just finished writing this and realized how long it got oh jeez i am so sorry. i promise it is just me rambling about nothing and does not require a lot of thought.

i made a playlist of r5's entire discography and am listening to it (in order) because there is something wrong with me. if only it had their very first ever ep on it (ready set rock ep you may have been slight garbage but i don't love you any less for it). oh god i realized i fucked up and didn't add the songs by "ross lynch and r5" from the austin & ally soundtrack. i'm already three songs into louder and they would have been between louder and say you'll stay. what do i have to do is actually one of r5's best songs and i'm pretty sure i remember ross calling it one of his favs fairly recently?? which was so valid of him. anyways. this is now an r5 song ranking. i'm bored and avoiding doing assignments. i'm going to name my top 10 r5 songs off the top of my head. source: me trying to remember every song they've ever released.

no. 1: easy love. nothing comes close. my fav song they ever made. they haven't made anything that even compares since (this is /hj. tde has some valid songs).

no. 2: wishing i was 23. what do you mean i only love this song because of my nostalgia bias no i don't.

no. 3: what do i have to do? i will not elaborate i do not know why i adore this song as much as i do it's just a cute song.

no. 4: repeating days. THE END. THE FUCKING END AFTER THE SONG ENDS THE "all i've got is cheap wine" PART ross sounds so vulnerable and him with just the guitar makes me so :(((((( it's so gorgeous that part makes the whole song and that makes it top 3 for me.

no. 5: i want u bad. THAT SONG FUCKS LIVE. I DO NOT WANT TO THINK ABOUT THE FACT THAT I WILL PROBABLY NEVER SEE IT LIVE AGAIN. (speaking of concerts i can't believe you bought concert tix and fucking forgot??? that is actually so fucking funny bella it made me laugh i will not lie)

no. 6: dark side. so so valid of them. it just fucks. it's so good. it makes u want to dance. u named a fic after a lyric from it which was so valid.

no. 7: did you have your fun? i love this song. no i will not elaborate. it is a sexy song. what's that one lyric from it that's hot. "love me, leave me, left me numb" some lyrics you love for no particular reason and for me that's one of those lyrics.

no. 8: f.e.e.l.g.o.o.d. this has alwayysss been one of my favs by them. since it dropped. some lore about it: the like crowd yelling that's in it they recorded live at a festival they played and i remember there being hype about this being an unreleased song when they had the crowd chanting "f-e-e-l-g-o-o-d" with no explanation. also another fun fact is that the final version of this is just a demo?? source: my slightly faulty memory remembering ross saying something about some demos being so good that you keep them as they are and it later being revealed this was the song he was talking about.

no. 9: i know you got away. sexy song. they released a vocals only version of it (that has apparently since been deleted?? i went to look for it on youtube and couldn't find it?? wtf r5) that has stuck with me ever since.

no. 10: loud. but more specifically the acoustic or live version. this was their encore song that they played to end every show. i MISS IT. it holds a special place in my heart.

honorable mentions: hurts good (a good song and THEIR LAST THEY EVER RELEASED VV SAD), wild hearts (fun fact almost picked a lyric from this song as my senior quote till i found out they didn't write this song), fallin' for you (YOU LIKE MISMATCHED SOCKS WITH POLKA DOTS YOU LIKE YOUR PIZZA COLD I THINK THATS HOT i never saw this song live and i'm still fucking pissed about it ok), do it again (it's such a sweet song :(((( "listen to the airplanes as we count the stars" gives me the same vibes as six feet under the stars), things are looking up (generally just a cute song!! this whole ep is just very good and very cute!! when i saw it live one time during the bridge ross was like "everyone shut up this is my favorite part >:(" and that was so valid of him) i can't say i'm in love (it's just a fun song!! it was a bonus track on sln from another country), trading time (this is the only song from the new addictions ep that i listed and u know what i'm Not sorry)

ok. i will spare you and stop rambling. other honorable mentions: if you have never listened to cool girl (feat. the driver era) by new beat fund i highly recommend. it's an okay song but it was one of the first songs released after they rebranded as tde and includes ross saying motherfucker with his whole chest. i will never again feel what i felt the first time i heard that song having listened exclusively to them as r5 whose songs they couldn't curse in because they were on a disney label.

