I listened to Mizuki commissioned song again lately. All of them.

I actually had very little thought about most of it. Most of the song's meaning stays unchanged, but a few sentences now feel extremely foreshadowy to me (we're making up words today)

I'll use Amiaryllis' lyrics to talk about the song btw (go check her cover she cooked). It might lead me to see things that weren't intented in the original song's writing because well, lyrics translation. But some of the more literal translation of the songs can feel very cryptic + I'm obsessed with Amia's cover so idc bear with me.

And to clarify the color-coding. Mizuki, Ena, Mafuyu, Kanade. I'll color the lines to clarify who sings what, but I need to specify that as much as the line distribution is made to fit each character's situation, every line that isn't sung by the focus character (Mizuki here) bears a double meaning, as it can be read and interpreted entirely from their perspective. It's their commissioned song for a reason, after all.

That's a way too long introduction. Let's get into the topic!

Staring with IDSmile :

"I've given up- tried to keep my distance"

"I've found defeat here in hide and seek.

I've lost my way to melancholy"

"To feel this pain or fade away ?"

A few lines that took another dimension after Mizu5, I think.

If you lost in hide and seek, it means you've been found. You've been seen.

Giving up, setting a distance (1003), getting lost... Fading away. What can I say. I believe lyrics speaks for themselves.

Lower is something else entierely.

"Admiration fades to distaste"

"Quiet meeting dissolves into farewell"

Sounds like Mizuki's fear in general. Except it became near tangible now.

"I raise my hazy voice as it scorches my throat, forgetting everything I'd cherished the most,

My mind, it draws a blank, what was I supposed to utter ? "

And that is Ena's line. Ena, in shock, unable to process what she heard and answer accordingly. Ena, screaming Mizuki's name in the corridor.

"A quiet whispers echoes through the halls. Hear out the wishes, hear out the wishes shared by all."

It might be just me, but I can't help but think about the school's corridor. People whispering as you walk by. Typical school bullying.

To Mafuyu, the 'wishes shared by all' are the high expectations pushed on her. To Mizuki, though...

"I don't know where to start, don't even know what I've lost sight of now. I don't know the answer but I pray they come to me somehow."

Kanade's but makes me think of how Mizuki was afraid to speak to Ena and wished someone did it for her. Ha. Ha. Ahem. It's not the first Kanade line that gives me that impression.

The full thing makes me think of how Ena is probably confused and not sure how to proceed. And by the way we know Mizuki is gone from real world but has Niigo noticed yet ? Do Ena knows what she has lost sight of now ♪ ?

I'm focusing on Mizu5 foreshadowing but I'm still freshly out of reading Mafuyu Engeki event and

"I promise that we'll make our great escape, someday and somehow" line sang by Kanade and Mafuyu together. Although it's a line from a Mizuki commi, Mizuki who's the one who told Mafuyu to run away Aaaaaaaa- anyway back on tracks!

"Whispered secret once obscured by tinted glass" Past tense. No more tinted glass. Secret exposed for everyone to see. Ena why is this your line oh my god I need to scream--

"Wondering how much longer could this truly last ?"

Well. It's Mizuover now.

I'm glad the chorus exists, still.

"I know we'll be connected in the end, no matter the cost."

It might be hellish as of now, but there's no need to worry. It will end up being fine. Trust.

Give me Your Night.

I want to talk about that song but there's little to say in Mizu5 context because that song. Isn't about Niigo.

I wish I had the source, but I heard Hinata Satou (Mizuki's VA), thought of the song as Mizuki speaking to Rui as they were recording. And. I can't not scream about the song seen through that lense.

But the Mizurui brainrot is too strong so I'll make it into its own post. Just to avoid this one being way too long.

I'm less confident about Kitty.

If there's foreshadowing here, it's not in lines you pick up.

The song is telling Mafuyu to run away. But I also somehow see Mizuki who start to question things.

