Isaac Worthington
Finding home au's own little menace.
Tumblr media
I have this idea for a kid. But like im not sure if Warren is the kid type. And then I thought okay well maybe he's a clone? Like a clone of laura with his dna spliced with Warrens? His names Isaac. Hes got wings and is a edgy little shit, kind of like a young Daken? But he dosn't have a healing factor and his talons are retractable unlike sabertooths who can grow and sharpen his at will but I think he has to file them to get them normal (thats why he scratches trees so much in the comics i think or hes just a territorial fuck)
I recently read all new wolvering and x 23 and it mentions that in the future gabby has kids but not Laura, and Warren is her boyfriend through all of the all new wolverine series (that I know of) so I thought it would be cool if some evil guy was like "What if I tried to give the wolverine wings?" And he ends up making a bunch of kids who dont survive because the dna won't take properly, and then he ends up with a single successful subject.
And that's Issac, aka Subject 15543 which to Wade's dyslexia kinda looks like I S S A and two backwards C's on top of each other.
I dont see her finding a kid who's spliced with her boyfriends dna and just... abandoning them, though. You know? Like Gabs. She couldn't leave gabby.
It would go from "Oh I have a younger brother" quickly to "This is my son and ill stab you"
I love the idea of him being feral and hurt, only trusting a couple people and then florishing when hearing stories from worst wolverine and sparing with Wade.
"Oooh little birdies got SPUNK! But youre too slow baby bird. Put those wings to use!" And he gets frustrated because his wings were bound most days so hes still learning how to use them. Theyre mainly for bluff purposes now. Fluffing them up and stuff.
I love the idea of some mangy feral kid jumping at Wade with his wings out and claws out, teeth bore and snarling only for him to stand there and stifle a laugh. "Oh, you're ADORABLE! So what's your deal, chickadee?"
And then have the kids make fun of him with the name Icarus cause he always tries stuff that makes him bleed everywhere (so badly that his wings stain red, theyre dyed black) until he finally decides that, yeah. That'll be his hero name.
Tumblr media
Little guys like "I am vengence, I am darkness, I am- Vulture!" And wade is clapping like "oooh nice. Vulture! Whos bed time is 8:30 on school nights! So fierce!" Like Gabby, His name would go from Vulture to Icarus like how she has Honeybadger and then Scout.
I can so see Issac jumping at Leo and growling at him, and Leo, whos literally a lion mutant, Jumps back and does the high pitched scared mew thing, fluffs up and sticks his claws into Logan (cause hes his mentor) and logan just stands there like:
"......Ow..." Cause theres currently 22 claws in him right now
"Sorry! I-i got scared"
".. I can see that. Issac stop it. You're on the same team."
"Im not on a team with that LOSER"
"He's not a loser. And if you dont stop being a lone wolf, you're never going to have any frien- GASP No! I sound like scott- ewwww"
Edgy little ass is like crossing his arms and not participating in recess or gym cause "he's too cool" and "no one likes him" or "all the people I love gets hurt HMPH"
Logan is having a life criss becAUSE IS THIS REALLY HOW HE ACTED??? like holy shit he didnt realize he was acting like such a sore loser and SOOO edgey
Cherri: Hey Issac! Wanna play?
Issac: Everyone hates me because im so different
Logan: *dies of second hand embressment*
Logan, internally: Why is my grandson such a little bitch
Still playing with the idea tho. Thoughts??
Bonus:
Wade: Its all that rich boy in him
Logan: *glances at him* ....
Wade: Oh... oh logan... dont tell me..
Logan: ...Okay so MAYBE my parents were well off...
Wade: Was EVERYONES family rich but mine??
Rouge, Remy and Kurt: *start laughing in abandoned*

Debut
Tumblr media
Day 5, ft. our black-cat lucid-dreaming king. Characters belong to @lumosinlove (sorry not sorry for what I did to your favorite boy) and header belongs to @noots-fic-fests!
Yesterday's movie: It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! (1966)
TW for mentioned movie-murder (nobody actually dies)
Regulus spared the glass double-doors hardly a glance before wrinkling his nose. It was hot out, sticky and steamy, and the direct sun pummeling the entire courtyard reeked of early September. Busy chatter ran rampant around him between flashes of color and blurry faces.
“I’m dead,” Regulus said decisively.
Next to him, Leo rolled his eyes and caught his tennis ball on the downswing. “You haven’t even been to first period.”
“This—” Regulus gestured at the main building, blindingly bright and stuffier than any high school had the right to be. “This is hell. Ergo, dead.”
“Tell me again in pre-calc and I’ll believe you.”
“You tested out of pre-calc,” Regulus reminded him, laying back on the hood of Leo’s car. The blue paint was unspecific and unassuming, almost black in certain lights. “And that’s an ugly sweater you’d never wear.”
Grey cotton switched to thick stripes by the time he looked at Leo next; the stupid silver chain remained around his neck. Leo frowned down at himself. “I like this sweater.”
“Hmm.” The characters didn’t tend to care whether Regulus interacted with them much or not. The plot plodded on until he shook himself awake or the blare of an alarm did it for him. It rarely came to a conclusive end.
“Natalie got a phone call last night from some weirdo on the landline,” Leo continued, tossing his ball back up in the air. “They were talking about…I dunno, I think he was asking her questions? Sounded like a guy, anyway.”
“Horrifying.”
“Kasey’s going over tonight with Finn’s brother to keep her company.”
Regulus stretched his back against the windshield and looked to the vast sky. No matter how far he tilted his head back, the old tin roof was always visible. It was a mutated version of his memories—he hadn’t tried very hard to remember what it looked like from the outside. Sirius had excelled there. Every professor remembered his name.
A thread on his baggy jeans was coming loose. If he allowed the dream to progress, Leo would no doubt call him later to inform him, distraught, that Kasey and Finn’s brother (whose name slipped Regulus’ mind constantly) and probably Natalie had died in some explosively gory fashion. It would be distressing despite the fallacy of it all, he’d drag himself awake, and then it would be three o’clock in the morning and he would be sweaty with adrenaline. Regulus had enjoyed the party at Leo’s new house. He’d prefer not to pay the cost of attendance (a rare seasonal hangover) before he absolutely had to.
Denim-on-denim warned him of a new presence before he could actively pick a new story. “O’Hara.”
“Babe, is he bothering you?” Finn’s voice dragged and drawled with California haze. Under his arm, Tremblay narrowed his eyes at Regulus. His bubblegum gave a violent pop.
“Not too bad,” Leo said playfully.
Did Finn even own a denim jacket? God, he probably did. Even Regulus’ imagination couldn’t have pinned something that specific from nothing. Maybe he should just let the rest of this murderous Riverdale-ass nonsense play out in its original form to punish that fashion nightmare.
“Can you wear a hoodie like a normal person?” he yawned. Apparently, he was overtired even in his sleep.
Finn fixed him with a comically disgusted look. “Why are you even here?”
Where the fuck had Regulus picked that accent from? “This is my high school,” he said. “I spent the whole night at your house, can I have some peace and quiet here?”
Logan popped another bubble. His scowl held far too little legitimate danger; if nothing else, that would have tipped Regulus off. The original outright animosity had rested much heavier on him than teenage pouting.
But there—on the steps. “Calisse de crisse,” he muttered, swinging himself down from the hood of Leo’s car.
The courtyard was almost perfect under his feet, as if he was feeling the asphalt through his old loafers. He had hated those goddamn shoes. He came to a sharp halt, right as his shadow fell across lined paper marked with meticulous, infuriating lines.
“Go away.”
Sirius blinked up at him. “Hi.”
“Stop,” Regulus insisted. “You’re not supposed to be here.”
“Why?”
“We didn’t go to high school together.” Honestly, it was so embarrassing for his brain to mix it up this badly. Valley-Girl Finn O’Hara was a nightmare in and of itself; the least his imagination could do was keep track of a timeline. “Put your physics away and leave.”
Sirius’ brow creased. “How did you know I was doing homework?”
“Unlucky guess.”
“How did you know it was—"
“Because you’re always doing your fucking physics in my nightmares!” Regulus dragged a hand down his face and gripped the back of his own neck. It felt like nothing, not even air. He squeezed his eyes shut and turned his face toward the clouds. “Yes, I understand, I hated the classes Sirius excelled in as an extension of my own complex inner world, merci, au revoir.”
When he looked down again, Sirius was gone. Remus Lupin leaned on the railing by the bay windows, looking out over the river. He had a book in one hand and a bloody knife in the other.
Regulus stared at him.
“No.”
It was Leo when he blinked. A dark robe and everything, and that tennis ball instead of a book. His face got a little fuzzy in profile, but cleared up when he looked at Regulus head-on.
Regulus tipped his head back and forth. “Better.”
He walked with Leo through the never-ending halls. Some were direct rip-offs of his actual high school, down to the navy lockers and their silver buckles. Others had been borrowed: a staircase from elementary school, a music room from Steinhardt, the artificial glow of Sirius’ basement skating rink around a corner. His stomach swooped at the sight of the broken dumbwaiter he and Sirius had used for hide and seek, and he ground his teeth hard.
He had his loafers on. His khakis were tight on his thighs. Leo’s footsteps made no sound.
“I think you’re supposed to be a serial killer,” Regulus noted on their third circuit of the second floor. “With a mask and everything.”
“Oh.” Leo sounded almost disappointed. “I mean, I could?”
“I might just be bad at imagining that.”
“Should’ve stuck with Lupin,” Leo agreed.
“I can go off and find him—”
“Don’t leave me here,” Leo groaned, walking backward for a few floppy steps that made him look more like himself than he had the whole time.
Regulus huffed. “Neither of you pose much of a danger to me.”
“I think we do, in a way.”
--
No.
The thought was forceful enough to pull Regulus to the surface. He exhaled hard, blinking fast until his left eye decided to get with the program and open properly.
The stove’s electric clock told him it was just past two in the morning. Not bad.
He sighed. His feet, tangled in the fresh sheets Leo had laid out for him, still felt too compressed. That explained the loafers. He could get up for a few minutes; make a snack, take a walk around the still-sparse main floor of the house. He didn’t hear anyone else up yet.
Or he could stay here, burrowed in a quilt that smelled lightly of magnolia. The sheets let his legs free when he stretched, still shaking off the scent of bubblegum and industrial cleaning solution. He was tired. Perhaps a little drunk, enough to dull the oncoming throbbing behind his temple. The sugar rush was long dead.
Regulus tucked his nose down into a butter-yellow square and shut his eyes. Being asleep was an exhausting business. He had too many questions. There was too much to nitpick. Too much psychoanalysis to avoid.
The sheer audacity of Leo to pull some therapy trick in Regulus’ own dream. As if he wouldn’t be aware of it, as if he’d fall into the trap that easily. Regulus muffled a frown in the quilt. If Leo, the real one, was an actual danger to anything but the occasional low doorframe, he wouldn’t be on the foldout in the first place. Really, it was just lazy writing.
Do better, Regulus thought as he shuffled deeper into his cocoon. From the top, this time.

humbly asking you for more info on leo ortiz (if you want to ofc!) because everything i hear about him makes me fall more in love
Humbly (but elaborately) answering!!! I love my son - the fact that i advertised for his death to my GM non-withstanding, ignore that.
Leo Ortiz aka Starbright was my character in a game of Masks: A New Generation that is run by my dear friend @vin-ill. (he doesn't post all that much on here but he's a creative genius and I stand by that as his friend, dm, and player).
For those unfamiliar, Masks is a ttrpg based on the 'Powered by the Apocalypse System' (pbta for short). The main draw is that you play a teenage superhero. You are figuring out who you are, who you want to be, and what others (adults especially) want you to be - and whether you want that too.
the TL;DR about Leo is that he's a hypocrite, he never wanted to be a hero, is deeply self-sacrificing, kind of aloof and a dick but cares so much. And that he loves his brother despite everything.
If you want to long version on Leo's history, then take a peek below.
Leonardo Nathaniel Osborn aka Bryce Brilliant started out as the 'Star' playbook. Playbooks aren't like dnd classes, the idea is that you play an archetype. In this case the concept of the Star was being a Hero Influencer, who has an adoring fanbase.... but also obligations that come with that.
Tumblr media
(above is the first page of the star playbook I had customised with my own art of Leo :D)
Before being a hero, Leo was a child-actor. When he came out of a car accident with light based powers, his mother created the hero persona 'Bryce Brilliant'. She was his manager and being a hero was just another role he played. His half-brother Logan (older) had been jealous and spiteful of this, he wanted powers, he wanted to be a hero.
When teaming up with a couple of other kids to save the day, his mother insisted they become a superhero team (aka the other players). Their team name was the Bryce Brilliants. They even had a Shoe brand sponsorship.
Tumblr media
(first drawing of the entire squad, from left to right: Sam aka Saber, Leo aka Bryce Brilliant, Carey aka Carry, Sky Lee aka Justice)
In the team Leo first learned how to have proper friends teammates, and see being a hero as more than another role to play. Eventually he met Johanna Ortiz, the women he got his powers from.... What you thought they awakened naturally? No his mother bought these powers, she owns the Brilliant name, she owns the right to these powers. Powers that were grafted onto her son.
This is the moment Leo changed playbooks from the Star to the Protege.
The Protege playbook gives the player an NPC who is their mentor, they have a label they embody, and that they deny. (labels are like stats, but they are constantly shifting and are about how you see yourself vs how others see you). If you wanted to play a Robin type character you would probably pick the Protege. This is when he took on the superhero name Starbright.
Tumblr media
(above is a screenshot of the Protege mentor labels, to give you an idea)
Leo moved out of his mother's home mansion, and moved into Johanna's trailer. It was quite the culture shock for the boy who would've unironically have said; "I mean it's one banana michael, what could it cost? ten dollars?".
He didn't get to stay a protege for long, as only a few session after he got uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Posessed.
Long story.
TL;DR: power dampening crystal was ground up and put into the water supply. Mixed with an entity that my GM called a 'Hydra-nt' (hydra creature made of water). So it became somewhat sentient and started serious shit all across the city. I failed a roll so fucking bad my guy got possessed by said goo and booked it into the direction of the Gotham to our Metropolis.
The team finished saving the city before going to the Worst City Imagineable(tm) to stage a Leo themed rescue. I played a character named Dr Lovelace (phd) aka Deckard Lovelace at this time, he was a child genius and earned his PHD when he was like, 12 or smth. He had mechanical limbs. i luv him. He never quite got into a hero persona but i had the name Dr Gizmo ready for him. He was the Brain playbook.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(some out of context memes from said rescue mission i found looking for smth else. David is me btw, hi.)
The team found Leo, he got exorcised with the power of friendship and this gun i found. (yk i dont remember exactly what happened, i think Carry did smth fucky with some uhhh power dust she had recently accidentally snorted which was absolutely not Deckard's fault. don't look at me)
the TL;DR of all that is that Leo was possessed by something that was aligned to one of the Five Powers That Be in this universe. Specifically he was possessed by the embodiment of the Abyss, emptiness. We ruled that going from Nothing to once again Everything that Leo was before changed his powers (and him) fundamentally. From then on Leo was the Nova, playbook. (also I made a tiktok about Leo not actually being dead at the time - wow did that not age well. not because it sucks, i still think its funny, but because he is kinda dead now)
The Nova playbook is build around the concept of having amazing godly powers, but little control. You could do everything and anything, but at what cost? Leo's powers become more cosmic than simply light based as a result. (smth smth becoming the sun itself, instead of the light it sheds)
Tumblr media
(also HI obligatory new superhero outfit after life changing events 💛💛💛. The jacket used to belong to Johanna 💛💛💛)
A bunch of stuff happened after they got back. Leo changed his name from 'Leonardo Nathaniel Osborn' to 'Leo Ortiz', to officially move away from his birth-mom and align himself with his adoptive one. He broke into prison a little bit to talk and start the healing process with his brother Logan (oh yeah forgot to mention Logan was briefly a villain and Leo got him send to prison). Met a new teammate (an old player returning with a new character). Somehow kept collecting and aligning himself with the OTHER 5 powers that be, which I wasn't even actively trying for yknow. And yknow, fought a religious organisation for a bit.
One that Deckard is totally not responsible for gaining power, nooooo.... Don't look at me. (he just gave their leader a back of magical power dust in exchange for getting information on Leo during the rescue mission ok. it's fine, literally....)
At the climax of that arc, said leader tried to achieve godhood. And using the Nova's 'Moment of Truth', Leo took all of said power inside himself. Completing the 'powers that be' collection in the process, and shooting up far into space where he's become this kind of... shining star.
Tumblr media
The moment of truth is an un-lockable playbook feature, where the player takes brief control of the narrative using the guidance of a written out blurb on the playbook. The above image is the MoT for the Nova playbook.
In his death he has created a new power in the universe - the power of friendship. No im not fucking kidding. The list is now: Potential, Tempest, Abyss, Sublime, Architects, and Leo with the power of friendship (and this gun i found).
Figuring he was too volatile to survive very long, he wrote letters to important people in his life. Letters I actually wrote out and printed, and were handed out during play to Players and NPC alike. They were read aloud and it was all very emotional, tears were shed.
A small excerpt from my favorite letter, written for Leo's brother:
Hi Logan, I love you. We stopped saying that to each other at some point. I can’t recall exactly when, I just knew you stopped saying it back so I did too. You know my friend Fleur? Her mother was pretty fucking bad too, and her older brother took her and ran one day. Sometimes I wish either of us had the courage to do the same when we were kids. I’m glad we kind of got there in the end. I’m sorry we lost so much time. I'm sorry we won’t have any more. (the letter continues here but its too long for this already long post)
Leo holds a very very special place in my heart. And he's like, super fucking dead now, and I wanted that to happen. Biting myself for that, evil bastard who does that to a character ಥ_ಥ.
If you got this far, thank you for reading! I love you 💛💛