in conclusion. i miss r5. ross saying fuck is kinda hot. i listened to the entirety of louder while writing this. i am sorry to dump this in your askbox. i still have multiple assignments to do and should probably go to sleep at a decent time. it feels fitting to finally stop writing while easy love is on. when i was 12 and this ep came out i thought "dirtbags" was a curse word and was scared to sing it. they changed it to "douchebags" live.

love by chance ::

summary: pete is a popular and wealthy student who is very shy, which is caused by the fact that he is secretly gay. he meets ae, a fellow student and they quickly become friends. pete starts to have feelings for ae, but doesn’t want him to experience ridicule for being with a man, so he attempts to repress his feelings

my thoughts: this show is amazing tbh. one of my alltime favorite dramas ever ngl. it has 5 couples that are shown on screen (with small cameos from / mentions of tharntype), all of which are cute (except klano. we dont talk abt klano.) 

ending: mixed, depending on the couple. the main couple (aepete) has a happy ending, but three of the side couples have open endings, one of which is super angsty

sequel(s): there’s a second season coming out in february, in which the side couple that got the angsty ending (tincan) will be the main couple!!

history 2: border crossing ::

summary: yuhao is rebellious and has a short temper. when he is approached by the captain and manager of the school’s volleyball team, he isn’t interested, but eventually ends up joining. he then develops a very close bond with the team manager, zixuan, which turns into something more than friendship

my thoughts: very very cute !!!!! i loved it so much omf. also the side couple is step brothers and although they don’t get much screen time, they’re still cute. also the kisses b/w yuhao and zixuan (despite 1 of the only 2 being in a dream) are F A N T A S T I C

sequel(s): there’s a 2nd season coming out sometime in 2020, but idk when. also it’s apart of a series called HIStory which has several different storylines, all of which being bl. they are not related to each other in terms of characters or anything, though, so don’t expect to see familiar characters ^^

sotus: the series ::

summary: kongpob is a 1st year engineering student who stands up against head hazer and 3rd year arthit, who the first years feel is cruel / overly strict. the two start out as enemies, become friends, and eventually develop feelings for each other

my thoughts: no sexual stuff like many other bls, instead focuses on the romance part of it, the evolving relationship/friendship between kongarthit, the internal struggle of figuring out one’s sexuality, and the bond formed between students/friends/classmates. honestly?? storyline is gotdamn beautiful and i cried more than once just bc i was so overcome

ending: happy :)) (for all seasons and special eps)

sequel(s): there is a 2nd season titled sotus s: the series which takes place 2-3 years after the 1st season, where kongpob has become head hazer and arthit is now out of college and in the working world. kongarthit is also featured in the multi-bl special sequel titled “our skyy” which has special episodes set after the main official dramas surrounding various bl couples !

my thoughts: god SO much angst. it isnt an ep of twm if there isn’t angst smh my heart hurts watching it. BUT . it also has cute moments, funny af moments, and some SEXY AF moments . the sex / kiss scenes are unmatched bro . holy shit . watch the uncut versions too theyre even hotter i cant breathe 🥵

sequel(s): there are two “sequels”, one: together with me: the next chapter (which apparently wasn’t as good as s1 but i havent seen it) and then two: bad romance which features kornknock but the main couple is boyxgirl (and it aired first, but it’s set chronologically AFTER twm)

summary: third is secretly in love with his best friend, a straight playboy/manwhore named khai. he tries to stop his feelings, but is unsuccessful until he overhears something he wasn’t meant to. third, heartbroken, decides once and for all to stop loving khai- but just when third stops, khai starts.

my thoughts: anGST goddammit bl dramas love their angst huh. anyways i love the general plot of this and also like ? how aware the creators are of the plot sorta bc the movie flipped is a large af part of the show . also the kiss that ive seen ?? whew YES bro . also like before we get the happy ending there’s SOOOO much angst, even after they both know that they like each other ksjdf i haven’t finished it bc im mentally preparing myself

sequel(s): n/a, but if you want another drama where these actors are together, puppy honey has the same actors as a the couple pick and rome (idk if they have a happy ending though?? i havent seen it)

