#a lot of stuff happened this Harvestfest

We've hit Fall Thursday in the Chill Valicer Save today, and you know what that means -- Harvestfest! And they had a FREAKING BUSY Harvestfest, let me tell you -- if I counted correctly, this update has NINETY PICTURES in total. Yeah, uh, it's actually a pretty good thing that we can upload more than ten to a post now, isn't it? O.O

Anyway! Morning started off pretty tamely and typically -- Smiler, freshly retraited after the end of the last episode, took Shadow out on a nice walk, while Alice went upstairs to gather inspiration from their fish and then start a new book (a motivational book called "Solving Your Problems With Trains" ;) ) and Victor woke from sleep and got right on studying his Nimble Mind and Emotional Stability potion tomes. I do think it's very cool how higher-level spellcasters have the books float in front of them like that. . . Anyway, Victor discovered three things from all that reading -- the recipe for the Nimble Mind potion (requires parsley and a spotted dirt frog -- figured even if Smiler didn't have that in their collection, they could breed it eventually); the recipe for the Emotional Stability potion (requires a potato and obtanium -- again, even if Alice didn't have that in her metal collection, she could dig it up eventually); and --

The fact that the fossil display shelves made by @somecreativecc ALSO FUNCTION AS A BOOKCASE. O.o Uh, SomeCreative, was -- was that intentional? I'm not COMPLAINING, I just find it a touch bizarre? *shakehead* So, yeah, Victor's tomes went in there with the fossils once he was done with them and gotten his magical "free samples." *shrug* Like I said, not complaining, just -- slightly confused.

Now -- while all this was going on, I was also checking both Shadow and Kelly for signs of illness, because, as you may remember last time, I found a couple of random puddles of sick around the place and wasn't sure which pet was producing them. Shadow seemed fine on her walk, and when I looked around the house again, I found another puddle of sick by one of Kelly's scratching posts. This really seemed to indicate that it was poor Kelly who wasn't feeling well --

A hypothesis confirmed when she came over to hang out with Alice near her desk while she wrote, and another puddle of sick appeared right next to her. I had Victor use Scruberoo to clean up all the sick, then go pamper Kelly with a little brushing as I tried to determine what was wrong. I mean, after all, the cat didn't LOOK ill -- Sim illnesses in both pets and people tend to be pretty visible! The only other explanation I could think of was poor Kelly had hairballs, which -- would be very impressive on a hairless cat like herself! I made a note to get her to the vet later, and she eventually ran off to do more cat things. Leaving more sick behind her. *sigh*

With THAT mystery solved, and Victor's potions learned, I decided it was time for him to get back on fabricating stuff -- namely because I wanted to do some more eco upgrades around the house. So he headed down to the barn, where -- after Repairioing all the broken wind turbines and water collectors, and setting out some sacred candles to help with his still-broken "Fear Of The Dark" moodlet and the scary noises around the house -- he proceeded to make another eco upgrade part. (Really wish I could made those in BULK, but what are you gonna do.) I then sent him to the garden to do the usual tending -- weeding, watering, fertilizing -- as Alice continued working on her book (maxing out the Writing skill in the process! Go Alice!) and Smiler came back from their walk with Shadow. The doggo went to hang with Victor in the greenhouse as he started harvesting, while Smiler entertained Kelly and Alice finished up her book, submitted it to the literary digest (because obviously this guide on Bumby murder deserves it), then went to clean the chicken coop and entertain the cowplant -- which, since we seem to be keeping it for the time being, I decided to name "Toothy." I mean, if the large drooling maw full of sharp teeth fits...

New Goth: Chapter 4, Part 3

Sleepover to break in Milton's new rooms then Harvestfest begins

The waiter comes along and places their order down. Just one problem, the dishes have been swapped around.

James: Excuse me I-

But the waiter has already left

Alexander: Guess I get the taco then

James: *pouts* Joey would probably say it was some kind of glitch

Alexander: *laughs* like a… between sessions glitch

James: There’s a lot of steam coming off this, I hope I won’t get burnt

Alexander: it’s probably decorative smoke, I don’t think they could serve something that would burn people. It would be a lawsuit waiting to happen

James: Well it tastes nice

Alexander: Now about Milton, you’re not really thinking about sleeping on the floor are you

James: If it’s what will help him feel comfortable in his new room, I will do it. He deserves to feel safe

Alexander: I just worry you’ll get sore

James: Weren’t you just saying how young I was

Alexander: Yes but that was-

James: We’re doing the sleepover. Then, with some luck, we can have our bedroom back to ourselves and the cats. Not that I’ve minded woohoo in other places but I do miss some stuff we can only do on the bed

Alexander: *laughs* I see your point, okay, sleepover it is

Alexander searches for the sleeping bags to carry up to Milton’s new rooms while James helps Milton move all of his clothes in, as well as his old toys from the Goth house. Finally we are ready to sleep but, better take a quick photo first! Can’t believe I didn’t have a proper one with these three.

