Hi hey hello, new follow here!! I just finished Body of Mine, and I’M STILL CHORTLING!!! This piece was SO charming and unique. You have a very YOU style of writing that has your signature that I very much enjoyed. First of all, I thought the roommates, magic, and shifter aus blended very well to create a unique and memorable world. Second of all, “lucky for you, Yoongi had the arm span of a toddler.” HAHAHA I’M HOWLING. You had me cackling throughout the entire piece, making BOM so enjoyable.
[cont.] “I don’t want that vermin to gain the ability to speak. I can just tell no one is going to enjoy what he has to say.” “Whoa… I didn’t know yoongi has a fucking eject button.” HAHAHA she is hilarious and the way she handles him as she tries to find his “eject button” and he gives her the wide-eyed look with his mouth agape… I can’t stop seeing the shook hamster meme HAHAHA and I loved the scene with his first transformation. The “poof” and pink smoke, how fitting haha “He was incredibly wide; it
[cont.] almost made no sense that he was a hamster just a few seconds ago. What did he do, bench press sunflower seeds all day?” and “C’mon, human! Bring me your finest garments because my handsomely sculpted testicles are starting to shrivel up from the cold.” HAHAHA THE WAY YOU HAVE ME ROLLLING THOOOO!!! The humor in the fic just keeeeeps comin, “… prompting you to grad the small rodent and squeeze him like a squeaky to. (And what do you know – he even squeaks like one too!) OMGGG poor Jin HAHAHA but
[cont.] when he realizes she’s forgotten his birthday, I could feel how disappointed and hurt he was :( and the way she tries so hard to make it up to him has me endeared. You can tell she cares a lot for him, even tho he’s a rodenty brat. The scene where they’re sitting on his bed going over the rules for the 10 wishes was one of my faves. The fact that she already knows he’s going to ask for world domination and uh… bodily enlargement really alludes to just how well she understands him. Also, that
[cont.] piece of dialogue is really fucking funny HAHAH “Seokjin looks down at his crotch dejectedly.” Is he trying to tear a woman apart or something?!?! And when he makes his first wish- I about died laughing. So unexpected, but also, makes so much sense. “That little bunny bitch! Thinks he’s hot shit… I want him to finally get a taste of his own medicine! HAHAH ok, I think I’m on my third point rn, but it’s about Seokjin’s characterization. He’s SO chaotic, SO jin-esque with a dash of narcissism. You
[cont.] You killed it with his personality in this fic, bravo!! Like I know he’s the sweetest, most caring man, but will act like a him-bo to put a smile on your face and I love it! “My balls are where the ladies get their babies” HAHAH I’M CRYING WHY IS HE LIKE THIS “pink is for happiness, right?” ohhhhh boy things are about to get iiiiiiiiinteresting. And I HAVE TO ASK but… what happened that one time she penetrated his asshole with her finger?!? Lastly, that smut scene tho…. PHEW with or without that
[cont.] horny juice, I feel like seokjin would’ve delivered!!! I appreciated how attentive he was towards her pleasure, eating her out (re: appetizer HAHA) and making sure he wasn’t hurting her upon penetration. Overall, you had me laughing throughout this entire piece until the smut and then I was horny laughing. Last thing I gotta ask, but since jin’s a hamster shifter… how’s that libido tho ;) hope you are well, thank you for sharing them with us!! Pls accept all my love!! ps interesting that his
[cont.] that his transformation scent is caramel and mint.... given he has such a disdain for mint choc chip ice cream HAHAHA
WOOOOOW THIS IS SUCH A SWEET MESSAGE?? HOLY HELL THIS REALLY PUT SUCH A BIG SMILE ON MY FACE AHHHH YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH YOUR COMMENTS MEAN TO ME 😭
im so happy that i was able to make you laugh a lot with this fic!! that was pretty much my biggest goal when i was writing this (i’m not a very good smut writer, so i thought that if i could focus more on the humor aspect of the fic, i could make up for what i was lacking in HAHAHA)
thank you also for saying that i nailed his personality 😭 i love writing jin so much, mostly because i can have so much fun making him this chaotic and over-the-top character and it makes me laugh just thinking of him doing/saying these things that i write... you’re SO RIGHT THO about him acting like a himbo just to make you smile... honestly, in this fic, he was mostly just acting stupid bc he knows it makes the oc smile... deep inside, he’s an incredibly sweet and caring person (oc even mentions that he takes care of her whenever she’s feeling stressed) which just makes him even more lovable?? idk i just love him so much you have NO idea...
