Name: Okwaho Samantha Walker Species: Human (Non-powered) Occupation: Owner of Escape Your Fate Comics Age: 28 Years Old Played By: Sunny Face Claim: Kawennáhere Devery Jacobs
"I think I need to step away from the comic books and horror movies for a while…"
TW: Hate crime
Okwaho Samantha Walker was born at a time of unrest. But her birth had been a miracle for her parents. Growing up in Kanehsatà:ke, merely years after the civil unrest between governing bodies and sovereign nations, had proved to be a challenge for Sam’s parents, but the little girl didn’t know any difference. To her, life was good. Surrounded by a loving family, including her grandma and grandpa and many aunties, uncles, and cousins.
It's where she had learned to respect her elders. And grew up with the traditions of the Mohawk people of Kanehsatake. It’s where she first discovered her love of comic books and superheroes. And watched her family cook fry bread and other filling meals during celebrations and loss. But the unrest that remained just in the background of their daily life had once again come to rear its ugly head when the young girl was just eight years old, and it left Samantha’s parents with the tough decision to move leaving behind everything the young girl had ever known about her life, including her family and friends.
Wicked’s Rest, Maine, at first, was boring and intimidating. Sam hadn’t known a single soul at her new school, and she had felt like the odd girl out. The people talked differently and most of the kids stared at her making her feel uncomfortable. For the now nine year old girl, she felt lost and alone. At least until she had met her best friend Zach. It was like an instant connection and as the years went on, the two grew closer and closer.
He introduced her to more than just X-Men comics and bands like Ice Nine Kills and A7X. She introduced him to shitty horror movies and taught him about her culture and introduced him to her family back home via Skype and Facetime calls. They were inseparable; two outcasts who took care of each other when times were tough. And when she got into UMWR for Business, he made sure to celebrate her achievements with the most ridiculous cake and a night out she knew she’d never forget.
Fast forward several years and Sam had finally achieved her dreams of opening her own comic book store aptly deemed Escape Your Fate Comics. Zach was working as a mechanic at his dad’s business, and the two were sharing an apartment in downtown Wicked’s Rest off of Amity Road.
But once again, fate seemed to intervene in Sam’s life leaving her in a state of shock and Zach’s lifeless form laying in an alley just behind the body shop his family owned.
The night had been like any other. Sam had come by after closing up her shop to see how much longer her friend was working and figure out dinner plans, but the instant commotion out back had prompted her to move through the garage and towards the back door to find Zach defending a random stranger who had cowered near a fence. Sam, who had picked up a nearby crowbar, was just about to make her way to her friend, when she noticed a woman, much shorter and smaller than Zach, lift him up by his neck and within a matter of seconds, had squeezed the life out of him, before dropping him leaving her lackeys, including the man who had been cowering in the corner, to feed on him.
In fear and shock, Sam took off on foot, running as fast and as far as she could, before she realized what she had done. It had taken everything within her to go back and to call the police. Life after that had changed drastically and it was as if she were running on autopilot. So much so, that sleep started to become nearly impossible.
Days faded into nights which faded into days again, and while she had thought she had been coping for the most part, she had noticed something strange happening. The people around her seemed to morph and form into what looked like something out of one of the many comic books she had sold. And the longer it went on, the more she realized it was taking her mind off of the recurring thoughts of watching the closest person in her life die.
But now, Sam can’t help but wonder if she’s really losing herself and her grip on reality, or if something more has been going on around her than she previously thought. Whatever it is, she knows that Zach would have gotten a kick out of it, and in some strange way, it almost feels as if he’s still right there with her, but she’s gotta decide if this is really the life she wants to continue to lead and could it lead to answers of what killed her best friend that fateful night?
Character Facts:
Personality: Paranoid, cautious, tired, sarcastic, caring, adventurous, creative, curious, perceptive, imaginative
She was born in Kanehsatà:ke (Kanesatake), Quebec, Canada and lived on the reservation until her parents decided to move to Wicked's Rest, Maine when she was eight years old.
Sam’s first comic book was a random X-Men comic she found in a trash can at school, when she was just six years old. From then on she was hooked and wanted to read any and every comic book she could get her hands on.
Sam has a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever named Scout. He’s her best friend, and she doesn’t go anywhere without him.
Sam was finally able to make one of her dreams come true, when she opened Escape Your Fate Comics a year or so ago.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.
She has an extensive collection of Converse shoes, which takes up a good majority of her closet.