5am...

Hamlet: *meows loudly* I really must protest at this locked door! I should be able to roam anywhere

Milton: *sleepily* Hamlet? Sorry buddy, your dads just don’t want you getting stuck in here

Hamlet: *meows* I haven’t seen them for hours though. HOURS

Milton: You really shouldn’t just wake sims up, especially on the weekends. It’s Harvestfest today, how am I supposed to stay awake

Hamlet seems undeterred from meowing so Milton decides to give him a pet and a play to satisfy him for a while.

At a more reasonable hour the sun rises and Harvestfest begins. First mission is to find the three gnomes (which I just have to say was near impossible in this mansion) and appease them for the day. Then while the humans don’t get special outfits, the cats become honorary tacos for the next while in celebration of the day.

Alexander: Your cat is knocking out the trash again

James: Our cat

Hamlet: *meows* Ew mum, that’s gross

Gertrude: *meows* You should try it, so much to explore

Hamlet: *meows* I’m fine here

Milton: Do you have to make such a mess Gertrude? I’ll probably have to clean it up

James: We have to do cleaning before our guests get here anyway

Alexander: I’m on cooking, think you can set the table Milton

Milton: Sure. Guess what? No nightmares last night

James: That's wonderful

The Chopra’s have arrived! Toddler Viola, child twins Savannah and Mercedes (your reminder that Savannah is in pink with hair clips, Mercedes is in blue with no hair clips), as well as their parents Rahul and Cassandra. First to get Viola in the high chair, then get some hugs out of the way. Milton and Savannah autonomously hugged despite having a low relationship which was adorable.

Alexander: You look… nice

Cassandra: *laughs* Yes Mr subtle, I am absolutely pregnant again

Alexander: Thought so. Congratulations to all of you

While Viola babbles incoherently to Milton he smiles and nods. Down the table the rest of the family is getting stuck into the ham Alexander cooked.

Alexander: Okay Viola, here’s your plate

Viola: Mama?

Cassandra: It’s your food, eat up green bean

Viola looks at the food questioningly but once she pats it she realises what it is and happily flings it about while eating the odd bit here and there.

Cassandra: Do you know how long the adoption process will take

James: I imagine since we’re not wanting an infant it shouldn’t be too long

Rahul: The sooner the better with kids

Mercedes: What is… a dog shone (adoption)?

Cassandra: You know how you and your sisters came from inside me, well your uncle Alexander and uncle James are going to get a kid that came from inside someone else

Milton: So... I’m getting another sibling or a cousin?

James: Not exactly. They would still be a niece or nephew technically

Alexander: But that doesn’t mean you can’t include them like a sibling or a cousin

Hamlet: *meows* Ham for Hamlet? Someone is too kind

Rahul: Your cat is trying to eat the food

James: Hamlet, no!

Alexander: I’ll just put the leftovers it in the fridge where he can't reach them, give me a second

Cassandra: Do you want a boy or girl?

Alexander: I’d settle for one who doesn’t judge me and James, gender doesn't matter

James: They won’t judge you love, don’t worry. I’ll have a proper talk with the social worker

Savannah: So… we’re going to get a cousin finally?

Rahul: Yes you are

Milton: You know I'm sitting right here Savannah

Savannah: *scoffs* You make a deal about being our uncle all the time *pulls face*

Milton: Oh yeah, good point

Mercedes: If you wanted to stop making a show about it, that would be great

Whimsy Legacy Expanded - Gen 1 random update (1)

a while back I posted a random picture with my me-sim in the corner, announcing that I'd try to play a legacy challenge - and I indeed started it! and against all expectations I made it past one year!!

me-sim, your hopes seem to be not misplaced yet :D

originally I wanted to do one big info post at the end of gen1 but tbh I play in short sprints with long pauses so decided to go about it a little different. still gonna make the big summary post by the end, but also gonna make random update posts ranging from very smol to slightly longer, depending on when things happen ingame. some of them will have fancy graphics, some won't, we will just have to trust the process. the only thing that's sure is that I'll tag them #Tem plays Whimsy.

anyways, this is the first update, so let's jump right in :3

started out with a pee bush, a tent, and Rosalie Salisbury - then she only had a few walls, some scavenged/fabricated furniture and dumpster appliances, like this:

I think I only ever bought her the counters, the fridge, the candle table and the fabricator, the rest is pretty much self-made or fished from trash :D (well yes also bought the meditation cushion and the tarp, that's Ravasheen's cool stuff, just for decor)

but we quickly got together a lot of money and built a proper micro home, Rosalie had some insane luck with dumpster diving :D like finding, fixing and selling a research machine, those are expensive lol)

i imagine that she will repaint/expand the house as she grows older, but in the beginning this was perfect, a place to call home :3

also the boyfriend sighting - yes Rosalie met Knox around one of the dumpsters and they had amazing compatibility, so yea, love blossomed! idk why but for a while Rosalie had the whim to break up with him and then like a day later she wanted to marry him, and seemingly nothing changed, so don't know what that was about... but it was engagement and wedding time! they got engaged during Harvestfest and invited friends and family over to announce it, then got married next spring, thus marking me sticking to this playthrough for a whole (sim) year!

yes I very much love how the gnomes crept around the table while everyone was eating :D wedding was a bit bugged, but otherwise fun (used this very cute venue by Lady Chaos). had Knox's mother Blossom officiate the wedding amd I think Lilith was a flower pal,but never found out what that did... also poor Lilith almost burned, but it was aight, she is a big girl capable of taking care of herself XD but I guess that's the price of being besties with a vampire...

Sul Sul Simmers! How was all that? It feels like a lot happened to me. What a year. It feels like a big shift is coming now that Grace and Lucy are teenagers, but below the cut I wanted to throw down some things I had written, that didn't really seem to fit anywhere in the queue. I figured it'd be good to get them out now so I'm not carrying them with me through the next arcs for this family.

Sweeney Todd, the master vampire, was slain by a hunter. In this altercation, she killed the hunter as well. That hunter was none other than Thorne Bailey, Vulcan and Hermes' paternal grandfather.

Knox Greenburg, Fatima and Venus Witherspoon all died in a tragic plane crash and I didn't want to write about it because Vulcan has been through so much tragedy I didn't have it in me to go into more detail on it.

Breaking up with Bella was rushed in because Vulcan literally did it in game on a whim. Like rolled into Creekside Smooth at 2am for guys night and just decides he wants to dump her. He just really, really wanted to be single. Uncertain if she'll get picked back up or not. Canonically she is an alien but because she wasn't raised on Sixam she doesn't know how to use any of her special abilities.

Mabel writing in her journal and reminding herself that she'll be a vampire by the end of the year. The early breakup changes nothing. The day after Harvestfest, the 13th year will befall Vesper and Fortune and their fate will be decided.

Brandy loves dancing. Tempted to make her a vampire hunter like her father, Thorne.

Vulcan is still brutally famous but his reputation is going down due to all the relationship drama.

Venus Generation Requirements (teen) New Trait- Romantic Aspiration- Serial Romantic [ ] Keep a retail job for 3 days. [ ] Have 2 romantic flings.

Fortune and Vesper count for this generation until they don't count.

Brandy is not part of this generation and will get a random trait when she ages up. May do a poll and let the readers choose her trait and aspiration.

Isla, the mermaid from Vulcan's summer in Sulani, has gotten into the gardening career and has flower arranger vibes. It's yet to be determined if that relationship will be revisited during Vulcan and the twins' week on the islands.

Also Mer-teens have been added in Sulani. A lot coming up.

I hope that was a good throw on stuff that I take random creative notes on while I'm playing the game that creates the stories you read. I really do appreciate it so much when I see the same handful of blogs liking multiple posts, and knowing that you're reading and loving this little nebula as much as I do means so much.

I might experiment a bit moving forward because this is my first time really rotating through multiple teenagers and getting through high school (though I got some practice with my vampire teens) I'm open to exploring other story telling devices.

And always, a special thanks to the CC creators and pose creators that allow me to tell the stories I do. I regret not exploring poses with Marisol because she absolutely deserved to be in some fun day time television interviews. Thank you creatives for doing what you do.

Onto the next season. A week in Sulani with Vulcan, Grace and Lucy where they'll explore ancestry, culture, celebration and the first crushes of teenagers on mythical creatures, all wrapping up and getting back home to Willow Creek just in time for PRIDE. The following Monday, Lucy and Grace start high school.

Journal Entry #9 (part one)

Victor

You guys, I’m so happy right now! I don’t even know where to start!

