DO YOU THINK THAT RELATIONSHIP IS COMPLETELY RUINED? AND WHAT DOES AEGON NEED FROM HIS MOTHER AFTER ROOK'S REST?

Thanks! I've been a horror fan since I was younger, I don't even remember when it started. But in terms of horror themes in my drawing, I've been inspired by Silent Hill 2, Satoshi Kon, Evangelion, Lain, and Goodnight Punpun. The last 4 ones mostly delve into the psychological aspect.

I think I lessened my horror art in recent months because I started feeling great about life, so I've been leaning on more wholesome/recovery themes.

I used to draw horror a lot because I was at a really low point in my life, and it comforted me at the time. Now I just draw horror for fun.

And yes, Slay the Princess is bringing me back and reminding me of my love for the genre OOps.

Been thinking about this Gravity Falls comic by MoringMark wherein Soos gifts his slice of infinite pizza from the episode "Blendin's Game" to Pizza Guy. It's a very simple yet wholesome comic that I was more than happy to accept as headcanon... uuuuuuuntil I looked back at the official Journal 3 and found this page specifically referencing the idea that Soos is the only one who could eat it and have it regenerate.

However, I think I've found a way to make this comic still work into the canon of the show if people wish: creating my own headcanon fanfiction short story!

This short story acts as a summary of what I believe could've possibly constituted an entire episode of the series. It takes place between "The Stanchurian Candidate" and "The Last Mabelcorn."

So, without further ado, I give you...

"Space-Timed Order"

Soos decides that he no longer wants his Infinity Pizza, saying that he’s had enough pizza to last him a lifetime. Not knowing what else to do with it, as he is the only one with the ability to eat it and have it regenerate forever, he shares his predicament with Dipper. The two talk to Ford in hopes of finding a way to bypass the rule that only Soos can make the Infinity Pizza regenerate. Fascinated by how such a thing was even capable of existing, Ford asked about its origins. Dipper and Soos explained that was the result of a time wish won through Globnar, which reminded Ford of the time he was almost outwitted by operatives of the Time Paradox Avoidance Enforcement Squadron during his time as an interdimensional outlaw. This event seemed to have been something of a blow to his ego. Hoping to show that his intellect was indeed superior to the intricate powers of Time Baby himself, Ford took on the task of analyzing the Infinity Pizza in order to find a way to remove its bond with Soos. Dipper and Ford geek out about the implications and possibilities should he succeed, such as ending world hunger or even applying such infinite regeneration to other resources. However, in attempting to crack the code on the Infinity Pizza, Ford nearly caused a rift in the space-time continuum. Without the help of Time Paradox Avoidance Enforcement Squadron operatives Lolph and Dundgren, all of timespace might have collapsed. After being brought before Time Baby and narrowly avoiding punishment for their actions, Soos, Dipper, and Ford attempted to convince the time tyrant to break the Soos-only restriction of the Infinity Pizza. Time Baby explained that this was not possible as an openly-accessible gateway to creating infinite matter would ultimately cannibalize the universe itself as matter cannot be created from nothing. The reason that the pizza was able to infinitely regenerate was the result of the Time Anomaly Removal Crew’s seemingly infinite supply of useless contraband being discarded and molecularly reconstituted into pizza at Soos’ fingertips. When Soos asked if they could instead just bond the abilities of the pizza to someone else, Time Baby and his forces obliged on the condition that Ford must never again attempt to counteract the laws of spacetime, to which Ford agreed in a somewhat defeated manner. When faced with the question of who was worthy of the limitless power of the Infinity Pizza, Soos could think of only one person whose hunger for pizza could’ve outweighed his own.

Did I really write all of this to justify a silly comic? Yes, yes I did.

Top 10 Cozy BLs!

Our Dating Sim made me realize we have a new sub genre of BLs happening right now: the cozy BL. 

I decided to invent/identify/name this new BL category because... I can. I crowd sourced (here in the hellhole) opinions of how to define it and what should go on it. The collective brainstormed and elected the following qualifications: 

low angst 

low stakes 

high domesticity 

a central relationship that is more cute than anything else

extra points for found family

AKA BLs that make you feel happy and comfortable. 

These BLs leave you feeling warm and safe, like a hot water bottle. I will list them in order of my personal preference when in the mood for “cozy.”

