In case you were wondering, supporting and like a character who was a death eater and supporting the death eaters ARE TWO VERY DIFFERENT THINGS. PLUS THE DEATH EATERS AND TOM RIDDLE WERENT EVEN THE GOVERNMENT IN POWER. Not to defend them or anything but sure they held alot of power but the Ministry still had more (though they did nothing with it the dumb fuckers).

My final point is… ship and love whatever ships and characters you want. Most people don’t give a shit, and those that do are just mindless adults who think they are better than everyone. (newsflash, fandom is always changing and evolving. Get over it). I think it’s wonderful to have so many ships and variation in our fandom, I love exploring all these rare pairs and reading about them.

Don’t let anyone say otherwise, your art, your writing, your love is yours and there are so many people out their that love it just the same as you. Don’t let those single minded haters get to you, they may seem like there is so many of them but in reality it’s probably just one person sitting behind an anon trying to force you out, don’t let them! What you’ve created, what you love is so beautiful and so uniquely you. I love you. I love your art, your fandom. I love you.

Just a small heads up, if you include shipping you may wanna make it clear that there are ships and what ships are there. A lot of people aren’t comfortable with shipping, especially since I’ve seen people say Joel thinks it’s a bit weird to be shipped with anyone other than Lizzie (needs to be fact checked, this is just what I’m seeing in boat boys comment sections). Maybe consider making the ship stuff a separate section or just telling people in advance (pinned post, bio, anywhere clear works) that it includes shipping so those who don’t like it can walk away.

thank you for the heads up! We’re about to get super rambly and vaguely off topic but we promise all your points get addressed. This is actually a great opportunity to clarify, because I realized I didn’t explain myself particularly clearly, if some one does choose to include shipping, its all going to have to be subtext (as always except for shadowbeans whose alternate ship name I still refuse to use), but that is for non-canon ships. Regardless of how people feel about it, c!Joel and c!Jimmy did in fact kiss in Real Life smp, and c!Joel and c!Sausage did in fact have a child together in esmp2, so we’re not gonna rewrite events. Basically when I say shipping in the context of this zine I mean taking relationships the c!Joel had with other people and creating moments that didn’t necessarily happen but feel plausible for the characters that are able to be interpreted as romantic as well as platonic. Also, everyone’s definition of ship art is different, so the level that I was thinking is pretty mild (and btw I’d like to interject here that this is not me dissing on shipping or ship art love shipping so much that I found a ship called the relation and I never left it, but I also know that people have all sorts of comfort levels with different things so this zine is going to be dry docked but I assure you that out there on my super secret personal blog we are very much lost at sea). Like, to give some examples of what would be okay versus not okay for the zine: kissing is pretty much off limits, honestly mostly because that’s a pretty boring zine piece, there’s nothing going on except the ship, but anything where any sort of romance is up to the interpretation, such as hugging, handholding, spending time with, these are all normal things, but also this can’t be the focus of the piece. Please no one just draw like Joel and someone hugging and call it a day. Implied shipping is allowed to feature in your piece, not be the main focus of it. That’s just not an interesting zine piece. Valid art/writing, still amazing stuff keep sharing it on the internet it’s very interesting, just not in the context of this zine. Anyway, you are correct about not everyone being comfortable with that stuff, so if any piece comes off as really shippy without violating the guidelines we’ll make sure to label it correctly, but also, I should make it clear, I’m really hoping that shipping doesn’t become the focus of this zine. It is a Joel zine, so Joel should remain the focus, and any shipping would be subtextual and not central to the zine. There are many great Joel ships out there with lovely content to consume, but that’s not really the focus of this zine. Also, that aside, if Joel doesn’t want his character (because we are talking about shipping cs here. Cc!Joel is a lovely person, but this zine is going to be in-character. Also while cc!Joel should absolutely be respected in what sort of fan content he wants people making about him, his character is, well, just that: a character. Its like saying you can’t ship two characters from an animated tv show because their irl voice actors aren’t comfortable being shipped. It’s just two different things) shipped with characters who don’t belong to his wife, he should probably stop making his c! kiss all those men. And have children with them. And send them love hearts in the mail. And call them babe. If he did it in canon it’s probably safe to say we’re good having them do it in fan content. But again shipping should be an extremely small part of the zine if it’s there at all and should be subtextual enough that even people who don’t ship can still positively engage with the zine!!! If it needs a warning, it’s probably too shippy.