Mafuyu is being told to run by a girl who start considering facing things. In that exact moment, they both share the feelings of doubt about how to proceed. Not sure they should speak up. Apprehending changes. But the will to make the first step for that change is right here, starting to grow. Something like that.

Escape for our Survival was the last Mizuki focus event before the Thorns, so it makes sense the hints are less subtle. Listening to it now, I feel like the song is telling me "Hey. It's coming."

On a side note I can't help but notice the use of the world Telecaster. In a Mizuki song. Mmh.

Bonus Keitai Renwa ?

Bonus Keitai Renwa. It was a commissioned song after all. Using Ami's lyrics🌸 again where I can. Filling the rest with wiki EN translation.

"All the things I say, they only seem to lead us astray, so what now ?"🌸 Ena trying to get closer to Mizuki desperately only to--

"Even though I try, I've only found a time for goodbye"🌸 MIZUKIIIIIIIIIIIII. YOU COME BACK HERE.

"The sweet sensations of the past, why is it they weren't meant to last ?"🌸 *Dies in 'Mizuki is afraid of change.'*

"Your fabricated kindness makes my heart goes insane." Why. Oh why. Why the concept of made-up, fake, kindness. Why here. Why now.

"It makes it hurt so much." Okay. Fine. Sure. I'm fine. No problem.

"I got lost searching for you" Go Enanan, go. Technically that line fits mfyd too.

"The whispers that don't exist in the chat history, I don't need them at all" mention of whispers again.

I can't make sense of the sentence tho. For the funfact, that song was commissioned for an alternate universe, as the plot of Niigo changed after the song was made. So they asked for another song for the Untilted track. Namely, Kuyamu to Katie Mirai.

So yeah a lot of Keitai Renwa lines are a bit cryptic, because they're talking about another story entirely. Any sense of foreshadowing here is purely coincidental.

Back on tracks

"Love me if that's what you please, hate me if it gives you ease"🌸 Mizuki asking for hate rather than a made-up kindness.

"Screaming out my deepest fear : Please don't leave me yet !"🌸

To an extent, it could fit them both. But it went to Ena. Ena would had to look at Mizuki running away without having the chance to speak.

Wait- please, don't go.

"Even if this love's gone cold, like the tea I've left alone, I would not lose hope and throw it all away"🌸 Unfortunately you didn't exactly did that, huh...

"Searching through my heart to find what to say"🌸 why does so many lines brings me back to lower ?

/"I still want to hear you speak with words [...]"

I still want to hear it from you. I haven't waited all this time for naught.

"To just connect with you, so, please... Are you there ?"

They sing that like together, except the 'with you' part that is only Ena. But in our specific context, the line feels like Ena's.

And that's about it. I can't say much more.

Sure, I could go through every Niigo cover that includes Mizuki and pick up every line that feels suspicious to me. I'm down the rabbit hole enough to do that.

But that post is long enough. If I find something earth-shattering in the covers, maybe I'll share it. Maybe.

It's Sir Dr Brian Harold May's birthday today and I absolutely love and adore him, and I have been posting stuff on my Queen sideblog @rogers-maraccas, but I felt like posting this long rant on here because I FEEL LIKE IT AND NOBODY CAN STOP ME AND I WANT ALL YOU FUCKERS TO HERE ABOUT THIS BEAUTIFUL AMAZING MAN!

Out of all four members of Queen, I do not have a favourite, I love them all equally, not just for their music, but for them, because they are all great. But today is Brian's day, so we must discuss him. Next week will be Rogers birthday.

Firstly, Brian's talent is absolutely incredible and playing guitar like his is one of the things that keep me from quitting guitar. I watch him play guitar solos and I see the way his fingers move and how they can just, how the fuck do I say this without it sounding weird, finger the strings and he can move them up and down and jesus Christ this sounds weird but I don't fucking care because it's fucking Brian May.

