Spielen auf dem Holle-Rock Festival in Hessisch Lichtenau: The Djuks Am 20. und 21. September 2019 ist es soweit! Das Holle Rock Festival startet unter dem Motto: "No Minute Silence"! Das Festival wird von dem Verein Aktion Jugend e.V. in Kooperation mit der Jugendförderung Hessisch Lichtenau organisiert und veranstaltet. Die Aktion Jugend e.V. ist ein Verein aus Jugendlichen und jungen Erwachsenen, deren Ziel es ist, die Interessen der Jugendlichen um und aus Hessisch Lichtenau zu vertreten. Bestandteil der Aktion Jugend e.V. sind das Ferienspiel-Team, die Theken-Gruppe und die Backline-Gruppe. Diese Gruppe ist für die Organisation und Koordination unserer Veranstaltungen verantwortlich. Ein großer Teil des Teams für das Festival besteht aus der Backline-Gruppe. Während andere Halbstarke von der Elbe sich ihre Straßenpunkattitüde direkt in den Nietengürtel ritzen konnten, irrten die drei Jungs von Montreal noch im vorstädtischen Bermudadreieck zwischen Sportverein, Mofa-Gang und Schultheater umher. Zum Glück entdeckten die Nordlichter schnell die Musik als einzig akzeptable Freizeitbeschäftigung und ihr Ticket raus aus dem Elend zwischen Wodka-Sprite, Kunstlederjacken und Autoscooter-Pop. Im Jahr 2003 machten Yonas, Hirsch und Max Power schließlich die Band “Montreal” auf (“Band aufmachen”: Unwort der Jahre 1994-1998), zwei Jahre später erschien bereits ihr erstes Album “Alles auf schwarz”. Seitdem folgten knapp 700 Konzerte in 17 Ländern, unter anderem mit der Bloodhound Gang, Madsen, Slime, Royal Republic und Ignite. Bis heute halten sich die Gerüchte, dass irgendwann gar ein Videoclip der Band in der Rotation von VIVA und MTV landete. Beeindruckt von dieser musikalischen wie filmischen Höchstleistung senden die beschämten Sender seither nur noch billig produzierte Reality Soaps. Noch so ein Gerücht. Ihr bisher größtes Lob bekam Montreal einst von den Rocktitanen der Münchener Freiheit, die sagten: “Unsere Begeisterung hält sich sehr in Grenzen – nur unser Schlagzeuger Renny findet’s gut.” Und jeder weiß: Wer die Münchener Freiheit gegen sich hat, ist auf der richtigen Seite. Und Renny räumt den Magen auf. (Dieser Satz war leider keine Werbung) Im Jahr 2011 gründeten “Montreal” dann schließlich ihr eigenes Label “Amigo Records”, auf dem sie nicht nur ihre eigenen Platten rausbringen, sondern Kollegen wie “Das Pack” und “Anadrinksdogpiss” unterstützen. Anfang 2017 hat Montreal das sechste Studioalbum aufgenommen, das im Sommer erscheinen wird. Auf die Frage, ob Album Nummer sechs das persönlichste der Bandgeschichte ist und der Schreibprozess diesmal besonders intensiv und erleuchtend war, ob man vielleicht gar von einer Weiterentwicklung und/oder Neuerfindung von Montreal sprechen kann, orakelt Schlagzeuger und Medienprofi Max Power sich ein nebulöses “möglich” aus dem Bart. Gut gebrüllt! At Least I Tried Name und gleichzeitig Antwort auf so vieles, jedoch keineswegs auf den Sound dieser Band. Anfang 2018 gegründet, bedienen sich die vier Jungs aus Warburg (Ostwestfalen) mit ihren eigenen Songs am Gainesville Punkrock Genre. At Least I Tried sind: Marc – Guitar & Vocals, Ingo – Guitar & Vocals, Andre – Bass und Kai – Drums Rhinosaurs Rhinosaurs aus Marsberg ist eine außergewöhnliche Band, die ehrliche handgemachte Musik macht. So außergewöhnlich und ehrlich, dass es keine außergewöhnliche Gründungsstory um die Band gibt. Sie haben nicht mal eine Story erfunden! „Wir haben uns einfach getroffen und dann ging das los!“, sagt Picko. Für ihn begann im Jahr 2018, als er Rhinosaurs gründete, die Suche nach mehr als nur der Seele der Musik. Die Suche, die schon so viele Musiker vor ihm nach einem Besuch im „Club 27“ aufgegeben haben. Mit Jannis, Marcel und Kitto ist die Band seitdem komplett. Ihr Credo „More is all we need“ zieht sie immer wieder auf die Bühnen. Mit Elementen aus Post-Grunge, Stoner-Rock und Punk laden sie zum Feiern und Tanzen in ihren ganz eigenen Sphären ein. Ehrliche, handgemachte Musik, die mitfühlen lässt. Mit einem Gefühl von „My Way Home“ geht es bald los und ganz im Sinne von Altmeister Dave Grohl: „It’s not about being perfect, it’s not about sounding absolutely correct. It’s not about what goes on in a computer. It’s about what goes on in your heart and what goes on in your head“. Fo´Pak Herleitung von Fauxpas (Verstoß gegen die guten Umgangsformen), also ein subjektiver Fehltritt gegenüber unbeschriebenen Verhaltensregeln, bzw. unbeabsichtigtes Fehlverhalten im übertragenen Sinn! Tragik, Euphorie, Freiheit, Blasphemie, Musik, das Sein an sich. In Anbetracht der Gesamtsituation, welche freie Meinungsäußerung an explizite musikalische Untermalung knüpft und ohne Zeitdruck wächst, trifft es den Nagel auf den Kopf und weiteres Palaber um den heißen Brei erübrigt sich. Fünf Leute offenbaren ihren Zeitgeist impulsiv orientiert, an dem was ihnen an den Herzen liegt und definieren diesen Fauxpas in ihrem Ermessen! Hal Johnson Man sollte meinen, westfälische Kleinstädte haben nicht viel zu bieten, so ganz stimmt das allerdings nicht. 