Meet The New Magical Boys in "Cute High Earth Defense Club HAPPY KISS!" PV

The official website for Cute High Earth Defense Club HAPPY KISS!, the upcoming third TV anime series from the magical boy-featured Cute High Earth Defense Club franchise, has posted a new key visual featuring the five main boys and a 90-second PV introducing their character voices with the OP song "Zettai Saikou HAPPY KISS" by the cast.

  The franchise has two TV series: Cute High Earth Defense Club Love! (2015) and Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! LOVE! (2016), along with the follow-up OVA Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! (2017). The new series HAPPY KISS centers on the new generation five members of the Earth Defense Club at Binan High School, who are involved in a quarrel over a matter of succession in the magical kingdom called "Honyalaland."

  The previous three's director Shinji Takamatsu (Gintama, Nanbaka) is set return, the second TV anime

and the OVA's Studio Comet works on anime production. It is set to premiere on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka

and AT-X in April 2018. Then the CD singles of the OP song and the ED song "Warera Kedakaki Edelstein" 

by the Conquest Club ES members will be released on April 18.

I was going to make a post on this myself, but this statement sums it up perfectly.

To put it in perspective:

-Boueibu Love's song with the highest "Love" count is "Futten Toppa LOVE IS POWER", with 73 counts of the aforementioned L word.

-When bringing in HK, "Zettai Saikou ☆HAPPY KISS☆" doesn't do much with only 36 counts (said and fully spelled) of the word "Happy", but when you look at "HAPPY READY?????"...

121 times. That is all I'm going to say...

The synopsis and the advance images for Happy Kiss episode 3, HAPPY Ice Cream, are under the cut, so needless to say, there’s spoilers ahead...

防衛部の部長を務める和倉七緒と、生徒会の役員である宇奈月大樹は魔法騎士としては敵対関係にありながらも以前と変わらぬゆる～っとした態度で接し続けていた。ある日、生徒会のメンバーはアイスクリーム屋でバイトに励む眉難高校の生徒を怪人へと変えるが、そのせいでお���が回らなくなってしまい困った店主に押し切られるまま七緒と大樹が臨時の店員として働くことに。それが思いもよらない大反響を呼び……!?

This mentions the eventual monster has a part time job at an ice cream shop and the ones who get part time jobs (to fix the mess the monster made) are Taiju and Wakura.

Another week, another Hapikome. This week’s theme is “tongue-twisters you’re good at”, and so here’s Shimotsuru.

Application for advance tickets for the cheering event on May 18th will not be available past 11:59 pm tonight (Japanese time), so better get in while you can.

Reminder that the DVD/BDs are selling starting from June 20th. One of the bonuses is a DVD involving the Defence Club HK’s trip to Shuzenji, “The Trip To Give Everyone a Happy Reign ~ Earth Defence Club HK in Shuzenji ~ 1st Pt ~”.

The OP and ED CDs are selling well.

In Otomedia+ SPRING 2018, flower crowns are the theme for the Happy Kiss pinup and there’s an interview with Shimotsuru.

Animedia’s Happy Kiss content has already been revealed here but here’s a teaser shot anyway. The article, “Character Song Master”, talks about the OP.

PASH! has also been covered, but for the article specifically, it’s time to chill in the clubroom. As mentioned previously there’s a Takamatsu interview.

Another batch of Happy Kiss details (from the livestream and beyond)

Broadcast times for Happy Kiss are now public for TV and internet services. The next Hapinama is also planned for April 8th (10 pm, Japanese time) to coincide with the first-ever screening of the first episode.

The ED was played for what may have been the first time (and it was confirmed that ES stands for “Edelstein”). It and the OP will have singles out on April 18th (Wed.) as previously announced.

The radio show will be on Radio Osaka from April 7th from midnight with all 5 Happy Kiss Defence Club voice actors.

A Happy Minilive will happen at the science hall on May 6th to celebrate the sale of the OP. More details are here. However, there is an error in the Animate-specific version - the application tickets will be distributed from March 17th 2018 (i.e. tomorrow).