also all this aside if I’m handling this wrong guys I’m sorry I’m only one person and it’s really stressful trying to please everybody I promise I’m trying my best but I just wanna get together with a bunch of other people who share this strange fascination with the bean man and make art and writing about it I don’t wanna get canceled or something I promise I’m trying my best. I’m really struggling to balance my love of creating shipping fan content and realizing that not everyone is comfortable with that and it’s really difficult and stressful I just can’t we all just draw and write what makes us happy I just want this to be a fun experience and being yelled at on the internet for drawing two characters who’s ccs aren’t in an irl relationship being something other than friends is not my definition of a good time. First of all, yaaaay it’s finished!! I am so happy. Book 7 ended up being so huge, we honestly can’t wait to read it.

But it’s going to have to wait, unfortunately. We took a detour to watch/read Blue Lock (for the event that we got invited to), which honestly ended up being quite a nice breather and a change of pace that I now feel like I needed a lot.

We’re not taking a break break from Twst, as we’re still really into it and post stuff regularly, but we don’t know for now when we’ll get back to actually reading it. It could even be after the EN catches up with the book 7 ending, with the pace they’re going with right now… But hey, at least it’s going to eliminate the feeling of anxious rush and FOMO.

We’ll also probably end up rewatching the entire thing from book1, so get ready for that whenever it happens 🫡 Unfortunately, our style of consuming media is closer to “we’ll wait until only like 5 people still give a fuck”. Sorry if it’s disappointing to hear… 😔

Jack/Leona isn’t a major ship that we have a lot of thoughts about, but I agree with you: they really do have this push-pull annoyance-admiration thing. I love how Jack gets disappointed, but still doesn’t really lose respect, but still is disappointed lol They do have potential, and for some mysterious reason my mind immediately goes to the nsfw territory with them…

I’ll keep your ask in an ask box just in case I have more thoughts (=hcs, although there won’t be a lot of them), but I didn’t really want to keep you hanging for any longer.

It’s mostly because of Azul being one of the main trio of the event, and the only character of the trio that we consider a top, so in a way it’s a default option, but ALSO we just really, really love Azul being his sleazy and ass-kissing self around Rollo, trying to form a connection with the school council president of another school. And the more Azul learns about Rollo’s true self, the more he could use it against him, I mean, form a much, much deeper connection!

Ultimately, we just love Rollo being uncomfortable and still tolerating Azul because he has no choice….

picture isagi and hiori scrolling through comments on interviews posted on the bastard münchen page during their free time. their attention lands on their most recent interview in which both were given an activity that involved describing abstract concepts like feelings or art. one player is instructed to describe a random idea and the other is to guess exactly what it is and within a certain timeframe. hiori, as he is however, struggles with defining and describing love to isagi due to his lack of experience, resulting in many of his fans picking up on it, showering his comments with things like:

'all of these people out there somewhere love you and they try to show it. to many, the best method to most happens to be the one which involves understanding every single one of your details.' as much as he'd like to deny it, isagi's stupid formulaic, chemical reaction analogy begins to make sense to hiori. if his parent's had truly loved him (or vice-versa), they would've made the effort to get to know him as a person. not only that, his newly-kindled passion and supposed love for soccer had been formed through a similar process: getting to know himself as well as the game. to be loved really is to be known.

and so if hiori yo were to love, at any point in the future, he'd look to get to understand and know what it is that he loves, inside and out. to be loved is to be known and my, isn't it good that he now knows?!

I don’t know if it’s just me but I noticed a lot of artist will make Wednesday shades darker almost as to not make her seem to pale and risk being accused of “white washing”. To me as a Latina, the actress that plays Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) is on the lighter side of skin tones for Hispanics.

