For that reason, your manager told you that you would be doing the "Impossible" dance challenge with Shotaro. You were quite nervous because you knew how great a dancer he was; you were basically a fan of his and loved watching his dance videos. When you met in the hallway to record the video, both of you were a little nervous, but after a few takes, you relaxed. After filming, you talked for a few minutes, with you telling him how much you admired him, and him thanking you and saying he liked your dancing style too. From that moment on, you would greet each other whenever you met.

In NMIXX, you were always the one in charge of speaking because you were very outgoing and had a knack for capturing people's attention. Thanks to this, you were hired as an MC for a music show. Alongside you, they chose Eunseok from RIIZE as your co-host, as he was quite popular for his looks. At first, both of you were quiet and shy, but little by little, Eunseok started joking around, and you became closer. You realized you had many interests in common, and after your contract as MCs ended, you stayed in touch, meeting up occasionally when you both had time to go to cafes or PC rooms.

Of course, you already knew who he was, as he was also famous for his voice. During the recording, you didn’t talk much, but afterward, when the song became famous and you had to do stages together, you became closer. you would have your sketchbook filled with drawings of her, maybe when she's smiling, playing the drums, in her spider-suit, or just her laughing (exactly like that one scene with mile's sketchbook).

would be in awe watching you do your work, not saying anything and just admiring you because he doesn't want to disturb you & would literally make a :O face when you show your finished art pieces.

he would be ur number one supporter and showers you with compliments when you finish a piece & he would literally be speechless if you show him all of your art pieces and drawings - "i love that one, ooh and that, and that! i love all of your drawings they are all incredible." Looking at your recent commissions, those backgrounds are soo pretty!! Do you have any tips for backgrounds? I always struggle with them :>

backgrounds can absolutely be a struggle but they don't have to be! they just require a little more creative planning~!

whether it be a commission or a personal drawing, if I'm building an elaborate art piece i focus on establishing the background First.

the background is the stage for your character! planning the background first will make it easier to tailor the character's actions and how they interact with the environment around them.

planning the background first can be the difference between your character standing awkwardly front and center with the setting going on behind them, or actually participating in their environment.

if i'm super stumped for background ideas, i browse stock image sites to get inspiration. sometimes it helps to doodle on an image to generate some ideas - kinda like you're playing with JPEGs like dolls.

that said - while i'm pinpointing WHAT i want to draw, i keep the ideas loose. i don't want to focus on the itty-bitty details until i've got the overall aesthetic and layout in mind, as i might get inspired to add something in later!

THUMBNAILING

if you're planning a big piece it can be helpful to break it down into something bite-sized before you go all in and start lining or painting. these are "thumbnails" - fast little sketches that establish the scene in a way that doesn't consume a lot of time or effort. it's also great as a little perspective exercise as a treat.

here i decided i want to draw a character walking home in a back alley street. with these photo references in mind, i can plan a layout and how the character will act in the scene. is this a candid shot? are they posing cutely? are they looking down at us in a tense way? there are many ideas to be had!

after you've chosen the layout / vibe for your idea, you can scale up your thumbnail to your preferred canvas size and start fleshing out the details. be sure to keep referring to your reference images to get additional ideas, such as storefronts, items, props etc!

3D MODELS

If you're trying to create a unique environment that photo references simply cannot help you visualize, 3D models exist! This gives you that ability to rotate / scale things for better visualization. Clip Studio has a vast catalogue of 3D models to download For Free that you can fiddle around with. i know there are many 3D builder sites out there as well, though i've never made use of them so i'm afraid i cannot recommend any off the top of my head. hell, you can even use the Sims game to design a setting and go from there!

also if anyone is going to come into my house and say 3D models are cheating: they are not. using a 3D model to better grasp an angle or get a better idea for perspective is not cheating. using 3D models to help plan the environment in your art is not cheating. they are no different than brushes; these are tools made to HELP YOU. use them!

PERSPECTIVE

perspective and angles can make a HUGE difference in the art piece. there's nothing wrong with static long shots! if that's what you want to draw, do it!! there's no right and wrong here!

but if you're finding your work to be a little robotic and stiff, slap an angle in there. consider an overhead view. these same techniques are applied to photography and film! nothing wrong with wide shots, but every once in a while it can help to throw in a dutch angle.

if there is one note i'd like to leave off on, it's that your backgrounds do not have to be 100% accurate-to-life to be Good. unless realism is something you're really striving for in your style, don't feel compelled to nitpick every brick and leaf in your art. us artists can tend to over-prune our work until our art looks a little bare and soulless. flaws can give your work character, and that's often a lot more appealing than how accurate the scale ratio between background building A and building B are [again, unless you WANT to go for that realistic look then you can fuss over those details all you like].