Sam loves metal and rock music and horror movies. However, recently, she’s started to question her taste in movies after something horrific happened to her and her best friend.

✓☮ hiiiii iiiii :-))))
hello hi!! ^^
✓ : funniest word in your language
hmm... it's probably bıdık! it sounds funny, means something like weary according to google translate but adults say it to young kids while being playful with them, something you could say to your child or someone else's child to call them something funny
☮ : translate the first lines of your favourite song in your language
oo, im assuming this means i translate the first lines of my favorite english song into turkish?
i'll take this means war by A7X as the favorite song here -
Sakla yüzümü yeniden / Gölgeler içinde saklan / Günahın bu ağırlığının üstüme çöküşünü hisset / Öl! Bin tane AWOL askerinin pişmanlığı ile / Öl! Tırpanın beni kaçırmasını izle / Bu şekilde devam edemem, bugün ki hâlimle asla / Benim çirkin tarafım güçlü / Nişan al, dolu bir silahla, kaçan herkese sık / Yanlışın içinde bir korkağın doğrusu / Bu Savaş Demek
archghk .... it sounds very stupid in turkish. the original lyrics are fairly poetic

Requiem is such an experience!! And Planet is my favorite off of that album! ugh Planets for me is just such a Kylo Ren/General Hux from Star Wars kind of song, I love it so much. OK Sorry but I'm shifting into super fangirl mode because !!!! SAME! I think it's been around the same time for me too! A friend recommended them to me when I was in 5th grade I think, so around late 2008-ish? I was looking for a song for myspace (lmao) and Bat Country was the first one I heard and they've been my favorite band ever since. You're so lucky you've seen them many times, that is AMAZING! do you have a favorite time you've seen them? I was never allowed to go back in the day and when I finally did in 2013 it kinda sucked because of the people I went with so I'm hoping for another chance soon!
MYSPACE! This is digging up so many memories oh my GOD. I had the deathbat as my profile mouse curser and I thought I was the coolest person alive.
I would like to preface by realizing how ancient I sound by Tumblr standards. I am a fresh 29, but I may as well be 60 with the dates I’m mentioning below. That being said, I can talk about this band until I’m blue in the face. I’ve never met another person who is on the same level so I’m screamin’!!
lmao fun fact: Burn It Down was the FIRST music video I ever watched online and it took HOURS to load because I lived in the country at that point and dial up was actual hell. My mom absolutely freaked out when she saw what they looked like (because our massive Dell desktop WAS in the living room for everyone to snoop at what you were looking at).
I lived in California for a very brief period of time when I was 10 and the only friend I had was my neighbor who was my age so we immediately got along. He was really close with his cousin (she was 18 or 19) but she babysat us together often. ANYWAY she worked at one of the really small diy venues the next town over. Long story short, she dragged us to work with her one afternoon to grab her paycheck or something and they were playing that night. I didn’t get to see them play because I was too young and my parents would’ve 100% murdered the poor girl. BUT I did get to meet them outside while they were smoking lmao. It was the most awkward and weird experience back then because I had no idea who they were (they were so nice but also like “who are these children??”) but I look back on it fondly now.
The first time I got to see them was at Warped in ‘05 from a million feet away because my dad (rightfully so) did not let my 12 year old cantankerous self just waltz into the pits. I had zero fear. I was, admittedly, WAY TOO YOUNG to have been there, but it was an experience.
I think my favorite show was seeing them on the Taste of Chaos tour in ‘08. The lineup was bonkers. If I remember correctly it was A7X headlining with Bullet for my Valentine, Atreyu, Blessthefall (Craig had JUST left and their bassist had to do all the vocals. I remember that distinctly), and some J-Rock bands that I can’t remember as support. I went with my (still) best friend and it was the last tour I saw them on before the Rev passed the following year. They pretty much played their self titled album from start to finish with a few of the classics thrown in. Very, very fortunate.
I think the last time I saw them was at Mayhem Fest in 2014?? I went alone and was able to snag a front row spot at the barricade when they opened the gates for it and it was absolutely incredible. Hearing Requiem live absolutely obliterated me. I still get chills thinking about it.
So between ‘05 and ‘14 I’ve seen them maybe 7 or 8 times??? I wasn’t a huge fan of The Stage (will definitely need to give it another try) so they kind of fell off my radar for a bit. I’d definitely like to see them again if I get the chance because I’ve never seen a bad set from them in any show I’ve been to.
Honestly, I’ve learned by going with people who either can’t handle it or are just not fun concert people to go with that I prefer to go to certain concerts alone. If you’ve never done it before, I highly recommend!