and thank you for horny laughing at the smut HAJSDHAJS I REALLY TRIED MY BEST AND I HOPE IT WAS GOOD ENOUGH WAHHHH SERIOUSLY THO THIS ASK GAVE ME SO MUCH LIFE THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY DAY/WEEK/MONTH/YEAR!! I LOVE YOU
((and yes, as a hamster shifter... he’s got a sex drive like NO ONE’S business... idk how he survived months living with the oc without jumping her... just shows how much of a gentleman he actually is *sob* and yes i made his transformation scent caramel bc he’s sweet but mint bc... idk i always associate mint with old people?? HASJDHASJSAKJD NOT SAYING HES OLD BUT he do be acting like a cranky grandpa sometimes... i love that part of him tho LMAO but then again i also hate mint choco chip so... hmm... idk my brain works in mysterious ways HAHAHAH))

I'm ftm (pre everything) and am in choir but I also want to sing and maybe pursue it later but if I go on hormones then I'm afraid I won’t be able to. Advice?
Lee says:
I like singing, how will T affect my voice?
We can’t tell you what will happen to your voice- people tend to be able to sing well (once their voice is done changing!) if they could sing well before, but there are instances of people losing their singing voices.
We’ve anecdotally heard of some people on T being able to keep their high notes, but it’s much more likely that you lose your high notes as your vocal cords thicken.
T will most likely deepen your voice so your range will change, but as long as you continue to practice and don’t overwork your voice into notes you cannot reach anymore your singing voice probably will be okay- different, but okay.
But we can’t guarantee this, and it’s your decision whether testosterone and passing/being comfortable in your body are worth the risks of losing your singing voice for you.

this was my biggest Thing when i was deciding to pursue hrt. ive been in various choirs for years, and its a very Important part of my life. but also my voice was my #1 source of dysphoria, and the #1 thing i needed to change. i searched for weeks to find anything about what to expect from hrt as a singer, esp bc ive heard stories of trans ppl losing their siging voice entirely. i was terrified, and couldnt find resources to shed any significant light on the topic.
and so, in no particular order bc im half asleep, here are some things to expect and things that i’ve experienced so far (almost six months on hrt):
- practice while your voice is dropping! feel it out every step of the way. get to know your voice while it’s changing, and try to maintain those high notes. i didnt do a v good job of this and my high range kinda just shriveled up. i cant be sure that it wouldve been hugely different if id practiced more, but ive heard it does help
- yoir voice will feel different. unfamiliar at times. you wont be using it the same way youre used to. technique will change, placement will change
- my speaking voice shifted downward after just a month or two (i had mild hyperandrogynism before, so this wont be as quick for everyone), before my singing voice did. i didn’t start getting new low range until later, but within my pre-t vocal range, my voice just sat a bit lower than it used to. my low alto filled out more. than i started getting new notes, slowly
- there will be periods of time where it cracks or breaks or is unreliable. dont push it, but dont despair either. keep practicing as well as you can
- my voice is somewhat fragile. if i yell (which i can only somewhat do currently) or push it or force it thru cracks/breaks/weak spots, it will get tired easily and take quite a while to recover. be nice to your voice. dont push high notes if they cause strain. dont push the low notes either, even tho im sure youre excited about them
- your voice will be weak while it’s shifting. this can cause frustration and anxiety. i’m two months into my choir season singing w two and a half choirs, and i’m dealing w lots of Complicated Feelings bc my voice just cant do all the things i want it to. i cant project much, and i certainly dont have the strength (yet) to audition for any of the solos i’d like to. Patience
- the Weird Spots and the Weak Spots will continue to shift around. i have this one area in the middle of my range (currently its about Ab3-B3, but a few weeks ago it was B3-C4) where its weird and weak and its kind of like a break in register but also a bit like a black hole, bc i Cannot Project there and theres no good placement for singing those notes, and notes in the vicinity of those are also Weird but Less So. it’s slowly sliding downwards, and i am learning to navigate it better. i’m hoping it will settle and go away soon, but we’ll see
- breath support is v important. as mentioned, your voice may be quite fragile, and putting strain on it could cause it to glitch out on you for a while. supporting your voice w lots of breath will put less demand on your vocal chords
- NEVER SING IN A BINDER or compressive garment. you need those lungs!
- you’re going to miss out on some of the nostalgic singalongs of old choir songs, bc you no longer have the range to sing your old parts. this is possibly the #1 consequence of transitioning that im the most sad about lol
- i have a very weird quality to my high range rn. it seems to be caught midway between the head voice it used to be and future falsetto or whatever it’s moving toward. for now its just Strange to listen to
the current state of my voice is this:
low range is down to almost the bottom of the bass clef. i can sing down to Bb2, A2 on a good day.
from there up to F3ish is quite comfy and possibly the strongest part of my singing voice, but i do find that if i spend too much time down there it can strain the rest of my range (i used to have this problem before too: if i sang in my low alto range too much or too enthusiastically, my sop range would get tired).
from G3-C4, it’s Awkward. the Awkwardness shifts around, and some parts of it can be more comfy than others sometimes, but it’s all v inconsistent. i cant project much here, and placement is veryvery Weird.
