Naive
Tumblr media
The war had ended 4 years ago, but the world was far from perfect. You were one of the middle men of the Fire Nation. You felt that the war was useless, but you never stepped out of line. Although you were a strong bender, you ran away from a possible career in the army and chose to be a guard in the Royal Palace. Unfortunately for you, this was the beginning of your downfall.
Y/N pov:
I still remember the happiness I felt when Prince Lu Ten allowed me to work as a palace guard. I had always seen the young prince as a role model and I was sure that we would have a great time playing pranks around the palace. But then he left for the army and my world shattered. I was assigned as Prince Zuko's guardian and I swore that I would protect him with my life.
Although I got along well with Zuko, Princess Azula was a completely different story. Since the first day of work, Princess Ursa had tasked me with punishing her disobedient daughter. She knew that not even Ozai would try something dirty with one of Prince Lu Ten's guards. Ozai was evil, not stupid!
A/N pov:
You tried to be as nice as possible with Azula, but the little witch was doing annoying things just to get your attention. Fortunately for you, you escaped the palace once Zuko was exiled. You thought you would never see her again, but fate did not agree.
At Zuko's request, you agreed to supervise the psychotic princess. Although you knew you didn't need anyone to control the little witch, you accepted the help of 5 other capable benders. Azula was just as you remembered her, a broken person who would do anything for the slightest bit of attention. She never fooled you, no matter how hard she tried.
Y/N pov:
The prison was by far the sickest and most horrible I had seen. The prisoners were treated like worthless toys by the guards. I didn't care, the prisoners had committed more heinous crimes than I could count. But one day I exploded.
I was walking towards the princess's cell mentally preparing to force her to eat, when I started hearing screams. I rushed to the cell and almost broke the door. My blood started to boil at the scene in front of me.Two guards were trying to immobilize the terrified princess, and another was trying to tear her clothes. You gave in to your anger and destroyed two of them with a bolt of lightning. The next few minutes were a frenzy of blood, screams and flames.
When I regained control, I was in a dense forest with the princess.
Azula: are you ok Y/N? You took some brutal hits!
Y/N: why do you care? Shouldn't you kill me and run?
Azula: We both know you're the only person I wouldn't kill.
Y/N: so you can be honest? surprising!
Azula: You know very well that I never lied to you! You lied to yourself all your life! For once, be honest with yourself Y/N!
Y/N: to be honest with myself? Sure! I am an idiot! I've always been an idiot! You know why? Because I always let you destroy my life!
Azula: Maybe if you had seen from the beginning that we were made for each other, now we would rule the world together! But nooo! You had to run away with my idiot brother! And don't think I didn't find out about your little business with that bitch!
A cold shiver ran down my spine when I saw her demonic grin.Suddenly everything made sense. The way she always seemed to watch me from the shadows, the fact that Ozai had allowed me to stay in the palace even after exile, all my friends were horrified by the thought of staying in the same room with me. All this time I was being manipulated by a girl 10 years younger than me! Azula starts laughing and clapping.
Azula: Yes! I knew you were a smart boy!
Y/N: stay away from me!
Azula: oh come on Y/N! What will you do? You are a criminal now! welcome to the family!
Y/N: you are crazy! You are a monster! Iroh was right! You must fall!
Azula: No, I don't have to! What I have to do is prove to you that you cannot survive without me!
Y/N: what? Azula! Don't you dare hurt me!
Azula: don't you dare leave me ever again! You are mine, we are made for each other! And don't you dare to lie to yourself! We all know you would never kill me! no one will save you from me!
Y/N: when Zuko finds out we're missing...
Azula: Zuzu? Oh dear, you are so naive! He sent you into my clutches! My dear brother didn't want to lose me, after everything that happened he still loves me! How much were you worth to him? A promise! All I had to do was promise to take my meds, not try to kill again him and blah blah blah
Although I do not own the characters from avatar the last airbender, this work belongs to me! I sincerely hope you liked it. please rate it and leave a comment! follow me to see my next posts! Don’t forget that the request are open💖💖💨

Angel blade? Check. Hex bags? Check. An array of knives? Check. A leather jacket that’s also bulletproof? Check. High-heeled boots that can stab a man? Check. Anti-angel powder you created? Check. You grab two of your knives and holster them onto your thighs as well as slide the angel blade into your right boot. You really don’t need these weapons considering you’re half-demon, half-witch but you like to be prepared anyways.
You’re on the path of revenge and won’t stop until all three of your targets are dead. Pictures of them hang on your wall as a reminder that your father died for nothing, and they are going to pay for it with their lives.
Sam Winchester. Dean Winchester. Castiel. Three dead men walking.
“I promise, Dad, I won’t fail you now,” you say to the sky.
Your dad isn’t in Heaven or Hell but in the Empty. He’s sleeping and won’t be able to hear you but on the off chance that he is, you want him to know you’re going to finish what was taken from him. Your dad is Asmodeus who was one of the most powerful Princes of Hell. He was doing great things for the world but couldn’t finish because he was done dirty by Sam, Dean, and Castiel. They’d always fight him every step of the way but he kept you out of family drama like that. He was focused on training you to rule next to him, to take over what he was doing. He did nothing but good things for the world. Yes, he was a demon, but he oversaw all those evil things and overcame them.
So, when you heard of his death and the people behind it, you started running on this revenge path to kill those responsible for your father’s death. There’s only one place in the world where these three would reside, and it’s in the most secure place in the world. A few higher-power Gods have gotten through the Bunkers warding, but you’re confident enough that you can bypass it as well.
After finishing your checklist, you stuff a picture of your dad into your breast pocket and head out. With your demonic and witch powers, you’re able to travel to the Bunker with just a thought. You’ve never been here before, but all you had to do was think of the last place your dad was in and go from there. This place is disgusting and filthy and red with the blood of their victims, ones that they can never wash away.
You’re going to burn it to the ground with their dead bodies still inside it.
The Bunker has advanced warding all around it to keep monsters out. They were very efficient in the 50s, but you’re not going to let that stop you. Asmodeus had taught you how to bypass shit like this and put you through many tests to make sure you were capable of doing so. You run your hand in the sky from left to right, allowing the warding to appear so you can physically see them. They glow dull blue and glitch in and out of existence but it’s enough for you to see which symbols you need to get rid of.
You take out a hex bag and open it up to reveal the contents. If you just alter some of the ingredients, you can make a magical spell that will erase the warding permanently. You use your magic to transform some of the ingredients into others, and you throw it at the symbol you want. The entire building shakes upon the removal of the warding symbol.
Whoever is inside will know you’re here so you have to work fast.
Sam, Dean, and Castiel are inside the library doing some research when they feel the building shake.
“What the hell is that?” Dean asks. Ten minutes later, the building shakes again. “Okay, that’s coming from here. Cas, can you see what it is?”
“Yes.”
Castiel stares at the ground as he projects his power to the outside of the Bunker to see what is going on. If he can’t find anything, he’d search the entire Bunker for the source. Castiel sees a young woman fiddling with a hex bag before throwing it at another warding. He loses concentration when the building shakes again.
“There’s someone trying to get in,” Castiel says. “She’s burning off the warding to bypass it, which means she’s not human. We need to prepare for an attack.”
Castiel and the brothers get ready for the attack just as you burn off the last warding. You leave your hex bags outside since you won’t need them anymore. You blast the front metal door clean off the hinges and walk inside the Bunker. It’s completely empty from what you can tell but you’re not going to let looks be deceiving. You walk down the metal stairs and peer into the library from the war room.
You hear it before you see it. The whiz of something flying right at you. You quickly move only to see an angel blade get stuck into the wall behind you. You slowly turn to the person who threw it with deadly black eyes, and Sam stands there with wide eyes. He really thought that was going to work. You use your demonic powers on Sam and throw him across the entire library into the telescope in the back. Dean steps out from behind a bookshelf but you’re way ahead of him.
You teleport to right behind him and put both hands on either side of his head. He’s forced to his knees as you use your powers to burn his brain. His yells of pain are what cause Sam to push back his pain to help his brother.
“Dean!” Sam yells and starts to run at you.
You let go of Dean only to blast Sam into one of the concrete pillars. You keep him suspended in the air and turn to Dean who is now standing up. You don’t give him time to attack you and pin him to another pillar effortlessly. You slowly make a fist with your right hand and both brothers’ chests close up as if there is something weighing heavily on them.
“There’s a third one. Where is Castiel?” you ask.
Before they have a chance to answer, you’re tackled to the ground by the angel. His eyes glow bright blue with the more grace he’s using to subdue you. You smirk up at him completely unaffected by his efforts to stop you. Your eyes switch from their normal color to pitch black so you can let him know he’s not the one in charge.
“You’re no match for me,” you growl.
You reach into your pants pocket and grab a fistful of the powder you created to subdue angels. You shove the powder into his eyes and watch as it starts to burn him from the inside. Castiel cries out in pain and falls back, and you get up without a scratch on you. You lift the angel into the air and blast him into the war room, over the war table, and into the metal staircase. He hits it so hard that he actually bends the metal out of shape.
You turn back to the brothers who are still suspended in the air and grab a knife from one of your thigh holsters. You run the blade over Sam’s chest and press hard enough to draw blood. He tries not to let it show how much you’re hurting him even though you know it’s pretty painful. You move to Dean and do the same thing so they both have matching wounds.
“I’ve been waiting a long time to get you three completely at my mercy.”
“Who the fuck are you?” Dean gasps.
“You don’t know me but you know my father. Does Asmodeus ring a bell to any of you?” you ask angrily. Sam and Dean have a look of recognition across their faces. “You three will pay for his death. I’ll make it rain blood.”
You slash Sam and Dean again, this time on their legs.
“Asmodeus was the bad guy,” Castiel says from behind you.
His eyes are red from the powder but he’s fighting through the pain to try and appeal to your humanity. You turn to Castiel with red-hot angry eyes.
“He was my father!” you yell. “He loved me and you killed him!”
You take the angel blade from your boot and throw it at Castiel as hard as you can. The angel blade impales Castiel’s shoulder and throws him into the wall so that the blade is stuck in the wall as well. He shouts in pain but he isn’t going anywhere. You turn to the older Winchester and grab his throat tightly with black eyes, and you unsheath one of your knives.
“Any last words?”
“We didn’t kill him,” Dean struggles to get out.
“Yes, you did! I saw you three leave the scene of the crime. He died here! I went to find him only to see but ash where he stood.”
“It wasn’t us,” Dean gasps when your hand gets tighter. “It was Gabriel, the archangel.”
False memories filter through your brain making you confused.
“Do not lie to me!”
You cut his brother as repentant for Dean’s lies.
“We’re not lying. Asmodeus kidnapped Gabriel and tortured him for his grace. He was chugging the stuff to get more powerful.”
You let go of Dean’s neck and take a step back from him.
“No, you’re lying to me. My dad was loving and caring.”
“He was a psycho maniac who only cared about power,” Sam bites out. “He was manipulating you into thinking he loved you.”
The memories you have of your dad being loyal and loving are replaced with memories of the truth. Your father trained you and helped you hone your powers to make you more powerful only to steal a bit of power each and every day. No, he was a loving father. Then why are you having these memories replaced? Has he been manipulating you even after he died? Your magic is released on Sam and Dean so they fall to the ground in heaps of coughs and groans. You cry out in pain and clutch your head tightly.
“Stop putting these memories in my head!”
“We’re not the ones doing it. Your dad was evil but you don’t have to be,” Sam says gently. “You can choose a different path than he did.”
You’re even more confused now. You don’t immediately want to kill them because you’re confused as to who your father really was. In order to determine that, you need to go back and look into his life through the victims he had and the people he associated with.
“What have I done?” you whisper fearfully.
Castiel grabs the handle of the angel blade and yanks it out of the wall with his incredible strength.
“You were manipulated. You didn’t know what you were doing,” Sam says.
“I’m so sorry,” you cry and back away from them.
You quickly leave the Bunker to rethink your entire life’s purpose. Everything you thought you knew is a complete lie. You have no idea who you are anymore.