I will admit that he is not THE best guitar player in the world, there are definitely some, specifically Jimi Hendrix that tops Brian, but to me, in my opinion, he is still one of the best. HE IS SO FUCKING TALENTED. And its not just guitar, he can write songs, he can sing really good, his voice is amazing and so gentle and soft and I love it. He has solo albums that are really good and I definitely recommend listening to them. My fav solo album of his is Back to the Light, and even though I don't have an absolute favourite, I'm Scared and Resurrection are definitely some of my favourites, and Let Your Heart Rule Your Head gives me the same sort of vibes as '39 which is just one of the amazing Queen songs Brian wrote.

Speaking of songs, Brian has written so many hits for Queen, as has the rest of them, but this post is focusing on Brian:

White Queen (As it Began), the story behind the song is both very sweet and sad on its own, Father to Son, Brighton Rock, It's Late, Mother Love, Dead on Time, Dreamers Ball (absolutely fucking love this song. It's so good), Dancer, Dragon Attack, Sail Away Sweet Sister, Save Me, Tear It Up and Is This the World We Created.

That's not even all of them.

And his lyrics are so fucking great as well, as are the rest of the bands songs, but just look at some of these beautiful lyrics.

I am aware that all the band chipped in to write The Show Must Go On, which is in my opinion the best Queen song and I could go on and entire different rant about that, but the lyrics and meaning behind it is amazing, and you get beautiful gems from those lyrics like "my wings are painted like the wings of butterflies, fairytales of yesterday will grow but never die. I can fly my friends"

AAAAAAAA HE IS SO FUCKING AMAZING

Oh my gosh and we can't forget that he is incredibly smart. He has a fucking PhD in astrophysics for fucks sake, he's a doctor. I remember reading somewhere that his IQ is 180, which is just seven IQ point thingys lower than Sheldon Cooper. If he wasnt a very famous guitarist then he most likely would have been a very successful astrophysicist.

Plus he's fucking knighted.

He has also accomplished so much outside of Queen and his solo stuff. He loves animals is an animal rights activist, publicly speaking against fox hunting and culling of badgers. He fucking loves badgers. And lots of different animals. I have multiple photos of Brian with animals.

He helped open the Mercury Phoenix Trust charity which was opened in honour of Freddie Mercury to help fight AIDS.

He bought a bunch of land where trees were going to get cut down to build houses and saved those trees and is now called May's Wood.

He would go on TV after Freddie died and stand up for Freddie and speak up against the press and all the negative very untrue things people were saying about Freddie. (Just pointing out he is not the only one that did this, Roger also did an amazing job on speaking out)

There is a lot more things than I mentioned but you get the point and my brain is blanking.

OH YEAH, he played live at the top of Buckingham palace.

Also when asked by someone if we would ever hear what happened inside of the legendary Queen parties. His response was just a couple seconds of silence and then...

"no."

And of course we can't have a Brian appreciation post without mentioning the Red Special. The Red Special is Brian's guitar that he's had ever since he was a kid, and he's used it at most shows (I find the fact that he didn't have it during Live Aid is a fucking crime). He made the guitar with his dad when he was a kid. I can never remember how old he was if he was 12 or 15 or something. Him and his dad made it out of some old furniture or something like that where the wood was really old and pretty much rotting. It's fucking amazing.

And he improvised and experimented and used a six pence coin as a pick and it gives it a unique sound. One time my sister and I was in a car and I was listening to my own music and my sister told me Queen was on the radio so I listened and she had never heard that song before and she heard the bit with the guitar solo and I asked her how she knew it was Queen and she said she recognised the sound of Bri's guitar. If his guitar broke I would cry for him and the Red Special.

And I know this is talking about Brian, but I just feel the need to point how good of an actor Gwilym Lee is. He played Brian in the movie, and he was the most accurate out of the entire cast in my opinion. When Brian showed Bohemian Rhapsody to his kids they thought that his voice was the actual Brian's voice just overlapping and Gwilym was lip sinking. He wasn't, he's just that good.

I've been watching Bohemian Rhapsody while writing this, and I started this towards the start of the movie and now I'm up to the bit where Freddie finally ditches Paul so I'm gonna stop here.

