I know for a fact that there are other people who feel like that, because I have friends who are VERY not open/public about their more problematic tastes. Shit dude, I wasn't always yelling on main either, my first fics were under Anonymous on Ao3 (even the safe ones! I was just shy) and I had a whole secret side account on Twitter for the less wholesome stuff.

I know what you mean by a fandom being A Lot, too, trust me, I only joined fandom spaces a few years ago and it was like right on time to see the chaotic descent from a (slightly) more chill place into what it is now.

Okay, so first disclaimer, I don’t speak either Gaelic or Russian. I used Google Translate, so they aren’t going to be 100% accurate, but it’s a drabble for a fictional universe, so who cares right? There will be a translation key at the bottom.

The sound of something heavy being knocked to the ground and a sudden cry of pain had Julian leaping from his desk, his chair teetering back on two legs before toppling backwards. Long legs carried him with great haste to the kitchen where he had left Vienna, heart rising into his throat. She was bent over the sink, her hand plunged to the wrist in a bucket of water, and was shouting in a language he didn’t recognize.

"In ainm Dhia! Táim chun tú a chaitheamh san fharraige, píosa cac! Máithreachas!"

For a moment, he stood stunned, storm-grey eyes darting from Vienna to the stove to the small iron kettle she used to make tea lying in a puddle of steaming water on the floor. She was still muttering angrily, her brows pinched, eyes flashing venom-green. After a beat, he spoke, carefully avoiding the still-hot water as he crossed to her.

“Sweetheart, are you alright? What happened?”

Instantly, her eyes returned to their normal warm hazel and her expression smoothed out when she realized he was near, lifting her hand out of the water with a chagrined smile. “The handle snapped on the kettle and it burned me,” she explained, turning her arm to show him the angry red welt across the back of her hand. “Sorry if I startled you.”

“Not at all,” he assured her, gingerly taking her hand in his own to examine the burn; he had been startled, but now wasn’t the time to admit it. “Well, fortunately, I don’t think I’ll have to amputate.” His eyes flashed as he grinned, and her laugh dispelled the last of his worry. “An aloe compress should fix it right up.”

Julian, ever gentle, guided her to the table and sat her down while he snipped a small frond from the aloe plant she grew in a pot by the window, scraping out the clear gel inside into a clean piece of muslin and squeezing until it began to ooze through. Carefully, he applied the compress to her hand, wrapping a length of gauze around it to hold it in place. “So,” he began, his eyes steady on his work, “what exactly were you shouting?”

Her cheeks turned pink, her expression turning sheepish, like a child caught in an act of mischief. "Well...they weren't exactly phrases you'd hear in civilized company."

That cause the corner of his mouth to lift in a grin, tying off the gauze though he didn’t relinquish her hand just yet. "Since when have I ever been considered civilized company, darling?"

Vienna laughed softly, then with her cheeks still pink, she leaned forward and murmured the translation. Julian threw back his head and laughed, his shoulders shaking with the force of it. "I always knew you'd make a fantastic pirate; you can swear like a sailor already!" He brought her injured hand to his lips and kissed her fingertips, still chuckling. "You'll have to teach me how to properly swear in your native language, I've been meaning to expand my repertoire."

Vienna cocked her brow, the edges of her lips curling in turn. "Only if you'll teach me some in Nevivonian."

His lips pursed in thought as he grew silent, recalling a few of his favorites. “Well, one that Mazelinka liked to use was podlaya pizda. Then there’s ublyudok, sukin syn, mudak, and my personal favorite, sifiliticheskiy pridurok.” He ticked them off on his fingers, the strange language dripping off his tongue like rainwater, and Vienna didn’t realize she was staring until he gave her a questioning look. “Sweetheart, you’re blushing.”

Now that he said something, she did feel a bit warm around the neck. “It’s just...well, you don’t speak your native language very often, and it’s…” Her flush deepened a shade or two. “I may not know what you’re saying, but I like hearing you say it.”

He practically purred at her admission, reaching for her waist to draw her closer. “Really? Perhaps we could teach each other some more intimate phrases?” His fingertips slid up her arm as he leaned forward to brush his lips against the shell of her ear, his breath tickling her skin as he murmured. "Ya zhazhdu uvidet' tebya razdetym i zhelayushchim, samym lyubimym v moyem serdtse."

