Like he knows the events that happened to lead him here, but he can’t quite comprehend them. He lowers his bandaged arm back to the bed and stares at the wall. He doesn’t look at Mickey again. “So, um. Yeah. They patched you up,” Mickey says, the first tear falling down his cheek. He wipes it away, but the second isn’t far behind and he gives up trying to hide it. “You’ve been sleepin’ basically all night. They said you would. Said what happened was… traumatic, or whatever, and you’d need lots of rest.” “Stop,” Ian pleads. He closes his eyes, the words too painful to hear. To accept, maybe. Mickey nods, looking down at the floor. He twists his mouth to one side, sniffs. “I know you don’t wanna hear it. And you’re probably gonna hate me for makin’ you go to one of these places again—” “Don’t,” Ian whispers. “You’re gonna get some fucking help, Ian.” Mickey wipes at his face with the back of his hand. “I—I’m out of my depth here. Biggest surprise while writing this year?

The sense of community in the shameless fandom never fails to surprise me. It's one of my favorite fandoms I've ever been in, and the wonderful people i meet writing and reading and talking about these characters pushes me to keep writing. I don't think I'd still be writing without this lovely community tbh

name. macy pronouns. she / her preferred comms. discord but only after chatting a bit on tumblr dms to suss out vibes unless we've interacted a lot on dash name of muse. literally my entire roster . and no it is not getting trimmed idk how to do that //: experience in RP. i started tumblr rp in 2019 but i was on fb rp since like. 2009? best experiences. h8 to say it but when i joined the desc rpc in late 2019 it was probs the highlight of my rp experience on tumblr, purely bc i was just so new to tumblr rp and naive and excitable so i looked past a lot of things i wouldn't tolerate now. it was the most involved rpc - wise i'd ever been — co-owned a server, created and joined events, actually had sm fun that i haven't really been able to replicate ( but i think it's a given with how much my irl has changed and the time i can even spend on tumblr rp ), and then decimated that rpc :D joining grishaverse rpc is a close second, and then my time writing vincenzo was my last source of unbridled joy ;p outside of rpc experiences, it was the long - lasting friendships and relationship formed. pet peeves / dealbreakers. i have a lot and i've stopped pretending that i don't for the sake of making everyone happy or appearing "nice" or "peaceful". there's a lot of highly questionable behavior that goes on in the rpc ( that goes ignored bc people like to "its just rp let people have fun" ) that it doesn't really stop at pet peeves or dealbreakers for me but rather smth i think really needs to be fixed. anyways most of them can be found in my rules within the dni section! but lack of communication is a huuuuuuuuge pet peeve. also lack of taking accountability, victim - mentality, people who aren't normal about duplicates, people who are freaks, etc. muse preference ( fluff, angst, smut ). none as a singular ?? i get bored with just fluff, i get distraught with too much angst, and i get tired of pure smut ( i'm also just extremely picky with who i'd write actual smut with, it's only one person ). i do prefer threads that are actionable in some sense, when it's purely philosophical discussions or mostly introspection i check out reeeeeaaaal fast. plot or memes. both! but given my lack of energy and time, memes have been really helpful as a tool for me to get to things without relying on active plotting. but ultimately i would like to plot so we have something that works longterm. long or short replies. both! it really depends on the substance because there could be novella type threads that. don't do much, and short threads that actually pack quite a lot into what's written. best time to write. night <3 are you like your muse. the muse types i go for have been less predictable lately, but previously i would gravitate towards baddie fems and clown mascs, some vein of mentally ill, and i think that kinda perfectly encapsulates me as a person. i am a baddie ( real ) and i am very stupid.

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

ALL of them are Supergirl from back in the early-ish days of the show when it was a pretty massive (by femslash standards, I suppose) and very active fandom! It's actually so interesting seeing how absolutely nothing I've written in more than half a decade even shows up, since I've largely switched to smaller fandoms since then.

But the top 5 fics by kudos are:

Stronger Together, a collection of one-shots for various Supergirl ships (with a few gen fics mixed in), which has nearly 5k kudos (WILD to me as someone now in a fandom with maybe 25 people total haha)

Welcome to the Gayborhood, my first ever fic, a looong Sanvers and Supercorp professor AU that still keeps the alien/supernatural elements of canon

6,500 miles away...but getting closer, a Sanvers epistolary fic that my wife and I actually co-wrote and posted 1 letter/email per day every day for many months

Noise Complaint, a Sanvers next-door neighbor AU that, hilariously, given its placement in the top 5 here, is what catalyzed a series of events that led to me very much leaving the fandom (and fandom writ large for nearly a year)

Supercat Sanvers 2020, a Sanvers and Supercat political AU that was maybe one of the last long-form works I wrote before moving out of DC!

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I really try to! Sometimes if it's from a person I know well, I end up responding via DMs, esp if there are questions about what comes next, plotting elements, etc., that I don't necessary want everyone to see while the fic is still being posted, but mostly I try to respond on AO3. I've gotten a bit worse in the past few years just because I'll manage to eke out a bit of time to write, which puts me behind on my work, and then I don't leave myself time to respond, and by the time I DO have time, it feels awkwardly late to do so. But even if I don't respond, I absolutely love/cherish/adore/etc. every single kind comment I've ever been given <3

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Forgoten, but not Gone - a Sanvers amnesia AU set post-breakup that's heavy on the angst with a rather ambiguous ending. I got talked into writing a part 2 that resolves the angst haha, but taken on it's own it's definitely my angstiest ending!

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Huh idk! Most of my fics end on fairly happy, if a bit open, endings. I'm not a big fan of having all the loose ends tied up, and I realllyyyy don't do the marriage/2 kids/white picket fence epilogue, so I guess maybe the political AU has to be up there because it actually envisions a world where a queer woman wins the presidency on a progressive platform, and that feels rather utopian 🙃

8. Do you get hate on fic?

Not in a while, though I used to back in the days, like super vitriolic shit (big fandoms with too-big emotions, man... which has really kept me away maybe forever from those kinds of fandoms!)

