explaining summer christmas is so odd someone just asked if our decorations are still snow or winter themed like not really but it's not crazy. like you do see snowflake decorations or fake snowmen i wouldn't think anything of it it's just christmas without focusing on it being winter idk like how people treat hot cocoa as a christmas thing NO. it's a winter thing... i think we just lean more into red and green + greenery in general so lots of wreathes and pine garlands and tinsel or whatever ... but i mean everything else is more or less the same. i don't know what the northern hemisphere actually DOES for christmas but i've spent more than one like at someone's swimming pool... one time i was in a super tiny outback town and my cousin rented a room at a motel and we used their pool and bbq area. and people well barbecue and have like summery lunches w cold desserts as opposed to like a hot roast dinner or turkey or whatever i don't know i know some people do but my family doesn't. but everything else is basically the same. except santa is usually wearing sunglasses and holiday clothes and has a surfboard. kind of funny if you think about it very hard. people do go to the beach or lakes and stuff but they're not usually open idt at least so you can't swim

To say you were feeling holly and jolly would be an understatement. It was singlehandedly the most festive yet most stressful time of year, and you were gonna enjoy every bit of it, no matter what!

It was quiet a difficult task to achieve alone, however. So you employed the help of your wonderful boyfriend, Hirofumi.

Christmas couple activities, begin now!

You, as a very self-sufficient human, recognized that putting together a Christmas tree would be an easy task. Getting out ornaments was one of the most simple things! And this is one of the instances where Yoshida comes in.

It didn't take much convincing, in fact, most the conversation centered around not if you both will decorate the tree, but when. The weekend should suffice, right? You will have all day to make everything look nice.

The fated day arrived, and after much time spent on branches with significantly less on actually putting on ornaments, you went in search for the tree topper.

You came back in the room holding two toppers, a gold star and a silver snowflake, both of which glimmered in the sunlight from their sparkles.

"Okay, so, are we feeling like the center of attention or a fleeting moment?" You showed Yoshida your options. After a moment of contemplation, he walked over to tree and placed the snowflake on top.

"Even if right now is a fleeting moment, it is an enjoyable one with you," he turned to you with a smile. You ran over and clung to him, "ahhh! Always such a heartthrob, even when you don't try."

It was now winter break, you know what that means, right? Free time for more activities! And no better activity than to bake, you do know how to bake, right? Even if you don't it's fine! Hirofumi will make sure you don't accidentally burn down the kitchen, such a nice boyfriend.

After several batches of cookies later, the taste testing began. Science says taste is subjective basically...I think. So whether they're good or not is up to you, girlie!

The Eve of Christmas, how long you have waited for this night. Yoshida promised you a date before you two would spend the following day together. Sure, you go on dates throughout the year, but devils make December so much more stressful. That leaves him occupied with killing while you focus on surviving.

You both meet at the local KFC for a Christmas dinner, because fun fact: this IS a Japanese tradition! The date went as good as they usually do. Much chatting and laughter.

"What do you say we do tomorrow?" You questioned, hoping to be prepared. There was a mischievous smile on his face, "meet me at the closest konbini in the morning."

You were confused, but there's no way he'd tell you anything more, that smile says it all.

Christmas couple activity three, success!

It was freezing out, you were barely here for 5 minutes and you already wanted to go home. You saw Yoshida walking up and ran to him, hoping that hugging him would preserve some warmth.

"So, what's today's plan?" You questioned him. He gave you an oddly specific location to meet him, wasn't even a store or restaurant.

"Tonight, when it snows meet me at the roadside rest area over," he pointed at a relatively elevated mountain, "there." Yeah, very odd. But you assume he has a plan, and you hope it's not to kill you.

So after many hours of bundling up to make the arduous journey up the snowy mountain, you finally meet him. It didn't long to cling to Yoshida for dear life, you were gonna freeze to death at this rate!

"Do I get to know the reason for my impending preventable doom?" You could barely say through chattering teeth. "Sure, but you have to open your eyes." He said, laughing at you and your suffering.

Like the strong soldier you are, you opened your eyes and waited for a moment, "okay, so wha-" a firework went off, followed by another, then by two more. You watched in wonder at the colorful show, feeling the cold subside while your mind focused on more important things.