2015 formiert sich in Reckenfeld die Punkrockband Hal Johnson. Weg von Schützenfest und Stammtisch, rauf auf die Bühnen dieser Welt. – „Let’s celebrate, and drink, and die!“ Bereits fünf Monate nach Gründung der Band wird die erste EP „Broken Empire“ über No!Panic-Records veröffentlicht. Ein Zusammenspiel aus Euphorie und Melancholie, gefühlvoller Gesang begleitet von cleanen Gitarren trifft auf mitreißende Hooklines. Musikalisch zwischen Brandnew und den Flatliners einzuordnen. Im August 2017 fand man sich in den Ghost City Recording Studios zusammen, um zwei Songs aufzunehmen. Diese sind seit Mai diesen Jahres in Form einer Split EP auf allen gängigen Streaming Plattformen sowie auf CD über White Russian Records erhältlich. Zwei weitere Songs wurden von der niederländischen Band Screw Houston beigesteuert. Sturdy Man braucht viel Vorstellungsvermögen, wenn man sich in Kassels Innenstadt an die Strände der kalifornischen Küste träumen will. Oder man steigt in den Bus, fährt in ein naheliegendes Industriegebiet und hört Sturdy in ihrem Drecksloch von Proberaum beim Spielen zu. Die drei Jungs haben es seit 2011 auf eine EP („Nice Songs For Nice People) und ein Album (St. Urdy) gebracht. Ihre Songs haben sie auf über 100 Konzerten live dargeboten – so zum Beispiel auch auf ihrer Finnlandtour 2017. An dieser Stelle könnte man Namedropping betreiben und zum Beispiel erwähnen, dass Sturdy auch schon als Support für Acts wie The Baboon Show aufgetreten sind, aber so etwas wirkt albern, weswegen es nicht erwähnt wird. Auf ihrem kommenden Album “Messed Up”, das in Bälde erscheint, richten Sturdy den Blick nach innen – und widersetzen sich damit wieder einmal dem Zeitgeist. Zehn Songs, die mit dem Kind Kaputt Gitarristen Konstantin Cajkin aufgenommen worden sind, haben eine ordentliche Portion Emo abbekommen, trotzdem können und sollen die Punkwurzeln an keiner Stelle geleugnet werden. Wenn Sturdy auch mal in deiner Kneipe, deinem Wohnzimmer oder auf deinem Festival spielen sollen, schick ihnen eine Brieftaube in den Proberaum. Oder schreib eine Mail an [email protected] Schmuddelkatz Punks are dead, heißt es seit dem Ende der 80er. Grunge starb mit den 90ern! Das können auch ein paar ranzige T-Shirts, verklebt vom Bier, Schweiß und Blut des letzten Wochenendes, nicht mehr ändern! Oder etwa doch? Im tiefsten Ostwestfalen schlagen die Herzen von fünf Freunden eben genau für Bands wie Nirvana, Hole, oder The Distillers. Und zwar ausreichend genug, um sich in ranzigen T-Shirts, in verrauchten Kellerräumen zu treffen, sich Gitarren umzuhängen, Sticks und Mikros in die Pfoten zu nehmen und ihre ganz eigene Vision von Grunge-Punk auszuleben! Frontkatze Vivian gibt mit ihrem schmuddeligen Gefauche dem Ganzen noch einen melodiösen Wiedererkennungswert, um auch außerhalb der dörflichen Provinz an die Türen zukratzen und um Milch zu betteln! Punk ist tot, lang lebe Schmuddelkatz! Lowfield Das deutsche Indie Pop Duo LWFLD kommt aus Kassel. Seit ihrem Kennelernen im Jahr 2010 spielten Lenni und Justus unzählige Gigs, die nicht zuletzt ihr Songwriting und ihre Musikalität bestimmen. Ihre Musik ist unverwechselbar gekennzeichnet durch den zweistimmigen Gesang, bei der die Rolle des Hauptsängers nicht festgelegt ist und sich gerne auch mal im Song abwechselt. Treibende Rhytmen und interessante Harmonien runden den Sound von LWFLD ab. Live werden die Musiker von professionellen Musikern unterstützt. With the 2018-2019 NFL season finally here, a few key questions are left to be answered this season. According to SportsBusiness Journal, the NFL has seen its TV viewership fall the past two seasons, leaving the league scrambling to buck that trend. Many in the industry noted that they expect declines for a third consecutive year, noting that it is uncertain “as to whether there is anything the league can do to fix the issue.” From a change in delivery, going from traditional broadcast to OTT and streaming services, to “increased competition for screen time,” some of the industry’s top executives are predicting a yearly decline in the “5-7%” range stemming from a multitude of factors, particularly those previously listed. Apart from TV ratings, the league is still dealing with problems related to head trauma and player safety, while also trying to combat the decline in youth participation. Unrest at the top of its broadcast partner companies likely doesn’t help NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell slumber either – most recently the ouster of CBS Chairman Les Moonves on Sunday.