1. Our Dating Sim 

(Korea, Viki) 

Did I create this list for this show? Yes I did. It defines this category. It is a very low stakes, high domesticity, extremely warm and gentle second chance at love office romance. 

This is a fuzzy blanket of a story that perfectly suited KBL’s short-length tendencies. The pacing is... muuuuuah... chef’s kiss. 

2. Seven Days 

(Japan, grey in 2 parts Seven Days: Monday - Thursday | Seven Days - Friday - Sunday) 

 Popular first year Seiryo has a policy of going out with any girl who asks… for one week. On a lark, third year Yuzuru tests to see if that policy also applies to boys. Seiryo agrees that it does. Along the way they accidentally fall in love. Possibly my favorite BL of all time. It’s very gentle with us and its characters while still having that Japanese emo edge to it. 

A master class in quite yet riveting cinema. 

What, you doubted me? OF COURSE it’s on the list

3. My School President

(Thailand, YouTube)

GMMTV gave us a classic high school set Thai BL with tropes like messy boys singing their feelings that made this one Love Sick for the modern age with all the gentle sweetness and pining ache, but none of the dated damaging tropes or issues. Yes, we’ve seen it all before, but I still ADORED this, and that’s partly what makes it so comforting. Who let my BL be this wholesome and funny? 

4. See You After Quarantine?

(Taiwan, Viki) 

Be you never expected lockdown to be comforting? This under appreciated gem is Taiwan’s answer to Gameboys and is just as charming and adorable yet still as quintessentially Taiwanese as one might hope. It features a Japanese love interest and the cutest most confused disaster gay. Slow burn because the two have almost no actual screen time together and yet manage some truly amazing chemistry plus sweetly caring and earnest. Honestly how does Taiwan do it?

5. Ingredients

At the time (during lockdown) many of us referred to this as our “emotional support grocery store advertisement.” If all you want is two soft boys being domestic, cooking together, cuddling on the couch, cat sitting, and babysitting - just put this on and be comfy.

6. What Did You Eat Yesterday?

(Japan, grey) 

Basically the grown up version of Ingredients. Emotionally repressed, grumpy, salary man shows his hair dresser husband his love by cooking amazing meals. That’s it, that’s the whole show. There some queer fam drama, and blood-fam coming out drama, but mostly is husbands cooking and eating together and it’s great. Is it BL? Not really. Do we care? Not really. 

7. The New Employee

(Korea, Viki) 

This one is queer comfort, explicitly. If you aren’t queer you might not find it as warm and engaging. A near pitch perfect office BL with conflict derived from that setting. Also featuring found family and a lesbian bestie. Sweet & innocent (and out) Seung Hyun scores the office internship of his dreams. On his first day at work he gets into it with his cool reserved (and also v gay) boss. 

As you do. 

But things get romantic pretty darn quickly. 

As you gay. 

8. En of Love: Tossera & Future the series

Tossera = Younger boy wants to court older boy and does and… that’s it. No really that’s the WHOLE STORY. There is actually no angst, drama, or, indeed plot. But are they the softest bois ever to BL as a main couple? Yes, yes they are.

Future is... exactly the same thing. 

Are we mad about it? 

Nope. 

9. Oxygen 

(Thailand, YouTube) 

Softest seme in the universe sings his affection to the older boy at the cafe. Let the slow burn courting commence. Oxygen uses every BL trope in the playbook for one of the gentlest lowest angst BLs ever made. It’s a hyung romance (younger boy courts older boy) but very very earnest about it. Am I biased? Sure. This is probably one of my biggest comfort watches. 

10. Our Dining Table 

(Japan, Gaga)

Lonely salaryman and talented cook gets accidentally adopted by a college kid and his little brother. It’s a quiet cozy little parable of found family alleviating loneliness. Possibly too slow for some but definitely high up there for me with the best of what Japan can do (like Restart After Come Back Home), it’s only flaw (if I dare say such a thing) is that it is not really “romantic.” Lovely & sweet but the romance beats are being used to build a family relationship, not just couple intimacy, it’s OK with me, but not totally BL.

