Please post your videos 😭😭😭😭😭
Hi 👋🏻
Well, thank you for your message, but this would mean:
1. exposing myself through my senseless screaming and crying in the background of 98% of the footage I took yesterday
2. exposing you all to grainy and shaky videos where you can practically feel my sweaty hands holding on to my phone for dear life
But ok, here's one who is at least somewhat decent: Paulchard Polonaise 👯♂️
#i can look for some more stuff but hm. it's mostly just mindless zoom ins on Richard#because ya gal is desperate you feel me#rammstein#ask#Gelsenkirchen 5

eras tour city guide: Gelsenkirchen
(Hamburg | Munich)
are you're traveling to see the eras tour in Gelsenkirchen and are looking for things to do in the city or just need advice for good food/drinks spots? Or are you looking for some insider information about the venue? here are some ideas for you (I will continuously update this post!):
GENERAL ADVICE
credit: @youlooklikeasixtiesqueen (thank you!!)
❗if you're taking public transport i recommend using the app "vrr bus&bahn". it has a green logo with vrr in it as the thumbnail. you can use it to look up public transport lines and if they're on time, and you can buy tickets on your phone (i think paypal and credit card are accepted as payments, not sure about google pay etc) i think it should be in english if your phone is set to english, but i can't 100% guarantee it. i just remember that a friend has her phone set to english and i believe the app is in english for her. you will need to make an account to buy tickets.
❗gelsenkirchen has the highest percentage of people living in poverty in germany. if you're not from around here and you're imagining a cute german town that looks like it's from a picture book, then that is not gelsenkirchen. it's a large town in the industrial part of germany. crime is not uncommon, especially downtown. keep an eye on your belongings, if you wear a bag make sure it closes completely, and please walk in groups of at least three people when it gets dark. basically just make smart choices and use common sense to stay safe.
❗ the median temperature for july is around 25°C
THINGS TO DO:
credit: @youlooklikeasixtiesqueen
❗important: taylor is playing her shows while the kids are out of school for the summer, so anything touristy that is family friendly will probably be full
❗there is a theme park nearby called "movie park germany" which is hella overpriced. there's not a lot of good rides for adults. the lines are also very very long in the summer. i would not recommend going.
⭐ the area around the veltins arena itself (arena-park):
- mini golf: 3.50€ for adults and 2.50€ for kids - schalke museum: museum about the football club that the veltins-arena is home to, 5€ for adults over 21, 6-21yo it's 3€, under 6yo it's free - apollo cinema: no movies in english but if you speak japanese or turkish you might be in luck if you want to catch a movie - food: several places to buy food including a mcdonalds - there is also a small castle called schloss berge nearby
⭐ zoom erlebniswelt:
- amazing large zoo with three areas (africa, asia, alaska) - highlights: igloo ride, petting zoo, viewing platform for the giraffes, lemur island (lemurs move around freely amongst visitors), canopy walk (by the orangutan outdoor area) - definitely plan to be there for at least half a day, my tip is to go when it opens and go to the "alaska" area first because they have this little ride that's an igloo that shakes you around a bit and it's so much fun, but there can be quite long lines in the summer (i think mostly because it has aircon), it's called "alaska ice adventure" and is opposite the polar bears - they have a little boat that you can go on to get closer to the baboons and flamingos but imho it isn't worth the wait - another tip: bring your own food and plenty of water. it's very expensive at the zoo. like, worse than airport prices. - you can buy artwork made by animals for very good prices at the gift store. i love the penguin art made by their little feet waddling over the canvas. - sadly not a great place for people who need walking aids or wheelchairs. they do say they're somewhat accessible but they aren't (it's better than ten years ago but still not great) - there's plenty of toilets and places to sit, and the toilets have always been clean when i went - prices: for adults it's 21,50€, kids up to 12 pay 14€, and it's free for kids under 4. if someone wants to bring a dog it's 6€. prices are reduced by a lot after 4pm (adults 10€, kids 8,50€), but you won't have a lot of time in the zoo, only about two hours. they also have lower prices for students if you have proof that you go to school or college. it is recommended to buy your tickets online and i agree with that. there's very long lines in the summer. - getting there: if you go by car, parking is 6€ for a day. the address for a gps is bleckstraße 64, 45889 gelsenkirchen. HOWEVER I do recommend taking the tramline 301 from the main station, the stop is just called "zoom erlebniswelt", it's a very short walk. - website: https://www.zoom-erlebniswelt.de/ (only in german) - btw they had baby pigs at the petting zoo not too long ago - @notjustillusion (thank you!!) also recommends ZOOM Erlebniswelt!