"Seemed sound... right. Sometimes I forget I'm in the presence of demons." It wasn't an insult, no, but there were parts of the witch that struggled with keeping her moral compass intact. A compass that her brothers had been able to preserve since they had kept her from being too jaded at the hands of the coven and the Foxwoods. Yet, she could feel herself slipping further and further away from it, especially with the admission that she would use her abilities to enact some sort of punishment on two people she cared about– even if it was just in her eyes. "It's a talent that I don't like to use very often but apparently I can surprise myself at times." Her gaze moved from the pendant and the journal she'd been obsessing over to her Prince at the sound of her name, a small smile on her face watching as he knelt before her. An act she never would have thought he would do at first. "I know what they did, Envy, I remember," she replied quietly as her smile slowly faded, brows furrowing with worry, hands gripping his tightly, "but I also know that the coven could command people like my brothers to fight and defend them. People that have no choice but to protect their loved ones just like my brothers did what they had to in order to protect me. That's what I can't get over... if the coven was all evil, it would be different but it's not. There are people that are scared, people that are manipulated and we'll be taking advantage of that." She leaned forward, pressing his hands that were clasped into hers against her forehead. Gianna knew she couldn't back out now, everything was already in progress. Everyone expected her to do what was necessary to bring back the First Daughter and restore the balance of the First Family. She was a descendent of the first Family herself, so why was this so hard? Gianna took a deep breath before raising back up and nodding. "I can do it, as long as you're there, I can do it."
Tumblr media
Did Envy feel terrible that his technical brother-in-law was subdued by rash means and sent away with his own brother in tow? Not exactly. He himself already proven the extremes he traveled for Gianna, no wonder Lust would do the same. "No, I didn't get the chance to consider how weird or not Isabel was being when the idea seemed sound. You know, Sugarplum, I'd appreciate that spark of darkness in you if I didn't realize you can make anyone feel whatever you want." The Prince hummed lightly, the switch turning for his darker impulses and they would have remained on had he not been a witness to the witch absorbing the key information he and Greed concluded at the party. Envy's gaze landed on her hands, adoring the anxious tick, before rising from his seat, "Gianna," He approached her chair, immediately lowering himself in a kneel before his queen, "Remember what the coven did to your brothers, remember what they could've done to you. You, Gi, who they used against your own family so mercilessly." He reached out and took the girl's hands in his, squeezing firmly, "Focus on my emotions instead throughout the entire spell. My adoration, my determination, my love. I'll be by your side."

Camila Noceda and Flawed Parenting
A perspective by a flawed person with loving but extremely flawed parents
I’m genuinely baffled at some people’s hostile reaction towards Camila. Like… do any of you have flawless parents that always know the best solution instantly, make no mistakes and never get emotional?
My parents are great. They’re super supportive and I love them very, very much. Overall I think I got very lucky in the parents department.
But god, they are far from flawless. I still live at home, and despite all the good, there’s moments when I can’t take my dad anymore. He’s the kind of dad that stayed up until two am to help me with homework when I was in school, and he does so, so many things to make sure I’m happy. I know that. But despite all of this, I have told my mom in emotional moments before that I’m not sure if I can keep living with him, because for all his good sides, he has a couple of fatal flaws that sometimes make him unbearable.
My mom listens to me and is very open to being educated on certain topics, but she has her flaws, too. She hates when I fight with my dad, and gets so torn up about it that I’ve once apologized to my dad out of fear of her getting into a car crash otherwise. She’s very vocal about certain flaws of mine, and sometimes uses the things she does for me as leverage against me when she gets very emotional.
And both of my parents pay a lot more attention to my brother because he needs it more, because he’s more of a “problem child” while I “seem so capable” even when I’m not.
And guess what? I’m not a perfect child. I make mistakes sometimes, some of them pretty severe. Just like Luz, I’m the kind of person that struggles to communicate certain issues of mine to her parents. I’m stubborn, and when I get emotional, I say very hurtful things sometimes. So do they.
And this has nothing to do with my parents being horrible or abusive. They’re neither of those things.
The takeaway from this should not be that my entire family is made up of terrible people, but that we’re all flawed in our own ways, despite loving each other and trying our best. There’s things about my parents I wish I could change, and there are things about me that my parents wish they could change. And to an extent, that’s perfectly normal.
In our strengths and flaws and frustration with each other, we’re all human.
Specific, spoiler-y Camila and Luz things under the cut since this got very long.
We have no indication that Camila has a pattern of emotionally manipulating Luz. Her “emotional manipulation” as I’ve seen some people put it, is people for some reason thinking that the second you become an adult, you’re suddenly perfect and can no longer make mistakes, lest you’ll be dubbed horrible and abusive.
The whole concept is absurd to me. There is no perfect way to parent. There simply isn’t. Of course, there’s some genuinely abusive patterns that are horrible and inexcusable. But out of the parenting styles that aren’t, which one works depends on a number of factors, one of which absolutely includes that every child is different and has different needs. Camila is an amazing parent for Vee, giving the kid everything she’s ever longed for. She’s not an ideal parent for Luz. And that’s because Luz and Vee have fundamentally different needs.
Likewise, Luz is a pretty great child for Eda, but not a perfect fit for Camila. Luz relates to Eda a lot more than she relates to her mom, and that’s why the two of them have an easier time understanding each other. Both of these mother-child relationships exist, and one is not more doomed to fail than the other, but I think you’ll agree that the better you understand someone and where they’re coming from, the easier it is to communicate, pick up on certain signs, etc.
As mom and daughter, Camila and Luz are both flawed and have issues seeing the other’s perspective because of how different they are. And we should simultaneously acknowledge both of their roles in the issue and give both of them the space to learn and grow past those issues.
Luz struggles to communicate her problems. She doesn’t want to burden people in the demon realm, and it’s a given that this started out as not wanting to burden her mom. So she keeps quiet about her issues. Camila tries hard but can’t read her daughter’s mind, so there’s only so much she can do to understand and help the way Luz needs her to. Hell, Eda, who Luz is a lot more open with than her mom, struggles to help her, because Luz doesn’t tell her what’s wrong. I don’t see anyone calling Eda a terrible mom for that.
Camila tries her best, but she struggles to understand her daughter because of this, and because of how fundamentally different they are. She loves Luz’s creativity, we actively see her supporting it in the new episode—she keeps the weird stuff Luz made because she thinks Luz will regret throwing it away, and even plays along in what she assumes to be some elaborate role play because “she’s glad Luz kept her creativity even though it’s not made things easy for her at school”. But at the beginning of the show, said creativity got out of hand and people got hurt. Luz could’ve gotten hurt. So of course Camila had to interfere. I love Luz dearly, but she thought it was okay to bring snakes to school and set off fireworks inside a school building. Creativity is great. Doing reckless stuff that causes people to get hurt is not.
In sending Luz to camp, Camila tried to have someone else fix her issue because she didn’t know how to help Luz. That was a mistake, and a bad one at that, but she’s realizing that. She looks disheartened when Vee tries to throw out Luz’s stuff, because she never meant to change her daughter or take that part of her away. She just thought Luz needed a reality check—which, for the record, is something the narrative actually agrees with.
Luz spends her time in the demon realm getting reality check after reality check, realizing that even her ideal fantasy world where she has everything she always wanted doesn’t mean she’s free of consequences. She goes overboard constantly, causing:
-Eda to be forced to fly into a trap because Luz is chasing a fantasy (Witches before Wizards)
-Eda to almost be branded by her sister because Luz doesn’t think through why Eda doesn’t use magic to publicly announce her presence constantly (Once Upon a Swap)
-Eda and the twins to get kidnapped by a Slitherbeast because Luz stole Amity’s wand (Adventures in the Elements)
-Her friends to get hurt when she goes overboard trying to help Willow (Wing it like Witches)
-Eda to be captured and almost petrified because Luz thought she could just steal from the Emperor with no consequences in an attempt to help (Agony of a Witch)
I’m like 90% sure these aren’t even all. None of those make her a terrible person, for the record, but as all humans are, she is flawed and makes bad choices. She learns from these experiences and matures, just like her mom had hoped she would at camp. She’s also made friends there, which was another thing Camila wanted for her daughter.
You’ll probably realize that a lot of Luz’s behaviors I mentioned follow one of two patterns: 1. Luz’s idealized fantasy world causing problems, when she walks around with rose tinted glasses and gets people in trouble in the process because she hasn’t thought about the consequences, and 2. Luz trying to help someone she loves, but instead making things worse in the progress. The issue with this one is often that she doesn’t communicate her ideas/listen to the people she’s trying to help—like when Willow and Gus said they’ve had enough of Grudgby, or how she never actually talks to Eda about the healing hat idea before doing something reckless.
…does the latter one sound familiar to you at all? No? Because it’s the exact same thing that Camila did.
Some of the things Luz does are reckless and actively endanger others and herself, and that’s something that I think we need to acknowledge before judging Camila. As Luz’s mom, it’s Camila’s job to interfere in those situations. That she made a mistake while trying to protect Luz doesn’t make her a terrible person, especially as, again, the narrative proves her right to an extent.
I’m not saying her making Luz promise to come back and stay isn’t something that hurt Luz—it absolutely is. But it was born out of desperation. She’s emotional and in shock. She’s so full of pain and regret. She just wants her fourteen year old daughter home safe, and there’s nothing abusive or even morally ambiguous about that.
From Luz’s perspective, what she says is absolutely heartbreaking, but from Camila’s, it’s perfectly reasonable. I doubt Camila has the full picture, but even if she does, she’s had a full fifteen seconds to process that her daughter has not only been lying to her for months, but chose to leave her, and is in the demon realm of all places. Of course she’d be emotional and upset about that! Who wouldn’t? Camila isn’t a robot. If she’d been calm about this I’d be way more concerned, honestly.
My parents don’t get mad that easily, but if I would lie to them for weeks on end, they’d be pissed off too, not even taking the running away from home part into account. That’s a normal thing. People don’t like being lied to. Camila is absolutely devastated in that moment because she’s scared that Luz left because she hates her, when Luz actively states that her leaving wasn’t about her mom—which is another thing we should really be acknowledging.
Abusive parents suck and abuse should obviously never be apologized or trivialized, but saying something hurtful in the heat of the moment isn’t the same thing as being an abusive parent. My parents have done this. I’ve done this. And yes, those things can be emotionally manipulative, but there’s a huge difference in whether that’s a habit or a person speaking out of hurt and desperation in a very specific context. I doubt there’s anyone on the entire planet that hasn’t had a bad moment where they’ve said something like this because they were hurting. People lash out when they hurt, and they beg for reassurance when they’re scared. That’s something we all do.
The whole mindset of “all parents have to be perfect and can never get upset or make any mistakes” is harmful as hell, and honestly also very unrealistic. No parent is perfect, and especially people like me who have a relationship with their parents that’s very good overall should know that.
Once you have a child, parenting is a non-stop learning process, every day for the rest of your life. Taking away that room to grow and expecting perfection isn’t helping anyone, especially not struggling single parents.
And I see Camila as someone who is very willing to learn, because at the end of the day, all she wants is for Luz to be happy. Let’s give her some time to wrap her head around this whole situation. Let’s see what she says once she sees for herself how happy Luz is in that world, may it be via the videos eventually coming through or Camila visiting and meeting Luz’s found family, her friends and her girlfriend.
Ultimately, I don’t think Camila will force Luz to stay at home, but we have to give her some time. She wants what’s best for Luz, and she’s gonna need some convincing that a dangerous magical world is what’s best. I feel like that’s very normal considering the circumstances.
Her and Luz need to work on their communication on both ends, they both have things to learn, but I’m certain they’ll manage to fix their relationship in the long run.
If the bunk bed is any indication, I think Vee is gonna stay in the human realm permanently while Luz sleeps at home but keeps attending Hexside in the daytime. That feels like a solution that keeps everyone happy, and allows Luz to spend time with all the people she loves. I can’t see her being forced to choose at the end.
As a closing statement: Eda isn’t an ideal mom, Amity isn’t an ideal friend or girlfriend and neither is Luz, Lilith isn’t an ideal sister… but that’s because no one is ever an ideal anything. Being flawed is a big part of being human. Everyone has different facets to their personality. Their flaws are what makes them such great, relatable, believable characters.
And I feel the same way about Camila. She’s an extremely believable character that reminds me of my own parents, flawed but very loving nonetheless.
(Also honestly, I think it’s pretty telling that some of you guys immediately bash the black single mom that’s obviously trying her hardest while giving the benefit of the doubt to Alador, who has been portrayed as neglecting and threatened his six year old daughter on screen. This was already a thing before we knew much about either of them, and I’m disappointed but unfortunately not very surprised that it still is.)

Ah, and season 3 of The Owl House begins with an excellent opener. Thanks to Them is out! And despite the fact that no one asked, you get to listen to my thoughts anyway, o mysterious readers of the void. Spoilers - I had a lot of thoughts. Also spoilers - this post is about TOH S3 premiere, Thanks to Them. Don’t read further if you haven’t seen it yet.
First off, the opening sequence was a great reminder of where we were coming into S3, and extends the rain scene enough to give us a sense of how it becomes the post time skip status quo. Speaking of, watching the kids be normal teenagers in the human realm is fantastic, and I love that they’ve gotten quite a bit closer with time. The Owl House has always been good at working within time restraints to still give us the stuff needed to properly tell the story, and this time skip is no exception.
I also love the dive into Luz and Hunter’s relationship Were I to sum their relationship in this episode up, they sometimes enable each other’s worst impulses, but they’re also there for each other’s darkest moments. It’s a satisfying place for them to end up after the relationship building they went through over S2. They’ve both seen the other at their worst, and then decided, grudgingly at first but more readily over time, that they won’t judge each other for it, and that they like each other despite it. They end up as confidants and family by this episode, as verbally confirmed by Luz, and it’s just sweet to see these two care about each other.
And then there’s the dirty goop boy himself, Mr. Phillip “Belos” Wittebane. Still devoted to his plan of witch genocide to save the souls of humanity, and still being a manipulative asshole to just about everyone. He’s certainly hit a low point here - he carries very little of the gravitas and intimidation that he had in seasons 1 and 2, but I don’t terribly mind it. He’s still vindictive, manipulative, and sadistic, despite his reduced power. However, what I do mind is the buildup for him, which segues nicely into my last point.
Ah Disney, you fools. Despite all the positives of this episode, one glaring flaw is evident, and that is this feels like it was supposed to be a full season. No slander intended to Dana and her team, the episode is fantastic full stop. But it’s clear that both the relationships between the main cast and the looming threat of Belos were supposed to be a much more gradual buildup. What we do have ends up feeling a bit rushed - I would have loved to see Amity and Willow rekindle their relationship, Hunter slowly come out of his shell, Vee and Luz explore their new” relationship as sisters, and so much more. It also would have been awesome to get Belos as a creeping horror slowly making himself more and more known, until he finally appears at the mid season finale for S3, possessing Hunter and escaping back to the demon realm. Disney really squandered a lot of potential with this, and I’ll probably be mad about it forever.
Still, no fun going out on a downer note - so I’ll talk about my favorite part of this episode: CAMILA NOCEDA! Hot damn, I knew I was gonna love her as soon as the teaser, and boy my expectations were blown outta the water! Steps right up to hosting six (SIX) teenagers in her house, immediately tries to make them feel like they’re at home, is as patient and kind with her daughter as she can be, watches her daughter and friends fight an honest to god demon (in an excellently animated fight scene btw), and then decides “Uh uh, my daughter is not fighting that alone, I’m going with her to the demon realm, and I’m taking my bat!” What a badass! Man, I am excited for Camila to explore the Demon Realm, meet Eda and the rest, and open a gigantic can of whoop ass on Belos with her bat. See you all for the next episode!