For me one of the hallmarks of cozy BL is that as a chronic rewatcher I find myself starting to rewatch these ones even as they are still airing. Oxygen was an icon of this (also my first watch-along and the reason I realized I really had a passion for BL)

Boys Lockdown (YouTube) - actually on this list because it go so many votes by everyone else, I haven’t watched it. 

My Ride (GaGa) - Thai BL grew up with this pulp - a truly lovely and special little show featuring the extremely rare pairing of sunshine/sunshine AKA a cinnamon roll couple. Mature explorations of relationships using one of the softest, sweetest and most innocent friends to lovers vehicles. Kindly, overworked doctor meets broken-hearted motorcycle taxi driver in an “other side of the tracks” slow burn romance. The support cast is excellent, making for great friendship groups and family dynamics. With honest queer rep that adds to, but doesn’t impede the story, and genuine conversation about the nature of class, wealth, and classism, not to mention communication, honesty, and respect for boundaries, you can’t go wrong with this show. In other news, I am a sucker for a single dimple. Full review.

Cherry Magic (Japan, indie subbed) AKA Doutei dato Mahoutsukai ni narerurashii - the sweetest, fluffiest, most charming bit of adorable ever, full of found family and pastry and serious slapstick, the characters are utter spazzes, but so cute about it. Still that aspect makes me a little tense so I don’t find it as cozy as others do.

DNA Says Love You (Gaga) - particularly the last few episodes. 

La Cuisine (GaGa) - sweet and kind of pure show, and like Thai desserts perhaps requires too much patience for a layperson. Because of the pacing and the focus on the bad girl character, I did dock it. But if you like stuff in the Oxygen vein, then this show is for you, and far better than most Thai BL pulps. That said, I suspect that I enjoyed it more than many would. Full review.

Plus when they were together, they were ridiculously soft. But it also had a realistic portrayal of university life, bisexual awakening, and friendship groups. Ending is okay but a victim of lockdown.

I really like how the concepts of Gods really vary in different places, I noticed that in recent Fictions, like Elden Ring for example, their Gods are something unimaginable and unexplainable, almost they're just concepts not actual living creatures (You really never see these Gods but just avatars/representives of them)

Then there are the myths and tales where Gods are very closely related to Humans and they're not so different from Humans, it feels wholesome in such similar dynamics between Gods and Humans

These diverse ideas of Gods are difficult to grasp but they are so fun to enjoy

It's not just the idea of gods having human personalities and flaws and close interactions with humanity that's interesting. It's also that, in many cases, there isn't a clear line of segregation between the divine and the human.

Like the idea of immortal-hood, where any regular humans who practice Daoist cultivations can theoretically become immortal and gain supernatural abilities.

The "humanity" goes further than ascension to immortal-hood, though. The way Chinese folk religion functions can kinda be summed up as "If it works, it gets worshipped."

Ghosts get worshipped and made into local gods because 1) they've done good things in life, or 2) their unnatural death endows their soul with a potentially dangerous power that needs to be placated through worship.

Yaoguais——spirits of inanimate objects and animals——get worshipped too because the prayers and offerings worked, in either granting blessings or stopping troubles.

And bargaining with low-level local gods and spirits is a pretty common folk religion thing, in both historical and modern times. Yijian Zhi has a story where the guy scolded the Tudi for allowing his father's house to be haunted, even threatening to destroy his shrine.

Same goes for some modern folk gods in northern rural China, like the "car gods" and "livestock gods". If the family's cars malfunctioned or the livestocks got sick, they'd actually withhold offerings and worship until the next year, to punish the gods for not doing their jobs!

That fun trivia aside: I feel like both the personable and abstract, the everyday and high-up deities have their places.

Folk gods draw my own interest because they are so closely integrated into daily life, and reflect changes and continuities in that life. But the ineffable, non-human ones also reflect a different aspect of life and thoughts, whether it's religious, cultural or intellectual.

Megatron feels "familiar" to them. He's got "good vibes." Megatron is just bluscreening at something so small and fragile, trusting him entirely.

I think caretaking would actually be good for Rodimus, given how he improves when pushed and for caring about others. He would be thrilled by the kids' first colors.

Co-Captain Co-Parent Bonding.

I feel like Cygate would be the ones bonding with Jawbreaker, and I see Whirl having a soft spot for all of them, but maybe being the one taking Twitch flying. The relationship helps ease tension between him and Megatron.