Also, Jenna is such a cutie and it makes drawing her as Wednesday so adorable to me. People will try to make her look completely different as in rugged but I wish people could draw her up as more feminine. At the end of the day she does have the cute nose, big brown eyes, and a beautiful smile. (Don’t get me started on the dimples) It’s damn near canon that when Wednesday lets her hair out of those braids she damn near makes Enid want to faint.

omg thanks for loving my art!! your opinion on this is valid, and id like to share my own art in regards to how i personally draw wednesday and her colors bc i dont get asks often LMFAO PLS ask more (yapping ahead!!!!)

if you see all my fanart of wednesday side-by-side, i would say i have an inconsistent art style bc i heavily rely on visual iconic cues (her braids, dark clothes, glare) to draw wednesday!

and thats bc i dont heavily base wednesday off of jenna ortega. i don't really associate characters with their actors, i see a character they portray and then when drawing, i take the most basic elements. (costume, color scheme, overall character design)

this doesn't mean i don't draw weds based on Jenna Ortega at all. while i do draw her skin tone tanner than Jenna's (some will draw her darker, some maybe even very lighter) i still draw her relatively close to her shade as well as Jenna's dimples Jenna's height too lol

It's what makes drawing fun! I'm here for the concept of wenclair, wednesday and enid. this makes having headcanons less stressful and more freeing! it's also why im not comfy shipping jenna and emma T__T

this one is so silly to me. so here’s my idea for it is that setsuko and suguru are the ones who start off with the ship because they’re childhood besties in almost every au so they were probably on the wavelength of ‘we’re going to be the coolest pirates when we grow up’. they get their ship. they meet shoko at some point and she’s like a healer and is like ‘lol you guys are gonna get scurvy if you don’t let me heal you wink wink’ and she throws oranges at them. LMFAO. okay. so satoru is obviously the stowaway. he’s probably some like prince in this au who longs for a life at sea. and setsuko and suguru (who are both captains. they share.) are like ‘hm… he’s cute.’ and decided to keep him. shoko is very nonchalant about the whole thing but she’s glad to have him aboard regardless. thinks the monarchy is stupid and thinks it’s funny that they ‘stole a prince.’ satoru reminds them that they DID NOT steal him but shoko thinks it’s funny. setsuko and suguru quickly join in on this joke as well. they’re a fun little crew. they kiss sometimes. I MEAN WHAT WHO SAID THAT. (was it casual when we would steal precious jewels and give it to each other as tokens of our love and affection)

headcanon… the ship is called the rainbow dragon and honestly it makes sense because the fuckers (affectionate) are all rainbows themselves. they’re all incredibly touchy and affectionate with one another but they never establish what’s actually going on between them, which seems to be a constant in every universe. regardless, they all love each other and defend one another. also as opposed to setsuko’s canon forehead scar from The Toji Incident, i think the… pirate killer??? slashed her eye. so she wears an eyepatch a lot of the time but she always takes it off when it’s just the four of them. sashisu all agree she’s beautiful regardless (:

Hello, I like your art can you share some Sasajima Kyouya/Wrath headcanons? He’s my favourite character.

*cracks knuckles* YOU’VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE. Honestly he’s my Favorite too! A decent of my Headcanons for him revolve around my OT3 or the Demon Army Family so here we go!

This may contain vague Spoilers and I may edit this for grammar or to add more details…

Honestly consider this part 1 because if you ask again later I’d probably have even more written down lol.

(I’m ripping this from my KumoDesu Fanfic ideas Doc so if some of the wording is wonky that’s why btw THERE’S A LOT)

To start I’ve def said this before here: Things to note I’m obsessed with my headcannon of Shun x Katia x Kyouya as an OT3 and there is zero content but I have a million ideas but no energy. Also you can rip the headcannon of the demon army as family with Ariel x Shiraoi as the parents to Mera, Sophia, and Kyouya (and YES I have a long winded modern and other AUs shut up) from my cold dead hands.

