i hope you have a lovely day <33
More to love
--------------------------
Character: Zedaph x Spider!Reader
Type: Blurb (~1k)
Theme: Romantic, fluff
Summary: Seeing Zed's creations after some time apart never failed to wow- but maybe all you wanted was to steal away and cuddle.
TWs: Respawning/Death, shenanigans, usage of petnames.
A/N: I'm trying to get back into writing, so I'm sorry for the shortness of the fic!! No beta we die like Zedaph.
The clinks of bottles and gentle gurgle of running water would be relaxing had it not been for the various cries and honks from the many animals dangling above the dish-like base. You stare up at them in strange fondness, pondering how he managed to sleep at night when not tucked in your arms. Squinting your eyes (many...many eyes) you scour for your golden-haired lover, trotting around the odd structure. He had called you here for some unknown reason- you had been off world recently so you secretly hoped for a relaxing, cuddly evening. The odds of which was low knowing your lover.
Turning around a bend, you peer down the long hallway lined in shiny golden trophies.
"Zed?!" You call, fangs clicking gently in thought. Did he want to come and find him or something?
"Ah! Over here!!" His voice calls from a different tunnel, and you turn to skitter in his direction.
"This place is somehow a maze!" You huff, finally seeing his familiar form.
Seemingly ignoring your dismay he throws himself towards you- not fearing being dropped due to your extra limbs. Catching him effortlessly you indulge, nuzzling into his hair and flicking sheep ears. He smells as you remember- like sunshine and grass. A satisfied hiss pulls from your lips. You truly needed and evening just holding him in your arms.
"Hi darling." Zedaph sighs, head resting on your shoulder, arms looped under one pair of your own. He's warm pressed against you, soft cardigan brushing the skin on your arms and letting your palms sink into it. His hair is curly and bouncy, catching the light and nearly reflecting it into your eyes. Soft, precious, and just as wonderful as you remember.
"Hi lovely." You respond, smile tugging your lips. You bask in each other for a long moment, before Zed seems to realize something.
"Ah-" He leans back, and you scramble to not let him fall on his ass. "I forgot! I have something to show you." Zed's eyes glitter with that familiar mischief, and earnest excitement to show me his creations. His tail wiggles, matching the curling grin. You cant help the twinge of worry- his creations had a tendency to be...explosive.
"Should I be worried?" You raise an eyebrow. His grin only sharpens. Ah, definitely then.
"It's just over here-" He shifts and you plop him to the ground, snatching your hand he guides you a little further down to an inconspicuous cubby with a bed inside. His palms are soft, with small odd scars from freak accidents, he squeezes one of your hands suddenly buzzing with energy. Thinking something less pg- you raise another eyebrow, heat crawling to your cheeks. Noticing your suspicion he giggles. "Well I wouldn't jump to conclusions." Zed releases you and steps onto the bed. "Prepare- To be amazed." He waggles his fingers as if performing magic- before stepping into a piece of tripwire- and plunging downward. Your heart leaps into your throat-
'Zedaph Withered away.' The chat pings. You almost reach forward to grab him when respawns on another tripwire and plunges into the depths- abruptly you realize he was trying to die.
'Zedaph was squished too much.' Pinged the next, you chuckled letting some tension from your shoulders- squished???
You saw him for just a moment before-
You could guess this one from the loud pop- 'Zedaph went off with a bang.'
'Zedaph was killed by magic.' Declared the next hole.
'Zedaph went up in flames.' You winces sympathetically at the painful manor.
'Zedaph was shot by arrow.'
'Zedaph was impaled.' You stifled a giggle.
'Zedaph was pricked by a pufferfish.'
Finally the last block fell from beneath him.
'Zedaph was pricked to death.'
When he respawned you gave in, reaching forwards and snatching him into you arms. As impressive as the death loop was- it was never a fun experience.
"Zed!" You scolded, "That was probably the stupidest thing you've ever created." Holding him close, you feel his heartbeat slow from the adrenaline rush. He welcomes the cuddles in a boneless slump.
"You promise?" He manages with a giggle. You cant hold back a huff of fondness. He was the stupidest smart person you've ever met. Cradling him a little tighter your protective instincts calmed a tad.
"Yes, I do. Now let's go find somewhere to cuddle thats not the death bed- alright?"
"Mmm fiiinnneee." Zed relented, leaning back to stare lovingly at you. Purple eyes hooded in tiredness and fondness. Pressing a small kiss to his button nose you not so subtly trotted from the death loopificator. "You missed." He declares smugly.
"Oh did I? My apologies." Before he can gloat at the win you lean in to steal his breath. His lips are soft and plush, so easy and tempting to sink your fangs in and claim. But this kiss was sweet- pouring in the love you two bottled up in the small time apart. You dont want to pull away- missing his touch as soon you lean back.
"I love you." He sighs, so absentmindedly it clenches your heart. His eyes flutter open, simply watching you watch him.
"I love you too." You promise, leaning to steal another sweet kiss.
You shuffle him to one side, using an extra arm to fish a bed from your inventory and plop it down. You don't even let go- crawling forwards and placing the two of you onto the sheets. You pepper his face gently with kisses. "No more death loops- okay love?"
He groans as if it was an impossible feat.
"No more death loops- this season?" He offers, puppy dog eyes glittering in hope- and guilt tripping. You sigh, pretending to think about it before chuckling.
"Fiiinnneee." You agree, in much the same tone he had you.
"Thank you lovely". He plunges back into your neck, resting against you delicately.
You cant help the rumble of appreciation that flows through you. Such a lovely, soft person trusting you wholeheartedly. Few others dared got as close- spiders weren't exactly the most popular creatures.
But this fearless little sheep loves you with his entire heart.

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐛&𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 🌱🧄🌿
𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐱 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐱 𝐙𝐞𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐡
𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭♥️
The sun slowly drifts down the sky and soon it will be out of view, Y/n stands it the kitchen looking down at the vegetables on their cutting board as they precisely cut the potatoes with a big stainless steel knife. the small wooden kitchen is filed with the warm and amazing smell of a beautiful roast covered in herbs, broth, vegetables and a viberent red wine that all lay in a crock pot.
Y/n puts all the food scraps in to a bucket and open the sliding door to the back of their house, the garden is in full bloom and forest is quite accept for the lake across the bumpy dirt road. The mini wooden hatch swings open as Y/n unlocks it, potato peels, celery roots, animal fat and other compostable foods all fall out when Y/ns hands turn the red bucket downwards towards the grass.
Crack
Y/n turns around quickly to look at where the sudden sound came from but nothings there accept for a little stick that fell of one of the maple trees snapped half, a small chipmunk makes a clicking sound as it runs up the tree and Y/n laughs at themself for getting so worried about sounds they hear from the forest they live in every day but just as they wind down from laughing two blond boys come up from behind Y/n and..
"BOO!"
A loud scream echo's through the forest in reaction from Y/ns lovers scaring them.
"'WHAT THE HELL YOU TWO, YOU SCARED THE LIVING HELL OUT OF ME!"
giggles turn in to loud laughs as Grian and Zed hear their partners response to there little prank all Y/n can do is look up from them now as now they are sitting on the dirty grass, the warm air hits all of them even though the sun is close to being gone, Y/n gets up and walks to their door locking the two jerks outside. Running up to the door Grian and Zed pound on it begging for their partner to let them in.
"Y/nnnnnn were sorryyyyyyy!"
"We were just trying to surprise you, will let us in for date night already we want to see youuuuu!"
Slowly but surely Y/n slowly opens the door Zed and Gri immediately smother them into a warm, soft, hug. the two lift their heads goofy smiles lay across their faces as the look at their partner and take in the aromatic peppery smell lingering across the cottage. they look down at the beautifully set dinner table, red table cloths spread across the table and Lady of Shallot roses are placed in a transparent red vase.