Have some (late) Christmas cheer. Finn would make a great HAB (husband and boyfriend) during his retirement!
All credits to @lumosinlove !!
Finn waved a hand to the guards outside of the players box, flashing his pass and quickly jogging to the door. He was panting a bit, running late from a department meeting at school, and stumbled through the doorway a bit. Pascal and Celeste Dumais turned to look at him, both with matching amused expressions, as he made his way to his seat.
“Hi, hi, sorry I’m late,” he breathed. He gave Celeste a kiss on the cheek and clasped Dumo’s hand. “Did I miss warm-ups? We had a meeting after school, last one before the Christmas break, and it went way over.”
“Ouais,” Pascal said. “Puck drop in a couple.” His eyes were mischievous. “You know, it’s okay if you’re not here for warm-ups every time. Your boys look good.”
“Yeah, but I didn’t give them a good luck kiss.”
Celeste snorted slightly. “They’ll be fine, Finn.”
He nudged her gently. “You don’t know that. Logan gets very upset when he doesn’t get a good luck kiss.”
Pascal was shaking his head. “He’s got you wrapped around his finger, mon fils.”
Celeste scuffed the back of his head. “As if I don’t have you in the same position.”
Finn watched as Dumo’s eyes lit up and he leaned over to kiss the side of her head. “Ouais, you do.” He nudged his chin towards the ice. “Allez, puck drop.”
Sure enough, the players were taking to the ice for the start of the game. Leo was in goal, and Finn watched him jump up and down a few times to warm up his legs. Logan was on the outside of the circle, bodying up to an Anaheim player, while Sirius took the face-off. Another forward, a young guy by the name of Ethan Binesi, was their other winger, eyes intently on where Sirius’ stick was splayed across his knees. It was a trip, still, seeing Logan in a Lions jersey again. He’d taken back the number 10, which looked just as gorgeous on him now as it had on his first Harvard jersey. He saw Logan look to Leo briefly, give a nod- I love you- and then he readied his stick. The ref hovered the puck above the dot and the game began.
Sirius won the face-off, immediately snapping it back to Logan, who shot off and stick handled his way around an Anaheim player. He had his head up, searching for a lane, finding Binesi who had faked out his own guy on the opposite side and was hanging out by their offensive zone dot. Logan sent the puck flying onto the Binsei’s stick blade for a slap shot, but the Anaheim goalie blocked it.
It was a physical game, Logan and Thomas getting sent to the box after someone got a little too close to Leo, who held his own spectacularly in the five on three that resulted. Finn couldn’t help but be absolutely smitten as he watched them, as he always was when he got to come and see them play. He loved the game, he missed it, and he was happy teaching, incredibly so- but there was something else about being able to spectate his husbands like he was, being able to finally watch them together after so long of Logan being apart from them for the majority of the year. They were all deliriously happy, sparking that same insatiable feeling they’d had when they’d gotten together, engaged, married- Finn’s heart stopped in his chest every time he saw their shoes paired together by the door, every time he looked up from grading at the table and found Logan sitting on the counter, keeping Leo company while he cooked them dinner. He wanted them forever- which, he guessed, was already implied by the whole marriage thing. But he wanted to marry them over and over again, preferably every day, if he had his way. He’d dance with them like he had at their wedding, spinning Leo around the dance floor by his hips, holding Logan close during softer songs. He’d kiss them like he had at their ceremony, when he had taken each of their faces in between his palms and kissed them so deeply he had almost knocked them over, even Leo, who had a few inches on him.
Finn watched them shake hands with the other team after a demanding third period. They’d won 1-0, a shutout for Leo and an assist for Logan, but it wasn’t much of a lead. Logan would inevitably want to seethe a bit in the car, Leo going over everything that could have gone wrong that would have made them give up their lead. That was one thing Finn didn’t miss about hockey: the constant reviewing every little thing he’d done and feeling like the weight of the entire team was on his shoulders. He found it easier, though, to help Logan and Leo let loose from those experiences, having gone through it himself. He kept finding creative ways to take their minds off of it- asking Leo to read him his students’ essays out loud so he could fairly grade them, rubbing Logan’s feet while he colored in an adult coloring book (he’d really taken to them recently). He’d gotten really good at mocktails, too, so when his husbands were in between games or intense training sessions, they didn’t have to drink alcohol but could still enjoy the taste and the conversation that came with Finn mixing them drinks.
He gave Pascal and Celeste each a hug, waving good-bye to other family members in the box, and scurried down to go to the locker room. When he entered, it felt a little like he’d never left. There were a few new players, a few not. Sirius, Remus, and Thomas each came up to give him a hug, and little once-rookie Cole held out his fist for Finn to bump. Even Kuny was still there- although, it seemed like he was never going to leave. He was almost a permanent part of the structure of Gryffindor Stadium at that point.
He spotted Logan and Leo, stalls side-by-side, at the other end from where he’d entered, and walked up, placing a hand on Leo’s head as he was unlacing his skates. He jerked his head up in initial surprise, which softened immediately upon seeing Finn. His blue eyes twinkled out at Finn from his otherwise flushed and sweaty face. “Hi, sweetheart. How are you?”
“I’m sorry,” Finn said. He pressed a hard kiss to Leo’s forehead. “I’m sorry, my meeting ran over, and I wanted to be here to kiss you good luck, but it went so late-”
“Sh, it’s okay, honey,” Leo said. He looked amused and leaned up to kiss Finn properly. Finn felt the tension in his body melt away and he rested his hands on Leo’s strong shoulders. “I’m happy to kiss you whenever you have time.”
“All the time,” Finn said, nodding eagerly. “Preferably all the time. What do you say we all quit working and just make out all day, every day?”
Leo blushed. “Well.”
“Ouais, I like that idea,” Logan chirped. He was smirking when Finn turned to him, even as he leaned over to kiss Leo’s cheek. “Especially if it makes you blush like that.”
Leo rolled his eyes but was smiling at Logan. “Stop that.”
“Non, non. You can’t return me.” He kissed Leo’s cheek again, then his lips. “Forever.”
Finn’s heart jolted at the words, even at Logan’s sarcastic tone. “You hear that, Knut? Grumpy says forever, so I guess that's the verdict.”
“Non, I’m not grumpy,” Logan retorted. He looked at Finn petulantly. “And if I am, it’s only because I missed out on my good luck kiss.”
“I’m sorry.” Finn pouted. “Forgive me, baby? It’s almost Christmas.”
Logan smiled, his nose scrunching. “Ouais. Bisou.”
Finn complied, taking Logan’s face in his hands like he’d been thinking about doing all game and tilting it back as he kissed him hard. Logan smiled against his mouth and rested a hand on Finn’s side, rubbing up and down slowly. When they pulled apart, Finn kissed his forehead and looked down at him. “Better?”
“Ouais,” Logan said with a soft smile. He went back to unlacing his skates. “But I think we would’ve won by more if you’d kissed me before the game.”
Leo snorted. “Right. Because that’s the reason we hardly had any net.”
“Sh, nut,” Logan said. “No jinxes.”
“What jinxes?”
“The superstitions.”
“I thought we’d established that we didn’t adhere to our superstitions, and that’s why we only scraped by?”
“Okay,” Finn interrupted. They both looked up at him suddenly. “No more hockey talk. Time to shower, home, dinner, sex, and bed.”
Sirius, who was in the stall next to Logan, choked a little on the water he was sipping. “Jesus, O’Hara,” he said. “I did not miss your locker room talk.”
Finn stuck his tongue out at him. “You’re just as bad with Loops and you know it.”
Sirius rolled his eyes but didn’t deny it. “Stop distracting the boys while they get undressed.” He seemed to realize what he had said the second he said it. “Wait-”
Finn’s eyebrows shot up with a mischievous grin. “With absolute pleasure.” He turned to his husbands, who were watching him with fond smiles. “You heard the captain. Get undressed, let’s go.”
Sirius just sighed roughly and went to the showers.
Leo smacked Finn lightly on the hip as he stood up to remove the rest of his padding. “You’re such a mence, you know that?”
Finn just watched appreciatively as more of his body was revealed with each article taken off. “You love me.” He grinned wider. “You married this menace baby.” He put his hands on either side of Leo’s hips, now free of everything except his thin Under Armour layer. “No take backs.”
“Hm, I’m not so sure about that,” Leo said, but he kissed Finn gently. “I’m going to shower, then we will go home.”
“And then we’ll have dinner, and then-”
“D’accord, rouge,” Logan laughed. “Ouais, sounds good.”
“Yay! Yay, yay, yay, my favorite.”
“Tu est fou, chérie.” Logan let out a sigh as he pulled off the rest of his clothes, too, then grabbed a towel from his locker. “D’accord, we’ll be right back.” He kissed Finn’s shoulder as he passed. “Stay out of trouble, oui?”
“No promises, babe, you know that.”
Logan just pinched his hip as he and Leo walked to the showers.
***
An hour later, when Finn walked into the living room after his own shower, he encountered his boys not following his ‘no more hockey’ instructions.
“Ouais,” Logan was saying, sat at the counter. He was talking to Leo, who was working on dinner. “We weren’t maintaining our triangle shape in the attacking zone, Le, it just made it-”
“Whoa,” Finn interrupted. He wrapped his arms around Logan’s shoulders to squeeze. “Time out. I thought I said no more hockey talk?”
Leo, at least, tried to look a little sheepish. “We were just-”
“Nope, nope. You already reviewed it all with coach, I’m sure of it.” He pressed a hard kiss to Logan’s cheek, the muscles tense with a smile under his lips. “Home time is for relaxation. Home time is Finn-time.”
Leo laughed as he stirred something on the stove. “Finn-time?”
“Mmhm,” Finn affirmed. “Because I don’t see you all day, so home time is for hanging out with Finn, eating dinner with Finn, cuddling with Finn, and doing you-know-what with Finn.”
Leo’s eyes were bright as he looked over at him. “You-know-what? What’s that exactly?”
“You know exactly what that is, my beautiful nutter butter baby.” He rested his chin on Logan’s shoulder. “So no more hockey talk tonight. Just Finn-time.”
“Ouais,” Logan sighed. He leaned his head against Finn’s. “Sounds good.”
“Finn and Logan time,” Leo whispered. He leaned across the counter to press a kiss to each of their foreheads. When he pulled back, he was smiling so gently at them that Finn thought he would seep into the floorboards. “My favorite.”

Dahlia. 10
Tumblr media
sorry about the spam posting i'm trying to get caught up. curses to everyone who voted "update dahlia" on the make me write tag
I keep posting these and forgetting the link lmao -Ao3 link
-It's the Leo backstory chapter!!
-I spent a whole goddamn hour trying to make sure this lined up with the timeline
Segment one- 7/29/2008 -The twins are five, the triplets are about three months old -Using Leo's full name felt like I was writing an entirely different character -My confession is that this chapter was written back in May, and I didn't learn to play go fish until two weeks ago when a six-year-old beat me four times (she was cheating) -It's edited to make it less obvious that I didn't know how to play go fish when I was writing it. I thought it was like solitaire?? As if a game for little kids would be like solitaire ever at all?? -Olivia>>
Segment two- 4/2/2009 -Twins are six now -They just got stolen -"She could count on one hand the amount of times she'd even seen her aunt, and that was impressive, because she could count really high up." Baby Leo <3 she can count to like 80
Segment three- 4/5/2009 -Logan and Lily!!! Love them -Logan's probably around 13, Lily's 5 -The way I forgot Logan had a sister -The way I also forgot that Lily's full name is Lilith
Segment four- 4/10/2009 -OH THANK GOD it was physically paining me to write Leonie -(chewing on drywall) they gave each other nicknames and they kept those nicknames even though Leo forgot everything else and-
Segment five- 5/14/2011 -The twins are eight now -Logan, Jasmine, and Lily all left and if the twins hadn't forgotten then they'd have grown up thinking that they were dead anyways :(
Segment six- 5/30/2011 -Leo was out for like two weeks -Emily (derogatory) -Oh No
Segment seven- 9/29/2011 -The twins are color-coded red and green -THEY'RE BOTH AFRAID OF LOUD NOISES AND THEY DONT REMEMBER WHY GEGEGRGRGGR -Autistic Leo real -So it's canon that their magic develops after a big stress and Leo's was after one day at school and honestly-
Segment eight- 10/23/2011 -Their ninth birthday!! -Kai debut the littlest guy ever -He's like. eight i think
Segment nine- 10/17/2013 -It says age ten but it's a week before they're eleven -Leo got into a fight for attention -emily for the love of god pay attention to your hostage she's about to develop a personality disorder -Marcy's brief cameo <3
Segment ten- 11/19/2014 -The twins are twelve -The twins are no longer friends also -Leo almost gets arrested -"That was what she wanted, wasn't it?" NO -How obvious is it that i don't know card games
Segment eleven- 6/17/2016 -The twins are thirteen -Girl you GOT him!! he's fucking dead!! that was unnecessary!!! -ASPD Leo is real
Segment twelve- 10/31/2018 -They're sixteen -Forget-me-not canon
Segment thirteen- 1/14/2019 -Leo's dynamic with the kids >>> -"Snowmen, I'm familiar with the concept." -Leo says "hold your horses" -ELLIOT!! Alive and well!! He demands apple cider -Sam wants to be like his sister :((
Segment fourteen- 3/20/2019 -I'M SORRY!! -Leo's beef with Jaxon sort of explained -Leo's just trying to find someone to blame
Segment fifteen- 4/20/2019 -The fight :( -Leo leaves
Segment sixteen- 5/11/2019 -Ryan's nightmare but Leo is too Leo to know what to do about it -"Silently, she cursed the weather for doing this to him."
Segment seventeen- 10/23/2019 -Coincidentally the seventeenth segment is the twin's seventeenth birthday -Hope you're excited for the Cass backstory chapter when I parallel the shit out of this
Segment eighteen- 6/14/2020 -They're still only seventeen -Anyways: the present -Dylan and Ryan are basically possessed by Elliot right now so that's cool -Leo has to deal with it tho -There was a deleted segment where Leo used to play softball to explain the baseball bat she uses, but I don't know shit about softball and didn't want to try. Anyways, Leo played softball in 7th grade -Leo finally calls the others, does not mention the part about the kids being possessed

Ok so idk if your taking requests at the time but if so could you maybe do a Finn-centric fic? Preferably after they got together cus my poor heart can only take so much it’s just cus I see a lot of fics revolving around le/lo and even tho I love them there really isn’t enough fics about my boy finn or maybe there are and I just read them all like 3 times lol anyways could it be hurt/comforty but if you can’t really write that or it’s not your style you can chose the genre I’m just projecting 😄
ANON!!!!! this request has been sitting in my inbox for so long and I am extremely ashamed. I love writing Finn so much but I quite simply couldn't come up with anything until one random day, inspiration hit and my brain spit this out. It's fairly longer than what I ususally write and it is *completely* unbeta-ed but I hope you like it nevertheless!
All credits to @lumosinlove for her wonderful wonderful characters (and HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAZ!!! i hope you have the best day <3)
title is from a song of the same name by Florence+the machine

