This year we're celebrating the process of making pages... so below the cut I've got a bunch of pictures sharing how I go about making pages of my evil post-apocalyptic workplace sitcom, Cargo!! :D

So! My process!!
Writing-> I think sometimes there's pressure to "write" your comic a certain way, I see people talking about script format and stuff a lot. That really doesn't work for me, though! I write my "first draft" script in short scenes on scrap paper, in whatever order they come to me. Sometimes a scene will just be one or two lines, and then a little description of what I want to happen in the rest of the scene.

Later I type the scene up, and write the "connective tissue" that fits between the disjointed scenes so they all flow together like they ought. I don't do page breaks or even character tag or action notes hahahaha I like it to be as BASIC as POSSIBLE so it's easy to edit. And since I'm the person drawing it I can almost always remember who's supposed to be saying what lmao

I edit a lot, but the most major editing is also probably the last bit... when I letter my pages usually I realize "they would never say that" and so I end up rephrasing everything. My art brain is sometimes waaaaay better at phrasing hahaha. Like you can see in the finished page for this script I rewrote like basically all of it, and actually went back to the original "sketch" script in a lot of places.

Thumbnailing-> my thumbs are really big, I draw them with markers on printer paper and keep them in a binder!! I like to thumb scenes in batches and I also usually write my dialogue on them, just so I can read through them before (and while) I draw to get a feel for how the pacing works. :)

Sketching-> OH sketching is also really hard for me! I don't have a good visual imagination so it's really important for me to make sure I have good references. Last year I was especially focusing on setting.
My comic is set in Florida. I'm lucky in that I used to live there and still go back to visit sometimes, so sometimes I can gather my own reference images! But more often I start on Google Maps or Zillow, trying to find buildings that have interesting features or the right kind of "look" for what I want. I'll also look up other interesting elements, my comic is set in a post-apocalypse and I'll research home gardening and things like that which people would probably have.
For example, in this set in chapter 7, I used Google Maps images, photo references of indoor hydroponic gardening, and like, 90's-00's hacker computer setups haha. Also my BFF Roomstyler.com, where you can make 3d house interiors haha!!

Lineart-> I LOVE lineart it is my favorite!!!! I sketch and ink two pages at a time, and it usually takes somewhere between 10-12 hours to do both steps.
I actually think my art looks best when it's just lineart... but I think my STORY is better with color, like it makes it clearer and easier to read and it has a better atmosphere HAHA.
Colors-> I think it usually takes me 4-6 hours to do 2 pages (I haven't timed myself as consistently as I time my lineart and sketching). I have a big file with small copies of my previous pages that I color drop from, and my characters are all flats only. The limited palette that I use is also really handy, it streamlines coloring a LOT.

I put lots of overlay layers on my art! I like textures so having some strange little textures or pictures on things makes my art feel a lot more finished to me.

Her favourite artist is Taylor Swift, whom she calls Swiftdrey, because she's convinced by her voice that she's another Audrey. 😅 I LOVE MY META REASONING OKAY... Other than Swiftdrey, she tends to love cozy retro songs that can make her feel happy and want to dance, because she really needs that kind of serotonin in a post-apocalypse. That's also why she really loves a lot of Christmas songs as well. A few of the songs on her playlists are also songs that she discovered through people she's close to, so they're very sentimental to her (and she's a sentimental gal)
Oh! And special shoutout to her friend Bean's music! He's a singer-songwriter and Audrey Grace is his self-proclaimed number one fan. I don't have samples of his stuff but I imagine it's like Steven Universe vibes, Lemon you can correct me if you see this xP He made a mixtape for her once and it's one of her greatest secret treasures
What else...oh yeah, I know I linked a guitar playlist up there for her but don't be fooled, her main instrumental skill is in piano! I've never really thought too hard about what kind of piano music she likes though, so she probably likes everything. She always gets excited when she hears classical piano pieces. She started learning since she was very little. Guitar she only started learning in her late teens. She's also a kazoo master but I'm not sure if that qualifies haha

Leo looked around. He saw Mikey, still intact, he raced over and hugged his younger brother tight. Mikey was a little confused, but he felt Leo shaking as he cried and squeezed him a little tighter. A much bigger set of arms wrapped around them. They both look up and see Raph. Leo let's go and hugs Raph even tighter, whispering apologizes. They let go of each other, Raph wipes stray tears from Leo's face telling him it's not his fault. There was just one turtle missing, Donnie. Leo looked around for his twin, missing his stupid face.
"Leo?" Leo spins around, hearing the purple turtle's voice. Their eyes meet and Leo pulls him into a hug. Donnie wrapped his arms around Leo, his own tears falling. This time, though, Donnie was the one apologizing. Raph and Mikey joined them, each talking about what happened before they got wherever they were.
"We were sending Casey back in time to stop the Kraang. Mikey opened the portal and-" Leo choked out. "It's all my fault..."
"Boys?" All 4 boys turn, hearing your voice. You had heard a commotion and told Splinter you'd investigate. You saw older versions of your sons, holding each other.
"Mom!" They all say together, hugging you. You felt your shirt wetting with the tears of your sons. You led them to sit, Splinter joining you.
"What's going on?" You ask. "Are you okay?"
"My sons..." Splinter places his hands on Raph and Leo's faces, before moving to do the same to the other 2.
"You... You were dead..." Mikey sniffs. "I don't understand..."
"It seems like we travelled back in time." Donnie said. "All of us are from different points in the apocalypse. Raph is from before he died, I'm from before I died... 4 years later. Mikey is after I die, before sending Casey back... Leo is right after Mikey dies..."
"You 2 died really early in the apocalypse." Leo states, his prosthetic hissed as he rolled it forward. "You've been dead for 20 years..."
"I can't imagine what you boys went through."
The boys told you about the apocalypse. Rats were a constant menu item, Splinter responded with "we are quite tasty." Your heart broke for your boys. But you couldn't comfort them all at once.
Leo seemed to have the most demons, living through everyone's deaths, feeling guilty for the apocalypse, having to lead everyone. You went to him first, the others sharing stories with Splinter.
"Leo..." You gently rub your hand over his head to the back of his neck, tears coming to his eyes as he looks as you. "None of this is your fault, please know that. No one blames you."
"How? How do you know that?" He grits, nonexistent eyebrows drawn down. "How can't they hate me? I'm the one and only cause. I'm the reason all of you died. It should've been me!"
"You didn't know what was at stake, you were 16. That never should've been on your shoulders."
"But I failed... I failed you, I failed Raph, Donnie, Mikey, April, Casey, Cassandra, Dad... I am the reason for all of this."
"You didn't know what the key was. The only people at fault were the ones meant to protect it and those reckless enough to use it. You are not at fault. You need to forgive yourself."
"How...?" His voice cracks as he leans forward burying his head in your chest, like he did when he was upset as a child. Your thumbs rub the back of his neck and shell. You lean down and kiss the crown of his head softly.
"By letting go..."
You stay and soothed Leo for over an hour. He let out everything. All of his grief, anger, anxiety. He sobbed until he ran out of tears, but continued to cry as he clung desperately to your shirt as if it was the only thing keeping him alive. Soon, though, he fell asleep, all the sobbing exhausting him.
So you were on to your next subject, Raph. It would've been Mikey, but he and Donnie were still talking to their father, Raph had moved away.
"Raphael." You hum, pulling him close. He held you tight, a sad smile on his face. You kiss his forehead, his eyes closed as you did so.
"I'm so sorry, Mom..." He sighs, relaxing in your grasp. "I should've been there to protect you and Dad... To protect them."
"Raphael, you have done that and so much more." You answer.
"You died... They died... I should've done better. Should've helped Leo more, he wasn't ready for all of this."
"Neither were you. You were 17. This shouldn't have ever be your boys' burden."
"I wish you were with us..."
"I'm here now."
Raph pulled you into his arms, his massive stature made you seem like a doll, you're practically the same size as his torso. His arms held you tight, like if he let go, you'd disappear. But he let you go, knowing you had 2 other turtles to attend to.
Mikey came to you. Hugging you once again. His was softer. He wasn't riddled with as much guilt as his older brothers. He understood what would come and what had already passed.
"I missed you, Mom." Mikey gasped, pulling away to look at you. "I wonder what you would've looked like as a grandma."
"Angelo, you look so much older." You hold his face in your hands, he leans into them. "So much wiser... So much wiser than Splinter." Mikey laughs, tears coming to his eyes.
"I wish you could've seen baby Casey. How we all raised him together. All the stupid things we got into with him."
"I will. I have my boys. I will make sure of it."
Mikey kissed your palms before heading off to see Raph. For some reason you had a feeling you had to get to Donnie quickly, like you were running out of time.
"Donato!" You call. Donnie runs to you, picking you up in a hug. He sets you down and you run your thumbs under his eyes. "Oh... You look so tired..."
"I am." He breathes, his eyes falling closed. "I've worked so hard, Mom... And it means nothing..."
"Donatello, you saved your brothers and thousands of others from the Kraang. I would call that nothing."
"They why do they die? Why did you die? I'm not good enough..."
"You are everything to me, to Splinter, to your brothers. Donnie, you are a gift. Just like the other 3. I wouldn't change my life for anything. I'm sure the me in your timeline would agree."
He doesn't answer, tears slipping down his cheeks. He wasn't a crier, really he wasn't. He hated crying, he felt weak. Now though, it felt like a weight lifted off his shoulders. He felt calm again.
Splinter and his brothers soon joined you. You all gathered together, clinging like they were your lifeline.
After who knows how long, it was just you and Splinter, in an empty house.
"Mom! Dad! Guess what!?" You hear your boys come to the living room. Your very alive, still young, sons.

