I'm in the mood where I miss playing A Dream of Jianghu (一梦江湖) and I'm having extreme loner-boner moments thinking about my beloved 姜疏. So I decided to poke fun of the fact that, in the game, you can beat up certain NPCs on the map to hire them for your manor. Since I can't date such a minor character in the game, might as well kidnap (beat him in a fight to get hired into the manor) him over and over again as a form of courting.

VAV: K-pop Discography Deep Dive
VAV (which stands for Very Awesome Voice) is a part of the 3rd generation, debuting in 2016. They’ve had a total of ten members throughout their career: Ace, Jacob, Lou, Ziu, St. Van, Ayno, Xiao, Baron, Zehan, and Gyeoul, though the last four have left.  Here are my credentials: Here are my credentials: yeah, I have nothing. I haven’t heard a single song, I don’t know any of the members, and I…

Well, I've seen the thing! Don't worry, I didn't pay for it. But if anyone is interested, here are my (extremely deep) thoughts about Formed Police Unit.
This is a movie that once again proves that China is incapable of subtlety when it comes to propaganda and self-promotion. Taking place in the fictitious country of "Santa Leonne", where the hard working salt-mining Proletariat has been oppressed by the two-headed monster of White Colonialism and Capitalist Greed leading to bloody uprisings, our Heroes arrive literally blazing the slogan CHINA IS HERE FOR PEACE. And it only gets sillier from here. At one point, a member of the FPU even says "Every life is equal and justice knows no borders!"
#AllLivesMatter? Sign me the fuck up 😂
I'm not going to talk about the "plot," instead I'm going to talk about how many times stuff happens to Wang Yibo's character, Yang Zhen.
(Spoilers under the cut)
1. He uses his helmet to cover a BOMB and when it blows up in his face says "I'm fine."
Tumblr media
2. Then the vehicle he's in gets blown up and flips in the air
Tumblr media
3. Then he gets shot
Tumblr media
4. And blown up again
Tumblr media
5. And then he drowns a little, but don't worry, he's still fine!
Tumblr media
6. And then he gets a little bit tortured by some Evil Whitey.
Tumblr media
Have I mentioned all of this happens in a typhoon?
Tumblr media
Anyways, he obviously survives all of this because China Never Surrenders, and because his boyfriend Captain loves comrades him very much. In fact, their chemistry is so transcendent that the power of their gay love Chinese Bravery stops a sniper from fulfilling his mission of shooting the hostages they've been protecting. Long story short, Justice Knows No Borders, and therefore the good people of Santa Leonne prevail and are never bothered by evil Westerners meddling with their land ever again, or so we are left to presume.
But look, I'm sure you already know that Wang Yibo has intense chemistry with all his male costars. What I was NOT expecting was that the infamous and horrible blackface scene was COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY. They could've left it on the cutting room floor, along with poor Zhang Zehan's footage, and nothing about the plot would have been affected. It's really fucking pathetic that they chose to risk international goodwill for a 30 second nothing-burger 🤦🏻‍♀️. Get your shit together, China.
Was this movie worth watching? Honestly? Not really. But it helped to watch it with some like-minded Yibo fans who contributed much to my enjoyment with their own delightful shit talk 😂♥️.
I now leave you with this final look at the lovers comrades. Aren't they just 😍😍😍?