All this (and heaven too)
~
Finn sighed dramatically, using his fingers to pull the dripping cloth from the warm water he’d drowned it in.
“Lo, sweetheart, you’ve got to stop doing this.”
Lo glared up at Finn through his lashes, the effect completely offset by the way he’d wrapped his arms and legs around Finn from his spot on the counter. “Stop doing what?”
Finn huffed a tired laugh, leaning forward to gently rest his head against Logan’s shoulder.
“Lo.”
“I know, I know. But Harz, the way he ploughed right into Nutty? I couldn’t just…..let him go.”
Finn pulled back, carefully running his free hand through Logan’s hair. He’d seen the hit. He knew exactly how Logan had felt. The striker had slammed into Leo at full speed, knocking him right into the net, the both of them sprawling over the ice.
Finn’s heart had stopped right in his damn chest.
He’d gone straight for Leo, skating faster than he’d thought he could. Logan on the other hand….
Logan had gone straight for the striker.
Before Finn could even process what had happened, Logan was on the guy, gloves on the ice and teeth bared, a look of pure rage on his handsome face.  He’d swung so fast, the other man hadn’t even had a chance to block it. One thing had led to another, and the last thing Finn could remember was the spray of blood when the guy had gotten in a particularly good hit. Loops had pulled them apart, shoving the striker for good measure.
It was all sort of hazy after that.
Finn had walked into the PT’s room to find Lolo sitting there with a purple cheekbone and blood dripping down his lip that just didn't seem to be stopping. He’d damn near died for the second time that evening. Logan had smiled weakly at him, grimacing when the movement pulled at his split lip. Finn winced in return, feeling the phantom throb of hurt echo on his own mouth. He glanced around the room, making sure they were alone, before he moved to stand between Logan’s legs, gently cupping his face between his palms.
“Lolo, sweetheart? You okay?”
Logan grimaced a little, shooting a quick look at the door before wrapping his arms around Finn’s waist. He sighed, the sound releasing a heavy weight from his shoulders
“I’m fine, how’s Leo?”
“Don’t ‘I’m Fine’ me; and Leo’s okay…a little bruised and shaken up, but he’s okay”
Logan met Finn’s gaze with fire in his eyes
“I’m going to kill him.’
Finn huffed a little laugh, running his fingers through Logan’s hair, rubbing soothing circled into his scalp with blunt nails.
“Darling, you play for the NHL. We can’t afford a scandal like that.”
Logan leaned back into Finn’s shoulder, the fabric of Finn’s shirt muffling his voice. “We’re rich. We can bury him.”
Finn leaned down to press a kiss to the mop of hair on his collarbone, humming against the curls as he said. “Damn right we could. Don’t you go thinking you’re doing it without me though.”
“Deal. If we go down, we go down together.”
“What, And leave me to bail your sorry asses out of jail? No thanks.”
Finn turned to find Leo leaning against the door frame, carrying three duffels, as he smiled softly at them. “Ready to go home, mes amis?”
“Leo,” Finn breathed, the tension in his body melting away at the sight of his sweetheart standing in front of him. It took him all of two strides to be standing in front of Leo, carefully pulling him down for a hug.
“Oh sweetheart, you okay?”
“Just a little bruised, Lexie said I should be good in a few days if I ice it.”
Finn choked back tears, kissing Leo’s forehead instead of replying. Leo had hummed, leaning into the warmth of Finn’s body, letting his boyfriend grab their duffels before looking over at Logan.
“With all the blood you’ve got in your mouth, you’re giving count drac a run for his money.”
Logan rolled his eyes, huffing affectionately. “Shut up. C’mere.”
Leo giggled at the grabby hands Logan was making at him, catching his wrists in a gentle grip before pressing a kiss to his fingers.
“I can’t believe you let him bloody you up like that Lo, what do you even train for then?”
Logan had gasped. “Hey! I was defending your honour! Why don’t you spar against me sometime and we’ll see how well you do?”
Leo hummed in response, leaning into Logan’s embrace. “Hmmmm, I’d much prefer to come watch you spar to see my boyfriend all hot and sweaty rather than have him knock me on my ass.”
Finn had laughed at that, leaning against the door frame as he hefted the three duffels higher on his shoulder, ignoring the twinge of pain that shot down his neck and back. He felt some of the tension melt out of his muscles as he saw his boyfriends laughing, teasing, safe. He hadn’t realised just how worried he’d been until he’d seen them both together, both relatively alright.
He raised a hand to rub at the headache forming at his temple, sucking in a sharp breath at the soreness in his muscles.
“Ready to go home, boys?”
Leo and Logan turned, Leo carefully helping Logan off the bed. Logan smiled, wincing at the split in his lip.
“I have got to stop doing that, merde.”
Leo laughed, tousling Logan’s hair. Finn’s heart melted at the sight. He switched off the lights, smiling into the darkness as he shut the door behind him.
“C’mon boys, let's get you home.”
~
Finn blinked back the pain from his eyelids as he finished cleaning up Logan’s lip, leaning in to press a feather-light kiss to the wound.
“There, all done.”
“We still on for homicide later?”
Finn laughed, the motion immediately sending a spike of pain through his head and neck.
“Only if you promise to be good Tremz.”
Logan hummed, leaning forward to wrap his arms and legs around Finn, pulling him in close.
“For you Harz? Anything.”
“Mmmm” Finn hummed, his lips brushing Logan’s before he gave in to the impossible temptation, capturing Logan’s lips in a sweet, gentle kiss.
Logan’s smile was a small, secret thing, pressed against the warmth of Finn’s mouth as he slipped his hand under Finn’s sweater.
Pulling away seemed like a herculean task.
“As much as I wish I could do this forever, I did promise our boyfriend I’d bring him ice for his ribs.
Logan huffed in faux annoyance, lightly pinching Finn’s side before untangling their limbs.
“Go on then O’Hara. Only cause you promised.”
Finn dropped one last kiss on Logan’s forehead before heading to the kitchen. He grabbed the ice packs for Leo, surveying the kitchen before he switched off the lights.
He found Leo sprawled face-down in their bed, his face snuggled into Finn’s pillow. Finn giggled a little when he spotted his mickey mouse boxers peeking out from under Leo’s faded t-shirt.
He snapped the waistband gently as he climbed into bed, pushing Leo’s hair out of his face to kiss his cheek.
“Hey sunshine, I got you that ice I promised.”
“Mph.”
“Need help?”
Leo nodded in response, turning on his side to let Finn get to the bruise splashed across his ribcage, already turning purple.
Finn’s heart was in his throat. He traced trembling fingers across the colours of pain splashed across his darling. If only he’d blocked the guy, or skated faster or body checked him or—
“Hey, shortcake, I’m okay.”
Finn met Leo’s eyes.
“I love you. I’m fine.”
He swallowed against the tears that threatened and let Leo pull him into a hug. And just for a second he let himself feel the fear he’d pushed to the back of his mind when he’d seen the hit.
“I love you too knutty. I love you so much.”
Leo smiled. “I know.”
Finn placed the ice pack on his boyfriend’s ribs, watching his face for any sign of pain and discomfort; relaxing minutely when he saw none.
“Sleep, darling. Logan’s on his way.”
“What about you?”
“I’ll be back in a bit, I need a drink after all that.”
Leo rolled his eyes at the cheap joke as Finn grabbed his water bottle on the way out, winking at Leo over his shoulder when he shut the door behind him.
He heard Logan join Leo; the bed creaking a little as Logan climbed in. It hit him then how much he’d drowned in this feeling, the feeling of being safe, loved, home. He found love in all the little things, his life now steeped in reverence and adoration. He felt it in the cup of coffee Leo handed him every morning, a kiss to go with it; in the way Logan coaxed the pain out of his shoulders on bad days, soothing him with his honey-sweet voice; in the way his sweethearts held him in the ethereal hours of night.
He leaned against the kitchen counter, letting his emotions wash over him, leaving him heavy and shaky at the knees. He let all the feelings he’d shoved away through the day hit him all at once, and let the tears slip down his cheeks, in the cover of the darkness he finally let himself feel.
He hadn’t realised when he’d made his way to the balcony, but the icy bite of the wind pulled him back into his own body. Finn breathed in the crisp air in wet gasps, the sobs tearing out of his throat with a vengeance.
He didn’t know how long he’d been out there, didn’t know when he’d collapsed to the floor until warm arms wrapped around his waist, a warm face pressing into his neck.
“Hush, Finn, I’ve got you. I’ve got you amour. I’ve got you.”
Finn tangled his fingers with Logan’s where they rested in his stomach. Gripping tight, holding onto safety. He felt someone’s legs slot between his, warm hands coming to cup his face.
“It’s okay cheri, we’re here. It’s okay. You’re okay.”
Finn let Leo’s voice wrap around him, calming his gasping breaths until he was sniffling into Leo’s shoulder, Leo’s finger’s holding Finn’s hand to his chest, letting Finn ground himself to the steady thump of Leo’s heart under his palm.
Finn registered Leo’s fingers stroking through his hair, Leo’s deep voice rumbling gentle nothings in his ear and pulled himself back to his body. He was here. He was real. He was home.
Leo pulled away, just enough to meet Finn’s gaze.
“You said you’d come back to bed sweetheart.”
Finn wiped his eyes. “I know, I know, I’m sor—”
Leo pressed two fingers to his lips, effectively stopping Finn mid-sentence.
“Nothing to be sorry for Fishy, don’t you apologise”
Logan hummed in agreement behind him. “You take such good care of us Harz, let us take care of you for once.”
Finn let out a shaky sigh. He nodded, the movement impeded by Leo’s t-shirt.
Before he knew it, Logan had an arm around his waist and under his legs and had picked him up like he weighed no more than a doll, Finn just wrapped his arms around his boyfriend, letting himself sink into the warmth and love of his partners.
He reached behind him to tangle his fingers with Leo’s squeezing gently.
“I love you. Thank you for getting me.”
“We love you right back Finnegan, so so much.”
Leo squeezed his fingers thrice, winking at him over Logan’s shoulder and Finn’s heart swelled in his chest. He let the fuzzy feeling spread through his body, warming him right down to his bones.
He was here; he was loved; he was home.

Spinner Dynamics:
i got a online spinning wheel and put characters in it. these are what i got
Douglas & Logan: Hmmm ive already thought about them and i do like the made-up dynamic. Logan is weirdly formal towards douglas becuase hes Leo’s family and wants to make a good impression. douglas is like “okay hi kid. i dont remember your name but leo thinks youre cool so”
Taylor & Sebastian: i heart s-1 s-3 dynamic very much so. i love them both A Lot! Seb n Taylor however have a very diff dynamic to me. seb who is evil and fucked up and taylor who has given up evilness and wants to be a good person,,,, the effects of victor krane have mentally ruined this teens
Douglas & Experion/Laura: have not thought about this and probably wont. i cannot fathom a world where they talk or even know of each others existence. expa would call douglas ugly and kick him in the shins while douglas cries
Hapax & Solar Flare II: actually.... they would probably have tea together. solar-flare insults his grandson and hapax goes “i understand he likes sweater vests”. i think sometimes its hard to remember that hapax is in his 90s. that is an elderly man.
Oliver & Reese: Hm. they have met but i cant remember a time where oliver said a word to her. thinking of a dynamic for them is hard since i think reese has like 10 minutes of screen time and half of that time was her faking a personality. idk
Marcus & Janelle: also unsure... i dont think she’d like even talking to marcus. maybe back in s1-2? when marcus is pretending to be Normal, if they had to talk to other people who knew Leo. I think at that point, they’d maybe bond over their clubs? Janelle also seems like she’d be a theater fan, maybe not a mega nerd but she goes to plays every so often.
Roman & Sebastian: EVIL..... oooohh. two evil bastards. i think theyd start out as seb trying to kill roman and roman goes “hey man what the fuck”. seb would help the shapeshifters and give reese advice on how to seduce chase.
Marcus & Jordan: marcus would attempt to play gargoyles & goblets and get confused with all the random rules. they destroy a table and jordan applauds them for the involvement into their character.
Daniel & Experion/Laura: expa does not like daniel. she thinks he looks weird. daniel still attempts to be friends and it fails every time.
lmk if you guys want more of these... i like doing this its a bit fun

