Thanks to j15n for sending this unusual 1969 mid-century modern home in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It has 3bds, 2ba, and is a reasonable $499,900. I like the awning outside.
The frosted window next to the door is a nice idea, unless I don't want to answer the door. I do like the 2 stone planters and stairs up to the living room
This house is pristine. Look at the dramatic stone wall with niches and a fireplace. Love the hearth. The far wall is wood clad and there're beams going across the ceiling and vertically up to ceiling.
The architecture is so unique and It's wonderful that it's been completely preserved. I would decorate this place like crazy.
The dining area is right next to the kitchen. Look at the legs on the cabinets.
The fireplace soars above the kitchen wall. In the kitchen, you see the stone of the fireplace wall, but the walls in here are brick.
The cabinets are so cool and the stove is original.
Look at these architectural features. It's like a stage. This place is screaming for decor. This would be such a cool area for seating, a little office area. Look at the window ahead and all the 3/4 walls.
Could be some kind of fun display up here, too.
What a great space for entertaining. It has a beautiful terrazzo floor and a corner bar but it's just a sink- You can't go behind it, unless there's a hidden door somewhere.
This home is so interesting.
What a cool shower room. That sink! Unfortunately, the toilet was replaced. Too bad they picked one with an elongated seat.
The primary bedroom is quite large and has a big closet.
The other 2 bedrooms are surprisingly large.
The 2nd bath has a big sink cabinet with a vanity. Original beige sinks and tub.
Oh, the rec room in the basement is beautiful. Love the white brick fireplace. This space could look so cool with a retro theme. That plant box needs climbing ivy.
Very nice built-in wall unit and shelving.
Attractive room and the striped ceiling is very cool.
Nice patio and yard with a cute garden and shed.

Upgrading Your Bathroom: Must-Have Features And Additions
Upgrading your bathroom can be one of the most rewarding home improvement projects you undertake. Not only can it increase the value of your home, but it also enhances your daily routine with more comfort, convenience, and style. Whether you're working with a large space or planning an Ottawa Bathroom Renovation for Small Spaces, some several must-have features and additions can elevate your bathroom from ordinary to extraordinary. We specialize in creating bathrooms that are both functional and beautiful, tailored to meet your specific needs. Here are some essential features and additions to consider when upgrading your bathroom.
1. Heated Floors
One of the most luxurious features you can add to your bathroom is heated floors. Stepping onto a warm tile floor on a chilly morning is a small indulgence that makes a big difference. Heated floors are especially beneficial in Ottawa’s colder climate, making your bathroom more comfortable year-round. When working with the best tile flooring Ottawa contractors for homes, like On Point Renovation, you can choose from a variety of tile options that work well with underfloor heating systems.
2. Walk-In Shower
A walk-in shower is a modern, stylish, and practical addition to any bathroom upgrade. With no barriers or doors, walk-in showers are easy to access and can make your bathroom feel more spacious. You can customize your walk-in shower with features like a rainfall showerhead, body jets, or even a built-in bench for added comfort. We design walk-in showers that are tailored to your space and preferences, ensuring a sleek and functional addition to your bathroom.
3. Freestanding Bathtub
For those who love to soak and unwind, a freestanding bathtub is a must-have feature. These bathtubs are available in a variety of styles, from classic clawfoot designs to modern minimalist shapes, making them a stunning centerpiece in any bathroom. Freestanding tubs offer both comfort and aesthetic appeal, providing a luxurious bathing experience that adds a touch of elegance to your space.
4. Double Vanity
A double vanity is an excellent solution for shared bathrooms, providing ample space for two people to get ready simultaneously. It also offers additional storage for toiletries, towels, and other essentials, helping to keep your bathroom organized and clutter-free. When upgrading your bathroom, consider a custom double vanity designed to match your style and storage needs. We specializes in creating custom vanities that enhance both the functionality and appearance of your bathroom.
5. Smart Bathroom Technology
Incorporating smart technology into your bathroom upgrade can make your space more efficient and enjoyable. From smart mirrors with built-in lighting and anti-fog features to programmable showers that remember your preferred water temperature, the possibilities are endless. You can also add voice-activated controls for lights, music, and more, creating a personalized and high-tech bathroom experience. We stay up-to-date with the latest smart bathroom technologies to offer you the most innovative solutions.