The meaty main course of college football’s opening week has come and gone and now it’s time for dessert – across the U.S., top teams are being treated to pricey cupcakes. According to USA Today, roughly $175 million will exchange hands between college football’s haves and have nots to fill out nonconference menus in 2018, mostly during the first few weeks of September. In Week 2 alone, Arkansas State collected $1.7 million to travel to Tuscaloosa for a beat down by Alabama, and Western Michigan pocketed $1.2 million from No. 21 Michigan (out of a total $4.6 million the Wolverines will give away during their nonconference schedule). But the cupcake revenue wars may well be won by Kent State, which will pocket $3.65 million in appearance fees via treks to Illinois, Penn State, and Ole Miss. The Oakland Raiders could be leaving the Bay Area sooner than expected. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the Oakland City Council has “authorized a multimillion-dollar antitrust lawsuit against the NFL and the Raiders over the team’s impending move to Las Vegas.” Team executives have already stated that they will not sign any future lease agreement at the aging Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum should the lawsuit be filed. The lawsuit “will likely seek millions of dollars in damages for the team’s exit” to Las Vegas; Oakland Councilman Noel Gallo noted that the lawsuit could result in up to $500 million in damages being paid out by the NFL and the Raiders. The franchise is currently under a year-to-year lease with the Coliseum Authority, but is in a temporary bind pending the construction of its new stadium in Nevada. One possible alternative to staying in Oakland any longer could be playing home games at the San Francisco 49ers’ Levi’s Stadium, though Owner Mark Davis “can’t stand Levi’s Stadium.” Regardless of where the Raiders play next year, Oakland fans no doubt wish one Raiders fixture still called the Bay Area home: star pass rusher Khalil Mack, just dealt to the Chicago Bears for $141 million.

