Perturabo wakes slowly, groggily, his mouth sour from the liquid filth the Wolves had offered at the victory celebration the night before, their sharp fanged smirks and dubiously raised eyebrows incensing him enough that he’d drunk to match the lot of them, including his thrice damned feral brother, who’d watched the proceedings beside the Warmaster with a level of rakish nobility that tore at Perturabo’s bitter pride; by the time Magnus had showed up, Russ and Horus were arm-in-arm singing nonsensically and Perturabo had been forgotten, again. 

“You’re pouting,” Magnus says behind him and Perturabo grits his teeth, rolling over to glare up at him, but before he can say anything, Magnus continues, “I do not understand why you felt compelled to spend time with Leman Russ of all people but if you are concerned about what happened, know that  earlier some of them were singing song of the Iron Primarch who drank with them,” he pauses and casts and a fond glance at him, “And some, nay possibly even most of what they sang was positive.” 

“I care not for the opinions of beasts,” Perturabo snarls and Magnus chuckles, leaning down to press a warm kiss against his scowling brow; Perturabo knows he’s been placated and he accept it for a moment before pulling away and asking gruffly, not meeting Magnus’ humored gaze, “What…what manner of backhanded praise were they giving me?”

there’s something really interesting about the effect following nostalgebraist-autoresponder has had on me engaging with my dash

see, i still never look at the icon+url when i read the post

so now every time i read a shitpost / philosophy post / personal post from a stranger / ask response (other kinds of posts on my dash are easily identifiable as human written, autoresponder doesnt post gifsets etc), my brain launches into calculation mode: WAS this written by a human? should I look for meaning here or is it a word soup written by a predictive algorithm?

like previously i would just skim through them like “sure, i’ll incorporate into my worldview that a human person wrote this”. but it matters to my brain that bot posts weren’t? like it’s causing me to confront what i even WANT out of my tumblr experience (relating to other people and understanding them better, apparently, which makes sense yet was a non-trivial realization nonetheless)

I don’t even like most bot posts, but... the sheer effect their presence on my dash is having on my cognition is kinda worth keeping them on?

why do i keep seeing whole videos on advice for artfight from “veterans” or whatever. here’s all the advice you need:

you don’t need to draw every day

you don’t need to fully render every drawing, sketches still count and the person receiving it will still love it

you don’t need a fully polished ref sheet for every single character, having a basic one or even just a colour palette along with whatever other art you’ve done works fine in most cases

you don’t need to draw a fully rendered piece every single day do not burn yourself out or injure yourself for funny little internet points good lord

There’s that post that’s like ‘everyone should get into a tiny niche fandom at least once’ fully agree, that was really fun -- but I would like to add that everyone should get into a fandom where their opinions run counter to major fanon because it really teaches you about sticking to your guns and trusting your interpretation of the text without having to rely on peer validation