summary: love is a girl who is a huge fan of vier, a boy who attends great men academy (an all-boys school). one day she helps an injured unicorn by a lake (dont ask BRO DONT ASK) who then grants her one wish: to fulfill her love. unfortunately, the unicorn interprets love’s wish differently than expected, and turns her into a boy. love decides to attend great men academy in her male form, but she must remember to return to the lake and submerge herself every night before midnight to turn into her female form again, or she’ll be stuck in her male form forever

my thoughts: this drama........ whoever thought of this plot was on crack or smth. s’cute though. all the male characters are members of 9x9 (including captain, who plays noh in lovesick) also the main lead ends up with the person everyone acTUALLY wanted him/her to end up with so . YAY FOR US. still a WEIRD ass plot though

They don't talk, really; Caleb needs to concentrate and Fjord doesn't want to move too much. Nott's dagger isn't the best razor, sharp though it may be. The silence is comfortable, and they both enjoy listening to the happenings on the ship outside of their quiet oasis.

Having Caleb's undivided attention is almost a physical sensation. Fjord is used to scrutiny, used to hating it and shrinking from it, but this is different. As laid bare as he feels, the fact that Caleb is the one doing the looking is pleasant, even comfortable. Part of him is flattered, almost shy at the fact that Caleb will remember this moment forever.

He’d initially intended on having Beau help clean up the sides, given her experience maintaining her own haircut, but she’d been busy making the rounds with the crew to check in on the state of morale. Caleb had found him wandering the ship at loose ends and asked him what he was looking for. So now Caleb is here, shirtsleeves rolled past his elbows, somewhat paradoxical next to the bandages still wrapped up his arms, doing a damn good job cleaning him up.

Caleb's hands are careful and deft, brushing the long hair over the top and separating it from the shaggy sides. Once or twice he pauses to stroke it, raking his blunt nails against Fjord's scalp. It's not dissimilar to how he scratches Frumpkin, and Fjord understands why that cat purrs so damn loudly now. He almost falls asleep under Caleb's ministrations.

"Come on," Caleb murmurs, and if Fjord didn't know better he'd swear there was the hint of a laugh at the edge of his voice, "stay with me here."

"I'm trying, I promise," he replies.

"Alright," Caleb gently tilts his head around, guiding Fjord to look down at the floor while he cuts the back. He makes quick work of it, either that or Fjord zones out again and comes back as Caleb is brushing the stray hairs to the floor and taking Fjord's head in two gentle hands.

"Last bit, unless you want me to trim the top," he says, brushing everything into alignment. Fjord feels his fingers stall in the patch of salt at his temple, rubbing a small circle among the grey hairs.

"If you don't mind, could probably do with a trim there as well. Keep me looking ship-shape."

There's a lot they haven't discussed. Conversations that keep getting pushed aside in favor of more pressing concerns.

"Will do."

This is the first moment of quiet they've had in what feels like a month, and Fjord doesn't want to disturb it. The drag of the blade picks up again, and his thoughts simmer. All the words he wants to say are sitting on his tongue, but he forces them back for now. He wants to ask about Caleb’s plans, if he has anyone in the Empire he’s worried about now that the war has gotten worse, how he feels about everything that’s happened at sea so far. He wants counsel, wants to get some sense of where they stand.

He's noticed Caleb for a while; first as an intriguing unknown quantity, then as a source of arcane knowledge. More recently, however, things have shifted. Caleb has turned from a shady traveling companion to a trusted comrade and friend. Fjord has become keenly aware that, despite Caleb's claims to the contrary, behind the brusque and withdrawn shell lies a sincerely kind and charming man. And, well. Fjord isn't about to pretend that Caleb isn't handsome, under the dust.

Caleb brushes the stray trimmings back with a gentle hand and Fjord tries to keep from leaning into it too obviously.

"Hang on, let me just find some scissors. I'll be right back." He pats Fjord's shoulder and is out of the cabin without another word. 

Fjord is seized by the sudden urge to bury his face in his hands and groan. Instead, he brushes his fingers over the freshly shaved sides and thinks. He doesn't want to upset this fragile balance they've found, but he's on his last nerve. The trouble is that for as comfortable as he seems to be with physical closeness, Caleb is powerfully skittish; and Fjord has no damn clue how he's going to react to this sort of thing. As much as he talks about "calculated risks" and seems willing to throw his lot in with this party for better or worse, he's not too keen on getting personal. Assuming Caleb would want to get personal with him is a leap he’s not sure he wants to risk.