cw: brief mention of past injury and past abuse
~
part i: July
I’ve been holding my breath
I’ve been counting to ten
~
The media wasn’t kind. There were network shows and blogs. Magazines and papers and podcasts. Not to mention Twitter.
Remus had heard his name on all of them, even if he wasn’t listening. It was part of Alice’s job to make sure he knew what was being said about him. It was his job to tune most of it out. Some outrage. Some elation. Some confusion.
This is my question, one podcast asked. I mean, I’m happy for Black. Lupin, too. I’m happy for the hockey world to have this happen, it’s about time, I mean, tune it, come on, and all that.
I’m confused about the, you know, ‘let’s put the PT on the roster.’ I’ve seen college clips, like, those have been released, we know that he got injured, we know all that. He’s fast, we know that, too. But a lot of guys are fast.
Just…what a move by Coach Weasley. A good move? I don’t know. I really don’t know.
Remus had always loved to run. It cleared his head. It had been one of the forms of exercise he had been able to do first once his shoulder had healed, before weights or any sort of strength training. His therapists had recommended it. Endorphins, they had said.
But Remus liked it because it was the closest he had been able to get to gliding on the ice, even when he still couldn’t stand to even look at a rink.
A good move? I don’t know. I really don’t know.
Remus was used to not knowing. He was beginning to think he thrived on it. Would he play hockey again? Would he ever find love? Would Sirius want him?
Was this really happening?
He didn’t think of dreams as coming so late, but, then again, why should dreams be put on any sort of time schedule?
Now, he banged out the screen door and onto the rickety, well-loved porch of the lake house that had been passed down through his family for years. His mother and her brothers split it up in the summer, overlapping for a week or so, and there were always little gifts left behind for each family at the trade-off. A bottle of the best maple syrup, or some of the local honey. They were small, but Remus smiled when he saw what his uncle and aunt and cousins had left for him and Sirius after his parents and Julian had given them the month of July with the house to themselves. A little flower arrangement with two hockey sticks, carved out of wood, sticking up in the middle.
Sirius had plucked one from the dirt, twirled it over in his fingers, and smiled.
“Your family will never stop surprising me.”
Green Lake was deep, prime for fishing, and gorgeous. The smell of the water, of the soil and sweet summer air was as good as home to Remus. He breathed it in now as he bent to lace up his sneakers. He could smell the fire pit that they had lit last night, one that he and Julian had roasted thousands of marshmallows over.
“I showed Jules how to roast the perfect marshmallow here,” Remus had said that first July night, leaning back against Sirius’ chest.
Sirius had blew out his burnt-black one. “Like this?”
Remus had scoffed. “No, you heathen.”
Sirius looked good here, surrounded by the woods and rusty cabin, wearing the old fleeces that never seemed to leave this place for when the sun had yet to warm the chilly mornings. Some mornings, they’d make their coffee, tangle their socked feet together on the small couch until the sun began to get high and they’d strip it all off in favor of swimsuits and sunscreen. Other mornings, Remus would rise, pressing a gentle kiss to Sirius’ sleeping face, and take to the dirt road that ran around the lake.
Sirius, just off of the hard won playoffs, needed to rest. Remus needed to train.
A good move? I don’t know. I really don’t know.
They would leave in two days for Pascal’s Cup Day celebration, and then to meet Remus’ parents, his little brother Julian, and Regulus back in Gryffindor for Sirius’ Cup Day. And August training. Remus stretched his hands to his toes and closed his eyes. A strange type of adrenaline filled him whenever he thought about practicing with the team, about the fitness tests that would come first. He’d have to prove himself again and again. He wanted to. But part of him wondered what would happen if he couldn’t.
The screen door squeaked open and shut again, and Remus jumped, looking up to find Sirius, still sleep rumpled, standing there in running shorts.
Remus laughed, reaching up to trace a pillow crease in his cheek. “You’re supposed to be sleeping in while you can.”
Sirius let out a grumbly sort of yawn and gathered his hair, long from the summer and just brushing his chin now, back into a small half-up bun.
“I can’t believe you do this before coffee.”
“Too acidic. Gives you running stitches.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Sirius sighed, and threw his arm around Remus’ shoulders as they walked up the steep driveway to the road.
Remus kissed his wrist. “I’ll miss being here with you.”
Sirius smiled. He was tan from the summer, hair dark as ever and his skin sun-kissed.
Remus leaned into his shoulder. “I mean look at you. I like seeing you this relaxed.”
Sirius bit his lip as the rounded a bend, waving at Mrs. Barrow, who was tending to her garden.
“I don’t think I knew I could be this relaxed,” Sirius admitted. “It was always train, train, train, you didn’t get a Cup, try harder.”
Remus was familiar with the notes that appeared in Sirius’ voice now from years of Sirius’ small slips in conversation, even when, to Remus, Sirius had only been they youngest captain in the league, cold and reserved from even more years of his father’s abusive, relentless attitude towards hockey and Sirius’ skills. Even when Remus had only been the team’s physical therapist, closeted, crushing on Sirius, and surprised by the cracks Sirius showed when he had gotten his ankle smashed by Severus Snape, Captain of the Slytherin Snakes—the Gryffindor Lions greatest rivalry. Pain, it had seemed, and fear of never stepping on the ice again, had given Remus his first glimpses into a different Sirius beneath it all, a boy who was filled with much more than just a need to win, but for whom the want of winning only made him love his sport, and his team, more.
“And now that you have a Cup?” Remus asked. “How’re you feeling?”
They came to the road and Sirius balanced on one foot, stretching his thigh. “Now that I have you,” he said. “I’m feeling just fine.”
Remus snorted. “Yeah, the Stanley Cup Champion part has nothing to do with it.”
Sirius laughed, but took Remus’ face between his palms. “If I didn’t have you, and I had only a Cup, all I would be doing right now is thinking about another Cup.”
Remus put a hand on his chest, fingers finding the number twelve pendant that rested there.
“Now, there’s more,” Sirius said simply, and leaned down for a tender kiss. “Like your mother’s peach pie.”
Remus punched him in the arm as Sirius laughed loudly.
“You’ll have to beat me if you want a slice of that!” Remus called as he took off.
Sirius made a wounded noise, but sprinted after him until they were side by side again.
~
“I don’t think I can leave this beach,” Leo mumbled into the lounging cabana they were spread out beneath, and Logan looked down at him from where he was reading—trying to read—one of the books Finn had given him. He didn’t know how many books Finn had tried to get him to read over the years, but he knew he never made it through more than a few pages without looking up, getting distracted, or having to go back.
“Non?” Logan asked.
Leo shook his head. “The sun. The sea. I’m in heaven.”
“What about hockey?”
“Brr.”
Logan laughed and settled back into the pillows, setting the book aside and rolling towards Leo to feel his sun-warmed back and leaned down to kiss his temple. A private beach definitely had its perks—and so did three hockey salaries.
“We’ll just stay here, then.”
They’d had a good summer. Leo’s Cup Day, Finn’s, his own, all in their hometowns and accompanied by large parades and fanfare. Logan had finally gotten to take Leo home to his sisters and parents for the first time. It had been nice to see Finn around his family again, too, after what felt like eons of avoiding him in that small gap between being at Harvard and then them both making it to the NHL, and to the Lions.
Leo’s sleepy smile up at him melted Logan like ice in the sun.
“Okay, good,” Leo said, then his eyes went behind Logan. “There’s the ghost-on-toast with our drinks.”
Logan snorted and looked up to see Finn—and Finn’s tiny blue swim shorts that he insisted weren’t see-through—walking towards them through the sand from the resort bar with a tray of drinks in his hands.
“Hey, lover-nuts,” Finn said as he set the tray down in the shade. “Got us some snacks, too. That bar tender loves me.”
“You are so pale,” Leo laughed. “I love you, though, please put more sunscreen on.”
“Keep your sandy feet off my towel,” Logan nudged Finn’s foot with his own as he reached for his drink. Finn just smiled and nodded at the book.
“How is it?” Finn asked.
Logan just looked at him.
He laughed and ran a hand through Logan’s salty, damp hair. “I know. I’ll read it to you later. I just thought you might want something for the beach!”
Logan held up his cocktail. “I have something for the beach.”
They settled back under their cabana, the thin, white linen curtains fluttering around them in the three o’clock breeze. Maybe Logan, as he closed his eyes between Leo and Finn, Leo’s hand still on his thigh, Finn’s arm pillowing the back of his neck, never wanted to leave this beach, either.
“Back to Gryffindor tomorrow,” Logan said.
“Group chat says most guys’ll be back this week,” Finn said, squinting at his phone over his sunglasses. “We gotta be back for Dumo’s, and then Cap’s Cup Day. That’ll be nice, man.”
“I like that they’re bringing it to Gryffindor Pride,” Leo said, rolling onto his back. “Should have thought of that. Or, I guess…” Leo trailed off and Logan frowned. They couldn’t do that. Not yet, at least. Leo caught Logan’s expression and rested a reassuring hand on his thigh. “I’m glad we get to go, even if its for them on the surface. That’s real thoughtful of them, you know?”
Logan nodded. It was thoughtful. When Remus and Sirius had brought it up to them, he’d found himself getting a little choked up.
“We want you guys to be able to experience that, too,” Remus had said. “If you want. No matter what you decide to do public-wise in the future.”
Finn clicked his phone off and chucked it to the side. “Hey, don’t take me off island time yet. We’ll order to the room, eat on the deck, hike up and stargaze…”
Finn rattled off the perfect list, tilting towards Logan until their lips met.
“And then we’ll go win another Cup.”
Leo and Logan punched him at the same time.
~
Thomas sat in the shade with Kasey as they watched Alex try to take on Natalie and Noelle at pool basketball.
“I really think they’re going to accidentally drown him,” Thomas said thoughtfully.
“He probably thinks that, too, and is just too competitive to stop,” Kasey replied.
Thomas laughed, and held out his beer to cheers.
“This is a nice house the O’Haras have, man,” he looked at the sparkling ocean beyond the steps and fence, and at the pool with the grill and lounge chairs. They’d only come up for the weekend, between training and visiting their own families, and before returning to Gryffindor for the season.
“Tell me about it.”
“Cheating!” Alex spluttered from the pool as Natalie put all of her weight on him to dunk him under the water. Alex pointed very seriously to the foot marker on the side tile. “We agreed from that to Thomas’ chair, I was too far away!”
“Too bad!” Noelle shouted as she made another basket.
Thomas didn’t think it was the alcohol that made him feel a little fuzzy at the edges as he looked over her in her swimsuit. She was all curves of tanned muscle, softened the summer around her stomach and arms. Thomas was a goner. But she seemed pretty gone, too, so he guessed it was all right.
“This moment’s always rough,” Kasey said softly from beside him, and when Thomas looked at him questioningly, he gestured vaguely with his beer. “The end of July. One more month, but not really. Alex’ll go back for training, you know? It’s like a trick. I always think, I get three months with these two. But it’s more like two and the first week of August.”
Thomas nodded. “I know. Noelle, too. Her training camp starts on the eight. I’m just…”
Kasey sighed in sympathy.
“At least you have Nat, you know?” Thomas said. “Not that I’m saying you have it easier, I just…”
Kasey shook his head. “I know. Believe me, I’m thankful for that every day. But…when you miss someone, you miss someone.”
Thomas nodded. “Yeah. Yeah, exactly.”
Last season hadn’t been too bad. His relationship with Noelle had been new. They only really knew FaceTime dates, and squeezed in weekend flights that sometimes left them more exhausted than sated. They had been taking it slow. Thomas had been kissed by Noelle—a lot. Enough to make him dizzy with it. Only, then she’d met him at the airport in Quebec, they’d spent a month with her family in France…
And Thomas wasn’t sure he knew how to do just FaceTime anymore. There was a new yearning, knotted just below his heart. He knew what her skin felt like under his hands now, knew what she looked like right when she waked up, even her skincare routine before bed. It would feel like being away from the ice for too long, the knot pulling tight. He thought this year was going to be harder. Maybe he knew it, but if he did, he was pretending it might be easy still.
“T,” Noelle called, floating on her back, dark hair fanned out in the water. “C’mere!”
Thomas smiled, setting his drink down. He would come, whenever she called. Wherever.
~
Cole Reyes didn’t know if Adele Dumais staring at him the way she was was a good thing, or a bad thing. He was nervous enough without the seemingly disapproval of Pascal Dumais'—the Pascal Dumais of the Gryffindor Lions, oldest player in the league—teenage daughter.
“Don’t you talk?” Marc, one of his sons, asked.
Cole blinked. “Uh. Yeah. Yeah.”
Adele waved her brother off. “They’re always super nervous at first. Remember Sirius?”
Marc scoffed. “I was a baby.”
Cole let out a breath. Now they were casually talking about Sirius Black, who had lived in the very room Cole had been sleeping in for a week now when he was a rookie, too. It was the same with Logan Tremblay. He felt like he needed to keep the room pristine, like he was living in some Hockey Hall of Fame museum that he had not earned the right to be in yet.
“You’re still a baby,” Adele shot back.
“Kids,” came Celeste, Pascal’s wife’s voice from where she was setting the table. “Come on now.”
“Sorry, maman,” Marc said softly.
“Sorry,” Adele sighed more reluctantly.
“Go help your father with the grill, you two,” she said. “Everyone will be arriving soon.”
Katie, Celeste and Pascal’s youngest daughter, perked up from where she was sitting beside Cole, drawing. Not Pascal, Dumo—Cole kept having to remind himself that he could call Pascal by his nickname now, that it was all official, that he was a Gryffindor Lion, too. Katie hadn’t left his side since he arrived a week ago to billet with the Dumais, and he still wasn’t sure what to make of it.
“Even the Cup?” she asked.
Celeste laughed. “Oui, ma cherie. Cole? Would you mind going to get the flowers for the table? They’re on the kitchen counter, just inside.”
“Oh, sure, Mrs. Dumais,” Cole nodded, glad for something to do. The thought of the Cup arriving gave him the chills. He’d have to be careful not to touch it. He was scared to even look at it, to be honest. His mom would be laughing at him right about now. He wanted to call her afterwards, tell her everything.
“Call me Celeste, I told you, please,” Celeste smiled. She was lovely, with her dark hair twisted and clipped up and a summer dress as green as her eyes, silky against her olive skin.
Cole flushed, but smiled. “Celeste.”
Cole made his way through the sliding door from the back yard and through the dining room. The kitchen was one of the biggest rooms in the house—and it was a big house. Beautiful copper pans hung shining above the island, along with some herbs that Celeste grew and dried herself. It looked like something out of a magazine to Cole, and it was nice, but it wouldn’t beat his mom’s kitchen in the small apartment they shared in Boston. The small space would fill up to the brim with the smell of spices, or cobbler. The thought sent a pang right to his heart. He missed home, that was for sure. After being away for so long, for so many hockey camps, he’d hoped he would be more used to it by now.
The flowers were right where Celeste had said they would be, and he was reaching for one when the back door that led to the garage dinged open. Cole froze, sure that he was about to run into captain Sirius Black completely unprepared, when a girl stepped through instead. She was dressed in denim shorts and a white tank top, had dark brown skin, and a Gryffindor College hat over her hair, which was plaited back into many small braids.
She smiled when she saw him. No sign of surprised, or of the nervousness Cole felt when he met basically anyone.
“You must be Cole,” she said.
Cole nodded. The girl was gorgeous. Cole was a mess of nerves already. He didn’t need the stare of the teenage daughter of one of his idols, but he especially could not handle a beautiful girl right now.
“Yeah,” Cole said. “No, yeah, um. Yes.”
The girl strode forward, setting her bag down on the counter, along with a water bottle decorated in stickers. He caught a few Lions ones. She offered her hand, which was slender and had two golden rings on it. “I’m Layla. I’ve heard a lot about you.”
Cole took it, trying to place her. “Nice to meet you.”
“Oh, I babysit for the Dumais family,” she said in explanation, then waved her hand. “Well, this year, at least. I’m actually—we’re going to be working together.”
Cole blinked. “You mean the Lions?”
She nodded. “I’m in the middle of my undergrad for physical therapy. Dumo’s amazing and he got me an internship under the new PT. You know. I’ll probably get you stick tape or something,” she laughed. “Congrats, by the way.”
Cole tilted his head and she raised an eyebrow.
“On making it to the NHL?”
“Oh,” Cole laughed. “Oh, I, yeah, thanks. You, too—or…yeah.”
Cole was going to stay in his room in the basement and never come out.
“I gotta—Mrs. Du—Celeste wants these flowers outside,” he said, picking the vases up.
“Sure thing,” Layla smiled.
“Layla,” came a shriek, and a moment later Katie Dumais came sprinting into the kitchen and wrapped herself around Layla’s legs and smiled at Cole. “This is my new hockey player.”
Cole couldn’t help but laugh. He didn’t have a lot of experience with kids, but Katie sure was cute.
“Yours?” Layla gasped as she smiled at Cole. “He’s all yours, is he?”
Katie nodded. “Like Tremzy and Sirius. His name is Cole, like when Santa Clause doesn’t like you.”
Again, with the casual mentions of Logan Tremblay and Sirius Black.
“Oh, of course,” Layla laughed. “Well, I’m sure Santa Clause has never not liked you, babes. Let’s go let your mom know I’m here, okay? Your new hockey player can come with us, too.”
“He’s yours, too!” Katie insisted. “You’re here all the time, so he’s yours, too, don’t worry.”
“Oh, good,” Layla said. “I was worried.”
When Katie looked at Cole expectedly, Cole managed, “I guess everyone does need a hockey player?”
“Exactly!” Katie squealed, and Cole could only follow them outside, heart pounding.