"it looks lovely, darling" zed says to Y/n as they start to prepare all of their plates.
"it sure does, it smells amazing too" Grian follows up Zeds question, all Y/N does is give a bright smile to them as they walk over to try and help, once again as they rest behind Y/ns shoulder and the smells of the two immediately their smell runs past them. Zed smells like fire and a bit musty from working on him projects and Grian smells earthy and woodlike.
Holding three plates in their hands Y/n place them all down on the table mats, the three sit down to eat the warm meal and talk about their day.
"What did you do today!" Gri say with a smile as he devores his food.
"it was great! I feel like I did so much and now I get to end off with a date! I first dropped off some berries to Ren then I helped Pearl with some of Scars chest monsters and then I ended off by hunting with Tango! it was a fun day, what did you two do?" Y/N says happily putting their hands behind their head.
"I tested Mumbo's Vault today and proud to say it was not Grian proof" Grian quickly chimes in after Y/n.
Zed laughs and talks about his day "I really didn't do much different then a normal day at the lab, Impulse did come visit me though, so that was nice!"
the three continue chatting about their day and the small little details of their work and interactions as they finish up their plates, Zed gets up taking the plates and putting them in the water filled sink. Grian comes up behind the two and swing his arms over their shoulders.
"what do you wanna do now its only 8:00?" he says groaning.
"go put on shorts and a tank top, you two" Zed says looking at Y/n with a sly face, after a few minutes the two come down to see Zed already dressed, he grabs Grian and Y/n pulling them somewhere outside as he tells them to close their eyes.
basically feeling the giddy smile coming off of Zed, Y/n and Grian start to feel a bit nervous, the nerves don't stop until gasps come out of the blind partners cold water engulfs their feet as they step forward.
"HOLY! THATS COLD!" Grian screams, his wings flap up as he feels it, but now as they open their eyes its two late Zed pushes them right into the cold lake, screams and splashing are shared by the two freezing bodies in the lake.
"ZEDAPH!" Y/n yells at him before tackling him into the water with them, now the screams come from him as the two laugh at what he just did to them.
The three partners laughs could be heard miles away from the moon covered lake and no one could do anything to stop them from loving the times the are together cause in the end no matter how much time they have they know they will love each other for every second they breath.

Been seeing alot of x reader so wanted a crack at it with a Warden hybrid/Skulk based reader and zedaph
[Reader] had been living in the dark... Well, all their life. It was their home, their birthplace even, and one they defended with the might of one such a being as them.
But with no competition from other forces, and the mobs being little more than walking morsels, [Reader] was mostly dormant.
Everything changed when the shriekers sounded their alarm and sensors picked up the sounds of footsteps. Waking up to act against the possible looming threats of intruders, [Reader] stumbled into a run, following the vibrations flung around by sensors running amok
The first thing they saw was the trailing bright dots. It felt a little sickening to look at, being one so accustomed to the dark and dim glow, but it wasn't important. The next thing they saw was a mob unlike any other.
The long fuzz on the head was a light yellow; their skin living unlike the zombies [Reader] was so used to. Encrusted on either side of their head were a set of comparatively small yet hardy set of horns that seemed too brittle to collect vibrations clearly.
Anything below that was hidden in a long white cloak that radiated glowing dust and secrets and everything that wanted to know said secrets of how what worked and why it was done that way.
The thing that kept [Reader] seemingly stuck in places was the newcomer's eyes, wide from holding bubbling curiosity at the sight of them.
Those eyes were... very pretty when paired with that wonder in them.
~🪶
This city may only hold memories and graves now, but it is still a place Reader once called home. They can't let down their guard, no matter how pretty this strange intruder is.
They reach a muted agreement. Reader stays a safe distance from the being, and the being only looks, and doesn't touch. Occasionally the being looks back, smiling and waving when they find Reader is still there. The white coat makes them easy to find, like a beacon in the darkness.
It is almost sad, when they leave. It has been so long since Reader saw a creature that wasn't trying to destroy this place - clawing at walls or tearing up skulk. It was a nice change. Something beautiful, yet fleeting. But the caverns fall silent again, and Reader returns to sleep, happier for the memory.
They don't expect the creature to come back, especially with the intent of finding Reader. This time armed with pictures of places and things Reader doesn't recognise, and rounded scribbles they find no meaning in.
It is fascinating. And a mutual exchange. Clearly, this being wants to learn about this place, and Reader enjoys the company.
No harm will come to this small, squishy creature, within Reader's walls.

Hermitcraft / Life Series Fic Recs
Because I love so many of them...
I'll split the fics into completed and updating fics, and try to only recommend currently updating fics (i.e., not abandoned). I'm going to write a little about why I like each fic and what the general vibes are - so this is also a kind of review I guess?
I've tried to @ the authors if they have a public tumblr. Sorry to anyone who didn't want to be tagged, I can remove any @ if you ask (or if I have embarrassingly tagged the wrong person). Anyway, enjoy, and I appreciate reblogs because I want as many people to see these fics as possible!!
This ended up being incredibly long so I'm putting a divider here. Click to keep reading!!! Also, fair warning: shipping ahead! Some fics will have mild sexual content, please read the tags if you are unsure <3
Updating Fics
I have already recommended Help Me To Breathe, lost in the dark (he's got a heavy heart), and There Are Monsters Nearby in this post, so I won't explain why I like them a second time, but definitely check them out!!
Death's A Good Gig by @mawofthemagnetar is probably going to be finished by the time this post gets to you, reader, but I'm putting it here anyway. It's short and sweet, one of my favourite representations of Zedaph (or, Zedeath) I've read, and just a joy to experience. If you like grim reapers and discussions of unions, this one is for you. Also I need more Zedaph in my life.
Look, I'm Sorry, Please Stop Scaring Everyone by @cat-in-the-desert reminds me a lot of a particular TV drama I liked when I was younger, which followed a similar premise. This fic follows Mumbo (vampire) and Grian (ghost) as they get up to various housemate shenanigans and meet their local magic-expert and salesman Scar. This fic is fun, but still includes a nice amount of Feelings and hinted-at Angst which I really love. It's lighthearted, but never boring.
It Hurts To Hope by Inquillitory is my favourite of the "Grian crash lands into Hermitcraft and causes problems for everyone" genre. Seeing how many fics there are with that premise, I think that says a lot. It handles Grian's weird Watcher stuff really well. Honestly, I just want to know what happens next!
killing the boy in the tv by @raspberrystruck is like a sickfic on steroids. If you want Grian with so much past trauma he forgets how to function in society, this is basically the fic for you. I really love how hybrid traits affect the characters' interactions in this fic, and how everyone is kind of messed up because of the imbalance Grian brings. It is wonderfully descriptive in all the right places!
Love Me Like I'm Dead by @daniofcrows is such a gem. You know how hard it is to find good Xisuma whump? It's impossible. I absolutely love how Xisuma and Evil X are characterised in this, and I am obsessed with the unique take on hanahaki disease which I have never seen handled in this way before. The balance between flashbacks and present day is maintained wonderfully and I cannot wait to continue reading this one. Wow.
Oh, you wanted me to do a verse? by @bugbbear is... kind of indescribable. It's horror. It's comedy. It's the apocalypse. It's boatem. Scar eats someone. One of the most interesting and unique apocalypse stories I have read. Slowly updating but worth the wait, in my opinion. This one NEEDS more attention.