Despite failing to break back into the NFL, former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is the new face of Nike’s 30th anniversary “Just Do It” campaign. According to the New York Times, Kaepernick recently signed a new, multiyear deal with Nike as his previous one, signed back in 2011, was about to expire. Instead of dropping him from the company payroll, Nike re-signed the former NFLer, made him the star of the new campaign, and donated money to his “Know Your Rights” campaign. Nike elected to do so as a way to give the politically-outspoken icon a “larger platform”; his message of standing up for what he believes in still resonates with athletes and fans all around the country. The first ad shows a close-up black and white photo of his face and reads: “Believes in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.” Since tweeting the photo on his account, the campaign has generated at least $43 million in free advertising for Nike. Research conducted by Edison Trends has also revealed that Nike’s online sales surged 31% Sunday-Tuesday – a noteworthy measure for any campaign.

A recent report from Nielsen boldly states that a fully mature U.S. sports gambling market could be worth as much as $2.3 billion to the NFL. According to ESPN.com, the report, commissioned by the American Gaming Association, assumes that following the Supreme Court’s decision to legalize sports betting in all 50 states, media rights fees, sponsorships by betting operators of teams, ancillary advertising, and the purchasing of official league data are all set to increase going forward. The report does not factor in “integrity fees,” where the league would receive a fixed percentage of the total amount bet on NFL games. The report projects that the annual purchasing of league data alone would contribute $30 million per year to the NFL’s top line. The AGA is not opposed to “the idea of betting operators purchasing the official league data,” but is opposed to the idea of operators being forced to do so. The sports gambling market is still in a state of infancy, with years to go until it fully matures, though the outlook is positive for the NFL here.

The Arizona Cardinals have a new naming rights sponsor: State Farm. According to SportsBusiness Journal, the Cardinals have signed State Farm to an 18-year deal, replacing the University of Phoenix as the stadium’s title sponsor. The value of State Farm’s new deal has not yet been disclosed, though the University of Phoenix was paying between $8-9 million per year since signing on in 2006. News of this deal comes less than a week after the Atlanta Hawks announced State Farm as their new naming rights partner, changing from Philips Arena to State Farm Arena for this coming season. The 20-year deal is reportedly worth $175 million over its lifetime, making it the fifth-largest naming rights deal in the NBA currently. “We think these give a far broader audience than we’ve ever had,” commented State Farm Exec Vice President and Chief Agency Sales & Marketing Officer Rand Harbert on the two deals. “In both cities, these will help us to connect, and not only fly the brand flag, but to do good.” Now, the 0-1 Cardinals need to win a few games before State Farm changes its mind.

A group from Seattle is set to present to the NFL’s executive committee next month regarding a potential expansion franchise. According to the Seattle Times, the meeting with take place on October 2, “and if the presentation meets approval, the full NHL BOG would vote in December in Florida on whether to award the city an expansion franchise.” If given a team, the ownership group would have to pay an expansion fee of $650 million before starting play. The ownership group, commonly known as NHL Seattle, comprises some of the area’s most successful businessmen, including MLS Sounders Owner Adrian Hanauer, Chris and Ted Ackerley — whose father was a longtime Sonics owner — Amazon Web Services CEO Andy Jassy, and BDA CEO Jay Deutsch. Boston Celtics minority Owner David Bonderman gives the potential franchise another touchpoint in professional sports, lending additional credibility to the group with the hope of impressing the executive committee next month.

Nashville’s MLS expansion team finally has concrete and approved plans to build a soccer-specific stadium. According to the Nashville Tennessean, it has been months in the making, but the city’s Metro Council gave “final approval to three ordinances and a resolution for a much-debated $275 million” stadium at the Fairgrounds Nashville, just south of downtown. The team’s MLS debut is set for 2020, with the stadium expected to be open by February 2021. The approval from the council now means that it can issue $225 million in “revenue improvement bonds for the stadium” — the ownership group, led by publishing magnate John Ingram, will pay $9 million per year over a 30-year period to repay the bonds. In addition to building the 27,500-seat stadium, construction plans call for a 10-acre mixed-use development with housing, retail, and a hotel built on the Fairgrounds site. Nashville over the last decade has developed quite the hipster reputation – an MLS franchise will only boost its appeal with millennials and their soccer-happy younger siblings.