It was good to be back in Gryffindor. Remus and Sirius had dropped their bags in Sirius’ entryway, said hello to Regulus, showered, and then hopped right back in the car to get to Pascal’s house.
“You two look disgustingly happy,” Regulus said, leaning forward from the back seat.
“We are,” Sirius grinned at him in the review mirror. “I am also happy,” he stroked the leather steering wheel of his Range Rover. “To be back with this baby.”
While Sirius’ hair had grown longer, Regulus had shaved his short. The curls were barely curls at all anymore, but Remus was happy to see that his seemingly ever-present dark circles had receded some.
“Why, thank you, Regulus, you look happy, too,” Remus snorted. “When do you leave for NYU’s orientation?”
“August 23rd,” he said. “Been texting with my housemates, too. They seem cool.”
“Maybe one of you will pull a Finn and fall in love with each other,” Sirius said.
“Twice,” Remus laughed, and Regulus did, too.
“I think I’ve had enough romance drama to last me a life time, thanks,” Regulus smiled. “But, yeah. I’m just…I’m focused on friends right now, I think. Normal, non-hockey creatures like you two. But that’s not to say if something came up…or I guess someone. Who knows.”
Sirius’ smile was softer this time. “Focus on whatever you want, Reg. You deserve it.”
Regulus just grumbled something about hockey gods, and then they were pulling up to the Dumais’. There were silver and white balloons lining the driveway and the fence to the backyard where, as Remus slammed his door, he could already hear laughter. A zing of excitement shot through him.
“I missed this team,” he sighed as Sirius took his hand.
Sirius pressed a kiss to his temple. “Your team.”
“Our team.”
“Jesus Christ,” Regulus said, and gave them a shove forward.
Thomas gave a loud woop when he spotted them coming out to the backyard. Regulus immediately made a B-line towards Leo and the Cubs.
“Yes! The Captain!” Thomas said and pulled Sirius into a hug. “Missed you, man.”
“You, too, T,” Sirius said. “Ready to tear it up?”
“You know it.”
Remus smiled as Thomas hugged him next. “I forgot you two train together before pre-season.”
“You two?” Thomas raised an eyebrow, the small gold hoops in his ears glinting in the sun. Remus noticed he’d shaved three stripes into one side of his head. They were a little wobbly. Maybe Noelle had done it. “You’re not coming with us?”
“You know how this one is about his routines,” Remus said, wrapping an arm around Sirius’ waist. “Wouldn’t want to mess anything up.”
“Please,” Sirius said. “I want you there more than I want a second—”
Remus and Thomas punched him at the same time.
“I know you weren’t just about to say that,” said an accented voice from behind Remus, and they turned to see Pascal standing there. He looked as he always did, smile lines around his eyes, gray streaks at his temples. He wore a white t-shirt and had Katie on his hip. She was definitely getting too big to be carried around like that, but Remus couldn’t see a time when Pascal would ever refuse her. He’d probably carry Adele around like that, too, if she’d let him.
“Dumo,” Sirius smiled, and took the two beers he was holding out, handing one to Remus. He kissed Katie’s forehead. “Good summer?”
“The best,” Pascal laughed, and nodded towards the edge of the yard. “Especially with the promise of seeing that thing again.”
Remus followed his gaze, and his breath caught, just as he knew it would. The Cup stood there, its guards near by with drinks and plates of food in their hands. It sat proudly on a table, surrounded by white tulips—no doubt Celeste’s doing.
“I’m excited to see you two bring it to the parade,” Pascal said. “That will be a wonderful day for everyone.”
Remus glanced at where Logan, Leo, and Finn were standing with Kasey Winter, Gryffindor’s goalie, and his partners Natalie, with her long blonde hair, and Finn’s brother Alex, who played for Tampa Bay.
Sirius’ smile lit up his face. “It will be.”
Remus peered around him. “Is that our rookie?”
Sirius scoffed. “A rookie can’t call a fellow rookie rookie, rookie.”
Remus blinked. “What did you just say?”
“That’s Cole!” Katie said. “I love him.” Then she turned and shouted his name again. He looked up from where he was standing quietly beside Jackson Nadeau, another player, and Remus suppressed a smile at the way his eyes widened when he saw Sirius.
“Oh, here we go,” Sirius mumbled.
“Oh, hush,” Remus said, and sounded far too much like his mother to himself. “You’re going to be throwing hands for him the second someone gets close, and you know it.”
“I don’t know how to tell rookies I’m just a person!” Sirius whispered as Cole began to make his way over. “They act all…”
“Star struck?” Thomas offered.
Sirius just glowered at him.
Cole Reyes did not look as young as he was. Even at 19, he was jacked, and tall, with light brown skin, green eyes, and a stripe shaved into one of his eyebrows. His hair was shaved at the sides, but longer on the top and in tight curls.
Remus glanced somewhat self-consciously down at himself. He could only put on more muscle healthily so fast. He thought he’d been doing well, but looking at Cole…
“Hello,” Cole said hesitantly and Pascal set Katie down and clapped Cole on the shoulder.
“Reyes, meet Sirius. Sirius, meet the boy who is a much better billet than you ever were.”
Sirius snorted, and Cole laughed—nervously.
“Hi, Cole,” Sirius said, and held out his hand. “I know we spoke briefly over the summer, but it’s nice to officially meet you.”
“You, too,” Cole said, smile slight. “Thanks for the call. My mom freaked out. I mean—well, me too, but my mom…” Cole stuttered out, wincing.
“Loves me?” Sirius laughed. “I get that a lot.”
“He’s so humble,” Remus shook his head jokingly. “Hi Cole, I’m Remus. Welcome to the team.”
“You too…?” Cole said hesitantly. “Well, the roster, I guess.”
“Cole,” Katie said, taking his large hand in her small one. “Come meet Tremzy. He’s my best friend.”
Sirius feigned a pout. “What about me?”
Katie smiled sheepishly, throwing herself at Sirius’ legs, “You, too!”
“Always one-uped by Tremblay,” Thomas laughed, shaking his head. “How’s it feel, Cap?”
“Wonderful,” Sirius said dryly and then looked down at Katie, petting her head. “Go on, go show Cole your best friend.”
They watched her lead Cole through the crowd for a moment before Sirius huffed.
“See?” Sirius whispered to Remus. “It’s like he’s scared of me.”
“I’ve never heard you use the phrase spoke briefly in my life. Who are you, Alice?”
“I was trying to be professional!”
Remus laughed. “Why?”
Sirius just rolled his eyes and dragged him over to stack their plates with food.
The party went well into the evening, the sky pink and blue in the setting sun. There were lanterns floating in the pool where Evgeni and Jackson were playing chicken with a delighted Marc and Louis, or sometimes one of Coach Arthur Weasley’s boys, on their shoulders. Logan was sitting with Cole and Finn, cradling a sleepy Katie against his chest, Leo and Regulus laughing with Kasey and Alex.
Remus found Sirius again standing alone in front of the Cup. His hair was falling into his face, the curls gentled by the evening breeze and the Cup’s silver surface reflecting the silver of Sirius’ eyes. Remus went to stand beside him, and neither of them spoke for a moment.
“I’m nervous,” Remus broke the silence.
Sirius nodded. “I know, mon loup.”
Remus sighed, resting his head against Sirius’ arm. “Yeah?”
“Of course,” Sirius switched his drink to his other hand so he could run his fingers through Remus’ hair. “This is…big.”
“It’s what I’ve always wanted,” Remus whispered. It felt dangerous, to say the words aloud. “It’s everything that I lost. Last time.”
Remus could still feel Fenrir Greyback rip at his shoulder, even if it was years ago now, while they were still at college. Being in the NHL meant that Remus would have to play against him again whenever they met Vegas.
Sirius turned towards him, hand on his cheek.
“You will have this,” he said earnestly, and then smile, reaching into his shirt for his necklace, the one Remus had gifted him last Christmas. He brought it to his lips. “Loops.”
Remus smiled at the now familiar sight, touching the pendant when Sirius’ let it drop.
“You know,” Remus said. “You’re everything I’ve always wanted, too.”
Sirius’ smile was one of Remus’ favorites, and he tucked him against his side. Remus followed his gaze to find him looking at Cole again.
“I’m not happy with the way it happened,” Sirius said softly, and Remus knew he was thinking of the pictures that someone had leaked of them kissing. The pictures that had upturned their entire lives. “But I’m glad I get to hold you like this in front of new faces. I wasn’t thinking about trades—I try not to—but getting Reyes, if things had been different, would have meant we were back to square one at parties like these.”
Remus nodded, taking a drink. “And he seemed okay with it. With us.”
“I was thinking we should invite him to train with us. With me, you, and T. Maybe Dumo would join, too. I know he usually goes with Sergei, but Sergei might be with Kuns and Nado, even though they usually like it just them. The Cubs—”
“Okay, Captain, okay,” Remus laughed.
Sirius pressed a hand over his eyes, laughing. “I just don’t like it when they’re nervous around me. Like Leo was. It’s so much better now that we’re friends.”
“You’ll get there with him,” Remus said. “Yeah, invite him to train with us. The more the merrier.”
Secretly, Remus wanted to see how Cole trained. He couldn’t shake the analytical side of him, the physical therapist side. Cole was built for such a young age.
“If I didn’t know better,” Sirius said softly, mouth close to Remus’ ear. “I’d say you were checking him out.”
Remus spluttered. “I’m not! I want to know his routine!”
Sirius cracked up. “This is your superstition, isn’t it? Cracking other player’s codes.”
Remus just shrugged, smiling into his cup.
“Have you cracked my code?” Sirius asked in the low voice he used that made Remus not want to be surrounded by people.
Remus looked up at him. “Maybe. It certainly has nothing to do with a piece of toast at five o’clock.”
“My pre-game toast is very important to me.”
Remus leaned up to press a quick kiss to his lips. “No, you just like honey and cinnamon.”
Sirius rolled his eyes. “Okay, I’m going to talk to Reyes now.”
“Catch him if he passes out.”
Sirius just glowered over his shoulder as he stalked across the grass. Remus looked around at the back yard, at the team, together again. His team.

I vote leo meeting the harvard team! 💕
So this fic has been a bit of a mare to write, but we are here!
You can read the first part of this here
Rating: T
CW: Alcohol, academic superiority complex and coming out.
Logan, Finn, Leo, Percy, Will and the general Sweater Weather universe belongs to @lumosinlove. The other team members were made up by me for this fic.
“Okay, tell me their names again,” Leo said, tugging at the rolled neck of his sweater as he shut the car door.
“Nutty,” Finn laughed. “There’s not going to be a pop quiz. We’ll introduce you when we meet people.”
Leo scowled, letting Logan thread their fingers together. It was weird being able to do this in public still and Leo couldn’t help but glance around. “I just don’t want to make a fool of myself.” Logan squeezed his hand reassuringly, meeting Leo’s gaze with a soft smile.
“Nobody expects you to know anything. And everybody’s great.” Logan wrinkled his nose like he’d just smelt something bad. “Except Wesley, he’s an ass, but I’ll point him out.”
Like many of the others in Harvard square, the building was all exposed brick and white accents, blending in seamlessly with those around it. Inside was different, more modern. Leo didn’t get to see much of the first floor, the one dedicated to the restaurant Finn, Logan and the rest of the team had dined at previous evening, before he was ushered up a grand staircase, but he’d seen the photographs. The cherry blossom ceilings and walls of glass provided the perfect backdrop for the instagram feeds of the hoards of celebrities and influencers that flocked there. Hence his surprise when, after checking their invitations again, an employee pushed open a set of double doors to reveal a room that more resembled a 1920’s speakeasy than anything 21st century. A loud cheer went up as they crossed the threshold.
“Is this a team thing?” Leo mouthed at Logan.
He got his answer from Percy Marshall. Leo had met him a few times before when they’d played the Rangers. “You’re the last to arrive,” Percy chuckled. “I’d say I was surprised, but that would be a lie.” He slapped a hand playfully against Finn’s bicep. Is this outfit change number 52, Finn? Don’t worry, you didn’t disappoint. You look wonderful.”
“Fuck you, Marshy,” Finn laughed. “Tremz was on a call to his sisters actually.”
“Oh, I do apologise,” Percy clasped his hand to his chest. “We wouldn’t dare break up a Tremblay soiree.”
“You’re an ass,” Logan scoffed, plucking at Finn’s slacks. “I was only talking to them because Finn was taking so long. Did you know there are several shades of mustard and only one of them goes with this shirt?”
“Oh look, they argue like an old married couple too,” William Morgan, another of those Leo knew, and Percy’s teammate on the Rangers, teased. “Marshy, these hands are looking too empty. Get these men a drink.”
“Aye, aye, capt’n.” Leo set to follow as Percy led the way to the bar, stumbling slightly as he found Will’s firm grasp on his shoulder stopping his movement. Logan turned as his fingers slipped from his hand.
“Go ahead, Tremzy. I’m going to introduce Leo to some of the team. We want all the gossip without you two around to censor him.”
Logan frowned. “I’m not sure -”
“Relax, Logan. This isn’t a hazing. We’ll be right over there,” Will pointed towards a group perched on stools around two of the tables in the centre of the room, a mix of the old team and what Leo assumed were their partners. “Knut’s a big boy. He can object for himself if he really doesn’t want to come.”
“I’m sure I can hold my own,” Leo cocked his head slightly and smiled. “You better not leave Harzy with Percy for too long. They’ll be three shots down by now.”
The next few hours passed in a whirlwind of introductions. Leo had lost count of the number of hands he'd shaken and the new names he'd learned. It reminded him of those first few days in Gryffindor, being shuffled around from place to place and everybody telling him he'd get used to it.
The quiet of the bathroom was a welcome reprieve to the chaos. “Sweetheart,” Leo laughed, listening to Finn sing to himself in the stall. “Are you okay? You’ve been in there a while.”
“I’m coming, I’m coming.” A concerningly loud crash preceded the door being pushed open. “I’m here.”
“You’re drunk,” Leo chuckled.
Finn pulled his hands from under the stream of water, shaking droplets everywhere as he squeezed the tips of his thumb and forefinger together. “Maybe just the tiniest bit.”
Leo shook his head fondly. “Let’s go and find Lo.” Glancing back to check Finn was following him proved to be a mistake. “Shit, I’m sorry,” he apologised, rubbing at his forehead and stepping back from the wall of muscle he’d just crashed into. Of course, the tall man with his hair pulled back into a loose ponytail was the one person Leo hadn’t yet met.
“Leo, this is James. Call him Hunter,” Finn grinned with his hand resting in the small of Leo’s back. "Hunter, this is -"
"Leo Knut. I know. Everybody knows," Hunter said and Leo noted the familiar notes of his own accent in the words. He faltered with his hand thrust halfway in Leo's direction, letting it fall back by his side. "Oh fuck, sorry man. Did you want to introduce him as your boyfriend? Go ahead."
"It's cool, no worries." Finn shrugged, the rounds of his cheeks tinged with the slightest of blushes. "Aww, what the heck!" He squared his shoulders, standing a little taller, the corners of his mouth splitting with pride. "Hunter, this is Leo, my boyfriend."
Hunter extended his hand again for Leo to shake. “Nice to meet you. Please excuse me, I have to use the bathroom now, but we’ll talk later.”
***
"Boys." The call had come from behind them and Logan groaned low in his chest as they turned to acknowledge it.
"Wes! You made it," Finn smiled, the corners of his mouth tight. "We weren't sure you'd be able to. With all those big meetings you have to attend and such. Is your wife, Renee, wasn’t it, here? I'd love to meet her."
Something flickered in Wes' smug expression. "They stayed in California. Nate has a very busy schedule. Harvard is very important to me, as you know, so I came alone."
“Isn’t Nate three?” Logan blinked.
“You have to give them a good start if you want them to get them to get into a good college these days, I’m sure you understand. Where was it you went, Leo?"
Leo pursed his lips, letting the same calm wash over him that he channelled for interviews. “I didn’t go. I got drafted straight out of high school.”
“Oh, well, that’s a shame,” Wes said. “College isn’t for everybody though, is it?”
Logan bristled beside him, and Leo placed a placating hand on his shoulder. “Indeed,” he blinked. “I didn’t need my intelligence validated by a degree then, and I still don’t now. And I was hardly about to turn down an offer from The Gryffindor Lions now, was I?”
Wes grumbled something that sounded vaguely like an agreement before turning on his heel and walking off in a manner that Leo could only describe as petulant.
“You’re so hot,” Finn took Leo’s face between his hands and pressed a kiss to his lips. “I’m going to get a drink. Do you want another?”
“Please,” Leo nodded. Logan raised his still mostly full glass as a rejection of the offer.
“You should have let me punch him,” Logan huffed. “He would have deserved it.”
"And get blood on your shirt? Let’s leave that on the ice, shall we?” Leo tugged at the lapels of Logan’s jacket.
***
"So," Logan started as they claimed one of the low tables in the corner, a little tucked away from the rest of the room. "What do you think?"
"It's always nice seeing where you two started," Leo hummed, threading his fingers through the thin curls on the nape of Logan's neck. "I just don't know how you used to do this everyday. Live amongst all this energy. The guys all seem great, but it's a lot even now and I'm assuming you've all mellowed somewhat with age."
"I am not old," Logan scoffed. "Mais non, I agree. Wasn't always like this though. There's more than one graduating class here and we've been apart a long time. A lot of excitement."
"Sorry, sorry, I got caught up with Biscuit. He has triplets now, isn't that crazy?" Finn said, pressing a glass into Logan’s hand and setting Leo’s in front of him before flopping onto the couch opposite. "One Margarita for the fine sir."
"Thanks, Harzy," Leo laughed lightly.
"I can't believe him and Vanessa are still together," Logan hummed, taking a long sip of his drink. He leaned back, crossing his left leg over his right thigh and snaked his arm across the dark leather, brushing his fingers against Leo's shoulder. "I only introduced them because she was flirting with you at that party, the one just after we got back from winter break my junior year, and I wanted to distract her."
"Oh, so that's why you got all moody," Finn said. "She wasn't flirting, she needed help with an essay, idiot."
"The fact you remember Logan's mood on a night seven years ago says more about you than him," Leo snorted.
"First of all, Tremzy being grumpy? That's just a good guess. Second, some of us were still stupid at 20, Knutty." Finn sighed wistfully. "Hey, at least it doesn't feel like I'm being stabbed in the chest these days when I think about it. Progress, right?"
Logan tipped his glass in Finn's direction, nodding his head briefly. "I'll cheers to that."
"To -" Leo started, letting the toast die off as another of Finn and Logan's old team mates approached. He hoped the disappointment he felt wasn't written across his face; whilst he hadn't really expected to be left alone for too long, he had hoped for the brief respite to have lasted longer.
"Hey." The newcomer had his hand shoved into his pockets and his shoulders stooped, almost as if he was trying to hide himself. "I'm not interrupting anything, am I?"
"Ken!" Finn patted the empty seat next to him. "Of course not. Come, sit."
Leo extended his arm, offering his hand. "Nice to meet you. Ken was it? I'm Leo."
"Ken's what the team always called me. Don't really hear it much these days." Leo thought he saw something sad in the smile sent his way. "My real name is Obi."
"That's because you went off the radar," Logan gave a pointed look.
"About that -" Obi swiped Finn's drink, ignoring his disgruntled protest. He drained what was left of it, pulling at an non-existent loose thread on his sweater. "I wanted to say thank you, you know. For having the guts to come out. I know Black and Lupin were first, but that was forced wasn’t it. You made a choice. I know that must have been hard. It was one hell of a ballsy move."
Leo looked between Finn and Logan, expecting them to answer, but neither of them spoke. "We didn't have much of a choice, not if we didn't want to be watching our back every second of every day."
"It was still brave," Obi muttered. "I couldn't have done it."
"Ken, what are you saying?" Logan never did have much patience for others taking their time to get to the point, even though he was a fan of the scenic route himself.
"They gave you a whole Harvard degree and you need to ask that question?" Obi huffed a laugh. "I'm gay. I met Marco, my now husband at the end of senior year, and freaked out. I didn't know how to make these two worlds work, so I didn't. I moved to DC with him, and started a new life. I'm an accountant, he works in marketing. We have four rats, and a Vizsla called Poppy. It's all very domestic. I love it, but I was a coward.”
"You're not a coward. You don't owe that information to anybody, Ken. Not the others, not the media, not the NHL and not us. Not now, not then, not ever.” Finn took a breath, holding up his finger to signal he wasn’t finished. “Besides, it's not as if Lo and I planned this. We went into this with every intention of stuffing this deep, deep into the depths of denial, never for anybody to find out. Including ourselves. And then Nutty came along.”
Obi smiled at Leo, turning his attention back to Finn. "When did you become Gay Yoda?"
"I spend way too much time in our psych's office. Just spreading the wisdom. Heather would be proud."
"Do the others know?" Logan asked.
"Not yet, I think I'd like them to though."
Logan shifted, leaning forward in his seat. "There's no rush, Ken. We've got your back, whatever you decide."
"So, do you have photos?" Leo cocked his head. "We got to show off. Now it's your turn. Even if it's only for us."
"Of Marco?"
"I'm sure he's wonderful, but I was actually talking about Poppy. And the rats," Leo teased.
There were moments when Leo wondered whether they had made the right decision. When he was playing in front of hostile crowds, or fending off stupid media questions, or blocking bigots on twitter. And then there were moments when he knew the decision they had made was 100% perfect. Right now, that was one of those moments.

