I got two huge commissions going on in the works now in the background, so I won't be posting any finished things for a little while. Probably just a doodle break inbetween the hours. I want to thank those that have been helping me out with the emergency commissions so far, this has been helping me a lot!

Once the next three orders are done, I will be closing the prices for emergency comms and officially have them back to normal prices.

When I am done with the next three orders, I will be (trying) to finish up my old files and not make 40 new ones!

- I might be in the middle of working on a Tobi thing in the background. Or I might forget it.

Side note. I want to make the first image on the top of this post kind of deal again, the same theme I mean but a much bigger scale. I don't know if I have the energy or willpower to though.

Got thinking about this again. Started a writeup at midnight. Realized that after midnight was a bad time to be writing, so I scrapped it. So here's another attempt at it.

AI is the future and it's here. It'll only be getting better, faster, and more accessable over time. Fighting against AI on principal is like fighting the tide, so instead, lets think about what will change because of it.

First off, as 'ethical' as you can make a model - through public domain works, paying artists to be used in a dataset, or even paying a 'licencing fee' to people in that data set for each commercial use of it - un-ethical datasets will still exist somewhere, on some .uk or .ru domain, ready to make copies of other people's work. It's the new recolored-OC art theft, and it'll be sticking around for a long time to come.

As for lost jobs... There will be a lot. The big businesses? They'll gladly lay off entire rooms of people if a program can even come close to the same job. The business that doesn't care about art? You know the one - down in the strip mall, with the comic-sans on their sign? They'll use AI to make something vaguely passable for free and rejoice. The junior animator animating inbetweens? Backgrounds? Bland corprate art, packaging, concept art, signage, amature artists rejoicing over their first commissions, gone. The entry-level jobs of the art world will be the ones under threat. (I'd say that I'm among them, but let's be honest, even after a decade of daily drawing I couldn't squeeze out lunch money with my skills.)

Not all things will be lost, though. "Fine art" will still exist to launder money, and people who have built their own brand will be able to survive. (Though see a lot more copycats pop up.) Skilled artists will still see a boutique trade for original prints. Character artists, keyframe animators, and the concept artist doing the finished splash screens, they will all keep going, as there will still be a need for proper vision and direction.

The problem I forsee will be getting from "hobbiest" to "professional," when the gulf between the two is only going to be widened by AI generating passable work for everything inbetween.

There will be upsides to AI as well. For artists, it will become a very efficient tool. For the solo-animator who can focus on keyframes and auto-fill betweens for faster animations. The comic artist who can have backgrounds done with a click. For the artist who dumps their own gallery into a generator to spit out dozens of thumbnails in preperation for their next piece, AI will be a tool of efficiency.

And there will also be new, different jobs as well. A corporation may drop their art room for a bot, but they need an AI engineer to wrangle the right prompts, filter the outputs, tweak the final results, and generally overview the results to make sure there's no penises on your company advertisements.

So in the long and short of it; don't panic. AI is here and will continue. It will offer new opportunities, but business being business, it'll likely be even harder on the small-time artist going forwards.

Art is not dead, it's just going to be a little different.

Oh, and have this attempt at remaking my doodle with open AI. I obviously don't qualify for AI engineer any more than actual artist.

Rules and such

For character sheets I need a bare minimum reference. A Picrew or sketch of your own will be fine. A color pallet would be great.

In one person character sheets the personality doodles and sketches can be swapped out for up to 3 more detailed items important to the character instead (things like weapons, books, second outfit, etc.)

Nothing is going to be clean perfectly rendered types of art pieces, everything will have a little sketch left over or colors out of line. 

Fully Lineless is very limited request, I’m gonna turn down a lot of asks for it just because it takes a lot of energy and has very specific limits.

I’ll try and get to you with inbetween sketches but sense I usually do everything at once I may have things done before you have a chance to respond.

I really struggle with Furry and Mech. This isn’t a rule against the two, more so a warning that it might come out sketchier than human characters

Learning to Fail/ finding the inspiration to continue on

Hello random person who has stumbled across this post. I bet you are wondering what I’m writing about and why should one learn to fail. Well let me explain a little bit.

While following numerous authors, one of the most number one questions to these beautiful souls are? “I’d like to start writing” or “how to I start writing and working my blog” or something similar.

Let me first start off by stating I AM NOT A WRITER! By no means do you have to listen, read, or even take this advice. But what I do know is how to fail.

Weird success right (hehe), but let me tell you it is a hard skill, but an extricating useful skill.

Throughout my little life, I have meet countless people. Some people I still communicate with, others I don’t and then there are others that even if we have drifted, we still encourage one another. A close friend draws for commissions. Has her own site to place her portfolio for others to explore. Another, writes reports for a company (current job), but on the side she continuously edits works for people for creative writers, while also running a club (?) where people meet up to just write, explore, and just be with like minded people. No matter the hobby, career, or something spur of the moment, don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Let’s break it down a little.

Just start somewhere.

There are a variety of options for numerous creative outlets. Want to learn to write, challenge yourself to even on a small scale, or just put your ideas out there? Here are some options I have gathered from people around me.