9. Do you write smut?

Haha very much so. I've written and posted before about why, but I really believe there's so much interesting character work and exploration that can be done by exploring characters' pleasures, their desires (both thwarted and realized), their fantasies, etc. Obviously smut isn't the only way to do this, but fanfic feels like one of the few venues where it's a real possibility!

10. Do you write crossovers?

Nah, not really. I've written a handful of bring characters x and y into the universe of another show fics, but that feels mostly different. Every so often I'll borrow vague character outlines for tertiary characters in other fics just to see if folks recognize them (had Grace Hanson as a grumpy background character in a Sanvers fic set at PT for instance hah)

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Once or twice, but we got them taken down

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yeah, one of my SG fics was translated into Russian! I'm not sure if it's still up (tbh I can't recall which one; it's been a long time!) I've also had a couple podfics now made of my fics, one of which I still need to go listen to when I get the time!!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yeah! The long-form Sanvers epistolary fic my wife and I co-wrote together, and a group of Supercat authors got together and did a delightfully chaotic round robin, each writing one sentence, then setting a timer for the next person to write the next sentence, etc., until we had Intergalactic Standard Cuddling

14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?

Oh man, I really don't know that I have a favorite! I really appreciate what various ships can offer me at different times - there are certain themes that make sense to explore with one pairing but not at all with another, or certain AUs that work in one fandom but not really in another. Basically, if a show is giving me multiple female characters who interact in canon in ways that go beyond existing near each other, I'm intrigued, and if these characters actually get depth and complexity, I'm probably in! There are, however, some ships that I might not end up feeling fannish/creative about even though I love them as ships (I talked a lot to @trying-to-get-somewhere-real about this recently, actually!), so it's hard to name a favorite when the metrics get all wonky!

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but probably won’t?

I don't want to say never, but I have a Cat-centric fic that'll end on Supercat that just has a lot of angst that coincided with a period of unexpected loss and grief in my own life in ways that have made it really hard to get back into even now (it just feels so...enmeshed with that moment, even though the timing was utterly coincidental)

16. What are your writing strengths?

I think I do a good job with dialogue and getting characters' voices down - I'm really into the character side of things (which is also what gets me invested fannishly in shows! I want a show that cares about developing their characters first and foremost vs. a show where plot takes priority)

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Certain kinds of action scenes haha - also I tire easily of writing things that feel repetitive to things I've done/written before (this was more of an issue when I took prompts)

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Largely, this isn't something I've had to deal with much outside of maybe a few phrases and sentences from multilingual characters. I've talked before about how it was actually the language/translation barrier that kept me from writing for Madre Solo hay Dos. I don't speak Spanish, and getting a show entirely via the Netflix-provided translations meant 1) I was fairly certain there were some word choice/dialect peculiarities I was missing, and 2) I couldn't catch the rhythms of their speech, the cadence of their voices at least in ways that corresponded to the specific words. For me, voice matters so much, and it really felt like a barrier to not have access to the source language because I felt like I couldn't do these two women justice!

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

Oh I've answered this elsewhere with 2-3 works, and tbh I don't think it's changed since then! I'm actually far more interested in others' favorite fics of mine because it's so interesting to think about the question of *what* sticks with a person from yours (it's often so idiosyncratic!!)

God, I try, but I'm so bad at it. I always feel so awkward about comment replies. I wish I could just click like on them and leave an emoji or something. I do try to get to as many as I can, though.

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I dunno if you'd call it angst exactly, but I've written a fair amount of noncon where the "bad guys" win. Probably Experiment XB-20, which ends with someone finding out they've been getting repeatedly memory wiped and then nonconned, shortly before getting memory wiped again.

What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I write a lot of happy endings, tbh. Let's just say that the large majority of my fics end reasonably happily for most participants involved. (With a few notable exceptions.)

Do you get hate on fics?

You would think I would. I write a lot of unrepentant noncon, often with underage characters. I write RPF. I write incest. But apart from the occasional "wtf" comment, I've so far managed to avoid attracting significant hate. If I did get a hate comment, I would just delete it. I am too old for drama.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Fuck yes. All kinds! I have been writing smut since I first started writing fiction. Stephen King once said, in response to a question about why he wrote horror fiction, that if he and Louis L'Amour both visited a lake, Louis would write about cowboys herding cattle near the lake, whereas King would write about a creepy lake monster; that's just how their brains work. Well, I would write about people having weird, power dynamic-y, kinky sex near the lake. That's how MY brain works.

Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Not really, but wouldn't rule it out.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I have occasionally had people report to me that my fics were stolen and nameswapped. AO3 has been pretty good about taking them down quickly though.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

Many times, yes. I hope the translations are good! I have no real way of knowing.

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I have not, and have no real plans to do so.

What’s your all time favourite ship?

Ugh, I ship so much. SO MUCH. Honestly, probably Peter Hale/Stiles Stilinski. It just works for me. Age gap, characters who are smart as fuck and morally gray, power dynamics, and werewolf powers. It has everything.

What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I have most of a novel-length fic written in the Harry Potter fandom. It's post-War and Snape comes to stay at Grimmauld Place while they're rebuilding Hogwarts. Ginny Weasley is the only person there at first, and they kind of circle each other warily at first and then come to a cautious detente, which turns into a bit of a friendship. There's something weird going on with the portraits in the house, though, and when Snape notices it, there's an action sequence that ends with him getting them the fuck out of Dodge and going on the run. I actually love this story, it's entirely drafted and 80% written, and I just had to work out a couple plot issues at the end. And then the HP fandom kind of blew up and the creator turned out to be one of the literal worst people in the world, and I just don't know if I can ever bring myself to finish it. We'll see.

What are your writing strengths?

Uh. I....don't know? People seem to like my fics for the most part, but I'm not sure I could nail down exactly why.

What are your writing weaknesses?