First off, I’m still on Sulani. Yuri said it was okay for me to keep my original flight and stay as long as I’d planned to. At first I didn’t want to, because I missed him so badly and because I was still shaken up from what happened with the boat, but then I started thinking about all the cool stuff I hadn’t seen and done yet.

I’m going home today. My flight is just before noon, and I’ll be sleeping in my own bed tonight. I can hardly wait to see Yuri, but I’m glad I decided to stay here for the full fourteen days after all. It's been awesome, and I'm never going to forget this experience, especially the new friends I've made here. Alana, Mitchell and Kalani have all been great, and I hope we'll be able to see each other again in the future.

But, I'll tell you more about the rest of my trip later, because I have news.

The other reason why I'm so happy is because I've got something wonderful to look forward to when I get home. You'll never guess what it is!

Yuri told me that my mom is coming to visit us! Apparently, she invited herself, which is a totally Mom thing to do, and it sounds like Yuri's fine with it, so I'm excited. I haven't seen my mom in person since I moved to Mt. Komorebi nearly eighteen months ago, and I miss her like crazy. We video chat a lot, and we call and text, but it's not the same. The first thing I'm going to do when I see her is give her the most epic hug of all time.

It's going to be so much fun, showing her all around Mt. Komorebi, and introducing her to our friends, and it goes without saying that we'll spend lots of time on the mountain. Mom loves snowboarding almost as much as I do. I've been dying to try the climbing course the mountain recreation organization offers, too. I'm scared to ask Yuri to do that with me, in case he gets hurt, but I'll bet Mom will go for it. She's adventurous like me, and she’s got the strength and the stamina to climb, if anyone I know does. I think we'll probably go to the hot spring, and there'll likely be a festival for Harvestfest, and... ahh! Honestly, I'm just super thrilled to have the two people I love most in the whole world with me at the same time.

Oh! Also, this might not be as interesting to you, but I'm looking forward to cooking for my mom and showing her how much I've improved. I know how to do my own laundry now as well. Yuri said he wasn't going to do it for me because it's an important adult skill that everyone needs to have, and he taught me to do it. When I lived in Willow Creek, I usually just took my laundry to Mom's house, even though I was living in my own flat. But, it's like I've been growing up a lot during this past year and a half, and I think Mom's going to be really proud of me.

This is my mom, by the way. Her name’s Grace. Dr. Victoria Grace Nelson, but she’s always gone by Grace. She said I would’ve been named Victoria, after her, if I’d been born a girl, but obviously I'm a boy and so I ended up being Victor instead. Anyway, my mom is just Mom to me. She's smart and pretty and amazing at sports, and I love her so much.

Okay... I know you want to hear more about my trip. There'll be lots of time when my mom is visiting for me to tell you all about her, so let me get back to Sulani for a minute.

Just like he promised, Mitchell introduced me to his friend Kalani, and Kalani's older brother Kai, who also happens to be Mitchell's housemate.

Kai is twenty-six, only a year older than me, but he acts a lot older than that. He's so serious, and doesn't seem like he'd be very fun to hang out with.

Kalani, on the other hand, definitely knows how to enjoy himself, and we hit it off right away. Kalani is twenty-two, and he's still kind of in that stage of life where its hard to decide whether you'd rather be an adult or stay a kid forever. He's great, though. He's hilarious and he loves to laugh and joke, and he knows everything about the island.

Mitchell and Kalani have been showing me around and making sure I don't get lost or hurt. The day after my misadventure with the outrigger, Mitchell suggested that we should do something on land and not too strenuous, so he and Kalani and I went to pick fruit. How cool is that? You've got to love a place where you can find free food just conveniently hanging from a tree or a plant.

The day after that, Mitchell and I went snorkelling together, and although I was nervous at first, it didn't take me long to relax and get into it. I've never seen so many exotic fish in my entire life, and the plants and coral are like something from an alien world. It's stunning, and I'm slightly envious that Mitchell gets to see this stuff every day. While we were in the water, Mitchell stayed close to me and made sure I was okay. Every time we surfaced, he asked me if I was all right, and I appreciated that. It's too bad he's an only child. He'd have made a great big brother for somebody.

Later that day, he took me on his boat, which is bigger than that ridiculous outrigger thing I tried to learn to sail on. I wore a life jacket, which I assumed was Mitchell's because it was too big for me. He tightened the straps as much as he could, though, and he said it'd be fine as long as it was secure enough not to float off me if I were in the water. To test it, he tried to pull it off, and we were both satisfied when he couldn't.

Mitchell's a great sailor, and he handled his boat like he's been doing it practically his whole life. For all I know, maybe he has. We sailed around the island to an area where no one lives, where there's this actual, honest-to-Watcher volcano. Mitchell said it's inactive, but it was kind of smoking at the top, so I don't know.