⭐erlebnismuseum schloss horst
- i haven't been but i've heard it's cool - interactive museum in a castle!! - exhibits on how people lived in the mid-16th century - free and accessible! - playground outside for the kiddos - in the afternoon on mon, tue, thu, and fri you can use an old printing press - open every day except saturdays from 3pm to 6pm, and sundays from 11am to 6pm - getting there: the address is turfstraße 21, 45899 gelsenkirchen. from the main station you can take bus 383, or tramline 301. the stop is "schloß horst" or "schloss horst"
credit: @notjustillusion (thank you!!)
Zeche Zollverein in Essen: a Zeche that was shut down, great place for walks and/or tours informing you about mining in the Ruhrgebiet in general!
credit: @feminst4life (thank you Nadine!!)
Nordsternpark: nice park where you can go climbing and there's also a museum!
Rungenberg-Halde: a nice photo spot!
FOOD & DRINKS:
credit: @feminst4life
Noah & Zoe's Place: all kinds of food (from breakfast do dinner to drinks), only a 15 minute ride with the tram away from the venue!
GENERAL ADVICE ABOUT THE VENUE:
credit: once again @youlooklikeasixtiesqueen (I feel the need to thank you again because you helped me so much with this post!!)
veltins arena, also called "arena auf schalke", max capacity around 60k
it has different entraces, your ticket should say which one you need to use
cashless venue - you can pay by credit or debit card, or using google pay, apple pay, or samsung pay. you can also trade cash at the venue for a "knappenkarte", which is basically a card you can pay with when you buy something in the venue. they have several different "payment counters" where you can exchange your money throughout the stadium. i'm not sure if these restrictions apply to merch, because it hasn't been announced if she will have her merch trucks or sell it inside the stadium.
you can buy food at the venue, they have vegetarian and vegan options too, but i don't know what anything costs. they have an overview where you can see what food counter has what on their website. they have pretzels and sweets at every food counter.
the website says you can bring in something to drink that is up to 500ml in a "tetra-pak", aka a juice box or a milk carton. i'm not sure about foldable silicone water bottles. plastic bottles are not allowed.
no bags larger than an a4 sheet of paper. i recommend a clear bag as well. they don't seem to have a clear back policy, but it'll make security lines move faster (i'm nearly certain there will be bag checks, i've never been to a concert in this general area that didn't have them, no matter how big or small). i got a clear fanny pack from amazon that i can also wear over one shoulder and around my torso because i think it'll make dancing easier than a crossbody.
i know someone once brought a dog to the rep tour and idk if it was a service dog but i think it's worth mentioning that animals are not allowed.
cameras for commercial use are not allowed (usually that means don't take a dslr)
powerbanks are only allowed if they are smaller than 10x7x3 cm. charge your phone beforehand and maybe put it in energy saving until you want to take pictures
you are not allowed to climb on seats
if you pee anywhere other than the toilets, smoke outside the designated area, or put a sticker somewhere, it's a 25€ fine
the roof will be closed unless it's too hot
they don't have lockers so only take what you need

OLD RUINS • Fascinating tragedy
OLD RUINS can be rightly classified as BLACK METAL, whereby the resourceful German formation has created its own, very individual style with many influences from the areas of Heavy, Doom and Melodic Metal and is thus a very appreciated term to a large part of the underground scene already since their first demos on YouTube.
OLD RUINS also made first plans for their stage debut, but the Lord Of Destruction had other plans and brought the world a pandemic. However, OLD RUINS were not discouraged by this and began in August 2020 with the recordings of the completely convincing 6-track debut EP „Old Ruins“, which physically and digitally passed the gates of hell on November 06, 2020 and brought darkness from the heart of the Ruhr area over Tristram.
On September 15, 2023, OLD RUINS will release their first long-player entitled „Always Heading East“ on Doc Gator, with which the record company proves exquisite taste.