As announced previously, Boueibu Happy Kiss will be represented at AnimeJapan 2018 with can badges and a stage event. If you buy 5 or more badges, you can get a priority ticket for the stage event.

Also announced previously was the appearance of Boueibu Happy Kiss at V-Station THE LIVE! Passion!! 2018. Check the 8th of July if you want to go, and more details are here.

Shouta Hayama is responsible for today’s Hapikome, so let’s find out what made him happy recently.

Voice Animage vol. 37 is on sale today (16th March), so get an eyeful of Happy Kiss by buying a copy.

As for what happened in the Hapinama...aside from what’s listed above, there was a game where the Happy Kiss voice actors had to determine what foods they were allocated by kissing them. The 5 foods were ebi furai, konjac, shiitake mushrooms, dorayaki and sardines (niboshi). The sardines were so small, three of them had to be held up to be kissed, leaving one of the participants in the YouTube LIVE video chat to call it having a “fish harem”, LOL.

When it was almost time to watch the livestream, the broadcast changed the visual from a plainer background to this.

The HK Defence Club discussed a few screenshots from episode 1, starting from this one with Ryoma brushing Kyoutarou’s hair. Notably, they didn’t discuss episode 2 (IIRC).

The announcements changed their background to match the image from earlier (see first image below this dotpoint and compare to previous ones). A lot of announcements were repeats of what’s been covered already so most of their corresponding images are omitted, but there were some new announcements like the showcasing of the character song CD cover art. 

They also played Happy Ready and Ole! Noblesse Oblige in full, although since they’re on sale today nobody’s missing out. There was, however, a “dance version” of Zettai Saikou Happy Kiss, which you can watch for yourself here.

A new event was announced for May 18th at Shinjuku Wald 9 with the HK Defence Club in attendance. It seems to be a similar event to one (way back in June 2015) held during the LOVE! era due to the name of this one including 応援上映会 (Ouenjoueikai, or literally “cheering screening meeting”). Advance tickets for it are already selling here.

That was the last Hapinama for now, but if there’s any more, then they’ll get announced on the twitter like always.

Highlights of the Hapinama itself were Ishii and Komata fooling around while the others announced things off slips of paper, Ishii’s bird impressions, Komata’s meerkat impressions, some unique kissing styles and some poses that each of them took (below).

Happy Kiss is in Spoon.2Di vol. 36 (release: March 30th) and in AniSon Pia (release: April 3rd). Speaking of March 30th, on that day Komata and Shimotsuru will be guests on a radio program called something along the lines of “I’m Not Appearing on TV in AT-X’s New Spring Programs, But I’m Promoting Them Special” (AT-X春の新番組に、 俺、出演してませんけど、番宣しますSP) from 4 pm on Bunka Housou (Culture Broadcast) A&G Plus and that will be replayed on April 5th from 11:30 pm on the same channel.

Reminder that the OP and ED will come out on April 18th, character songs will come out on May 16th and the duets will come out on June 20th.

Also a reminder that the minilive will happen on May 6th - some of the eligibility stuff you can’t participate in yet, but you can still check it out.

Just a reminder that Japanese streaming channels are either getting ready or have already started providing Boueibu Happy Kiss ep 1. Most (specifically Anitere, U-NEXT, Anime Houdai, Nico Nico Douga and GYAO!) will start on the 16th (i.e. in 3 days) - the latter two will release episodes “every week on Monday”, Anitere will release its eps at midnight and the rest will be at 12 pm). The d Anime Store, however, started on the 12th (yesterday) at 12 pm. The Bandai Channel will release eps 1 - 4 on the 7th of May at 12 pm.

Animate Akiba Girls Station is planning on creating a special shop for Boueibu Happy Kiss, including cast-signed CDs, panels including reproductions of scenes and other merch. More details will come later.

TVer will host Happy Kiss episodes. Ep 1 will be on the 15th at midnight (presumably Japanese time) and this will continue until the 8th of July at a minute to midnight, with a one week space in between each. A final run will happen from July 1st at midnight to July 8th at a minute to midnight.