How did he even end up like this really.

Ezreal sits quietly in his dressing room. Leg shaking, fingers tapping the table, he’s jittery, anxious, so unlike him. So unlike the proud glimmering star that he knew he was. Like, he knows he looks great, his hair is styled now, he has all his makeup on making his already stunning features all the more enchanting. He’s properly styled in new branded clothes, all pinned to fit him perfectly, his waist and abs on show in the tight fitting top. He knew he looked fucking amazing but for some reason he just couldn’t help but to doubt himself. You were out there waiting after all. You were the one waiting for him to act all cute and charming. You were the one who knew how to make him look the best he ever has in almost every single photo. This was really so unlike him! Ezreal laughs at his insecurities, about to run his hands through his hair before realizing that the hairdresser was glaring at him. He holds back.

Instead, Ezreal sighs. Leaning back into the plush chair. The stylists fussing over him and holding up all these sponsored outfits for him, asking which he wants to wear next for the new magazine spread. Yet…all he can think about is how he would look in front of you. What would you like? Did you even like his type of cute and charming? What if you were more into people like Yone or Kayn. Ezreal pouts just thinking about it. It was unfair that you got to photograph them all, he just wishes he could keep you as his own personal photographer. So unfair that you got to look at all the other guys the same way you looked at him. But honestly, ask anyone of your friends and co-workers and they’ll tell Ezreal how special he was. How his fears were unfounded for he somehow was the perfect model for you. The way all of your best works and award winning shots were of Ezreal? How you stayed up editing multiple photos of his photoshoot photos, wanting him to look as stunning as possible. Everyone could tell you were a big fan, everyone except Ezreal himself.

So as he steps out and the studio lights hit him, the sparkle of his shimmery makeup making him look as ethereal as possible you can’t help but feel a flutter in your chest. Truly stunning, there was no other way to describe this idol other than that he was absolutely stunning.

“ Hey there. Uh yeah, let’s do this.”

Well that was awkward, he gives you a practiced wave and walks over to the set. Sitting with his legs crossed on the decorative throne. Head resting on his hands as he poses himself for you. You snap away, Ezreal fishing for praises from you, a bright smile on his face. Both of you doing your best to ignore the obvious blush on his face, it was just makeup right? Definitely just makeup.

The rest of the shoot went by smoothly. Honestly, being the one to get such up close and personal shots of Ezreal was…nice. After the makeup artist and stylists touch up his makeup, his eyes slowly make their way to you. He watches you fiddle with the camera while the other employees fuss over his hair and face. Taking in the sight of your serious expression as you pick the best shots. The way the corners of your lips curve up into a smile when you find good shots. Laughing softly to himself as he watches your nose crinkle when you scroll past a bad photo. Suddenly you look up and wave at him.

“ Hey Ez, which would be better? I’m not sure if the blue or yellow lights are the way to go for this one so I’m leaving it up to you.”

You call out to him during the break between set changes to take a look. Hand out to beckon him over.

“ Hmm? Can I See?”

Ezreal thanks the stylists working on him before he blinks over behind you. Carefully, he leans over your shoulder, hands reaching over to cover yours as he tilts the camera and the screen up towards him. A slight look of wonder on his face as he flips through the photos, amazed at how good you somehow make him look. Unedited photos and he already looks so good? Damn how did you give him such sex appeal while making him still look so cute. Gods bless you for being good at your job. Clicking left and right over and over before he finally decides on the one he wants.

“ Honestly the blue looks super good on my skin-”

As Ezreal turns to look at you with a smile on his face he pauses suddenly. Alarmingly aware of how his hands are on yours, how your face is a mere breath away, how your back was pressed against his chest, how your gorgeous sparkling eyes widen as you stare back, also suddenly shockingly aware of how close he is to you.

Ezreal swallows hard.

An awkward laugh leaving his lips as he blinks at you. If the two of you weren’t so caught up in the moment, you’d see the other staff members turning to look away, trying to give you two a semblance of privacy during this tender moment.

“ Sorry I didn’t-”

“ No don’t worry I don’t mind!”

After another moment of awkward silence, staring at each other, the two of your burst out laughing. Ezreal giving you a quick hug after he lets go of your hands. Friendly! Nothing too weird or out of character for him! Just Ezreal being Ezreal!

Only the pink dusting on both your cheeks hint at anything more between you two. But he was an idol and you were but his work colleague, a photographer. There can’t be anything between you two. You wave off the thought and thank him for his input as you pull the expensive camera close to your chest again.

“ I’ll uh, work on these and get them back to your manager tomorrow.”

“ Mmm, and thank you for your hard work as always. I look forward to the photos.”