OLD RUINS was founded in 2019 and was initially supposed to be a pure studio project of drummer Alexander Czernik and singer/lead guitarist Christian Krajewski. But the thus only really hungry players quickly developed a damn dark, very atmospheric sound, which is still not easy to categorize and which remains not least because of this permanently as fascinating as exciting and wear-free. Inspired by their ingenious concept, they completed the line-up with Oliver Krajewski on bass and Ersin Kara on guitar. About their debut album „Always Heading East“ the conspiratorial gloomy souls say:
“The lyrics lyrically refer to the video game classic ‚Diablo‘ from Blizzard. The dark atmosphere of the game has always fascinated us immensely. Whether the tragic story without any happy ending, or the neglected (sound)worlds on ‚Always Heading East‘ were the main inspiration is hard to say today“, but „when you close your eyes and put the record on, you really dive into the mystical story of the dark wanderer“, Christian Krajewski raves fervently, adding: „If you’re not versed in the history of the video game, you can still immerse yourself in the dark musical world of the album and enjoy the soothingly atmospheric Black Metal sound. „
Where Iron Maiden have to deal with only one beast, the brave warriors of OLD RUINS are exposed to numerous spawns of hell. Face to face they bravely take on MEPHISTO the Lord Of Hate, LILITH – Daughter Of Mephisto and Queen Of The Succubi, TATHAMET The Seven-headed Dragon and BAAL The Lord Of Destruction.
Follow these exceptionally talented German top artists on their new adventures in „Always Heading East“ and dive into a dark, atmospheric sound experience of a very special kind – inspired by the legendary world of Diablo! MEDIA FEEDBACK:
10 / 10 ➤ „… explosive mixture … epic … melancholic … great melodies … predominantly midtempo … the vocals put the crown on the whole thing …“ (Bleeding4Metal)
9,5 / 10 ➤ „OLD RUINS deliver a tour de force on their full-length debut, combining the raw frenzy of Black Metal with exquisite melodies and riffs from Heavy and Epic Metal. This album is by no means just a homage to a cult game, but skillfully forged black stainless steel!“ (Soundmagnet)
9 / 10 ➤ „… a dark, atmospheric album, coupled with influences from Death Metal and doom, as well as from classic Heavy Metal … anyone who likes dark and atmospheric Black Metal should definitely risk an ear here …“ (Moshpit Passion)
8,7 / 10 ➤ „… an album rich in detail, full of subtleties … multi-layered in its orientation, but still at home in melodic Black Metal. A promising newcomer, of whom you certainly haven’t heard the last … my insider tip for this month. Strong.“ (Zephyr’s Odem)
8,5 / 10 ➤ „… a heavyweight … jewel …“ (Saitenkult)
8,5 / 10 ➤ „… Krajewski’s harsh vocals are typical for the genre, but his fine guitar leads and harmonies are worthy of any Epic Metal combo and have nothing to do with some blind bludgeoning from the Black Metal mud corner. By the way, this also applies to the production …“ (Obliveon)
8,5 / 10 ➤ „This is how Melodic Black Metal must be. Here, a black dripping atmosphere is conjured out of the hat … falling for the melancholy of the black vocals … strong riffing, which could almost be classified as heavy metal … this Black’n’Heavy mixture is a great mood, doesn’t let boredom arise and immediately runs into the auditory canals to burn itself there …“ (Hellfire)
8 / 10 ➤ „… very great sounding atmospheric and melodic mixture of Black, Death, Doom and Heavy Metal …“ (A Different Shade Of Black Metal)
8 / 10 ➤ „Rounded off by an oldschool but nevertheless tidy and powerful production that should satisfy purists as well as friends of modern Metal productions. Let’s hope that the Ruhr area formation will follow this promising starting signal with many more releases, because here we could have a very exciting new entry in the black metal lexicon. And in such a hopelessly overrun genre, this fact alone is a small accolade!“ (Powermetal DE)
8 / 10 ➤ „… epic sound that lies somewhere between late-80s Bathory, mid-range Immortal, early In Flames and Dissection … while not missing out on great melodies and clear references to classic Heavy Metal … melancholy and epicness are the two cornerstones …“ (Metal DE)
8 / 10 ➤ „… works excellently over the entire playing time … varied, full of strong melodic arcs … with numerous, successful epic moments … the so-called Gothenburg sound as well as Doom and Death Metal are also cleverly integrated … appealing level … the production is quite powerful and relatively modern, more like a Power Metal record … all kinds of subtleties make this album a feast for the ears …“ (Neckbreaker)
12 / 15 ➤ „… should convince not only the quality-conscious Black- but also the inclined Epic-Metaller …“ (Legacy Magazin)