I repeat myself too much. I say the same things repeatedly, over and over again, reiterating on a theme. But joking aside, I swear I spend half of my time in editing removing stuff like this.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I'm fine with it, if it fits the characters and it works. I prefer it if there are either a lot of English cognates so you can kind of work out what they're saying, or if the author translates it in the author's note.

First fandom you wrote for?

Harry Potter. I found a shitload of Hermione/Snape fic, read as much of it as I could find, and then thought, you know, I think I could do at least as well as some of these? So I tried my hand at it and have never really quit writing fic since.

Favourite fic you’ve written?

I'm saying two. One is Crown of Neon Lights, because I love the characters and story so much. And the other is Bondmate, same reason. But really I love most of my fics. They are like my precious babies and I adore them all. tagging (pls feel free to ignore) @whimsicalmeerkat @jammerific

idk if this was asked before but since you have ran a fandom week before, how should one approach it?

Heya! Sorry for the late response. Definitely an ask I wanted to get round to. So from my experience running these things here's what I'd say:

For planning the week itself

When devising prompts I start off making a list of words I associate with the ship/fandom whatnot. You want the prompts to be fairly open. They're meant to be springboards to get ideas flowing. If they're a bit too rigid it'll feel restrictive and put people off. Inspiring creativity is what you want. Like I say, the SkyStar Week prompt devising normally starts with making a list of words I associate with the vibes of the pairing.

When devising prompts there's no real reason to have a 'free space'. I had those the first year but that ends up being more a dead space where people aren't sure what to put. Just give em an extra prompt and let them follow it or not if they don't want to.

Stating what the rules are for nsfw is good. If it's a SFW only event that's fine. It's just good to let people know beforehand. I think if you are gonna have NSFW just state clearly what the rules are, whether it's just making sure everything is tagged correctly or if that will be hosted somewhere else.

For organising and social media stuff

Defo make a separate tumblr or social media account for the event, and post all news about that there. I know that sounds obvious, but I did remember an event that had been cancelled but that wasn't announced on the event page itself, but on the main mods personal blog. I think maybe they just forgot or posted to the wrong account, but still: make sure all important info is on the main event page.

Even if your personal gets an ask about the event (which has happened a few times) make sure it gets reblogged to the event blog.

Try to post about the event early. Give people plenty of time to access the prompts. If you post up the prompts really late they're not gonna have time to work on them, and you just won't get as much engagement as you could have gotten. And post reminders leading up to the event as well. We all live busy lives, it can be easy to forget about an event if there was one post and then you never heard from that event again until the week it happens. For SkyStar Week we tend to try and post periodic reminders about the event so it stays fresh in people's heads.

Since it's all meant to be for fun I'd say just have a chill time. There's no reason to be super restrictive on what people can and can't do. I've seen people nervous about participating cos "What if they don't allow humanformers or au's" while I'm like "I don't care, I love anything so long as it's SkyStar". I don't know if there are any event weeks that are like "No au's or other stuff allowed" but I can't see a reason to restrict that. It just limits creativity and fun. And once again, none of this is serious and it should all be for having fun. Same for things like if people don't follow the prompt list. I don't care if you don't. They're meant to get ideas flowing but if you had an original idea for a piece and post it up during the week then why say that's not allowed? So long as people are participating that's all fine enough isn't it?

10 -Do you work on multiple wips or stick to one fic at a time?

Multiple ones, but I "limit" myself to max 3 fic at a time. My biggest challenge is finishing things, so I’ve been really pushing myself to balance some short pieces with only one long one. That being said, I have an idea document that I keep updated, so I don’t lose anything that I really like.

20 - Do you prefer writing AUs or canon fics?

Canon is easier for some reason? I think that’s because I like working within confines of a pre-existing world rather than having A TON of possibility. That being said, I am warming up to AUs and have been trying my hand at them.

30 - How much do you edit your fics?  Do you edit as you write or wait until you finish the first draft?

A ton. I try and get everything out at once. Then I read for plot…does it make sense (hopefully)? Then I edit for specific word choice. Then I go back and do this bit over and over until I get so sick of the chapter that I would rather clean my apartment. THEN I run everything through grammarly and pray it catches everything. Then I post… and then I find errors. : ) 

40 - What is your favorite world that you’ve created for a fic?

I don't have a lot out but BITW is my fav...which is just ACOTAR 2.0. SJM didn’t give us a lot on Montesere so I basically built an entire nation/economy/politics for several months so I’d have something to work with. It’s not perfect but I’m proud of it. 

50 - How would you describe your writing style?

I’m cheating here a bit. My writing instructor from when I took a class this year says that I like to write with visceral sensations err… like “feel it in your body” kind of things. I don’t know if my fanfics really embody that, but my original fiction definitely leans on sensations being a major component of my writing. I also am very plot driven.

60 - In [insert fic], what inspired the idea for the plot?

I’ll do a 2 for 1 on this one You’re going to laugh at this, BITW was inspired by The Cruel Prince, Natasha, Pierre, and the War of 1812 (aka War and Peace), St. George and the Dragon, and my desperate need for Eris to get laid by someone who will give him hell first. Heatwave is just inspired by Rockport, MA + My late cousin who had Elain’s job.

70 - Are you subscribed to any writers on AO3?

GreenZeus and LadyTess (both not on Tumblr????? idk). I need to use this feature more often. I didn’t start actually “USING” AO3 until recently so I’m still discovering how this site works haha. I am certain that in a month I will have about 30 writers on this list.

You didn't give me a question so I'll ask a random one I just thought of <3: What's the longest thing you've ever written?