Ezreal’s expression changes to a soft smile as he lovingly looks at you before he pauses and pulls out his phone. Doing his best to change the subject to relieve the awkward tension that now hung in the air around the studio.

“ Oh Yeah! I used our last shoot photo as my wallpaper! It was that good! I forgot to give you feedback on how much I liked it. Or maybe I did…hmm…”

He laughs, holding up his phone screen with a the solo shoot photos from a few weeks back. Trust this proud idol to use his own photos as his lock screen and home screen.

“ I am honored you like it that much then but yes, you blew up my messages with thanks when I sent it to you. Don’t worry, I know you love it.”

As you laugh in return, giving him a similarly warm smile from such close proximity, Ezreal feels his chest tighten. The furious beating of his heart was sure to give him a heart attack. A stupid love struck look on his face now.

“ I’ll go um, change for the next set. See you later.”

Before you can reply he blinks away back into his dressing room. The cycle of anxiety to repeat yet again. This was going to be a long shoot day…

Husk and his Sketchbook part 2? I can't stop thinking about that cute scenario hah

Aaa, it's been a while since I've thought about this one~

The scenario I'm thinking is, you find out that Husk found the sketchbook filled with drawings of him, some slightly spicy. There's some embarrassment on both sides, but since Husk knows now anyway, you have to ask - would Husk be willing to pose for you? There's some details you haven't been able to get a good look at without being obviously weird, but if he's okay with you studying him closely to get him just right...

He protests at first. Why the fuck would someone want to draw him? Go ask Angel, he's an attention whore, he'll let you draw him as much as you want. But you insist it's not just about drawing anybody - you want to draw him, specifically. There's just something about him that's charmed you, and you want to be able to draw him perfectly. Husk is still baffled by this, but he finally gives in and agrees.

That's how you get him into your bedroom, leaning back on his paws, a single suspender hanging off his shoulder. (He reached up to fix it when it slipped, but you asked him to leave it - with your cheeks darkening, for some reason?) The two of you are completely silent. He's scowling and flattening his ears, still thinking this is the dumbest fucking thing...

But occasionally you look up at him, and do you really need to stare at him that long to be able to draw him? He thinks he catches the beginning of a smile before your face disappears behind your sketchbook sometimes...

You're so weird, he thinks.

By the time you're done your sketch, Husk's arms have begun to fall asleep. He asks to see it, but you seem hesitant... why would you be, though? You can't just ask him to sit here for two hours while you draw him, then refuse to show him the result. You finally sit next to him on the bed, your shoulder pressed against his bare one, as you show him the sketchbook.

There's so much detail on his fur and feathers, his muscles and claws, and instead of drawing his pissed off, impatient expression, you've drawn him with a soft smile...

How the fuck can someone draw something that looks so good when looking at him?

"I looked a lot better when I was alive, you know," he says as he hands the book back. "Still, ya did good with what you've got."

"I think you look handsome now," you tell him as you take the book back.

Husk scoffs, unsure how a fucking cat with wings is supposed to look handsome.

EGNNADBSFNH THANK YOUUUU I will be honest you are not the first one to mention it- Guardener looks absolutely adorable, and I am honored to bring such a delight to the eyes of other silly people. Since Guardener is on the topic, you can be my excuse to share a better reference image of her with the world (I was going to anyway, but I might as well do it now) so HERE IS THAT.

Still not my best work, but I have not gotten around to making anything better yet.

Also, I made a messy little doodle for how I came to the conclusion of Axis having glasses as well. I guess you could say I got a little excited after receiving your commentary...

...I guess I just felt like explaining myself visually. So yeah, that just about sums up my response.

Although... You did say "ouch :')" at the end, and with my limited context, I am not capable of coming to a conclusion on why that is there. However, instead of ignoring it, I have decided to draw Guardener in the Popular Meme Death Pose™ as my response. Here you go.

Tsukasa loved your drawings and always wanted to look at them when you finished one. One day, you were sitting on a couch at the Tenma's living room as Tsukasa showed off his poses. You had your sketchbook out and were drawing, but Tsukasa thought nothing of it.

"I have to use the bathroom. I'll be back."

"Of course, my love! Take your time!"

Tsukasa noticed that you left your sketchbook open on the couch. He was one to respect your privacy, but curiosity got to him and he looked at the page. It was of him... posing. He flipped the page and it was also of him. He kept flipping through the pages... was this sketchbook just dedicated to drawings of him..?

He closed your sketchbook, deciding he had looked enough and sat on the couch in silence, waiting for you to return.

Emu adored you. And your art. You brought your sketchbook wherever you went. She always got super excited when you showed her your drawings. She would always compliment your art.