Just remember that Brian May is an amazing man who is extremely talented and kind and has done extraordinary things, even more than on here. If I ever met him I would tell him that and tell him I love him more than I can say and maybe even more than some of my friends and that he has changed my life in ways I can't even understand.

hi guys, here's a preview of my solomon x mammon song fic I'm writing because if i put it out there, maybe I'll write it faster and get over my fears of writing </3 already at 700+ words AND THEY HAVEN'T EVEN MET UP YET AKWKDJF

Mammon tightened his grip on the steering wheel, trying to remember how to breathe properly. He attempted breathing out slowly, but it came out as more of a stuttered wheeze. Sliding his sunglasses off, he rubbed a hand over his face before thumping his forehaad against the steering wheel. He was the Great Mammon, damn it! So, why was this damned sorceror turning him into such a wreck?

He fumbled blindly, turning the ignition off and setting the car in park. He glanced at the hand picked bouquet and box sitting in the passenger seat, each tied up with a pastel rainbow ribbon. Furrowing his brows, he briefly wondered if the gifts were a mistake. What if Solomon didn’t like them? What if he didn’t need them? What if-

Mammon growled in frustration and quickly shook his head. “What the hell am I worryin’ about? I’m the Great Mammon! I got this!” He reassured himself, checking his hair in the rearview mirror. He still couldn’t tell if the gel was a bad idea. He only added some after a long debate with himself, enough to make his hair a little more tamed, but nothing drastic.

ooh good question!!! lemme see here. putting this under a keep reading bc it long

TLK is definitely far and away the best out of all of em. God the visuals!!! Each shot is a definite masterpiece. Each scene vitally important to the film as a whole. The best scenes in the movie imo are Mufasa and Simba roughhousing and Mufasa's ghost speaking to Simba. Each emotional beat in those scenes just hits me in the feels every fucking time. Oh, and the music. It's simply impossible to discuss TLK without the music! Each song number is catchy and fun. The Circle of Life sets my soul on fire every fucking time. I Just Can't Wait to Be King and Hakuna Matata are my fucking anthems. Can You Feel the Love Tonight is sweet and romantic, with the funny bits with Timon and Pumbaa being the cherry on top. Even tho Be Prepared is my least favorite song in the movie, that doesn't mean it's a bad song. It's only my least favorite bc I don't resonate with it as much but it's still one hell of a banger. Also this movie arguably has the most recognizable leitmotifs ever. Mufasa's leitmotif is grand, majestic, and tragic when he dies. Simba's leitmotif is hope filled, inspiring, and awesome, especially at the end of the movie. The musical score is amazing. We Are All Connected, Kings of the Past, and The Rightful King are easily my top 3 movie score pieces of all time. I just. There's so much to unpack and I just aaaaaaaa it's my very favorite movie of all time!!!

While TLK2 obviously isn't at quite the same level, it's still a worthy sequel in its own right. The animation is still pretty good, the characters are fairly solid and the music is still mostly catchy as hell (that said, Upendi is definitely the cheesiest song in the whole movie and I definitely could do without it). I think Adult Simba's characterization is the strongest without a doubt here. Matthew Broderick's enraged shout of "Exile!" gets me every time. He's still wrestling with being like his father. Oh and Kiara is arguably my favorite TLK female character of all time and is probably my second favorite TLK character next to Cub Simba. Her compassion and wisdom really draw parallels with that of her grandfather and I headcanon that she sort of felt his presence guiding her as she fell in love with Kovu. Oh, He Lives in You and We Are One are my favorite songs of the movie. There's a spirituality to them that I really can't ignore (i'm a bit reluctant to go into my spiritual beliefs on tumblr bc of religious trauma and also i think i'll probably get lambasted haha).