Shiro and Kyouya Mother-Son: The Labyrinth and the Mountains are probably the 2 harshest environments in the world. So I like to think that because of growing up in these environments Shiro and Kyouya both have some weird but similar values. I’ve always kinda seen them very much as Mother and Son. The Labyrinth was harsher so she has some more insane survival methods and he sort of looks up to it. (Side note: I know some people Ship them and I never want to throw discourse, you’re allowed to ship whatever you want so don’t want to say much, but personally I hate it very much I could go into why but it’s mostly my character reads and taste). Ariel and Shiro give off so many Mom vibes when it comes to Mera, Kyouya, and Sophia to me lol (and yes they would be siblings in that order I don’t remember where but I think the LN said Goblins have shorter pregnancies so Kyouya is slightly older than Sophia lol). Sophia especially with Kyouya reads as the “no one is allowed to bully my Brother but me” vibes and I love it. Her and Kyouya also both definitely look up to Mera as someone who’s well put together.

For the hair of the non-human reincarnations: Shiro’s hair feels like silk. Fei’s hair feels like feathers. And Kyouya’s hair feels like soft animal down. I bet Katia asks to play with Kyouya’s hair and then has a flied day with how soft it is. I also like to think she tries to convince him to let her do his nails lol.

For lifespan: So Shiroai is immortal, I’m assuming Ariel has a long life span close to that (ignoring the end of the novel with Ariel spoilers), and Mera and Sophia are somewhere in the same boat or close to that… How long is Kyouya’s lifespan??? For most angst is he gonna outlive his human friends but die before his demon family???

Goblins are just Hamsters: The Goblins look like they’re based on Hamster so you can not take away from me the Headcanon they’re language is just Hamster noises. I like to think Kyouya teaches it to the others so they can use it as code. (The Demon Army can communicate purely with inhuman noises lol). I like to think Kyouya purrs instead or snores because of this as well. I also like to think because he grew up around the Goblins he just sees them as people and doesn’t get what everyone thinks they look like.

Kyouya’s height: Kyouya was a manlet before reincarnation it's cannon I’m living. Okay and technically speaking he probably is after reincarnation as well. Like they are in a European Fantasy setting and he’s only “considerably taller than he used to be” which was considerably short for a Japanese High Schooler. Also in Ex2 we see him standing next to a Puppet Taratect (which are all short af) yet they come up to his shoulder.

Housewife vibes: I think what Kyouya wants in life is to be a Housewife ngl. My OT3 Agenda: Background: I’m just saying Kyouya is really depressed and probably doesn’t have any plans for after the war but I could see Ariel having in him work in the human area with Shun and Katia (probably cause she feels a bit sad about him losing friends) because he’s in their upper ranks and unlike Sophia can actually deal with people. But I feel like Shun and Katia feel bad that they had each other and he had to grow up all alone so they try and reconnect. Shun, because he really clings to the connections he does have and because they were so close in their past lives, desperately wants to rebuild that. Katia because she seems similarly attached to people she considers friends she’s afraid of losing that and probably feels bad for writing Kyoua off as maybe an enemy and not being there for him like she was for Shun. Kyouya is just deeply confused that they still want anything to do with him and feels undeserving but is really happy. Confession: I think Katia knows about her feelings first but doesn’t say anything due to self esteem issues (except some flirting to test the waters). I think Kyouya has a realization ™ and feels unsure of what to do (also self esteem issues). But ends up visibly being a little off which Shun notices and brings up to Katia (she sorta noticed as well) so she confronts him which ends in a mutual confession between the two as they then decide how to tell Shun. Shun meanwhile worried what’s going irks Fei who decides to inform him of his very obvious (to everyone but him) crushes. Now realizing his feelings he’s very awkward about it until Katia and Kyouya confront him and confession ensues. Now realizing they all love each other: OT3 successful.

Love the way you ruined my New Year’s Eve a couple of years ago, making me break down and cry for about an hour because when you told me about an experience I had aligned it with ADHD traits (after being very open about the fact that I have ADHD) and not only did you get mad at me for even implying you have ADHD, but you made me feel extremely insecure about having it myself.

