hello, i'm 30+ (they, them) and i'm looking for long term rp partners to write with, either here or on discord (over 21s only). i'm a literate writer, who prefers to write in short-ish para style - i can do longer paras and novella, but they take me much longer to reply to since i work most days. so i have a preference for slightly shorter threads.

i only do f/f, f/enby, or enby/enby ships. but i'm open to interacting outside of ships too, with either ocs or ccs from the following fandoms (or genres). the fandoms i'm most familiar with are yellowjackets, the last of us, star trek, greys anatomy / station 19, supergirl, special ops: lioness, from, and a league of their own. i'm also open to writing with most crime, first responder, or medical based ocs or ccs from fandoms i'm not familiar with, as long as you're willing to be adaptable.

i don't write smut. but i am a fan of some darker themes, at times. i'm also a sucker for plotting things out in (some) detail, and prefer to keep an open line on communication when writing; mostly to share ideas, headcanons, and other fun stuff.

Thor left the building, his hand still pressed against the gash in his abdomen that wasn't really there. None of it was. Not the wounds, not the gore of the... no, he couldn't even think the word. The next boat for Kugane wouldn't be until dawn and while the fresh ocean air might aid him well in forgetting tonight, it was a ways off yet. He stopped along side a half stone wall and leaned against it before sliding down to the ground. Undoing the sheath's clasp, his gunblade was lain along the cobble at his side. Thor took out his tin of rolled tobacco and lit one up, laying the container atop the weapon rather than making any effort to tuck it away. If he'd ever inhaled harder than that first hit, the memory was lost to him. It filled every inch of his lungs and brought a sense of relief to his otherwise tensed body. His finger tips trailed over the grooves in the leather armor concealing his abdomen. Not a single bit felt out of place. Tchsh. "Aye?", Thor answered, smoke dangling from his lips as he'd chosen to release the cigarette rather than remove the comforting reminder of sanity pressed against his chest. "Lone? Doc told me where he sent ya. That gal's a real quack! Got a nastier reputation than he does if you can believe it. But you're answerin' so I figure it wasn't all that earned?" Red's voice brought an odd sense of comfort after the hours of hallucinations he'd endured. The...no, he still couldn't think it. "Aye. Ah'll not be takin' any more detours in route thas fer certain", Thor replied, attempting to add a slight chuckle at the end to really sell the nonchalance. What was he going to do? Tell Red the truth? At best the outlaw would laugh his ass off, and worst, he'd insist Thor took more time to rest and recover. He was right sick of sleep at this point. Best to keep it all to himself. "Should I let the good Doc know to expect a heavy greetin' upon your return?" Red's smirk could be heard in the tone of each and every word. A sort of amusement filling the outlaw's bones as he anticipated the retaliation for whatever had, or hadn't occurred. Thor pulled the smoke from his lips, eyeing the embers at its end before exhaling a cloud into the bright, start-filled sky. "An' ruin all mah fun? Don't ya dare." They exchanged a few more words before Red signed off and what was left of Thor's cigarette was snuffed out on an otherwise flawless piece of stone. He sighed heavily and shut his eyes, tilting his head back until it stopped against the short wall. His hand was still pressed against the leather armor. How was he going to bring a kid into this life. Sure, it happened all the time. He'd grown up with pirates since birth. Some kids just didn't get a choice. But did Dkota have one? Was he really the best option? As Thor began to doze off his final thoughts weren't of the eerie doctor he'd met that night. They weren't of the two, no wait, three, miqo'te he'd met, each as fussy as the last. They surely weren't of the viera who'd spent the night hiding or the garlean giving Grey a run for his money in the annoying lecture department. Nope. Thor's last thoughts as he surrendered to sleep were of the giant goose he'd hallucinated and fought to the death, with a pack of strangers, until it's remains had decorated them all. A fucking, Goose. Llymlaen take him.

Vladimir approaches the other from behind, fingers smoothly and delicately running over Robins neck as he croons in his ear. “I think we should get jewelry to emphasize that darling neck of yours.” A claw gently flicked across Robin's jawline as Vlad continued to invade his personal space.