HILARION REIGN
An angel warmly greets you and mentions that a prince has just returned from prison, offering comfort. Hilarion Reign, everyone proudly refers to him as Reign, or Rion. Despite his lack of background, the youthful young man is a pleasure to interact with, being gregarious and enjoying making others laugh.
“Do not question Reign's powers; the angel has bestowed upon his tremendous joy.”
He, is here to provide a variety of opportunities for deeper self-knowledge. He always want to be friends with everyone. He mentioned that his three zodiac signs are Cancer, Gemini, and Capricorn. He enjoys every heartfelt conversation you have and hopes you can grow closer. How about a hobby? He has so many hobbies that he can't even list them all, such as writing, drawing, listening to music, and playing instruments.
“Music is everything,” he said.
He's really into watching movies, even though he doesn't have much time for it. His favorite genres are horror, thriller, and sci-fi. As for music, he's into alternative rock, metal-rock, pop, and indie. Some of the bands he listens to a lot are New Hope Club, Fall Out Boy, A7X, All Time Low, and MCR. For me, ENHYPEN and IVE stand out the most.

Playlists I'm taking song recs for:
If it pleases you or any of these playlists strike a chord like "Oh I know a song that might fit" I'd love to hear them. uwu thank you <3
"Road Trip to The End" Previously: "Driving Gently to the Afterlife," but then A7X's "Bat Country" got added to the list. Songs that are about driving or give off the vibe of driving, to an eventual demise (on purpose or otherwise). Highway To Hell not being added unless I change my mind.
"MILFS & DILFS (fun)": Fun, upbeat songs about young adults or whatever wanting to fuck their friend's parents but like also "1985" by Bowling for Soup is on there.
"Songs that sound like they're about incest but aren't"

I know A Little Piece of Heaven often gets jokingly referred to as ‘that 8 minute song about necrophilia’ (which it VERY MUCH IS, don’t get me wrong. that is literally what it is) but I feel like it’s also important to realize just how like. Absolutely fucking creative this song is. Lyrically sure but also just the orchestration (it’s mentioned in an analysis how the strings kinda follow Matt’s vocals on the chorus which is so COOL) and how much *thought* you can tell went into this.
Like, I remember first hearing this song back in 2011 (which ngl I was. A little too young to fully understand the subject matter lmao.) and it blowing my mind because I’d literally never heard anything like it before. A7X was immensely popular in the online spaces I was in at the time (deviantart, and various online Sim games) and until I heard ALPOH, I didn’t quite understand the hype. After that, I was sold.
Like I can definitely see why they kept putting off working on it — like when you know something will be so good but just can’t devote the energy it needs to make it amazing. But man oh man, I love this song so much. It’s also cool how you can definitely hear traces of Pinkly Smooth and how Jimmy’s work with it absolutely bled over into this song. (To the point where I low key consider it as much of a PS song as an A7X song, ngl.)
What I’m saying is: this song was revolutionary and A7X (and Jimmy in particular) are musical geniuses.

NOOOOOOO WAY YOU HUNG OUT WITH THEM OMG OMG (ik you were still very young, BUT STILL) HOW COOL OMG! Please know that now you’re the coolest person I know. It’s my absolute dream meeting them, and it makes me super sad they’re more exclusive now. The closest I got was meeting Kenny, who was also in the jail scenes with Matt in the Seize The Day video. He was just roaming around the venue when I went to see them, it was the Operation Kickass Festival in San Diego. I spotted him and was super star struck because it felt like the closest I got to be to them. OH OH OH And I’m remembering! When I saw them, we were seated right by the sound system space. The stage was getting geared up for them, and during a moment, I listened to one of the engineers speaking over his walkie talkie and IT WAS MATT. I didn’t catch what he said through the static but I do remember him saying something like, ‘Gates is doing.’ And that was that lmao. But so, soo cool. The Taste of Chaos tour was the one that they filmed for their Live in the LBC right??? Yeah that setlist is amazing!! I wish they still played Second Heartbeat because that one is one of my favorites (and my favorite solos). And for the longest while, when I first listened to them (all City of Evil songs) I hadn’t looked them up or anything and thought they were an older band because of their sound. When I finally looked up live videos of them, I saw the Live in the LBC ones and I was like 😍😍😍😍 they’re so young??? AND HOT???? And was in love. But owwww man, so lucky you got to see Jimmy! I swear I’ve never cried as hard for a musician death (or ever, for that matter) and I was destroyed when that happened. Also because I felt like I was JUST getting properly obsessed with them. Dying over your computer cursor being a deathbat because I had all a7x EVERYTHING. I had an A7X backpack that was so cool, but I went to a catholic school so you can imagine the outrage I caused. And because of that same reason, I didn’t know anyone that were into them, and a7x was all I wanted to talk about all day everyday, so I used to join forums and facebook pages to meet friends. So this is really taking me back! So sorry for the hardcore fangirling and long messages but this band is my life!