Back from 2015-18 I co-wrote a fic with a close friend. It was this very CW-style (like riverdale) queer drama about slightly supernatural-ish teens living in a mansion in the woods. I still have all of it. I wish I could do something with it one day, but the timing isn't right. It's two hundred typed pages...single spaced.

on the topic of bottom surgery, cos i've thought about it a LOT lately.

i think i might start looking into it if i get decent bottom growth when i hopefully go on t

i know i want top surgery if i can, (privately in years and years time if i HAVE to, but preferably on the nhs..... i hope,) but despite crippling bottom dysphoria - to the point i don't let anyone touch me in the pelvic region, even doctors and nurses i fucking cringe so badly and hate it, i don't even let people SEE me fully naked cos of top and bottom dysphoria, but especially being without boxers is a no from me generally in front of ANYONE even intimate partners - i've never really considered bottom surgery until the past few months

but now i'm thinking on it i don't think i'd mind going through the recovery for it, to have something less.... uncomfortable for me personally than the equipment i have now.

tbh i'd only want a 'simple' metoidioplasty, so just the one where they 'release' your bottom growth from the surrounding tissue so it hangs lower and looks more like a dick, if i get decent bottom growth to make that happen then i will pay privately even to make it happen. i just hope one day i can work through my dysphoria somehow, be it changing myself or through therapy or a combo of both, to a point where i'm not scared of people touching me or wanting to be intimate with me in that way.

i have no issues with whatever anyone else has down there, fwiw. like. anything is fine by me. i don't care. i've slept with men with phallo, women with full vaginoplasty, cis people, intersex people, etc. etc. and while i'm settling a bit now cause of my feelings for someone in particular, i still hold my promiscuity in high regard cos it taught me so much about trans and cis bodies

but idk. it's so stigmatised, isn't it? people love to call bottom growth and all kinds of bottom surgery results 'gross' or 'weird' or whatever.

if i can somehow make myself a VERSION of me which looks 'right' in my minds eye... i'm gonna do it though. even if i have to fight like fucking hell to get there. even if i have to jump through hoops

and so long as me, and whoever i'm sleeping with/in love with, are happy with whatever i end up with down there? idc what some terminally online 20 year old on tumblr has to say about how icky fat and hairy transmen with small dicks are. lmao.

Summary: you're a broke college student majoring in linguistics, working part-time at Wendy's. What could go wrong when some idiot decides to order a pie and argue..?

Notes: This is my first ever written fic here on Tumblr, and yes it's gonna be Dean Winchester ^^.. Dean might also be a bit OOC, so I'm sorry for that, I tried my best ;-; I have a few wips on the way, so have fun with this short fic for now lolol <3 also note that I'm a bit rusty since I haven't been writing for a few months due to personal reasons ^^; Cross-posted to AO3.

It was 2 am. Dean, Cas and Sam were on their way to Bobby's place. Everybody was tired after a case and Dean was starting to crave pie.

"Sammy, mind checking if there's any diners open anywhere," he drove at a slower pace as he snapped his fingers near Sam's face. "Dean–" Sam swatted his brother's hand away, "no sane owner would have their diner open at this hour." He sat up on the passenger seat straight as he yawned.

Dean grumbled under his breath, rolling his eyes when his eyes landed on a billboard saying there was a Wendy's drive-thru in 18 miles.

"I guess we're going to a Wendy's," he shrugged, driving to the fast food restaurant.

You were stuck working the night shift because one of your co-workers called in sick and you were the only one who could come in without any complaints. I mean hey, they did promise they'd repay you with a free lunch. That made you and your two other colleagues working tonight. Thankfully, the night wasn't too hectic with only a few customers driving in. Customers are the occasional couple driving late at night or roadies. 

Then, one of your co-workers, Jim called for you, "Yeah?" "There's some guy in the drive-thru who wants to order a cherry pie..." 

A pie..? A fucking pie? You've gotta be kidding me, who in their right mind orders a pie at Wendy's?! I don't get paid enough for this-

You sighed, taking the headset reluctantly from Jim, and shooing him away as you put it on. You took a deep breath, trying to act as professional as possible, "Hello, sir, what would you like to order? My colleague here informed me just now that you wanted to order a pie..?" "Yeah," you heard a gruff, voice from the headset, making your knees go weak from how he sounded. 

"I ordered a cherry pie, three cheeseburger combos one of them with no pickles and- and a what, Cas?" "Two chocolate frosty's." 

You had the urge to throw a trash can at this man's face. Grumbling profanities under your breath, you rubbed your temples, tired and done with your job.

I'm gonna fucking quit at this point, bloody hell. I hate this job, I'd rather rot under a bridge-

"Sir, I- I don't think you understand," you exhaled through your nose slowly, "I can easily get you the cheeseburger combo and the frosty, but not the pie.. We don't sell pie here," you swallowed the lump forming in your throat, trying to keep your cool.

"What do you mean you don't sell pie?" The guy grumbled, clearly sounding annoyed. You clenched your jaw, begging if there was any god out there that could hear you and give you the patience needed for this asshat ordering something that isn't on the fucking menu.

"Yeah, we don't sell pie, so- uhh, that'll be-" "Are you sure you don't sell pie?" 

He cut you off, making you audibly groan into the mic, clearly your patience was wearing thin. Was this guy serious? 

"Sir," you started, teeth gritting as you spoke, "let me make myself clear... We. Do. NOT. Sell pie. If you want to get a fricking pie, go to a diner about 4 miles from here, wait until 10 am so they can open, and get your goddamn pie there! This is a Wendy's for Pete's sake, how many times do I have to repeat myself..." You huffed, breathing unsteadily from getting riled up and snapping at him. Jim and your other co-worker, Jane were looking over from the counter, their faces grimacing as they looked at each other, clearly knowing that you were officially pissed.

"Woah there, tiger, calm down, no need to get your panties in a twist, 'kay? I'll get those three combos and maybe your number on the side," he added smoothly, causing you to scoff and shake your head. You put down the order and told him to drive down the window.

"That'll be-" you blinked as you saw the man in the driver's seat looking back at you with a cocky smirk. He was hot. Like, super male model typa hot. You felt another lump in your throat as you tried your best to keep yourself calm and collected. Clearing your throat and giving him his order, your fingers slightly grazing each other, making your ears go pink, 

"Tha- That'll be 18.57, sir." You didn't dare look at him straight in the eye, causing him to smile a bit wider. Good lord, he was fine. Your little daydream got cut off by another voice coming from the backseat of the car,

"Dean, I ordered two Frosties, where are they?" The man complained, looking at the green-eyed man that you figured was Dean. "And I asked for a salad, not a burger-" "Both of you shut it!" 