Let’s not forget the way you lashed out at me when I asked you a question about an artwork (it was ‘where’s [X] standing?’ Because the scaling and everything looked incredibly off and I just wanted to understand what was happening)

How about when I got too nervous to share an experience with a creator because I was young, they were older than me, they had more friends, we had been in an argument for about a year, and I couldn’t physiologically take it anymore, then we resolved the issue and you deadass got mad at me.

Oh wait, no.. it was also earlier than that, when you called them something like toxic and I told you that I had never considered them like that before (as in it never clicked for me that they were toxic) and you stopped talking to me and when you did it was just to tell me off- as if I wasn’t the victim in the situation and wasn’t the one that couldn’t recognise how greatly this person had affected me.

The endless uncalled for venting?

OH! How about that time I showed you a drawing and instead of giving any praise or feedback you didn’t mention the drawing and instead asked why I still made Gacha Content, so I gave you a full list on why I do it and your reply was something like ‘Nevermind’ and I asked you why you asked and you still haven’t told me to this day.

What about when I helped you find disgusting CountryHuman art and artists to report, then a few days later you message me saying we can’t be friends anymore if I still like countryhumans, not even just informing me that you don’t like it and giving me the option to leave the fandom or stop being your friend.

Reminiscing on when I got super excited and nervous because I messaged and artist I adored, then we got to chatting and it was super exciting for me, so you actively searched for any reason to hate that artist, and when you found one, I had suggested I can simply ask them to edit the post and remove it, so that it wouldn’t be a hassle, but you kept saying not to bother.

I messaged them anyway, suggesting to remove it and they were more than happy to do so because they’re a normal fucking person who recognised that maybe it wasn’t the best decision, then you got mad at me??

How about when you were super judgemental of my ship [this was countryhumans btw] between Australia and Germany, while you shipped America and Australia. Then my reasoning of just enjoying the places and knowing that there’s peace between them was never enough??

I could never come to you with dramas from my life because you’d either ignore me the whole day, or you’d try to one up me.

Anytime I said anything that upset you, you wouldn’t talk to me for, minimum, an hour, which would leave me stressing and apologising.

These all greatly affected me because now I:

Rarely share and promote posts that are older than a few months, seeing it as me embarrassing myself (I want to get past this, because I know sharing and enhancing with posts are important on platforms)

Get nervous discussing ADHD with people who aren’t diagnosed and feel like I have to purely mention the good things, rather than the everything.

Think I criticise too harshly and feel like no one can use my critics and that they’re useless.

Fortunately I don’t get into a lot of creator drama, but if I do, it takes a while to get support.

Now I get nervous to vent at all. Never wanting to put pressure on being listened to.

I just.. I think about that regularly…

Now I get scared to tell people I’m NOT in a fandom anymore. Never told my ex partner I didn’t like Countryhumans anymore.

Now I get nervous reaching out to creators at all (praise my moots) and have to rely on people coming to me instead.

I managed to get past that one and now have a perspective of ‘if it’s not illegal, go off’

Once again, greatly affected the way I open up to others, even my therapist.

Now I have an incredibly weird relationship with apologising, as it’s lost all it’s meaning.

I draw (and hope to draw more) violetta without her prosthetics because it feels more natural.. I think that’s the right word for it. Violetta loves being a spider, but I do think that after a while it can get uncomfortable (even with Tracy’s effort to make it as comfortable as possible) And I also like to draw it as a reminder that Violetta is a disabled woman, not just .. a spider. Also thinking about drawing her using a wheelchair (I need to start putting my ideas on paper)

Violetta was my first main ever since I started playing in 2020.. I don’t know what it was about her, but I just got attached. Even in my many (and I mean MANY) breaks from this game she has remained my top favorite and that place has not faltered,, not even once.

Sometimes when I post my viotracy art, i wonder if the people I’m sharing it to have similar feelings like me about the ship. I really love them a lot. Even if I take 500 idv breaks.. i doubt that’ll change.

