there's too many mountain goats songs
#look they're my favourite band#but i make it my personal mission to learn to sing every mountain goats song i listen to#and i'm up to 85 now which is. a lot#and whenever i listen to a new s#a new song#yt recommends me a bunch of other mountain goats tracks that i've never seen before in my life#it never ends#i say learn to sing i mostly mean lyrics i can't maintain heights + energy like john darnielle without it getting uncomfortable#but i love mountain goats lyrics more than anything#yes i even 'learned' move (chicago 196X). with such compelling poetry as:#'if you leave. you're gonna get athletes foot. athletes foot. when you leave'#i do better singen em from memory without hearing the vocals cause i remember the notes i just can't consistently match range lol rip#anyway. did a uquiz full of mountain goats lyrics and didn't recognize 75% of the tracks sadge.

The Israelites often sang as part of their daily worship. They had Levites whose sole responsibility was to lead the worship in song, morning, and evening. This was a daily rehersal of what God had done for them, a constant reminder that he was active in his love towards them.
When we consider the wondrous things God has done for us, a fresh new song ought to spring forth from our lips. Our relationship with our God should be as fresh as the new mercies he extends to us each day. Our praise today should not be the same as it was yesterday or two weeks ago or years ago!
O sing unto the Lord a NEW song. Do not let your praise get stale!