TLG is a mixed bag for me. The chemistry between the characters in the first two seasons was pretty solid. The music is excellent as always, Zuka Zama being my favorite. The antagonists were pretty awesome too, especially Reirei. God, I love her. I also really appreciate that this show doesn't forget about its side characters and most of them make at least two appearences in the show, which I do appreciate. I also liked the little parallel shot references to TLK (in a youtube video seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3s0EYqMIR58&t=13s). However, Simba's characterization here really bugged me. Especially in the Savannah Summit episode where he basically tells Kion that he ruined it. He feels more like Kion's boss than his father. While I am able to headcanon that as him throwing himself into his royal duties to protect his family, I do wish he had at least a slight bit of chill. I also was bugged about Kiara wanting to be queen, which kind of skewed her desire to not be queen in TLK2 but honestly, I kind of chalk that up to writers forgetting her previous characterization briefly. Oh and ZURI. I fucking hate Zuri. Whose fucking idea was it to give a lion cub eyeshadow? She's irritating, unbearable, and simply unlikeable. I used to hate Tiifu but The Underground Adventure redeemed her in my eyes so she's cool with me now. Also, not a huge fan of Kion talking to Mufasa so easily. I just think it kind of ruins the whole mystique and majesty about the Lions of the Past. Season 3 was also pretty rough but I think I've complained about TLG too much already so I'll stop for now.

(gonna make a separate post about TLK 1.5 bc that movie is probably the best TLK sequel imo but yeah haha)

Void tries to teach Hood how to growl.

"Dan dan di dan dan dan di dan...", Void sang to himself in his studio as he listened to the beat of his latest song.

"Da da da-"

"Hey, uh...Void?"

Void stopped singing, and he turned around to see Hood standing in the doorway of his studio.

"What?"

"I wanted to ask you about this.", Hood said, entering the studio with his phone in hand.

"Yeah? Whatcha need?"

"This.", Hood said, tapping on a video and showing it to Void.

The video showed a clip of him at one of his concerts singing passionately to the audience.

"Oh, how amazing my voice is? Yeah, I know that already.", he said, complimenting himself.

"No, not that, I mean what you did right here with your voice.", Hood said, replaying a part of the song that showed Void shouting into the mic.

"You mean...growling?", Void asked.

"Yeah! Yeah! That! Can you teach me how to do that? I've tried, but I just can't seem to get it right.", Hood asked.

"You want me to teach you now?", Void asked, a bit thrown off.

"Well uh- I don't see why not. I ain't the best teacher, but I'll do my best.", Void said, looking off to the side.

Void then took Hood's hand and sat him down in one of the chairs at his desktop while he sat in the other one.

"Okay, so first, you clear your throat like this. Ahem.", Void said as he did just that with Hood doing the same.

"Now try singing any note. But preferably one that you're comfortable with like this. Aaa.", he sang. Hood repeated with a lower note.

"Now try doing that while clearing your throat! Like this! AaaAaaA!", Void sang, growling.

"A-AaaAaaaa...", Hood sang a low note. He had growled, albeit it was very quiet and weak.

"Come on now! Is that the best you can do? I wanna hear the true power coming out of you! Gimme all you got!", Void said encouragingly.

"AAaaaAA...", Hood sang a bit louder.

"Harder! Louder!"

"AaaaaAAAA!", Hood sang, raising his voice significantly with a higher note.

"HARDER!"

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!", Hood screamed, his voice booming through the room and reaching a note that was way out of his normal range.

Suddenly, his voice squeaked, and his growling came to an immediate stop.

"Now that's what I'm talking about! Aren't I a good teacher, Hood?", Void asked.

Hood tried to reply, but what came out of his mouth instead was a series of coughs and wheezes.

"Woah, Hood, you okay?", Void asked.

"Y-yeah...I- ahagh! Oww...", Hood whimpered. He had tried to clear his throat, but that seemed to do more harm than good. Additionally, his voice was very raspy and quiet.

Suddenly, the Accretions appeared in the doorframe out of breath.

"Hah...V-man, what happened?! We heard screaming!", one of them said as the other was still resting.

"Nah! Everything's fine. I was just teaching Hood how to growl, but...I don't think he's doin' too well now.", Void said, a hint of concern in his voice.