7,5 / 10 ➤ „… score with a proper Heavy Metal attitude … spirit meets melancholy and finds a nice balance … the songs are varied, but always have their own style and sound homogeneous … everything sounds like from one cast … interesting and detailed, without overwhelming … comparisons to Alcest, but also newer Tribulation spontaneously come to mind …“ (Crossfire Webzine)
3,7 / 5 ➤ „… sounds like dark big battles … besides genre-typical jangling and tremolo riffs there is also a good portion of Power, Thrash and Death Metal … partly almost traditional metal underpinnings. That makes mood. The sound is also not cold and clanking, but quite dense and fat … a plus of atmosphere even reminds something of the Irish Primordial … quite surprising …“ (Handwritten Mag)
7 / 10 ➤ „It almost feels like there is a hidden meaning underneath the surface of Christian Krajewski’s vocals with a fresh emotive quality rising to the surface from the black depths, something which works very well … despite being shrouded in a cloak of darker atmospheres there is a real sense of epic majesty …“ (Metal Noise)
7 / 10 ➤ „… a heavy reliance on melody … not afraid to measure themselves with less explosive but still rocky dynamics … great passion of the musicians involved …“ (Heavy Metal Webzine IT)
➤ „OLD RUINS do a lot of things right on their debut ‚Always Heading East‘, above all they know how to create an atmosphere that sweeps the listener along and where it doesn’t matter if you know the source of inspiration or set off ignorantly down the dark paths to Tristram. Black/heavy/doom metal that isn’t hard to digest and is fun to listen to.“ (Breakout)
➤ „… they master a broader spectrum of Metal music … sounds sharp and does not have the atmosphere that the representatives of the genre usually aim for … compositionally it is also quite edgy, but this is due to the organisational talent that seems to generally characterise these creators … the melodic moments are pronounced … carry something distinctive …“ (Flight Of Pegasus)
➤ „In many ways, the album hits those emotions that grab you, consume you and at the same time are delivered so (almost) elegantly that you just want more all the time … there are elements of several branches of Metal, but imagine some of the early In Flames, a little Children Of Bodom, a little Arch Enemy and then add a little Tribulation and mix it well together, and you have the sound of OLD RUINS – presented here on a really good album that will surely appeal to many.“ (Rancor Metalzine)
➤ „A crushing Heavy/Post Black Metal album. It’s heavy. It hits hard. At the same time, it’s also beautiful and soaring high with its elegant moments that can touch your very soul. A moving record while being brutal with a high-dynamic sound.“ (Noisewriter)
➤ „Dissection/(early) In Flames/Dark Tranquillity meets Epic Heavy Metal in all its powerful, enthralling, captivating glory. High Heavens, Burning Hells!“ (KMäNriffs)
➤ „… much to love about this … heavy, but often not blistering, with headbanging beats and hypnotic riffs … the subtle Black Metal influence is there, without OLD RUINS having to rely on it much, creating a unique sound … great …“ (Wanna Hear a Great Song Today?)
➤ „… clear recommendation … melodic guitar harmonies … OLD RUINS are clever songwriters and change tempo and mood in pretty much all tracks again and again, so that no boredom arises … really strong album, somewhere between Black and Heavy Metal, whereby the latter clearly predominates … is really fun … I had not expected otherwise after the great EP …“ (Vampster)
➤ „… very atmospheric … influences from Melodic Metal clearly recognisable … slight doom influences that give the songs more depth and balance, making them even more accessible than they already are … perfectly staged and also produced … professionals at work …“ (Metalglory)
➤ „… imagine some early In Flames, some Children Of Bodom, some Arch Enemy and then add a little Tribulation and mix it all together well, presented on a really good album that I’m sure many will enjoy.“ (Metaltone DK) etc.

I went to the Zoom in Gelsenkirchen yesterday and took a few Snapshots with my mobile.
The Zoo focuses less on showing many animals, instead of a few selected in different habitat zones.
Animals are not always as visible as in other Zoos, but going around and spotting them is fun.
They also have interesting animal communities in the bigger enclosures. They have some more common Zebra + Antilope Savanah themes, but also fun things like housing Orang-Utans and Otters together.
Latter ones were already in sleepy mode when we came to visit them, so no pictures, but it's pretty nice to see them together in the enclosure.
Interactions happen but is not that common.
If you want to visit a Zoo in Western Germany, Zoom Gelsenkirchen and ZOO Wuppertal are always worth a visit.