6. High-Quality Tile Flooring
The flooring in your bathroom is a crucial element that can make or break the overall design. High-quality tile flooring not only adds to the aesthetic appeal of your bathroom but also offers durability and ease of maintenance. When selecting tile flooring, consider materials that are water-resistant and slip-resistant, especially for a bathroom. On Point Renovation, known as one of the Best Tile Flooring Ottawa Contractors for Homes, can help you choose the perfect tile that complements your design and stands up to the demands of a bathroom environment.
7. Ample Storage Solutions
Effective storage is essential in any bathroom, especially if you’re working with a smaller space. Incorporating built-in cabinets, shelves, and niches into your bathroom upgrade can help you maximize storage while keeping your space organized and clutter-free. Consider adding a medicine cabinet with mirrored doors, floating shelves, or a linen closet to store all your bathroom essentials neatly. We offers customized storage solutions that make the most of your bathroom space, no matter the size.
8. Enhanced Lighting
Good lighting is key to creating a functional and inviting bathroom. Consider adding a combination of task lighting, ambient lighting, and accent lighting to ensure your bathroom is well-lit for all activities. Task lighting around the vanity, like sconces or LED mirrors, is essential for grooming tasks, while ambient lighting from ceiling fixtures creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Accent lighting, such as under-cabinet lights or decorative fixtures, adds a touch of style and sophistication. We can help you design a lighting scheme that highlights your bathroom’s best features.
9. Upgraded Fixtures and Hardware
Sometimes, the smallest details can make the biggest impact. Upgrading your bathroom fixtures and hardware is an easy way to give your bathroom a fresh, modern look. Consider replacing old faucets, showerheads, and cabinet handles with new, stylish options in finishes like brushed nickel, matte black, or polished chrome. These small upgrades can tie together the overall design of your bathroom and give it a cohesive, updated appearance.
10. Luxurious Finishes
Adding luxurious finishes to your bathroom can transform it from a functional space to a personal retreat. Consider using high-end materials like marble, granite, or quartz for countertops and backsplashes. Incorporate elegant touches like a frameless glass shower enclosure, a statement light fixture, or a chic wallpaper accent wall to elevate the design. We specialize in high-end bathroom renovations, ensuring that every detail reflects your taste and enhances your space.
Conclusion
Upgrading your bathroom is a great way to improve the functionality, comfort, and value of your home. By incorporating these must-have features and additions, you can create a space that is not only practical but also a reflection of your personal style. Whether you’re planning an Ottawa bathroom renovation for small spaces or a complete bathroom overhaul, On Point Renovation is here to help you bring your vision to life. Transforming your bathroom into a spa-like oasis is more than just a dream—it’s achievable with the right team of professionals. Here’s how the best bathroom remodelers in San Jose can help you create a spa-inspired sanctuary in your own home.
1. Expert Design Consultation
Creating a spa-like bathroom starts with a well-thought-out design. The best bathroom remodelers in San Jose offer expert design consultations to understand your vision and bring it to life. During this phase, you’ll discuss your preferences, lifestyle needs, and desired features, from deep soaking tubs to rain showers and heated floors.
These professionals will guide you through the design process, offering suggestions on layout, materials, and finishes that enhance the spa-like feel. Whether you prefer a minimalist, modern design or a more traditional, cozy atmosphere, they’ll tailor the design to reflect your personal style.
2. Luxurious Materials and Finishes
A spa-like bathroom is all about luxury, and that starts with the materials and finishes you choose. Top remodelers in San Jose have access to high-quality materials that elevate the look and feel of your bathroom. Think natural stone countertops, elegant marble or porcelain tiles, and rich wood cabinetry.
Incorporating elements like a sleek glass shower enclosure, a freestanding tub, or a custom vanity can add to the spa-like ambiance. The right finishes—such as brushed nickel or matte black fixtures—can enhance the overall aesthetic, creating a cohesive and sophisticated look.
3. Focus on Lighting and Ambiance
Lighting plays a crucial role in creating a relaxing spa-like atmosphere. The best bathroom remodelers understand the importance of both natural and artificial lighting in setting the mood. They’ll help you design a lighting plan that includes soft, ambient lighting for relaxation, task lighting for functionality, and accent lighting to highlight key features.