And something like this would be very personal indeed.

Caleb comes back then, and Fjord twists in his seat to see him frowning at a pair of beat-up iron scissors.

"Something wrong?" Fjord asks.

"These are all that we had on board, but they’re terribly dull," Caleb says, and looking close, Fjord can see some decently sized nicks in the blade.

Before he can ask if Caleb has some sort of plan, he watches as Caleb props the scissors open with one hand. With the other, he pinches a blade between his fingers and slides them along the length of it. Fjord sees how the scissors shine with new life in the wake of this gesture, and it hits him that Caleb sharpened and repaired the blades with nothing more than a bit of magic and his bare hands. It's a casual display of delicate finesse and sheer arcane power, and Fjord’s mouth goes a little dry.

"So, just tidy it up?" Caleb asks as he tests the motion of the scissors, and Fjord takes a moment to realize he has to answer.

"Oh, uh- yes please." He collects himself a bit more. "That was mighty impressive."

It's Caleb's turn to be thrown for a loop now, and Fjord is treated to the sight of a blush dusting over his usually pale face. It's adorable.

"Just a bit of basic transmutation," he says, ducking his head and moving to stand directly behind Fjord.

 "All the same, it's quite a skill," he says as he lets Caleb move his head to the angle he needs.

Caleb just hums in reply, which Fjord counts as a win. He sets to trimming, which is a more involved task than shaving. Caleb flits around Fjord, checking lines and making sure everything is even. Making conversation is easier, though, without a dagger behind his ear.

"How did you learn to do this?"

Caleb huffs softly, another not-quite laugh. "I used to cut quite a sharp figure in my youth."

Fjord believes it, too. He imagines what Caleb would look like now, with his hair cut and his scruff trimmed. He remembers how Caleb made himself look, that night they met Jester’s mother.

"I bet you were quite a looker," Fjord says. Those words he's been trying to hold back slip through his teeth and before he even knows what he's doing he says, "You're certainly one now."

The scissors pause mid-cut, and he sees Caleb's free hand freeze in his peripheral vision.

"You're just saying that because I have a pair of razor-sharp scissors next to your temple."

"I assure you I'm not," Fjord says, trying to snag control back over the situation, and the gentle snips resume. He can't see Caleb's face, which makes this both easier and harder to say. "I remember how you cleaned up, back in Nicodranas."

Caleb swings around to Fjord's front, to trim the not-quite-bangs he's been growing out. His focus is intense, but settled on the task at hand, and decidedly not making eye contact. His face is red as a brand.

"And I mean that," Fjord goes on, looking at Caleb's scarlet ear rather than his face. "Been meaning to tell you, but...well. Haven't really had the chance."

Caleb makes a couple more decisive snips of Fjord's hair, sets the scissors down and crouches to meet Fjord's seated eye level.

He stares at Fjord then, an intense searching gaze; like he's trying to see if Fjord is actually telling the truth. Whatever he sees there seems to satisfy him, and he reaches out to brush Fjord's hair back into place. It's a gentle gesture, even tender, at odds with the wrinkle in his brow.

“Is that all you’d been meaning to tell me?” Caleb asks, cocking his head.

There's a weight to that sentence that Fjord wasn't expecting. Fjord hears the meaning behind it, or at least he thinks he does. It almost feels like they're speaking in code, or thieves' cant. He's only working with half the codex, and any mistake would sink him. Asking to speak plainly would destroy the delicate balance, so all he can do is tread carefully.

“One of the things,” he says. He makes a gamble, and reaches a hand out to Caleb. He waits for a long second before Caleb’s hand settles into his and holds it. His hand is warm and calloused, and his long fingers lace together with Fjord’s.

"You are quite handsome yourself," Caleb says, his voice low, tentative almost. "I feel you don't need me to tell you that, though."

"It means more though, coming from you."

“Does it?” It’s not quite a question, and Caleb is looking at him a bit like Fjord is the puzzling one, like Caleb is the one worried and not quite sure where he stands.