Rewind and Swerve would be Hashtag's favorite people. I can see her getting dragged into (very willingly) investigations with Nightbeat.

Nightshade would have so much fun with the Science Crew (Simpatico + Nautica). They have like half a dozen science dad/moms by the time this is done. Because then we get adventurers Anode and Lug and Wheeljack calling and seeing a whole baby behind Perceptor.

Thunderclash is there, and I see them being delighted by each other.

Ravage has grandchildren know and is going to make sure they are raised right.

Minimus, meanwhile, is one of the two people on the ship who has a sibling and is actually able to navigate this unique relationship with them, making him a pretty big important person for them for advice and dealing with any tensions.

Rung is never forgotten by the kids who see him.

Exactly and everyone's just got "???????" vibes going on because this is Megatron these newbuilds are cuddling up to. I'm imagining the hilarious image of one or so of the kids sleeping on Megs and he dares not to move lest he wake them up (probably a very young Twitch), and that works both for here and for regular earthspark

I in general feel like Anode will take quite an interesting in the kids' story

I'm getting the image of the kids absolutely getting along with Thunderclash and all Roddie can think is "damn it, them too?!?"

Ravage will exactly raise them right if it's the last thing he does. Which it may or may not be.

A bit of storytime

Okay, this week I wrote about some pretty heavy stuff in regards of capitalism and all of that. So, let me end the week with something more light and maybe just a bit inspiring.

I want to tell you the story of how my roomie radicalized herself.

Now, my roomie and I are living together for about three years now. And when we met she made a big big point about being centrist. And about making fun of everyone and, quote, "hating all people equally".

You should know, my roomie is female, queer and disabled. Her boyfriend is also disabled (like badly disabled - he is blind and in a wheelchair). But she still was very, very centrist and in the lines of "police is actually good" and "communism is a bad word".

By now she isn't. And the story of how it got there is kinda a funny one.

When we moved in together, I was already starting to identify as anarchist, while she did not want to hear anything about that. In fact she made a rule of not discussing politicis with me. And she stuck by that. While I was radicalizing myself further through seeing how capitalism failed us in the pandemic, she... didn't.

That was until June 2021. When she suddenly came to my room and was like: "So, the police is actually bad, isn't it?" I, dumbstruck, was like: "Uhm, yeah. Obviously. Where does this come from?" And she replied: "Yeah, I just heard what they are doing to the indigenous people in the USA and Canada. And that is bad, right?"

Me, who at that point had been following indigenous rights movements for a good while was like: "Yeah. Sure. Uhm, do you want some reading material on that?" And while she did not want reading stuff, she took the podcasts I offered for it eagerly.

I still got curious, though. Where did this come from? So I did some prodding. Asking her about it. And it turned out... It came from true crime.

June is not only pride month, it is also indigenous peoples month. And one of the true crime channels on Youtube she was following did a whole month worth of videos on MMIW, which also went into how the police are not following up on those cases or are, at times, responsible for what is happening in the first place.

And this was, what convinced her that, indeed, the police might not be a good thing.

Now, outside from giving her those Podcasts recommendations, I did not do a thing. I did not go all anarcho-communist on her or anything. I just... let her roll with it. And rolling she did. In the end she came out on the socialist-communist end of it. Because it turns out that you barely can learn about decolonialisation and indigenous rights, without ending up at this point.

Why am I telling you this?

Mostly, because I found it kinda wholesome. The fact that she did not go and end up left-wing because she realized the harm done to herself by the system - but because she realized the harm done to other people and found it unaccaptable.

It is also showing one thing: Usually the entire pro-capitalist worldview needs just one little crack to crumble.

Personally I found, that for many the crack is climate change. But as you can see... It is not the only possible crack that can happen.

Which is why it actually is important to teach people. And be it online.

We also need action, yes. But also education. Because education is our friend.