About the Touhou drawing, even though it really underperformed, it did the thing that I really love about obscure crossovers: there were some people who connected the dots and went “ah!”. It ended up being a drawing for a very specific audience lol But I am extremely happy that those who liked it did like it, including you! It means a lot that we still get support on stuff that doesn’t necessarily click with a lot of people.

Katsu said it the other day, but I’ll say it too: we really don’t want to seem ungrateful because all the support we receive is honestly insane and we’re really happy that we could be this self-indulgent about stuff that we post. It motivates both of us a lot, and I feel like no matter how much I thank you all, it’ll never feel like I’ve said it enough time to express just how much we appreciate it properly.

Jade and Floyd are interesting because even though they act together a lot of times, they don’t really like being “a set” to each other, so I guess whether they would do something like this or not really depends on a lot of stuff. I do love to sandwich one character between them, and I tend to do it with Idia because of course I do lol But it still doesn’t feel like a poly ship to me, more like two creeps harassing poor guy because he amuses them…

I agree that it would be an interesting dynamic to see Jade and Floyd fighting for a piece of meat someone else’s attention because it would showcase their pettier side, like two kids hissing at each other. But in practice, I don’t really know who would fit to be that one person these two would fight for like that 🤔 They are too good at minding their business when it comes to each other’s love affairs.

The s*m fandom is honestly a bit toxic. I’ve seen people get sent death & r/pe threats because they ship Azriel with a certain priestess, and have even said those two characters couldn’t be together because she’s a survivor of assault. It’s gross to think survivors can’t have consensual sex of their choosing. I get scared to voice that I ship Azriel with Gwyn because I don’t want to get bullied. There’s negativity on all sides. I miss how things used to be for fandoms, all fandoms, in general. People were excited about sharing their art, their edits, and creating headcanons, but now it seems people are always wanting to bring another person down.

yeah nonnie :((( i’m not part of the s*jm fandom but i do remember seeing stuff about that. i think there’s just always going to be a demographic within any group of fans who are just. actually batshit insane and not in a fun silly way. i 100% agree about g.wyn btw, i think it’s weird to dismiss a character’s agency in the name of reclaiming agency ?

there’s a lot of things wrong with most fandoms and this is a generalisation of course but i’ve noticed w a lot of the (bookt*k) ac0tar fans that they just don’t have much reading comprehension or critical thinking skills (ex. g.wyn/azr1el, claiming the bat.boys as poc etc.) and this isn’t to say that i didn’t enjoy reading that series because there’s parts of it i enjoyed! i love analysing the book series but also i think that fandom is guilty of giving the author way more credit than she's due (sort of like jkr if i'm being honest - esp with the representation aspect where actual canon is quite subpar and shallow)

trashy books are a guilty pleasure of mine like, i don't read them as much anymore but i do kind of have fun reading the silly amazon books with awful descriptions and even worse characters that make you want to scream because they're so unserious i have to laugh. i just don't like to interact with a lot of the takes within that space because they make me want to scream and not in a funny way !

To get appearance out of the way — I’m 5’7, with short curly dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. I wear glasses, so I love being completely unable to see without them (/s)

I enjoy most if not all forms of creative expression, but writing is the main focus. I’m currently working towards getting my masters in English, so there’s that. That being said, I am also self-taught in art and music, and used to play soccer as well. I really enjoy painting and playing piano primarily :)

Personality wise my MBTI changes all the time so literally all I can put is “XNXP” truthfully — but beyond that I tend to be a pretty blunt and straightforward person. I’m pretty sarcastic and teasing especially with my friends. I’m very openminded and will try anything at least once. I know that the people in my life tend to see me as someone they can go to for advice / solutions because I don’t like to sugarcoat and they expect that sort of honesty from me.

My love languages are acts of service and physical touch especially. I don’t come across as huggy in real life but I am, in fact, very huggy and like to be useful so there’s that. - Y’all have that fun sarcastic humor so y’all would just be laughing it up in the bar before closing time. It was probably one of the nights where he genuinely had fun talking to someone (other than Dick ofc)

- Just in general though afterwards you guys share that same type of humor, like you guys love to joke around and tease each other, almost like best friends would. Like banter is used A LOT in your guys’ relationship, you guys also know not to take it too far so when you guys do joke around it never actually does turn into a fight/argument.