Dean glared at the two passengers then looked back at you with a flirty smile, "So, this was the pretty little lady behind the speaker.. Cas what flavour Frosty do you want?" "Two large chocolate Frosty's, Dean," the man in the backseat stated, and you signalled Jim to get the Frosty's done. Once they were, you handed it to Dean. 

"So, uh.. About that number-" "32.34$"

........ cricket silence.

"Huh..?" Dean was caught off-guard, making the other guy in the passenger seat chuckle. "The payment," you stated bluntly, staring at Dean with a deadpan expression. 

"Oh- yeah, right.. Give me a sec, sweetheart- shit." He gave you a very slightly crumpled 50$ bill, making you sigh inside. When you open the cash register, he clicks his tongue, catching your attention for a brief second, "Keep the change, doll," he grinned, driving away.

You finally let out the breath you were holding, took the headset off and went to where Jim and Jane were. You pointed at Jim, giving him the nastiest 'Bitch you owe me.'  look, "You're closing this shift and the next one after this, understood? I'm so done.." You grumbled under your nose, shaking your head from the shittiest shift you've ever experienced. then you felt your phone vibrate from your back pocket, irking an eyebrow in confusion. 

You noticed Jane sneaking Jim away, causing you to become more suspicious as you opened your phone to be greeted by a text:

'Tell your buddy - Jim..? Thanks from me. And try not to be so pissy, beautiful, that frown I saw earlier doesn't fit your face ;). 

 - Dean Winchester.'

You scoffed at the message, yet smiled softly, kind of liking the outcome of your shift.

Is anyone else amazed that Hawks was only "undercover" with the Leauge for 6 months at the most.

Not only that, one and a half of those 6 months were spent just trying to gain enough trust to infiltrate.

I know it seems like much longer since Hawks made his Manga debut 2 years ago. But he had such a short amount of time on this mission. Hawks was introduced in the manga with his role being the "double agent". We literally have not seen Hawks outside of his "spy" role. Even when he is interacting with other characters outside of the Leauge, his "mission" is still happening in the background.

It seems Hawks made contact with Dabi right before the Hero Billboard chart, this is when he starts trying to infiltrate. His interaction with Dabi in the warehouse begins immediately after Endeavors fight with High-End:

During this time, Dabi is testing out a High-End Nomu for doctor Ujiko. Which means by the time Endeavor fights High-End, the My Villain Academia arc is already happening. Hawks is assumed to be one of the "members" Dabi is trying to recruit:

The Leauge has already made contact with doctor Ujiko, and the Doctor sends Dabi to test his High-End Nomu out on Endeavor (even though Dabi didn't know it would be Endeavor) while the rest of the Leauge battle Machia. At the time, Dabi still doesn't trust Hawks at all and he keeps the hero at arms length. While Dabi and Hawks are sharing ominous phone calls, the Leauge is hauling ass and it take's Shigiraki a month and a half to finally beat Machia. (The MLA is "defeated" too):

After a month and a half of phone calls (while the Leauge gets their asses handed to them by Machia in the background) Hawks is finally allowed into the Leauge when the battle of Dekia City is finally over. Dabi let's him in because Hawks "kills" Best Jeanist.

But there's a problem. By the time Hawks is let in, The Leagues numbers have drastically increased. They have an army at their side, multiple High-End nomu, and are now called the MLA:

Hawks blames himself, saying that he was "too late". That so many civilians would be alive now if he had been faster. He couldn't round up the Leauge when they were a small group, and now they have an army. A powerful one:

He's in too deep now. And you can see the stress on his face. I bet he never expected to be part of an army. He was simply tasked to round up the Leauge members while they were a small group, but the MLA was completely unexpected. Still, he decides to improvise and do the best he can with the shitty cards he's been dealt. It's not like he has another option at this point.

So he slips a coded message to Endeavor ASAP. Basically saying "yo, in four months shits about to go down. Ttyl I'll keep you posted lol". He can't tell the guy in person now, because to make things harder, he has camera's on his wings. (and even though he's being watched by camera's, he also gets followed by guards at the mansion):

After Hawks relays the massge, he stroles around the mansion with his bodyguard and heads towards the cafeteria. With a little eavesdropping (courtesy of his feathers) he also finds out that the Leauges plan is to "Destroy Everything" in four months:

After he relays the massage to Endeavor, he listens to the Leauges plans of destruction as his thoughts run a thousand M.P.H.

Because now "capture the Leauge" has turned into "Holy shit I now only have 4 months to take down a full fledged terrorist organization/army from the inside-out by myself while I'm being monitored 24/7 with absolutely no privacy & also a full time job as a hero + a public image to maintain. And I can only contact my fellow pro's about this mission through code because if the villains find out I'm a double agent I could be killed and Japan could be destroyed. Also some heros have even joined the MLA so who on my own side can I trust? Only a select specific few for now I guess."

If you thought things couldn't get worse your wrong.

Because around 2 months before the raid Hawks' heart (that wants to be free & has a genuine desire to help people) takes shit a bit too far when it makes him get attached to a certain powerful villain.

Hawks quckily finds out that Twice is easily the second most powerful villain in the Leauge after Shigiraki. He's an S ranked villain and he'll kick your ass with the power of friendship anyday. He's a great guy, but him and the Leauge are still planning on doing horrible things within the next 2 months. Twice is going along with it because he wants to stick by his friends, which y'know, is a cool motive. But considering that fact that the people Hawks is trying to protect ALSO have friends, and family's, this makes shit difficult and sends Hawks on some major guilt trips. (I would show all the panels of Hawks sadly smiling as Twice calls him a "good guy", but alas- Tumblr has informed me that I've reached my 10 image per post limit)

And tbh who wouldn't feel bad about suddenly getting attached to such a golden retriever of a man and then realizing you'll have to double-cross him at some point! I'm not surprised Hawks would feel this way, especially considering the fact that he never wanted to take on this mission in the first place.