Vienna felt a shudder ripple down her spine, goosebumps breaking out across her flesh as a wave of heat pooled in her belly. “Two can play at that game,” she muttered before looping her arms around Julian’s neck, pressing herself against his chest and batting her lashes up at him. “Ilya, gráinn, cén fáth nach gcaitheann tú mé thar an tábla seo agus go nglacfaidh mé liom mar fraochÚn bréan?" As she spoke, her unbandaged hand slipped down his neck, dragging her nails down his throat hard enough to leave four red trails, though not quite hard enough to sting. Nonetheless, Julian let out a throaty noise of pleasure, shivering in her arms, pressing one hand at her lower back to push her hips against his. Slowly, as if waiting for permission, he brushed his lips against hers, the barest whisper of a kiss, until she took his face between her hands and brought her mouth crashing down on his, kissing him properly, passionately, hungrily. Hands clutched, eyes closed, hips rocked as they sought heat and friction, until they withdrew, panting and grinning. 

“Bedroom?” Julian’s eyes were wide, pleading, flushed from the tips of his ears to the top of his chest. Vienna nodded, clutching him as he rose to his feet, arms secure around her as her legs wrapped around his waist. “I think I could use a more...thorough lesson in your language, love.”

Thoughts on Endgame

Spoilers under the cut

Let’s start with the negatives to get it out of the way, yeah?

I can not believe they didn’t fix the travesty that was Loki’s death in IW. That big of a character? That character arc? A character that was only supposed to be a one movie villain yet became one of the most beloved characters of the entire MCU? You fully expect us to believe that the end of such an amazing character would be going at Thanos with a dagger and being killed off in the beginning of a movie? Like he was nothing? Insulting to Loki, insulting to the fans.

I can understand why they killed Nat instead of Clint, although I was fuming during that scene, I did not cry one bit, I was that pissed off. And yeah maybe the patriarchy has made me bitter and resentful but all I could think of was “You really gonna do that? Kill off the only female Avenger of the original 6?” and especially after how they have treated her character, giving her a new personality every movie. It didn’t feel right. Would’ve made more sense (to me at least) for Hawkeye to take the plunge and for Nat to dissappear at the end of the movie, just leaving never to be heard of again. It feels more in line with their characters. But maybe that’s just me.

Thor. Don’t even get me started on the dumpsterfire that is Thor’s character. Up until Ragnarök he was consistent, he made sense. Then ragnarök came and turned both Thor and Loki into cartoons, a character development that made no sense. And now the Russos finished Taika’s work by putting the final nail in Thor’s characterisation coffin by making him a parody of himself. And also, I am deeply dissapointed in the MCU for turning obesity into a joke. “Look, a fat Thor, how funny, ha-ha.” Oh, and let’s not forget that apparently panic attacks are comedy gold as well. Thor is not this cartoon comic relief and I will deny anything Thor related post-AOU until my dying day. 

They fucking screwed Banner in much the same way. They turned him into a buffon and a comic relief.

I actually had a feeling Steve would find a way back into the 40′s and settle down with Peggy. And even though I think that’s a perfect ending for him, to finally get what he wanted (because yeah Steggy is canon, Peggy is the love of Steve’s life, and Stucky and Stony are fanon, get it straight (badum-tss) people/ sincerely a Stony shipper), it raises way too many questions about the timelines. If Steve stayed with Peggy then wouldn’t that create a different timeline because even though a second Steve would still get woken from the ice in 70 years, there is Peggy and the husband and children she never had that she in the “normal” timeline already had. And if so then our Steve is in a different timeline so how tf did he end up in the “normal” timeline all those years later, like an old man. How did he swap timelines? Or does the Russos have another explanation for what happened with Steve’s time fiddling?

Tony’s death. I still haven’t cried about it because it’s so surreal. It’s like my heart mind won’t accept it. I love how they gave him the final line from the first Iron man movie as his last one ever, but it still.. yeah I can’t really go into it because I haven’t fully processed it yet. Joe Russo being a doctor in CATWS and now he was a survivor in group? Are we supposed to think it’s the same character? He didn’t act like it? Like what was that?