- you guys are both a very smart couple, but he finds you brilliant, How you can just write up a whole page of words in a couple minutes, is a whole SKILLL to him, he always asks you to read what you’ve written to him after you’ve finished too (if you’re comfortable with reading it ofc)

Albedo

When he sees you studying religiously in the workshop, he goes to the nearby campfire. Finding a pot and some water, he warms it up to make hot cocoa. Heading back to you, he hands it to you, watching your face light up in pleasant surprise. 

As the workshop in the mountains can still get cold, he fetches a wool blanket to wrap around your arms. It allows you to have a better time with your research. 

He tries to take your mind off of work by asking you to be his model for his next art piece. You are told to lay down, because he wants to draw you that way. Despite shooting him a confused look, you follow through with it anyway, getting into a position that’s too relaxing. Soon enough, you fall asleep and he quickly tends to you and tuck you in. 

Other times, he wants you away from the workaholic atmosphere. Holding your hand tightly, he leads you out of the cave-like study and into the pretty snow. A light flutter falls from the skies, tickling your cheeks in gentle waves. The two of you stroll through the slippery slopes, and he makes sure no harm comes to you.

He talks philosophically and about the world, giving you a break from the load of paperwork. 

However, he is quite the workaholic himself, his thoughts always straying to him own studies. This usually strikes some sense in you, where you help pull him out of his stupor, as well as your own. The two of you continues to remind each other that breaks are needed. He’s your rock to hold onto; and you were his.

Kazuha

Whispers poetry into your ear. His voice itself is soothing to you, calming your frantic nerves from the ongoing training that was set in stone. Every word that comes out is like silk, which relaxes your tense muscles. 

Pulling you away from the training grounds, he shows the nature views he has grown so fond of. Maple leaves rain down in gentle motion, the scenery warming you up inside with comfort. It is beautiful and you do not regret sneaking out with Kazuha for this moment. 

He talks about his homeland, Inazuma, full of raw emotion and beautiful phrases that take your breath away. He tells you not to rush what fate has in store for you, to take it easy and go at your own pace. This relieves your stress easily. 

You are sometimes taken out to the ship, where you are not allowed to train. The sea laps beneath the engine, blue waves furling in a way that soothed you. It is beautiful, the horizons stretching far and wide, with the rising morning sun in the distance. 

Seeing your tired expression, he takes you to the middle of nowhere -- the meadows where it is warm and the sun basks. He says the wind leads him here. And before you know it, the two of you are knocked out on a rock, taking a nap together to find your energy again for the next coming day. 

At times, he goes easy on you during battles, soon turning it into a fun word game where he contemplates haiku. 

“The wind is calm today. Come. We don’t need you rushing either.”

Always very willing to distract you from your paperwork. Barging right into your office at the Favonius Headquarters, he walks to you with a giddy smirk. 

He takes no objections, deaf to your protests as he forces you out of there, running through the fields with you fumbling behind him. He goes to Windrise, expertly climbing up his favorite tree. You sit beside him, letting out a sigh at the male. You are secretly happy to be here instead.

Plays his precious lyre to you, the melodic song ringing into your ears. They make you feel warm inside... and sleepy. His voice is angelic as always, with favorite lyrics tumbling out of his precious lips. 

Of course, he brings you to his favorite tavern in Mondstadt, Angel’s Share. Buying a bunch of drinks, the two of you drink and feel the rush of it kicking in. He is smiling in content when you sag your shoulders into a relaxed state, no more worrying about the irrelevant stuff from before.

Tells you lots of jokes. You try not to laugh at them, but he eventually gets to you anyway. His teal eyes watch you softly, content to destress you from the workload you keep putting on yourself. He misses when you had more freetime -- when you aren’t fretting about the littlest things. 

He gives you a lot of surprise hugs. His arms are surprisingly strong, tightening around you and stubborn to let you go. You feel yourself giving in to the sturdiness of his arms. 