Not sure if I’m genuinely aroace because I was ab*sed but I DEFINITELY use h/c and whump as substitutes for sex. I always feel guilty when everyone wants to ban inappropriate sex in stories but no one cares about banning my jam because to me, it is what sex is to normal people. And guilty about how I use to preach to my friends for wanting premarital sex when what I fantasize about (even if I don’t really want it irl) is so so much worse. Aaaand guilty about how my response to childhood ab*se, ie becoming virtually sexless and substituting violence is more accepted than the victims who process it by writing similar things. Just grateful for posts that let me know I’m not the only weirdo in the world

I'm glad the whump community is making you feel like you're not the only one!! This is a ramble but I really want to say a couple things:

Quick thing: you don't have to censor the word abuse - obviously carry on if you're doing that for your own peace and not wanting to type it but I say it openly on this account. I don't think it affects whether posts are shown and even if it did, I wouldn't mind. You never have to feel ashamed of talking openly about your abuse history in any way, including using direct words.

It's really cool that people explore their desire for intimacy through hurt/comfort instead of sex. I am not aroace myself (for me, it's more tied to sex like a kink rather than a direct substitute) but I think it's amazing that the human mind can do that. People will truly adapt and find ways to connect with each other if the typical pathways aren't working for them. This is not a bad thing or something to feel guilty for, it's beautiful.

I am not aroace, but I WAS asexual, or thought I was, for a long time. And I'm almost certain it was because of childhood abuse. Becoming "virtually sexless" is an okay response - sex can get associated with trauma, and it is absolutely okay to not want to touch it again for a while or ever. It's also valid to just not want sex to begin with and to be more interested in other ways of exploring intimacy. Being sexless is not anything to be guilty for.

Going more in-depth about not feeling guilty: I don't know that fantasizing about hurt/comfort is "worse" than sex. The desire to make someone happy, to bring someone from their lowest point to their highest...I truly don't think there's anything wrong with that. If anything, it is more productive than sex. It can have a lasting positive impact on people's lives. Yes, it involves one person being hurt initially, but people in this world ARE hurt. They're so hurt, and often have no one to comfort and heal them. Both in dramatic ways and in everyday life. Every day people get sick, people have long days, people have trauma. And we are all supposed to move on and ignore that - to be tough, to be independent, to keep working, to not touch topics that are "dangerously" sad. Whump presents a vision of a kinder path. It seems very wholesome to me, to want to witness others' pain and sit with its emotional importance, and comfort someone out of it. Or to want that done for you, to want to be open-hearted and vulnerable with people, if you're taking the perspective of the whumpee. I don't think there's anything wrong with dwelling on that and taking pleasure from it.

Overall I wish you lots of luck and happiness and pride in whump! There are indeed lots of people like you and I hope you feel accepted.

Hi ! I just finished Rise and I have so many thoughts:

At first glance, this has potential to be a wholesome romance but I know dark!rafe is coming… my mind is going to potential kidnapping and false imprisonment ? Since he keeps saying he would not leave without her 🤔

I am still debating if I am scared for or of the sister. She has as much potential to be a nuissance to rafe or for wanting to take revenge against any eventual slide against her brother !

Sayyed is an interesting character, in real life he would probably get on my nerves a little not going to lie but he seems to be self aware and not afraid to apologise to people when needed. We’re dealing with someone a little more emotionally mature than Rafe there… We’re in for a ride I feel like 🤣

Also wanted to commend you for taking the time to build an entire dystopian world for your fic ! This is not as common on fan fictions but oh so cool. Truly incredible !

as for nuha, this i don’t mind spoiling. i haven’t had much opportunity to flesh her out since i have so many characters & that’s my b, but nuha is a soft character. protective, yes, but she isn’t capable of true harm. but hey! if you’re feeling conflicted thoughts toward her then i feel very satisfied w that as i prefer writing characters that are more than one-dimensional.

the sayyed hate train is killing me🤣 i definitely didn’t intend for him to get on people’s nerves but i’m not mad about it. but yes, hes very emotionally mature & well aware of himself, which 100% makes him & rafe strong adversaries (there will indeed be much more turmoil between the two moving forward)🫣

“So, I got asked to do the puppy interview.”

You looked up from your book and over to your husband, “Oh, you should definitely do it.”

He snuggled up close, “Yeah?”

“I like dogs, Clara likes dogs, so yeah.”

“Do I like dogs?”

“I’m pretty sure you do.”

“Well so far, I’ve had no issue with them. I prefer them to people most of the time.”

“There we go. And they’re cute and fluffy.”

“I like cute and fluffy.”

You were scratching his head like you would a puppy, “You’re cute and fluffy.” He was smiling like a puppy. “You should definitely do it.”