1. Guess one of the most popular is nanowrimo. Lol obvious and obnoxious right. Like how could I just put that out there. But from experiences of others, this is a good starting point

2. Join a local writing club. There is an app I use quite frequently and it’s called Meetup. I’ve joined clubs where my hobbies bring together people from all walks of life, and we just enjoy the company of people with similar interest

a. If in person is a fear, no worries. With increasing advances there are online forums, sites (tumblr), and I’m sure others.

3. Sign up to beta

Fan art or just wanting to draw in general. Start small. Doodle. Sketch. Find a source of inspiration. The easiest way to learn is to practice. I know it isn’t as simple sounds (even I had to be like huh do I really want to include this is my post). However, there are youtube videos where illustrators guide basic knowledge. There are books. Little apps (some free, some expensive and those inbetween).

Many (some of the most prominent people out there actually) had a small start. If anything, 99.9% of people on this site are wonderful people to communicate with. Enjoy their work? Want advice? I guess the best advice is to just try. Little worried? Most have anon options.

Some of my favourite authors (both on this site and those that have published physical books) have had to start somewhere. Some massive creators (I watch way too many documentaries - Disney being a large one for art) have rejected ideas, rework pieces, tweck, scrap and may even just take a break.

Also, if you just want to do this as a hobby too, or a creative outlet that’s perfectly understandable. Just be you and do you.

I guess, the number one point if you take anything from this post is this

don’t create to succeed, create for yourself. Even if one person responses, enjoys, and finds comfort from whatever you create; guess what you made a success. And if even it doesn’t, realize that just putting it out there is one of the biggest leaps of faith IN YOURSELF you can ever do.

Valorverse - Lady Amalthea

Once again, no self control so posting this today LOL This is Lady Amalthea, the daughter of Princess Celestia and Starswirl the Bearded. You can read about how she came to be here: She earned her cutie mark creating a constellation in the sky.  When she was younger, she hated the attention she got for being Celestia's daughter. She just wanted a normal life without all the special attention and treatment. She also felt a lot of ponies judged her for being a bastard child. Starswirl got a LOT of flack after everyone realized he had gotten his own student pregnant and that didn't help at all. This caused Starswirl to leave their hometown and travel, trying to keep in touch with Celestia. He eventually settled and was able to officially trade her off with Celestia like they both wanted to.  Amalthea was the apple of Starswirl's eye, and he did his best to keep her happy and healthy, though he never expected what would happen to her in the next few years. When she was a teen, she contracted Polio. It completely stunted the growth in one of her legs and eventually paralyzed the other into her adulthood. The complications of the disease and having to spend so much time in a hospital gave her PTSD, and a lot of Soft foods trigger her. (Think soup, jello) because of how many surgeries she had to have to salvage her leg. (Which in the end didn't even work. She also knew she was looked at weird because of her disability. Resentment and anger fostered in her towards the ponies of Equestria. When she was younger, Celestia and Starswirl really didn't get along that much. While they were mostly civil, there would be fights between them every once in a blue moon when they went to go drop her off to the other parent's house.  As they all got older though, they eventually became a really tight knit family even though Starswirl and Celestia stayed separate. The Polio incident really brought them together. That was until Celestia married Prince Sombra. This really affected her relationship with Celestia. She no longer saw the strong, intelligent leader she had thought she was, and saw a selfish, flawed pony that only wanted what she wanted.  They got into many fights about Sombra and the affect he had on their world, and while Celestia did try to defend herself, she couldn't help but realize how selfish she was being for it, and eventually would just yell at her to stop and not talk to her the way she was. That she was flawed too and made a mistake. She and Sombra never really got along all that well because of it, even though he tried his best to be nice to her.  One day, they got into a particularly heated argument that ended up with her moving out and not talking to Celestia for YEARS. Celestia renounced her title as the heir to her throne as well, causing extreme grief and distress in her. She left for a while, living on her own and becoming more and more of a hermit, though never correcting people when they called her Princess or anything like that. She tried to keep in contact with her father, but started calling less and less. he was very quiet, only speaking when she felt necessary, and almost always came off as angry, irate, or crabby on a good day. She eventually started missing her mom so much she went to go see her again and met Mahina, Celestia's son with Sombra. This made her even more angry than she was before they broke off last time, and she decided she had done the right thing by leaving. She then left back to her home, thinking she'd never talk to them again. Eventually though, her loneliness got the best of her and she came back again. Celestia welcomed her with open arms into her family, and she moved back into the castle with them. While she was on speaking terms with her mother, things never really were good with Mahina. She knew he had the title as the heir and that wouldn't change at this point, and she was still resentful about the situation between Celestia and Sombra, as the effects it had on Equestria and the world were getting worse and worse.   She treated him horribly. Mahina did his best to earn the admiration and love he wanted from his sister but it never happened. While they did have moments where they got along, it was mostly anger and resentment from Amalthea. Sometimes she even would get angry enough to hit him, but those were very rare and inbetween.  Celestia and Starswirl both tried to help her as much as they could but never really could. She officially changed her title to "Lady" as Mahina got older, not wanting to be referred to as Princess Anymore. (as it brings bad memories) She doesn't necessarily want to let go of the fact that she's royalty but didn't want to be referred to as such. THIS GOT A LONG LONGER THAN EXPECTED WHOOPS. I just traced the ittle doodle I did of her a while back but I still love her lol. She was graciously given to me by chickendoodles0up a while back, and I think I tagged them on the first pic I doodled but oh well LOL.
