I adore birds so much, they are so pretty and such goofy lil creatures. I tried different types of texture brushes, tell me what you think looks best! I really love the budgie and red bird personally.

zebra finches!
these small birds form lifelong monogamous relationships. studies have found that both male and female same-sex bonds abound, even when there are plenty of opposite-sex finches available. they perch next to each other, sing, preen, and nuzzle each others' beaks, just like heterosexual birds!

A new study by Deakin researchers, published in Science, proves that traffic noise exposure in baby birds directly interferes with their development, which causes severe and long-lasting harm to those chicks. In previous studies, both baby birds and their parents were exposed to noise. This new study reveals for the first time that noise is detrimental to the young, even when the mother isn't exposed. Bird embryos develop outside the mother's body and can be artificially incubated, so it is possible to manipulate an embryo's experience without manipulating the mother.

My little zeeba finch, Bruce, is 8 years old this month! He's a smart, funny, vocal guy who enjoys nest-building, afternoon naps, and prefers the company of other male birds. His mate Walt sadly passed and it's been a challenge finding him a new partner, so he's currently paired up with Chickenbutt the male lavender waxbill who is okay being preening pals and snuggle buddies at naptime but is not himself gay.
