all right so i'm going to explain my personal headcanons for the birthdays of the main emperor's new groove characters and malina! i'm taking into account that the movie takes place in peru, which is in the southern hemisphere so the seasons are opposite to those in the US and europe. also, there's a book called disneystrology that assigns a different character to every single day of the year, so that can sort of be considered an official source for birthdays--but i kind of prefer to just take a look at the list, see if i like the date they picked for a given character, and if i don't then i just come up with my own headcanon for when their birthday is. so:

malina - she's always seemed like an autumn girl to me and i don't really know why, it's just the vibe i get. i headcanon that her birthday is on april 12th, which makes her an aries.

pacha - i always liked to think that he should have an earth sign--after all, his name essentially means "earth" in the inca language! so i headcanon his birthday to be may 10th, making him a taurus.

chicha - she's the only one who i actually keep the date from the disneystrology book for! it assigns her july 29th, and i like that because it makes her a leo which is a fire sign. coincidentally it is also when modern day peru celebrates its independence day, which feels fitting for chicha.

kronk - the disney wiki says his birthday is november 27th, but they don't have a source for this and i don't think it came up in new school but maybe i'm wrong?? i know it's not in kronk's new groove because i double-checked a transcript. so if anyone knows please tell me. however, i like this date so i keep it as my headcanon! it's at the very end of spring and kronk just feels to me like he should have a spring birthday. this makes him a sagittarius.

kuzco - i always see people headcanon him as a gemini or a leo, and he does have those vibes, but... those zodiac seasons are in winter in the southern hemisphere, so sadly it doesn't work. i also think his birthdays needs to be specifically in early summer to fit the timeline of him building a summer home + chicha having had her baby and it still being summer by the end of the movie. so my headcanon for his birthday is december 5th, making him, like kronk, a sagittarius.

yzma - and as for her... i imagine that her birthday is december 6th. the day after kuzco's. which means it's always overshadowed by the multiple days of excessive preperations and celebrations for the emperor's birthday and everyone always forgets about it except for her mother! well, and kronk, who somehow manages to always suddenly remember and scramble to prepare a gift at the last minute. this also means kuzco fired her just days before her birthday. ouch. at least it wasn't the day of her birthday.

💚As many of you know I was going through a lot emotionally and physically before this big trip to India. 🏝I booked it with the intention of treating myself after a challenging Spring, Summer and I didn’t know then that winter would be added to that list. 👛I went because I needed a tremendous shift and a shift is what I got. 🐟I was like a fish out of water. My sensitivity was heightened as if I was brand new to the world. A completely new time zone, people, smells, sights… it was other worldly. 🤷🏽‍♀️I went through stages: “Wow this is so great!-Why am I so anxious?-What did I get myself into?!!-Why does everything take so long here?-Can I buy all the scarfs?--To finally settling in. 🌴Any time I could get I was grounding. There was so much information at every second. @joanhymanschoolofyoga pushed us and shared valuable information not only about the topics but personal experiences which made her relatable and approachable. Her dedication to this practice is inspiring. On top of that the town gushes with culture in every corner. A lot to take in. 😝I tried so hard to maintain my rituals until I couldn’t keep up. I was running out of time and I finally surrendered. I stopped wearing sports bras a couple of times, wearing lotion or caring about how my hair looked. It felt like I was rebelling against capitalism, the patriarchy and all the unnecessary conditioning. ✈️Oddly enough when arriving I was so scared of the chaos. I felt I needed structure and containment. The Gemini #Vata #pitta #manifestinggenerator nature of me needs it. Or so she thought. 😮‍💨I saw my wounds and shadows show up often on this trip and I almost couldn’t handle it. However I gave myself compassion and grace. I remembered that I’m different and that’s what makes me, me. 🥰I had to go back to my solitude and connect back to Mother Earth. Bringing it all back to me because at the end of the day, I am all I have. 🍄I miss the chaos, the noise as odd as that sounds coming from me, the colors, smells, community, love, connection, land, laughter, my Indian family…. School is still in session on the 7th of July in England, the youngest in the year are usually people born in late August, so Nina/Joy are definitely among the youngest, because the cut off is the beginning of September. The UK is weird about people with bigger age gaps being in the same year, which is why people aren’t often held back as they are in the US. Oh! And also, what are your birthday/star sign head canons?

First of all, being in school during the month of July sounds like a cruel and unusual punishment and no one should be subjected to that. Second of all, listen, I'm just going off the information that was given to me. And clearly someone messed up because given what logically makes sense, if Nina and Joy should be the youngest, then Amber and Eddie should not have 1995 birthdays, and yet they do. So those fall birthdays should probably actually be 1994, however, they're not, so I'm gonna go with the unlikely-yet-plausible theory that somehow Nina and Joy got held back as like kindergartners and are actually the oldest. Yes, I know, doesn't make the most sense in the world but I'm working with the information I have. You may disagree, but I am holding firm because it's how my brain can make sense of the information I have been given.