So Much For Stardust by @a-plethora-of-peters is basically one of my all-time favourites. Which is a damn good achievement seeing as I don't usually read ZITS fics. Like, ever. In this fic, Skizz is a human abducted and hurt badly by aliens, now recovering in the care of good aliens who don't know how 'sentient' he is. Every update of this one makes me smile, it is wonderful. I love how the characters are written and how the different perspectives are shown. It is just great.
Solar Waltz by @raspberrystruck and aroundtheclock is a brilliant and very very sad regression fic. I love fluffy regression fics as much as the next guy, but this one just... hits different. The hurt/comfort levels are off the charts. Grian is so damn cute the whole time, while also being harrowingly complicated and sad. I am so ready for whatever comes next.
Tango's Castle of Cards by @evilrat-sabre is the one where Tango is a BUG. He's just a little guy (horror). This one is so beautifully written, with poetry-type interludes and perspective changes that really make everything feel so much more impactful. Finding out your buddy is a murder bug isn't the easiest thing in the world. I love this so much.
Traveling Thieves {Dark Fantasy AU} (series) by @amethystfairy1 is basically one of the series of all time. I know I keep saying that but it really really is. I love a good fantasy au, and I love an au with hybrids even more. In this world, hybrids are treated like slaves, but it isn't all doom and gloom for the main characters of each installment. There is a lot of hurt/comfort and the different stories feed into each other in really interesting ways. I try to read as much as I can, though I've missed a few because my emails are buggy. Definitely worth reading these fics, especially since now they're all starting to come together!
Completed Fics
Solving Counting Sheep by @theminecraftbee might have rearranged my brain chemistry a little. Another strong contender for 'fics that inspire me to kill Grian', this time with a more concrete notion of "replacement". Three is my favourite fucked up living weapon. It's so rare to find Evo fics in this day and age, too. This fic had me immediately clicking on every update as soon as I got the emails.
Rescue Fire by @imaginethat0327 is one of the most unique takes on a fictionalised life series game that I have ever read. The whole concept is explained in a realistic and easy-to-follow way, as we learn what's happening with the characters. There are several brilliant storylines happening in this one, but my particular favourites are Jimmy & Tango, Joel, and of course Scar & Grian. This fic is full of whump and, well, read the tags, it isn't always pleasant, but those are my favourite things ever. Definitely worth checking out this fic and its currently updating sequel.
don't you know about me? by takenbadgering is a wonderful comedy of errors with just the right amount of angst for a realistic setting type of fic. If you enjoy polyamory miscommunications, rave aesthetics, kandi, school teacher dynamics, and a lovely blend between grumbo, cubscar, and mumscar, this is the one.
Eventually the Birds Must Land by @milo-hypno follows a polyam ship I would have never thought of, and I cannot believe how much I loved it. This married-as-friends fic premise is wonderful, and captures the main trio (Grian, Mumbo, Impulse)'s personalities so well, while balancing them with the incredibly terrifying descriptions of the Watchers and their power. There's a lot of angst here, but it is ultimately hurt/comfort to the maximum degree. I loved reading it as it updated. Yay for gay marriage!
From The Archives (series) by @sixteenth-days was the absolute inspiration for my own Comms AU, and I will never forget its influence on me. As someone basically unfamiliar with TMA, I thought this series might be hard to follow, but it was not! I read all 57 parts in the span of two days, and I think it altered my brain chemistry. Please read it, even if (especially if) you don't know anything about TMA. The Cleo and Grian storyline lives in my head rent free. I mean it. This is horror at its finest. Also there's an audio series of this fic being released rn, which is very cool.
SUPERCRITICAL by @masque-of-plague hits different. It is such a wonderful take on the superhero/HotGuy trope, and it gets so super dark at some points! This one really takes swings at it's fictional government, which of course I love, while at the same time building this brilliantly emotional relationship between Scar and Grian. I do enjoy a bit of enemies to lovers, but the actual plot mixed into the story makes this one extra special. It is thrilling, with action that I don't get to see too often! Great work.
I am weary with contending! is one of the mumscarian fics of all time. From 'this house has people in it'-type horror, to magic gone wrong, to childhood trauma, to attempted assassination, to gender fuckery, this fic has it all. Usually I don't go for convex siblings, but this one is good enough to get a pass from me. Amazingly detailed worldbuilding alongside a brilliantly creative story.
It Spreads by @foxxology may not count as a fic, actually. It's a comic. But it's posted on ao3 so it counts. I was obsessed with this one as it was updating, honestly. It rocked me to my core. The art is phenomenal. The writing is brilliant. I love sculk.
Luck of the sea by Sleepy_Duck is a lovely take on mermaid and human interactions, with Grian as a marine life conservator and Scar as a very neglected mer. This one takes us emotionally in all sorts of directions, and offers lots of hope for the future of the characters. I heavily enjoyed this fic - if you like mermaids and marine biology, check it out.
there are many downsides to being a marine biologist by donnerstag is another mermaid fic but with a pretty different vibe. First of all, it follows what I would consider a rarepair Doc/Martyn. Second of all, reading this as it updated was a thrilling experience that nearly made me cry at certain points. I love how the relationship builds in this fic. It is honestly amazing. The whole idea of experimenting on a sentient sea creature, learning that he can communicate, then losing funding and having to save him from being dissected?!?! It's crazy. I love it.
Thus concludes my fic recommendations. I hope you enjoy at least some of these, and consider reblogging to spread these wonderful fics around <3

Landscaping your mind - 100 Followers series - Unfinished and uncontinued
HC Tolkien AU - WIP
━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━
Hiya :) Eli here! I have a few rules, so here’s what I’ve got.
Things that aren’t going to change
- I write with gender neutral pronouns (they/them).
- Don’t send me things about content creators that are offensive and likely harmful. I have had a few of these in the past and I beg you not to.
- Don’t say (or ask me to say) anything rude directed at any content creator, blogger, etc..
- Inbox and DMs are always open
- I will not tolerate any discriminative behaviour in my inbox, DMs, replies, reblogs, etc. The internet should be a kind and welcoming place where everyone is equal.
DOs
- Suggestive/innuendos (if you want)
- x readers
- Kinds of stories: Headcanons, full stories, drabbles, multi-part stories (e.g. asking for a sequel/prequel/follow-up)
- I will, on occasion, ship. Anything ship related will be tagged with: “[fandom]shipping” “shipping” “[ship name]”
- Request a Hermit, Traffic Series member (I may turn down DL requests depending on if I can work around the soulmate issue), EVO member, etc..
- I’m also a Tolkien, X-Files , Pokemon, and DC nerd, so if you want to talk about those or request someone, hit me up :D For Tolkien fics, just specify if you want it to be based off the book character or an adaption (e.g. book Elrond, film Elrond, or RoP Elrond)
- You can swear as long as it isn’t offensive or a slur
- I can write angst, yandere, poly, fluff, platonic, family dynamic stories.
- Be specific!
DON’Ts
- I will not write minors.
- NSFW stories. NSFW blogs, please be an anon if you want to talk/put in a request
- I will not write adult x minor or power imbalances (e.g. teacher-student)
- I will not write for real people, only the characters they portray
━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━
REQUESTS ARE OPEN.
I’m slow, but they are open :D
━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━
In terms of Minecraft
At the moment I write for all Hermits. However, there are some I write better for than others. How much Hermitcraft I write and post will depend on my mental state (see tags for more info).
I write best for (but don’t let that stop you from requesting otherwise!):
GoodTimesWithScar
Grian
MumboJumbo
Zedaph
Xisumavoid
Bdoubleo100
Rendog
Docm77
Ethoslab
VintageBeef
Keralis
Helsknight
Evil X
#reorganising#about hermits:#long story short i had a really traumatic experience in 2023#i was being badly manipulated and emotionally abused by someone i was close to#i became isolated and dependent on them#i still hurt from the stuff that happened despite us not being in contact anymore#hermitcraft was what brought us together and its hard sometimes for me to enjoy it without things being brought up#so occasionally i'll skip requests or take a while due to everything#as of right now (start of april 2024) im not posting about it because i havent caught up on hc yet but i will once i do

Hello everyone! This was written as part of the unofficial underrated hermits week project by @boop-ity! Thanks for asking me to be a part of this!