Hawks is very much a people person, and he HATES lying even when he has no other option. This is a man who got "shivers up his spine" when he had to put on a serious face while handing Endeavor a book with coded messages inside. He literally felt icky and thought "this is low even for me" just because he had to use a deadly expression so that Endeavor would get the gist.

And when the Commission made their "proposal" about this mission, Hawks' first reaction was to call them out on their B.S. for asking him to put civilian lives at risk. He even admitted that he was feeling bad about sending Tokoyami away while talking to Deku, Shoto, and Bakugo. Hawks felt guilty about not being able to spend more time with his student, but considering that things with the MLA were starting to get riskier, and that Hawks literally handed Endeavor a book with a coded message inside about an uprising 2 seconds later, I can see why he wouldn't want to risk Tokoyami being around him. The fact that the camera's on Hawks' wings caught his interactions with Endeavor & the students also makes the creep‐factor worse. The MLA saw everything AND talked about it in a meeting later. Continuing to train with Tokoyami would put him at risk.

I love the complexity of Hawks' character, he's incredibly intelligent, logical, and intuitive. But at the same time throughout this entire mission his heart is constantly battling with his mind. Even when he knows he has to grit his teeth and do something shifty, his heart never fails to put up a fight with his logistics. Honestly it's been a pattern for a while that Hawks' sympathy always "Trips him up" in some way, so idk why I didn't see it coming around to bite him in the ass later.

(Tbh it's hard for me to see Hawks as a this super "Morally Gray" person that the fandom likes to paint him as because of a mission that he only spent 6 months on. I personally, kinda see Hawks as a "good person" who works for a "morally gray" agency. But that's a whole different meta)

Basically, Hawks getting attached to Twice wasn't a surprise. But considering how powerful Twice was, along with his role in the League's destructive plans (He was a lieutenant in one of the MLA's "Units") the discourse going on in Hawks' mind makes sense. By this point Hawks has already figured out all of the MLA's "Units" along with the three "bosses" that support the lieutenants of those "Units". It's noted that those "bosses" are extremely powerful and can match the strength of the heros as well. It took Hawks an entire month just to figure out all of the "Units" members. (I would show the panels explaining all of this but I'm at my photo limit)

All of these members were tasked to follow their lieutenants and bosses, and the plan was to attack all of Japans major cities at the same time. Once the cities were destroyed and chaos had set in, Redestro and feel good inc. Would distribute support items to the remaining citizens in the name of "self-defense". It would create a country full of discourse and destruction where Redestro and Feel good inc. Would rule from the shadows. But Shigiraki would be the main leader. He would become "king" and sit upon a "throne of rubble". (At least this was the MLA's plan, Shigiraki himself just kinda wants to destroy everything. But I suppose this would make things easier for him to do that.)

needless to say, the stakes have been upped excessively. But it took Hawks an entire month to gather this info.

This post is honestly just me marveling at what an M.V.P Hawks is

My guy literally only had 4 months to take down an entire terrorist organization for the inside-out. AND he was being monitored during that entire time. He figured out the MLA's intentions within the first month of being there. And it took him another full month to go into detail and figure out all the members, bosses, and lieutenants, for each of their "Units". Hawks even went as far as to immerse himself in the MLA's ideology, and he had in-depth discussions with the MLA's members. HELL HE EVEN FAKED HIS CO-WORKERS DEATH JUST TO GET IN.

AND HE PRETTY MUCH IMPROVISED ALL OF THIS SHIT!!! The original plan was to capture the Leauge when they were a small group! But by the time Hawks managed to infiltrate, The Leauge already had an army! They were a full-blown organization! And Hawks just kinda rolled with it??? He just kinda bullshitted his way through??

Like, "okay I'm now apart of an army I guess. The Leauge is now an entire organization and they're planning on destroying Japan in March. Let's see how this goes. I'll just have to make this work"???

just miraculous ladybug. tbh i never thought i would write fic until joining this fandom. i still don't know if i'll ever write for anything else!

yes, i try to respond to all of them! sometimes a bit late, i've definitely got some unanswered in my inbox because sometimes i have to choose between writing or answering comments, and i figure if someone likes my fic enough to comment they'd rather have the next chapter. but i always respond eventually because i really appreciate every comment and i want to show that appreciation, even if i'm not always great at taking compliments. seriously all of my commentors rock and people who take the time to write comments on every chapter are the backbone of fandom.

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

coin operated boy is my angstiest fic, full stop. it does have an unofficial crack sequel, but the fic itself ends on an angsty cliffhanger. i don't like sad endings so i want to write a more serious continuation one day but it's on indefinite hiatus until i have the emotional energy for that.

7. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

hm, probably our hands would not be taught to hold another's? that's a harder question but since that one has the fluffy epilogue i think it would be the happiest

yeah, someone i met on a discord server really disliked me to the point that after i'd blocked him on tumblr and left the server, he went after me on ao3.

i think that's the only real hate i've gotten though? some people did assume our hands would not be taught to hold another's was salt early on so i ended up changing the summary (i wrote the summary before i was made aware adrien losing the ring was a big salt trope so i went back to make it clear that wasn't the plan at all)

10. Do you write smut? If so what kind?

no, i get embarrassed writing kisses. my face gets all red every time. i'm just not strong enough to write smut yet

grammar? 😅 idk really. i write a lot for work and i wrote a lot during school so i feel pretty confident with basic writing mechanics and clarity, but fiction wise i'm not sure? characterization, probably?

17. What’s your writing weaknesses?

description is really hard for me, especially describing like objects and settings and stuff. i really wish i could add more poetry and beauty and richness to the world my characters are inhabiting. i always have to remind myself they aren't just chilling out in a blank void and that they should interact with physical objects.

18. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in fic?

i avoid it. i don't speak any other languages and it seems silly to run a sentence through google translate just so the reader can put it through again - i'd rather just say the character was speaking whatever language if i need. i might make an exception for words that don't have direct translations but it hasn't really come up yet.

19. What was the first fandom you wrote for?

still just this one

20. What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?

ohhhhh, saving the hardest for last. i'm probably the most proud of our hands would not be taught to hold another's, since i really didn't think i was capable of writing a long multichaptered story until i actually did it there. i reread it recently and i can see my growth as a writer from the first chapter to the final one too, which is neat.

I saw a post on tumblr where someone said now that Kripke gave J&D the rights, maybe they’re starting with a prequel just to end on a reboot in years time and honestly ? I wanna believe that so badly. As for the Jensen and J*red thing.

I can see Jensen not telling J*red even if they are still friends, because J*red is kinda good at accidentally telling Secrets. He could have told him right before he announced it so, so that J*red didn't have to find out from twitter. He was on the show for 15 years, he is bound to get asked about it. The public twitter meltdown was really unprofessional so. Like you have Jensen's number J*red. You could have sorted that out in private like a normal person, but instead you choose to act like a toddler throwing a tantrum.

Is it weird that I'm actually going to be kinda that for them if the actually had a falling out, even tho I don't like J*red all that much. They seemed to be really important to each other and while I thought before that the might have triefted apart a bit, I didn't think that the where actively fighting.

the thing is, the polite/normal thing for jensen to do was text him before announcing it on twitter. it's weird he didn't, and that makes me believe that maybe yeah they did have a falling out. especially with the way j*red responded to it on twitter. if he had no other reason to be this upset (no prior beef or falling out) you'd think that he wouldn't be responding like this. on the other hand, the man is a mysterie to me so who the hell knows. i'm not gonna mourn about it if they did/do grow apart because j*red is just.... awful imo.

hey Tele, I've read someone says in Tumblr that Killua in CAA actually never cared about Gon's mental state, and that Killua never tried to save Gon in CAA until it's too late (Gon become Gon-san), and that Gon was never Killua no. 1? I actually kinda triggered but I think they have a point? I agree when they say Killua is aware of all situations including Kite's death, but I don't think that he never tried to save Gon tho and I think he didn't tell Gon because of his love for Gon? idk, wdyt about it?

Mhhhh I think it’s incorrect to say that Killua never cared about Gon’s mental state... There are multiple scenes that prove that Killua always had Gon’s well-being in his mind, and the entirety of the arc is Killua trying to help Gon in fighting Pitou. Killua is 13, an abuse survivor with an unhealthy co-dependency to his best friend who just sadly lost his mentor. Killua has virtually no experience in relationships and doesn’t know how to help his dearest friend. He also didn’t want to lose him, so the best solution to him was to help Gon assuage his need for revenge. During CAA, Killua only had Gon’s goal in mind, of course, it wasn’t what Gon needed, it wasn’t healthy and it wasn’t the right path to follow, but they both didn’t know better. It was both their first time dealing with the loss of a loved one... It’s rough to deal with it.

Killua did care about Gon’s mental state, he really did. And you’re absolutely right, Killua never told anything to Gon because he was scared he’d lose him. From the second Gon told him about Kite being alive, Killua refused to tell him the truth because he thought it would break Gon. He had Gon’s best interest at heart. Not just his. He didn’t tell him just because he was scared he’d lose him. He didn’t tell him what he thought because he didn’t want to hurt him. It was a mix of both of these feelings.

He just did what he thought was best for Gon. He honestly, truly had Gon’s best interest at heart. He couldn’t have known, I’m really emphasizing this but he’s a 13yo with trauma and a lack of self worth and no previous experience with friendship, how could he possibly have ever known that he wasn’t doing the right thing. How can he be chastised by the fandom for his actions in CAA when he tried his hardest to do what was best for Gon. I’m baffled by people saying that Killua never tried to help Gon.

Also I don’t really like this take that Killua had to save Gon, and that it’s his fault for letting him spiral.... Hell yeah, I agree, Gon was suffering greatly. But the events of CAA are on both of their shoulders, not just Killua’s for “not saving Gon”, not just Gon’s for “losing it”. They both fueled each other. 

So, yeah. Killua accidentally fueled Gon’s self-destructive behavior. But he was always, always trying his best. He didn’t just let Gon spiral because he didn’t care for Gon, he accidentally let Gon break down because he thought that what Gon needed was revenge. He thought that getting back at Pitou was what Gon needed. And with that in mind, in CAA, he put himself through so many dangerous situations just for this purpose : to help Gon deal with his grief in what he thought would be the best way. 

Killua did care about Gon’s mental state, it’s all he cared about. You can see it in the entire arc. Like him literally dying and thinking about how he wished he was more useful to Gon. Or even that one scene where he calms Gon after he almost blasted Morel. Or the multiple panels of Killua looking absolutely heartbroken when confronted with the reality of Gon’s grief. 

Killua was trying his hardest to help Gon, he just thought letting him get revenge was what would work best to help his mental state.

Damn I got carried away and I’m not even sure I provided actual evidence but yeah HAHA i just had to yell for a bit. I hate Killua slander. I hate Gon slander. People need to realize these are traumatized 13 yos with way too much on their shoulders. Let them make mistakes, please.

story process challenge

i was tagged  by @xldkx​​ to do this challenge, created by @herpixels​​​ , like a month? a month and a half? ago and it’s been sitting half finished in my drafts for nearly as long. *sigh* (regardless, i love stuff like this so even if it takes me forever to get to it, i appreciate the tags! 💕). 

i decided to answer all the qs because it took me damn long enough to get to this, so i might as well put some extra elbow grease into it (plus it was fun!). btw it’s all going under a cut b/c it is long. i apologize in advance.