Consider adding dimmable lights, wall sconces, or even a chandelier for a touch of elegance. Natural light can also be maximized by incorporating larger windows or skylights, bringing a sense of openness and tranquility to the space.
4. Incorporating Spa-Like Features
To truly capture the essence of a spa, you’ll want to include features that promote relaxation and comfort. The best bathroom remodelers in San Jose can help you select and install spa-like amenities that turn your bathroom into a retreat. Some popular options include:
Rainfall Showerheads: Enjoy a gentle, soothing shower experience that mimics the feel of warm rain.
Steam Showers: Create your own steam room for a spa-like treatment that relaxes muscles and clears the mind.
Soaking Tubs: A deep, freestanding tub is perfect for long, relaxing baths.
Heated Floors: Radiant floor heating adds a touch of luxury and keeps your feet warm on chilly mornings.
Aromatherapy: Integrate essential oil diffusers or steam infusers into your shower for a sensory experience that soothes the soul.
These features not only enhance your daily routine but also add value to your home.
5. Attention to Detail
Creating a spa-like bathroom is all about the details. The best bathroom remodelers in San Jose understand this and pay close attention to every aspect of the remodel. From the alignment of tiles to the placement of fixtures, they ensure that every element is perfectly executed.
They’ll also consider small touches that make a big difference, such as built-in niches for storing bath products, soft-close drawers and cabinets, and high-quality mirrors and hardware. These details contribute to the overall experience, making your bathroom feel like a luxurious escape.
6. Creating a Calming Color Palette
Color plays a significant role in setting the tone of your bathroom. For a spa-like experience, consider a calming color palette that includes soft neutrals, cool blues, serene greens, or warm earth tones. These colors create a peaceful environment that promotes relaxation.
The best bathroom remodelers will help you choose colors that not only reflect your personal taste but also enhance the spa-like feel of the space. They’ll also suggest complementary textures and materials, such as natural stone, wood, and glass, to create a harmonious and soothing atmosphere.
7. Efficient Project Management
Transforming your bathroom into a spa-like retreat requires careful planning and coordination. The best remodelers in San Jose offer efficient project management to ensure that the remodel is completed on time and within budget. They handle all aspects of the project, from securing permits and sourcing materials to coordinating with subcontractors and overseeing installation.
This level of professionalism ensures that your bathroom remodel is a smooth, stress-free experience, allowing you to enjoy your new space sooner.
8. Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Options
For homeowners who value sustainability, top bathroom remodelers can incorporate eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient fixtures into the design. Options like water-saving faucets and showerheads, low-flow toilets, and energy-efficient lighting not only reduce your environmental impact but also lower utility costs.
Choosing sustainable materials such as bamboo, recycled glass, or reclaimed wood adds to the eco-conscious appeal of your bathroom while maintaining a high level of luxury.
Conclusion
A spa-like bathroom is more than just a luxury—it’s an investment in your well-being and the value of your home. By working with the best bathroom remodelers in San Jose, you can create a serene, luxurious retreat that offers a daily escape from the stresses of life. 1. Space Planning and Layout
Before diving into the aesthetic aspects, it's crucial to consider the space planning and layout of your Quality Bathroom Tapware. Assess the available area and determine the best configuration for your needs. Consider factors such as the placement of fixtures, storage options, and traffic flow. Aim for a layout that maximizes functionality while maintaining a sense of openness and ease of movement.
2. Choosing the Right Fixtures and Materials
Selecting the right fixtures and materials is essential for creating a visually appealing and functional bathroom. Choose fixtures that match your desired style, such as modern, traditional, or minimalist. Pay attention to the finish and color of fixtures, ensuring they harmonize with the overall design aesthetic.
3. Lighting and Ambiance
Proper lighting is crucial in the bathroom, as it sets the mood and enhances functionality. Incorporate a combination of task lighting for grooming activities, ambient lighting for overall illumination, and accent lighting to highlight architectural features or decor. Consider the use of dimmers to create a relaxing atmosphere during baths or nighttime routines. Natural light is also highly desirable, so maximize window space or add skylights if possible.