“Okay, should I bring-?”

“No, do not bring Clara with you.” You stopped with the scratching to prove a serious point.

“Why not?”

“She’s a naughty little Velociraptor. She’ll find some way of stealing the puppies and then end up asking you if she can keep them and you’ll say yes.”

Dieter sighed, “I do have a hard time saying no to her.”

The head scratching started up again, “You do.”

“I have a hard time saying no to you.”

“I wouldn’t ask you to adopt a bunch of puppies.”

“No, you ask me to do things I’d really like to do. Sexy things” he was now snuggling your neck with his lips, but you had gone back to your book.

“I really want to finish this chapter.”

“I can wait.”

A few weeks later Dieter informed you that the puppy interview video was up and running. Clara poked her head out from behind her father’s leg which she had been clinging to the moment he walked in the door.

“Puppy?” Those questioning eyes said I heard the word puppy and was immediately interested.

Dieter leaned down and asked her, “Do you want to watch daddy in a puppy video?”

“Puppy!” she exclaimed and lifted her arms up as if to say Yes parents, let us indulge in this puppy video. Now pick me up so I can get to watch it faster. Also, cuddles are required.

So, you were all cuddled up on the couch in front of the TV to watch the video of Dieter sitting on the floor amongst a litter of puppies.

“I’m glad you wore sensible pants.”

“I’m glad you told me to wear sensible pants.”

The whole video went as one would expect when Dieter is made to ask questions whilst surrounded by puppies: sweet and wholesome.

“Oh, my daughter is going to be so jealous!” said screen Dieter as his face was getting many puppy kisses.

Clara gave her father a look that clearly meant Yes father, I am indeed jealous I was neither informed nor invited to this puppy related event.

She pulled the grumpiest face that mirrored her fathers at his grumpiest. Dieter looked to you, unsure of how to deal with an almost toddler on the verge of tears or a tantrum. You quickly went into mum-mode and thought of a creative solution.

“Oh pumpkin, all those puppies were looking for new parents. I was worried if you went along that you would get mistaken as a cute fluffy puppy and go to where the puppies get adopted and you would end up with new parents.”

She seemed to have believed this story as she gave you a look that read Oh, I did not think of that situation. I would very much not like new parents as you are my favourites.

You cuddled her close, “And we’re going to the pumpkin patch tomorrow, so there will be lots of baby animals, with parents, to play with.”

Her eyes brightened up at the prospect of impending cute animals. “Goat?”

“Yes, you and daddy can play with the baby goats.”

She clapped her hands and exclaimed “Goat!” which can be translated as Excellent! I look forward to the baby goats. I will now demonstrate their head-butting ways on father.

So far chapter 5 has been my favorite so far!

 I am so excited every time you post a update this is generally one of my favorite stories that I have been reading. I can’t tell you how happy it makes me that I can play a ruthless killer character and not be punished for it that my character has a supportive loving family they also just happens to be mafia and killers. And the family is my favorite thing about it everything with Luka and the torture scene and I chose to let him torture and I just hung back and watched just completely dominated everything and I could see why Jackal is so in love with him. all the care and concern he has for our character on top of that? 🥰 and I have a little head cannon that little Zoya(My MC) would call him on the phone and he would just teleport to her whenever she wanted.

And grandpa I started losing it when he sat down next to us and was hugging us and patting our head and telling us how proud of us he was and then my character had like a mini panic attack when she started to think about grandpa and Luka dying, which makes sense considering everything that happened to her that she would lose her shit a little bit at the thought of our only family dying. and I was really curious about what exactly Viktor did for work and I read that he’s a photographer and I thought I remembered you saying somewhere that Ash does photography so did he pick it up from Viktor?

And I really am just as excited if not more for all the family scenes then the romance. I think you’re doing something really special with this story.

And yeah, loving and loyal family is kinda my jam 😄 I really love the wholesome dynamics and of course, whenever MC needs his help and calls him, Luka will instantly teleport there no matter what 🥺 This is canon, even if I’m not sure whether it would appear in the story right now.

Also, Luka’s ruthlessness is indeed one of the things that draw Jackal to him and also vice versa for Luka. They’re both drawn to each other’s deadliness and proficiency in what they do.