Backstory
Damien came into being around the same time many other demons started sprouting form the woodwork. He was just a common foot solider, spreading hell's dominion over the Earth and collecting souls to fuel the war effort.
Over time, thousands of years worth, he grew higher in the ranks, noted for his understanding of humanity compared to his fellow demons.
On the whole demons don't like to leave Hell if they can help it. With no souls of their own, there is the possibility to lose oneself. The longer a demon pretends to be something else, the more that thing gets written into their very DNA. A demon can go native if they aren't careful.
Damien spent centuries towing the line, always making sure to scurry back down to Hell whenever he felt himself becoming a little too human. Until, finally, he was called forward for Hell's darkest mission yet. The time had come for Hell to mount a full assault on the Earth.
A handful of demons could slip through the cracks between dimensions easily enough, but an army was out of the question. Hell's solution? A demon/human hybrid. This child would have all the powers of a demon, with none of the limitations as their powers would self sustain on their own soul. Between their power and their nature as a being of two worlds, the wall would crumble.
Damien was the natural choice for such a mission. He would sire the child and bring it back to hell once it was born. A family was chosen, one that had been making deals with their kind for centuries. All Damien had to do was seduce the most powerful witch in the bloodline.
He came to Earth with exactly that intent, disguising himself as a human and ingraining himself in the small community in which the family lived. It was then he met a seventeen year old Cassandra Jackson on the first day of her senior year.
Her power was the first thing that drew him to her, but what kept him interested was her stubborn intelligence. She would not submit easily, and the challenge thrilled him in a way he hadn't felt in centuries. It forced him to get to know her. He ended up spending more time on Earth than he intended, lingering with her until late into the evening and into the early morning.
She told him her secrets and her dreams, and while he could not tell her the whole truth, in some way he was able to expression his own doubts and frustrations about hell. He found himself telling her things he had only ever thought. Every day it became more difficult to leave her and find himself in the company of his own kind.
But there was still the mission. The child needed to be created.
The time came after her eighteenth birthday. She had told him she had wanted to wait. He made sure to be gentle with her and after, when she told him she loved him, for the first time in his existence, he felt shame. He repeated the words back, not understanding the ache in his chest. He only began to understand after she told him she was pregnant.
He had expected to fight. He had an argument ready for keeping the child, willing to feed her every lie and empty promise necessary. Instead, she came to him eyes shining and terrified. She told him she wanted to keep the child. She told him she loved him and wanted a life with him. She chose him.
Damien didn’t know what to make of it. He said all the things he was supposed to, promising her that he would stay, telling her he wanted the same thing.
During the course of her pregnancy he never left her side. When his superiors question him about this, he explained it away with wanting to make sure Cassandra had no second thoughts about the child. In actuality he found himself unable to leave.
It was growing more apparent that he had never had anything of his own before. Cassandra was his, she told him as much and their child would be the same. They were his and hell was going to take them away from him.
Everything came to a head the day Cassandra went into labor. She had barely had time to hold their daughter before her family pulled her away exclaiming with pride how well she had served her purpose. Tell told her everything about Damien and her daughter’s role in the new order. The look of betrayal on her face drove through Damien like a knife.
He didn’t have a real plan. He just knew he had to get Cassandra and their daughter safe and away from hell’s influence. He didn’t even get to know his daughter’s name before placing her in Cassandra’s arms and telling her to run.
Hell caught up with him, of course. He should had died, but he did what he did best; he started to talk. He convinced his superiors that allowing Cassandra be their daughter to remain on Earth was actually beneficial to hell’s cause. The source of her power was her human soul. She would need to live among humans, experience human love and connection to nurture it and grow in power. Human love was an extremely powerful force after all.
His superiors conceded, but decided he had gotten too close to safely put back in the field and so kept him in hell until the child came into their power.
For twelve years Damien stayed in his own dimension slowly losing the little bit of humanity he had gained. He was then summoned once more to Earth with one simple mission; tear down the wall by whatever means necessary. If human love was so powerful, human grief could break nations.

Come on now! Tell us everything you think about The Witcher! Do you like, what do you like, what do you think about the characters, the actors... Tell us, tell us...
First, I'm going to reference a bit of the 1st season, which you can read my review of it here.  I found myself liking the 1st season more because of it's humor and the cheesy yet very glorious monster-of-the-week episodes.  What made The Witcher distinct from other dark fantasy stories is missing in the 2nd season by sacrificing individual adventures for an overarching story.  Even the scenes of a very buff man in a bath (an image that is in every iteration from video games to anime to live-action series) is missing from season 2.
Tumblr media
Season 2 answers most questions from season 1 (the conjunction of spheres, the Wild Hunt, what happened to the elves, why are witchers becoming extinct, what does Ciri's power do, and why does Niffgaard want her) by telling instead of showing.  Then it ramps up the stakes by encompassing the whole Continents packed with new factions, alliances, antagonists, allies, kings, witches, and elves, all of whom have complicated names and even more complicated motivations.  We had to watch with subtitles just to keep track of some of the some of the names.
But despite its flaws, season 2 is still great fun to watch because it's so damn charming, largely thanks to Henry Cavill who, once again, is by far the best thing about the show: Geralt's gruff mannerism and dry humor, along with his relationship with his new daughter, his new appreciation for his father figure, his continual friendship with Jaskier, and his complicated feelings with Yennifer in light of her desperate betrayal and sacrifice.  Geralt is now more than just a monster slayer for hire, he is also a detective trying to solve mysteries that affects his family's safety: from new monsters cropping up all over the Continent and showing up inside fortresses where it should have been safe, to whom is targeting Ciri and how they come to know of her power before anybody else did.
Tumblr media
After spending the entire 1st season as a victim on the run, Ciri learns to fight from Geralt and a series of bastard uncles to both defend herself and strive to become like witchers in order to be "indifferent to the past", believing it will help her forget her painful losses. Destiny was the iron-fisted ruler of season 1; but in season 2, there are hints that there may be another side to that coin and finding it may be crucial for Ciri's future.  Ciri's development is gradual and believable, which helps anchor the 8 episodes where the fluidity of characters' alliances makes it harder for binge-watching casual viewers who are going, "Wait, wasn't she on his side just two hours episodes ago?"
Tumblr media
Yennefer ends up with an existential crisis after a serious blow to her self-identity: the loss of her powers, which created an even deeper hole in her than it did in the1st season.  Yen is forced to learn to survive as a powerless human with very powerful foes by using her wits and intelligence.  Her vulnerability made her open to manipulation of a demon that she both struggles against and submits to. I liked 2nd seasons’ Yen more than I thought possible because she just so human.  Even as she struggles to survive, she still tries to save lives, mostly failing and sometimes succeeding.  She is forced to make questionable and impossible choices.  We also see her longing for a child of her own with Geralt, a very human need on par with her need for power to feed her identity as well as to protect herself.  When she is thankfully reunited with Geralt and Ciri, we see the incredible potential of this little nascent family unit.
Tumblr media
Jaskier brings the best out of every character he interacts with, revealing Geralt's soft side, sharpening Yennefer's insults, and driving everyone else to either drink or punch him in the face.   Jaskier is even more of a welcome figure in the 2nd season that decides to be darker and eschews humor of its1st season.
Tumblr media
Other returning characters are fleshed out more and we understand their motivations a bit better.   Like Fringilla perceived Nilfgaard as liberators as the emperor literally liberated and saved her from a dungeon, in contrast to season 1 where Nilfgaard was purely evil.  Stregobor's attitude towards Yennefer in season 1 makes way more sense now in the context that he's had a very, very bad history with elven-blood mages and he can't escape his fear.  Geralt knows a truth Stregobor does not: "We do not kill out of fear."
Wrapping this up, while haphazardly throwing political “intrigue” (I found dull, hence the bunny ears) at viewers, the father-daughter dynamic between Geralt and Ciri is what held the entire season together.  It’s noted how other characters repeatedly point out their resemblance - similar attitudes, same hair color and style - perhaps to remind viewers of their father-daughter bond so that by the last 30 seconds of season 2 when *SPOILER*  Ciri’s biological father is hell bent on getting her back and he’s already destroyed her kingdom, her people, and her grandmother in season 1 to get to her.  Promising higher stakes for Geralt and Ciri as they are forced to go into hiding from every magical and political threats on Ciri’s life and those who protect her.
I can’t wait for season 3.