"It's...It's so pretty, Fumi," you whispered. Yoshida wrapped an arm around you, "I knew you'd like it."

The show ended far too soon, and you both headed back to town with him dropping you off home first. "Was that worth your preventable doom?" Was the first thing he asked when you got inside, you sighed when you looked at him, "yes, yes it was."

happy wincest wednesday! what type of gimmick episode do you think they should have done on supernatural (and made wincesty) that they missed out on? body swap between sam and dean is a free space i guess. i think they should have had an episode where sam and dean can't/aren't allowed to speak during a case and have to communicate nonverbally, maybe with the occasional stupid subtitle for their gestures.

Your idea for a deaf&dumb episode is hysterical and I am now So Sad we didn't get it. Dean's cute lil vamp gesture but for 40 minutes? Sign my bitchass up. Plus, to make it wincesty, we could finally have had canon Dean Winchester do the blowjob imitation thing where you push your tongue into your cheek, and Sam would roll his eyes so hard but then push Dean to his knees anyway, and you know what, Dean'll go with that option too. One thing about this is that we had so many gimmick episodes that are canon, lol. A Christmas ep! A Halloween ep! The ep where it's all a dream! Outsider POV! A whole ep full of AUs to other shows! The gimmick to end all gimmicks, crushing the fourth wall down to dust not once but... what, 4 or 5 times? It's actually bizarre that they never did Sam-Dean bodyswap because that's just so... obvious. Maybe they physically wouldn't have been able to stop themselves from making dick jokes and haircut threats the whole time and decided to avoid the whole thing.

The one thing I can think of that we legit didn't get is a birthday episode. (I am not counting the four seconds of it in the Mrs Butters ep.) It'd be an obvious one, too, because Dean's birthday would've fit perfectly into the return from the midseason hiatus, and all sorts of nonsense could've happened. Because it's SPN, it'd end up being a No Good Terrible Very Bad Day, and so Dean would keep trying to have nice things for his birthday and oh gosh, it just wouldn't go right. :( Sam disappears on him in the middle of the night to go on some trip. The Impala gets a flat tire. He tries to order happy birthday waffles for himself at the diner but they're soggy and the waitress turns out to be a ghost or some shit. He has to dig a grave but it's January and it's cold af. The liquor store is closed. His favorite jeans develop a hole. He tries valiantly to hit on a girl at the bar but she's a perfectly nice lesbian. What is a birthday boy to do. :(

Luckily, when he finally gets back to the bunker/motel, Sam's there with a full spread of like KFC and a twelve-pack and bourbon and special porn ordered just for him, like, man, where were you all day? (Wincest parenthetical: And then they boink mightily, after a brief pause where Dean gets a charlie horse in his calf. Luckily Sam is there to kiss it better. And then he'll lever himself sweatily out of bed to take a piss, and--) Sam picked up a (cream) pie, special, and holds out his lighter for Dean to blow out to make his wish, and Dean rolls his eyes and says, dude, what do you take me for, but he blows it out anyway. Celeste - Celeste's relationship with the holiday/winter season is complicated. She celebrates Yule as her holiday. While she doesn't have many traditions due to information on Yule being rather scarce for the most part; she does what she can though. However!! She also does things for Christmas and decorates certain places in her home for Christmas. She even tells her kids about Santa and gets them Christmas presents.

This is because Christmas was Luce's favorite holiday. And Luce's favorite parts were decorating and getting gifts for her loved ones. Thus in her honor, Celeste does those parts of Christmas for her. She even leaves a photo of Luce facing the Christmas tree every year "so she can see it."

Things like the gift giving wasn't hard for Celeste to adopt into her practice. She already uses gift giving as a love language after all.

Delfino - The Superbia household wasn't large on any holiday really. Outside of what was expect of their family to do by mafia high society for celebrations and what her aunt did for her, Squalo, and their mom; Delfino has never really celebrated anything around the holidays. This changed when she started celebrating with the Cavallone Famiglia. The closeness of everyone there and just how they are means they tend to celebrate just about any holiday someone in the family does. Poor Del is still getting used to it, often juggling different traditions all at once and trying her best to keep up. Sometimes she makes mistakes, but everyone tends to be understanding and patient with her.