Chapter 1
“Final seconds of the second period on the clock, Frank. The Saint’s going for the goal again, passing Tremblay and going straight in Nutty’s direction-”
“And that was a hit on Leo Knut, by the Hollow’s Saint’s winger Andrew Kline. And now, the expected punches follow. Marly, they could have really seen Logan and Finn coming, right?” “Definitely, Frank. No team likes it when someone fights with their goalie but these two seem to be particularly protective of our sunshine boy. Tremzy is already throwing punches at Ethan Bart and I can see O’Hara skating over to them.”
“Oh and here comes Luke. Throwing off his gloves and joining his teammates. Maybe with all those uncovered wrists we could actually get a chance to see some soulmate tattoos again. Last one spotted was Kasey Winter’s almost two years ago now, spelling out Natalie, the name of his girlfriend. They still seem to be going strong; I’m happy for them. That incident did however get most of the players to cover their wrists up,” Frank waited for a second before continuing, “How’s the fight? Looks like we got a big one tonight, eh?”
“It is! We’ve got three people from each team fighting at the moment, but the Refs are pulling them apart now. Coach Weasley doesn’t look too happy that his players are risking injuries for fights again. He’s calling a few over now and I do not want to be on the receiving end of Arthur’s wrath, believe me.”
“Same here, Marlene. Huh, that was weird. Did you see that?”
“It was. Loops just had to shake DV so he’d move. He had stared a hole into the ice and didn’t react to the Coach or his teammate. Haven’t seen him do that before. Hopefully, he’ll be fully focused again after the break.”
“I’m hoping it wasn’t a bad hit. The Lions really don’t need another injury right now.”
“Especially after only just getting Finn back from his small wrist injury that didn’t allow him to play the last two games.”
“Yeah. We’ll keep everyone updated of course. I’m sure he’s being checked right now.”
“In the meantime, there were some fantastic plays in there. It would be quite nice for the players to have a good game before some of them get to have a break.”
“Yes, All Star week is next week and we’ll be seeing a few of the Lions there, such as the newly wedded Remus Lupin and Sirius Black, but also last year's MVP Logan Tremblay, of course.”
“I’m excited Frank! We’ll be right back after a quick break for the second period.”
-
Luke was still feeling off after the fight, going through the questions Layla asked him on autopilot. No, he wasn’t hurt, there was neither pain there nor there, yes, he could still remember his address and full name.
Their new PT seemed at a loss. She could see that he was acting very strange and, honestly, she was getting worried about forgetting some usually obvious injuries for his behaviour. There was only so much a human could guess, so she simply asked.
“What happened out there, Deveaux?”
It took a moment for Luke to register he was being addressed, mumbling a “nothing” before continuing to stare at the wall. How stupid did this boy think she was?
Letting out a sigh, she clarified, “I just need to know if you’re injured or not,” after a second of hesitation Kayla added, “but if there’s something bothering you or just occupying your thoughts, you can always go talk to Heather. She’s helped a few of your teammates too.”
She watched his expression while telling Luke. Some guys were embarrassed of going to therapy. There was no reason to be, of course. No one got shy about having the PT check on them but when it came to mental struggles, they somehow believed they have to handle it all alone. Society and the messed up way of thinking that they teach children, honestly. She was glad they at least had some people on the team who encouraged visiting Heather any time they saw someone struggling. She knew Sirius really did help them a lot by being so open about going to her office at least once a week.
There really was no way to tell how Luke thought about her proposal, he certainly seemed to be thinking, but there was no way to determine what about. Suddenly Luke broke the silence.
“Can I go?”
Since Layla hadn’t found any injuries and she couldn’t really do more than encourage him to visit Heather, she let him leave.
The brunette was out of the room the second after the words had left her mouth.
--
They had won. The locker room was already buzzing, the mandatory playlist echoing into the hallway. After their last game against the Saint’s, which they had lost, the whole team was even more excited about having won. There was even some kind of dance match between Logan and Sirius going on, not that Luke noticed. He had been a bit off for the rest of the game, much to the dismay of Coach Weasley. That got him to spend most of his time on the bench in the last period, but he didn’t mind. For once, hockey was not his main concern, not even during this game.
He had seen it. When number 7 had thrown off his gloves for the fight, there it had been in black cursive. A soulmate tattoo, spelling out “Luke”. Of course "Luke" didn’t necessarily mean Luke as in himself, but there was still a possibility.
A possibility that his soulmate was a Saint. A Saint. He would have been happy with almost anyone, but no, it had to be an ice hockey player. He didn't care about the gender. Luckily he wouldn't even have to hide a relationship between him and a potential boyfriend because of Remus and Sirius. But a Saint? Even in his thoughts, he knew he was whining. The real problem was that they would not only live miles apart and would have practically no time for each other half of the year, but they would be opponents. In ice hockey, the other team is the enemy. He couldn't befriend the enemy and he definitely couldn't date the enemy. Even if he wanted, he'd be blamed for not playing as hard as he could or making exceptions when it came to his hypothetical boyfriend.
So really, dating a Saint was not an option.
Still, his curiosity got the better of him. If this was really his soulmate, no matter how much he didn't want him to be, he had to know.
Standing up, he made his excuses and slipped into the hallway, running along until he got to the other team's locker room.
Great plan, idiot, what will you do now?! You can’t just go in and ask in front of everyone.
Then a group of people stepped out, each looking at Luke as if he had a kick-me sign on his forehead and as if they were considering it. Quite a few had walked past him and when one held open the door for his teammate, Luke could see that there were only three people left in the room. No time better than now, he told himself, gathering some of his Lion courage and walked straight inside.
“The fuck, Lion?!”, one of the players mumbled while he left the room too, shortly followed by the other player that wasn’t the one Luke had been looking for.
He took a deep breath. The tattoo wouldn't refer to him. Of course it wouldn't. Why would it be a Saint, really. Stepping closer to the boy lacing up his shoes, Luke's eyes met a pair of brown ones, looking up through gold curls.
“Why are you here?”, the other asked, narrowing his eyes and standing up to be on eye level with the Lion.
Oh, the charm of rivalry, always straight to the point, no need for formalities.
“Do you want to brag about catching up? Hate to break it to you, but you’re not in the lead and we’ll win the next one anyway.”
Even though his words sounded confident, he leaned back and knocked on the wood of the benches.
“No,” the brunette stated, looking him dead in the eyes. This boy had activated Luke's competitiveness so there was no turning back, “to both. We’ll just win as we did today. Last time was luck and you know it.”
The other raised an eyebrow at him. “The only thing that was luck last time was that you got a goal.”
The nerve this person had. Here he was, coming to actually try to talk to him and possibly get to know him to find out about the tattoo and just got insults in return. Luke was about to shoot something back when the door opened again.
“Babe, you coming?”

Chapter 1
“Lily, why the hell are we out here?” Logan asked, wrapping his arms around himself. He glanced around the hall at the other party guests that were milling about—all of whom had costumes more fitting for the cool weather—and grumbled as he leaned against the wall, a hiss escaping his lips when the cold material touched his bare back.
Lily glanced at him, amused. “It’s not my fault you chose to show off your body when it’s fucking freezing outside.”
“No, it’s Finn’s. He had it stuck in his head that we just had to wear sexy costumes,” Logan rolled his eyes; though he couldn’t deny that he’d been more than happy when he first saw Finn that night. His breath had completely left his lungs when the redhead had stepped out of the bathroom wearing a Spartan costume, smiling like a little kid at his fake sword, his firm abs on display, a familiar trail of red hair disappearing under the wide belt and—
Logan gulped and tried to remember that he was at a party full of people, willing his mind not to think about how he’d felt. Or about how much he was dying to get Finn out of that damn skirt.
“Still, that doesn’t explain why we’re out here instead of inside, where it’s warmer and I could be in my half-naked boyfriend’s arms.”
“Just bear with me, ok? It shouldn’t be long now.”
Logan sighed; he knew better than to try to argue with his friend. “So how’s your business going?” he asked instead.
“Oh, it’s great!” Lily replied, her face lighting up with a smile. “We received a shipment of rare books today, there’re a few that I’m sure Finn would love. I will separate a few—” she stopped in the middle of her excited explanation as she looked towards the elevators, her smile going wider. “Remus!” she yelled and, without another word, pushed against the wall to walk ahead.
Frowning, Logan grumbled and followed behind a moment later. Had she been waiting for someone? Perhaps this meant that he could go back inside and get out of the cold. Halfway there, he looked to see who Lily had called for, noticing two people waiting but focusing mainly on one of them as his eyes fell on a long set of legs. Damn, this guy is huge, he thought as his gaze wandered slowly up the dark ripped jeans and comfy looking jumper.
The guy jumped slightly and dropped some keys he was holding. Logan didn’t get to see the face under the mop of blond hair as he bent to pick them up, but noticed how red his neck was and chuckled softly.
Cute.
Then the boy straightened up and Logan almost choked on his laugh as their gazes locked. His eyes were the bluest he’d ever seen, like staring at an open sky, contrasting with the blush on his cheeks—whether from the cold or from embarrassment, Logan wasn’t sure. He seemed slightly guarded, which made Logan cock his head wondering why. As a few more seconds passed and he didn’t break eye contact, some of the tension left the boy’s shoulders, the corner of his mouth lifting up in a shy smile as he ruffled his hair, the gesture going straight to Logan’s gut.
Shaking his head, he focused on the floor as he reached Lily’s side. The man standing next to the blond—Remus, most likely—was talking with Lily, but Logan could barely process what they were saying in the middle of the turmoil that was his head. With great effort, he tried to keep his eyes down, but his gaze kept wandering back to blue.
He was pulled out of his musings when Lily placed a hand on his shoulder and tilted her head towards the tall guy who, Logan noticed, had his eyes now trailing down Logan’s arms. “Hi, I’m Lily and this is Logan,” she said with a smile.
The blond —Logan cursed himself for not catching his name— gave him a sheepish wave and another small smile, and Logan found himself returning it as a tingling sensation spread through his body, starting from his mouth and going down to his toes.
“Salut! Are you guys joining the party?” he asked hopefully.
“Ah, sorry, but well… we don’t really have costumes,” Remus replied and the other guy turned to look at him with a scowl. It looked like he wanted to argue with his...friend? Logan had no idea what they were. Or who they were, for that matter.
But he kinda wanted to.
“Costumes are not mandatory. C’mon, I promise you’ll have fun,” Lily turned pleading eyes to Remus.
The newcomers glanced at each other, an unspoken conversation being held between them. Taking a sip from his drink, Logan stared at the floor again and, when he looked back up, the blond had his head tilted down, his bottom lip jutting out, eyes big and begging and blue, and it was so fucking adorable that Logan almost spat out his rum.
He turned to the side and coughed discreetly just as Remus gave in and Lily started happily guiding them into the apartment.
All the way there, Logan kept wanting to ask for the guy’s name as they stole glances at each other, but he didn’t want to show just how little attention he’d been paying. Or maybe where his attention had been. Once inside, they were welcomed by the much needed heat, low lights and a playlist that was without a doubt put together by Talker. Natalie, Marlene and a few other people were dancing to the beat, but Logan knew where he would find most of the gang: in the living room, exactly where they’d left them.
The thought of who would be waiting for him there felt like a bucket of cold water thrown in his face, making him falter in his step. What the fuck had he been thinking? Frowning, Logan hid his tightly closed fists inside his pockets, waiting a few steps back while Lily filled two cups with some orange beverage and handed them over to Remus and his companion.
As soon as they stepped into the living room, his sight landed on Finn playing against Thomas and Kasey, his wild auburn hair falling into his eyes, completely focused on the task at hand as he tapped buttons and whooped when he managed a combo.
Finn.
Logan made a bee-line for him, desperate to feel his boyfriend’s warmth, have him close after the jarring emotions that had assaulted him just now. He also left his cup at the table for good measure—maybe he’d been drinking too much.
Burrowing into his boyfriend’s side, he tried to leave as little space between them as possible, which made Finn chuckle and shiver slightly.
“Honey, you’re freezing,” he said as he nudged him with his head.
“Blame Evans. She forced me to stay out so she could wait for her friend.” His thoughts went back to the other person that had come with them, but he avoided the urge to look for him.
“Friend? Who was it?” Finn asked, not taking his eyes away from the screen as suddenly James’ character stood still and they started losing. “Pots, focus!”
“Someone named Remus? I have no idea.”
“Wait, no no no!” Finn screamed and punched the buttons harder, but James was not helping at all and they were both knocked out. “Oh, come on!” Everyone laughed as Finn threw the controller on the table and turned to playfully glare at Lily, who was sitting on James’ lap. “Lily, what did I tell you? Don’t distract him when he plays on my team!”
“Stop crying and pay up, O’Hara!” Kasey grinned and high-fived Thomas.
“Yeah, yeah, you’re just lucky Lily was on your team as well,” Finn mumbled but threw the twenty bucks in their direction before turning to Logan with a smile. “Hey baby.”
Next thing Logan knew, there were lips pressed against his. He smiled into it, bringing a hand up to brush Finn’s hair out of his face, letting the feel of his body ground him again.
As they pulled apart, he caught the blond guy staring, their eyes meeting only for a second before the boy looked away. His jaw was set in a hard line, so different from the expressions he’d shown Logan out there, and suddenly he was flooded with guilt at the pull that kept tugging in two different directions.
He felt completely thrown off. His feelings for Finn were as strong as ever, but he was still very intrigued by this other person. There was something that made him want to talk with him more, ask about his life, check if those long arms could envelop him whole as it seemed. To just go over there and introduce him to Finn.
What kind of shitty person was he?
“Everyone,” Lily said then, grabbing everyone’s attention, “these are Remus and Leo. Remus is Sirius’ new neighbour, so be nice to them!” She pierced them with her best and-if-you-don’t glare that all of them knew well, making some of the guys gulp.
Leo, Logan thought. It fit him, somehow.
“It’s nice to meet you all,” Remus said.
“Hello,” Leo smiled brightly at whoever was sitting to their right and Logan felt Finn freeze for a second as the corner of his mouth lifted in a silly smile.
Well, at least he knew Finn found Leo attractive as well.
His boyfriend turned to him, tilting his head to the side. “I’ve run into that Remus guy in the hall before, but who is that?”
“His friend?” Logan said, trying not to sound too interested. “I don’t know, it doesn’t seem like they live together.”
“Yeah, no, I mean… I feel like I’ve seen him somewhere?”
Logan frowned. “I don’t think I saw him in the building before. I would remember someone that tall.”
“Oh baby, are you grumpy cause you hurt your neck when you looked at his face?” Finn teased as he petted Logan’s hair.
“Shut up, I’m not that much shorter than you.” Logan crossed his arms over his chest, turning his face away from Finn.
The stupid ass laughed and kissed his temple, which admittedly always managed to make Logan melt and lean into him, but he still made a ‘hmph’ sound, pulling another laugh out of Finn.
While both of them were distracted, the rest of the guys started setting everything up to play a new game which Remus seemed interested in. And then, out of nowhere, Sirius was asking Remus to play with him.
Finn and Logan looked at each other, wondering what the hell Sirius was up to. It was rare for him to want to play with some random guy, especially when most of the people in the room already had a hard time beating him. They even had a bet going about who would be the first to get five wins over Pads and so far, no one had managed it. Remus had absolutely no chance against someone that did this for a living.
But as it turned out, it was a very heated competition that had everyone watching closely. Logan wasn’t sure that he’d ever seen Sirius like that. He could tell he was focused, yes, but he was also excited, even if he was hiding it on the outside. In the end, Remus kicked Sirius’ ass.
“Yes!” both Remus and Leo yelled and then hugged, laughing. Leo put a hand on the back of Remus’ head and bumped their heads together. The gesture showed just how close they were, how comfortable they felt with each other, but what really had Logan’s attention was that wide, unbelievably happy smile that showed off his—
“Finn...dimples,” he whispered, though probably not as quietly as he should have, given the way Kasey snorted.
That in itself wasn’t a weird thing to say. Finn and Logan were open with each other. They talked about everything and had no secrets between them, because talking with Finn was as easy as breathing, and as vital too.
Logan trusted Finn. With his whole heart.
He knew he could talk to him about other guys that he found attractive and that Finn could do the same, ‘cause they weren’t possessive or so blinded by jealousy that they couldn’t separate things. It wouldn’t be the first time they’d had a talk like that either.
This was different though.
It’d been a very long while since Logan had been struck like this. Probably since the first time he’d laid eyes on Finn; he’d had no words to describe the feeling at that moment either. But there was something about those blue eyes and the way he’d held Logan’s gaze, about that shy but steady demeanour. And that smile.
Fuck, that smile.
Logan didn’t even know him, and he already knew that he’d love that grin here or in any other universe. And just how fucking weird was that?
Maybe he could ask Leo to play a game with him next, get to know him, make him feel comfortable. But he couldn’t get his attention, Leo’s gaze kept evading him, and Logan felt something like dread at the possibility that Leo might be doing it on purpose.
He didn’t get much of a chance anyway. After a bit of teasing about Padfoot, Remus stood up to defend him before trailing off in the middle of his speech, a faraway look on his face. Then he rushed out of the room, leaving a tense silence behind and Leo staring helplessly after him.
Lily was the first one to approach him, placing a hand on Leo’s shoulder. “Are you ok?”
“Yeah, I… I will go check on him,” he smiled sadly and nodded to the room in general. “Thank you for inviting us.” And with that, he exited without a second glance back.
Logan wasn’t sure how he should feel about this kind of departure, or at the realisation that he might not see Leo again. Maybe it was a good thing; if his emotions could get stirred just by some glances, what would it be like if he actually got to know him?
Perhaps it was better to leave things as they were.
***
Shit shit shit shit.
It was late. Leo was so, so late.
He skidded around the corner and took the next hall at a light run, trying to avoid the other students, which luckily weren’t that many. Of course, he thought bitterly, that’s probably because other people manage to get to their own classes on time.
He still wasn’t sure what had happened, he was convinced he’d set his alarm for today, but clearly he hadn’t or he wouldn’t be running. His commute was quite long as it was, which meant that if he missed the train—like today—he was inevitably late unless a miracle happened.
Maybe he should really take Remus up on his offer to move in with him. It would also mean spending more time with his best friend, since between attending classes, doing homework and the time it took to get back home, he didn’t have many opportunities to see him lately. But there was no way Leo could afford that flat, and he didn’t want to take advantage of Remus.
Finally, he reached the door to his classroom and, after allowing a few seconds to let his breathing go back to normal, he went in as quietly as possible. The Professor had her back turned to him, so he quickly scanned the room and sat at the nearest empty seat, at the very back.
Sighing in relief that he didn’t seem to have missed too much, he opened his bag and took out his copy of Pride and Prejudice and the rest of his stuff. He was in such a hurry to catch up with the class that he knocked his pencil off the table, sending it rolling on the floor. Cringing at the sound it made, Leo bent to pick it up, only to find that another hand was already there.
He leaned back, blinking at the hand offering his pencil back, then followed the lines of the arm under the green, long-sleeved shirt, up to a familiar face and there Leo had to do a double-take.
Straightening up, he raised his eyebrows, making Finn laugh, his smile lifting to the side as he waved the pencil between them.
“Um, thanks,” Leo whispered, taking it and turning back to his notes with a frown.
Had he and Finn always shared a class together?
Since this was a course he was only taking for credits, Leo didn’t know many faces here and was usually so enthralled by the lecture that he didn’t pay much attention to his surroundings.
Finn hadn’t shown any signs that he’d recognised him at the Halloween party a week ago either. Though, if he was being honest, Leo had especially tried to avoid looking at them after he’d seen him hugging and kissing Logan.
Ugh, that memory… it’d been on his mind more than he cared to admit.
Leo didn’t want to think about how stupid he’d felt that night. He’d been shocked the first time he saw Logan, how his costume showed off his shoulders and thighs, the way he carried himself, the slight pout of his lips as he made his way towards them.
He didn’t want to think about how Logan’s eyes had started travelling up his body, making him panic and act like a fool. Or how despite that, Logan had also seemed a bit shy and fucking adorable and damn it, Leo had thought he was interested in him. But then they’d gone into the flat and Logan all but ran to Finn’s side, and Leo was left feeling like the biggest idiot in the whole damn world.
He hadn’t stayed for long after that. Worried as he was about Remus, he’d followed him shortly after he’d left and hadn’t talked with anyone else at the party. He’d thought that’d be the end of it. It was weird now to sit next to Finn when he’d been checking his boyfriend out just a few days ago.
The sound of a pencil tapping against wood brought Leo back from his musings. He peeked to the side and caught Finn with his chin perched in one hand, the other playing with the thin stick at a high speed. Leo followed the movement, back and forth, back and forth, and then up as Finn raised his hand and brought the pencil to his mouth, the bottom end tugging his pink lip down and then letting go.
The rest of the room quieted down as Leo stared. There was something about the way Finn held the pencil in his long fingers, how the sun coming in from the window seemed to hug him, the specs of dust dancing in the air by his head. How his eyes looked brighter and the strands in his hair lit up like fire.
Finn looked like warmth.
Something like a chill ran down Leo’s back and he quickly averted his eyes.
Though he couldn’t keep them away for long. Apparently, Finn was one of those people that couldn’t sit still and, now that Leo’d noticed, he couldn’t ignore every little movement coming from him, his bouncing leg, how he shifted in his seat and that damn tapping again.
He tried to pay attention to class, he really did, but he was so aware of the boy sitting just a few inches away, that his eyes kept going back to him and all those little movements.
Not able to take it any longer, Leo leaned in and placed a hand on top of Finn’s, feeling him going still under his touch. “Stop it,” he whispered, their eyes locked. The other boy didn’t say anything, just glanced between Leo’s eyes and their joined hands.
Blushing, Leo pulled away and tried to focus on the front of the room, the heat from Finn’s hand still tingling at the tip of his fingers.
Stop this right now, Leo scolded himself. He has a boyfriend.
A boyfriend that he’d also felt attracted to. What the hell was wrong with him?
Determined to keep his mind out of troublesome boys, he managed to listen and take notes for about ten minutes. But then he felt eyes on him. He pretended not to notice as Finn kept stealing glances, no doubt trying to be inconspicuous about it, but, apparently, Finn was as subtle as a flying brick.
The thought tugged a smile out of Leo, who quickly schooled his expression back to one of polite interest. You just grabbed his hand out of nowhere, of course he’s staring, he sighed.
At the end of the class, the teacher wrote a list of things on the board and turned to face them. “This assignment will be the first big one you’ll have, and it will determine 10% of your score, so don’t slack off! Pair up before you go and remember, your deadline is in two weeks.”
There were a few groans at the prospect of having to do something in pairs, but everyone started gathering their things anyway and talking with each other, already forming their teams.
A nudge on his shoulder made Leo look to his left and then he had to fight the urge to jump back. Finn was leaning towards him, that crooked smile on his face again and, this close, Leo could see the freckles sprinkled over his nose and cheeks.
“I’m sorry, what?” he asked, a light blush colouring his face when he realised Finn had said something but he hadn’t listened.
Finn’s head tilted a bit to the side, the other corner of his mouth going up too. “I said, do you want to pair up with me?”
“Oh,” was all Leo could reply. He imagined working together for hours, maybe alone in a secluded part of the library… How would he ever concentrate on their work if he couldn’t even pay attention in class when they were sitting next to each other? On the other hand, Finn seemed like a nice guy and surely Leo had enough self control to keep a cool head. Just because he was slightly attracted to him it didn’t mean that things would escalate further, especially not when he knew nothing could ever happen.
“I mean, if you already have someone—” Finn started when Leo didn’t reply for a while.
“No, no, sorry. Yeah, that would be nice,” he smiled.
“Sweet. Are you free right now? My next class is in the afternoon, so we could go back to my place and get started, if you want.”
“That…” Leo hesitated, but then hardened his resolve. He could be friends with Finn, right? It would be nice to make new acquaintances at school and there was always the chance that he might see him and Logan again at Remus’ building. He could forget about one or two silly crushes, it wouldn’t be the first time he’d had to do it.
“That sounds good.”