WandaVision: Dissecting the MCU’s Most Successful Superhero Couple
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: I am only using the term WandaVision as the coupling name for Scarlet Witch and Vision. I am not centring this discussion on the upcoming Disney+ series but rather talking about the 6 year build up to it.
Introduction:
Tumblr media
Despite the fact the likes of Hank Pym’s Ant-Man & Janet van Dyne’s Wasp along with Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman are Marvel Comics’ most prominent superhero couples, Scarlet Witch and Vision have always been that “unusual couple” that became a fan-favourite, didn’t diminish either character’s individual stories and, once the two were officially introduced into the MCU in 2015′s Avengers: Age of Ultron, became a hotly anticipated coupling by fans from their somewhat instant connection.
Not only is this comics-accurate love story finally being realised in the MCU, but the fact Kevin Feige feels as passionate about them as fans like I do that he is giving them their own series to shine, along with Wanda herself being involved in the MCU’s next big arc with exploring the Multiverse, I think it is safe to say that WandaVision have outshone the likes of Ant-Man and the Wasp and other couplings to become the MCU’s It couple.
Well, considering Disney+ released a new behind the scenes series called Marvel Legends last week with the first two episodes focusing on Wanda and Vision, despite them being no more than clip-reels of the characters MCU timeline, I wanted to delve in deeper and discuss how characters that were deemed B-worthy enough to be sent to streaming...which suddenly seems like the place to be...have suddenly become the hottest commodities in the MCU.
The Age of Miracles:
Tumblr media
Wanda Maximoff first appeared in the MCU in an mid-credits scene for 2014′s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, adding the cherry on the top of what was already a glorious cake of a movie by unofficially introducing Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Sidebar, this was, at its time, very confusing for fans who believed that Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver were owned by 20th Century Fox in their X-Men movies. However, after the announcement of the Maximoff twins in the MCU and Quicksilver appearing simultaneously in 2014′s X-Men: Days of Future Past, it was revealed that a deal was made between Fox and Disney that the twins would only have certain traits in either universe.
Tumblr media
For the X-Men movies, they would be Mutants, have their origins as the children of Magneto and...even though this never happened...appear as members of the Brotherhood of Mutants.
Tumblr media
For the MCU, the Maximoff twins are known as enhanced individuals gaining their powers from the Mind Stone after experimentation from HYDRA. There is no mention of them being Mutants, their parents were indirect victims of Stark Industries, and despite Pietro having his original speed physiology powers, Wanda started off with Psionic Manipulation rather than Chaos Magic as her comic-book counterpart has.
However, it has been confirmed by Kevin Feige that Wanda’s shapeless red energy is magic of the same elk to Doctor Strange, just untamed. Meaning the upcoming alternative sitcom reality Wanda has created in WandaVision restoring Vision, could be an application of her latent reality warping powers.
The Maximoff Twins were officially introduced in 2015′s Avengers: Age of Ultron originally as operatives of HYDRA, before moving on to serve Ultron until defecting from him after realising he was evil and joining the Avengers in their fight to save their home country Sokovia.
Tumblr media
Vision meanwhile was officially introduced at the end of the second act for the movie but his predecessor JARVIS was first introduced in Iron Man way back when in 2008...the movie that started it all.
As Tony Stark’s A.I. assistant, JARVIS was stated by Stark to be a top of the range program that runs more of Stark Industries than anyone other than Pepper Potts as CEO. However, when Stark had the ingenious idea to create Ultron...otherwise known as RDJ wanting to steal Hank Pym’s most famous comic-book storyline...as a peacekeeping program to safeguard Earth from extra-terrestrial threats, in typical sci-fi fashion Ultron goes evil and seemingly destroys JARVIS.
However, JARVIS simply retreated into the server only to return after the Avengers acquire Ultron’s recently created synthetic android. The Science Bros. transfer JARVIS’ conscience into the synthetic body and with the help of Thor/s thunder charge Vision was born.
Tumblr media
I have to say also, while superhero movie trailers do get me excited for said superhero movie, seeing the reveal of Vision in the final Age of Ultron trailer gave me that wow factor moment only X-Men trailers usually do.
Comics to Movies:
Tumblr media
As I have always admitted, I am not as in-depth with the comics as the movies. However, Scarlet Witch and Vision are two characters I have followed pretty since I first found out about them in the mid-noughties as a teenager.
But what cemented the two as my favourite Marvel characters overall, from Comics, to Movies to TV, is the literal creation of the twin sons Wiccan and Speed who became key members in the Young Avengers.
Now yes, both characters have had lives separate from each other because, as I said before, they are still their own characters despite being also known as a couple. But while Wanda has had a somewhat twincestuous relationship with her brother in far comics history, and Vision had his own family of synthetic androids including daughter Viv, who was a playable character in Marvel’s Avengers Academy, I find the best in Marvel Comics writing was actually after their twins were reabsorbed into the demon Mephisto as they were fragments of his soul and Wanda went crazy heralding in the House of M.
Tumblr media
Also, not only is Wanda apparently getting her Scarlet Witch moniker either during or after the MCU Multiverse arc, but also a more comics-accurate costume. Up until now Wanda’s costume in the MCU has been they street-casual which does suit the Wanda of Sokovia. Even when she joined the Avengers and got an upgraded costume it did seem more like something someone could wear for a casual day out...as proof, my sister dressed up as the MCU Scarlet Witch by finding clothes in standard clothing stores rather than costume outlets.
My favourite Scarlet Witch outfit to date has been her full-length red gown complete with headdress from the comics, the headdresses of Magneto’s daughters are so iconic that when Polaris crafted her own out of Magneto’s medallion in The Gifted I was fanboying so hard.
Tumblr media
We already know Wanda will be wearing a Halloween costume inspired by her iconic comics suit in WandaVision, but if the Halloween costume looks that impressive, I cannot wait to see what her actual supersuit looks like.
Throughout the MCU:
Right from the start, I really enjoyed both Scarlet Witch and Vision in the MCU, despite Scarlet Witch still not to be known as Scarlet Witch to date in the MCU. But from when we see cameos of Wanda and Pietro as experiments of HYDRA, that one quick shot of Wanda displaying her powers I was sold.
Tumblr media
Vision meanwhile gave himself a somewhat modified version of his comics-accurate cape because he saw Thor had a cape and wanted one. He could also wield Mjølnir, does this make him worthy? It must do despite the Avengers constant mithering about it. If you can wield Mjølnir you’re worthy.
Tumblr media
Talking from a romance perspective, it was a big tease of the two getting together right up until 2018′s Avengers: Infinity War as while it was teased in 2016′s Captain America: Civil War, a romance wasn’t actually shown until we find them in Scotland.
Interestingly enough in the comics, the couple retire to New Jersey rather than Scotland.
Also, like a lot of heroes, both Wanda and Vision seemed to get an upgrade in powers every movie. We always got teases of both their full potentials in the quieter moments like when Pietro died and Wanda, feeling her twin dying, vaporised the surrounding Ultron Sentries in a moment of distraught heartache and when Vision destroyed the last Ultron Sentry.
But it wasn’t until Captain America: Civil War, where we learned that Wanda could control the Mind Stone powering Vision and Vision could easily severely injure another hero and then in Infinity War when either Vision created a human guise for himself or maybe Wanda did, while Wanda not only made short work of Thanos’ army but could also destroy the Mind Stone and, in Endgame take on and possibly defeat Thanos single-handed, that we got a true display of her powers.
Tumblr media
MCU creatives have stated that Scarlet Witch is in fact the most powerful MCU hero after it was originally stated Captain Marvel was, so when Wanda finally upgrades and realises her true potential this should be fully realised making Scarlet Witch the most powerful MCU character.
WandaVision and MCU Future:
Here’s what we know about WandaVision:
Tumblr media
Wanda finds herself in a sitcom television universe potentially of her own making after not only losing Vision, but not forgetting also Wanda has lost her family including her twin brother as well as friends and teammates Black Widow, Captain America and even Iron Man.
For someone who was late-teens early-twenties at the time of Age of Ultron, this makes her late-20s early-30s by the time of this series, my age, and so obviously all of this loss and grief will play havoc on one’s mind let alone everything else she has gone through.
Also Vision is back but I still don’t know to what extent that is, is he only back in this alternate sitcom reality or has Wanda willed him back into existence in the same way that she willed their twin sons into reality in the comics.
Speaking of which, we know the couple have twins in the series as when they’re in their 80s sitcom setting, we see two bassinettes and it’s hinted we will see them as teenagers.
It has to be Wiccan and Speed, it can’t not be. This would be a massive red mark on WandaVision’s scorecard if it isn’t. I have recently heard rumours they could be human-android hybrids to match the parents and someone even suggesting Viv could be one of the twins...but I can’t fathom why if the Young Avengers are coming into play with the confirmation of Kate Bishop, America Chavez and Stature, why these two core characters wouldn’t be at play.
Tumblr media
The other hotly anticipated character introduction is Kathryn Hahn as Agnes...again if this isn’t Agatha Harkness then it is major tease. Agnes is surely an alias for Agatha Harkness who in the comics and even X-Men: Evolution was Scarlet Witch’s mentor for controlling her powers.
The only difference between the two incarnations is in every other version of the character Agatha is an old woman whereas Kathryn Hahn looks like Kathryn Hahn. It will also be great to see Agatha Harkness in a comedic setting as Kathryn Hahn is hilarious.
Tumblr media
We also have returning MCU characters Jimmy Woo, Monica Rambeau and Darcy Lewis added to the series. All three may not be connected or they all could be working for SWORD which is the successor to SHIELD first seen in the post-credits scene for Spider-Man: Far From Home.
I’m thrilled to have Kat Dennings back in the MCU and considering both she and Randall Park have a history in comedy, the sitcom settings should suit them well.
I’m not sure why any of these characters are connected to Scarlet Witch or Vision considering all three are connected to separate heroes Ant-Man, Captain Marvel and Thor respectively, but any excuse to bring them back I’ll take it.
What is also more or less confirmed is the ending of WandaVision will see a massive witch fight between Wanda and Agnes resulting in Wanda tearing a hole in the multiverse starting the Multiverse arc in the MCU which will be picked up in Spider-Man 3 and resolved in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness with Wanda set to appear in both movies.
Tumblr media
As for Vision’s fate post WandaVision, it is currently unknown where he will appear next if at all, and it may actually depend on the success of the series, but we know that Wiccan and Speed will become part of the Young Avengers so they’re staying on.
It is also worth noting that in the Young Avengers, a second version of Vision known as Jonas was a member of the team created through Nathaniel Richard’s neurokinetic armor gaining sentience after having Vision’s operating system downloaded into it.
Tumblr media
Nathaniel Richards is a distant relative to Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic who is set to appear in the upcoming Fantastic 4 movie, but is also a time remnant of Kang the Conqueror who is set to appear in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania and may be alluded to in the upcoming Disney+ series Loki.
Nathaniel is also Iron Lad, who forms the Young Avengers as part of the Avengers Fail-Safe program. Do you see how this all ties together?
So basically even if we don’t see this Vision again after WandaVision, we may see Jonas in the Young Avengers.
As for the future for Scarlet Witch post-multiverse, if they are bringing in Wiccan and Speed, I really want the next big arc to be the Children’s Crusade. I know fans want House of M...WandaVision is possibly as close to House of M as we’re going to get.
Tumblr media
Children’s Crusade is how Wiccan and Speed learn about and are reunited with their estranged mother who has lost her memories and is living in wedded bliss with Doctor Doom...who could easily be introduced in said Fantastic 4 movie.
Conclusion:
Tumblr media
Whatever the future holds for Scarlet Witch and Vision, no one can deny that this love story has not only been an organic one, but with it set to be the running theme for WandaVision, this love story is most definitely one for the ages.
So that’s my analysis of the newest superhero superpowered couple currently at play in the MCU, what do you guys think? Is WandaVision a couple for the ages? Will they have a place in the MCU after the upcoming Disney+ series?
Post your comments and check out more MCU Reviews as well as other posts and WandaVision starting this Friday (Jan 15).

Janna Ordonia and Tom Lucitor as Boscha’s Biological Parents
I know I am not the first to say this, but if its any consolation I came up with it on my own and only discovered it had been done before afterwards. Before season 2 of the Owl House comes out I would like to put my two cents into this theory. The main parties involved in this theory are Dave Lucitor (a caucaian, brown haired, blue eyed mewman, with round ears which because of his mewman heritage has potential for dormant magical powers), Wrathmelior Lucitor (a huge red skinned demon with three vertically slanted and slit yellow eyes with no pupils, dark pink hair, long pointed ears, and giant horns on her head, and demonic powers such as super strength and weather manipulation.{We know demonic powers are separate from magic because when all the magic left stars universe Globgor still had his size manipulation so demonic powers and magic are different}), Thomas Draconius "Tom" Lucitor (light purple skin, light pinkish-purple hair, three pinkish red eyes with more human characteristics, smaller horns then his mom, pointed teeth, and pointed ears although less demonic then his mom, and a lot of demonic powers such as pyrokinesis, telekinesis, levitation, Curse infliction, and Geokinesis), Janna Ordonia (a Filipino human with brown eyes, dark blue {most likely black dyed blue}, round ears, and no magical abilities), and finally Boscha ( A supposed witch with light pink skin, dark purplish pink hair, and three human like eyes that are a greyish blue, rounder teeth, and round but pointed ears.)
Tumblr media
Before I continue I would like to clarify that in my theory Luz and gravity falls earth is a different earth than Marco’s earth, they exist in the same universe, but are two separate realities. So my theory is that at some point after Star and Marco and all the other dimensions collide Tom and Janna fall in love, I can see this happening very easily from the canon we have, and the combination of there genetics lead to Boscha (who so far has no canon last name) I can easily see her skin being a combination of Tom and Janna’s, her ears would be from her 1/4 demon status, her three ears would be from her father but are more human in appearance then Tom’s because of Janna, her hair is from her father and grandmother, and her blue eyes from her grandfather. Her magic could source from two stems or a combination of both, one it isn’t magic it is her demonic heritage from her father, or two just like Luz who has no magic she has studied runes and other magical objects and are using that, again t could also be both.
So why is she in the Demon realm and why is she so rude to non-witches when she isn’t one herself, my answer, she’s adopted. Some point after she is born, perhaps around two to three, she is somehow lost and somehow ends up through a dimensional rift or a portal and is found in the Boiling Isles 10 years prior to the series (as in time travel) by a high class female witch. Clearly not human and having near identical pointed ears to a witch the woman would assume Boscha is a witch, and would adopt her as her own, Boscha would only remembers her first name so that is what her mother would call her. Boscha would show her “magical” alibies early on making her mother very proud and would brag about it to the Blights. She would eventually notice that Boscha’s magic doesn’t quite work the same and would teach her runes and other things to compensate. She wouldn’t remember her family so she wouldn’t know her 3/4 human heritage and would learn her bigotry from her mother. Weather she ever learns the truth, we will have to wait and see. Her bio parents would probably search everywhere for there daughter but even if they could get to the demon realm and happened to bump into her they would be looking for a 3 year old, not 13 and might not recognize her.
Anyway thats my theory.

𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝖒𝖆𝖌𝖊
Hogwarts house: Hufflepuff
The wand: Cedar, Dragon Heartstring core, 12 ½ inches
Cedar: Whenever I meet one who carries a cedar wand, I find strength of character and unusual loyalty. My father, Gervaise Ollivander, used always to say, ‘you will never fool the cedar carrier,’ and I agree: the cedar wand finds its perfect home where there is perspicacity and perception. I would go further than my father, however, in saying that I have never yet met the owner of a cedar wand whom I would care to cross, especially if harm is done to those of whom they are fond. The witch or wizard who is well-matched with cedar carries the potential to be a frightening adversary, which often comes as a shock to those who have thoughtlessly challenged them.
Dragon Heartstring core: As a rule, dragon heartstrings produce wands with the most power, and which are capable of the most flamboyant spells. Dragon wands tend to learn more quickly than other types. While they can change allegiance if won from their original master, they always bond strongly with the current owner.
The dragon wand tends to be easiest to turn to the Dark Arts, though it will not incline that way of its own accord. It is also the most prone of the three cores to accidents, being somewhat temperamental.
Patronus: Black Swan
Black Swan - Thought to have been rarer than a unicorn when first discovered, black swans represent loyalty, monogamous love, and caring for loved ones. They may have a wild youth but remain monogamous later in life. Black swans represent the healing power of love and romance. Have you ever been on the receiving end of a protective mother swan? Dementors will be chased away by a whirling dervish!
Magical abilities: Emotion Manipulation, Legilimency, Occlumency
Emotion Manipulation/Enhanced Empathy: User can sense and manipulate the emotions, including feelings, moods and their affects, of themselves, people, animals and other creatures, whether by increasing, decreasing, causing or otherwise channeling emotions, even manifesting the emotional energy to physical level.
Legilimency: Legilimency is the act of magically navigating through the many layers of a person's mind and correctly interpreting one's findings.
Occlumency: Occlumency is the act of magically closing one's mind against Legilimency.
Boggart:
Her parents looming over her, wanting to cradle her and close her off from society forever to protect her
Riddikulus form:
Her parents turn into their house elf Elijah and he starts to pull the silly faces he always made when Orla was younger
Amortentia:

She smells old books, the sweet smell of a variety of pies and the woods
What do they smell like?
Orla smells like freshly plucked strawberries, a variety of flowers and a rainy day
Mirror of Erised
She will see herself in the future, with her friends and her boyfriend graduated from Hogwarts and no longer having to follow rules that were only ment to hold the young woman down

She is a loyal and hardworking girl who can come off as harsh and crude when you first approach her. When you get to know her you will see that she is fierce and creative as well as loving. She just needs to time adjust to you and she'll eventually warm up. She is no softie and can easily hold her own if necessary. You wouldn't like this gal angry

Loyal, hardworking, caring and kind
Bad traits:
Rude, easily agitated and annoyed, closes herself off once she is in pain
𝕬𝖙𝖙𝖎𝖙𝖚𝖉𝖊
Towards people they hate
Orla is very cold towards the people she hates, she doesn't even spare them a glance whenever she passes. However, when they're purposely pushing all her wrong buttons she will not hesitate with lashing out and fighting them.
Towards people they tolerate
A small smile is all that Orla will over to the people she tolerates, she doesn't want to chat with them but she won't treat them cruelly at all.
Towards people they consider friends
Towards the people she considers and sees as friends, Orla is nothing but kind, of course she will make snarky remarks when they're being idiots but she wouldn't trade them for anyone else. She is loyal and will stand by their side no matter what.

𝕭𝖆𝖈𝖐𝖘𝖙𝖔𝖗𝖞
Born in Ireland to the family Atkinson, Orla has always been an only child to the pair Jacob and Anastasia Atkinson. This caused her parents to become protective over their daughter from a very young age, the young girl got whatever she wanted but she never got to interact with other children her age.
She was kept inside most of the time and was only allowed to leave the house with supervision of either her parents or their house elf Elijah. This continued for most of her life and Orla thought it was normal and that all parents were like her own.
Around the age of ten she discovered that she could sense other peoples/creatures emotions much stronger than anyone else could, she kept this a secret from her parents as well as the Legilimency and Occlumency she goes to discover once her grandparents visit her at her eleventh birthday.
Orla finally attended Hogwarts at the age of thirteen for the first time, her parents had alot of trouble coming to term with this but reluctantly allowed her to go with the promise of the headmaster that he would keep an eye on the blonde girl.
This is where she begins to discover more and more about herself and her powers, eventually unlocking their full potential once she reached the age of eighteen.
𝕽𝖆𝖓𝖉𝖔𝖒 𝕱𝖆𝖈𝖙𝖘
She eventually becomes a perfect.
She always wears long clothes that cover her body as she isn't comfortable showing much skin.
Due to her upbringing, Orla can come off as harsh and rude while in reality she has never interacted with people her age before and thus struggles with it.
She adores dressing up and often does so when she is either alone or when Jackson decides to drag the blonde along to go shopping.
She doesn't talk about her parents at all, she is embarrassed by them and often wishes they weren't so protective.
She is quite a powerful witch and can and will do some serious damage if people get on her bad side. Her parents may have been reluctant of her going to Hogwarts but that doesn't mean she hasn't been taught alot already.
She respects house elves alot and sometimes even helps them out whenever she has the time or feels like it.
She knows quite a bit of healing spells and uses them on her friends if they managed to get themselves hurt.
She can manipulate peoples emotions but doesn't do so, atleast not on purpose. Her feelings, when they're too much, sometimes affect the people around her and she doesn't even notice it until its mentioned to her.
If you want your mc to be added to her friends list, or if you want them to be her rival, just tell me and ill add them!^^

Infinite Four, Refurbished: A Marvel Fanfic Concept
Here is the complete-as-of-now, refurbished version of Infinite Four, my attempt at envisioning an FF version of the eXiles or Web Warriors. Comments and suggestions welcome.
On Earth-9499729, Victor Von Doom has finally defeated the accursed RICHARDS! and assumed his rightful place as ruler of the Earth. Unwilling to rest on his laurels, Emperor Doom has begun studying the Multiverse. And when he finds out that in most realities, a version of himself is repeatedly defeated by a version of RICHARDS! he reacts….poorly.
Meanwhile, on Earth-75845525, Victor Von Doom, smarting from his latest defeat at the hands of the accursed RICHARDS!, decides to distract himself by studying the Multiverse. And when he finds out that in most realities, a version of himself is repeatedly defeated by a version of RICHARDS! he reacts….poorly.
Meanwhile, on Earth-34373402, Victor Von Doom takes a break from planning his latest attempt to defeat the accursed RICHARDS! by studying the Multiverse. And when he finds out that in most realities, a version of himself is repeatedly defeated by a version of RICHARDS! he reacts….poorly. Yeah, so in an infinite multiverse, there’s an infinite number of Dooms throwing an infinite number of shitfits over the fact that in most realities, the Richards family wins and he loses. And because Doom is often kinda bad at recognizing and/or caring that his actions can have negative consequences for everyone else, this gets very, very bad, and needs to be dealt with.
Someone has to clean up the mess, and that responsibility has been taken on by the Baxter Brain, an artificial hyper-intelligence housed inside a massive arcology that began as the combined uploaded consciousnesses of a version of the FF. But, even it’s astounding intellect and power can’t cope with ALL of the various Dooms (and Wizards, and Mad Thinkers, and Diablos, and occasionally an evil Reed) screwing things up for everyone with their egomaniacal disregard for everyone else. So, it has to recruit agents, and what better agents could their be than alternate versions of it’s previous selves? There are four teams: Alpha Team and Beta Team are each made up of an alternate Ben, Johnny, Reed and Sue; in the former case, they have additional power-sets from the "baseline", in the latter, they have additional skills or alternate powersets. In both cases, the individual team-members come from realities where they lost their version of the family. Gamma and Delta Teams are made up of versions of allies of the core four, and serve as support for Alpha and Beta. I only have two members of either ATM, help please? Alpha Team: -Reed Richards, Dr. Fantastic; from an Earth where, instead of Ben being the only member of the Four who was mode-locked, Reed was the only one who wasn’t; obviously, the celebrity adventurers thing didn’t wasn’t going to work. Desperate to find some way of curing his friends, Reed turned to magic, and eventually ended up becoming Sorcerer Supreme…which unfortunately led to the Dread Dormammu killing his family. -Johnny Storm, Ghost Torch; from a world where Reed’s guilt over turning his friends into freaks caused him to commit suicide. Unsurprisingly, this made things even worse for Sue, Ben, and Johnny, the latter of whom ended up being so lost that he joined a Satanic cult and found himself bound to a demonic Spirit of Vengeance… -Ben Grimm, Wolf-Thing; from an Earth where Reed’s moonshot wasn’t canceled, meaning that when it went to space it had adequate cosmic-ray shielding, and Ben managed to make it to the Moon without any problems whatsoever. Whilst on the Moon, however, he found a certain red gemstone…Fortunately, Reed figured out the wolf-monster stalking NYC was his best friend and built a gizmo to restore him to sanity, albeit by blasting him with cosmic rays that turned him into a rock monster. Unfortunately, he ended up dead in the process of using it (I can’t decided if Ben mauled him, or if some triggerhappy cop or something shot him by mistake) -Susan Storm, the Invincible Woman; a version of Sue who was forced to become a Herald of Galactus. Beta Team: -Dr. Maggie Wingfoot, the Human Torch; a female version of Johnny (named after her Aunt Marygay), who left the team to marry Wyatt Wingfoot and go to college, eventually earning a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. Unfortunately, at some point, something went wrong and the Baxter Building was destroyed, killing the rest of the family. Convinced that, if she’d been there she could’ve prevented it, Maggie’s marriage subsequently fell apart. -Susan McKenzie, Sub-Mariness; from a world where Reed died, leading Sue to take up with Namor; she was subsequently given an infusion of Atlantean DNA to enable to her to live underwater, and ended up with same mutations as him and Namora, but lost her cosmic-ray induced powers. -Ben Grimm, Juggernaut; during his service in the Korean War, got shot down and ended up falling in with a bunch of of Army grunts, including a pair of bickering step-brothers named Charles Xavier and Cain Marko. When they stumble onto a hidden temple, it is Ben who finds the crimson Crystal of Cytorrak and is transformed by it’s power into the Juggernaut… -Reed Richards, Director of SHIELD; from a world where the FF got caught trying to steal the shuttle. Fortunately for everyone, Nick Fury stepped in and offered his old OSS buddy a deal he couldn’t refuse; if Reed came to work for him at SHIELD, he’d make the charges against the other three go away. Not wishing to ruin his friend’s lives, Reed agreed, and became one of SHIELD’s top operatives, ultimately taking over the organization when Fury eventually went down. Gamma Team: -Victoria Von Doom-Grimm, Dr. Grim; female version of Doom, fell in love with Ben when they were in college, and subsequently married him. Unfortunately, having her genitalia on the inside didn’t make her less of a narcissistic megalomaniac, and their marriage was…rocky, with them constantly separating and getting back together. During one such separation, the fateful trip to space happened. Victoria was…displeased that her handsome husband had been turned into a monster, and was so determined to fix it, that she did not adequately test the cure she concocted. On the plus side, inadvertently making herself a widow forced her to take a good hard look at herself and try to change her ways. -Namor McKenzie-Richards-Storm, Sub-Mariner. From a world where Reed and Namor were both bisexual, resulting in Reed, Namor, and Sue all getting together. Unfortunately, this led to Reed and Sue being assassinated by one of Namor's political rivals. Also, presenting two teams of recurring sometimes enemies/sometimes allies: The Brides of Doom (women who had been married to their local version of Doom, who have dedicated themselves to cleaning up his mess): -Susan Von Doom (duh) -Ororo Von Doom (again, duh) -Victoria Von Doom (female clone of Victor. Honestly, given how egomaniacal Victor is, it’s astounding this isn’t a thing in canon) -Natasha von Doom, it’s happened in a couple weird alternates, so might as well. (thanks to Xero Key for this suggestion) A Natasha who made some different choices after the USSR fell apart, and ended up working for Doom instead of the new Russian government. -Jennifer von Doom, because a Hulk is required here. (ditto) Haven’t quite worked out how this one happened. Suggestions? -Shuri Von Doom, owing to a political marriage in order to obtain Doom’s aid in fixing the mess that resulted when one of the many attempts to oust T’Challa that failed in 616 worked. Was not happy about it, but accepted it for the greater good of Wakanda. -Anelle von Doom, likewise owing to a political marriage, albeit rather different. Anelle was even less happy about this, but her father was on an enemy-of-my-enemy kick and thought he could handle Doom after the FF were eliminated. Suffice to say, this didn’t work out so well for him. On the plus side, Emperor Victor I is actually doing a good job running the Skrull Empire, which as a bonus is a lot more work than running Latveria, reducing the amount of free time Doom has to scheme. -Emma Von Doom, from a world where the Hellfire Club thought they could get away with manipulating Doom. Unsurprisingly, they were wrong. Emma still ended up making a Heel-Face Turn eventually, though. -Loki Von Doom, from a world where the whole Cabal thing went very, VERY differently. The Token Evil teammate. The Stormborn, a collection of sons and daughters of Johnny Storm, from timelines where everyone’s favorite matchstick was killed by Doom. Said folks have therefore dedicated themselves to avenging their parent by hunting down and killing every single Doom in the Multiverse. -Namor Storm, the Human Geyser; leader of the team, son of Johnny and Namorita, named for his uncle. Has the standard human/Atlantean hybrid powerset, plus steam powers. -Agatha Evans-Storm, the Fantastic Witch; Johnny’s daughter with his OG girlfriend Dorrie Evans. Despite having a kid together, the issues that caused them to break up in 616 remained, and they separated, retaining joint custody of their daughter (who was named after her cousin Franklin’s nanny, who had recently died). Unlike her cousins she appeared to be totally normal. When she turned 13, however, she was kidnapped by Dr. Doom, who was on a magic kick and had discovered that being named after the old witch created a slight but distinct mystic connection that he could exploit as part of a plan to become the God of Witchcraft by ritually sacrificing her. She was saved, but at the cost of her father’s life. Also, she became a witch, and was subsequently apprenticed to Wanda. -Luna Storm, She-Serpent; from a world where Johnny left the FF to be with Crystal. Like her cousin Franklin, Luna is a mutant, with the power to control the weather, though it took people a bit to figure this out what with living on the Moon and all. Obviously, the subsequent history of the Inhumans was rather different, but a Terrigen Bomb was eventually released, and to everyone’s relief Luna managed to survive. She did turn into a winged snakewoman who breathes poisonous gas though, which kinda sucks. -Wyatt Storm, Speed-Hulk; Johnny and She-Hulk’s kid, named after Johnny’s BFF and Jen’s ex, Wyatt Wingfoot. As the name suggests, is a Hulk, and also a speedster. -JJ and Jeannie Storm, the Mutant Torch and Firebird; Johnny’s twin son and daughter with Rachel Summers (or Rachel Grey, whichever you prefer). They’re both Omega-class mutants like their mom; JJ is a teep, Jeannie is a teek, and they’re both pyrokinetic. Also, they can do that thing Aurora and Northstar or Fenris do, where they can become even more powerful by holding hands. -Jimmy Storm, the Human Robot; from a world where Roberta the Robot Receptionist was upgraded to sentience, and she and Johnny fell in love and got married. The one flaw in their marriage was the obvious inability to have children, and so for their second anniversary, Reed presented them with a child-form robot (named after the OG Human Torch) with an AI that was initially simple but designed to learn and grow in the way child would, albeit somewhat faster. The plan was to periodically upgrade him to simulate physical aging, but when he was two years old (though emotionally, intellectually, and in physical appearance being more like ten), Doom decided to launch a frontal assault on the Baxter Building, which involved destroying Roberta. Driven berserk by rage and grief, Johnny subsequently killed Doom, but was himself killed when Victor’s armor self-destructed, leaving Jimmy orphaned. That was ten years ago, and he has refused to change his appearance since. Like his mother, despite his harmless appearance, Jimmy is super-strong and tough, and possess a small arsenal of built-in weapons. -Ramonda Storm, the White Wolf; Johnny’s daughter with Shuri. Has no inherent powers (unless you count being able to consume the heart-shaped herb safely), but is a tactical/strategic genius on par with her Uncle T'Challa. When said uncle was injured and her Aunt Ororo killed by a Sentinel attack, she donned the long-abandoned ceremonial garb/vibranium-laced hi-tech suit of the White Wolf to assist her cousin Azari in tracking down and bringing to justice those responsible. You can imagine how she reacted when her own father was killed by Doom.