I was reading the latest posts on the prologue update and am just laughing about how much the apocalypse must've rocked the MC. It's finals week. The MC is pulling a last minute Literature essay out of their ass, waiting for a spotify ad to finish, when BOOM. The library just blows up for seemingly no reason. No more essay, no more finals tests, only tentacle space people.
How would the ROs react to a selfless MC who constantly tries to save everyone even as their own injuries pile up? It does not matter who it is, the MC will try to save them no matter what.

Okay, so related to that one post abt somebody with plant powers not really being able to control ibara, how DO you think she sees the world?? Like to be honest i live your interpretation of her quirk and could read a whole book on it. You said it was kinda translated right? so how would she expreince her senses then??
Haha, thats a really good question! Ive actually been reading a book on plant perception lately (What A Plant Knows, by Daniel Chamovitz) so while i cant say i definitely know everything, its helped put things into perspective. also for the sake of Not Being Buzzkills obviously horikoshi didnt think abt this its just hc im using canon to supplement and draw conclusions dont be silly
also um. im putting this under a cut because it really is a book's worth of meta. i got really excited.
But i think, from how we see Ibara, a large part of it is going to be filtered through religious experiences+delusions. It already seems like how she talks and understands thing is subconsciously put through this filter (i dont think shes calling shishida "apocalypse beast" out of spite or to be inflammatory-- there is religious theory that the beast of gevaudan may have been god-sent, albeit this theory is rare and far from widely accepted. Ibara doesnt seem to follow any specific doctrine, though, and i really think parts of it are just kinda her brain drawing connections in line with her deeply personal beliefs as opposed to dogma. To her it may just be that she believes theyre saying the same thing in essence, while he does not)
But on the topic of sensory experiences specifically, I would also say that Ibara is experiencing exponentially higher levels of sensory input than most people, so i cant blame her for being a space cadet. And while the fainting is an anime-only gag presumably to show her delicate sensibilities or whatever i personally am choosing to interpret it as an incredibly reasonable consequence of her brain hitting the limit. Like cut the cameras im OUT!!! It's documented frequently in the history of religious ecstasy and other spiritual experiences, so adding an assload of input i can imagine only heightens your chance.
And so onto your question about how that manifests-- its hard to say! But i have a few ideas.
Firstly, i think we should address what the plant is perceiving, and how. In a base function, we can say that they respond to stimuli in certain forms (light, sound, smell, balance, touch, etc) which loosely correlates with our own senses. They differ in the organs used, though, but Ibara having a centralized animal brain both simplifies and complicates it.
Plants don't "see" pictures-- they have sensory cells dedicated to seeing both light and different wavelengths of light (which helps control their circadian cycle and even flowing schedule! Even a small disruption of flashing a certain color light during the night can allow farmers to delay or change when certain plants flower), but these arent rods and cones connected to an optical nerve connected to a brain. But at the same time, they... ARE connected to a brain.
I think for Ibara, plant sight is like a murky, back-of the mind addition to her normal range of vision. It's not a picture the same way her Eyes work, but she knows intuitively theres light, shadow, and colors around her, and can focus in on it a little more if she tries. Details and motion that doesn't block light wouldnt be part of it-- the plant can only see what blocks light covering it or reflects light onto it. Ever-periphery flashes of shadowy shapes and colors. (and conversely: i think the prayer pose, with eyes closed and hands clasped makes it easier to focus on the information filtering through)
sound is also different-- while the studies about plant growth and music are bunk, plants do react to sound. the mechanics of it are still heavily under-explored, but we know they do, just so long as its sound that may be relevant to a plant, like running water or insects chewing. I don't think Ibara could do what Hawks does-- where he can focus in on sounds through his wings and hear conversations. The vines aren't a dedicated sensory organ, they just communicate signals back that are of relevance. She may KNOW there's sound somewhere, but it's background noise until it's something that triggers a response. The question is really what would be deemed important enough to do so.
See, the thing with plants is that they don't have emotions, or even a centralized brain, as we've established. Animals can and do. humans especially. Things deemed important by a person can be important for a variety of reasons, beyond just survival. While Ibara uses the vines as an extension of her limbs, it doesn't change the built in systems of stimuli response the plant has, but the plant isn't a brain in the sense that it will decide anything. So the question of What Ibara Hears from the plant is an interesting one. Personally, I don't think she hears the sounds "as is". Ibara doesn't HEAR insects chewing, because the cells are communicating a stimulus and response, so it would be an interpretation of the response. Sort of a plato's cave issue-- I think ibara may say she "hears omens of danger" or "tidings of great joy", but it's not like she's being told a Coherent Thought By The Vines. it's sound of water = good = we are safe and can find safety + an avidly catholic teenager = the angels bring tidings of joy. it's thing she "hears" but doesnt hear because its never actually touching her own aural organs or nerves. She may not be able to pinpoint what the sound itself is, just what it evokes or what her brain fills the gap in as, like talking.
Taste and smell are both something plants do, but defined slightly differently, as we associate these things with specific nerves in the human body that plants Dont Have. to define it the way my book does, we're going to say "taste is the reception of chemical signals through touch" and "smell is the reception of chemical signals dispersed through the air". and plants do taste, and taste one another-- many parasitic plants show preference for certain species, like the dodder vine. other vines, especially those that climb, will avoid climbing their own species because they know that the support is unstable. this is something they figure out by the chemicals they release onto their surface. This is something that would really be tightened up by ibara having an actual real world plant on her head but trust me trying to find anything that matches is a mess. more on that in a bit. but we know, in theory, she can "taste" other plants, and maybe even other type of similar compounds through these vines, which i think would then also manifest in at least a vague idea of a taste in her mouth-- once again, platos cave of sensation, although honestly its probably a bit more in line with what the actual thing would taste like. (tomatoes, for example). this taste may also correlate with a signal that associates emotionally, but ill touch on that in the pain part of this.
Smell is similar- once again, just detected through the air instead of touch. (The smell of cut grass? An airborne danger signal. Ibara probably can't stand being around freshly-cut lawns, it must feel like a giant panic attack. How this would manifest? Not sure! The smell of blood? As a sound instead? It's hard to say what could compare to the scope of fear that kind of flood would cause). I won't go into depth since it's the same as above, but I would also like to add carbon dioxide as a mention. Plants can detect levels of CO2 (and it can decide how they photosynthesize!) in the air, and I think because for Ibara, photosynthesis has to be accelerated (due to the faster growth and usage of energy being more akin to that of an animal instead of a plant) and she and the plant share an exchange of signals and nutrients.
I'm going to diverge briefly into the realm of digestion and nutrition. Firstly because I love it. Secondly because it will circle back to our carbon dioxide talk.
Ibara's vines are, as we see, leafless. This is quite relevant. Leaves, as most people know, are responsible for the majority of photosynthesis. While chlorophyll in any parts of the plant can photosynthesize, leaves are by far the most effective way thanks to the broad surface area and certain specializations. Leafless plants (especially in the case of vines) tend to be parasitic. Plants that evolve photosynthetically-inefficient leaves tend to be carnivorous, which I would like to explore a little.
