried back up.
Cole let himself breathe, glancing back towards the Ruins. Three down, one to go.
Kai reached for his sword, but his hand only grasped empty air. I must have left it back at the camp!
"Tick tock, little ninja," Garmadon taunted. "What's your decision?"
Kai didn’t need to think that one through. He sprinted to the edge of the platform, yanked the sword from the rock, and spinjitzued over to Nya. He was halfway to his falling sister when his spinjitzu flew out of control.
It was too hot. Too strong. Kai tried to correct himself, but his motions had become sharp and exaggerated. His foot slammed into a rock, and he tripped and tumbled into the lava.
What's happening? This never happened before! What's going on! Kai waited for searing pain, but it never came. Am I dead? No, I can't be! He floundered in the lava, but his arms weren't responding correctly and his body was numb. Okay, Kai, don't panic. You're not dead. He wiggled his arms again, and then his legs. Feeling was returning to them, and yet they still weren't moving properly. He needed air. He kicked out and pushed his way to the surface.
A high scream tore through the air, making Kai wince. Since when had his hearing been so sensitive? He opened his eyes, quickly finding his sister. Her mouth was open, it looked like she was ready to scream again.
Is it my hair? Oh my gosh, am I bald? Kai climbed onto the rocks- and froze. What. Are. Those. Claws. Shiny, golden claws, anchoring him to the rocks. And attached to those- Kai was going to be sick. Red wings tipped in gold. He was- he was a-
“Dragon!”