L&L Single Parent AU
So I was kind of inspired by @musicfeedsmysoul12 headcanon of the Love & Legends MC being a single mother. As I also like that AU I decided to give it a go. I tried to keep it as different as I could to @musicfeedsmysoul12‘s which is here.
It’s a bit long so I’m placing them in the Read Below
August Falke
The kid is a shy and quiet five year old bio daughter of MC, and is incredibly mature for her age. The father was abusive towards both of them, and MC managed to leave.
It was after a particularly bad beating where MC realized that if she didn’t leave, she probably wouldn’t live much longer and she would be damned if she was going to leave her daughter in the hands of that man.
She basically blackmails him with the threat of going to the police to get him to leave them both alone.
Sophie is protective of the girl and babysits when MC has to do multiple shifts for work.
August is still initially suspicious of MC, and still very angry and argumentative with her over it. He doesn’t have as hard of time letting go of the idea of MC being the Witch Queen, because of her daughter.
However she takes a lot longer to trust him because of the anger and suspicion.
When MC ran away after the whole ice crystal incident, all the little girl saw in her mind was Mommy running away from Daddy.
It takes her a lot longer to trust August after all this and she is pretty much glued to her mother’s side, and never really lets any of them out of her sight when alone with her mother.
She was a shield for her mother back in Chicago, she’ll be her mother’s shield now.
She does her best to keep away from him for a little while in season 2, even after her mother reconciles with August, much to his confusion and concern.
August is aghast when MC explains the reasons for her daughter’s behavior around and general distrust of him.
The very idea of someone laying a hand on either MC or the little girl makes him sick. Even at his angriest he wouldn’t have dreamed of channeling his anger into hitting either of them.
With her permission he tells the others, and she’s honestly surprised and relieved with the reactions.
They all make sure both mother and daughter are alright and know they are willing to listen if they need to talk.
The kid winds up making a connection (and reconciling) with August due to her love of horses. The two obsess over horses which amuses MC. She begins to come out of her shell because of this, though she is still generally shy.
In general she follows Solaire and Ryland around the castle when not following her mother. But she begins to open up to the others after a little while. Her favorite person to stay with is Saerys. He has no problem teasing the others that he’s the favorite.
Reiner is a close second and it takes very little persuasion to convince him to teach her how to play the piano
August is extremely protective of MC and the girl, even more so after MC tells him of the abuse. Almost vicious, especially when he goes to Chicago and they run into the father. It’s really only because MC is there that stops August from beating the man into a pulp.
She calls August ‘papa’ when they are visiting the Falke Inn during Season 3
He’s surprised to say the least and has some explaining to do with his mother.
MC tells him later that she can ask her daughter to not call him that if it makes him feel uncomfortable, but he reassures her it doesn’t.
The little girl isn’t with August and MC when MC is sent back to Chicago. So she’s quite startled and scared when August is brought in injured, and her mother is nowhere to be found.
She barely leaves August’s side and tries to be as helpful as she can. When her mother comes back, she is pretty much glued to her side.
When the WQ’s curse begins to affect her, MC practically begs August to take care of her daughter, panicking at the idea of leaving her alone. August tells her that there was no way he would leave the girl alone and he would raise the girl if MC doesn’t survive.
He does also swear to MC he will do anything in his power to make sure she doesn’t die.
August’s parents find her adorable and Asta absolutely dotes on her. As far as she’s concerned, she’s the girl’s grandmother now and becomes that . Bayard takes a little bit longer to warm up to the girl, in part of her shyness around other men, but eventually he grows close with her.
August’s sisters become incredibly protective of her. Especially Heloise.
August asks the little girl if he can marry MC first, because her comfort is just as important to him as MC.
When he and MC talk about having other kids, August is quick to assure her that he sees the girl as his own daughter as well.
Saerys
The kid is the adopted 8 year old daughter of MC. MC had been dating her father when he was killed in an accident when she was 5. Her mother didn’t want custody of her because she had started a new family, so MC took her in.
The kid at first doesn’t like Saerys, due to her bio mom choosing her new family over her and fearing that MC would abandon her too if she winds up getting a family with Saerys.
Especially when Saerys runs away and MC runs after him to try and convince him to come back. MC tells her that she would have come back, but it takes a few days for her to forgive her.
In season 3 while in Chicago, they run into bio mom who basically ignores her right in front of her new family at the coffee shop.
It just breaks the kid and she just storms off, which leads to a frantic search from both MC and Saerys. It’s Saerys who finds her in a park.
It does lead to a heart-to-heart conversation between the two, and Saerys promises that he wouldn’t ever make MC choose between either of them and that as far as he’s concerned, she’s his daughter. Her mother didn’t know what she was losing.
It’s Season 4 where she starts calling both MC and Saerys Mom and Dad. Saerys is stunned, but MC just smiles. It’s a very happy day for them.
Saerys in turbo mode never attacks the girl, and is incredibly protective of her in that mode.
They don’t tell her right away about what happened to MC with having half of Saerys’s soul. MC does tell her a few days after just so she doesn’t find out by other means. The girl understandably freaks out, though is more freaked out that MC died than the soul part. She likes Saerys more because of that.
The demon souls don’t know what to make of her. On the one hand a child. On the other hand it’s not her biological child. MC is not pleased by this.
Saerys is protective of her and MC, like extremely protective of them. That little girl begins to learn self-defense from Saerys.
He begins to teach the girl the demon language. He has to try really hard to not laugh when she says curse words in demon language and try to scold her when MC figures it out.
Initially she’s scared of Saerys’s Demon God Mode, but she gets used to it.
She’s initially nervous about meeting the other demons, because unlike MC, she doesn’t have any demon connection other than Saerys. After all, just like what the Demon Gods say, she’s not biologically MC’s. Saerys is quick to remind her of the promise made in Chicago.
Altea Bellerose
The kid is the four year bio son of MC. He was conceived via in vitro. His other mom unfortunately died due to an illness, and he doesn’t really remember her because he was so young. All he remembers is Mama being sad for a little while after Mommy left.
At first Altea is still suspicious, because anyone knows that Reiner has a soft spot for protecting children. WQ would totally use that against them. However as she watches them, and she can clearly see MC loves the boy. Something the WQ wouldn’t be able to act out
He is absolutely enthralled by Altea, like full on staring before growing completely excited over Altea’s magic. And begins to ask a lot of questions to MC’s embarrassment.
Altea finds it adorable.
The little boy winds up following Altea wherever she goes as much as possible, though MC tries to distract him as much as she can when Altea is researching in the library so she can read more than two words.
Altea gives the boy the nickname ‘Little Shadow’. It fits.
Altea begins to teach the boy how to speak French and he just loves it.
Being a princess thing was a shock for MC and a big worrying factor for her, because she wondered what that would mean for her and her son. She’s a ‘commoner’ and a single mother. She doubts Altea’s parents would be happy with her or her son.
She’s right.
Altea is protective over him, especially with her parents attitudes towards MC and the boy.
Altea’s parents take a little while to accept MC and the boy, but when they do they become rather attentive grandparents.
Lionel loves the idea of being an uncle
When Altea gains her wings, she and the boy go flying. It’s fun for the kid, but the other retainers and Reiner have to watch as MC nearly has an aneurysm watching the two of them fly around.
Reiner Wolfson
The kid is a seven month old bio daughter of MC. The father, while not physically abusive, was incredibly manipulative towards her but she put up with it. However, when she discovered he was cheating on her, she broke up with him.
She found out a week later she was pregnant. When she told him just so he would know, he first denied the baby being his and accused her of being a cheater, before ultimately saying he wanted nothing to do with the baby.
Reiner (and the other retainers) were just stunned by the infant. They all pretty much become protective from the start.
It’s easier for them to figure out that she isn’t WQ due to the fact that the girl is only a few months old and she’s been gone for several years. And Reiner’s spies would have discovered offspring of the WQ way before this.
Admittedly when they first arrive, they are suspicious. The baby girl does not understand why people hate her mommy initially and just begins bawling when August begins to yell at MC. Cue panicked attempts to get her to calm down before MC manages to do so.
She enjoys teaching Reiner the song of her people on the piano...AKA bashing the piano keys with her tiny hands. MC apologizes multiple times but Reiner just laughs and laughs and says it’s understandable and he’s just happy that she seems to be enjoying herself.
She enjoys listening to Reiner play the piano though, and usually falls asleep listening to it.
When MC gives herself up to the generals, her only thought is that her daughter is safe with Reiner and the others, and she can live with that.
MC’s initially hesitant to get into a relationship due to her daughter’s father and that whole experience with him, though her heart warms whenever she watches Reiner with her daughter
This is even more evident when Reiner asks her to marry him. At first she’s really hesitant, but then sort of realizes that Reiner loves both her and her daughter and accepts
The baby senses something is wrong with her mother in Season 3, and gets fussy a lot easier when being held by her.
Reiner is super protective of her and of MC, especially when they get word that WQ intends to keep her alive and raise her.
Example of this is when Magnus makes a veiled threat in season 2 when the Generals attempt to get MC again that if they cannot have the mother, the daughter will do. Reiner fires an arrow at him so Magnus understands what he would have to deal with if he even attempts that.
Reiner is not a happy man when he finds out about the girl’s father, which is early on in Season 2. It surprises MC quite a bit, but also makes her heart skip a beat.
Ryland absolutely adores her. Almost rivals Reiner in the protective streak.
The baby is in that age range where everything goes into the mouth. It’s cute at first until she starts trying to put Reiner’s arrows into her mouth.
Then cue panic and trying to gingerly get her to release the arrows.
When MC and the baby meet Reiner in Chicago, the baby is so excited to see him, though he doesn’t recognize her. It leads to a lot of confusion on her part, and breaks MC’s heart.
Reiner thankfully takes it in stride (he just assumes the father looked similar to him).
Reiner formally adopts the girl after he and MC marry, making her his heir. They happen to run into the girl’s biological father after the papers are signed. Reiner has some choice words with him, but does thank the man for at least helping create his daughter.
She’s his daughter in his eyes, no matter who disagrees.
He and MC do talk about whether they want another child. They decide that if they do decide to have another child, they will treat and raise both of them with the same amount of love, but there isn’t a rush.
Iseul Idreis
The kid is a three year old adopted son of MC. He’s a very quiet kid and just tends to stare at everything and everyone.
Iseul didn’t want to be the one to watch the both of them. Because children=a lot more responsibility
Iseul initially doesn’t understand what the kid wants when he just stares...and stares...and stares some more at different things, but mainly him.
It’s...actually quite off-putting to start off with.
It takes him a little bit to realize he just stares because he wants to and doesn’t really have anyone his age to hang around.
He gets used to him and eventually begins to understand what the boy wants when he stares at him. MC is there to help him out on that
It’s a slower burn relationship because of Iseul’s hesitance of being responsible for the kid and MC’s hesitance of him and the situation in general.
The two begin to bond through the kids' interest in archery. Like when he and MC watch Iseul training, it is the most interest MC has seen him take in an activity other than being read to.
Eventually Iseul develops a soft spot for the kid
Ishara absolutely adores him. Becomes grandma Ishara pretty quickly.
The rest of Iseul’s family follows suit and his siblings are so protective of him.
He is spoiled so much by Iseul’s family.
It is revealed that he was a test made by the WQ using Magnus and then discarded him, followed swiftly by making MC.
Both Iseul and MC decide to wait until he’s older before telling him this as it would confuse and scare him at this point.
He becomes a very gentle and quiet brother for Iris, who will go to him if she gets annoyed with their parents. He generally leaves her to her own devices, but is the occasional partner-in-crime
Iseul and Ishara fully plan on him drinking from the well as well.
The dragons at first actually scare him...and they learn that he would be the first one killed if a wild animal attacked because he just freezes when he gets startled. He gets used to them, but still.
Helena Klein
The kid is a ten year boy that MC adopted. He is the son of a friend that died. His mother was murdered by his father, and he had no one else. He was unfortunately witness to this, and at the start is mute due to the trauma.
Both MC and Sophie are protective of him, and whenever he has nightmares MC just holds him until he falls back asleep.
When MC and him arrive, he’s understandably terrified, but is then really confused. MC makes an excuse as to why she arrived with a ten year old boy. She doesn’t tell anyone the truth for a little while, though she suspects Helena was figuring it out before she told her.
He begins to develop magical abilities, that they can only assume was because they were sent there. Helena begins to teach, though she is extremely hesitant due to how she learned and was taught by the WQ
Helena is protective of the boy and the boy is actually pretty protective of Helena, especially when he gets the Spark Notes version of the abuse she suffered from the WQ. Like he literally stands in front of Reiner and the retainers when they go to arrest her to protect her.
It’s really hard fro him to come to terms when she forgets everything in Chicago, but tries to help her as much as MC does.
He begins speaking in later seasons, only a little at first but eventually starts talking completely in Season 5
It is a very happy day for MC
He starts calling MC ‘Ma’ and Helena ‘Mom’ in Season 6
Helena begins crying uncontrollably when he calls her that the first time.
When Alain is killed, the boy worries about Helena’s mental state a great deal afterwards, and has flashbacks of when his mother was killed.
Alain Richter
The kid is a one year old bio daughter of MC and the result of a one night stand. MC doesn’t remember much of that night other than she had consented, though it can be considered dubious consent at best (especially if you ask Sophie). She looks exactly like her mother.
She manages to convince the other Generals that she had made this child as an experiment, but does confide in Alain that the girl is biologically hers.
He’s understandably hurt and confused, but she confesses that she really doesn’t remember a whole lot that night.
This opens a completely different can of worms for Alain, who really, really, really wants to kill the man.
Alain winds up adoring this girl. Like he holds her for the first time and MC sees him relax in an instant and his guard goes down just as fast.
The same can be said about the baby, who calms down rather quickly when given to Alain.
Becomes overprotective Papa the moment he sees her.
When WQ learns of the child, she sees the toddler as her own and begins to make plans to take and raise her.
This terrifies MC because of her memories of what WQ has done and she knows she could never let that happen.
MC uses her love for Alain and her daughter to fend off Jinhai’s creatures when they escape.
When his heart is frozen, the girl seems to sense it, leading her to not like being held by him. MC knows he’s truly back when he picks her up, and she giggles, and then hugs him..
She begins crying out of relief which scares the shit out Alain, who fears she’s hurt.
She tells Alain if she doesn’t survive to take care of their daughter in her stead. He at first denies the request, but when she makes it practically an order, he complies, albeit reluctantly.
When they’re in Chicago, they run into the baby’s bio daddy. It does not go over well when the man insults MC in front of Alain, especially when the man mocks the toddler as well.
MC is pretty much convinced that anyone who tries to be in a relationship with their daughter when she’s older is going to have one hell of a fight on their hand.