The thought that he and Caleb have been dancing around each other this whole time, standing in the exact same position but somehow opposite, boggles him. The entire time, he’d thought his feelings would be, at best, unreturned.

“Yeah,” he says, trying to hide the shake in his voice at the sudden realization, “it really does.”

Apparently things could occasionally turn out better than he’d hoped. He grips Caleb’s hand a little tighter, dares to lean in a little closer.

“Anything else you need?” Caleb asks, and the smile on his face is a rare one, so gentle and peaceful, and Fjord would do anything to keep that smile on his face.

“Well, he says, tilting his head a bit, “There was one thing, if it’s not an imposition.”

Caleb’s eyes are impossibly blue. “I think I have some idea,” he says, “no imposition at all.”

His free hand comes up and traces along the line of Fjord’s jaw, pulling him in. The kiss is soft, sweet and tentative. When they part Caleb is staring at him again; that feeling of focus, of Caleb committing the moment to memory, pulls him in again for a second kiss, then a third.

There are plans to be made, and things they need to discuss before they get to port. But they don’t need to talk just yet. For now, they’ve said enough.

My 13.01 Opinion

Lost and Found I can’t tell you how happy I am that the boys are back, hiatus is over. and I can do this again!! Let’s get started shall we? From the jump, my emotions were high. We enter a brand new season to the tune of Nothing Else Matters by Metalica. Every season before now has used an upbeat song to open with, but this song is deep and emotional. The lyrics are SO fitting to Sam and Dean and where they are now. I will include the lyrics at the end of this, but I was particularly moved by the line

 “Trust I seek and I find in you. Every day for us, something new. Open mind for a different view, and nothing else matters” You can tell right away this season is going to be a hard one for our boys. Not that it hasn’t been before, but this one is going to emphasize that Sam and Dean can make it through anything, if they have each other. Nothing else matters but them in their world, and this show.  We start off immediately after where we left off at the end of S12. Sam being the first to meet Jack, and Dean looking at Cas’s body. Jack’s first word is to Sam and it’s “Father” of course Sam tells him he isnt his father, but this is going to be important in regards to Sam and Jack’s relationship. Sam is the first person he saw, the first to show him kindness, and the first to defend his life. Jack wont forget later when shit inevitably hits the fan.  Dean leaves Cas’s body to find Sam and he too meets Jack, but both he and Jack are startled at the sight of each other, Dean’s instinct is to shoot, and Jack’s is to scream and do this AWESOME thing that suspends Sam and Dean in mid air, and the effect where they move their heads in slow motion to look at each other was AWESOME!! I was really impressed with this and said WOOOAAAHHH!! out loud! 

