A lot of people on here and various apps makes fun of people for liking a band's most popular song, like who cares?? I can like enter sandman or freak on a leash or even bohemian rhapsody without having some stupid person online saying "oh their overrated" "oh you're taste is trash" Its so dumb just let people like whatever the hell they want without criticizing them?? Just because its the bands most popular song doesn't mean that its bad or anything like that. People are not going to gravitate to the 100 stream deep cut you grasp.

I'm gonna be doing quick kofi doodles to help with moving costs!

So here's how it's gonna go:

Each $5 gets 5 minutes of doodle time. So up to $20 for a 20 minute doodle. I won't go over 20 minutes, so if you tip more than that, you will not get more time for your doodle.

Only 1 character per doodle.

If you want something specific of the character, keep it simple.

Make sure to provide a reference for the character if it is an OC.

I will do suggestive, but no full NSFW.

I was at a bookstore with a friend the other day and I was looking at a book in German that I was interested in buying, but then I saw that it was a translation and had originally been written in French

I commented idly to my friend "Sometimes I don't buy a book because it's a translation and I always prefer to read in the original language when possible" and she said in an agreeing-with-me way, "Yeah it would make more sense to read it in English"

and I realized she assumed I meant English when I said "original language"

but I couldn't bring myself to say "Yeah, or French or Dutch or Spanish or Italian or Portuguese or one of the other languages I read..." because like. who says that kind of thing.

✨Gif Coloring✨

Hello everyone! After having a conversation with the lovely @bizarrelittlemew​, and being inspired by her immaculate Gif-Coloring Post, I decided to follow suit with some examples of my own. I make this post to stand in solidarity with her, as well as all our fellow gif-makers, and to show that gif-making is in fact a very time-consuming process! It’s not as simple as feeding frames into a program and *poof*, you’re done. There are in fact numerous, numerous, numerous steps that go into beautifying footage for your viewing pleasure!

The “raw” footage is on the left (in quotations because it is still trimmed down, and the frame rate has been edited, but the original lighting/coloring remains), and my edited versions are on the right.

As you can see, quite a bit different lol! My process usually involves picking the scene, shortening said scene in my video editing program to the desired amount of frames, removing frame interpolation, cropping it down to the proper size, removing any fun little frame artifacts, playing around with the desired frame rate, before beginning to manipulate the lighting, levels, contrast, and colors. Then, I will often have to sharpen and blur to my liking, which is a whole process on its own, before fist-fighting Photoshop’s memory issues l m a o.

And even all of that does not account for what others may do, such as overlaying gifs within gifs, creating word art, working with geometric shapes, etc etc!

It’s a process, and it’s a form of art. And just as you wouldn’t re-post someone’s fanfic, someone’s video, or someone’s music, please don’t re-post gifs without credit! Reblog from the source, use the add gif function, or include the artist’s @ if needed be! It’s quick, it’s easy, and it’s appreciated more than you know.

who/what is redanian?

Redanian Intelligence is a site that collects and shares info about the filming of various fantasy TV shows. Among other things, they have contacts in casting, so they're a great source of who will actually be in a show. Or even earlier in production, with descriptions of the roles a show is casting and the sort of actors they're looking for.

For example, this is their article for HOTD season 2. The section of "actors with unknown roles" tends to inspire a lot of fan speculation, but they typically turn out to be unnamed servants/soldiers or smallfolk or very minor noble characters. But as I was saying, the role of Benjicot Blackwood wasn't listed in the article, and the actor who played "Davos Blackwood" wasn't even there as an unknown, so when people were thinking the episode 3 trailer kid had to be Bloody Ben, I was worried that couldn't be true. And well... 🤷‍♀️

I just have to remind myself sometimes that no matter what anyone else says, the way a piece of media makes me feel and the positive impact it has had on my queer identity is valid, and that tearing myself apart thinking I have to defend it or questioning my own place within queer communities is not at all important when compared to the almost tangible sense of 'rightness' that piece of media helped me to feel about myself.