D4-F4ish is typically comfy but has a bit of that Strange quality to it. these notes are a bit floaty, but not bad.
G4-B4 are unreliable. somedays i can get up there. some days it’ll blink out or crack or break or just Not Be There. i am predicting that once my high range settles into a proper falsetto, i’ll be able to work on this range more and it’ll have less of that Strange quality to it, but only time will tell
again, apologies for being Scattered, it’s 1am and ive had a long day. any of yall are welcome to message me for more details ☺
there is a lot of weirdness and weakness and Awkward in the transition period. but while i’m frustrated at times, i’m not worried. everything i’m dealing w is temporary. now i can’t be 100% sure how my voice will settle or when, but i’m not afraid i’ve lost it forever. as far as i’ve heard, the stories of trans ppl who lose their singing voice on t are very rare cases. youre going to go through weeks or months where singing is Weird in constantly shifting ways, but itll keep on moving and developing, and personally i’m so excited to see where it goes.
i’m currently singing tenor2 in my choirs, and occasionally i get to take a trip down and sing baritone. im not even 6months in! that has transformed my choir experience to be even better than before, even w all the awkwardness. it was so weird and beginning to get verg uncomfy to be in a place like choir, which is so important to me, which i love dearly, which has had a significant impact on my life, but which revolved around the use of my one most dysphoric feature. but now i don’t have to worry about that. now i can sing the parts i’ve been wanting to sing for years.
i do occasionally miss some of my old voice. i miss soaring soprano lines, i miss all the old alto parts in songs i used to know. i miss the confidence and strength of a familiar, complete voice. and im allowed to miss those, i dont feel bad about having that longing or sadness, bc i have zero regrets. i also occasionally miss playing with and styling my super long hair, but in five years i have not once regretted cutting it all off. i own those memories and that nostalgia, but i keep moving forward to new and better things
pinesboi said: If you keep working at your voice and take lessons to make sure you never let it get out of practice, everything should be okay. I’m on T now about 3-4 months, and I’m still singing high tenor musical theatre

How did you get diagnosed with bpd? Did you suspect it before? How did you deal with it? Did you feel like anything changed after a diagnosis? Do you feel like people treat you differently when they know you have it? How do you deal with all the negativity around the diagnosis? ps: sorry for so many questions
it’s okay. i feel like a smart person would say, come off anon and let’s chat, but u know what, i’ll totally embarrass myself for the common good. oh man.
short answers. click keep reading for the in depth, tmi answers.
How did you get diagnosed with bpd? Did you suspect it before? short answer: self dx followed by psych. yes. kind of.
How did you deal with it?short answer: i feel like i’m still “dealing” with the diagnosis, and my stance on it changes constantly lol, but probably better in the beginning. it didn’t really change a ton for me, bc i felt like it was just a word for what i had already been experiencing. i decided not to tell anyone, so i didn’t feel like things had changed. at the same time i refused to believe it. i have tables and tables of notes in my journals, trying to convince myself in and out of it. i did know that to be healthy, i needed to acknowledge it. i tried.
Did you feel like anything changed after a diagnosis?short answer: it brought some clarity, some understanding and validation, that i think really helped me. sometimes it brought hopelessness, sometimes motivation. i mean, i was still the same person, just with a label. it started me on a road i referred to as resurfacing.
Do you feel like people treat you differently when they know you have it?short answer: depends on the person and how much they care about you as a person.
How do you deal with all the negativity around the diagnosis?short answer: i dont lol
babe i hope this helps a bit and idk. im being honest here, so idk how much comfort is here, but if you find any, good. be safe. lmk if you have other questions! happy to answer.
