A LOW HUM UNDER HIS BREATH, TEARING HIS EYES AWAY FROM THE NEWSPAPER IN HIS HANDS.  Automatically,  William stretches up, tugging Juliet down into his lap where he sits in his armchair,  pressing lips to her hair and letting his touch linger.  Still half - asleep,  his usual energy lacks:  his desire for her never does.  “ A trip? "

He hums,  the cogs in his mind beginning to turn.  Lately he’s been carried away with work  –  when is he not?  –  and feels a sting of regret that he’s been neglecting Jules more than he means to.   Where to take her to make up for it ?   Hire a babysitter,  or better yet,  leave Mike in charge.  He doubts Juliet would allow that,  but William privately thinks it might give the boy some maturity he’s sorely missing.   

“ I could book lunch at that steak place in town. ”   He offers idly, wrapping one arm around her waist and kissing once again in her hair.  “ Or a few nights at the hotel – oh, what was its name. ”   Fingers snap absent-mindedly,  and then pale blue eyes glance up to his wife.  “ The one next to Salt Lake City.  The fancy one.  I did say we ought to go back. ”

"I don't." Leave it to William to make things difficult. He had, once, never questioned her love for him. Now, well on the other side of a divorce? He couldn't accept see any other explanation for her leaving him. ( Certainly not his absence or his moody temperaments or the responding gaslighting when she challenged him on any of the aforementioned subjects. ) They had been perfect on the exterior—what mattered, in the end—and then she had made a fool of him. And perhaps broken his heart, if one ignored how much of that was his fault.

She was supposed to just drop off the kids and leave. Or, well, that was William's opinion while he stood nursing his coffee from a hefty mug he was fairly certain she had gifted him. Christmas? Birthday? He should toss it. ( He wouldn't. ) He half-sat against the edge of the counter, mug between hands. Steadying. The heat was burning his palms. Christ, he hated this. "I loved you, but that didn't bloody well matter, did it? We had something beautiful, and you walked away from it." While he had fought her in the hopes of avoiding divorced, sometimes yelling, sometimes pleading. Pathetic and embarrassing to look back on. His words were sharp, bitterness he wondered if he'd ever move past festering between the words: "I mean, for fuck's sake, do I need to hear about your past feelings—you've moved on, after all. Haven't you?"

The outfit? The attitude? "It's like someone shot Cas and my brother with a merge ray." There was definitely a joke to be made there but, well, Sam was not going to make it. "This better be. . . real. I don't wanna find out three days from now that, like, Gabriel's trying to, I don't know, teach me a lesson about accepting that Dean's into an angel. Seriously, I don't care."

She says nothing as she pads down Lux's staircase, stepping over to the piano and sliding in next to him. Chloe can feel his eyes like a single spotlight roaming over her, warm and intense, so she doesn't need to. She savors the silence, and the way his attention is hers.

Her smile is tired yet tender as she turns her gaze up toward his. There is something to be said about going to Lucifer after a long day, but she can't fathom being anywhere else, "I like this one. Don't stop on my account."

"IT WAS MY FAULT" PROMPTS - ALWAYS ACCEPTING !

“NOW WHAT GOOD WOULD THAT DO,” WILLIAM SAYS, a faux-easiness in his voice that couldn’t sound more uncharacteristic, “shouting at you won’t stop you from half - assing your responsibilities and getting people injured, will it?”

Simmering with quiet anger, though his voice remains calm, controlled. He is capable of some restraint after all. Turning to the customer who had lodged a complaint about the still slippery floors — of course Michael hadn’t cleaned them right, of course he hadn’t — William’s false smile could have soothed even the most temperamental of customers. “Rest assured, my son will ensure this doesn’t happen again.” He says, turning to Michael. “You’ll be more careful in future. Won’t you?”

Only then does he let his facade fall, the usual tension splaying over his face, eyes hardening in irritation. Letting Michael work here to make a little extra money had been a good idea to begin with (a way for him to keep an eye on his son, too) but with the amount of . . . disappearances surrounding the restaurant, the last things William wants or needs are injuries and unhappy customers. The business is falling apart as it is without Michael adding to it.

“I’m sure you’ve learned your lesson.” He won’t shout at Michael publicly — the kid’s got some time before William can drag him back home and snap at him properly like he wants — “We’ll talk about this later.”

Her finger traced over to the next. Present. "Four of Wands." Jayne was smiling again. "Good card. You're happy, to put it quite plainly. You have happiness, health, love, support. If I'm not a hack—" she laughed, "—I think you're enjoying life a damn lot right now. You kept moving forward, and now you've got something to celebrate." And lastly, the future. Jayne's smile softened but did not fade. "Two of Swords. You're going to face a hard choice, and you might not have all of the information you need to make it. Or, well, you might refuse to acknowledge the reality of the choice at first." Jayne paused, sitting back in her chair. "That sounds dire, I'm sure, but believe me, it could be about anything. Sometimes a difficult choice can be between two equally good options, so don't worry yourself."

a birthday in november is easy to overlook: late fall, only a breath away from the start of yet another winter. most years maeve herself has simply... forgotten it is coming, only noticing after it has faded when a form may ask for a date and an age. (it has never seemed worth celebrating or lingering upon. a day a girl too young to ever be a mother gave birth to a far too silent baby.) yet amusement shines so bright on her face, letting tall man tug her along, destination already clearly decided.

she's curious, and she trusts him, so what reason does she have to not follow?

abby & ace: i really should make a dc au for ace! i'm not as familiar with abby but i am Sat and willing to learn. i think that he could be a mutant / other powered type of person in the universe. i don't think he'd be a vigilante or a hero, but he would need help learning to control his abilities, or understanding his place in the world type beat!

kagome & nina: haven't watched inuyasha but again! down for dynamics as always :')) nina is Evil as we all know so with that information, we will do what we will with it.

harley & perona: oh i KNOW, this could be fun! i love the idea of a college au with these two hehehe !!

rukia & haru: yo.... bleach au for haru? he's a samurai in his mainverse. so i think that in itself is a good connection. i can see him being a vizard possibly? maybe write him into that group. but i definitely see lots of potential here! but, also him being in the academy with rukia but going rogue for whatever reason?

luna & jason: she's a newer muse so i haven't had the chance to think of her in other aus outside of her main. but, i can easily spin her as an alien or otherworldly type person. maybe a dimension traveler! i like that idea for her and getting accustomed to the modern world. or even a vigilante au for her!! i think she could do really well in that.