1. My Writing Process - used to be a hot damn mess. literally word docs strewn throughout my pc. However, I recently switched to using Onenote (it’s what i use to organize my d&d campaign notes) and hoo-boy is it so much nicer. this is how it’s set up and it’s honestly night and day. i can have a page with outlines, a page to organize & order screenshots, and a separate page for drafting text, and i can easily toggle though them without having to switch windows? a big thumbs up from me.

When it comes to actual writing- I used to write my drafts in novel format, which i enjoyed but it made “converting” them into tumblr posts time consuming and frustrating. I ended up scrapping most of the text in the process, retaining pretty much only the dialogue. 

Anyway, nowadays I write in more of a screenplay format: dialogue only + key scene information with the occasional note to self. 

I do keep a master “arcs” page with key events and each individual character’s arc from beginning to end and secondary “outline” pages with slightly more detailed outline for each leg of the project. No screencaps b/c spoilers galore! 

My typical work flow process for a scene goes: (1) brainstorm scene ideas, (2) take screenshots, (3) organize screenshots into a rough storyboard, (4) add 1st draft of text, (5) edit photos, (6) edit text, (7) upload to "drafts” here on tumblr, (8) let sit for a bit (9) take a final look at things/proofread and edit as needed. It may sound counterintuitive, but i find it much easier to write dialogue for a set of images rather than attempt to take images based on prewritten text. I feel more comfortable editing and tweaking tone and content in the text this way. Otherwise, I get frustrated when I “can’t” shoot a scene exactly as it appeared in my head.

2. How I build my scenes - A lot of what i do is rooted in gameplay, therefore my sets are usually (a) play-tested and (b) not super pretty. I’ve certainly improved at decorating & building over the years but more often than not I download lots off tumblr and the gallery because I don’t have the patience, aptitude, or time to build all of my own sets. That being said, I frequently gut builds only to build a number of completely unrelated mini sets inside to reduce the number of times i have to replace lots. I also keep a list of “important locations” and where certain characters live / will move to, to help keep this all straight as there aren’t nearly enough lots per neighborhood or even per world in this damn game...

my least favorite part of scene building is actually decorating. lol. Don’t get me wrong, I love clutter. I honestly do. but fuck me if i expect myself to spend hours meticulously decorating a set, spend another 3 hours toggling back and forth b/w BB & live modes adjusting things to get rid of the damn routing errors. (yeah, yeah, i know i could ignore them, they’re not important, especially in those scenarios where i’m using a set for screenshots and nothing else, but idk. it really grinds my gears.) and then have to replace the lot like a week later because there aren’t enough lots in the game. *sigh*

3. CC/Pose Making - i do not consider myself to be a cc creator nor a pose maker but i do dabble occasionally. And to be completely honest i’d much rather spend my time doing other stuff, so it’s not high on my list of priorities atm. plus there are so many talented cc creators in this community; i can usually get by with what’s already out there.

4. Getting in the zone - Honestly, I do a lot of brainstorming for plot & dialogue in the shower. I don’t have any particular playlists to get me “in the writing mood” but I do enjoy listening to music as I work. Either instrumental stuff or simply artists/songs I like. If something just so happens to “fit” a scene I’m working on, one i’ve got planned, or even just gives me vibes for a certain character or group, I add a quick note to the top of said scene’s draft. Most of the time I stick it in the recesses of my brain and add a quick link when I finally get to the point of posting the draft to tumblr. For whatever reason, when I have one of those “oh this song is perfect for X” moments it’s essentially ingrained in my mind for the rest of eternity. 

5. The screenshot folder - this will most likely give some of you out there major anxiety. but i swear it’s an organized chaos. :)

So with the raws from a single random scene selected, you can see i take roughly 10 screenshots per image posted. not terrible i guess but i’m working on it. Typically I take screenshots and once I’m done editing a scene I’ll move them from the general folder to a more specific project folder.

6. Captions - I’ll answer this in three parts:

for my townie story. not really. I prefer using the text box. I tend to write (& re-write) the dialogue for each one of these scenes several times over as I add more “scenes” into my drafts. It would be incredibly inefficient, time consuming, and would waste a lot more space on my pc to have to save .psds of each image just so i could edit dialogue when I decide: “oh hey maybe so and so needs to bring up X in this scene” and then change my mind an hour later.

for niko, noor, & co. I’m a text on image type gal here. don’t really know why, but it gives the project a different energy. ironically it makes it feel more laid-back to me. which i guess makes sense, it’s a much more light-hearted “story” than my townie project. which is, imo, very soapy haha.

for legacy stuff. all text goes below the images in the text box. reasoning: it’s gameplay, I don’t brainstorm, outline, or pre-write for this. I play the game, take screenshots, plug ‘em into my drafts and write some commentary / dialogue to go along with it.

7. Editing - i am a creature of habit and have not majorly changed my editing process in probably a year and a half (when I began using reshade and had to adjust my color correcting psd). it’s a super basic system:

drag & drop my “color correction” psd.

run actions in ps. (i made my own “all-in-one” actions to really streamline the process; i have different “actions sets” for my premades’ story and for other things that get posted to tumblr. even if no one else notices it, i like the little details that keep my projects separate and “identifiable”. 

voila. all set to upload.

sometimes i crop images, add “text effects”, or do more in depth editing (i.e. editing a phone screen or adding rain etc.) but overall i try and keep it simple for myself. 

8. Throwback - i posted an image of one of the first (but never posted) scenes I’d written for my townie project up above. but as for how would i redo a scene i’d already posted. well i’m currently re-doing my townie story so i guess i’ll just say you’ll see how it’s redone when i get to part 1! 😉

Mosquitoes find you particularly delicious. The rainy season where I live is essentially equivalent to mosquito season, so there is definitely a certain period in a year where they are more than usual; and because I like having just my windows open when I sleep (I find the aircon too cold most of the time), the mosquitoes find their way to my room and so there’d be days I’d wake up filled with new bites. You like to draw. I was never any good at drawing, so I hate every bit of it.