Sam and Dean are knocked unconscious and Jack takes off.  Just before waking however, Dean has a dream or vision about their mother burning. Standing in front of them, like they were in 12.23 and catching fire, and then burning on the ceiling like in 1.1. This wasnt elaborated on, so it will probably come up later. We move on to Sam and Dean driving, looking for Jack. Dean is wrecked, talking about who they’ve lost (Cas, Mom and Crowley) and Sam, I cant say he was really in denial, or optimistic, but rightfully in disbelief, given their history, Sam was more like “Are they really gone?” Jack is walking down the road, completely naked, He arrives at a burger shack and talks into the drive through speaker, still looking for his father. This is really where the show establishes his innocence. I like Jack, a lot! They found us a very good actor to play a very interesting character, and I couldnt be happier with him!  Moving forward, we have 2 angels that appear over Cas’s body and they have a short exchange that shockingly mirrored the opinions of the fandom over the summer. The one Angel says “Castiel deserved better” and the other Angel responded “No, he actually didnt”. I was like “Wow, have they read Tumblr?” This has been argued all summer between members of the Fandom. Now i dont really want to go scene by scene with this, so Ill skip over all the angel fighting and people being flung around and go right to Dean praying  He’s lost, he’s crushed, and hes hopeless. He’s pissed and tells God that he and Sam need help, they’re not good, and they want everyone back that theyve lost, Cas, Mom and Crowley (which I thought very odd he didnt mention Rowena, but maybe there was a point). Dean is an emotional person to start with, but Jensen portrayed him more broken than we’ve seen yet. I personally don’t think it stems solely on these most recent losses, but the huge pile of pain hes suffered in the last 12 years has beat him down and he’s tired.  Sam is also spun out. We know he’s going to be the more optimistic one, but Jared successfully portrayed in his face  that he is just as crushed as Dean, but he’s allowing himself the distraction of Jack. We know Sam, the king of sublimation, cover it up with something else, and dont deal. The funeral pyre scene was heart wrenching. Sam’s lines made me ugly snot cry “We say thank you, we say Im sorry, we hope they’re somewhere better, and we say goodbye” (paraphrased)  Ive seen some some folks a little annoyed with this scene, that it was too much since we know Cas will be back, but we werent supposed to know Cas would be back, that ball kinda got dropped by Jared early on when he made an honest mistake when talking about the Scooby episode. And also, this wasnt just about their most recent losses.it was about everything, where they are now, who they have become, and what theyve been through. As they watched the black smoke of the pyre rise up, I know they were grieving everyone.  I was deeply moved by this episode, and I thought it was fantastic! The best season opener yet by far! Jack is awesome, I cant wait to get to know him better. He is going to bring us some great TV.  On a scale from Bloodlines to Who We Are (Yes, Who We Are tops my list now) I am going to give Lost and Found a 9. My only complaint really is the lack of broments. There was plenty of banter, and it wasnt like the brothers were sidelined, its just we havent gotten to the support part yet. Im sure it’s coming, the “we can get through this” and even the arguing about Jack. I think the boys were just acting in the immediate situation and didnt have time to digest whats happened. Im sure its coming though.  Predictions: We know Cas will be back in ep 6. Misha confirmed on twitter that Cas will come back in full power, with all his memories, so he wont be human Cas or Amnesia Cas, he will be more like season 4 Cas. That being said, I dont think Cas is going to be as warm to the Winchesters as he has been. I believe that in full Angel mode, he going to want to kill Jack, like the other Angels wanted to. Maybe not right away, we may get a few episodes where it seems Team Free Will is alive and kicking with a welcomed new member, but down the road, Cas is going to turn on Jack and the boys when his Angelic instincts kick in. I dont know if we will know right away and it just be the boys that are in the dark, and Cas playing them to regain their trust before he tries to take Jack by saying he promised Kelly, or if it will be a kind of “great reveal” like we had other times when Cas was deceiving them, But I certainly dont think the brothers’s relationship with Cas is going to be rainbows and butterflies for long. I also think there is a strong possibility that Cas will want to kill Sam too, being an “abomination” himself. So my thougth is, dont let yourself think that this is going to be one big happy hunter family, because its not going to be. I also think when Lucifer comes back, and he will, he will get to Jack and influence him badly. Jack will turn on the boys also, but not permenantly, it will come back to him that Sam and Dean did take care of him and showed him love, Sam particularly.  I feel like this season is going to press the issue that when everything and everyone else crumbles and falls at their feet, that Sam and Dean have each other. And nothing else matters.

Question: Got any Riverdale scoop? What’s next for Archie? —Kerri Ausiello: When we last saw Archie in the fall finale, he was dyeing his famous red locks and making a run for the Canadian border. Executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa won’t tell us who he finds when he gets there, but “he is headed into the Canadian wilderness, for sure.” He won’t be seeing his dad Fred in the flesh anytime soon, though: It wasn’t shown on-screen, but the EP confirms that Fred did make it back into Riverdale before the quarantine came down.

Question: Any Million Little Things scoop? My friends and I are obsessed with it and hope it’s back for another season. —Montreal4 Ausiello: Remember how showrunner DJ Nash said that everyone in the group of friends has a secret they’ve kept? Look for Regina’s to come to light in Episode 14.

Question: Any scoop on what to expect when Grey’s Anatomy returns? —Al Ausiello: I will have a special holiday treat for you this coming Monday, so sit tight. In the meantime, I tried to get showrunner Krista Vernoff to share even the tiniest bit of intel about Jennifer Grey’s mysterious character and… I struck out. “I can’t [say anything],” she responded. “Because it would really ruin a twist and turn that I don’t want to ruin.” Hmm… I’m sticking with my initial prediction: She’s Jo’s mom.