Curiouser and Curiouser
c!Zedaph x gn!Reader
Summary: Your husband is a scientist, and you’re his assistant. One day, he asks you to step into the experiment, and something stranger than either of you expected shows up in the results.
Notes: Established relationship (married), set in Season 8 of HermitCraft, scientific experiments, mentions of loud noises, reader has superpowers (kind of?).
Ever since you learned of Zed’s plan for the season, you claimed the role as his assistant. Not that there was much competition, as your husband wouldn’t have even considered asking anyone else.
When he decided to start experiments on his fellow hermits, you were happy to help with the proceedings. You set up the test chamber and helped to come up with the various parts to the examination, right beside Zedaph the entire time. When he (inevitably) asked you to be one of the subjects, you were more than happy to oblige. You didn’t expect your results to be anything unusual, especially with how arbitrary the tests were designed to be.
How wrong you were.
It started out the same as any other experiment, and you dropped into the testing chamber without ceremony. Soon, Zed’s voice came through the speaker system you’d helped to set up.
The first test was nothing simple item association, and you came up with suitably reasonable items, certainly nowhere near the strangest of answers.
The first unusual thing happened when Zed asked you to create an automatic system. With the materials provided, you figured it would be simple to make an automatic bamboo farm, much like those of previous subjects. Once the structure was completed, you began to lay out the redstone dust. Somehow, though, an observer was not in the provided items, despite you being pretty sure that it had been there for the other experimentees.
“Well, this kind of throws off the plan.” With a slight grumble, you began to painstakingly pull up the strips of redstone dust. Without a power source, you couldn’t even set up a simple loop.
As you thought power source, something twitched in your fingers. Instinctively, you jerked back from the wiring in time to see a red glow emerge from your hands. The wiring began to spark, and you only watched in shock as the circuit whirred to life under your fingertips.
Turning to your husband, he looked just as stunned by this development as you were. After a moment, he began scribbling at his clipboard, adjusting the microphone by his mouth before speaking over the intercoms again. “Fascinating! I take it from your reaction that this hasn’t happened before?”
You shot him a small glare, even you couldn’t help but smile at him. “Zed, you know this hasn’t happened, just as well as I do. You’ve been there every time I’ve done redstone. That’s your specialty, not mine.”
Despite that… unusual event, the rest of the tests seemed normal. At least, until Zedaph asked you to make as much noise as possible using only the items in the chamber with you.
Immediately, you were drawn to the minecart. You’d heard enough people complain about how loud they could get. If only you could get it moving quickly… Kneeling down, you rearranged the track to make a loop rather than a squiggle, then looked around at the other objects. What could you use to power the minecart so it would move on its own?
Again, you felt a trembling in your fingers. Glancing back towards the iron cart, the red glow was back. Sparks flew from your hands to the cart, shooting down into the wheels and the track, and jolting the minecart forward.
The minecart shot forward at a speed that made you jump back with a yelp. It was certainly loud, and a screeching came from the wheels, which were skidding along the tracks at a speed that was just a bit too fast.
Clapping your hands to your ears, you stepped back. A pressurised hiss came from somewhere to the side, and you turned to see Zed moving quickly towards you, the glass wall that had been separating you still sliding to the side. Stepping toward the device you’d created, he took his pickaxe and broke a piece of the track, stopping the cart just as swiftly as it started.
He turned towards you, and the half-panicked look on his face melted into something of reassurance. “Are you alright, darling? You’re shaking.”
You looked down at yourself. He was right. “I hadn’t even realised!” Smiling gently at you, your husband spread out his arms. You practically melted into his grasp, wrapping your own arms around him. “I was not expecting these results when I agreed to be one of your test subjects.”
He let out a chuckle, the vibrations carrying more than the sound as you pressed into his chest. “Well, none of the hermits are exactly normal. I suppose you’re just a bit curiouser than we realised.”

Impulse: Hey, that’s a nice ring you got there.
Y/N: Thanks!

Free Fall; C. Zedaph x Reader
In which Zed convinces his partner to participate in a dangerous challenge.
———
“Are you sure about this?”
Y/n couldn’t help the tremor in their voice as they spoke their worry aloud, having to project much more than they were used to. The wind whipping around them drowned out all other sounds, their voice just barely able to be carried over to Zedaph’s ears.
He smiled at them reassuringly, patting their shoulder with a little too much force. Enough that Y/n wobbled in place, gasping suddenly at the unsteadiness, fearful that they’d tumble down prematurely.
Zed gripped their shoulder to hold them still, beaming apologetically.
“Sorry! Yes I’m sure! It’s perfectly safe!” He shouted back at them, blond hair brushing in front of his eyes. He made a move to push it out of the way, but was ultimately unsuccessful, as it was too short to tuck behind his ears, and the wind was persistent.
Y/n gulped, only feeling slightly better with his confirmation of safety. Zed didn’t exactly have a history of experiments going well.
Taking a hesitant look toward the ground, Y/n’s heart fell even further to the bottom of their stomach, something they weren’t even sure was possible a few seconds ago.
Absentmindedly, they found Zedaph’s hand, the one on their shoulder. Y/n looped their fingers though his, pulling it down so they they hung at waist level, but didn’t let go. They gripped tightly, feeling his pulse through the pressure. Y/n counted each of Zed’s heartbeats, grounding themself with an organic metronome.
Zedaph squeezed back reassuringly, looking down at the ground himself. His reaction was opposite, feeling more and more excited to jump down. He glanced at the person next to him. His partner, he noticed, looked about ready to throw up.
“Hey.” He shouted in attempt to get their attention.
Y/n looked his direction worriedly. Zedaph felt bad for a moment for begging them to do this with him. In all fairness, he didn’t realize they’d be this freaked out.
“I’ve got you okay? Are you ready?”
Y/n kept their eyes on Zedaph, unwilling to look back down at the ground below. Before they could change their mind, they nodded their head and shouted an affirmative “yeah!”
Zedaph didn’t hesitate, taking one step off of the ledge, hand in Y/n’s, dragging them with. As soon at solid ground was no longer under their feet, Y/n shut their eyes, still clinging to Zed’s hand like they’d perish if they let go.
They heard Zedaph scream, not of fear but of pure adrenaline. His hold on their hand tightened, their bodies coming closer together in the free fall. Y/n turned their head toward him, figuring if the both of them were going to die together, they were at least gonna get a hug out of it.
Zed picked up on the memo, bringing them in even closer with their interlocked hands. In his other, he held a remote.
The scientist prepared himself as the ground drew closer, hoping that the redstone he’d set up hadn’t decided to mysteriously stop working. He’d spent days on the project, meticulously setting up repeaters and timing sections to get everything just right. He’d need the water to fill up the bottom just before they hit bedrock if this was going to work.
Seconds before certain demise, Zedaph pressed a big red button on the remote, bracing himself for impact.
There was a loud splash as the both of them were plunged into water. Y/n’s eyes opened on impulse, finding themselves in a small pool that hadn’t existed when they’d first stepped off the ledge. Under the water, Zedaph was already staring back at them, his violet eyes huge with excitement and fist pumped in the air. A geiser of bubbles left his mouth as he shouted his celebrations into the pool. Y/n couldn’t help but shout back at him, their own voice muffled by the waves that had been formed upon their plunge.