A plant is defined as carnivorous if, typically, it shows a form majorly inclined towards having prey-trapping mechanisms, and receives a substantial amount of nutrition from doing so. They tend to grow in areas that have high sunlight and water levels, but with incredibly nutritionally deficient soil. Nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorous, and proteins, which are found in meat (bugs included)
Now, Ibara's vines don't have visible roots, so I think it's safe to assume the root system is within her body, and goes deep below the surface. Water, nutrients, and neurological signals all need to be shared; and so I think her entire body is connected to this root system. Ergo, all the nutrition the plant gets that isn't photosynthesized comes from what Ibara digests-- which is also why I don't personally subscribe to the vegan or vegetarian Ibara headcanon-- because nitrogen and phosphorous are INTEGRAL to stem growth, and baby, she's all stem. In fact, I think she probably loves meat-- second only to bread, which provides long-term energy in the form of complex sugars. I personally think Ibara would dislike sweets in the traditional sense of candy and desserts outside of winter-induced cravings from a drop in photosynthesis, but that would be because the sugars her vines produce for her already maintain a decent level of homeostasis, so it would cause her blood sugar to spike and make her feel ill. Conversely, bread breaks down and is stored much more long term, so it would both benefit her and the plant, which is inefficient at photosynthesis compared to a plant of the same size with leaves, and would need a boost given how much energy it uses to grow, detach, and move.
I know this girl can put away a MEALLLL after training. Yaomomo style.
I think you could argue Ibara (and her quirk) qualifies as a carnivorous plant. Her vines lack leaves and instead have developed extensive thorns (which can be a type of modified stem-- its complicated and varies plant to plant), and we never see them branch off of each other, so they may not even be capable of developing stems. She also doesn't appear to have any flowering mechanism (nor does she need one!), although I will say I'm a sucker for the idea of Ibara having psuedo-blossoms that aren't functional flowers, but rather an indicator of health. Either way, the heavy focus on the vines for strength, complex movement, and grasping through pointed extrusions makes me think you could convincingly argue that they are the "trapping mechanism", which is a requirement for carnivorous plants.
So, once again, we've established that there's a complex nutrient exchange both from Ibara to the vines, but from the vines to Ibara. And because of this, I think there's an added level of complexity to her digestive system-- specifically regarding the stomach's direct connection to the brain. Just like her own nutritional needs can trigger certain responses like in any person, but the plant probably has the same access to these hormone signals. Things like craving sugar and being irritable in winter because of the inability to produce her own as much, but also conversely, I think the plant can trigger a digestive response to prepare for the influx of sugar being photosynthesized. A "heads up, we're about to start sending this your way" to help maintain proper levels.
So, back to carbon dioxide finally. When plants detect higher carbon dioxide levels in the air, they may photosynthesize more. This may result, in my opinion, to "phantom smells" and a trigger to the digestive system, resembling how our own mouth waters when we smell food. Whether it's just an ambiguous food smell or one specifically (maybe bread?) to Ibara I'm not sure, but what I'm saying is that if Bakugou's explosions over the course of an hour can produce about the same amount of carbon dioxide as an entire person throughout one day, she probably thinks he smells fucking delicious and for no reason why. It's funny to me.
Ok! On to touch. I think it's obvious that Ibara's vines react to touch and that's transmitted to her, given how she knows that she's found someone and is pulling them out in JTA. Plants definitely can feel touch, and respond, but I'd like to note that plants can't feel pain. They don't have the ability to feel pain. They can react to adverse touch, certainly-- for example, grass releasing their smell when cut, but they don't feel pain. It's solely for survival, and feeling pain isn't really important for a relatively stationary being. Nor do they really have the factor of emotional association with pain that typically is bundled together. But in the case of Ibara; who, once again, has the burden of the complex mammalian brain... maybe she does feel pain, even if it's not "real"! It likely has to do with whether she has the expectation of and emotional association of fear/pain/etc, so simply cutting away the vines aren't likely to make her hurt. But I don't think phantom pain is out of the question, especially for someone already as high-strung as Ibara and who has so many wires crossing at so many times because of the nuance of the signals transmitted from cell to cell.
And related to touch... a fascinating and storied study in plants includes gravitropism and proprioception, or-- balance and how they know what's up and what's down! People have incredibly complex proprioception systems (most people know about the inner ear, but it goes far deeper than that!), and plants, too, make use of this ability. In fact, it's integral for plant growth.
Plants have two main mechanisms for gravity sensing. The root caps, and then in the stems, the endodermis (which is also responsible for osmosis in cells, sorta) both have genes that develop statoliths, similar to the otoliths we have in the inner ear. These statoliths tell the plant which way gravity is pulling. The root caps make roots grow down, the endodermis makes the shoots grow up.
I think for Ibara, her vines have become an extension of her own balance and ability to know where she is in space. Losing all of them suddenly would result in something similar to a damaged ACL-- having to readjust and being wobbly for a while. Not only that, but I think quirks that impact someone's sense of balance would seriously waste Ibara. While Ibara does move her vines in more ways than up and down, the ability to tell what's what still relies on the individual cells in the stems and roots. While Ibara would still be able to produce the growth hormone and self-amputating mechanisms that detach her vines (i have to look more into this, honestly-- autotomy has only been recorded in one type of plant, and even with abscission ibara's vines dont follow typical patterns. smh my head.), there would be little if any control over the movement, especially if the balance reduction hits the endodermis in more ways than one, because that would impair the hydrolic movement that causes movement in plants.... Either way, Ibara's quirk would be rendered functionally useless. Deidoro Sakaki has this one. And in my opinion, with Uraraka's quirk, they would grow, but wouldn't show proper gravitropic bending, and so may also be impaired in their ability to perform actions.
And I think a complete removal of Ibara's vines would honestly feel like... overwhelmingly suffocating? Imagine having so much of the senses you're used to having cut off, it's probably incredibly jarring and upsetting. I don't think she would prefer it to the every day life she lives, because it seems like she's generally not that impeded by her own world view and strict standards, even if others oppose it (OCD queen lets go #1).
So...as a TLDR; I think Ibara experiences normal human sensory input, she just has another layer that bleeds into it. While I often refer to the plant separately in the above, that's solely for clarity of biological mechanic explanations-- they're one and the same, the same way we started reproducing mitochondria despite their likely beginning as a different organism. She may see things that aren't there (like in the case of warning signals from other plants, or in her mental translation of all sorts of things), "hear" things in her mind, smell or taste or even feel pain... while the mechanics aren't the "real" ones we associate with the senses in question, she's still reacting to stimuli she is receiving, and I think she's learned to adapt to it. It's hard to explain, because it almost has a sort of eldritch feel... but really, Ibara is Ibara, she's a bit stubborn and translates everything into her world view, and so that determinative personality probably helps streamline the constant influx of information. Angels, music, emotions, memories-- those are things she assigns to the experiences, but they are no less validated by the biological machinations behind them. Human survival also relies on our ability to feel and the more complex machinations of the brain, the social advantages of more refined expressions and speech, and Ibara's just as human as her classmates, and her quirk ultimately is another part of that, even if we know the individual cells of the plant are without that same neurological function.