The water was all green and weird at the foot of the volcano, and Mitchell told me it was like that because of a certain kind of algae that thrives in the environmental conditions created by the volcano. We couldn't sail too close to it, but I wasn't all that disappointed. I was fine with viewing it from a distance.

Another day, when Mitchell was too busy to go with us, Kalani and I went hiking in this kind of jungle-y area with cliffs that drop straight down to the sea. It’s beautiful there, but it’s also kind of terrifying. In hindsight, I’m not sure why i found it scary, though. Hheights don’t usually bother me, and if there’d been snow on it, I’d drop straight over something like that on my snowboard.

Hidden at the base of one of the cliffs, there was this tiny waterfall. Kalani told me it’s one of his favourite spots, and he likes to come here when he’s got something important to think about. I can see why. It’s secluded and peaceful, and certainly nobody would bother him here.

He told me that it’s also a spot for couples, that people like to bring their significant others here for special moments together. I could totally appreciate that as well. I imagined kissing Yuri under the waterfall in the late afternoon sun, and then watching the sunset while cuddling on the beach, wrapped together in a blanket. Maybe some day we’ll get to do that, I thought.

I asked Kalani if there was anyone he wanted to bring here. He looked kind of embarrassed, but he said yes. The problem, he confessed, was that he didn’t think his family would approve of his choice. I empathized with that.

Yuri’s parents aren’t my biggest fans. In fact, I’m pretty sure Yuri’s dad actually despises me. Mr. Okamoto says I’m a ‘corrupting influence’, yet somehow he’s cool with Yuri hanging out with Seiji and Taka. Don’t get me wrong; I like Takahiro and Seiji, and we have a lot of fun together, but Seiji is kind of an idiot. He’s a serial lover, reckless and a little insensitive at times, and I think if anyone’s the real corrupting influence, it’s him. I mean, you wouldn’t catch me drinking till I passed out, or participating in a contest to see who could have the most one night stands in a month, or crushing beer cans on my head. I have class. Well, sort of. As much as a guy can have, growing up on the run-down side of Willow Creek and being raised by a single mom who lets you eat mac and cheese straight from the pot it was cooked in.

But, I'm getting off-topic. Too hyper to focus, I guess.

Yesterday was my last full day here, and I finally got to have a proper look at the shipwreck. Mitchell said he'd come and get me around eleven o'clock, so I hung around my campsite in the morning, reading and playing on my phone a bit and relaxing in the sun.

Around ten-fifteen, I decided that I probably had time for a swim before Mitchell showed up. I'd just stepped into the water when I heard a big splash off to my right.

I looked that way in time to see Mitchell's blond hair breaking the surface. He shook the wet hair off his face the moment his entire head was above water, and then started swimming toward my campsite. As soon as he spotted me, he raised a hand and gave me a quick wave.

"Hey, Victor!" he called out. "I'm a bit early. Hope you don't mind."

"It's cool," I said, as I waded in to meet him. "Did you come here on your boat?"

"Yeah," he said, and gestured vaguely in the direction he'd come from. "It's over there, anchored just around that point. The water's too shallow to bring it all the way in here."

"I'll take your word for that," I said.

"Are you ready to go exploring?"

"Yeah! But, where's Kalani? I thought he was coming with us, too."

"He is," Mitchell said. "He had something to do this morning, but he said he’s going to meet us there."

Kalani never seemed to be around when Mitchell and I did anything that involved water, and I kind of wanted to ask Mitchell about it. Yuri would probably tell me to err on the side of discretion though, which is his polite way of saying I should mind my own business, so I kept my curiosity to myself. I guessed maybe Kalani can't swim or that he's nervous on boats. I can absolutely appreciate boat-related anxiety.

"Are we going to sail there?" I asked.

Mitchell smiled. "So, you feel the pull of the sea after all."

"Actually," I said. "I'd be fine if I never, ever felt the pull of the sea again. I was just wondering, since you came on your boat."

"I prefer my boat, but we can go overland to Admiral's Wreckage. It's a bit of a hike, but the sights are worth it." He held up a small bag which, up to that point, I hadn't even noticed he was carrying. "Dry clothes," he said, and then because I must've looked confused, "Waterproof bag. I'll just change quickly. You should put on something dry too, and then we can get going."

"Okay," I agreed.

He was right. It was quite a hike, but the scenery was worth it.