How did you get diagnosed with bpd? Did you suspect it before? short answer: self dx followed by psych. yes.long answer: i had a slight mental breakdown in uhhhh fall 2015-january 2016, and i work at the library which slows down in the winter. i was going a little nuts with nothing to do one day in late december/early january, so i planted myself in the mental health section and read all the requirements in dsm-iv book for mental disorders. i think i was half curious and half knew something was wrong. i had dealt with depression and anxiety in the past, but i felt mentally dizzy all the time, if that makes sense. just generally unstable and lost and worried. Not Okay. self harming and finding comfort in it. i was totally bleary going through my daily life and i felt extremely unstable in my relationships. i also was trying to work through this whole hallucination/voice in my head thing that sparked it in september(?). so i remember taking these books to the break room and taking these convoluted notes on tiny scraps of paper, trying to make sense of what was happening. i found the notes a couple weeks ago, and it was really weird, but i was so careful about it. i really didn’t want to feel like i had anything, but i was getting desperate. i would copy out the requirements and tally up what i had. i remember contemplating a couple things i knew i could diagnoses with by a doctor who didn’t care, like avoidant pd, but i realized it was definitely not the one, at all. when i read bpd, it took my breath away. i was shocked, bc it was like reading a book about myself. i remember getting goosebumps, and shaking. i spent months researching and researching it, trying to convince myself i didn’t fit the criteria. at the time i was in several psych classes, and one of my professors had us write a 15+ page paper about our own life and psych development. it was hella weird, but i ended up pouring myself into it and my psych prof, who runs his own practice was like “Lol yeah omg” and we chatted a bit and sure enough, i am most likely a bpd bug. i’m not “formally” diagnosed but i have talked to several psychologists at my universities about it and they’re all like “lmao yeeeah” so
How did you deal with it?short answer: i feel like i’m still “dealing” with the diagnosis, and my stance on it changes constantly lol, but probably better in the beginning. it didn’t really change a ton for me, bc i felt like it was just a word for what i had already been experiencing. i decided not to tell anyone, so i didn’t feel like things had changed. at the same time i refused to believe it. i have tables and tables of notes in my journals, trying to convince myself in and out of it. i did know that to be healthy, i needed to acknowledge it. i tried.long answer: idk!? like on one hand i was relieved like “okay so this is a thing with a name, now i can start attacking it. i was really good at mood tracking for about 6 months. no more lol. anyway, i still go through acceptance/denial cycles constantly. just today, i decided to watch youtube videos about it to prove to myself that i didn’t have bpd. my reaction? o shit i guess i have bpd. every couple weeks ill come across an article or video or something about it and they’ll talk about other quirks of bpd and it’s so accurate it’s scary. but kinda cool (like perceptions of time and such that dont really hurt anything, but i thought everyone had. whoops. just my bpd showing again lol) it’s like when i climbed over a wooden fence in colorado and realized i had a sliver in my leg and then when i got it out, i realized i had another sliver in my leg and then when i got it out i realized i had another sliver in m-and so on. it never stops really. maybe it’d help if i told more ppl. idk.
Did you feel like anything changed after a diagnosis?short answer: it brought some clarity, some understanding and validation, that i think really helped me. sometimes it brought hopelessness, sometimes motivation. i mean, i was still the same person, just with a label. it started me on a road i referred to as resurfacing.long answer: i mean, i was still the same person, just with a label. it definitely brought gravity to it. sometimes it made me hopeless (can you even recover from a personality disorder?), but sometimes it brought me hope bc i wasn’t alone and there are coping methods made esp for me. it helped me understand myself and why i did what i did. it helped me be more proactive, and im getting better at it. it helped me accept some of my quirks, and helped me communicate. it’s a constant learning process like battle.
Do you feel like people treat you differently when they know you have it?short answer: depends on the person and how much they care about you as a person.long answer: lmao so like i haven’t told my parents yet, didnt have to since i was over 18. lately my mom is becoming more aware tho i think, and she’s being really supportive. my friends (irl and online, they all know) are really supportive and patient and encouraging and kind. they’re so great. the two ppl i dated since were lovely. about a month after diagnosis, however, i told my boyfriend of the time whose only response was “why didn’t you tell me this before i got emotionally attached to you?” :-) THAT fucked me up, but i still think it’s fair. lately im super worried about it though.
How do you deal with all the negativity around the diagnosis?short answer: i dont lollong answer: so i had never heard of it before 2016 sooo i actually don’t really know about the stigmas even now? i try really hard not to hear about any of it, bc if i do, im going to shrivel and not have the confidence to be open about it, which really helps me and my relationships. being open about it is what destroys the stigma. at the same time, im totally terrified of telling my family for some reason. my mom used to say anxiety was a hat i put on, bc she was a nurse in the mental ward, so her view of mental illness is basically of non to low functioning people. she;s a lot more supportive and validating of it now but idk i cant.OKAY ALSO negativity with recovery high key sucks. for a solid year i was convinced that there’s no recovery and i’ll probably kill myself before im 27, im so screwed blah blah blah, but then i FINALLY starting finding resources that consistently said 50% of adults find themselves recovered after ten years. im also really working hard on self care and coping rn. making good choices for myself to hopefully stay as healthy and happy as possible.
lmk if you have other questions!