Sometimes I feel like a character like Pen has almost too much potential for a game like mtas. There is only so much you can do with him in that setting otherwise they game might get too complicated. Although I'd love a game in the my time universe as complex as bg3 i doubt that will ever be a thing. But Pen would have been perfect for such a game.

I feel you on this, tbh. I've seen a lot of characters be 'too big' for whatever story/media they were in and not given the proper attention they should have had.
However, I do think because of that, it had spawned some amazing things from within the community. Potential and imagination go hand in hand so well! So even if Pathea drops the ball down the line, at least there's that.
What I love about the My Time series is it kind of gives me that same vibe that Adventure Time initially did. Colorful, silly, never taking itself too seriously - but there's still a serious plot going on and still serious things with the characters. Pathea doesn't lean into that seriousness or horror elements like the show did, but it could certainly stand to do so at any time and it wouldn't feel strange, imo.
We already have strong talking points in the series. Humanity's history (war, technological growth, fallout), artificial intelligence, the apocalypse and what it did to humanity and everything else that got mutated from it, nonhuman sentient species (both as enemies and those we think to be enemies, like Geeglers). The Church of Light usually is where most of the seriousness surrounds, due to why it was established and their beliefs revolving around the fear of history repeating itself if humanity is left unchecked.
Then on a character level, we get serious themes like with Gust and Ginger. Or, of course, Pen. To bring it back to the main topic, haha. But I can see if Pathea wanted to add a little more seriousness to their games as the series progresses, it would work just fine and they wouldn't lose anything. All the ingredients are there and I didn't even list them all.
I fully agree that Pen's potential is more than what MTaS could allow for, which is sad. And it's also why I would have loved a DLC/expansion for Sandrock to continue with him. But I also understand he's being reserved for a future installment, which is also exciting. I hope by the time he returns to the series, they have figured out a way to maximize his potential better. It may not be in full, but I'm hoping the reception (both players that adore him and players that don't) is all taken into account for him and his development.
And yes. I would LOSE IT to have a My Time game with BG3 levels of detail. Pen would be so incredible in that type of game. The character who joins the party, you roll your eyes at his one-liners in combat and don't take him seriousness until sometimes arises that makes you reevaluate him in your party. Then you realize you don't actually know the guy. He's just loud when others are looking his way but somehow oddly quiet and to himself when it comes to sharing anything of depth. It would be so cool to unravel the mystery of Pen is that type of game.
Also in a My Time game. The good news is, Pathea does learn from their games and audience feedback. It may not be perfect, ofc, but I'm hoping that continues to track and they take Pen more seriously as a character. I hope 'fans not being disappointed' isn't for fans who hate him and want Logan (and Howlett) avenged - but for people who like his character already.
Which I think is an important thing. People who like his character already. It's something to keep in mind if you're someone/a team that relies on the audience's opinions or alters content based on audience opinion. To be fair, I love it half the time. Cause at the same time, when it's not evenly fair across the board it's not the greatest feeling for fans that are left out.
But man, now you really go me thinking of Pen in a BG3 style game.

After that small interaction you think that’d be the last time but to your surprise, he passes by your little rut few times in the week. He never talks to you but he definitely stares, probably due to how you look. You arent the prettiest in the bunch due to your appearance, making you want to sob, youve always been easy to upset. He must think you’re disgusting. Your cries are silent at first as he passes by following some route, you tend to find some nearby water source nearly vomiting at your own mind’s thoughts about you.
Undressing from the torn but still the only piece of clothing you had left, and well had memories attached to it. Youre on display for anyone to see, cleaning yourself desperately trying to scrub off something that was never there in the beginning. A tut can be heard behind you as your eyes shoot open, covering yourself with your hands, almost falling in the rush of adrenaline tensing your muscles. There he was, that strange man that stared and left you here and now again, you felt a scream trying to claw out of your throat but you decided it would be better to not be found by infected due to your cry. However, tears were falling unbeknownst to you as you look pitfully at the larger man.
Your hands gripping onto your skin and covering where it mattered most you shake as your small voice comes out, “Please, dont hurt me.”
He could only hold back a small bit of his chuckle before bursting out, holding his head with his hand as he looks at you with the most sincere eyes, but clearly malice behind them. Like he had done things, horrible things to people, like he had a darkness. Goosebumps vober your body as you squeeze your thighs together, his laugh was like none else.
You liked that he stared just as he did before, but you could tell with your body clean he didnt look at you with a judging stare, more like hungry. You would be lying if you could say you never looked at him like that, mostly because you really were starving but there was another pool of hunger in your stomach that seemed to grow under his gaze everytime.
“Such a pretty lil thing out here on her lonesome, dont ya think I should take ya with me, girlie?” You never wanted to scream yes so loud before, but obviously you realized the meaning behind his words.
To be used in trade for sustenance, of course he needed a flaw, a very fucking horrible one. You stumble as you try to get away, if you went any faster he could hurt you or worse, take what he wanted right now. You grab the worn sun dress, almost tearing as you rushed to put it on, you needed to get out of here now.
“Th-Thank you for the offer, I’d just be a burden, haha…” You pleaded to whatever higher power that would be merciful to you, you started speeding away with the adrenaline pumping making you slightly trip. You nearly scream as you take a look behind you realizing he’s gaining on you, ‘just fuck off’ you cry. He snares his teeth at your harsh words, understanding that you probably didnt pick the best words to throw at the much stronger looking man.
“You tryna run from me, sweet thing? How dumb can you possibly be? You really want to be punished huh, sweetheart” You accidentally let out a groan you wanted to suppress, his words hit you deep, he said all the right things however he was chasing you and you didn’t exactly find yourself in a situation where you wanted to be used in order to not starve to death.
He chuckes darkly at your groan as you fall onto the ground due to not paying attention in front of you, you fall like a clumsy slut your legs spread and your chest against the damp forest floor. You feel tears streaming down your cheeks as you try your hardest to get up as fast as you can but to your dismay you feel large fingers wrap around your ankle as you're pulled back.
“N-Nononono..NO PLEASE!” You shout, he instantly covers your mouth with one firm grip of his other hand, he growls filling you with heat “You tryna get us fucking killed, stupid bitch?!” His punishing hand lands on your exposed skin, the curve of your ass as you feel your body jolt in excitement but you begin sobbing in his hand, falling against him as if he were going to comfort you.
Huge tears falling from your puffy eyes and your lips feeling as though they were drawing in the scent of him, his hand rough and calloused your thoughts run wild as you act without reason. Relaxed but sobbing into him you have the sudden urge to lick the calloused skin, he groans and ruts his hips against your back. You muffle a small ‘sorry’ hoping he would take pity on you, it only fuels him more, the sound of your cries making his pulsing cock unbelievably hard as he controls himself from just splitting you apart on his fat cock.
He imagines the types of wails and cries you’d let out as he fucks into you, he feels your hands reach up onto his forearms, laughing at the way your small hands barley fit around his arms shaking against him. Your sun dress brought up on your ass as you try to squirm away only making the male let out muted moans, you were practically grinding against him like a typical slut. Tears fall down your cheeks again, you begin pleading even though the heat between your legs grows as you feel the outline of his cock bump against your ass.