Noel - Despite her December birthday and her name literally being Christmas in French, Noel has only semi-recently grown fond of the holiday season. She didn't hate it before or anything, but it always tended to overshadow her. People either just assumed she loved Christmas and ignored her birthday early in the month or used one of the two as an excuse to not get her anything for either one. Then she met the other Arcobaleno and Celeste.

Celeste from the start already adores spoiling her loved ones on their birthdays in general, so of course she went all out for Noel's. And Chirstmas time is a perfect excuse to get her even more gifts. Skull expresses affection similarly, though most of his gifts were on Christmas as he needed more time to finish making them. Luce holds similar feelings too when it comes to birthdays and, as established, she loved giving presents at Christmas. The efforts of these three combined were plenty to get the others to also put effort into Noel's birthday and Christmas for her.

This was a first for Noel and what made her warm up to the holiday more.

Felicia - Felicia honestly doesn't care much for holidays themselves. Obviously she loves spending time with the people she loves and who doesn't enjoy gifts! But, the holidays themselves don't hold much meaning to her. What she really loves doing this time of year is baking. So many holidays and traditions this time of year have different things to bake. Felicia takes it as a fun personal challenge to keep improving her recipes for the things every year.

Hideko - So! Okay, I can't personally verify this lol. But from what I know, Christmas in Japan tends to be seen more as a couple's holiday. As such, Hideko tends to spend it more with Miyu than with her little sister or other guardians. But even then, she's not huge on it. She'll at most splurge on a gift for Miyu, get a strawberry cake, and some convenience store fried chicken (She's not waiting that long for KFC).

Apparently I got away with eating KFC yesterday which is excellent, I'm now 1.7kg away from my pre-Christmas weight, I'm averaging just over a kg a week loss so possibly the end of February I might have hit it.

Parents are coming up for the weekend today so I have to buy normal people food which I will hopefully not be tempted to eat, I've not really had any particular cravings recently, curiously I don't think I had any keto flu symptoms either, other than a day of excessive peeing (tbh I have to pee excessively anyway). I have got a slight headache, could be stress, I'm going to eat some salt, hopefully that makes it go away, and then I have to actually get up and do some housework. Or at least clear all the tools and bits of engine off the living room floor so they have somewhere to sleep lol.

im 18 now, turning 19 in april (i started my first yanblr in ? 2020 maybe? so when i was 13/14 and it got banned in 2022 lmfao). i was so much more unstable back then, and im a bit better now.

i found my current bf in 2022, and we've been . kinda on and off for nearly 3 years now. we took a 'break' for months in late 2023 (? or 2022 idfk, it was over a christmas) and i fucking hated it. i was cutting and crying every day it was so fucking bad lol. and then, the day after he broke up with me, he flew up to see his friends and he probably just partied n cheated on me and stuff but its FINE probably idk

ummm then he suddenly started joining calls again with me n the group again and i guess that evolved into us doing sleep calls again and . other shit (lol) but i was entirely under the impression it was FWB stuff but ! turns out it wasnt even though like 4 months prior he said that he never loved me but thats fine

now ive worked at maccas for a bit, at kfc for a bit, and doing a christmas casual thing at myer for a bit and i got accepted into TAFE to do a certificate 3 in childcare + childhood education - which will allow me to, yk, work at a pre-school.

ive saved up enough money to finally meet my friends and boyfriend. but i dont know if im meeting my bf alone or if hes flying up to see our friends together but god i fucking hope its just us bc idk if i can be all relationship-y in front of other people. us meeting is pretty much just just trying to get the answer to 'are they insufferable irl and do i want to continue the relationship' . which i find will be kinda a hard conversation to have with other people in the house/around us/WHATEVER .

but thats a conversation i need to have with him on the 22nd after i go to my TAFE orientation and find out when my term holidays are (bc the plan is to visit him when the school holidays happening) . yay .