David Beckham is one step closer to finally having his long-awaited MLS franchise in Miami after revealing the team’s name, colors, and crest. According to the Miami Herald, Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami is the official name of the expansion franchise, which still lacks a finalized stadium site to build on. The front and back pages of the Miami Herald were printed pink with the club’s logo in the center of the page, boldly announcing the team’s arrival. “This is such a proud day for myself and for the entire team,” team owner and president of operations David Beckham said. “It’s an honor to announce the new name and crest to our fans — we are taking another important step in establishing our Club and today marks an important moment in the history of Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami.” The team’s name is meant to pay homage to the diverse population that constitutes Miami and Southern Florida as a whole. Inter Miami CF, the club’s shortened name, is set to begin play in 2020. No doubt, the club will add to Miami’s long and colorful sports legacy, of which I have been proud to have played a part.

MOSCOW/LONDON (Reuters) – Russia’s Gazprom (GAZP.MM) suspended its external borrowing program earlier this year because of a deepening legal dispute with Ukraine’s Naftogaz over gas supplies, three banking sources told Reuters.

A London court in June froze the gas giant’s assets in Britain at the request of Naftogaz. The Ukrainian company was seeking to enforce an earlier arbitration ruling from Sweden that ordered Gazprom to pay it $2.6 billion.

The British verdict is likely to have spooked Western banks that traditionally work with Gazprom because it raises the opportunity that any new funds the company might raise via London could in addition be frozen, one of the sources said.

Gazprom is still able to raise funds on the Russian market, recently testing investors’ appetite with a 40 billion rouble bond ($630 million), yet the situation means it faces higher borrowing costs & prolonged regulatory uncertainty, the bankers say.

Gazprom, which is on the hook to repay $15.2 billion in external debt this year, had planned to start assembly investors to test their appetite for a potential sterling Eurobond in the middle of June, a Russian banker involved in that deal said.

However, the deal was canceled days before the British court’s June 18 announcement, the banker said.

He said that the decision was made as the relationship between Moscow & the West grew increasingly tense because of U.S. sanctions against Russian businessmen & a row over former spy Sergei Skripal’s assassination attempt on British soil. Russia has denied any involvement.

Two other London-based bankers said the decision to call off the Eurobond issue was in addition taken as Gazprom adopted a cautious stance ahead of the London ruling.

One of the sources, who all declined to be named because they were not authorized to speak on the matter, said that Gazprom had in addition planned to sell Eurobonds in euros & Japanese yen in the autumn, yet that those plans had stalled too.

Meanwhile, one of the banks that works with Gazprom put a loan for the Russian firm on hold until the situation around its finances in the West became clearer, the same source said. Gazprom declined to comment.

“As I understand it, settlements with foreign banks done via London are affected,” another banker said. A third source, citing a banker who works with Gazprom, said Gazprom had stopped making any payments through banks in Britain.

However, the London court’s ruling does not prevent the company from servicing outstanding debt, a lawyer familiar with the process said.

CHANGING TACK

Gazprom’s original plan had been to borrow 417 billion roubles ($6.57 billion) externally this year. It is currently building two new pipelines to southern Europe & China, & preparing to start construction of the Nord Stream 2 to Western Europe under a projected investment program of 1.3 trillion roubles this year.

Gazprom has a sufficient cash cushion to deal with its costs yet western financing is a cheaper alternative for the company, the bankers said. In March, prior to the London court ruling, Gazprom raised 750 million Swiss francs via a 5-year Eurobond where UBS (UBSG.S) was the only Western bank involved, & another 750 million euros in an 8-year Eurobond arranged by Deutsche Bank (DBKGn.DE) & JPMorgan (JPM.N) along with three Russian banks.

In May, Gazprom raised 600 million euros via a loan from Credit Agricole (CAGR.PA).