Hello again, sorry for sending another message so soon after my previous one, but rereading your reply to my ask gave me two new mental images I figured I would share with you before the storm we are supposed to get where I live rolls in, assuming it does.
Idea one is, and this is partly born out of me being a fan of react fics, how do you think the Valkyries would react to a child or teenage reader from a post-apocalypse world like Fallout? For example, they summon the reader to them, only to see the tiny form of a child clad in makeshift armor, a revolver in their hands and a slightly mutated dog standing at their side.
How would they react to the countless scars that line their body, from laser and bullet and bade and claw and fang?
Be they mature or young, the readers body is a macabre piece of gruesome art, the scars telling the tale of their desperation to survive amidst a world that is in its final throes.
How would they react to the reader not knowing just what green grass is, let alone what unpolluted and un-irradiated water is?
Their stories of the dead and dying world, and of their desperate struggles to find not only semi-safe drinking sources, but also the medicine to contend with the radiation present in those sources of water, making many hide their tears.
How would they react to the tales of slavers and raider, of mutants and other horrors that roam the wastes, to the tales of nightmarish beasts and close calls with said beasts that nearly denied them this fated meeting?
And how would they react to the holotapes the reader brings with them that shed yet further light on the stygian world they come from, said holotapes being from the Storyteller series by Shoddycast.
The second one is a bit more self indulgent, but imagine that just as the Valkyries are protective of the reader, the reader is likewise protective of them because these girls have been through enough and they are not letting anyone talk down to them.
The example in question being the Genshin acolytes talking down about the Valkyries, only for the reader to come out of nowhere and just starts tearing into them both physically and verbally while everyone else watches in stunned silence.
In addition to this, the reader and the Valkyries are basically a giant found family and tend to act like one, much to the acolytes confusion. They are also fond collapsing in cuddle piles because dammit these girls deserve pampering and love.
Again, sorry for the word salad, I am half asleep at the moment lol. But I am supposed to be due a storm tomorrow and I figured I would send this in case it is bad enough I can not get on my computer tomorrow. I have a few more things to do, then I am calling it for tonight, stay safe and take care.

I'm not too big of a fallout fan and know next to nothing about the game except for that one reference in Henry Stickmin but I could definitely comment based on your descriptions.
I'd assume that the valkyries wouldn't really react much to a reader from an apocalyptic world since the world of Honkai itself is a post-apocalyptic world. (Now, there may be spoilers if you haven't gotten too far in the story yet but) Mei, herself, meets a character that's basically wrapped in bandages and injuries from head-to-toe and doesn't react very much to the injuries because she's used to it. The valkyries themselves make it look easy but honkai creatures are no joke and have caused many to die - hence why organisations like Schicksal and Anti-Entropy were formed in the first place.
I'm pretty sure that people can also turn into zombies because of Honkai too so the girls are plenty experienced when it comes to apocalypses (let's not even mention Otto himself).
They might not be able to show Reader any sights like green grass if Reader is summoned around the endgame time but they have gone through hardships too and would be able to help Reader cope through their trauma. Definitely will be a whole lot of cuddles too.
As for your second idea, I love it! Just so many cuddles all around along with a fluffy and warm vibe that the poor girls deserve after so much anguish and heartache.

I’m back ;) I’m the anon who loved your x-men apocalypse animation especially. Really enjoyed your latest one as well! Gorgeous animation - loved the Jean Grey/Phoenix animation! The tiktok of Erik imagining/sitting down and taking to Peter is also a fave of mine - it did make me sad about the lack of Evan Peters - Michael Fassbender/ Magneto - Quicksilver scenes in the movies. Their dynamic could have been so great!
Yes, Dark Phoenix was a real mess. I do still absolutely adore the space scene though - it looks amazing and seeing the x-mens’ powers work together is just everything. Wish there was a lot more of that across basically all the film tbh. Loved seeing Quicksilver’s abilities in zero g! But despite how much I love that scene I can’t say that the movie is good. Honestly the frequent and unnecessarily large time skips generally bothers me - they robbed us of seeing the characters develop. I also can’t believe that Peter wouldn’t tell Erik for almost 10 years after the apocalypse incident.
I did try to brain storm a few ways of Erik finding out about Peter that could potentially be dramatically/visually interesting? One of my ideas was that for some reason, maybe due to Erik seeing red due to grief of losing Raven, Erik is wreaking absolute havoc and is trying to kill Jean. But the x-men have some sort of plan or just needs to freeze Erik so they can then stop Jean without killing her. And the scene would be Peter using his speed to try to get the helmet off Erik so that Charles could communicate with/or freeze Erik. And then because of Erik’s vast power he would be able to stop Peter in his tracks (similar to Jean in the film) and there would be a scene (similar to your animation) of him “grabbing” Peter in the air - throwing him up against the wall of the train(possibly?) to stop him, angry and pissed off and there would be this moment of Peter bracing himself genuinely worried he’s about to be killed - and Charles or someone else would panicked about what Erik might be about to do as he is blinded by anger - yell out the fact that Peter is his son. Perhaps for a second Erik would see Nina in place of Peter for a brief second as he recognises the familiar resemblance (as he is staring at another child of his in danger). And then of course he wouldn’t hurt him but instead freeze due to shock. What do you think? Too much? A scenario like this would kinda only work if the time skip is much shorter - maybe just a year. I quite like fics that address the fact that Peter is probably on some level afraid of Erik when he goes full Magneto. I like the scene when Peter claims to not fear him to his mother (which imho reveals that he in fact actually does). I think it adds an interesting layer to Peter’s feelings about telling him. I don’t think Erik would kill him - even if no one revealed their familial relationship - but that uncertainty in such a scene could kinda be dramatically interesting I think? I dunno, sorry if I’m rambling - I just quite like discussing alternative scenarios with other fans :) and wanted to hear your thoughts.