Seconds later, they found themself gasping for air above surface, almost able to stand with how shallow the pool was.
“That was amazing!” They heard Zed yell, the man himself making his way towards them to share his joy.
Y/n squealed when they felt hands at their waist, suddenly finding themself lifted halfway out of the water by their overly-excited boyfriend.
“Incredible! From the top of the world to the bottom! I told you we could do it!” He exclaimed, walking the both of them over to a ledge a block up where it was dry. Zed sat Y/n on edge, remaining in the water to stare up at them.
“You did it Zed! You just dragged me along with you!” Y/n teased, drawing him in for a well-deserved celebratory kiss. Zedaph reached soggy hands up to hold their face. Dropping the remote onto the floor next to them.
“Couldn’t have done it without your support love.”

‘sometimes pain leads to comfort, I guess’
the reader is on her period and her loving boyfriend Zedaph comforts her.
Zedaph x Fem! reader
contains: mentions of reader being on her period, mentions of pain swearing, flirting, two pretty suggestive science pick-up lines fluff
Flirting, something you enjoyed very much. You especially loved flirting with Zedaph, seeing what pick-up lines made him a blushing mess and what ones he would say something along the lines of “Well, that sounds more like you” or perhaps responding with his own pick-up lines to get you blushing. The flirting has gotten to a point where you don’t care who is there, you go out of your way to try and make Zed blush.
Today was different though. It was your time of the month, and your cramps were unbearably painful to the point you felt sick, so you decided to spend the day in bed, only leaving to get food, more painkillers, fresh heating pack or to refill your glass. At least until there was a knock on your door followed up with someone saying, “Are you okay Y/N?” and you recognized that person as the science-loving sheep that you grew to love. He sounded worried.
You groaned, frowning, and curling further into a ball and calling out a pained “Do you think I’m fucking okay? I’m on my period, my cramps hurt like hell, and I just want to sleep!” getting even more annoyed when Zedaph entered the room, closing the door behind himself, walking over to your bed to spoon you, his arms finding their way around you, pulling you closer to his chest. “Fuck you, Zed” you muttered, face going a deep shade of red as the man in question rubs his hands in a circle on your abdomen, applying enough pressure to lighten the pain from your cramps slightly.
“Not now, Y/N” Zed joked, chuckling as you turned round burying your face in his chest, mumbling something. “You love me really, Lamb” the sheep hybrid said, voice teasing and way more flirtatious than when you two would try pick-up lines with each other “And that feeling is mutual” Zed whispers in your ear, no sign of a joke in the way he spoke to you, sending a shiver down your spine. This didn’t go unnoticed by the man you were pressed against, his lips curving into a smile.
As Zedaph went kiss the exposed skin of your neck when someone barged in practically breaking the door off its hinges. “I found them!” a voice you could recognise as Impulse, yelled out the door to who you could only assume to be Tango down the hall of your starter base. Zedaph let out a noise that sounded like a growl, letting Impulse know to leave and take Tango with him. Impulse chuckled nervously before backing out the room, closing the door, and dragging Tango out and away from your starter home.
The time passed as Zedaph told you stupid science pick-up lines some of which were pretty inappropriate which is what he was still doing, and it was getting to a point where you had buried your face further into his chest. “Every time I see you, I get a hardness of 10” was whispered in your ear, Zedaph’s voice dangerously low as you grasp his shirt trying to not laugh.
“Stop… That one is the worst so far.” you say, looking up at Zed, him already looking at you.
“Could be worse” he says as if he’s getting ready to say a somehow worse geological pick-up line, “I mean, I must be a diamond, because you gave me a hardness of 10.” He says, now smirking down at you as you hide your face in his chest again.
“Stop.” You say, not looking at him. “You win with the pick-up lines” you say, now looking up at him, your face as red as redstone. Zedaph laughs and sits up, sitting you in his lap as he reaches for his communicator, that you had now only realised was sat on your bed side table.
“The girls are wondering if you’re okay” Zed tells you, resting his chin on your head. You smile, reaching for your communicator, telling the girls the you are okay and just on your period, receiving the question ‘Do you need any pads or tampons?’ and just replying that you’re fine and have plenty of pads and tampons.
An hour later, there was a knock on your door. “Come in” you called out, looking at the doorway only to see Xisuma walk in Pearl and Grian behind him trying to pester the poor admin. When pearl caught sight of you, she completely forgot about trying to pester X with Grian, instead focusing on acting like the mum friend and asking if you needed anything. You ignored her and focused on Grian and Xisuma, glaring at Grian when he smirked at you about being curled up to Zedaph.
“How are you?” Xisuma asked you, grabbing the back of Grian’s jumper and holding him back from annoying you. Pearl decided to leave and drag Grian with her, as Stress walks in, a cup of tea/coffee/water in her hands and a pack of pain killers. Stress tells X that she has got it and to go prevent Grian from murdering Scar as she sets the mug/glass on your bedside table with the pain killers, telling you to take some of the painkillers and take a drink, telling Zed to remind you and then leaving.
“You heard Stress, take the meds” Zed speaks, taking a couple of pain killers out of the packet and putting them in your hand handing you the cup of tea/coffee/glass of water. You take the pain killers and lay down, making Zedaph lay down with you, you close your eyes and can feel yourself drift off “I love you, lamb” Zed says to you, voice quiet and happy.
“I love you too, Zed” you tell him, your own voice drowsy and loving as you fall asleep, having the best sleep you have had since the start of last season. and as you fell into the embrace of slumber you thought to yourself ‘sometimes pain leads to comfort, I guess’ and your dream was something to say the least,.

It's Tough to be Mortal
Pairing: God!Reader x Hermitcraft
Request: DODO MY BELOVED DO YOU REMEMBER THE CONVO WE HAD ABOUT GOD READER. WOULD YOU BE COOL WRITING THAT BESTIE?
Word count: 4k
Grian was standing in front of his mansion, debating on what needed revamping. Sure it was already enormous but there was something missing about it. It’s been bothering him for ages. An answer that always seemed to appear was something others would call outlandish. Something more than unnecessary.
His mansion needed to be taller.
Did his mansion already tower over the rainforest that lay before of it? Yes. Did it also go pretty far below ground level? Also yes. A grand mansion like this must have something to separate it from the surrounding area. The moat-like feature couldn’t be small either. No, that’d be an injustice to the mansion. What he needed was something to-scale for it. Though it’d be nice if his nether portals would actually fit in the little arches he dug out…
“Hey Grian!” a voice suddenly appeared. It’s unexpected entrance made it seem like a bellow and it was absolutely terrifying to hear.
Grian shrieked, jumping around to see who disturbed him from his thoughts. There, behind him, was little ole you. If he weren’t so spooked, he would’ve found your expression rather hilarious.
Your face was a gorgeous combination of joy with a hint of confusion. The expression was similar to one Grian wore often. He mostly wore it when he was found pranking the other hermits. Although you did many pranks alongside him, it didn’t seem like you were trying to pull on now. “Seem” being the key word. Appearances can be deceiving after all.
“Why hello there,” Grian was grateful for your sudden appearance. Another set of eyes to help decide what was missing. It was like the gods just knew of his plight. “Why’d you come visit?”
“Oh I just wanted to chit-chat,” You reply, your eyes wandering to Grian’s most recent muse. “But you seem somewhat busy at the moment. I’ll come by another time.”
“Wait,” Grian still desperately needed an outsider’s opinion. “We can talk right now. I’m just trying to figure out what my mansion is missing.”
“Are you sure,” you prod. Talking to Grian after you interrupted him felt wrong. He was obviously busy and you disturbed him more than you should’ve. The creative process could be rather elusive once you have it, easily escaping the moment you stop thinking of it.
“Positive.”