Every opportunity where something wild like this happens is when I have no idea who these people are and it only turns out to be a story rather than an experience, but I guess I’ll take what I can get lol.
Thinking back on it, and seeing what I look like now, seeing them at such a young age (when I didn’t know ANYONE who looked like them) must’ve crossed some wires because I currently look like I could’ve been the sixth member of the band 🥴
It’s been so long since I’ve gushed about a band, or even spoken about this one in particular so DO NOT apologize. This is incredibly cathartic.
KENNY! My brain IMMEDIATELY brought his face front and center. My memory of him must’ve been filed away in the tiniest filing cabinet in my brain. I couldn’t tell you what I had for dinner last night, but I can tell you what this man looks like that I haven’t seen or heard about in 15 years looks like. I love when little things like the walkie moment. Those memories always stick and it’s such a cool one to have!
When Jimmy died I was devastated. Like…I’ve never mourned a family member the way I mourned him. I think that’s also one of the reasons why I fell off with them for a while. I remember listening to Fiction for the first time YEARS after the album came out and just losing it in my car when I heard his voice. It sounds so silly but they went out of their way to make themselves accessible for the fans to get to know them behind the scenes.
I’m with you with all of the A7X gear 😂 my obsession with the deathbat was wild. I was convinced I was going to get it tattooed the second I turned 18 and while that didn’t happen (thank god it would’ve been SO BAD. I know it in my heart.)…the temptation is still there 😏
I am still, to this day, really good friends with someone I met on an A7X forum on Mibba WAAAAY back in the day. Trying to scrape together crumbs of info on these dudes back then was insane. just crawling through the internet trenches. I also think they are also the reason I dipped my toes into the world of fanfiction. I never wrote at that point, but I read anything I could find and it spiraled from there.

"Everything's going to be okay. I'm here now". You put pressure on the womans head waiting for an ambulance to arrive. This wasn't something you immediately wanted to walk into when coming home from deployment. But you were glad to help.
"Is my husband okay"? The woman asked, you looked around and saw that he had been thrown from the vehicle. He wasn't moving. She was bleeding badly and you didnt know what she had hurt so you didnt want to give her bad news.
"I think someone is helping him". You didn't lie, there was someone checking his pulse.
"What's your name"? She asked weakly.
"Sergeant First Class Y/N Y/L/N". You said with a smile. The sirens started to fill your ears as they got closer.
"Glad to meet you". She held onto your hand as the paramedics took over.
"Glad to meet you as well". You squeezed her hand to let her know you were right there.
While the paramedics took over the cops decided to show up. Clearing the way so the ambulance can get out as a crowd was forming.
"Hey,  are you a witness? Did you see what happened"? A younger man, about your age came up to you with his note pad.
"Yeah, I was walking past when a truck hit them".
"Can you talk with my Sergeant on what happened"?
"Sure". He led you to a man that was giving orders to every cop there.
"This is Sergeant Hank Voight. She's a witness and she helped the victims". The young guy told him.
"Nice to me you". Sergeant Hank Voight stuck out his hand for you to shake. You gladly took it.
"Nice to meet you as well. I'm Sergeant First Class Y/N Y/L/N".
"Can you tell me what happened"?
"I just got off the plane and started walking down the road. Got to the stop sign and bam. A truck plowed into the car. The husband was projected out of the car. The truck backed up and left".
"What kind of truck was it"?
"A newer model. Had a logo on the back of the window. License plate was A7X BATC. It was a black and silver truck. Male driving.  No passengers".
"You got all of that"? Voight seemed impressed.
"In my job sir, I have to remember a lot of things. So I got pretty good at remembering numbers".
"If you had to could you remember what the guy or truck looked like"?
"Yes, probably".
"Okay, give me your information and we'll call if we have anymore questions".
"Yes, sir". You smiled taking his pen and paper.
"Welcome home, soldier". Hank smiled widely.
"Thank you, sir. It's good to be home".
After filling out your information, you got released to head home. By this time you were really tired and jet lagged.
