The visuals of Start Again the Lament, Taryn Simon, 2024. Art installation in Cisternerne, a former water resevoir beneath Copenhagen, Denmark, now owned by Frederiksbergmuseerne. I say visuals, because the exhibition primarily lies in extensive recordings exploring how we deal with grief both as individuals and collectively, featuring laments sung, cried or screamed from unseen loudspeakers, echoing through the acoustics of the cold, dark space.

The cisterns themselves hold about 10 centimeters of still water across 3 main chambers, just above which, metal walkways have been installed. The walkways have no railings, but are lit by a single line of light in the center, which visitors have to follow to avoid stepping into the water.

Light clarifications; The fae is not the one choosing the bones. The bone is taken at random. Each bone, no matter the size or importance, is worth a full million dollars. You must also declare the exact number first, you can't go bone-by-bone. You either say 2 or you say 10, you can't work your way up to a higher number. The bones are removed instantaneously, and the money is given immediately as well. You will not get in government trouble for acquiring the money.

The greatest injustice ever faced is that I almost certainly started the still thriving "clown husbandry" tag on here, but any discussion about it (from a know your meme page to a youtube video with 500k views) says it's a joke of "unknown origin" or credited to this post, likely bouncing off of mine (which was actively circulating at the time with like 30k notes):