“Well, if you insist,” you give in rather easily. How you craved interaction. And it was so readily available here as well. “I mostly came over to thank you.”
“Thank me for what,” Grian was beyond confused. First off you could be thankful for anything. Second off you didn’t need to thank him for anything. Third off he can’t think of anything he’d done for you that you hadn’t thank him for already. “You don’t have to thank me for anything, you know. Everything was a pleasure to do.”
“But i still feel like making you aware,” you reply so nonchalantly to him. In a way it seemed like you didn’t care what he had to say in reply. He knew you did care, you’ve shown you cared in the past. But now it seems to be the opposite. It must’ve been like one of those cases where you don’t listen to a friend when you help them because they think they’re a problem. That’s what it feels like anyways.
“You and the hermits made me realize so many things about life I had either long forgotten or never realized,” your words were spoken in such a soft manner, like you were dreamily reliving whatever you were referring to.
“Again, it wasn’t a problem at all,” Grian reiterated himself. He didn’t want to seem rude but at the same time it honestly wasn’t something that bothered or irked him. Although he may not have realized he was helping you with that, it was nice to know you felt great about your interactions together.
You looked like you were far from finished talking though. So Grian decided to listen to your words. Maybe look at what needed fixing with his mansion. No, that’d be rather rude.
“With our interactions together,” you were restarting whatever you were saying. Oh boy. “the small joys of life have been revealed to me. For example, I never knew those loud boxes of yours had any significance besides just making a loud noise. Well they are made to make noise, but I was unaware of the significance besides that. Now, through you, I have found the sounds rather joyful. I never knew you could trap music in a box until now.”
Grian had been beyond confused with your description. It felt odd and awkward. He only figured out what you meant when you said “music in a box”. Either you meant a music box or a jukebox. Everyone knew what a music box was; everyone had interacted with one in their lifetime whether they remembered it or not. Jukeboxes were also a well known item. Your experience with them felt odd to hear. Very alien. Who doesn’t know what a juke box is?
“Oh don’t even get me started on those little slimy critters,” you excitement seemed to grow exponentially. If he weren’t there to see it, he would have a hard time picturing what that description would entail. “The slimy ones are slugs, right? I think they’re slugs. Not those square ones, no i know those are Slimes. But the cylindrical ones, i think that’s what you call that shape, that most people find rather unpleasant. They live in gardens. Yes, those. I never got to experience them up close until recently. Also the little slugs with shells.” You pause, a look of deep concentration covers your face. A few times you try to restart your description with the name but come up empty.
The pause is long enough to give away that you most likely didn’t remember the name of what you described at all. It was rather cute because you were so deep in thought about it. You looked around too, like anything could give you a clue as to your mystery animal.
“Do you mean snail,” Grian prompted. He was giving you a stick to latch onto. Watching you flail for an answer any longer would be cruel.
“Yes,” you reply gleefully,” those things. Snails and slugs are so sweet. I can’t believe people can dislike them so much. They regard them as pests but they’re just little wonders. It’s so hard to see why people dislike them. Is it because they’re slimy, like blood?”
That description felt like a record scratching or stopping; it felt like the mood got changed completely. “Excuse me,” Grian laughed nervously. He simply must’ve misheard. “Could you repeat that?”
“I absolutely can- wait, which part do you need,” your confusion was rather evident. Did you really have no clue where the problem lay?
“The snail and slug part. Where you were wondering why people didn’t like them. What was the reasoning you gave?”
“Oh that! I said, ‘is it because they’re slimy, like blood’” You reply so helpfully. A child-like glee seemed to emanate from you.
“I don’t think that’s exactly why people dislike them,” Grian began. He didn’t know how to bring it up to you that your description wasn’t wrong but also wasn’t right. “Some people dislike them because they eat, destroy or kill their plants. Or they have a plethora of them where they’re unwanted.”
“Oh,” somehow his answer saddened you. “So they treat them like unwanted kittens?”
Again, you weren’t wrong nor were you exactly right. It just didn’t exactly sit right with him. Because yes, they could be treated like unwanted kittens.
“Sure,” It was simpler to just go along with it. After all, the general idea wasn’t wrong. Anything unwanted was a pest in someone’s eyes and therefore treated like one.
“Oh the poor things,” you start to tear up. “Why do people treat them like that?” You’re tearing up over snails and slugs? This is going to be a long explanation as to why they’re treated so horribly. He really didn’t want to have to break your heart further over the slugs and snails, but your pained yet curious eyes just begged for more information. It was going to be a long day.
______________________________________________________________
The clicking of redstone echoed around the cavern. After a long chain of clicks, lights flickered and moved. It was like the sun, although the appearance was shoddy and limited considering what it was made of.
It’s creation was for one purpose; to replicate the sun but underground. A quirky clock. Very large and eye catching. Much more eye catching than a regular clock anyways. The ceiling was partially ripped out, revealing the dazzling rays of sunlight that peaked over the horizon.
Zedaph, the creator of this magnificent creation, stood below it. Both looking at it in awe and scrupulously. He was only at the beginning stages but this played a key part in showing the progress. Was he actually doing everything right? It already moved once but it did that last time. Oh it’s getting close to changing now, or should be. “Zedaph,” you flung yourself at him, hanging onto him as you two went down. Although not the most pleasant entrance, it was rather endearing. “Oh sorry about that! Looks like I got a wee bit over excited.”
“It’s alright,” you two got off the ground, you much more gracefully than him. “It didn’t hurt too much.”
“Oh my gosh I hurt you,” you frantically search Zedaph over, looking for any sign of damage you might have caused. “Oh i am so so sorry I didn’t mean for any of that to happen I just-” “I said it’s alright,” Zedaph reiterates, gently pushing you away. “I’m perfectly fine. See?” He even does a little twirl for you.
You don’t seem convinced, not in the slightest. But your second attempt to search him gets declined and you’re forced to believe him. At least somewhat.
“So what brings you around here,” Zedaph inquires. “I know my indoor sun-clock system is pretty awesome, but it’s far from complete. And there isn’t really anything else in the cave of contraptions either.”
“I’m well aware of that,” your reply is odd, but easily overlooked. All of the other hermits have their quirks, after all. This is no different. “But I came over for other reasons.”
“Other reasons?” “Well not reasons,” you correct yourself. “What I actually mean is reason. I don’t know why I said reasons. Why did I say- anyways I just wanted to talk with you.”
“Some good ole talking with me,” Zedaph had to clear any doubt, even though there really shouldn’t have been any. “Well I’m quite honored to have you over to talk. What did you want to talk about?”
“Oh I simply wanted to discuss the differences between Hermitcraft and other servers. I knew Hermitcraft was different but I couldn’t put a finger on what it was. That was until recently. That “eureka” moment hit me and I just had to share with someone.” Your self satisfaction was undeniable and honestly somewhat charming in the way you were so pleased and proud by your actions.
“How so,” Zedaph inquires. He wants to listen to you, he really does. But redstone is just calling his name and how can he deny it. So he starts to fiddle with some redstone. Find a way to do the decline of the sun for his clock. He could easily listen to what you were saying and figure this out, right? It couldn’t be that hard.
“So I noticed how everything is so nice and peaceful here,” you remark, slowly following him. “It’s like one of those fairytales you share to your children. So absolutely perfect. Then there are others where chaos reigns like there’s no god but itself. You know what I’m saying.”
“Uh-huh,” Zedaph mindlessly agrees with whatever you just said. “Fairytales are like that.”
“Excellent,” you quietly cheer in joy at his supposed “understanding”. “So anyways this place is so much less malevolently chaotic and more playfully chaotic. And I recently realized something. Something that you guys don’t do that many other servers do. Are you aware of what that is?”