On a certain summer evening, you were watching her troupe's performance in the audience as the red and violet skies rested above Phoenix Wonderland.

Emu and her troupe was performing their spin on a fairytale classic. Emu was dressed in this lovely brown dress. You thought she was adorable and couldn't help whip out your sketchbook and draw her.

The show was over and you had finished your drawing just in time. Emu rushed over to you as soon as she could and gave you a peck on the cheek.

She noticed you had your sketchbook out, and looked at the page out of curiosity.

"Oh! Is that me? I look so wonderhoy!!"

A soft smile spread on your face.

"Are there more drawings of me in there? And most importantly... can I see them!?"

You nodded gently and flipped the pages, showcasing your drawings of Emu.

You sat in class as you waited for the day to be over. You pulled out a green notebook and started drawing Nene out of boredom. You were sat in a spot of the classroom as to where you had the perfect view to look at her for a reference.

You had finished drawing her hair, face, and head as the bell rung. You slowly got up and put your stuff away. As you were putting away your notebook, Nene approached you. She greeted you as you began to close the notebook. Nene stopped your hand from closing the notebook and examined the page you drew her on.

"This is me, right? It looks nice."

"Thank you. It took me a bit to get your hair right, though."

You began to close the notebook and put it away in your bag. Once you were done, Nene's hands intertwined with yours and you began to walk home.

You were visiting Rui's house as he worked on one his inventions. You watched in silence as he worked. You eventually pulled out a notebook from your bag and began to draw him.

After about an hour, you were finished with your drawing. Rui looked over his shoulder and looked at the page.

"Is that me?"

You looked up from the page.

"Yeah.."

"I look wonderful! Would you mind if I hung it up?"

"Not at all, go ahead."

From that day on, Rui would always ask to hang up your artwork of him whenever he found the chance. He's hung up countless of your drawings near his workspace. He thinks your art is wonderful and he adores the way you draw him.

sangha baby he's so adorable and soft and tiny and cute and just so cutie patootie how the hell is he the oldest like it doesn't make sense 😭😭😭 warnings: erm sad sangha :( wc: ~550

"woahh, kangsu must've worked hard for those abs." you said, purposefully a bit louder than you had previously been talking to get sangha's attention. his eyes met your face and then drifted down to your computer where you were flipping over the newly released concept photos for nomad's debut. sangha's throat felt a little dry as he watched you zoom in on the photo, carefully studying the stickers on kangsu's torso.

"awww, it's hello kitty!" you smiled– a little too widely for sangha's liking, before you flipped to the next photos. he watched silently as you complimented doeui, junho, and jiwon, patiently waiting for you to flip to his photo and compliment him as well. you eventually did, clicking over to the concept photo with the lollipop.

but, to sangha's disappointment, you only gave a small approving hum before moving onto jiwon's photo. another exaggerated reaction sounded from your mouth, compliments flowing out about the styling, the hair, the pose, even the abs.

all sangha could do was frown.

you had been curious whether purposefully noticing the other members instead of him would get your silent, reserved boyfriend to finally speak up. but you seemed to have underestimated how conflict-averse he was. he wasn't even willing to comment on it, though his eyes didn't leave your face once. it was as if he was silently willing you to stop with his big pout and sad eyes.

"are you okay, baby?" you asked softly, wondering if a little push was all he needed to voice his feelings. but he only shook his head and averted his gaze, his frown deepening even more. you tried to hold back and continue with your teasing, but it was impossible to resist how cute he was being now. you cupped his face and turned it towards you, cooing softly at his pouty expression.

"i was only teasing. i'm sorry, baby." you said, squishing his cheeks slightly between your palms. he looked away from you, now sporting a hurt expression. "don't be like that, sangha." you giggled, "i was only joking."

he huffed, "it's not funny."

your face straightened, realizing it would take a little bit more work to cheer him up from your little stunt. you had never teased him before, and you silently decided that you would never again because now you felt awful. he looked so sad, and knowing you caused it just for your own entertainment made you feel like a bit of an asshole. he didn't deserve it.

"i'm sorry. you looked amazing in the photos too." he only frowned again, his face still between your hands. "i'm serious. you looked really hot. and i'm sorry for pretending to ignore your photos."

he seemed a little happier by that answer, even letting his gaze drift from the floor back to your face. you took the opportunity to give him a kiss, ensuring that he would forget all about the little stunt. everything was always better when you were kissing sangha, and he loved it just as much as you did; always finding opportunities throughout the day to give you little pecks.

"all better?" you asked, giving one last peck to his lips. he just dropped his head onto your shoulder, mumbling to never do that to him again. you giggled, hugging him close to your chest, and promising you wouldn't.