“Free yourself from the chains of responsibility, [Y/N]. Eheheh. Pretty please?”

Actually reminds me, what made you start the familial dynamics agenda thing for genshin?

I absolutely love that about your art btw! It's not easy to find purely familial dynamics between genshin charas with every character being shipped with anyone :'D

I didn't plan anything to be honest. I was having a hard time earlier this year when my chronic nightmares were at its worst point 💦 And then I doodled kaeya-bedo-klee to comfort myself and it was really well recieved in my socials.

The agenda kinda started when I realized that I don't really want to draw shipping content? I saw comments that mentions kaebedo in my earliest doodles and I found out that I don't like it (not the ship, but the perception that my art was deemed as romantic even when I didn't specify it).

I figured out that, well... I'm tired. I just want more found family content and that's it. If there's none, I'll do it myself, I guess.

Perhaps it's just the unlimited potential of family dynamics that could exist in genshin, even between characters who haven't intercated yet. This is the same thing that makes people ship characters too, I think. But I tend to imagine it more on familial side.

I don't think people realize that Genshin shows so much familial love? Here's some that I want to list and highlight:

Razor being taught by Lisa in a mentor-student way, the way she taught him not only how to read, but astrology, cooking, and many more. And Varka who found him and decided that Razor don't have to necessarily become a Mondstadt citizen or move into the city, but for him to learn a bit more about humans and protect his Lupical.

Barbara and Jean who grew apart by their parents' divorce tries to reconnect when they're older now. The small steps they take, and how much Barbara treasures what she has with Jean. The way she treats the photo of both of them and how she immediately took off to save Jean when she heard she may be in trouble. Jean who is strong and protective, whose childhood didn't exist because of her mother. Who tries her best to reconnect with her as well. The little meetings they have as the story progresses. Maybe one day they can meet each other's eyes and understand that they both want this.

Eula and Amber. The way Amber becomes the light in Eula's unfair world. The one who didn't take her promise of revenge seriously and look farther into her instead. Eula who shows her gratitude in small acts, like paying for their meals or bringing food or clean her room because she doesn't know how else to show it. Amber who accepts her for who she is and continues to accompany her and becomes the bridge between Eula and Mondstadtians.

The Adepti of Liyue, who look after one another. The way Cloud Retainer tease Ganyu and worries over her place in Liyue Harbor, and how Xiao help to push Ganyu to figure out things herself. Madame Ping and Yanfei's adorable bond, them being at peace with what they do in Liyue Harbour and keeping touch with each other.

Xiangling, Chongyun, Xingqiu, Hu Tao, and Xinyan who are chaotic. Xiangling becomes the core who feeds them and also get themselves in trouble. The way everyone enjoys each other's companies. The tidbits of information around their friendships, the poem battle, the food, the exchanged dangling accessories for Chongyun and Xingqiu's vision, everything they share is amazing 10/10.

Thoma who is a foreigner, welcomed into the Yashiro household and become a part of it. The way he integrated himself within the family and how the family treats him as one of their own. The bond he has with Ayaka where he reminds her that everything shouldn't have to be all serious and took some of the burden into his own hands. The way he is so at home with where his currently is and is both respected and loved.

Xiao who has both Verr Goldet and Huai'an caring for him. Both humans worries over him and wants him to be at peace and have friends who cares for him. The way both spent their time and energy to make Xiao enjoy Lantern Rite at the comfort of Wangshu Inn. They way they talk about him when he's not even there. The way they asked the traveller to deal with the monsters within the vicinity to alleviate Xiao's burden to protect the Inn.

Kaeya who were adopted not only by the Ragnvindr family, but also Mondstadt as a whole. Maybe Crepus didn't officially adopt Kaeya and that's okay, it's been in so many debates. But adoption for me don't need official papers? Just like the other found family I mentioned, family adoption can be in a sense of feeling and belonging, just like what Kaeya had with Ragnvindrs and Mondstadt. He is adopted, treated like one of their own. Loved and respected even with his vague background. He is family there, within the knights, within the hearts of elderly who loves him like a son, and in the city of freedom.