“Yea sure,” Zedaph started to fiddle around with the placement of droppers and redstone. “Go right on ahead.”
“Okay! So what you guys don’t do is something many other servers do- oh I just mentioned that. But anyways! There’s so little violence, it’s truly wonderful, don’t get me wrong. I must inquire though, do you expect there to be any violence? Anytime soon for that matter?”
Zedaph gives a simple “no” before his mind and hands are back onto the redstone before him.
“Well that’s great yet terrible,” you sigh in disappointment. “A true tragedy. Guess I need to go to another server again.”
Those words caught Zedaph’s attention rather quickly. He’d only half listened before but you now had his entire attention.
His mouth spoke faster than he could think. “Why would you go somewhere else? Especially for violence?”
He turns to you and is greeted with your confusion. Perplexion shows itself well on your face, accentuated by a small head tilt. It was a silent way of asking “are you really asking this” or a simple curiosity. Either or really. Yet this didn’t clear his confusion at all. If anything, it made everything just that more muddled. Why are you acting like he should know the answer?
“No I genuinely don’t understand. Can you please explain?” Zedaph hoped you could actually clear his confusion rather than make it worse. You had to. After all, people usually start to clear up what they said after you ask at least once or twice.
“Well you guys have no violence,” You reply so matter of factly. This still doesn’t help. Zedaph’s mild fear and confusion must’ve been evident as you continued with your explanation. “It’s rather simple really. I feed off of violence, in a crude description of it. And I could spark some conflict here rather easily, get my fill without having to leave. But I like you guys too much to just make you suffer so. That’s why I asked. Because if I did it, the conflict would be so much worse than what you guys would create.”
Zedaph was baffled and stumped. Okay that made sense yet didn’t all at the same time. Like yeah some people thrive off of drama, so violence could be similar-ish. He was just making excuses at this point. He really didn’t understand any of that.
“And you guys rarely make sacrifices as well,” you muse, not taking into account that you lost Zedaph literally ages ago.
“Excuse me did you say “sacrifices” because I must’ve heard wrong. Nobody really makes sacrifices in this day and age.” Zedaph was getting more unnerved with each new thing you mention. It’s like the more you talk, the worse everything gets.
“Yeah I said sacrifices. Gosh you’re so silly,” you giggle at his “ignorance”. “People still make sacrifices! You just aren’t in the right crowd when it happens, that’s all.”
“Okay and uuh,” his confusion blurs everything ever more. How could he nicely and politely state this? Is there a nice way to state or ask what in God’s name was going on? “What do they sacrifice, exactly?”
“You know, the usual things,” another answered in a manner that just screamed “you should know this man”. Like a teenager with their fads. “Like items and that jazz. Things that are deemed “important” or whatever. You know, the usual sacrifice stuff.”
“No, I have no clue why,” his irritation was becoming very apparent. “That’s why I was asking.”
“Oh well I’m no good at explaining this type of stuff,” you mutter, going deep into your thoughts. “You know what? I should get going. I don’t want to bother you much more.”
Zedaph sees you walk out a door and tries to stop you, yet you’re gone before he knows it. You just magically poof away the moment you’re out of sight. Wow you are just so darn fast. The awkward energy became too much? Or was it the explanation that chased you away? Did he pressure you too much?
Questions ran rampant in his mind after your interaction. He wanted answers for them, but he’d have to wait until he saw you again to ask.
______________________________________________________________
Many other odd events go on across the server. Each having one thing in common: you. You were in every interaction where something odd was mentioned or happened. After stories were traded about your interaction with each of them, it finally became too much to ignore. Yes, all of them had little quirks or be quirky in general, but this was excessive. Maybe it was just the style you did things, but they needed confirmation.
So they called together a meeting. One where everyone could hear what you had been up to and these anomalous events.
Around their little circle they went, each recounting your actions and the events that happened afterwards. With each person you became more peculiar, more of a figure to be gawked at. There were so many things and all so incredible.
Doc recounted how you were helping him with his redstone and in turn trying to learn the redstone Doc was doing. It was supposed to be a day-long-ish lesson for you two. Everything had gone well, quite normal, in fact.
You were rather studious, watching his actions slowly and taking all he did into memory. A few questions were brought up, which was also a normal thing. Redstone was a rather confusing subject. But then an odd question came out of practically nowhere. Nothing prompted it, as far as Doc was aware. Well, one thing could’ve but even then it was farfetched.
He had mentioned how he was a block or two short on what he needed. A block that’d fit the color scheme of the farm he had been working on. And you simply asked if he needed a block because you had one on you. He replied with a simple yes and that should’ve been the end of the interaction, besides the transition of said item.
Dropped into his unsuspecting hands was a block of bedrock. It was black and grey. Something that went with what he was building with. So he placed it down without much of a second thought. But when he tried to move it later on, he realized what had happened. Though how it all exactly happened was a mystery. How could you have gotten some bedrock?
When everybody at the meeting had shared what was going on, it was clear. Clear but not clear. It was like you had some powers. Admin powers, to be exact. But you weren’t an admin. Far from it. You had only recently joined the server. So that begged the question; how did you obtain those items and why were you reacting the way you were?
Your actions seemed to hold little to no regard for those you found “unimportant” but hyperfocused on those you did. Aloof was another way to describe your demeanor. An aloof person that held a regal air around them. Like nothing could touch them.
Their chatter was growing in volume the longer they were together. Arguing ensued over what could be going on. Was some mythical force at work? Were you some type of hybrid? A hybrid with powers they were unaware of? Were you a hacker? The possibilities were nearly endless but one thing was certain; you were not a normal hermit.
A loud cough broke through the cacophony of voices, effectively silencing them. Confusion soon took hold of the group. Wait, everyone was here though. And nobody in the circle did it. Right? It didn’t sound like any of them, at least. Another cough was released and almost every head in that circle whipped toward the direction the cough originated from. Their answer stood behind them, at the entrance.
You stood there, a confused look adorned your face along with a little head tilt. Why were you here? Did anybody invite you? They didn’t remember inviting you. At least the majority of them didn’t.
Scar quickly got out of his chair, walking over for a hug and some greetings. He thanked you for coming and gave you the unfortunate news that the meeting was coming to a close. Man he really told you the wrong time, huh? That was his bad.
You simper, shifting your view over to the remaining hermits. Grin widening, you give them a squinted smile and a little hand wave.
It was obvious now, didn’t need to be said. But it seemed Scar had invited you along as well. They really should have specified who needed to come to the meeting instead of “everyone” because- well this could work in their favor.
“So what’d I miss,” you ask, making your way over the hermits with Scar by your side. “Scar didn’t exactly tell me what this was all about. But he didn’t know either. Did you all miss some information when you were inviting people?”
They look between each other, trying to find someone with the courage to break the question to you. One of them had to do it, but which one of them would?
Finally a brave soul spoke up. It was their admin, Xisuma. Grateful couldn’t even describe how they felt when he started to talk to you.
“We’ve actually been meaning to ask you something,” Xisuma speaks in a measured and steady tone. One that gave away no weakness he might’ve been experiencing. Like anxiety or how awkward it was to even ask someone something about themselves. Something that would, in usual cases, be seen as an insult or something akin to that. A negative thing.
“Oh,” you play his game, humoring him and going along with the unspoken script. “What do you want to know?”
“It’s actually quite simple really,” Xisuma starts, but soon pauses again. A few false starts later and he’s back on his feet, metaphorically anyways. “This is going to sound very odd and quite possibly rude. But are you, um, are you a god, by chance?”
Silence came to suffocate the room after his question came out into the open. The air was tense with anxiety.
“Oh yea that,” you giggle. “Yea I am. So what?”