Entering your place, nothing had changed. Just the pile of dust that had formed. But this was home and you were happy to be home. Even if it was a short period.
Forget about unpacking, you threw off the bed spread and jumped into bed. Moaning into the soft sheets. Slowly drifting off to sleep.
Ring ring. Ring ring.
"Hello"?
"Miss Y/L/N"?
"Sergeant First Class Y/N Y/L/N, speaking". You corrected him.
"This is detective Jay Halstead, we spoke yesterday. We have a few more questions and a possible ID of the suspect. Could you come in and verify"?
"Sure. I'm be happy too".
"Thank you. See you soon".
Hanging up the phone, you groaned getting out of bed. This was the longest you slept in forever. It was 0700 hours. So you headed for the shower and jumped in. Quickly getting dressed. Heading out to the police station.
"Excuse me, I was a witness yesterday in a accident. Detective Jay Halstead called and told me to come in". You told the woman at the desk.
"I'll call him down for you". She said and got on the phone. Hearing boots coming down the stairs you turned to find Sergeant Voight in Detective Halsteads place.
"Sergeant Voight".
"Sergeant First Class Y/N Y/L/N, glad to see you again. Come with me and I'll show you some people that may have done this". He nodded to the stairs and you followed.
"I hope I can be of help. How are the couple"?
"The wife made it. But her husband passed on impact".
"That's awful. Hopefully you catch this guy".
"With your help. We can". He said leading you into a room with a two way mirror. "Do you recognize anyone that could be the driver"?
Looking over the men, some were short and some were tall. Some had hair and some were bald. But as you got to number three he looked awfully familiar.
"Number three. He's the driver of the truck. He had a red baseball cap on but that's him".
"You're a hundred percent sure"?
"A thousand percent sure. I'll bet my rank on it".
"Okay. Thank you. Now will you look at some pictures of trucks to see if you recognize any of them"?
"Sure". You followed him out of the room and to his office. He pointed to the chair and you sat down.
"Here's a few trucks see if any look familiar". He handed you a black book.
"So how long are you on leave"? Hank asked clearing his throat as he sat down.
"Six months. I just got back from an assignment. Then I stupidly signed up for a one year mission".
"Oh. Stupidly you say"?
"Yeah, my friend is in my unit and she said let's join the mission. Theres cute boys. I'm far from looking for boys. I dont have time for them". You chuckled.
"Oh yeah. That's understandable. You know, with your job and everything". Hank nervously chuckled.
"Yeah, plus the boys I'm with are totally mamas boys. They just joined to get chicks and kill things. I like men that know that not everything is fun and games. They know how to take charge and take care of business". You grinned, looking up at Hank. Who blushed.
"This truck right here. I remember the logo on the back". You pointed to the picture, handing Hank the book.
"Great. Thank you". He cleared his throat and got up, walking to his door. He called for one of his coworkers and gave them the book.
"So was that the guy"?
"Yeah". He said coming back to sit down.
"He's going away for awhile, right"?
"Oh yeah. He's not going unpunished for this. You did good".
"Thank you, sir. We should celebrate". You offered.
"We? Um, yeah". He twitched around in his seat.
"Great. I know a great restaurant that makes killer tacos and drinks".
"Sounds wonderful. Pick you up around seven"?
"Perfect. See you later, Sergeant Voight". You smiled and went o walk out.
"Call me, Hank". He said.
"Okay. Hank". You bit your lip and walked out. Hank sat back into his chair his arms over his head and a smile on his face.

What type of music do you like? What are your favorite songs?
Hoo boy, this is going to be hard because I'm one of those "bit of everything" people! I do have preferences for rock tho, older faves being Black Sabbath, Queen, Blue Öyster Cult, and Bauhaus! As for newer ones, I love Modest Mouse🖤 Not rock music, but Avenged Sevenfold is my guilty pleasure 🥴 I also enjoy basically any orchestral music with strings (I used to play the cello in an orchestra 🤭).
My all-time favorite songs are (basically songs I can play all day without getting tired of them):
BÖC - Don't Fear The Reaper
Modest Mouse - Ocean Breathes Salty, Spitting Venom, People As Places As People
Radiohead - Reckoner
Neil Young - Heart Of Gold
Led Zepplin - Stairway To Heaven, When The Levee Breaks
A7X - Chapter Four, Bat Country
Dmitri Shostakovich - Waltz no.2
I can list more, but then this post is gonna go on FOR EVER, so I'll stop here kehehe