And I have more detailed and fun headcanons about birthdays upcoming in a later post that I'll do in just a bit, but I will totally give a quick overview of my birthday/star sign headcanons for everyone. I've posted about the characters and what I think their astrology is before, but I will happily do it again. Along with star signs I've actually picked out specific birthdates for everyone, too, just for the fun of it because I wanted to.

Canon birthdays: there are 4 of them. I didn't choose these, they're canon, that's just what they are. Nina and Joy's birthday is obviously July 7, which makes them Cancers ♋. Amber's birthday is September 9, which makes her a Virgo ♍ (which btw is what I would've picked for her even if they didn't tell us her canon birthday). And Eddie's birthday is November 19, which makes him a Scorpio ♏

Patricia's birthday is either August 12 or December 8, which means she's either a Leo or a Sagittarius (both of which are fire signs, appropriately). As a Leo, I can tell you she is absolutely not a Leo, she is definitely a Sagittarius ♐ and her birthday is December 8th

Now we get into my headcanons. This is just what I personally believe all of them are, along with the birthdays I gave them just because. All based on ~vibes~. I'm gonna list these in age order. Also if any of you want specific reasons for why my choices are what they are, do feel free to ask, but I'm not gonna do it in this post

Mara is a Libra ♎. She definitely got fall vibes to me. Specifically October vibes, which is why I've made her birthday October 6th

Fabian is absolutely a Capricorn ♑ and everything about this boy just SCREAMS Capricorn. And he's totally one of those people that's born around Christmas and is really grumpy about it, so I've made his birthday December 23rd

KT is an Aquarius ♒ and her birthday is January 29th. She's definitely a January Aquarius and not a February Aquarius

Willow is 1000000000% a Pisces ♓ and for whatever reason she has winter birthday vibes to me so I've made her birthday February 24th

Mick is an Aries ♈ and he was giving me March vibes so his birthday is March 30th

Alfie is also an Aries ♈. And once I realized he was an Aries, I knew I absolutely had to make his birthday April Fool's Day (April 1st). I mean, it's fate

Jerome is definitely for sure a Gemini ♊ in my book, 100%. I gave him the birthday of June 11th, which funnily enough is also Eugene Simon's actual birthday, and I swear I didn't know this when I picked it, I swear, the cards just landed perfectly

OC Association for Yurielle

I was tagged by @mogwaei​ and though I know you are not very far with Part 1, I hope this isn't too spoilery for both you and new readers of my Dragonlance fic series: Time of the Hourglass. Thank you for tagging me!

This also kind of turned into a list of things, not only associated with Yurielle, but her favorites too. The portrait above is by me. I also did a companion piece of Raistlin Majere to match.

Animal: Fistandantilus frequently calls her 'little bird' and though I have yet to reveal what this means, there is a reason behind the symbolism!

Color: Indigo and silver but if I were to pick her favorite it'd probably be gold and black for her Hourglass Mage

Month: I don't think there is a particular month that would be associated her and since she was orphaned at a young age, Yurielle doesn't know her exact birthday. (but since Raistlin is technically a Gemini, I head canon that Yurielle is a Libra because I'm weird like that xD)

Song: This one is hard because most songs I have in mind are ones that represent both her and Raistlin and their relationship together. However, I did post a song in chapter 23 of Part 1 – 'The Humming' by Enya - that I still think represents Yurielle's mystery, magic, and purpose. And because I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan, the 'Prelude' song could be associated with Yurielle because of its pure, yet haunting melody - especially FFXIV's Prelude, because I created my character in that game to be her lol.

Day or Night: Nighttime because as Raistlin has said that she is the star that no darkness can cover

Plant: Dandelion, nettle, thistles, ivy – the sort of plants that most find to be weeds (at least in our world) Yurielle finds value and beauty in and will probably sit for hours doodling in her sketchbook while studying them.

Scent: Books and incense such as patchouli. But she is known to smell like peppermint, roses, orange blossoms and other various scents depending on her current favorite soap at the time.

Gemstone: Rainbow obsidian, labradorite -any dark stone that reveals an array of color and beauty upon closer inspection and light (because that is what she does for others)

Season: Autumn? While not particularly associated with her, I'd say that she probably enjoys fall the most. The chilled hush before winter and the way leaves crunch in her hands is probably some of Yurielle's favorite things! Plus, Raistlin often thinks of the Vallenwoods in Solace when looking at her hair, especially when sunlight highlights the red in it.

Place(s): Again, I can't think of any particular place associated with her but Yurielle loves the Shoikan Grove and the Tower of High Sorcery in Palanthas! She embraces the Grove's sadness and sings to soothe its ache while she can spend hours getting lost in and uncovering all the secrets within the tower itself. However, it's not the typical secrets one would expect a wizard would search for inside, but rather the forgotten, ordinary items – be it a button rolled under a dresser, a hairpin forgotten under a rug – she likes to find them and discover their secrets.

Element: Light. For reasons.

Food & drink: Dandelion tea and ginger snap cookies. She also has a sweet tooth and enjoys a good sticky bun or sweet roll! ~~~ I think that about covers her for now.