That irresistably charming voice practically dripped into his ears when his lover pressed their bodies together and his claws slid around the pale column of Robin's throat. The touch was icy, but the heat caressing his ear caused a shudder to trickle down his spine, the instinctual need to run shot his pulse up - a prey response. It wasn't as though he could help it, given the scar that wrapped around his neck, and he found his breath hitching. Oh what a pretty thing - especially when he willed himself to relax into Vladimir's arms, palms sliding from the face of the wash stand only for his fingers to catch the handles on either side of the basin. He never hurt him. He would never hurt him.

His mind wandered back to when that damned book had possessed his spirit, dominating over him in an attempt to free whatever malevolence pulsed within... and yet... The Hemomancer had not struck him down. It would have been easy, a mindless feral creature had replaced him and a surefire way to rid the world of it was to rip apart its vessel; and surely it wasn't powerful enough to possess Vladimir. But...he didn't. To anyone else it would have looked cruel, using magic to constrict and bind the mage's body - but Robin knew better; it wasn't to dominate, it was to protect. With how violent he was described as later it was a miracle he hadn't killed someone, or that Vlad had let him - or....well, his body.

Instead he bound him to stop him from hurting himself, but never too tightly to cause him any real pain; maybe a bruise or two, but nothing he couldn't shrug off later. It was bizarre how eager Vladimir was to spill any blood that wasn't Robin's - but it seemed hard for him to hurt the mage; surely a choice of the soul rather than any logical reasoning. He was just a mortal after all, easily replaceable within this hellscape of life, but somehow Vladimir had deemed him important enough...treasured enough to have mercy. And he smiled, eyes fluttering shut while a beautiful peach toned blush painted across his cheeks and ears.

Robin's fingers met Vlad's with a deep breath of the intoxicatingly dark cologne that was leftover from being dappled upon his jaw. His palm slid across the laced ruffle collar of the nightdress he wore to finally rest atop the Hemomancer's. His head slowly angled back in order to peer into his lover's cerise gaze, within a moment that expectant stare destroyed the last of his resolve; and he threaded his fingers through a lock of Vlad's silky pale hair. Plush lips met the lock as they stood in the early morning light which had just sparkled through the crack in their curtains,

This is fascinating - literally just a few days ago I was wondering how to broach the topic without sounding like I was being rude (I'm just very direct lol) - I wanted to know what it is about FFXIV that makes people want to be the WoL ICly. I've RP'd longterm in 3 MMOs now, and I've never seen anyone in WoW go and RP as the hero of Azeroth, in GW2 I never saw anyone RP as the commander - it seemed pretty well accepted that there is only one Commander, and we can't all be them (and then it railroads and writes your character's story for you)... though since being on Tumblr I've found a few GW2 blogs that do rp as the Commander, but not many.

So it was a huge culture shock to me when I migrated to FFXIV back in 2019, that... it felt like everyone was the WoL. And for me, a character who fights gods in outer space, among other god-tier feats like time-travel, is far too powerful a character for my people who just live in the world to interact with. And then if so many people are The Warrior of Light, how does that work if you meet more than one ic? Would it restrict who a WoL player could rp with, since so many people are all playing 'Superman'? (Given what the WoL is capable of, in comparison to everyone else, to include killing many 'unkillable' things like immortals from a time before time... Superman seems like an apt comparison. The WoL is more powerful than most could imagine.) Do most people who write a WoL actually just write solo?

For me, I think it's that I want to write something that's wholly mine. MSQ railroads you into specific dialogue and choices and so on - and I like a more low/mid power level person, at that. I know what the WoL's life is like, but what's it like for the little guys just trying not to get hit by cars and eye-beams as Superman saves Metropolis yet again? What's it like to suffer the realities of war, and only hear tales of a hero who can smite gods? Why didn't that hero save you? Having all the god-tier powers of the WoL means that there are basically no more challenges left on the planet for you - you're quite literally the most powerful being in existence on any planet, actually, at this current point in story.