Kalani was indeed waiting there for us when we arrived. When he saw Mitchell, he kind of flung himself at him and hugged him with what looked like enough strength to squeeze the air out of most people. I know with one hundred percent certainty that I’d injure Yuri if I tried to do something like that to him, but it seemed Mitchell was able to hold up to Kalani's dangerous affection. No one can say Kalani lacks enthusiasm.

"Easy, Kalani," Mitchell said. "Remember what I keep telling you."

"Sorry!" Kalani exclaimed. "But, I missed you."

"You saw me two hours ago."

"That's practically forever!"

Mitchell looked amused. "You have absolutely no sense of time, do you, my wild creature? Come on, now. Either relax or let go."

Kalani must've decided he wasn't quite ready to let go, and he relaxed so thoroughly that I could see all the tension going out of his arms and back. He looked as if he wanted to melt against Mitchell's chest and shoulder. For his part, Mitchell was laughing and trying to hold Kalani up.

"This would be better if we were in the water," Kalani said.

"Later," Mitchell told him.

“Promise?”

“I promise. Now, I need you to behave like a grown up for a while, okay? Think you can do that?”

The whole exchange was a bit awkward to watch, but at the same time, I was pleased for them because they were so cute together and clearly had something unique and special going on.

I guess now I know who Kalani wants to go to that waterfall with.

Kalani pouted a little, but he let Mitchell go, and stood back. He evidently hadn't noticed me standing there before, but when he did, he give me a little grin and greeted me with, "Hello, Victor. Guess what? It's haunted shipwreck time!"

"Can't wait!” I said, and meant it.

We didn't see any ghosts, but the shipwreck was impressive. Kalani said we'd have to come back at night if we wanted to go ghost hunting, and he sounded so serious that I wasn't sure if I should believe him or not. Then, he told me a story about a ghost mermaid, which I knew he had to be making up.

"Mermaids aren't real," I said. "They're just legends, right?"

"Of course they're real," said Kalani. "Mermen, too."

Mitchell made a noise, sucking air between his teeth like you'd do if you got a sudden minor injury like a paper cut or like burning your finger or lip on hot food. He didn't say anything, though.

I stared at Kalani for a second, attempting to judge whether or not he was joking. Concluding that it was a joke, I played along. "You mean, there are guy mermaids?"

"Mermen," Kalani repeated. "There have to be mermen and mermaids, Victor. How else would you get baby mer-people?"

I laughed so hard, I actually snorted. "You are the literal best, Kalani."

He flashed a big, goofy grin. "I know. Mitchell says that about me, too."

I glanced at Mitchell, whose face was as red as the pomegranates we'd picked earlier in the week. He mumbled, "Did I say that?"

Kalani hopped over to him and caught him by the hand. "Come on, Mitchell! We have to show Victor the shipwreck garden next."

The 'shipwreck garden' turned out to be a lush, green spot not too far from the remains of the old ship. It was colourful and vibrant and smelled exactly how I imagined a tropical garden should smell. There were a dozen different kinds of flowers and plants, all shaded by tall, thin palm trees. It was breathtaking.

After that, we trekked all around the area of the shipwreck. I took lots of pictures. Mitchell was quiet, but Kalani kept us entertained with a running commentary on everything, as well as telling me about some of his favourite island legends. The one I liked best was a story about how mer-people had learned to read. According to Kalani, that one is an important tale in island folklore.

All too soon, it was time to leave. I asked Mitchell and Kalani if they'd like to come back to my campsite for something to eat, and they both agreed, although Kalani said he had to go home first and would join us later. I asked him how he was getting home, since I hadn't seen a boat anywhere nearby, and there didn't seem to be any other way to go except by the path Mitchell and I had used to get here.

"I'm going to swim," Kalani said.

So much for my theory about him being afraid of water.

I didn't miss the pointed look Mitchell shot his way. Mitchell looked almost annoyed for a second, but then his face softened and he reached out to stroke Kalani's arm.

"Please be careful,” he said.

From his expression, I suspected Mitchell had wanted to say something completely different, but thought better of it in front of me. I couldn't help questioning what it was that'd changed the mood so abruptly, and I wondered if I'd ever find out.

Personal Gameplay Update #3

because I’ve been playing A LOT and the kids will be aging up soon and I’m heading back to Camilla and Salim (very soon).

Alright so, we made enough money to renovate the house, yay! So here’s what it looks like now (yes, that is still a pic of Marcus on the wall, it’s for the kids, okay? And yes the refrigerator needs to be cleaned but we’ve been busy). 

So with this renovation, Vanessa now has her own room that she’ll move into once she ages up (in about 2.5 days) and we can afford to furnish it (hopefully). There’s space for a small bathroom too but like Vanessa’s new room, that’ll have to wait. 