Question: Anything on The Good Place? (Janet, specifically.) —Whitney Ausiello: Everyone’s favorite not-a-robot will be forever changed by having the humans materialize in Janet form, creator Michael Schur teases: “The way to really have empathy for people is to walk a mile in their shoes, and she did, like, the inverse of that. A bunch of people walked in her weird body for a decent amount of time… so that is another contributing factor to her evolution.” He adds that the season finale “has some pretty wonderful ‘compare this version of Janet to the one you saw in the pilot’ kinds of scenes.” So enjoy, Janet fans!

Question: I’m glad Dorian finally confronted Kaleb about his feeding problem on this week’s Legacies. Can I stop worrying about MG now? —Susan Ausiello: I don’t think it’s ever safe to stop worrying about MG, but as far as Kaleb goes, it sounds like Dorian’s pep talk was just the beginning. “Kaleb has a lot of really big ideas, and a lot of opinions about how things should work,” series creator Julie Plec says. “Much like in the real world when a hot-headed teenager thinks he can second guess what makes the rules the rules, he’s going to have a rude awakening pretty soon where he realizes he doesn’t know as much as he thinks he knows.”

Question: The ending of New Amsterdam‘s fall finale makes me think that Max’s cancer is progressing quicker than first assessed. Will this affect the clinical trial Dr. Sharpe has gotten him into? —Malasha Ausiello: We brought your query to showrunner David Schulner, and he said: “While we can’t reveal here what happened to Max on that dock, we will in our first episode back January 8. But, you’re right to ask if this will affect Max’s clinical trial. It most definitely will. This setback will change a lot of things in Max’s life. And Dr. Sharpe’s too. Thanks for watching and caring and writing to TVLine about the show.”

Question: Will The Flash give us any more hints about what Nora seems to be hiding? —SSH Ausiello: Now that we know there is some sort of alliance with Eobard Thawne, you should expect “a flash-forward flashback episode” that explains “how all that came to be, which will be a lot of fun,” says showrunner Todd Helbing. “You’ll slowly start to get the pieces of info that you need, but there will probably be one episode where we explain how that all happened to get her to come back [in time].”

Question: Challenge: Make me look forward to the Schitt’s Creek holiday episode more than I am already. — Belinda Ausiello: TVLine’s resident Schitthead Charlie Mason promises me that, no matter how great your expectations are, you won’t be disappointed — the special totally “sleighs.” What’s more, he issues a warning that the episode reveals a potential stumbling block to Alexis and Ted’s rekindled romance that neither she nor we anticipated.

Question: I need to know two things about Timeless: First, will #lyatt have a baby? Two, is Jessica really pregnant with Wyatt’s baby? —Miwako Ausiello: In response to your second question, star Matt Lanter says, “We address that [in the series finale, airing Dec. 20]. We’ll find out.” As for Wyatt, he’s not suspicious of Jessica and her baby news. “We’ve seen Wyatt be blinded by love throughout the last two seasons, though, and this is nothing new for him,” Lanter says. “Inherently, he’s a good person with a good heart, and I think he has a hard time accepting that people he loves or cares about … wouldn’t be good. So I think it’s easier as an audience member to look at Jessica and go, ‘Yeah, she’s lying.’ But I think Wyatt is just more blind to things.”

Question: How many time periods will we see in the Timeless finale? —Amanda Ausiello: “There are two-plus time periods, I will say that, that we have not visited before,” showrunner Arika Lisanne Mittman shares, adding that the historical time trips highlight “ethnic representations that we have not seen before [on the show]. Both of these stories are things that [are about] lesser known historical figures. You get to meet some new people that you’ve probably never heard of.”

Question: I’d love a Resident scoop on Conrad/Nic. —Holly Ausiello: I hope you enjoyed the couple’s honeymoon phase while it lasted, because the back half of Season 2 will be “nothing but obstacles” for the pair, according to executive producer Todd Harthan. “In just about every episode, there’s a new one for them to overcome… and they just start stacking up,” Harthan says, adding that the couple will be especially preoccupied with the health of Conrad’s father and Nic’s sister. “It’s going to be a ‘hold on and hope that they make it’ kind of ride,” he teases.