But maybe that hero fantasy is precisely why others love to be the WoL! We all have different tastes, and I was never really into all-powerful Superman type heroes before XIV, either - give me a Spiderman/Batman ( /cough Thancred) any day... the hero who is strong, but can still fail. They're not the strongest, and they have to work with what they've got and figure out how to surmount seemingly impossible odds.

Anywho, this is certainly not a judgement of anyone who writes a WoL - variety is the spice of life, and all that. It's moreso just curiosity - especially given that even GW2's commander is about as god-tier as the WoL (moreso, honestly, for reasons that would de-rail this post), and the story with your NPC party just as/maybe more poignant (sorry Alisaie, you're still #2 next to Taimi! And my literal dragon daughter Aurene...) - yet the RP communities seem to approach the idea of RPing as the main character quite differently!

Kara aka Supergirl was getting tired of being in her cousin's shadow. She loves being a hero and wants to help people, but doesn't like being associated with being seen as Superman's cousin. So, she decided to leave the Justice League to do her own thing. Even moved away to have her own place and an area where to do her hero work.

She finds out there's a bad guy moving some weapons to a secured warehouse, so she goes to find it. Unaware its a trap, set up by your muse, who has been looking to get the super heroine as their slave for some time. Kara arrived to the area and looked for the weapon. Walking right into the trap your muse set up.

"Now then. Where are these weapons? They're supposed to be around here somewhere. Maybe I'm in the wrong warehouse?"

Hi, I’m @starlightcosmos04245 and I’m the one behind this dorky Maxie - though I mostly go by his German name, Marc (I am German, and have a separate OC who’s related to this Maxie, whose name is… Maxie (too much Maxie). That’s why lol).

Marc lives in a universe of the multiverse many years into the future. The events of ORAS have long been said and done, he’s still the leader of Team Magma (although they’re known to the public as "Magma Research Laboratories" now. Internally they’re still Team Magma) and is actively working with Team Aqua (aka. "Aqua Marine Laboratories" (they weren’t very creative) to better the environment. Sadly, since they’re still under the radar of the government of Hoenn (which is mostly led by people who have no clue about anything + the Pokémon League of Hoenn), Devon Co. has a say in their affairs. Marc is pissed off about it, Archie as well. Just fyi. Marc just always tries to keep up a calm facade. One court trial and probation are enough for him in his lifetime. He doesn’t need any more problems than he already has (the public still views him as public enemy #1 together with Archie).

HEADCANONS/LORE

His story takes place many years after the events of ORAS, especially a version where both Maxie and Archie gave their stupid ideas a try and both kinda succeeded. Though they both got stopped by Lizzy (my OC who’s basically a stand-in for each of the protagonists. She has her own blog (@ematsubusa), if you want to interact with her too) who later becomes Maxies wife after being done with her journeys. They don’t have a romantic relationship before she finishes travelling. She initiated it. He was a nervous mess. Big-ass old virgin.

In the timeline they live in, they have three children - a pair of fraternal twin sons (8 yrs old atm) and a daughter (5 yrs old atm).

This Maxie cares about his family very much. He sometimes can be caught rambling about his “little Numels”, as he endearingly calls them.

This Maxie is a descendant of the Diamond Clans founder from PLA (the guy in the paintings so looks like RSE Maxie). He’s not directly Adamans descendant, but Adamans uncle’s who migrated from Hisui to Hoenn long before the events of PLA.

Maxie’s father is one of the last remaining descendants of the clan… who takes it all wayyyy too seriously.

Maxie is half Japanese half German (father is Japanese, mother is German). He can speak both languages. I can’t. I can speak German and English. That’s it (for now, who knows). So maybe Maxie will speak German sometimes

please also note that there are also canon ships from certain fandom/media that i prefer to not roleplay as i primarily see them as friends and nothing else! (eg., anhane, shin soukoku, atsushi and kyoka)

if you ask to roleplay on another platform, then it would be discord i'm most comfortable with!

if you're a minor and ask for nsfw roleplay, then i'm sorry, but i'm turning you down because i'd be comfortable doing that with an adult.

do NOT control my character, i will actually be turned off from replying for a long while if this happens.