Speaking of busy, Spooky Day came and was awful because Wheatey got sick and needed to go to the vet then they got caught up doing other stuff for work and school then Marcus wanted the kids to spend some time with him so Sebastian and Vanessa went over to his house for a few hours (social activities mod) so they didn’t really get to participate in any of the festivities :( But its okay because Harvestfest was the next day so they would enjoy themselves then, or so I thought, but that day was even busier taking care of the house cause everything was a mess, the bees were enraged and the garden was pretty much dead (they did at least get to have a grand breakfast and piss off the gnomes first tho). Sebastian saw how busy his mom was and did of all the yard work and she was so proud so as a reward he got to play video games for the rest of the night.

The weekend is coming up soon so Rachel will be calling over the nanny so that she can FINALLY go out and have some fun! If we’re lucky, she’ll meet someone new *wink wink* too. Also, she’s a member of the Upper Crusts (foodie trait) but they haven’t met in a good minute. We’ll try to make that happen too.

Oh! And about where we left off in the last update when Marcus came by while she was at work -- this was his face when he realized that he was not going to be able to see her and would only be spending time with his daughter, lol!

OJA Timeline:

Alrighty, here’s a (hopefully) short and simple timeline of all the important stuff that has happened so far:

-We meet Hunter and Dante. They talk about visiting Selvadorado and decide to sell drugs to help get them money for the trip. -After lots of unprotected sex (oh man and I mean lots), Hunter becomes pregnant.  -They decide to quit the drugs cold turkey but Dante still sneaks some from time to time when Hunter isn’t around. -They earn enough money to move from their crappy apartment to a small house in Oasis Springs. -Delilah is born shortly after the move! -Hunter tries to greet new neighbors when they move in so she can make some friends but when she tries to be friends with Jacob, Dante gets jealous. -Dante gets really high and comes home to Jacob hugging Hunter so he comes in and beats Jacob up. -Hunter and Delilah leave the next morning because she doesn’t want her around him.  -She takes them to her parents house and rekindles their relationship since she ran away years ago. -Roughly two months later, her mom drags her along to a charity event where she encounters her childhood bully, Malcolm. He pushes himself on her but Dante suddenly shows up and saves her. -They work it out and Hunter and Delilah move back home.  A few months pass and the small family spends Harvestfest and Winterfest with Hunter’s parents.

oh hello! so i've been playing the sims for ages, and have loved playing challenges for ages. thing is, i never actually finish any of them, but i recently started the super sim challenge. i love trying to get stories out of my sims, but i never really share them with anyone so a lot of the times the story gets lost in the skill building and such. since so much of supersim is straight up skill building, though, i decided that i wanted to actually share the story of my supersim because i'm trying to actually give her a story as i go (and also in the hopes that actually posting it will get me to not give up on it). so now, it's time! i'll try to update about once a week, but since i'm a grad student... well, i am lucky if i get in a couple hours of playing in a week, let alone stuff that is interesting enough to update about. but tentatively, i'm going to say that i'm going to update on sundays with what's happened in her story and what progress i've made.

fthis is (some) of the vysoren family at harvestfest dinner, right before my super sim, macha, conveniently sitting at the head of the table, aged into a young adult and moved out on her own to truly begin the fun.

when starting this challenge, there was no doubt in my mind who that supersim would be based on: macha, one of my dnd characters. she is a blood hunter, is a huge nerd, and is endlessly curious. besides being a scholar (essentially a grad student herself), she's also got a complex that she's never good enough so she just has to keep trying to get better, hence the constant skill building and jumping from career to career. for the sake of this challenge, and wanting her to start as a toddler, i decided to use versions of my favorite wives, arcanist allura vysoren and lady kima of vord (from critical role, yes) that i already had in the game, and their first daughter would be macha. and then the family just kept.... growing. so the rest of the family is named after just some of my many dnd characters, and they are: sreng, oogie, bhai'n'tas, ludley, firefly, nithenoel, zavari, outis, and pernorae.... and i'm sure there will be more in the future as i move these kids out, because gods damn are the ladies fertile (and yes, i am using various mods/cc, so therefore same sex pregnancies and larger households).

macha is now a young adult; sreng is her best friend and is a teen not far out from aging up; oogie, bhai'n'tas, and ludley all just aged into teens the same day as macha; firefly, noel, zavari, and outis are all children, while pernorae is a baby i forgot to age up into a toddler before macha moved out. i do plan on playing the family from time to time, and macha at various points in the story will live with some of her siblings, but i don't know how much i'll update their story on here.