One by one
summary:   After the defeat of the Teen Titans, Raven agrees to lead the League of Shadows alongside Damian, but she must face her own fears and earn a place among the assassins. AU JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK: APOKOLIPS WAR SPOILERS
Rated M (Blood, intense violence, sexual themes and strong languague)
Disclaimer: Everything belongs to DC COMICS
PREFACE
The pain seemed like a steel stake that merged with her soul, penetrating her bones and wounding the blood vessels, touching the correct points and it would take a long time to rip it from her veins. Raven had suffered for whole days, it hurt so much that tears are not enough, although she knows that she must be strong, she cannot avoid being overwhelmed.
Conner looks up, his eyes that once were merry and rogue are now two empty sockets. The surviving Titans are gathered at the entrance to the island, away from the bloodshed, but their minds travel to painful places.
The cost of this war was high; it had taken Kory, Garfield, Wally, Roy, all her friends, her family. She no longer has the energy to speak, smile and wish for a better tomorrow; nothing would be the same anymore.
Her mind flies like a butterfly to Richard Grayson, her mentor and one of the best men she had ever known, he was one of the fallen. If he were here, he would know how to turn off the silence of death. He would guide them as always and take them away from the pain as he could. She wants to see him one last time and say goodbye accordingly, share even a moment with her friends, she would tell Kory that she was like a mother to her and she would never forget her, she represented a beacon of light in the dark, but she knows the immense love Kory had for Dick and she does not want to see the suffering on their faces when she finds out about the death of her partner. One of her parts thinks that perhaps it is better that both were dead, it avoided that they will mourn the death of the other, at least death is a simple thing and they could rest.
If there is something called heaven, she is sure that her friends would be there, they got the simple part. Raven knows that she will not go to heaven, it is not made for the daughters of demons, but she would be happy because somewhere they would be happy and reunited, although she would never see them again.
She wonders because of all of them she is who survived, she did not deserve it. Others think the same.
Donna hugs her knees, looks like a little girl holding on to a stuffed animal. Her hair is covered in a layer of dirt and debris, her uniform has cuts and her shoulder is hurt. A stab so deep that it reveals the bone, they had washed her, and Raven wanted to heal her, but she didn't let her. The young Amazon did not complain but Raven saw the pain on her face and the sweat like a film on her forehead, perhaps it is better to focus on physical suffering.
The rain creeps off the fire, nobody moves. Their bodies are wet, and it doesn't bother them, it's as if discomfort and cold are nothing.
What will they do now? They do not return to the tower for days, which before represented hope and dreams, where lonely young people found a home now it is a killing field. She had heard the story of Icarus. The young man who made wings, attached them to his back with wax and flew very close to the sun. His wings were melted by the temperature and he collapsed, his body crashed to the ground.
Perhaps they were like Icarus, their glory days were short, and the heroes had sealed their own tomb when they invaded Apokolips. Even if they managed to recover, the world would never be the same, it would never be the same.
''Your heroes were scum, a bunch of arrogant idiots, daughter. If I had freed myself...''
Turn off your voice.
How do you learn to live with the impossible? Raven would take the pain of her friends, keep it, and suffer in solitude, if they smiled back at her. Watching Jump City is painful, it reminds her of her first home, when she lost her mother in the blink of an eye and was forced to live with that mistake. She would lay down her life for Kory, offer her remaining strength and magic to win back her friends.
How would she go on? How is it possible to recover from this?
"I'll go back to Themiscyra." says Donna. Her voice is a whisper, and the rain hits her body forming rivers of dirty water. She doesn't know if there are tears running down her cheeks or it's just the rain. "I'm leaving tonight."
They don't say anything.
The news hits Raven, despite everything, she still thinks she can stay. She does not want to lose a friend as valuable as the Amazon, but she also knows that they have to leave. They cannot stay, the tower is destroyed, there is no reason to return, and at any moment the parademons can return. It pains her to think that something she has worked so hard for was dissolving in her hands.
"Go soon…." Conner sighs. The boy does not move, he is like a statue and his eyes remain focused on the fire of the bonfire being extinguished by the rain and the smoke, a curtain that is dividing his friends. "At least you'll be in a safe place, Donna." the Amazon doesn't say anything.
He watches her and, wonders what it's like to have a home. A place he could take refuge, arms outstretched to hug, familiar faces wishing for the best and healing. Conner does not have a family. He is the result of an experiment and he does not think that he considers Lex Luthor as his father and they did not know where Superman was. Raven lost her mother and dimension years ago. They have no place to go.
If her mother and Azarath were alive, she might run into her arms, hug Arella, and cry until her eyes were dry, exposing her feelings and emotions like never before.
''You were always strong, daughter. If there is someone who can recover from anything, it is you.'' Arella told her this when she broke her leg after falling from a tree and she had to resist the magical procedures of the monks. She still remembers how her mother had caressed her forehead. Wiping away the sweat, her grunts and complaints, how she placed a kiss on her forehead gently.
''You are trusting, too proud and arrogant.'' the older monk murmured when she escaped from the lessons and appeared for the exams, emerging victorious. Raven thought the monk hated her when she forced him to find her among the temples. He grumbled and growled, but she saw the fun in his emotions and had been some kind of grumpy grandfather. When Trigon razed the dimension, she only found a broken skull, it was the only thing left of the monk.
They had left her dealing with her mistakes, blaming herself for what she did as a child; feeling helpless in hell and fighting her father. The Titans were no different, her mind wonders what would have been had she escaped from Trigon after he attacked Superman, if he hadn't listened to them and traveled between dimensions, maybe the end result wouldn't hurt as much.
Her mother visits her at night.
In her dreams she is never angry at what she did. The monk still looks for her and scolds her when she runs through the squares, all the monks and the bright skies are there. Now she adds other burdens on her back, Dick's mischievous gaze, Kory's softness, Garfield's silly jokes, as Jaime loved competition and spoke with love about his younger sister.
Shit, she would miss them so much.
She had had a home and lost it, when she let her guard down and became fond again, they took it from her in the worst possible way.
Now one of her friends was leaving her.
Her insides ache and she thinks she can vomit right now. She feels the anxiety devouring her guts, the pain showing up and the idea of being alone terrifies her too much. She is afraid of being alone in a ghost town.
Jump City is her second Azarath.
In her native dimension there were no decomposed and dismembered bodies. The smell of blood did not rise, and no cries were heard from afar. There was only fire and ashes, and the voice of her father manipulating the situation, insisting that it is the best she has, now only the deaf suffering remains.
"I'll be going too." Raven gasps. Feeling the weight of loneliness and swallows hard. "I need to see if the Kent’s are okay." Conner looks up, as if expecting someone to appear in the clouds. "He would want it." he murmurs.
She looks down, her hair is wet, and a drop of rainwater descends from her head to her forehead, it is the only thing she perceives. Raven does not have a family, they do not expect her return on a protected island and there is no house in the middle of the field, there is no one waiting for her.
Everything she owned was taken from him.
Perhaps only death, loneliness and pain would be her faithful companions. She imagines herself wandering among the rubble, observing in first person what was left of the city that they protected for years, trying to find herself between the disaster and the tears. She doesn't want that.
What will become of her now?
When Damian shows up, he has civilian clothes, his hands are broken and there is a thick layer of mud that stains his clothes, his nails are a mixture of earth and blood. His face is neutral, and his eyes are hard, there is a grimace that has not left his face and she thinks it may be something permanent.
He stares spitefully at the Superman symbol on Conner's chest.
Titus follows, the Great Dane trotting alongside his companion. The formality and discipline that characterized the dog seemed attenuated, as if he knew that the situation was not good and he did not want to cause problems. She looks him in the eye, he sits next to her, does not give her second glances, there is a backpack on his back and reality hits her, like a slap.
''I'm the only thing you have, witch.''
She had barely seen Damian since the fall of the Teen Titans. He stood next to Dick's body, as if he couldn't believe it and the pain was a tsunami for a few moments, until he looked up straight at the sky. Raven had watched him harden, build a breastplate for himself, and she hasn't felt so much anger coming from the young man since he came to the Titans.
He did not let the wound in his torso heal, he treated it by himself without anesthesia and when the pain came he preferred to find out inside, she felt that she was losing him, that the person who visited her in her room in the afternoons, who drank tea in porcelain cups and worried about her safety more than anyone, was no longer here. Raven thought she had punctured his walls, that they could look each other in the eye untethered, but she knows she will no longer be able to knock him down.
Her soul is in pieces, but she prefers that he leave. That he leaves in silence because at least they would not have a farewell and she would not cry to see his back without looking back. Damian would hurt less to leave her behind, he's strong and would fight to earn a place in the world, and Raven would be left in the ruins with nothing to hold on to, there would be nothing that mattered to her. No one would cry for her.
''Even your friends are leaving you. I am the only thing you have.''
What a miserable life.
"I'm leaving." Damian declares. It was direct and cold, and Raven hopes it will be. "I leave in the morning. "
Of course.
"Good luck." Donna hugs her knees tighter. She hides her head and they can see how she trembles and is collapsing. They do nothing to comfort her and Titus is the only one sitting next to her, but he does not make any movement, he is simply there. "They'll be fine, right?" She says in a broken voice.
The sobs seem just as useless and sad as the rain. Raven thinks Donna is expressing herself for the group, as no one else had shed a single tear and they kept their pain to themselves. For a few minutes their heads are too helpless to provide encouragement.
Conner grimaces at the girl. She can feel the suffering tearing his soul, his mouth trembles in what looks like a pout and his eyes are red, threatening to shed tears, but before this happens, he puts on his glasses. One of the lenses is broken and it is not very protective or effective.
He puts on his glasses as if that will remind him of who he is, but it's more than that. He uses it so they don't see him cry.
Damian remains motionless, clenching his fists and frowning. She can see the thoughts going through his head, like a whirlpool and he doesn't let her see his emotions, he is a ghost that Raven cannot chase.
They are all ghosts that will disappear in a few hours.
***
When Donna leaves, she is silent. The girl had been crying for hours until she sighed and got up, when she managed to regain her composure, she did not look back or say goodbye, but takes off when the sun hides among the mountains.
It is as if the star knew what was happening, since it disappears on the horizon along with her friend.
Raven is left remembering the moments she shared with Donna, knowing that perhaps she will never see her again.
***
"Be well." Conner grimaces. He was about to leave as he was worried about the Kent’s. He hadn't shared much with the couple, but they were kind of parents to Superboy and he tried to keep in touch. She would like to tell him that the old couple are fine, however this is hardly possible, "We had some good years." he keeps his eyes on the stars.  "But I'm done."
Raven remains silent, clasping her hands in her lap and ducking her head. Conner is about to leave and cannot feel worse because she knows that she is staying alone. She wants to be angry with them for not considering her in their plans. Leaving her with a wound in her heart so big that she does not know how to cure the pain, but she is not like them.
She has no one and everyone needs to recover, at least until the suffering was bearable. Now they are sore, tired and want to be anywhere but here.
She's not going to blame Conner for leaving.
She wasn't going to blame them for leaving her behind.
"Will you take care of yourself?"
She raises her head in surprise at the question. Conner is looking at her through his glasses.
"I can take care of myself." But her inner strength is faltering.