And aww thank you! I loved working on the Oleander animatic! The Phoenix was especially fun to animate, and of course the hug made all the hard work worth it haha. And awww yes! I love that edit too, it uses an audio from Gotham Knights where Batman is talking about Nightwing and how proud he is of him. As soon as I heard it I knew it would fit really well with a good timeline Dadneto, and I was definitely inspired by my fic The Hardest Part Is Leaving You which I had finished not long before making that edit!
Oh yeah, the effects in Dark Phoenix are actually pretty solid (at least most of the effects surrounding Jean and the Phoenix at least). Would have loved to see more of the X-Men as an actual team as well, but alas, the writers have robbed us of that yet again 😭 Guess that's what we're here for lol.
And OOOH Anon I love that idea! Definitely not too much, I think that's a great mix of angsty and intense but also heartfelt! And yes, a shorter timeskip between Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix is always appreciated haha. That's such a fair point about Peter being afraid of Erik when he's in 'Magneto' mode too. Usually I write them post reveal so I mostly play around with the concept of what their relationship is like after many years of bonding and trust has been built, which means Peter is rarely if ever scared for himself, but more likely scared of what Erik could do to others in the case Peter ever got hurt. Younger Peter would definitely struggle with that though I bet!

Project 6 - Idea Developement (PITCH)
Bad Omens Album Narrative
Like I said in my previous post, I will explore my main ideas through a fictional scenario using the band Bad Omens as an example; or kind of a case study; of what I have in mind. Both of my ideas are ideas to improve or innovate things that already exist in the market, like live shows, immersive experiences and brand activations, but I want to redirect the way they have been made and used until now; the goal is to upgrade those experiences and create a new way for artists (and brands) to implement marketing strategies, promote their music and create engagement with the fans.
So for me to make this pitch/example, I have to set the background of what the band has been doing with it´s current album and live shows.
The band has created a whole apocalyptic narrative around the album, not only are the songs and music videos following this narrative and aesthetic, but this is also implemented during their live shows. I will show some examples below.

The band even dresses as characters of this fictional world, like some kind of soldiers or gangsters for the apocalypse; they even created like some clips emulating a movie to complement the narrative told during the live shows.
Fandom Background.
For me to explain my idea, it's also important that I mention that this band just blew up recently thanks to one of their songs going viral on TikTok. We know by now that social media has a really great impact in everything we do today and they are also a vital part of well, everything we consume nowadays. The reason I mention this is because the band grew up their fanbase significantly because of this, and they now have a pretty big and many times crazy fanbase. Since the band mainly blew up on TikTok, their fanbase is basically interested and obsessed with the vocalist and his looks; really, if you don´t believe me go search 'Noah Sebastian' on TikTok, haha; cause he is 'handsome' and obviously very talented, and as we know by now, sometimes fans can get a bit creepy around the artists they idolize. Even at live shows you can see that many of the attending fans are just interested in recording the viral song; when they play that song you can only see phones up in the audience; but oh well, I guess that it is an unavoidable part of any live experience from any artist nowadays. As an example of this sometimes crazy fandom, the vocalist not so long ago struggled with some crazy online rumors started by a fan about a non-existent relationship between Noah Sebastian (the vocalist) and said fan. This obviously blew up on social media and was kinda sad seeing people talking about this and speculating about the private life of the artist, even insulting him at the beginning before the rumors were proved to be false, all of this just because some fan decided to have an imaginary relationship with him.
Another example of the crazy behaviour is that during the pandemic Noah Sebastian used to make Twitch streams to keep in contact with fans during quarantine, but somehow fans figured out where Noah lived, just by these streams, and started sending him gifts to his house and leaving things on his doorstep... creepy right?
It makes me so sad that not only Noah Sebastian, but many artists have to go through things like this just because they are famous, at the end of the day they are just humans like all of us, and they don't deserve to have their privacy violated like that.
As part of the band's recent success, they started doing VIP meetings with fans before their shows, or at least they used to have them until recently. During this experiences, the fans that payed for the VIP Upgrade could meet the band members, have a quick chat with them and take a picture. But as you can imagine, sometimes this were also kind of weird interactions for the band cause many times the fans didn´t have limits or overstepped a little. I imagine it can even get annoying for the band at some point, having to interact with so many people just before performing must eventually take a toll on you, but I also understand that fans obviously want to meet them cause they admire them so much and it's part of being in any fandom having this dream of meeting your favorite artist one day. I think this is a very complex subject cause at the end of the day, the record label and artists are obviously interested in making money and selling and promoting the band´s music, and this VIP meetings are a huge part of the ecuation, but in my opinion this kind of fan events can get out of hand and even represent a risk for the band members per-se, not just because of potentially crazy fans but to their health as well; just recently over their last North American Tour, Noah Sebastian got sick and could not perform the last shows of the tour cause he couldn't sing. Almost immediately after this they cancelled their future VIP Meetings for their European Tour next year. The speculation was that this was because of Noah getting sick from interacting with fans during the VIP's but also because there were some weird interactions from fans during these. Obviously fans were pissed and dissapointed, and I totally understand them, but I also understand the possible reasons from the band to do this. We don´t know exactly what the reason was, but whether it was this or that, I can argue that this experiences have their pros and cons, but there´s definitely room to improve them or even create something better where the artists and fans both have their needs met, cause at the end of the day, they both 'depend' on each other, but it´s important to find a middle-ground to all of this.
So, now let me explain why I tell you all of this and how it is relevant to both of my ideas.
Idea 1: Pop-up Store - Immersive Experience to promote the album
For my first idea, I had the idea to create this kind of pop-up installation that follows this aesthetic of the album and creates this 'apocaliptic world' immersive experience using things from the band's narrative and general lore. (similar to what Stranger Things does for their brand activations). This experience is obviously targeted to the current fanbase but is also intended to bring new fans to the fandom, and it is intended to "upgrade" the existent VIP Meetings formula that is always used by artists: pay, make a queue, have a 1-2 minute chat with the artist, take a picture, have some free gifts and an autograph, and bye.
Like I said before, artists and fans depend on each other, but it's important to create a healthy 'relationship' where both parts are safe and satisfied. Cause let's be honest, this VIP upgrades are sometimes too expensive for what they are, many times the experiences don't turn out great for the fans and they are dissapointed or just feel like they spend so much money for nothing. So my idea's goal is to change that and try to find a middle-ground for this type of experiences so it can benefit both the artist and the fans.
During this immersive experience, the room would be decorated with all the aesthetics from the music videos, kind of easter eggs all around the room; and since the general theme is very futuristic-like I would like to video project some glitchy futuristic visuals all over the room, or maybe even project the music videos on the walls, kind of what is done in the Van Gogh Alive Experiences. With this fans will be immersed in the Bad Omens Fictional World and will feel closer to the band in some way.
I was very inspired by the holoraphic technologies we saw on class, so I had this idea that I think could maybe replace the VIP in person meetings but will still create this engagement with the fans, kind of what Imogen Heap did with her VR concert to connect with fans all over the world mixed with my example of the Holographic Class. During this immersive experience, the band members would be there in the room as Holograms and they would kind of interact with the audience in some way. This not only will follow the futuristic aesthetic but it's also a great way to keep artists safe but still engage with their fans. The whole idea is to bring the Fictional World they've created to life, and make it an immerive experience for the fans that can also serve as a marketing stunt to attract new fans.
Idea 2: AR App for Live Shows to create an Immersive AR Experience
For my second idea, I would like to create this AR App for live shows.
We know by now that cellphones and social networks are a huge part of how we experience life nowadays, it´s very common today to see people recording everything, everywhere, all the time. It is how people nowadays 'prove' their experiences to the world. I honestly don't like that we have become so dependent to our cellphones and that we live and experience everything through a screen, but what can I do, I think we are more into the rabbit hole than out, so all that's left for now is to take advantage of that.
If during a live shows people are experiencing the performance through their phones anyway, why not make it fun and turn it to the advantage of the artist?
The visual and design part behind every album, artists and live shows is very important and it plays a huge role in their success and wether it becomes memorable or not. It is very important to create a connection with the audience in all ways possible and through all the senses, not just with the music alone.
My idea is to create this app where the audience can, yes record the live experience, but they not just see the artist throught their cellphone screen but they see their fictional world come to life and interact with the venue, artist and audience, or even see the background visuals coming to life through their phones in a 3D sort of way; kind of what Gorillaz did for their Live Performance in Times Square but targeted to live shows. Maybe even depending on the song that is playing the app shows specific visuals and makes it a more tailored experience.
I think I still have to think this idea better cause I don't know how viable it would be during live shows, maybe it can just be a complement for the Immersive experience in my first idea.