Luka be like:

But it is also what kinda made their relationship progressed quite slow 😂 Sure, you can sleep with a person that can technically kill you, but truly fall in love—especially for someone like Jackal who is just very cynical in nature. As long as there are no real feelings attached, they’d find it easier to off the other if they end up betraying or stabbing the other in the back 🤣 But of course that was not what happened between Luka and Jackal.

And yes, poor MC is just constantly fearing and worrying about losing another loved one constantly in the back of their head. They’ve experienced it three times in the span of only a decade 🥲 They cling on to their only family left tightly.

As for your question about Viktor’s profession, he worked as a freelance professional photographer to provide for MC. He had always loved taking photos ever since he was a kid. Grandpa and Grandma bought him polaroid cameras and digital cameras and he had photo albums, and you bet he has a lot one for when MC is growing up 🥰 Sadly… The albums would never be fully completed now and the photos stopped around when MC was nine. Maybe one day… MC can fill it in with pictures of their important moments in their life.

I’m not sure about Ash, I don’t think I said that they’re into photography.. Or did I? I can’t really remember anymore. But they are not supposed to, the closest I think is Skylar because they kinda like arts stuff, like poetry and sketching and painting landscapes (although they are not the best) 😆

Thanks so much for the tag @mthollowell-writes! This is one of my first ever tag-games, so I'm pumped. Also, this made me realize I rly need to do a WIP intro for my main project. It's a dark fantasy/horror with some romance, too. The working title is Fucked Up Fairytale. That aside, let's goooooo

Anything and everything! Writing is my coping mechanism, for good times and bad. It helps me keep hold of happy feelings and release negative ones. 

2) A line/short snippet of your writing that you are most proud/happy of. If not maybe share a line of someone else's work you love (just please credit them)

I have multiple WIPs, but I'm going to refer to the one I plan on actually turning into a book. The working title is Fucked Up Fairytale. That may undergo revisions. Anyhow, I'll share two lines/snippets, if I may! Mainly because the first one is very short indeed. Here it is:

I braced myself for stupidity, and he didn’t let me down. —This is in the main character's (Margot's) narrative inner voice during a conversation with her little brother. 

And here's the other one, same chapter, same conversation! I feel like I may have gone a little overboard with Margot's world-weariness, but I kinda like it:

“The world I dream of has me making six figures at a job where my boss doesn’t need me to show him my tits,” I said, a chill creeping into my tone. “It has me going home at a reasonable hour so I can watch TV and fall asleep with a bag of spicy chips, preferably next to a spouse who doesn’t mind that they make me gassy.”

Neither of us spoke for a couple beats. Then, softly, my brother asked, "And where's the magic in that?"

"Nowhere, Callie. That's kind of the point."

3) Which OC makes you smile every time you think/talk about them and what are they like?

That would apply to Margot's love interest from Fucked Up Fairytale. He's, um… special. To me, and in general. Seeing as he's one of the Folk, it would be unwise to share his name, especially since not even Margot knows it as of right now. He calls himself the Huntsman, so that'll work for now.

He's this rather delicate-looking youngish man; slender, short and long-haired—he's quite pretty, really. And he's the smuggest, most self-satisfied dork you've ever met, but in a sweet, non-threatening way. I just love his and Margot's more wholesome exchanges. They clash a lot; she's a recent university graduate, has been a skeptic all her life and didn't mean to get roped up into any supernatural stuff, and he's this forest-dwelling fairy-like entity. But they end up being really good for each other, despite (or perhaps because of) their differences. Even though their dynamic starts off based purely on physical attraction, it grows into something more and their interactions really feel cathartic at times.

4) What process of writing do you enjoy the most?

I love what happens shortly after getting the idea for something. It's like a little twitch in the brain that grows and grows and it's just… awesome. And I'm not actually doing anything at that stage, so it's also the easiest step. Also, I just love writing dialogue.

5) What part of writing do you think you are the best at? (Yes stroke your own ego it's okay)

I think that's also writing dialogue! Not much else to say there. Oh, and nature descriptions sometimes. I've been told my nature descriptions are beautiful.

6) What is something in the writeblr community is most enjoyable?

How passionate everyone is! We all do the same thing, we write, and we all love doing it. And there's such an undertone of positivity to it all, of openness. That's really nice.