"Ay Hood, you good? That scream sounded painful.", the Accretion asked him.

"Ack...i-it was...l-like...a lot.", Hood weakly muttered before bursting into a fit of coughs once again.

"Ah fuck...e-everything hurts..."

"Okay, can y'all stop standing there and get this guy some of that stuff I drink right before my concerts? Make it quick!", Void demanded as he pat Hood on the back.

"O-on it boss!", the Accretion said before running back down the hall. The other Accretion rolled his eyes with a sigh before running to catch up with him.

After a few moments, Hood tried to say something, but Void's hand was immediately slapped over his mouth.

"Shut up. You're only gonna make it worse.", Void said sternly.

Hood sighed as he slumped down in his chair.

"And uhh...sorry for making you sing that high, by the way. I probably should've clarified that you need practice before you can growl that high.", Void said, placing a hand on Hood's shoulder.

"I was just messing with you, you know?"

Hood placed his hand on top of Void's and turned to smile at him.

"Y-you're cool with it? Well uh...thanks for accepting my apology, I guess."

The Accretions reappeared in the doorway with the drink in-hand.

"Boss, I got the stuff!", he said as he entered the room.

Void took the drink from his hands and gave it to Hood. He took a sip of it and immediately recoiled in disgust as he forced it down. Hood pointed to it and glared at Void with a confused look.

"What's in it? Just some ginger tea with uhh...ground up moonrocks with a pinch of stardust, I think? I dunno. Either way, you should be better soon.", Void said, nonchalantly patting Hood on the back again.

Hood cleared his throat and tried to speak, but Void put his hand over his mouth again.

"I don't think you heard me when I said it's gonna get worse if ya keep talking. What do you want?", Void asked.

Hood smiled at Void while blushing faintly and crossing his index finger and thumb together to form a heart shape.

Void's eyes widened, clearly caught off guard by this as he felt his face heat up.

"I-I uhh...uhh..."

Seemingly out of impulse, Void jumped onto Hood's back and hugged him tightly. He wrapped his arms around Hood's neck while Hood aggressively played with Void's hair.

"Haha...I love you too, Hoodie.", Void laughed, hugging his boyfriend tighter.

They stayed like that for a few more moments and looked up to see the Accretion still standing there with the other watching the scene from the doorframe. Both had surprised looks on their faces while blushing lightly.

Void immediately felt his face and body heat up in a mixture of both embarrassment and anger.

"Uhh...V-man?"

"What the hell are you two still doing here?! Get out!!!", Void screamed at them. His voice booming through the room.

"S-sorry boss-!", the Accretion whimpered as he made a run for the door.

this is one i've known forever and i love the video so much. i learned about this song from my dad because he said when he hears it, he always thinks about a little girl he knew when he was a little kid named rosemary, they were friends and then she moved away one day and he never saw her again. he always said that song reminded him of her and made him wonder where she went and how she was doing.

dsgsd i don't know why i'm laughing about noddy singing that song in what looks like a totally empty room and he's singing "we get wild wild wild" and then his little "yaaaaaay" like he's so happy there by himself in a sad empty room. also i know literally nothing about that show, but even if i did, i don't attach things like that to people just because it was watched. i've watched lots of things(some i kind of regret watching, but at least i know what it is now. it's just more knowledge in the brain) and most of it is so far from who i am as a person, even if i enjoyed some elements of some of the things, if it was analyzed as a whole and somebody tried to determine what i'm like based on that, i think they would come up with a very different result than me in reality(unless it's my favorite music videos, that's literally just me and my entire personality). also i don't really watch series or movies much anymore, so you don't have to worry about me watching it!!

omg i love bowie's sweater. also relatable, i don't leave my house much and when i do, sometimes i'm afraid of people for no reason. like if i'm walking on a sidewalk and somebody else is walking towards me, i will probably cross the street as soon as possible and walk on the other side instead. (sidewalks and roads where i live, which is a very small town, are usually very void of people. as is my life.)