Gelsenkirchen: Zoom
-english-
The city of Gelsenkirchen already had zoological garden 130 years ago. In 1889 Karl Cofflet decided to turn his property in Gelsenkirchen into an animal park.
He opened a tavern in 1889 and used the proceeds to gradually introduce the visitors to exotic animals as well as mongooses, macaque monkeys or some snakes.
70 years ago, the Ruhr Zoo opened then in the green area of Bismarckhain, the green area south of the Rhein-Herne-Channel, which wrote local zoo history.
Around 20 million guests visited the Ruhr Zoo in the first 40 years and admired many innovations: in 1952, the Great Ape House was opened, and the first orangutans moved in.
The animals vegetated in much too small and not very natural designed cages to themselves. Concrete and steel were the most used building materials. The wild cats paced back and forth in their cages, always facing the gaze of the visitors.
The elephants also only had a minimalist area and often stood in the same place for a long time, shifting their weight from one leg to the other and swinging their heads and their trunk from one side to the other.
Over the years, the Ruhr Zoo became less and less contemporary and less attractive. With the absence of visitors but also the problems were getting bigger. In 1987, the Zoo Foundation Association was founded.
The former Ruhr Zoo was completely renovated in the past decade (more or less razed to the ground) and renamed "Zoom Erlebniswelt" (Zoom adventure world).
Today, the Zoom Erlebniswelt offers more than 800 animals and 23 species of animals over an area of more than 30 hectares. The zoom world is divided into three thematic areas: Alaska, Africa and Asia.
At the entrance arised the "Grimberger Hof" with beer garden, petting zoo, climbing playground and rare German livestock such as Danish Protest Pig or the Hinterwald Cattle.
Alaska gives you an insight into the different vegetation zones of North America: the 1.3 kilometer circular trail leads us from the coastal rainforests over the tundra and the rocky mountain landscape to the polar region.
At least as exciting is the abandoned mine directly opposite the bear enclosure. Once upon a time, the gold diggers must have dug for their luck here.
The landscapes and enclosures are perfectly designed to the theme and come up with many small details. We walk like adventurers between rocks and rivers. Waterfalls with adventurous suspension bridges doing a spectacular scenario for the bears and for us to watch.
Special features here include the underwater glass tunnel in the basin of the California Sea Lions and the 3,000 m² bear complex that shows Polar, Kamchatka and Kodiak bears.
The safari through Africa takes us, next to the lions first, over a total distance of 1.8 kilometers. However, they have made themselves quite comfortable and doze well camouflaged in their enclosure.
Africa shows a village with domestic breeds, savanna scenery and the rainforest. A boat trip leads around the baboon rocks and along the different landscape enclosures.
The vast savanna with zebras, various gazelles and antelopes seemed endless. This impression is supported by the fact that it pulls along a slight slope, so that the otherworldly boundary isn´t visible to fast.
There is also an island where you walk through the enclosure of a group of lemurs, completely fenced off. If you do not like it, you can alternatively choose the path around the enclosure.
Asia is the youngest area with jungles, orangutans and many small Asian animals. A 1,300-meter-long promenade, sometimes even 5 meters in the height, meanders through the jungle. In addition, there is an indoor playground and a food court, which also served evening hours.
The gastronomy doesn´t stands out despite thematic naming, for example Africa Lodge or Alaska Diner, from the usual average offer.
Prices / Day ticket summer: Adults € 21.50 Children (4 to 12 years) 14,00 € Pupils and students with valid ID 16,00 € Dogs 6,00 € Prices / day ticket winter: Adults € 15.50 Children (4 to 12 years) 10,50 € Students and students with valid ID 12.50 € Dogs 5.00 € For the parking lot 6 Euro are cheekily charged as a daily rate!

Firstly, I want to thank you for basically being the information center for the Eras Tour Germany! Secondly, and this is only slightly related to the tour really, but if any of your followers/people who come here for info are planning on going to the show in Gelsenkirchen and are maybe from a bit further away and planning on staying for a couple of days, I highly recommend going to the zoo in Gelsenkirchen. It's called Zoom Erlebniswelt and I go there about once a year. It's a very fun zoo with very clearly structured paths. (Though a lot of is sadly still isn't super accessible for wheelchair users!) Here's a couple of pictures I took in June 2022:
Maybe this is a bit weird but I love this zoo and I'm sure some people are wondering what to do when they're in town, so I just wanted to share this!
no problem <3 and thank you for sharing!! <3