And for all of you complaining about how “Steve would never leave Bucky behind”, did you not catch on when Bucky said “I’m going to miss you”? I mean clearly Steve would not do something like this without talking it through with Bucky first and I can imagine Steve asked if Bucky wanted to do the same, and Bucky refusing. He has suffered way more trauma than Steve, plus a dude with a metal arm in the forties? Schyeah, no. And yeah, Steve did say to Sam that he “got to thinking” or something like that, like the decision was made when he was already back there, but maybe that’s just something he says to Sam. You don’t think Sam would feel hurt or left out if he found out Steve had planned on doing this without telling him? And Bucky fucking knew. Or else he wouldn’t have told Sam to “Come on, go on” to go over to Steve, otherwise Bucky would have fucking gone first. He wasn’t surprised. So either they talked about it beforehand, or they didn’t because they didn’t have to, but Bucky knew.

And lastly my thoughts on the time line conundrum: So let’s call the standard timeline timeline 1, and our original Steve for Steve 1. So Steve 1 goes back in time to be with Peggy, creating Timeline 2 (so the Sam and Bucky he goes to visit shouldn’t be Timeline 1 Sam and Bucky but Timeline 2 Sam and Bucky, but somehow he skipped?), how does this work when Steve 2 gets brought back from the ice and goes to find Peggy, who in this timeline is married to Steve 1? And then when Steve 2 inevitably finds himself in the same Endgame scenario as Steve 1 had done, he will go back in time in Timeline 2. Will that create a Timeline 3 and so on and so forth to eternity? Or will he find himself a.k.a Steve 1 already there with Peggy at the moment where Timeline 1 broke off into Timeline 2?... This is giving me a headache and needs it’s own individual post.. 

Okay now let’s get to the good stuff

I love  my blue queen. Nebula is just amazing. And I love how they brought Gamora back because this Gamora who hadn’t left Thanos and joined the GOTG yet will just bring so much to the next GOTG movie and I am HERE FOR IT.

The scene where everyone came back. Do I need to say more? Best fucking scene in the entire MCU. I cried like full on ugly crying, with the noises and shaking and “fuckfuckfuck what is going on onscreen, everything is blurry!” So powerful.

Our all female attack group to help Danvers get through the masses of alien scum (hell yeah, I’m biased). My heart literally exploded into sunshine and rainbows.

 This deserves two bulletpoints. The female badassery!

Steve-motherfucking-Rogers picking up Mjölnir. Steve-motherfucking-Rogers is hella worthy.

The cinematography is just insane.

How wellmade the scenes in 2012 were? All the new scenes and angles we got to see and just, wow.

They managed to keep all these different timelines, stories and characters in time with each other in a way that it didn’t feel scattered and it all made sense.

Peter being a flailing potato teenager when he came back and the look  on Tony’s face.

Morgan Stark.

Stan Lee’s cameo.

Tony getting some closure with Howard.

Pepper Potts kicking ass and taking names in her own suit.

Rocket being a sassmaster (as well as Nebula “Watch out. There’s an idiot on the landsite.”)

The reconcileation between Cap and Tony. (Still lamenting the absence of the hug we all deserved but hey, what u gonna do?)

Valkyrie on her fucking winged horse, oh my fucking god I think the last hetero in me went belly up at that moment.

Carol- fucking- Danvers.

Frigga.

I’m sure there are more points and I will update this when I think of them, but this is what I got so far. And even though there’s a lot that pissed me off I am still very much happy with it and just in awe. I’m sad but.. yeah this was a good ending.

Honestly its surprising how not many people know this. But space marines reproduce through parasitism, specifically reverse brood-parasitism! Space marines are a lot similar to worker ants/ergates because they're all genetically siblings, leaving the job of "create more offspring" off to their respective parent primarch (queen ant equivalent).

"But blogger yestheantichrist??" you must be asking me, "if there's only 20 primarchs, how come there's so many space marines running around??". Well here is where I get into some pettuber drama:

EmperorOfMankind. Famous pettuber, beloved and beloathed by all. The man that started this dumpsterfire of a pet species, created primarchs (and by extension space marines) to be basically the ultimate pets for him in order to jumpstart his career as a youtuber and internet celebrity. And while I have many qualms with emps (the crypto-based browser Web-Way project, the banning and doxxing of anyone he disagreed with, his views on imperialism, the 2 missing primarchs, how nearly everyone who was part of the primarch project said that it was basically a cult, oh and lets not forget how he made the primarchs with HIS OWN FUCKING DNA), I'm not going to get into that in this post. If anyone does want good info on what he did i highly recommend youtuber CH4OS's multi-part video essay series on all that happened, though fair warning it is very long (honestly it could be made into an entire book series haha). But what i will say about the Emperor is that, in a way, he was damn good at his job. Because how he created the space marines made it really easy for them to multiply.