I usually only share picrew images on my Twitter but I decided to post this one on tumblr too since it has oc lore! 😆 So below are the explanations for my pokemon choices for her:
Leafeon - It's all about the PHOTOSYNTHESIS! It makes fresh air for her and its tail can become sharp and deadly (like her knives) :) It also smells like grass which she likes! I think out of all pokemon I'm keeping leafeon for her no matter what
Pumpkaboo - Audrey loves pumpkins, and is afraid of the dark so pumpkaboo can provide her with light 😌 It can also keep her company if she ever becomes ghostdrey again (she has leftover trauma from Beach AU)
Galarian Rapidash - Audrey loved unicorns when she was a little kid so now as an adult she gets to indulge! She also likes to go FAST when traveling. Also Galarian rapidash can protect and heal you from poison?? I wonder if it would work again zombie infections..
Cutiefly - It can sense auras, and is attracted to people who are excited since it makes their auras resemble a flower in full bloom! I thought this was perfect because not only do I associate Audrey with flowers a lot but she also doesn't hold back when she's happy about something (e.g. crying over delicious food) so she probably attracted a cutiefly at some point haha
Cleffa - Audrey likes to dance and she also likes to watch meteor showers so I imagine she found some cleffa during one of her stargazing nights and danced with them for fun and one of them decided to follow her home
Wooloo - I just think she deserves to relax and cuddle with a nice soft wooloo in the grass! :") She's a retired knight and she's lived through an apocalypse and a war and escaping a cult so now it's time to mow hay. Also Audrey has always been a self sufficient girl so maybe she makes clothes out of wooloo's wool to survive the winter just like how she used werewolf fur in mainverse :3
And that's all of them! I see half the team ended up being fairy types and I think that's fair, Audrey Grace has always been surrounded by magical stuff x)
I tried to include at least one fighting type since she's supposed to be very athletic and a good fighter but idk none of them really spoke to me 😔 Audrey will just have to be the fighter in her team, she'll protect everyone. 😤 Maybe she'll make friends with a Lucario though and they'll go on zombie sweeps together, I think that could be cool...

September 12: AHS 5x06 Room 33
Obviously the best part of today’s episode was all of the Liz content, and the Liz/Tristan romance. I had sort of forgot about them, I guess because they’re only in this one episode together. I get why they were only in one episode—you get pretty much everything you need to know about them from their one scene together—and I get why Tristan was killed off here, because he’d really served his purpose in breaking up Dom and the Countess and he hasn’t really had anything to do since then. Still, the season is so busy and there’s so much bullshit I have to sit through, including everything with Detective John…. I feel like I should get one Tristan and Liz scene for every March scene I need to endure.
Still, I feel like they realized as the show was developing that Liz was the real star and they needed to find reasons to have her interact with all the characters and show up in all the scenes (Liz and Ramona! Liz and the Detective! “Looks like that breakdown is going well” as he comes downstairs naked and covered in blood).
This was a good episode for the Countess as well, showing how the two sides of her character are really a coherent whole. In some episodes, it’s felt like she’s really seesawing, either one or the other: supportive and kind or cruel and selfish and violent. And of course these aren’t really opposites. She’s deeply selfish but also seductive and appealing. I mean, I’ve known irl non-vampires like that haha. Absolutely magnetic, but fundamentally unfaithful—part of the magnetism is the capacity for kindness, for making you feel special, but you’re never as special as them. That’s my read on her and it does track, and I like that we can see it play out here in a single scenario: wanting Liz to be happy, but only if that happiness infringes not in the slightest bit on something she’s claimed as hers.
I feel that the halfway episode is rather late to introduce a story element as significant as Bartholomew—it felt pretty random to me, and, at least so far because I don’t remember what happens to him later, pretty unnecessary. Also I don’t really the crossover scenes with the different seasons. It feels too gimmicky to me. (This was also my problem with the entirety of Apocalypse, as you can imagine.) So really overall the Bartholomew thing felt forced.
The Detective and Alex are truly the villains of this season. I mean, him, obviously, the killer etc. But she’s just as bad. “Oh, I know someone you can mentally torture into a complete and utter breakdown—my ex-husband.” Also while I think the concept of one’s ‘one true love’ being potentially not a romantic love but a familial love is interesting, I can’t get over how BOTH of these numbnuts totally forgot they have another child.
Also I don’t feel bad that Detective John was being mentally tortured. That’s what you get for being born and infecting the season with yet another serial killer narrative. I find it kind of funny when the ghost residents gang up on him, especially the maid and the sheets. Sometimes that character is a little much but often I find she adds the right amount of spice.

If I hadn't been part of the bubble wrap plotting, I would have wanted to know what evil you had in mind. Google is not being helpful in telling me what is on the poster rack at walmart, though Amazon does have some very... If I was 20 years younger, these posters would be all over my wall and on the ceiling. You have to go to places in the middle of nowhere that have maybe only a walmart and a stop light, it makes people do a double take if they notice me, but I haven't been approached. But then again I'm not a dashingly handsome man. I'm not going to say NC-17 stuff didn't get witnessed by these posters, but I don't know other girls did, and the kissing thing seems to be a thing definite thing that a lot of girls did, and probably still do. Haha okay, if we're in the same vicinity and I'm about to do something weird, I'll definitely message you and see if you want in. I wasn't watching it for the boat sinking part, being single sucks and I was trying to manifest a Jack and Rose moment. Also it felt like a we were at a safe enough distance from any icebergs that I wouldn't be manifesting anything else. Then I say the next time you have some time off, bring them along, and a week's stay will be my treat, that way you don't miss anything. Aww that's adorably weird, I didn't explain either so it's my fault, see usually if I put my passport away, and it's out of sight, I usually forget where it is. I'm going to come bring you some fuzzy pajamas so you can get at least a few naps in, because I've booked a trip to Morocco. I'm cuter than you? No way, you have a whole legion of fan girls drooling over you as proof. I don't know if good trouble would trump naughty trouble, but my imagination might be getting the better of me right now. I just went to look to see if i could find the tea, and instead found this woman knitting with like 50 skeins and I'm officially intimidated. You know, I think you should go to a shelter and let the cat pick you, that's the easiest way to find a furry best friend. Well now I definitely have to ask him about you, after all I have to work you into our zombie apocalypse plan. And that's why you are a dreamy heartthrob, because you giggle. Well then, I might not have to be drunk to do it, if you're not repulsed by me coming on to you. Which one did you watch? Because I am a total spaz when I try to dance. My Mom makes old Jewish jokes, like 'It's taken this long to show up, but there had to be something lost in the 40 years spent in the desert, and it was Kitty-kat's rhythm'.