Mills!! I got a little burst of inspiration from your reblog this morning 👀 hope you like it!
Finn didn’t know how Remus and Sirius had persuaded the bakery to allow a whole hockey team to help them pick a cake.
He’d never been to a wedding cake tasting before, but he liked weddings, and he loved cake, so it seemed like an ideal situation.
He was holding Logan’s hand in his, swinging it back and forth giddily as they walked. Logan smiled at him. “Excited much?”
“So much. Aren’t you? It’s a wedding cake tasting, Lo!”
Logan laughed. “Not for our wedding!”
“Not yet,” Finn corrected with a kiss to Logan’s cheek.
He held open the door to the bakery for his boyfriend, and a small bell alerted their entrance.
“You made it!” Sirius exclaimed, waving at them over their teammates’ heads. “Come sit, we’ve got some options out already.”
“Hey, don’t start without me!” Finn shimmied his way to the table and into a seat. “What tastes good, guys?”
The team launched into a play-by-play of frosting and fillings, and Logan watched his boyfriend fondly. Then someone bumped into him. “Désolé,” he excused himself, turning to find a very tall, very cute blonde balancing a new tray of cake slices.
“Non, non, c'est ma faute, désolé. Salut, Je suis Leo.” The man smiled, and the dimples on his cheeks seemed to impossibly soften his expression.
“Je suis Logan. Tu veux de l'aide?” He gestured at the tray.
“Non, Je l'ai, merci.” Leo’s accent was different from his, but he liked it. It was slower - and sweeter.
“Êtes-Vous sûr? Je Sui's fort.” Logan winked at him, and Leo blushed.
“Oh, Je suis sûr que tu es.” Leo shifted the tray to his other arm, a shadow of a smirk crossing his face. “Mais Je l'ai. Excuse Moi,” he said as he squeezed by Logan to the table.
Logan followed behind him and sat next to Finn, who promptly handed him a fork.
Sirius put his arm around Remus. “Got any favorites yet, mon loup?”
“I’m thinking this red velvet one or this chocolate lava one.” Remus pointed.
Cheers went up from the team, obviously favoring those flavors too.
Leo unloaded the cakes he was carrying. “Well, hold your horses. I got some more options here for y’all.”
Finn looked up at him with wide eyes. “You’re like, an angel. A cake angel.”
Leo laughed. “Something like that. I’m Leo, I’ll be helping y’all out here today. Tell me which ones y’all like best.” He started naming each piece. “Now, we’ve got chocolate espresso, Oreo, strawberry shortcake, caramel crunch, coconut, and lemon raspberry.”
Remus surveyed the new choices gravely. “I’m not sure we’ll be able to choose.”
“That’s what we’re here for, Loops,” Kasey said as he picked up a slice of coconut.
Finn reached for a slice of caramel crunch and he and Logan dug in. “Uch, too sweet.” he pushed the plate more towards his boyfriend.
“Non? What are you talking about, it’s delicious.”
“Your teeth are gonna rot out of your head one day, Tremzy.”
Logan took a bigger bite of cake.
“Loops, Cap, this oreo one is heaven on a plate!” Talker whooped. “You gotta pick it.”
“Nuh-uh, small cake best,” Evgeni decided.
Jackson snorted. “You mean the shortcake?”
“Is same thing.”
Finn bumped his shoulder lightly against Logan’s with a grin. “You’re my favorite short cake.”
“Fuck off, O’Hara.”
The team kept eating, commenting on each, and arguing over which should be the winner. Eventually, only crumbs were left on some plates, and Finn decided to make room for more.
He stacked the dishes and smiled at Logan before wandering away from the group.
“Everything tasting okay?” Leo asked him at the counter.
“Everything’s tasting fantastic. I’m Finn, by the way. Where should I put these?”
“Oh, I can take 'em.”
“Did you make all these samples?”
Leo nodded.
“They’re really good. Like, really good.” That got a small, modest chuckle out of the blonde.
“Thank you, I try.” His voice had a hint of something southern, and Finn thought it suited him well.
“Where are you from?”
“Where are you from?” Leo countered.
“New York, baby, born and raised.” Finn spread his arms with a grin. “You ever been?”
Leo looked up from the dishes, a playful gleam in his eyes. “Sweetheart, I’m from Louisiana. Gryffindor’s bout as far north as I can get without freezing.”
He laughed, hoping Leo didn’t see the blush creeping up his neck at the offhanded way he had just called Finn sweetheart.
“Harzy!” James startled him out of his thoughts with a clap on the shoulder. “Hanging out with the baker to try and smuggle some cake home?”
Finn jostled James sideways. “I’m making friends, Potts. Now, if that happens to come with some sweet benefits,” he glanced at Leo and smirked. “Who am I to say no?”
“Alright, alright, but let’s make friends later. The men of the hour need our final verdict.”
Leo watched as Finn was dragged back to the table. The redhead made his way back to his seat, and then turned to…
Kiss Logan?
Leo blinked.
Finn had kissed Logan, and then they’d smiled at each other.
What?
Leo didn’t know what was happening anymore. Wasn’t Finn just flirting with him? Wasn’t Logan? Sure, they were both super hot and definitely seemed out of his league socially, but he could flirt a little any day - except he hadn’t seen this plot twist coming at all. Honestly, he felt a little disappointed.
He watched the Lions methodically draw some sort of list or chart on a napkin about which cake to pick, and was so distracted that he didn’t even notice when one of them approached him.
“Your cakes, they’re very good.”
Leo smiled at the older man. “Thank you. You got a favorite?”
The man shrugged with a grin. “How can I chose?”
“I know the feeling,” Leo sighed.
The man’s eyes flickered for a second back to his team. “You don’t have a favorite?”
“Oh, I’ve got a couple,” Leo said absently as he dried the clean dishes. “Like you said, though. How can you chose?”
“But you can have more than one, at the same time, non?”
“Well, you know, some people like having more than one flavor. Not everyone, though. It can be tricky when what one person wants doesn’t line up with their partner wants.”
The man hummed thoughtfully. “It all works out eventually, though, non? Everyone ends up happy?”
Leo smiled as he stacked the last of the dishes. “I guess that’s true.”
“Dumo!” Sirius called. “What did you think of the oreo cake?”
The man Leo had been talking to gave Sirius a thumbs up before turning back with a smile. “See? Everything’s already working itself out.”
Oh my god oh my god oh my god