Question: Any hints on how to solve the Blindspot episode title puzzle for Season 4? —Hannah Ausiello: “Oh man! We finally built a title puzzle this season that is legit very hard to crack,” showrunner Martin Gero answers. “I will say this: The puzzle is an homage to some our favorite TV series and how they title the shows. Figure out which, and you might be a step closer.”

Question: Creek’s death on Midnight, Texas was so awful. Please promise me no one dies in tonight’s episode! —Rina Ausiello: I cannot make that promise. But I can tell you that Mr. Snuggly makes it through OK. So that’s something… right?

Question: Got any red-hot Chicago Fire scoopage, Aus? —Gene Ausiello: I see what you did there and I’m… very amused. Well done. The NBC drama is planning some girls-only bonding time for Sylvie, Stella and Emily. “They’re going to go on a road trip to [Sylvie] Brett’s hometown,” showrunner Derek Haas previews. The episode will air the week of Valentine’s Day, “so we’re calling it the Galentine’s trip.” Before that, though, the show will explore Emily’s “attitudes towards dating, which are different than Brett’s, and I don’t mean LGBTQ,” Haas explains. “I mean more of what [Emily, who is bisexual] considers casual versus what Brett considers casual. All of those dynamics are going to be deepened.”

Question: March is far away. I want American Gods scoop now! —Rob Ausiello: Well, because you asked so nicely… Pablo Schrieber says the “antagonist and ally” relationship between Mad Sweeney and Laura Moon will be tested big time by his allegiance to Mr. Wednesday when the Starz drama returns for Season 2. The leprechaun’s destiny “is tied to [Wednesday], no matter what, but it’s also very thoroughly tied to her,” the actor says. “So Sweeney is walking the line, balancing what he owes Wednesday and what he’s realizing he feels in other places.” Hmm. Sounds a lot like we’ll see Laura kissing the Blarney Stone before the season’s over, am I right?

Question: Can you give us any Outlander spoilers? (Especially involving Brianna’s and Jamie’s meeting!?!) This is my first time doing this — hope I’m doing it correctly! —Carolina Ausiello: You did OK. I’ll send you some notes about how to refine your approach in a separate email. Regarding the question at hand, I turn it over to our resident sassenach, Kim Roots, who has seen the scene in question: “I have rather high standards for the huge moments on this show — the wedding night, the print shop reunion, etc. — and I was incredibly satisfied by how the father-daughter plays out in [episode number redacted according to Starz’s spoiler restrictions]. Fans of the book definitely won’t be disappointed.”

Question: Elizabeth and Henry on Madam Secretary are #couplegoals. Please tell me anything you can. —Mary Ausiello: An upcoming episode opens with the McCords taking a tango lesson. And one of them is significantly more skilled than the other.

This AAnd That… ♦ THE BLACKLIST: As teased in the Season 6 trailer, Red will spend some time behind bars after being double-crossed by a close confidant — but don’t count him out just yet. “He’s really been stripped of his superpowers,” series creator Jon Bokenkamp shares. “He’s disconnected from his resources, he may have friends who will fall away and he’s sort of on his heels, which is new for us.” But Bokenkamp assures fans that “if anyone could embrace the solitude of a cell and the experience of incarceration with open arms, it would be Raymond Reddington. We have really high stakes, but we also have some of the most fun we’ve had, as well.” ♦ BROOKLYN NINE-NINE: There will be one major.hilarious change when the sitcom makes the leap from Fox to NBC in January. “We’re allowed to bleep and blur [now],” series co-creator Dan Goor recently told us. “Fox had a no bleeping and no pixelation policy.” Now the gloves are off. “Some filthy, filthy things have been said,” added Terry Crews. “I had one [joke] where I’m ashamed. I’m actually very, very ashamed. It was so jarring that everyone was like, ‘Whoa,’ and we needed to regroup… But holy cow, we never heard language like that on the show.” ♦ CHICAGO PD: Burgess is not the only one who will have a reaction to Upton and Ruzek’s romance. In an upcoming episode, Jay “responds in a way I think you’d expect Halstead to respond,” showrunner Rick Eid teases, “and I think what’s going on in his head is a little different than what he says.” Eid also adds that Jay’s “relationship [with] Upton is interesting and evolving, so don’t sleep on that.” ♦ HOUSEKEEPING NOTE: This is the last AA of ’18 so happy holidays and all that jazz!