7) A writing tool/device you use that helps you with writing? (It could be speech to text, a writing program etc)

Oof. This one's too hard for me. I'm honestly struggling with a lot of writing software so… I don't have a good answer to that. 

8) A piece of worldbuilding that you like in your own story? (It could be the magic system, a particular place in the story, a law etc)

The majority of Fucked Up Fairytale takes place in a single location. It's a magical forest that is its own entity, almost deity-adjacent. Certain characters worship it to gain its protection and power, but it can also be dangerous, trapping humans and turning them into so something they're… not. 

I just really like that forest! I enjoy describing it, I enjoy creating new creatures it may be harboring, I enjoy lending this seemingly inanimate idyllic environment a personality that kind of shines through in a lot of scenes. I almost wish it were real. Almost.

9) What piece of advice would you say to encourage others to write if they are having a rough patch?

I'm with you.

That's all I, or anyone, can really offer, I believe. I've dealt with month-long dry spells, really horrible ones. I know it's shitty, I know it sucks. My advice, if I had any, would be to force yourself to write anyways. It's the only way to get back into it, and you should never ever give up writing. Writing is worth it.

Well, obviously I'm gonna have to mention @prismatic-bell who once wrote a wonderful thirty-part fanfic to one of my stories and is, in fact, amazing. Xe has contributed greatly to a lot of my stories and I will be forever grateful for that. Also @rehnwriter who helped me set up my blog because I'm bad at internet stuff and need constant surveillance.

Hello. So, yes, hey there. Hello again. Speechless at that last chapter (damn). Wholesome. So awkward too. And amazing.

So lol, finally didn't do something and still got caught! And a tiny kiss, at least (the understatement of the year, "tiny kiss").

I can't with Patroclus still expecting Peleus to explode, poor thing won't forget. Expecting him to shout, to beat him up, something, and while the silence is unsettling, him waiting for that is depressing.

I don't know if it was intentional, it probably was, but it was kinda like Achilles was expecting Pat to say he loved him too?? Or did i totally misinterpret it? Because ngl, i too was expecting it so it may be that, but just. "Thanks"??

I'm sorry if this was just an uncalled-for ramble in your askbox, feel free to ignore it. I just. It was a rollercoaster of a chapter, i love how the story is going and i also love your way of writing them <3.

Spoilers for Ch.13 of you're a walking disaster and yet- ahead!!

That was a kiss indeed 😂 I think Achilles is a "go big or go home" person LOL so he wouldn't just settle with a tiny kiss. He had to have the whole experience. Or as much as he could before they were interrupted in any case akzhaqhs

Patroclus' feelings regarding Peleus (his current father figure) and his own father are kind of complicated and they make me really emotional ngl :')) Like, he’s still so scared that at some point he'll do something so terrible that Peleus will get really mad at him and kick him out of the house, the same way Menoetius kicked him out of his. That fear has never left him, and also!!! I think seeing Peleus, who is usually so calm and pleasant, get into such heated fights with Thetis rattled him more than he’s admitted to himself because of the memories it brought up for him: his father getting angry and abusing both him and Philomela. And while Peleus, even though he's a largely checked out parent, would never physically hurt him or Achilles, the silent treatment he’s giving them is its own kind of abuse which is sadly very prevalent in so many families. So yeah things aren't great right now honestly!!!!

Ahaha Achilles was totally expecting Patroclus to say "I love you" back to him, or at least some kind of acknowledgement of his feelings. Like he’s going ALL OUT and being brave and trying to make Pat understand, or at least test the waters, and Pat is like "in a totally friendly way right? Like bros right?" 😂 He just doesn't want to get it!!!!!

But also like. They've both grown up in households where people don't really say stuff like "I love you" or "you mean so much to me" (other than Pat's mom maybe) so like Pat is so taken aback in that moment that he can’t really think of a cohesive answer that doesn't suck LMAO so his mind is just "fuck fuck FUCK" 😂 They're both like.... so incredibly devoted and loyal, they're each other’s ride or die in everything, like Patroclus literally faced one of his greatest fears of getting into trouble and having people be displeased with him just so Achilles wouldn't be alone, but they're both so so awkward about feelings. (It's kind of a cultural thing as well, I think. Showing care with actions rather than words) They're both trying so hard though :') I love them so
