long ass seiyasu rambling

i think the kind of rarepair that is like "they're in the same general group but aren't shown interacting much" is my fave kind bc there are parts of their lives that are shared no matter what even if we dont get to see it and i love thinking about those parts...

with seiyasu specifically i cant decide which past setting i like for them so i just juggle them all in my head 🥹 i like childhood friends but i dont think they would have ever been close enough to really call it that.. but yasu's reasoning for abandoning botan as a friend was to not make her sad if she were to find out about the wyrmclan leaders' short lifespans and as the heir to his clan seimei wouldve already been aware of that... theres a bit of evidence that the wyrmclan leaders knew each other prior to becoming a leader (yasu talks about mitsu before she was a leader) and nobu and mitsu were childhood friends despite their families disapproving but i also think sei was the kind to keep to himself so i like the idea of yasu just being curious about him from afar ever since they were young... catching a glimpse of him during big ceremonies and whenever he had to visit the ox territory for his duties...

then theres the current timeline of events that we see through the game's story.. yasu is shown in the chamber of light in a clawful caper's epilogue as they talk about seimei's supposed disappearance and im constantly wondering if the other wyrmclan leaders knew about the truth of his mission?? bc sei does mention that it was a secret mission but i wouldnt have thought it would be a secret to the other leaders.. and no one follows up w this either 😭 yoshitsune knew because rikugo informed her and seimei also apparently called for her help (im a bit skeptical as to whether this is the truth bc yoshitsune was also just aware of doman's movements while helping the mukuroshu)

and right after that was the events of fortune's fray where yasu does show up, supposedly at seimei's request... 🥹 if yasu really wasnt aware of sei's secret mission its nice to think about him hurrying to alberia to his aid once he found out sei was alive...

fortune's fray is really nice bc even tho it focuses on luca and elly more theres still the fact that yoshitsune and probably also ieyasu recognizing nameless as sei... i feel like its implied yoshitsune trained with sei a bit (she was close to rikugo, mentions being close to an onmyoji in the past so might have a rough grasp of onmyodo, sei's main attack shikigami are also birds) but the way yasu talks sounds like he figured out it was sei too and hffhgjfh its good...

dont think ive ever talked about this but their appearance in saiga story is also nice, i like that yasu was the one who proposed that saiga leads the assault into the mukuroshu base and probably ordered addis to support him... meanwhile i feel like gozu is there bc sei doesnt trust saiga

i was already exploding at the illust with all the wyrmclan leaders but shingen's story was really the cherry on top... its so cute how they went on a trip together and while we still dont see seiyasu interact bc its mostly one-on-one interactions between shingen and the others its still ...?? they were traveling together... its only a group of 6 and nobumitsu + shingen fudo would obviously stick together... im not delusional right.. even in yukimura story yasu is the one to deliver seimei's message fjdjjdg why?? please answer me cytendo (im joking)
