THE FINAL ACT WAS ABOUT TO BEGIN. The group planned on luring Ghostface into a secure location and trap him inside. The final reveal was getting close, and Y/N’s heart beat with excitement. She couldn’t wait to see the life draining from Tara’s eyes. And then, she would continue her life with the love of her life.

"Is this even a good plan?" Ethan asked, his hand gripping Y/N’s tightly, as they walked down the stairs to take the train.

"You don't have to come if you don't want to" Tara replied.

"So we just peel off so the killer takes us off one by one? No, thank you" the curly-haired boy said, making his girlfriend look at him with her eyebrows raised. "And I don't want to leave Y/N alone, of course".

"Ill see you later." "bye richie." he kissed you on the cheek before he got out of the car and walked into work. You had school today so you just had come to drop him off, you watched him walk in before driving off.

The two of you had been dating for almost two months now. You started working at the same place as him, for four months, he was the store manager so you two were constantly with each other and he asked you out soon after.

You were happy, mostly. Richie was nice yes but he seemed kind of distant most of the time unless you two were at work and you were helping him stock or he needed a ride to work. But he was nice, yes....

You dont wanna think about it any more as you arrive at school. You get out of your car and walk towards the building, "Good morning." You turn and see ethan standing in his usual spot waiting for you like he always does.

Ethan has been a friend of yours since the beginning of the school year, he was sweet and smart (and super cute.) You two had a couple of classes together so he waited outside for you every morning so he could walk to class with you.

"Good morning e." He smiles at you and you smile back, "did you finish the paper for english yet?" you groan, "dont even remind me." he laughs and begins to walk along side you to class.

In his shock ethan drops his phone and it hits the hard ground with a bang, "shit." this was awful, ethan bent down to grab it but unable to spot it behind his watery eyes. The loud sound must have alerted you two and he looked up to see the two of you standing over him.

"Ethan?" You looked the most shocked to see him. He quickly looked back down and grabbed his phone hoping you didn't see his watery face.

"oh hey ethan." richie wrapped an arm around your shoulder with a smirk while greeting him. ethan cant even look at you. Of course youd date a guy like richie, he was a lot cooler than he was. God why did he have to suck so fucking much?

answering ur questions first i think his family would LOVE fred, i think brock's family is a lot more on the traditional side and fred is def a more traditional alpha in some aspects like. fuckin look at him lmaoooooooo but yes brock's family is pushing for them to mate asap. i do like the way i wrote them meeting in my every thought is you but they prob just meet at training camp idk im boring. home life is so interestingggggg cuz i love me some housewife brock but i think they split everything up fairly evenly chores wise. fred is def the one that cooks tho dont ask me why but i feel like he's a really good cook. idk. brock is definitely the clean freak out of the two.

fred goes nuts in the garden that man loves him some dahlias. always has a fresh bunch of flowers for brock every week🥰he teaches the kids how to garden too (some of them hate it but forced outside time for multiple hours a week is good for you so brock just tells them to can it and get in the backyard with dad) theyre both fairly chill people except when fred is on the field then he's hyper as hell so i think their home life is p quiet. lots of at home dinner dates n movie nights. fred cannot watch horror movies that man is scared of ghostbusters😭

as for them being on the same team it's acc very interesting to me because they DON'T play together unlike joe'marr, diggs/allen (rip), travpat, etc. and theyre actively going against each other every single practice. very yummy indeed. theyre both def very competitive during practice and brock gets hellla mega pissed if fred manages to sack him or get a pick. fred just grins his ass off the entire time cuz it's a win win: either he gets to see brock up close and personal or he gets to watch his omega ball out lololol there are no downsides here. during games theyre both pretty checked out from each other by mutual agreement, like brock gives fred head taps when he's coming on the field and vice versa but thats about it. i think brock would def want space pregame too to get his mindset right but he's always willing to canoodle w fred really early during warmups lol. but after the game? disgusting nastiness from both of them, especially if it's a win and ESPECIALLY if the win is in primetime🤮

Execution: 💥💥💥💥💥 This story is EXACTLY what it says it wants to be, down to the cadence of the prose - a Polish folklore-inspired fairytale. The rhythm of Novik's narration even fits right - one day I'll get the audiobook for this and get to hear it the way I read it in my head, like a grandmother's bedtime story with twists and eddies and crescendos at the all the right bits. I was in love with the aesthetic of every character, they fit perfectly into the backdrop of what this story was.

Personal Enjoyment: ❤❤❤❤❤ This book aligns to my tastes much the same way An Enchantment of Ravens does, and shares of lot of the same elements without ever feeling derivative - smart girl meets magic boy, causes all kinds of irreversible political upheaval, and lives happily ever after being just as they are - a Girl with The Audacity. its a tale as old as time, and i'll hear it told just as often

Favourite Moment: you know its a good book when you really can't choose a favourite moment - one that comes to mind is agniezska choosing to save sarkan from being grafted onto the heart-tree in the Wood instead of setting fire to it. the 'fuck it!' energy agniezska brings to her moments of crisis is SO good, plus the motif of her always reaching out to sarkan to cast magic together - 'hey real quick, cast a spell with me while you're being pulled into an evil magic tree trying to twist your magic and life force against us. couldn't hurt, eh?' and then it WORKS

Favourite Character: now yall know i love a sarkan-esque character - pathetic wet cat men who are so offended by their own squishy feelings are a great time! and kasia is SO bad bitch extraordinaire, her and agnieszka's love for each other literally makes the plot go - every time, every time without hesitation she puts herself as the last thing standing between agnieszka and the Wood. but agniezska herself is really Something. the way she uses magic, her connection with nature and her refusal to be anything else than what she is - a grubby young woman who wields kindness as her weapon against the world, who holds onto her humanity with both hands and teeth - she shapes this fairytale to be the story she wants it to be, one of connection and empathy. and im still thinking about her introducing the lord of the whole valley to her mother 🤣 power move!!