macha has decided not to go to university straight away and is taking a gap year. she's moved in with morgan ember, who has been her friend she was a child i think. they're taking her under their wing as she starts out life on her own, planning to mentor her in magic as well as just being a friend and support (this is definitely reminiscent of her relationship with dnd macha's friendship with her boss and fellow blood hunter). she has just entered the freelancer career as a digital artist, planning to work on gigs as she goes to travel selvadorada and explore the jungles and learn all it's secrets.

we'll see what all is in store for her! i'll probably do a screenshot/image dump of her at some point this week, because this post is long enough, but i'm excited to get to share her story.

recent sims 4 hijinks

(the save error finally got a patch! as did the wedding pack, so im planning to get kurogane and fai hitched soon ^^)

i love this flower table thing, its so much nicer looking than the actual flower arranging table. so i sized the flower arranging table down small and put it under this one. it worked! i could make bouquets on the table and it looked so good! however... of course, seconds later, it stopped working and she kept saying something was blocking her path. so i had to get rid of it. this happens lately, i used to be able to size stuff down and put stuff on them and still have them work, but lately even if it works for a while, it will stop working randomly. i tried replacing both items and it worked again... only to break again xP blah. flower arranging on this table should have been built to begin with anyway...

always forget about the gnomes on harvestfest, they are such a nuisance, but i never remove them from the holiday events because even being annoyed amuses me lol

tried to have a nice harvestfest grand meal and everyone got their food and sat down at the right table... except snufkin who just walked inside with his food xP had to manually send him outside so weird

for some reason i got wedding-related options in the socials menu xD thats only ever happened once (and of course no one's getting married atm)

so I was gonna adopt a dog and among the options... was this guy named "Fish" lol

Snufkin is self-employed as a vagabond, so he can give such an answer hehe

i made this elder artist sim who i loooove. she's got a pug named waffle <3 and she's got the inspirational aura-enabled easel and her lot traits are home studio and natural light, so she is leveling up her painting skill LIGHTNING FAST. i clocked it she is literally gaining one level for every one large painting. she hit level 5 in a single day. she'll be 10 next time i play hahahah

since she's an elder i sent my sim!moomins (moosims?) to her house to say hi and eh, do chores x'D rather than start her garden from plants she scavenges, i just planted the magnificent-quality ones from the moominhouse garden. and then i had them upgrade all her stuff. even brought her a bouquet sim!snorkmaiden made. she's got the nicest little house around now bahahaha.

Seriously, almost his ENTIRE GREENHOUSE randomly reverted to dirt piles! *facepalm* They don’t really NEED the produce right now, but...yeah, I picked up a certain gardening fix off Little Miss Sam��s tumblr after this particular playsession. *grumble*

-->Anyway -- Smiler tended the chickens, then went and made another mechanism (still with no zappage! Hooray for that) before going back out to the coop and trying to get a couple of the hens to like them (as they needed a bit of attention). The chickens still seem largely uninterested in them, but at least none of them hate them?

-->Alice, for her part, wolfed out and went on a hunt because she was hungry, and this brought her over the line to get another ability point! After some thought, I put it into the “Tunneler” power, because a quick way to get places is always good.

-->It was around this time that I realized, “hey, wait -- where did all the gnomes go after Harvestfest? I haven’t seen them in a while.” So I went looking around the lot, expecting them to be somewhere in the garden...

Nope. Up in Smiler’s party barn. With fifty million seed packets around them. XD Oh dear. Fortunately Victor was only too happy to go upstairs and clean up the plants while I scattered the gnomes around the greenhouse and in front of the chicken coop. Mostly duplicates of stuff he already had, but if he wants to plant begonias or daisies in the future, he’s got them now!

-->The gang then settled into doing creative stuff -- Alice some painting, Smiler some guitar playing and clay molding -- but it wasn’t long before I came to a decision -- namely, that I had to get them over to Finchwick so Victor could finally deliver his eggs to Kim, and then to Brindleton Bay so they could have a shot at adopting Kelly the cat and Shadow the dog! And so I had Victor (who was already starting to feel tired) down some sleep replacement, and sent the whole gang out to Finchwick to drop off the eggs! Alice and Smiler kept themselves occupied chatting in front of the pub while Victor made his delivery -- Kim thanked him and gave him a grocery delivery coupon, a livestock pen upgrade part, and a free Fruity Treat, along with the recipe! Not a bad reward. Victor joined his loves in front of the pub, and I figured I’d be right off to Brindleton Bay...