i definitely feel like we are more friends with benefits bc he doesnt seem to want to do anything privately with me anymore. like just us 2 in call . which is upsetting . but its ok .

idk all in all, im kinda fucking struggling STILL with doubts and anxiety. and more often than not im finding myself wanting to cut and cry every day and sometimes on the way to work i have the urge to just jump in front of the train im catching - but im still here so take that as you will.

sometimes, to get through the day, i pretend we're just friends so that i dont have to remember that we're in a relationship and that he treats me more like a friend than a girlfriend .

i wonder if im not enough or if he's embarrassed. i dont really know how to do my makeup and i think all of his own friends are dating really pretty girls - and im a cute 4/10 at best . i dont want to be the 'ugly girlfriend'.

Merry Tendiesquest-mas: KFC

every year, hundreds of millions of people sit down to eat a christmas dinner of kentucky fried chicken. granted, most of those people live in other countries, where kfc is run differently, and thus has a way better reputation. so i've been pretty scared to do this one, not gonna lie.

not helping the matter was the fact that i dont live near one of them. theres 2 that i know of, equally far away, but i went to the one that i percieved as closer. maybe i was hoping it would be closed for some reason and i could just go to the taco johns, since i was only a block away. but i kinda wonder, if i had gone to the other kfc, that was in a nicer area, what would have changed. but unfortunately, i can only report on the tendies from this timeline:

they're not horrible. it was not some horrible greasy mess as the prophecy foretold. instead, they were vastly overcooked. not burnt, but getting really fucking close. crunchy verging on hard on the outside, tough on the inside, and too thin, with a very disappointing chicken to breading ratio, an issue that wouldve been present even if they werent overcooked. the seasoning is decent, though, the classic 12 herbs and spices seem to be serving them well enough.

a very telling sign is that aurora sniffed the box and did not try to go for it. emmy either.

the fries are seasoned, similar to popeyes, but like... overseasoned??? god, if i was a sauce girlie, my taste buds would be running minecraft with shaders, like, just absolutely at the edge of their processing power trying to compute. they were also overcooked.

also, like raising canes, they made me have a drink with my meal? it wasnt optional? so, i had to buy bottled water that i didnt want. yay.

the one. saving grace. was the biscuit. it blows popeyes out of the fucking water, jesus fucking christ, dear lord, it slapped so hard. and! they give you little packets of butter and honey to put on it, which is nice in and of itself, but also happens to be my favorite biscuit accoutrements! i tried a bite without the butter and honey, and lowkey it does not need any more butter lol, but even that was a cut above.

one time i went to fazolis for just the breadsticks. you could totally go to kfc for just the biscuits. hot damn.

but unfortunately, peripherals do not count towards the rating, i just like french fries, so i get them.

now, even though the chicken was not good, i'd say overcooked is better than undercooked, and seasoned is better than not seasoned, so they get a b. that might sound generous, but this is a tier list, so S exists, and ive never given anything lower than a c, so i think b makes sense.

‘I’m on my way up.’

Was the last text message Natsu had sent just a few minutes before Lucy heard the knock on her apartment door. Christmas wasn’t a secular holiday in Japan, but they’d taken to celebrating the spirit of the holiday no differently than in many other countries. Families would gather together for meals of a poultry feast and couples went out on dates to spend time with one another. Many gave each other gifts as well to show how much they appreciated their friendships.

And that’s what Lucy assumed had brought Natsu to her door this Christmas Eve. They were best friends since childhood, been through thick and thin together, and knew each other well enough to finish each other’s sentences. An outsider looking in would assume they were more... much, much more than friends. Lucy wished it were so, but Natsu’s never shown such an interest in anyone and when she’d asked once... for research purposes... he’d said he wanted to finish college and have a secure job before getting into any relationships.

Okay, Lucy could respect that kind of an answer. Some people thought Natsu was a goof ball and aloof, but she knew he was much smarter than he looked. So it was highly plausible he was merely thinking of the future. Frankly he was a typical Japanese male in that regard, but Lucy also knew there was more to it. Natsu was an orphan who’d had to work hard for what he had. He probably just wanted to make sure when the time came for a family, he’d be ready to take care of one. It made him all the more endearing to Lucy and her heart flutter whenever she thought too much about it.