hey! i love your work so much and i had an idea. what about the whole team going to pride? or maybe just the cubs or coops, but i would love to see the whole team supporting and maybe breaking out flags of their own. :)))
Happy Pride, everyone!!! It has been such a wild year, but I hope you all find comfort and joy during this month <3 I'm sending you all love and hugs (or high-fives, if you prefer), as well as positive vibes for the summer. SW credit belongs to @lumosinlove as always!
Credit to @queercanoe for the the rainbow bracelet idea <3
“This is…this is really nice,” Sirius said as they stood in line for popsicles. His face glowed with happiness and Remus squeezed his hand where it laid over his shoulder.
“Better than last year?”
He hummed in thought. “I like being here without the Cup and all the cameras. It’s just us.”
“And half the team,” Remus added.
“True,” Sirius laughed, bending down to kiss his forehead. Some of the glitter Lily had managed to sprinkle over his head and smear on his cheeks fell onto Remus’ shirt, and he brushed it off with a laugh. “Love you.”
“Love you, too. The kids are still arguing.”
Sirius glanced behind them and snorted; on the other end of the block, Leo hitched Logan higher on his back as he held Finn’s baseball cap out of reach. Talker and James had started an impromptu game of volleyball with a stray balloon, and the sight of Regulus playing peekaboo with Harry using his pride flag cape sent a burst of happy butterflies through Remus’ stomach.
“D’you think they’ve even noticed we’re gone?”
“Doubt it.”
They tapped their popsicles together in a toast and meandered back to the group—the afternoon heat toned down some of the manic energy of the morning parade, and Remus was content to just wander hand-in-hand with his fiancé for a while.
Not your fiancé for long, he reminded himself as the ice cooled his mouth. Just five more days, and then you’ll have a ring, too.
He stood on his toes, still a little sore from dancing earlier in the day, and kissed Sirius’ cheek. “What was that for?”
“Nothing. Just ‘cause I love you.”
Sirius let out a slow breath and squeezed him a little tighter around the shoulders, catching a drip of syrupy red before it slid down to his elbow. “This is the perfect day.”
“It is, isn’t it? Ooo, blue raspberry.”
“Can I have a taste?”
“Of c—” Remus was cut off by warm lips against his own, shorting out every braincell in one fell swoop. You sly little shit, he thought, smiling into the kiss as Sirius dipped him back.
They straightened up after a moment and Sirius raised his eyebrows thoughtfully. “Yeah, that’s pretty good.”
“Your lips are purple.”
He licked his own half-melted popsicle before dragging Remus in for one more kiss, though both of them were almost laughing too hard for his plan to work. “There. Now we match.”
“Thanks, babes.”
“Hey!” Finn cupped his hands around his mouth, clearly giving up on retrieving his hat. “Are you done yet? I was promised popsicles!”
Remus flipped him off and pulled Sirius down by the collar of his shirt, suddenly uncaring of the stickiness making its chilly way down his forearm. It was their day to do that, after all; their day to be flamboyantly affectionate to anyone in sight, regardless of contracts and media and expectations. It was a day drenched in popsicle sugar where he could turn his soon-to-be-husband’s lips more purple than the dahlias he loved so much.
“You could’ve just said ‘no’,” Finn remarked as they rejoined the group, both a little flushed.
“As if you’ve kept your hands to yourself,” Remus teased, gesturing to the various smudges in Finn’s face paint.
He hesitated, then shrugged. “Good point.”
“I have them on occasion.” A burst of giggling caught both their attention and softness bloomed in Remus’ chest as Sirius tossed Harry a few inches into the air, making rocket ship noises. Next to him, Leo had set Logan down so he could lift Katie up and tickle her until she shrieked with joy.
“God, they’re cute,” Finn said around a mouthful of syrup-soaked ice. The look in his eyes was unmistakably fond, and Remus knew it was reflected on his own face.
“They are. The boyfriends aren’t bad, either.”
Finn snorted, then spluttered as he nearly spat out his popsicle, sending Remus into peals of laughter. “Stop it!” he complained, though the didn’t sound very upset at all. “I’m gonna get a brain freeze!”
“A brain freeze?” Sirius turned to Harry with exaggerated shock.
“Oh, no!” Harry gasped. Behind them, James stifled his smile in the side of Lily’s neck.
“It’s not lookin’ good, buddy,” Finn said with false gravity. “Popsicles are a dangerous food.”
Harry made grabby hands until Finn settled him on his hip, then took his face between two chubby hands and looked deep into his eyes. “Your lips are blue,” he proclaimed after a long moment.
“Are they?”
“Uh-huh. Tremzy’s got red lips, an’ Knutty’s got red lips, and Mama has pink lips, and Uncle Pads has purple lips.” Harry poked the side of his mouth. “You’ve gotta have purple lips, too.”
Finn raised his eyebrows at Remus over Harry’s shoulder. “Not a chance, Harzy.”
“We’re better kissers anyway,” Leo said with a grin as he sidled up and gave Finn a light peck. “Better, Pocket Pots?”
Harry stuck his tongue between his teeth in a comical imitation of Sirius’ concentration face; Remus shoulders shook as he held back his amusement. “Almonds.”
“What?”
“Almost,” Sirius corrected gently. “Not almonds. Close, though.”
“Tremzy!” Harry called. Logan looked up from Katie, who was quite happily upside down as he swung her like a clock pendulum. “You’ve gotta make Harzy’s lips purple!”
“Do I?” Logan glanced back down. “Can I set you down, ma princesse?”
“No!”
“Okay,” he laughed, hauling her over with careful steps. Finn leaned down to kiss him; over his shoulder, Leo and Harry made faces at each other.
“This is perfect,” Sirius murmured, resting his forehead against Remus’ (admittedly sweaty) hair. Remus closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and let the stress of wedding planning roll off his back. He could be surrounded by their family in a sea of color for just a little longer—they could be there together.
“I’m proud to be with you,” he said as Regulus clambered onto Leo’s back for ‘a better view’.
It was a cheesy sentiment, but they had never shied away from romcom moments before. He felt Sirius’ soft huff of breath on his temple. “Re…”
I’ll never get tired of the way you say my name. “That’s me.”
The sigh turned to quiet laughter and a kiss. “We are such a cliché.”
“But you love it.”
“Damn right I do.” His lips were sweet and a little sticky, still; Remus wanted to drown in the feeling. “I will always be proud to be with you.”
“Uncle Pads!”
“Yes?” Sirius lifted him out of Finn’s arms with a dramatic groan. “You’re growing up too fast!”
Harry squished his cheeks, then poked the tip of his nose. “Why don’t you wear rainbows?”
Sirius frowned slightly. “I’m wearing rainbows right now.”
“But you only wear them now.”
“You want me to wear rainbows every day?” He cast a look at Remus, who half-shrugged.
“You do look good.”
“Everybody should wear rainbows all the time,” Harry declared. Down the street, a series of party poppers went off, followed by loud cheering from another group.
“Excuse me?” a timid voice asked. Remus startled slightly and turned around; a small group of teenagers was huddled by the massive balloon arch. One young man held his phone up. “Could we—uh, could we get a picture with you guys?”
“Do you want me to take it for you?” Leo offered as Finn took Harry again.
The kid’s eyes went wide, and he nodded enthusiastically. “Sure, thanks!”
“Alright, on three!” Leo squinted in the sunshine as they gathered in a semicircle. “One, two, three, smile!”
“Could we get one with you, too?” one of the girls asked when he lowered the camera.
Sirius took the camera as they shuffled around and swapped positions, crowding close to the rainbow balloons while Harry played with Remus’ colorful suspenders. “Ready? Say cheese!”
“Cheese!” they chorused.
“I got a couple, just in case.” He handed the phone back to the first boy with a smile. “Are you guys having a good time?”
“Yeah, this is amazing,” he answered, a little breathless. “It’s—this is so cool. Thanks again.”
“Pas de problem.”
Remus glanced over just in time to see the girl bump her own rainbow bracelet with Leo’s; both of them were grinning broadly. “Have fun today, okay?” he said, giving the shortest of the group a high five. A jumble of goodbyes answered before they hurried back into the crowd, whispering among themselves while their pins flashed in the sun.
“They were cute,” Sirius said, watching them go with an indecipherable look. “Feels good to know it meant something, y’know?”
“It always does,” Remus agreed, snuggling against his side despite the heat. “I wish—”
Sirius looked down at him when he faltered; Harry yawned so wide his eyes closed. “What?”
“I wish we had this when we were kids.”
Regulus and Leo tumbled out of the rapidly-growing crowd, bickering over who got which part of the cotton candy, while Kasey stood as still as he could so Natalie could finish the small bi flag on his cheek. Sirius’ whole face lit up as he watched them. “It’s even better now.”
Remus watched the second wave of the parade build around them—people of every shape and size were decked out in a whole spectrum of colors, turning the street into a living rainbow in the afternoon sun. He tucked his hand into Sirius’ back pocket and laced their free hands together, listening to his heartbeat under his cheek. “This is the best thing we’ve ever done.”
“Coming to Pride?”
“No.” He held their hands up, and Sirius’ ring caught the light. “This.”

For a prompt! (Spoilers for the last chapter) anything about Remus playing on the team! Reactions, getting his jersey, just anything about the epilogue!
“Did you know about this?” Remus ran over to Sirius.
“Know about what?” Sirius asked with a wide smile.
“You idiot! Oh my god” Remus laughed and kissed him. Forcefully at first but slower and slower, soft lips on soft lips. Remus pulled away with a groan and hugged him again.
“Oh my god” he picked him up and spun him around.
“What happened?” Lily asked.
“Please tell me y’all got engaged.” Leo said.
“Not yet” Remus smiled.
“What happened?” James asked the same question as him wife.
“You’ll see soon enough.” Sirius smiled, looking up at Remus.
+++
“Announcements” Coach shouted over the noise of the locker room. It was technically still the off season but they still wanted to practice. Even though they just messed around the whole time.
“First off, season starts in 2 weeks.”
“Yeah it does” Thomas wooped and the team cheered.
“Second thing, I want all of you to meet Luka Weeks, our new trainer.”
The excited atmosphere of the locker room crashed. Everyone stopped in shock. Sirius and Remus both bit the inside of their cheeks to keep from smiling.
“Loops? What the hell?” James asked.
Remus just shrugged.
“And the last thing-”
“Hold on, hold on, hold on.” Kasey stopped him. “What do you mean ‘new trainer’? Is he just our new or is he our new trainer? What about Remus?”
Sirius could keep a straight face and burst out laughing, causing Remus to break too. Even Arthur and Moody chuckled lightly.
“What? What’s going on?” Leo asked in confusion.
“If you all would have let me finish.” Arthur said over Sirius and Remus’s giggles.
“The last thing, Remus is no longer your trainer-let me finish” he held up his hand as the team started to protest again. “Because he’s your new teammate.”
A level of silence that had never been reached before covered the locker room.
“What? How?” Logan broke it, looking between Remus and his Coach.
“The league reviewed his tapes, wanted him on the team.”
“Holy shit” James laughed. “Holy shit” he tackled Remus.
Everyone launched themselves onto their new teammate.
+++
“Hey, did you know that Loop isn’t our trainer this year?” James asked as they all ate scattered across Dumos kitchen and dining room.
“What?” All the girls heads shot up.
“Yeah. It’s this new guy. His name’s Luka Weeks.” Sirius nodded.
“He seems pretty nice. Haven’t really gotten a chance to meet him, though.” Remus shrugged.
“What the hell you guys?” Lily asked.
“Are we missing something?” Natalie looked at them.
“Luckily you haven’t gotten a chance to meet him yet.” Kasey carried on like his girlfriend hadn’t said anything. “There’s no way we’re allowing you to get injured. You’re a fucking machine on the ice. This team needs you.”
“What?” Celeste asked.
“You’re on the team?” Natalie asked at the same time.
“Are you being serious? This isn’t a joke?” Lily looked between all of the players.
“Nope” Remus shook his head with a smile.
“Oh my god” they all stood up and hugged him.
“Why didn’t you tell me, asshole.” Lily punched his arms before hugging him tight. “I’m so happy for you”
“Oww, thanks Lils” Remus laughed.
+++
“Holy fuck. I love you. I love you. I love you.” Sirius kissed Remus hard in the locker room.
“Love you too, baby.” Remus laughed.
At first the fans hated that Remus was on the team, calling favoritism. But after he got a hat trick during the first quarter of his very first NHL game, they changed their minds pretty quickly.
“Damn good, rookie.” James shook his head.
“Yes he is.” Sirius smiled up at his boyfriend, who leaned down and kissed his nose causing Sirius to giggle.
“I love you.” Remus smiled.
“Love you”

Leo’s 20th Birthday
Sooo It’s already the baby’s birthday here and I dont want to wait, so let the fluff begin!
Happy birthday, Leo! ☀️💛 Nutter butter baby! He will always be the baby, but technically he’s not even a teen anymore. Anyway. I hope you enjoy.
Birthday-boy and boyfriends by the incredible @lumosinlove
Idea from @noctualilith thank you
Yes, I am excited about a fictional characters birthday. Everyone that knows this ray of sunshine would fall in love.
CW: there is a bit of food mentioned
When Leo was 13, he celebrated his birthday with all of his best friends. Eloise made him a lemoncake and Wyatt took them out on the boat to go swimming. It was the last birthday, where he felt completely free in his actions.
When Leo was 14, he got his first crush. The first one he realised was a crush at least. He told no one. He was too afraid, not even of the teesing. He was afraid, because it was a boy. His friend to be exact. His birthday party was fun for him, he didnt know about the other guests. He focused on his friend. He wanted to spend the whole party with him. And they were friends, he could. So he did and he had fun.
When Leo was 16, he decided to tell his friend. Since they spent so much time together, his crush never really faded, so after two years he just decided fuck it. If it went horribly wrong, he didn‘t care anymore. He needed this out of his system. So Leo told him. His friend didn‘t feel the same, but he didn‘t seem to mind about Leo. He did tell him however, that it should rather be kept a secret, because if the others found out, he might even be thrown off the team. This was what terrified him. Before, he was scared of maybe loosing his friends, now he was scared of loosing everything. He‘d worked so hard for being where he was. He had a chance of playing in the NHL, if he kept it up, at least that‘s what his coach was telling him. So he decided to hide it.
When Leo was 17, he told his family. Leo gathered all his courage and told them at a family lunch. They had the best reaction he could have wished for, really, but he had lived to long thinking it‘s a bad thing, so he assumed they were just being nice parents. When they made him a bracelet however, he knew they hadn‘t lied. They wouldn‘t have thought about giving him this gift, if they had been disapointed in their son. They showed him, they were proud. He knew now, whatever happend, he would have his family standing behind him, supporting him. He could at least be open about his feelings, where it mattered the most, home. He could let himself go, gush about that cute boy he saw in the coffee shop and feel excepted everytime his father mentioned Leo at his age, settled down with his maybe-husband by then, possibly with children, running around in their backyard.
When Leo was 18, he got drafted into the NHL. His dream came true. All the sacrifices he had made to get there, were finally worth it, because he could turn his passion into his career. All the boys, he had forced himself not to look at for too long, so people wouldn‘t even question him. All the girls he had pretended to be interested in, those moments were worth it. He felt amazing. He achieved what he had worked for, but now he was facing a new problem. Even though Leo was a gay teenager, the naked guys walking around weren‘t actually a problem for him. Well, not all of them. Of course, the world was against him and chose two incredibly attractive people, who he couldn‘t even look at too long, nevermind kiss or date, to go with his NHL-goalie-gryffindor-dream package. He had to prove everyday how much he wanted to play hockey and how much he was willing to sacrifice.
Before Leo turned 19, he was hiding. He lived a dream, that slowly broke his heart. He was playing professinal hockey and loved it everyday, but he was also pretending everday, that he didn‘t want. So he hid it, because hockey was his dream and now was the time for hockey. He could probably still find a nice boyfriend at 40 years old, if they even kept him that long. For now he planned on staying focused on his career.
But before Leo turned 19, he also decided to just throw those plans out the window and kiss Finn. He hadn‘t planned it- not to say he didn‘t want to do it- it just shouldn‘t have happen, but it did. The second their lips touched though, he forgot why he shouldn‘t have done it. How could this not be right, when Finn and Leo both wanted it so much.
For a moment, at the airport he was reminded, why it was wrong. Why he couldn‘t risk it now. But then he thought about it. Thought about how much happier Sirius had been, how even a NHL player could have, what Leo wanted. And so he tried his best to get it.
And he did.
His 20th birthday was a wednesday.
Leo‘s eyes opened in one go and his feet jerked up.
„Logan!“, he groaned sleepily. The brunet had bellyflopped onto him, shaking him awake in an instant.
„Leo, Baby, Peanut, Nutty, Butty!“, Logans face looked like he had surprised himself with the last name, „That‘s a new one, but it works“, repositioning himself better on his boyfriends chest, hands supporting his head, he smiled dopely up at Leo.
Leo let his eyes slip closed for another second, Logans weight grounding him and his warmth surrounding him. It was too early. They had practice and he knew that, but it seemed earlier than usual. He slowly opened his eyes and stared at their alarm clock.
„Logan!“, he groaned again, as he saw, that they were awake an hour too early.
Logan shifted, having layed down his head on Leo‘s chest, he tilted his head up to look at the blond.  „As much as I love that my name is the only thing on your mind right now, a, Finn must be getting jealous and b, we did actually have a reason to wake you earlier.“ Then Logan leaned up and started trailing lingering kisses up his boyfriends neck over his jaw, finally reaching his mouth.
Leo happily complied and kissed him slowly. They broke apart to soon in Leo‘s opinion, but it was all worth it to just see as Finn came in through the door, still only dressed in his underwear. He was carrying a small box, wrapped in newspaper and a bright yellow bow tied around it. He sat down on the end of the bed and Logan moved off of Leo and next to the red head. They looked at him expectantly. He sat up slowly.
„Happy Birthday, Baby!“, both Logan and Finn more or less shouted as soon as Leo looked at them.  He was a bit overwhelmed, but then remembered. Today was his birthday. He hadn‘t really celebrated it for a few years, he didn‘t even know why. This however, warmed his heart. Both the boys he loved so much, beaming at him from the end of the bed.
„You know how hard it is to keep up a normal conversation with you, before saying that? I promised this one though“, he shoved Finn playfully, „that I would wait for him to finish everything. But I had to wake you! It‘s your birthday! Happy birthday, Peanut!“
Leo wasn‘t even sure if Logan had taken a breath in between his rambling but he smiled softly at them. Felling their love warming him, even through the distance between them.
„You already said that.“, Leo commented, but smiled, „Thank you both so much. Come here.“
They both more or less jumped at him, Leo recieving the best cuddles and a few more whispered ‚happy birthday“s from Logan and Finn, until they were all wrapped around each other, Leo in the middle. It felt nice to be in the middle for once. He held Logan securely in his arms, slowly stroking a hand over his side, Finn wrapped up around him, making him feel warm and protected. He liked being the big spoon and having Logan in the middle, but he could see himself sneaking in the middle every once i a while.
„We can still sleep for a bit.“, he heard Finn say from behind him. He had gotten the blankets over them again and was already burrying his nose in between Leo‘s shoulder blades. „Sorry for waking you this early, Nutty. We had to prepare things.“, Finn stopped for a second, like waiting for Leo‘s reaction, but then continued, „and we just couldn‘t wait to cuddle you.“
Leo made a soft noise, his hand combing through Logans hair, who was already back to sleep, really more like you expected from an excited baby, rather than a professinal hockey player. It was only then, Leo thought about what Finn had said. Under normal circumstances Leo might have sat up upruptly and ran to the kitchen, to the inevitable mess that must be there.
„Whatever it is you did-“, Leo started, but then thought again.
He was surrounded by love, on his birthday. The love he had always desired to have, espcially on his that day. All the fun events couples in movies had planned for each other to make their birthdays special, he had always wished for that. He had always thought, he could never have that, but now he did. He had it doubled.
Snuggling back further into Finns chest he repeated, already drifting back to sleep, „Whatever it is you did, thank you.“