1 RANDOM FACT ABOUT EACH OF YOUR OCS, GO!
(i didnt forget your ask it just made me go OCsmode <333) (if i sent this already NEW RANDOM FACTS LIST TIME!!!)
YAYYY HELLOO i am ALSO going to go ocsmode <3
Flykk - he plays the pan pipes!! pretty well actually. so well i nearly multiclassed him into bard instead of warlock, which. Everything That Happened Happened Because I Multiclassed Him To Warlock. and all i wanted out of the multiclass was more spellslots
Wroqq - he ended up getting a tattoo of the runes on flykk's sword that say 'for him'
Marigold - she's aroace and i love her for it. also plays the tambourine
V'nandi - she is incredibly selfish and she genuinely hates herself for it. she doesnt do anything much about it though except pretend she doesnt hate herself
Toast - she died happy. she apologised to solen after the fact and i think they made up, eventually
Zehan - takes incredibly thorough notes on everything ever. studies them frequently. about 75% of them arent actually useful but she has them
Ahfald - doesn't agree with the way Zehan was raised and is VERY glad theyre raising their child together away from all that
Cyerce - shes never actually spoken to her mother (thassa) and it worries her. shes the first child of thassa in centuries and she cant even connect with her
Yko - subject of a prophecy that terrifies him!! he's the prophesied saviour of his home and it put a massive target on his back when he was younger so he ran. he hasnt seen his family since
Jak - owns a deck of many things. stole it before they ran away from home. is yet to actually use it, mostly just. stares at it
Cora - gave up her last name and any ties to her family when she accepted the apprenticeship under the god of death. thats definitely the only reason she has no last name and not bc i hate coming up with last names
Cam - the curse turned all their hair white though not as a byproduct of the magic, as a byproduct of the stress it put/s their body under. theyve considered dying it back to brown but at first kept it white to remind them of what they did. it was a badge of shame. theyre slowly learning to like it
Mavis - she can stick her hands through the veil of life and death, but she cant go any further than this or itll kill her. really excellent for her dads' mental health to have a baby who is able to manipulate the veil. thankfully she hasnt tried to stuff it in her mouth yet
East - slightly sculky, but it doesnt affect her. she managed to survive it, though has since become a mildly chthonic harvest god since. we dont talk about the part of her that split off as a ghost
Vikt - kind of the unofficial leader of his people. he is not aware of this. he is also a recluse
Polias - his gold eyes are because of his position as a soldier in the radiant empire, and no they will not go away even though he's been thrown out for treason
Nott - actual name otana, derived from the ashok word for hope. she however thinks this is stupid and that 'nott' is a way cooler sounding name

What’s an entertainment ban in China?
That's a really broad, vague question.
There are many entertainment restrictions in China, so this question could be answered in multiple ways depending on the context you're asking about.
Disclaimer: these are tricky, politically-charged topics, and verified information can be difficult or impossible to find. What follows is my understanding based on my study of this industry over the past few years, and will of course reflect my views and values. YMMV.
I think maybe the likeliest context you were asking about is the 'ban' around specific national days or events, when people do not share or discuss topics related to entertainment or other frivolous subjects out of respect for the occasion. Fans are asked not to post about their idol at that time, as it is a sign of irreverence and disrespect and can lead to trouble for that star.
There are a wide variety of restrictions around entertainment for censorship reasons. What people are allowed to do, wear and say, who is allowed to participate in particular types of roles, etc.
There are certain entertainers who, because of their behavior or the behavior of their fans, may be quietly or openly banned from certain types of public roles or appearances, or whose projects or status in the industry might be put on hold temporarily or permanently. The severity varies depending on the situation. Zhang Zehan is someone most readers will remember as being 'cancelled' fairly comprehensively in this way.
China's entertainment industry is tightly managed by the government, with a stated goal to help shape and guide the values and behavior of the population and embody communist ideals. Entertainers who are not deemed appropriate role models, or who show through fan behavior that they aren't able to appropriately guide people onto righteous paths will come heavily under the scrutiny/punishment of the government and of the public, so these things are not trivial concerns.
If an artist's fans don't properly observe national occasions, for example, and they post a lot and discuss a lot about their star on a national day of mourning or a date of significance to the party, they would be putting that star at serious risk of being cancelled both by the government and by the public.
Over the past few years the government has openly targeted fan culture and has been cracking down heavily on it. Fan groups are viewed as leading young people astray, causing major disruptions and problems, corroding social values and overall needing to be brought under control. Many restrictions, policies and statements from the government have been enacted toward this end.
The government takes a very dim view of any group that can rapidly mobilize based on shared ideas or values that are not government-sanctioned. LGBTQ groups have been heavily targeted in recent years for this reason. Pride parades are no longer allowed, and pro-LGBTQ groups have been shut down without any warning.
It's not because homosexuality is 'illegal' or 'banned' as many Westerners assume. Homosexuality is legal in China and there are even some limited rights afforded citizens and that benefit homosexual couples (more on that in Pie's excellent post). Rather, it's because of the threat to authoritarian power that large, impassioned movements can tend to represent.
This is actually why a lot of gay men who are turtles will avoid sharing their turtle status openly; because they don't want GG and DD to appear to be leading or inspiring a political movement.
Anyway, I hope this somewhat answers your question. If it doesn't, please feel free to write back with a more specific question.
A few related posts:
Nationalistic posts and why they shouldn’t be mined for candy - directly relevant to point 1.
Propaganda and false equivalence - relevant to point 2.
Politics in the fandom - relevant to all of this.
You can also explore the related tags for more on these kinds of topics. But make sure you do so directly from my blog (rather than from your news feed) or you'll get a bunch of unrelated posts from all over Tumblr.