Lucy readied her gift seconds before the knock came. She opened her front door. “Hey Natsu! Merry Christmas!”

“Merry Christmas, Lucy,” he smiled wide and held up a plastic bag holding a bucket of KFC. “Hope you’re hungry!”

“Oh, wow! You ordered that in advance huh? I heard you have to preorder those meals.”

“Yup! Cause I wanted to share this tradition with you.”

She blushed. “Aww, you’re so sweet.”

“Like candy,” he beamed causing her to chuckle at his silly answer.

They settle in her living room around the warm kotatsu and set up the meal on the table top. She really loved her kotatsu during winter. Tokyo rarely if ever got a spattering of snow but the air could still be mighty cold. So many nights were spent with her legs curled under its heater with a good book before bed. This wasn’t the first time the best friends shared a meal on Christmas Eve together, but it was the first time Natsu had brought KFC and the possibilities were not lost on Lucy.

It’s been awhile since she’d had KFC, not that she didn’t like their food, the restaurant was just out of the way for her. And she knew it wasn’t close to his apartment either, so maybe Natsu just felt like eating it. No, that didn’t make sense because he had to preorder the meal which meant it had been planned. Lucy pushed away her logical debate and filed it away for later. They make small talk while they eat their dinner, catching up on work or friend related topics. It wasn’t as if they didn’t speak often because they did, but sitting down and relaxing like this was less frequent in recent months. Lucy was working for a magazine and Natsu had landed a good job at an import/export company.

“Did you hear, Levy’s pregnant with twins.”

Natsu almost spit out his food. “Twins?! What was Gajeel packing to knock her up with two babies?!”

“You goof! That’s not how it works!” Now it was Lucy’s turn to cough out a laugh. “She told me twins just run in her family.”

“So, when’s she due?”

“It’s still the first trimester, so 6 more months I think.”

“Wow...” Natsu sat back in contemplation. “Our group is really growing up, huh? Gray and Juvia got married last year. Erza and Jellal are engaged. And now Levy’s pregnant.”

“Yeah,” Lucy looked down, smiling, thinking. They were all in their late-20s now, and time really was flying by. “We’re all growing up.”

“You know, Lucy I’d been thinking about that a lot lately.”

She looked back up to see a serious expression on Natsu’s face that sent heat flooding to her cheeks. “A-About what?” Lucy asked, though the question almost died on her tongue over anxiety of its answer.

“The idea of settling down... getting married...” he reached over the table and took her by the hand. “And a family... do you ever think about these things?”

“I, um— sometimes...”

“Remember what I told you about once I had a good job?”

“Yeah...”

“Well, now I have a stable job, with good benefits, so I thought maybe, it’s time.”

“For?”

“To take this friendship to the next level.” Natsu pushed a small jewelry box along the table surface towards her. “I know I’m skipping a step, but Lucy Heartfilia, you’ve always been the only girl for me.”

Lucy gasped. This was definitely sudden and they haven’t even kissed before! Skipping a step? That’s an understatement. “I-Is that what I think it is?!” He opened the box and there it was, a shiny gold band with a small diamond. Her eyes widen, “oh my goodness, it is...” she looked up at him. “Natsu?”

“The only Christmas gift I wish for this year, is a yes. Please say yes Lucy.”

Moisture clouded her crinkled eyes. It was sudden, true, but that didn’t mean she hadn’t dreamt of it either. Who needed dating when they already knew so much about each other? “Yes,” Lucy smiled. “Yes, I’ll marry you Natsu Dragneel.”

He moved from around the table closer to Lucy, then took the ring and placed it on her finger. Natsu leaned in and kissed her lips, almost moaning at the contact. “Kami, I’ve wanted to do that for so long!”

“Idiot, you could have done it ages ago!” She smacked his shoulder playfully. “And leave it to you to propose over a KFC dinner. Such a romantic at heart.”

He chuckled and grinned. “I try my best.”

This time it’s Lucy who leaned in and kissed Natsu soft and slow, letting their lips linger as she pulled away with a smile. “And your best is good enough for me.”
