honestly, if harry’s afflicted with ‘oedipus complex’, he should’ve set his cap at fleur instead of ginny—since classical theory posits the complex occurs during ages 3-6, usually born from a dearth of paternal intimacy/influence in early infancy—it makes more sense for harry to make sheep eyes at tall, slender, light-eyed blondes. bonus points if they’re a bit older, like fleur, to really strum those matronly, nurturing chords. since petunia’s the only maternal figure he’s known from a tender 16 months and he has no memory of lily... who else will his mind conjure up?