“I’m sorry, but did you say “so what”?” Xisuma wanted clarification because there was no way you just answered with that. “So what”? That was definitely an unexpected answer. Honestly they weren’t expecting too much or too much. It was hard to tell.
“Yes I did,” you speak your words slowly and methodically, checking the reactions of everyone in the room. Like a switch your words flow from a molasses like pace to water. “Look I’d absolutely love to get into this and talk with you all about this in depth, but it really isn’t a good idea. I haven’t had the best experiences with explaining this type of stuff with… well with beings like you.”
Everyone was giving each other looks, silently asking each other “is this really going on” or “Excuse me, what now”. Silence settles over the group again. You leave them some time to ponder over the news, but not enough for it to cause any trouble. At least that’s what you think.
You clap your hands and it echoes around the room, once again catching everyone’s attention. “Look like I said, I’d love to explain this all to you. This isn’t the best time though. So why don’t we just chill out? Talk to each other like the friends we are! You guys have cookies, right? Scar said you guys would have cookies.”

Polyhermits x reader fluff?
Reader can find conflicts difficult. Sometimes they can be good fun! It's nice to mess around, come up with ideas to get the other side back. But sometimes they just want to stay out of things and watch from the sidelines.
It's why it's nice there's so many hermits, because there's always ones that won't get involved. Zedaph becomes a good friend during those times, the pair bunking up and working late or watching movies. The hermits are also good about remembering who is and isn't involved in conflicts, and don't usually get people involved if they don't choose to be! It means Reader can hang out with whoever, knowing they aren't at risk of upsetting someone else.
Being the unintended target for a prank, though... That's always a risk. But, that's the same conflict or not!

TW: Teasing
A/N: I LOST THE ASK FOR THIS I AM SO SORRY!!!! Hope you can find and enjoy it! Sorry if it bad, trying to get back into writing.
Joining:
Being invited to Hermitcraft was something incredibly special. The server was filled with crazy talented builders, redstoners who casually broke the server, and tons of shenanigans.
So it was surprising to have received the DM from Mr. XisumaVoid himself, extending an invitation.
You weren't the worst builder by any means, and happened to dabble in redstone when it was fun, but this was a step up. Not one you could deny.
So you took the plunge through the familiar swirly purple portal and into the new server. The air was sweet, you noticed immediately, carrying a light and uplifting vibe. Your nose twitched in interest as your eyes adjusted to the light. It was also sunny. Your pawed feet sank into lush grass, and a small cart with what appeared to be starter tools stood nearby. Tall, impressive buildings punctuated the skyline. Each possessing a unique style and colour, yet somehow worked together in perfect unison.
Hermitcraft season 9.
Your ears swiveled as the sound of rockets neared, squinting up to the green blob nearing you. Excitment rushed through you- the man- the myth- the legend- Xisuma. Seeing him nearing solidified it. You were now a Hermit.
He lands a little ways off, elytra closing majestically, and you beat him to walking. Skittering over the gap to his side.
"Mr. XisumaVoid!" You greet energetically, a toothy grin and an outstretched clawed hand. "So cool to meet you face to face- the messages don't do your height justice." It's true, he stands much taller than you. You would almost consider him scary if it weren't for his cheery and wet cat demeanor. His chuckle reverberates through his helmet. He accepts your handshake, and his grip is firm, armor smooth and chilled where it touches your sensitive pawpads.
"A pleasure to meet you as well." Xisuma choses to reply, "Your messages make you seem taller." He tacks on cheekily. You gasp over dramatically, yanking your hand from his own.
"How could you say that??! So rude! I'm going to call you out to all your loving fans- see what they say then!!" You threaten, unable to contain your grin. He raises both hands in surrender, widening his tinted eye's behind his visor.
"I didn't mean it! Dont tell them- they cant know in secretly toxic!" The genuine (faked) panic in his tone breaks your character easily and you double over laughing. Tail lashing happily behind you. Xisuma joins in, giggling to himself pleased with the introduction. When you manage to recover, stifling your laughter, he gestures out wide with his arms.
"Welcome to Hermitcraft."
The Pranksters:
The tour was excellent, but now you couldn't wait to dig your hands into a project or-
Swiveling your head at the noise, your ears strained forwards. Whispering? Followed by frantic shushing?Creeping effortlessly forwards, you found around the corner, three figures crouching. Obviously you could recognize them. The red sweater and wings; Grian, the construction vest and hat with little vex wings and a pointed tail; Scar, and lastly a bright green shirt with gadgets galore and tossed brown hair; Iskall. Now what were they doing?
Silently picking across the ground, you manage to get just behind the trio. Tail twitching in anticipation, you watch a moment before deciding to play a prank of your own.
"What are we waiting for?" You stage whisper. All three of them leap, spinning around practically mid-air. Various exclamations fill the space before you start frantically shushing yourself. No need to ruin their surprise. They quiet down surprisingly fast.
"That was terrifying!" Scar stage whispers back, eyes wide and hat askew. You grin back at him.
"Who even are you?" Grian asks, raising an eyebrow to disappear under his mop of hair. Oh- right!
"The newbie." You decide to answer, "pleased to meet you. Now who are we waiting for?"
You get your answer- a panicked very British shout, and a message in chat;
MumboJumbo was killed by falling anvil.
The doctors:
When you had gone exploring- this was the last thing you had expected to find. A hoard of white lab coats. Well- Hermits wearing lab coats rather.
Doc, Zedaph, and Cub stand in a half circle, around a device. They speak in needlessly complex terms, and look all too professional. That could be changed, of course.
Sneaking along the shadows you move into seeing range of the device. A strange redstone contraption that appears to have been hooked up to a chicken. Poor bird was clueless, pecking at the dirt on the ground. You don't envy its fate. Deciding its been enough sneaking around, you slip out of shadows-
Doc's head snaps to you instantly, goat ears twitching. He seems to assess tensely for a moment before relaxing.
"Hey guys-" His thick accent gently interrupts the other two, they look to him attentively, "newbie." He gestures with a clawed thumb.
"Spot on." You nod, stepping silently towards the trio. "A pleasure to meet you all." You offer a toothy grin.
Zedaph grins back, bouncing towards you, sending his own goat ears flopping. His hooved feet click against the stone.
"Wonderful to meet you!" He exclaims, accepting a handshake and shaking a little too hard, too many times. His energy is infectious, and so you accept his other hand to shake them both in unison.
"You as well!" You chirp back through the movement, tail starting to wiggle depending on up or down.
"Alright- I better step in before you two end up doing that all day." Cubs even tone is strangely familiar, and almost eerie, but you don't think about it too long. Releasing Zed to accept his own handshake. One firm up and down. Boring but effective. "I would say I hope today hasn't been overwhelming- but you seem to have more than enough energy to match." He jokes dryly and you laugh. He's not wrong, being a raccoon has its perks.
"Why thank you." You place a hand in your chest dramatically, posing slightly.
"I fear the moment you meet Ren." Doc's rumble jolts you slightly, head turning to look at him directly.
"Whats that supposed to mean?" You cock your head, raising an eyebrow.
"Your energy will only multiply." He answers, offering you his own fluffy paw. His paw is much larger the your own, and you have to resist the urge to squish the beans. Maybe another time.
"Well I'm looking forwards to meeting Ren." You declare, puffing your chest and tail to try and look bigger.
"Void bless the sever." He chuckles, "and whoever is unfortunate enough to be nearby."
"Rude." You stick your tongue our at him, and he immediately reciprocates.
"Oo!" Zed's exclamation makes you look to him again, tongue still out. "I have an idea- you can help us!!" Excitement sparks.
"Sure what do I have to do?"
"Well see that chicken? I was thinking maybe if we used a player instead-"