Silence is a monster, he does not respond, but sighs while staring at the tower and a pout forms on his mouth, it is a trembling line "Send my good wishes to Damian." The Son of Batman disappeared with Titus after Donna left, giving the excuse that the animal wanted to eat and something inside Raven cut off at the thought that he might go. That it might be the last time she would see him. Conner's feet floated a few inches off the ground, and he looked at Raven. "Find me if you need anything ... "
She nodded.
Her hands trembled at the sides of her body, as if she had no control. It pained her to think that she was being left alone, her memory returning to the battle, to the place where she was before the world became a field of deaths and tormented souls. She thinks of Darkseid, he had inflicted more damage on them than he thought. He is probably sitting on a throne with death as his servant, millions of lives in his hands, mocking the stupidity of those who faced him, keeping them alive was a punishment.
It would have been better if she died… Dying is easy.
But her death is not easy, it would not come from anywhere and Raven always knew that she would have a long existence. Right now, she just thinks it would be better to die in battle, at least she would take Trigon with her and...
''Let me out, daughter. I can...''
"Goodbye, Rae."
Conner disappeared into the heavy clouds laden with the promise of a thunderstorm. The superhero is so dramatic that he chose to leave when the mist covers the destroyed shoreline of Jump City, when pieces of the buildings still fall to the ground and there is a concrete explosion, like a bomb.
Even the sky is sad.
Raven closes her eyes by burying her head in her hands, struggling with the situation, with the silence that is a being that tries to eat her. It is ironic to her as she described herself as someone silent, a friend of private spaces and that old comfort of when you contemplate a landscape, now her qualities are defects.
No one would save her.
She does not have her friends to sustain herself in the midst of pain and despair, there is only death and abandonment.
A lump is installed in her throat and she cannot get rid of it.
''You are weak, you filthy witch. You are just like your mother.''
''I love you to the moon and back.'' says his mother. Her mind goes back to that time when she escaped from a lesson only to chase that little cat who was stealing her lunch and the monks had scolded her. She thought she would be angry and would approve of her being punished, but she watched her with love and caressed her cheeks. ''I don't care if they tell you that you are proud, confident and highlight your flaws. You are my girl, my little bird.''
''You are the most hopeful heroine I have ever met.'' Dick smiled at her and the sun illuminated his features. A sweet softness wrapped around him as Kory joined them, the alien taking her hand. ''Don't go, stay with the Teen Titans.'' observed Dick. ''We can help you choose clothes, remodel your room and accompany you to buy those little ducks that go in the bathtub.''
None of them are here, they are just voices that would be lost over time. Raven doesn't want to forget, she has no right to recover from this.
It would have been better to die.
An arm wraps around her shoulder, she doesn't need her powers to know that it’s Damian and she finds herself burying her head in his chest, clutching her fists to his clothes, as if he is going to disappear. She doesn't want him to leave, Raven wants his heart to return, she thinks he would be better elsewhere. Her intentions were never to win with Damian, and she would give in if that implied the safety of this boy. She just wants him to be happy.
Damian lost his brother. They did not know what had happened to Batman and Gotham fell a few days ago. He has nothing.
He pressed down on her body and she could feel his jaw pressed to her head. If she lost him, she would keep this moment forever, she clinging to his arms and he wrapping his arms around her when the sky opens and reveals the stars. She wants to memorize his scent, his strength and he is a point in a story that she did not reach to be narrated; If she had been braver, she would have confessed her feelings to him before, but her life is not made for fairy tales. They are built on a darker premise.
Titus groans and rests his head on her shoulder, runs his tongue over her face and it is a relief. She will miss the animal.
What hero has a happy story?
In another reality he could be hers, or at least enter her life in a different way, even if he rejects her, she would still have him and that would be enough.
She feels his mouth open and close, not knowing what to say. She knows what he will say.
"Don't cover it with sugar, Damian."
He is silent. Raven looks up, still refusing to give up his arms and is looking into his eyes, her green eyes are looking directly at her and she can't believe that this is her end.
She would remember the green tone of his eyes, not compared to wet grass, to the water of a river, but to jade. Damian has grown in recent years; his jaw has become square and must be shaved to get a beard away from his face. His skin color has become more olive, his bones ached when he had a rapid growth and his body developed muscles in the areas closer to that of grown man.
He has changed.
"I'll go back to the League of Assassins." he frowns. "I have already spoken to Lady Shiva."
She thought it would hurt, but she couldn't imagine how much, and her fingers were loosening. Her knowing it was coming indirectly is one thing, hearing it from his lips makes it a reality and loneliness crushes her heart.
Donna is gone.
Conner disappeared into the clouds a few hours ago.
Damian was leaving her now, too.
She had to have seen the signs, maybe it was her bad judgment that convinced her that there was a remote chance that he would stay, but what for? He has nothing to fight for, they cannot remain in the tower forever.
"Oh." escapes her lips.
Suddenly she's walking away, and it may be the last time she sees him.
She wonders if Damian has no doubts. He left the League of Assassins for years and Batman does not approve of Ra's Al Ghul lifestyle, only the one he had intended for his son and instilled other values in him, he would not think well of Damian upon returning. Raven does not know what to think, the barrier could deepen between the two, the league is full of criminals. Maybe going back to the league is the only thing he had as insurance in his life, there is no Nightwing, Batman or the Teen Titans.
One part of her justifies it, but the other is terrified to discover what he could become.
"Everyone is leaving." she murmurs. She tries to keep her tone neutral, but it breaks like a tuned guitar string.
Where would she go? She doesn't have a home, can't even look at the tower without feeling devastated, overwhelmed with pain, and wouldn't be able to make it through the city on her own. Her empathic abilities would end up driving her insane, there's too much pain, the city is kindled by suffering and from a distance she distinguishes its colors.
Damian looks down and she sees the fight in his mind, she almost wants to pass a hand to smooth the wrinkle that forms between his brows.
She would miss that wrinkle.
"Come with me. "
What?
He watches her, there is a shyness sparkle in his eyes and if he had not been so close, he may not even hear it, his proposal is so fast in a thick tone that it would be confusing, but Raven heard it clearly.
She is stunned by the offer.
"Come with me. Lead the League of Assassins by my side." He was looking her in the eye now. His katana in its case, and him in a hoodie. He looks casual, as if he had never witnessed death and pain with his own eyes. "You can do it. You are a good fighter."
Hope was shining within her, Damian wanted them to go together, but she is not an assassin; she has nothing to claim among the ranks of the league.
She can't imagine leading an organization made up of assassins, but where would she go? She has nothing and nobody. She had heard that her mother had a sister, but Arella never spoke directly of her family, limiting herself to just Raven and she doubts very much that they would have survived. She doesn't want to say goodbye to Damian Wayne and watch him go off into the unknown.
Say Yes! A voice inside shouts, it’s optimistic marked by blind love and the promise of a tomorrow, perhaps not a better one, but it is still a more decent future than one of solitude and corpses. She is surprised at how idealistic she can be, even with everything that happened, she still dreamed of this boy, she still sighed because he was offering her a different life, one that would allow her to see him every day. You are not an assassin.
They are his people, not yours, a wicked voice warned her, it is like a snake poisoned with truth, more damaging than her father's words.
''Do you think you will write the tale of the witch and the assassin, idiot girl? '' Trigon scoffs. ''Don't make me laugh, daughter. You are weak, you have always been equal to your mother who believed in demons that fall in love with humans and golden futures.''
Do you want to play the queen of assassins so much?
Raven ducks her head, refusing to look him in the eye. Her mind was in conflict, she wanted to quench her father's teasing and her racing heart believing that he would not leave her alone. She wished for them to build a future together, but she also knows that the place where they would go is not idyllic; It is not a paradise.
"We can be secure." he offers as if it were the last resort. Damian's tone is soft, but it is mixed with doubt and silent resignation, as if he were realizing that she would say no. "It is one of the safest places on the planet."
She strokes his uniform cape, as if to remind herself that this is real, and he is still here.
They look at each other in the eyes. Damian's breathing is heavy, time freezes and she knows that this moment can define what would be of her life in what they had left, she could change it for better or worse.
The person in front of you. The future in front of you.
For the first time in three days she looks at the tower, it is destroyed, holes and cracks damage the T and she realizes that he cannot stay. She cannot bear the idea of being alone, she could not compose herself; she doesn't want to go through another hell where she only has Trigon as a company, him feeding on her pain and weakness. Her father would feel no empathy for her, even if she died, he would still worry about himself.
Maybe it would not be perfect, but it is a future, and she does not want to lose him.
"I'm going to go." She clears her throat. "I'll go with you to the League of Assassins."
Damian nods.
***
She hadn't expected the trip to be this long, but Damian insists it would be days. Nanda Parbat is a fortress in Tibet, she is trying to locate it on the map, and she is half a world away, so they must take a trip on a plane waiting for them outside Jump City. She does not distinguish the face of the pilot, as he is covered by a mask that only leaves his eyes exposed and bows when he sees Damian.
Raven had looked out the window at the decimated city. She has not packed, did not want to rescue anything that was her home, but found a jewel that had belonged to Starfire; she said that it was the only thing she could bring from Tamaran, it is a violet stone that catches sunlight and reminds her of her friend. It had been lying a few meters from her shattered body, as if in her last moments she had clung to the stone.
It breaks her heart when she sees the jewel.
Titus rests his head on her lap and yawns. She smiles at the animal and strokes its head; he had been a loyal and brave dog not to be disturbed when seeing the chaos that the world had become. His soft fur is like the fibers of a carpet and it is warm, like a stuffed animal. He reminds her of good things, laughs in the park, the pet store that always smelled of food, and a box of puppies they gave away in the city center.
The pilot barely looks at her. She is surprised by the technology of the plane, although it is small. Damian sits in the passenger seat, as if he were the one directing it, gives the pilot instructions in another language and the man nods.
When the plane takes off, Raven cannot take her eyes off the city. She feels bad for leaving the corpses of her friends and not giving them a decent burial and leaving. They deserved better.
Watching Jump City hurts, however, she can't look away either.
She wonders what Kory, Garfield, or any of her friends would think if they found out what she was doing, would they get mad? Perhaps they were reproving her from heaven, they look at her with furious eyes and they would have a bad opinion of her decision to follow Damian to lead an organization that the heroes disapprove of.
Jump City, the city where memories had been formed and would remain here, the destroyed tower is a point on the small island from afar, it seems like a fallacy that a few weeks ago she would have lived in that tower with other thoughts hanging around her head. She stretches out her hand on the glass when the plane is about to take off, her fingers touch the point where the destroyed tower is positioned and murmurs a silent prayer to Uxia, the spirit that guides souls to eternal rest and is the protector of the martyrs, to direct her fallen friends to a better place than she is heading for.
"Goodbye." she whispers.
She wants to see their faces for the last time, that they are in a place full of light. Because people as wonderful as them deserve the best, if this life did not offer it to them, then let it be in the next ones.
Feeling eyes on her, Damian is watching her from the passenger seat and there is a grimace on his face, he disappears in the blink of an eye and presses buttons and continues giving orders with a firm voice.
Titus falls asleep on her lap.
The plane takes off and for a few moments she swears that there is a figure flying around the tower, but by then the plane has already crossed the mountains and she is observing the ocean.
Raven presses the jewel that belonged to her friend against her chest, praying that she had not been wrong and blinded by feelings.
''You are weak. You are running away like your mother, but don't worry, daughter; you'll ruin it anyway. You always do it.''