See. Since there's only 20 primarchs, and they all have his dna (jesus christ how did not get sent to court for this, like wouldn't it also be considered child abuse?!) the Emperor made it so that primachs could basically reproduce asexually. just get some of their dna, mix it up with some weird warp magic, and inject it into a child while brainwashing them and that's how you get a space marine! (and that's why they look so much like people btw)

So you see what I was trying to say in my original post? Space marines don't just come from nowhere. Your precious pet was once some kid who probably had a fidget spinner or something. I think the reason why most people don't know or refuse to talk about this is because they don't want to acknowledge the more darker aspects of space marine pet ownership. Though personally I do feel that having conversations about it would actually help us be more responsible owners rather than if we simply just ignored the Holy Terra-sized elephant in the room.

Honestly I think people are too lax on space marines being around children. Maybe it’s my opinion but it isn’t just aggression that you have to worry about. I had this friend back in elementary school who was allowed to play with the neighbours astartes, saw him like a year ago and he was decked out in power armour and had a latin name now. No cap. A straight up space marine.

People either shouldn’t let their space marines around their kids, or should (at the very minimum) instruct them that recruiting the kids is fully off limits. Cause marinelings don’t just spawn from thin air. So unless you want little timmy to become Battle Brother Timotherius I highly suggest heeding my advice

But dude! Every section of this fandom really so different and yet so similar in how they treasure their faves--y'know what I'm gonna gush and gossip on my blog I might as well call out some particularly biased folks who follow me

Innitblr and Dreblr are so fucking funny to me, they hate each other and yet have immaculate hcs but also just conflicting interpretations of the narrative?? they are all specimens, the lot of them (i cheekily eye the warrior cats inniter and the one with the luigi icon from innitblr and that fluffy soft dream artist + that person who kickstarted dream eating the prison pets hc; you four are fun but tempting to stuff in a room together)

Crimeboys and Rivals duo enthusiasts scare me, i like both dynamics but holy shit guys

I wish Happyduo/Badlands tumblr were louder why are they always in nooks and crannies or maybe i'm not looking hard enough idk; same goes for ppsat stans and i guess tirettwt stans to some degree

Feral boys enjoyers are cool, though imo out of most of the circles in dsmpblr, they're the most tropey with hcs and aus? idk, but a good lot take from impressions compared to sbi-centric fans who seem more in-depth when hc and au creating; not a criticism, just an observation

Ranboo enjoyers are either bench flavored, boreal flavored, or endersmile flavored (oh and those karlnapity shippers who want their trio to adopt him can join too) and honestly as a Ranboo enjoyer first time in the fandom, every single biased Ranboo enjoyer has a tendency to get Ranboo a little off; hard to find really good Ranboo enthusiasts

Yipblr are a bunch of salty but talented bad bitches; idk if all of you are projecting or angst enjoyers but man I can tell you all are starving

Eternal duo tumblr my beloved; good hcs and and art--everything in that circle is a vibe

Emerald duo tumblr have so many cool artists; they're eternal duo tumblr but they engage in way more discourse than the other it's honestly insane

Shoutout to lemonblr for having me, even though i'm just in an ideal timezone to catch Ponk's streams--same for Michaelmcchill fans of dsmpblr; these two have so much to say and i think these circles are sexy for recognizing that

I'm debating making another shout-out to those guys soon actually, haha! The fun in following everyone, especially when the conflicting takes follow after the other, is just reevaluating a take in real time? Idk, but I'm glad my blog has been good to you. I do think it takes a particular patience to scour apologist blogs, especially the ones with salt and bite. It's fun watching vaguing when you know where it's coming from. But man, there's something eye opening finding good takes. It's why I love analysis in this fandom no matter how messy it gets sometimes.