now you're just flattering me -- thank you for that, though i love hearing that my eyes sparkle when i'm plotting because i plot a lot. next time i go to walmart i'm going to have to check out these posters, i want to see what options they have! though i'm at that phase where i can't seem to go anywhere without getting recognized, no matter where i am. okay, that's sort of what i was picturing some girls did with their posters -- i kept it pg in my head. i'm pretty sure i had a mate back in school that did the same thing, that or a pillow, i can't remember. hey now, i've got some weirdo antics myself so you're welcome to share them with me, and i promise i won't be scared away at all. you watched titanic on the cruise? i know we weren't near any icebergs, but i still don't think i could have watched that while on a ship! well now, i want to go on the queen mary even more if it's haunted -- i know that would be right up my best mate's ally as well. i need a million naps because my first thought was i hope you still have eyes on your passport, thinking somehow your eyes were removed. but no, i don't think it would be weird if you visited at all! because you're much cuter than i am, that's why they'd look better on you. good trouble is the best kind of trouble to get into, love, yeah? i ended up on knit!tok because i'm trying to finish my mate's jumper i'm doing for him, and got all the tea instead. what kind of cat should i get though? i've been looking at a ginger cat, those seem fun! i'll say right now that if you ask any questions about me to jamie, he'll be grossly sweet -- because seriously, he's sunshine in human form. oh goodness, i'm not sure i could handle dreamy heartthrob either without giggling. i don't see why it would be a bad thing? i looked it up and i didn't think it was bad at all, i think you're being a bit hard on yourself.

extremely mecore question so i have no idea if this will make any sense. but. i think i remember you said that tsh is at least partially a roadtrip. can you please talk about how various places in the story influence and relate to the overall themes and narrative etc not in a worldbuilding sense but in a Vibes sense. what does the city theyre from Mean to the various characters and what does leaving it mean and are there any other particularly important places etc etc
VERY youcore question. the best part is i haven’t actually decided where they go on the road trip but i’m giving u themes and vibes anyway
first of all. this is technically worldbuilding but i think urban magic would work slightly different from rural magic. the plot reason for this is so that junhee can see some rural place for the first time and be like “what the fuck is that” and the other two can go “???” and then realize there is something deeply wrong with him
so like. every town/landmark they hit has to be significant to one of the characters even if the rest don’t realize it. one of the towns is going to be where sasha’s parents were killed but delwyn & co. obv don’t realize that when they stop there for the night (they only know that its like irradiated with magic; haha turns out that’s what killed sasha’s parents). the town where sasha & co. catch up to them is the sight of the last family vacation hana and chan went on together. the idea here is that the metaphorical ghosts that motivate them are also made very very real by forcing them to revisit the scene of the crime so to speak. like yes tsh is a story about the future but it’s also about the past. that which haunts us. time is circular. etc etc
on one hand i like the idea of them making it to the west coast. beachside confrontation* and all that. plus it’s got a very final “you can go no further” feeling. on the other hand i also like the idea of them almost-not-quite making it. very sexy in a “falling short of expectations” way. or “trying and failing”, which resonates w tsh’s whole failing to stop the apocalypse thing.
(* just to be clear by confrontation i actually don’t mean sasha and co. that happens earlier in the plot. this climactic deal is the one where delwyn goes supernova and blinds junhee. i’m still undecided what the main threat is actually. i like the idea of a magical governing board that keeps tabs on mages and thinks delwyn is too powerful to allow him to go rogue. but also monsters never fail me. like to be more specific the magic governing board appeals more to my “commentary on human nature” instinct but i don’t think they’d be such a threat to junhee that delwyn would need to cause an apocalypse to stop them. a congregation of ppl who happen to be magic beacons drawing a shit ton of monsters to them, on the other hand… i might do both and give the board a smaller climax-type but i’m literally inventing that as i type this so i haven’t thought of consequences or long-term ramifications for any of this)
btw the journey itself uses chan’s car (delwyn and junhee, being new york boys, do not own cars). i imagine it being a mildly beat-up subaru or smth. chan apologizes for the mess in the backseat and junhee is like “we have bigger problems right now”. also lots of stops in run-down motels, dusty midwest towns, rusty gas stations and laundromats that sorely needed a remodel in like 1980. sort of the americana vibe. probably a quarter of the story? takes place in nyc until chan sees a vision of sorts that makes him think the apocalypse will start in nyc so like. if we just take delwyn out of the city everything will be fine! (spoiler alert it is very much not fine)
(also i think the aesthetic vibe is supposed to be a little bit “the world has already ended/been abandoned.” does that mean it doesn’t matter whether delwyn causes an apocalypse? or are we trapped in a story, where the environment knows already where the narrative intends to go? just a little bit of spice for u and me 🤝)
for both junhee and chan this whole apocalypse thing is also the first time they leave their hometowns (nyc and rural georgia respectively). for chan it’s a little bit self-discovery, a little bit hero’s journey (also significant i think that although delwyn is sort of The Main Guy, chan’s the one undergoing the transformative process of the hero’s journey). for junhee it’s a lot more symbolic of his willingness to follow delwyn anywhere (not to make his character sound like that’s his only personality trait?? if it weren’t for chan tho junhee would probably never leave nyc in his life). but it is also very much a “leave behind everything familiar and comforting” moment that does freak junhee out. part of it is that rural magic Does Stuff that urban magic doesn’t and it makes him very jumpy.
also sasha’s crew is following a weird and disjointed set of clues, courtesy of kei, that doesn’t so much lead them to delwyn as it leads them to places that are of emotional significance to him. (this is also how they manage to end up behind delwyn; tw worlduilding but the first clue leads them to new york, so they hop on a flight and then break into his apartment, but he’s already long gone. from there tho kei and sasha can both use the sort of. increased proximity to delwyn’s energy to track him a little more precisely. the more data points the better, which is why they get closer faster with each new city/town.)
delwyn’s hometown is gonna be pretty close to the west coast/end of their journey, around when delwyn’s coming to the conclusion that he is going to cause the apocalypse for real, that he has that power etc. the entire reason for him hailing from the west is that tsh is very “consequences of your own actions”-based; delwyn’s family still lives there and we’ll meet his parents and younger sister. haven’t decided her age yet but the important part is she is completely innocent. she’s sort of the connection to the real world, and delwyn has to be confronted with the reality of everything he’d be sacrificing, and it has to be fresh on his mind when he does it. he has to admit to himself that he is dooming everyone, has to decide for himself that saving junhee is worth that.
anyway thank you for letting me talk about this flesh this out in words etc. also thanks for being literally just as insane as i am muah <3
