MONTHLY MEDIA: March 2024
……….FILM……….
Dune: Part Two (2024) Every piece of technology felt and looked so tangible. The baby worm too! Love the tactile nature of this whole production and I hope studios take note that CG can't be the only tool in your belt. So much bigger than I imagined and just enjoyed the whole thing.
Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008) Ages surprisingly well and a script that lets the main quartet be both funny and layered.
……….TELEVISION……….
Columbo (1.01 to 1.03) Hey I'm starting Columbo! Love that each episode is feature-length and Columbo appears fully formed right out of the gate. The sets and costumes are all so glamorous and L.A. Very excited to keep going.
Succession (2.05 to 3.04) The Kendall play at the end of season 2 felt very much like the Kendall play at the end of season 1 and while I'm still a huge fan of this series, I just hope it's not the same going into season 3 and 4.
Delicious in Dungeon (Episode 1.09 to 1.13) Great adaptation that isn't just a straight recreation of the artwork in the manga. The more kinetic/frantic moments in the animation are a nice departure and while they don't pop up in each episode, now that I'm 13 eps deep I can appreciate how they're sprinkled throughout.
Love is Blind (Episode 6.02 to 6.13) It still amazes me that anyone goes on reality tv.
……….YOUTUBE……….
Twilight | ContraPoints by ContraPoints Yes I did watch a nearly 3-hour essay on Twilight, sexual expression, and all that comes with that. And you should too. VIDEO
Instagram fatigue and the rise of 'Resentment Reels' by Taylor Lorenz While I haven't noticed this specific phenomenon, I have noticed Instagram declining as an app (both as a user trying to see anything other than ads, and a creator trying to get my work seen in between those ads). It's a bummer. VIDEO
Saltburn: The Tumblr-ification of Cinema by Broey Deschanel Every since I saw Saltburn, I've been thinking about what wasn't quite sitting right with me. This unlocked a lot of what I couldn't describe and most of it stems from the writer/director's upper class upbringing. Saltburn isn't a "take down the rich" movie, it's a horror story from the perspective of a wealthy family. VIDEO
Why Is It So Hard To Cross The Street? (& What You Can Do To Help) by Strong Towns Accidents where drivers hit a pedestrian are going up in my area so this really hit home. And for those feeling like there's nothing you can do at ground level, consider taking their course (not a paid sponsorship I'm just in real support of community-lead initiatives). VIDEO
……….READING……….
Elric of Melniboné by Michael Moorcock (Complete) After picking up the last book in this series (which I've yet to read) I figured I'd start at the beginning. Love the fast pace pulpy action and I can see how this influenced the creation of D&D.
The Man in the Brown Suit by Agatha Christie (Complete) This one would lose me for stretches but the final quarter of the book is stronger. A lot less cozy and a lot more action than I was expecting but skimming other reviews it sounds like this was written during her more...adventure-focused era. Three books deep and I have to give Christie credit that each has been a completely different experience.
Adventures of a Japanese Business Man by Jose Domingo (Complete) Always love going back to this nearly wordless epic that follows the titular Japanese business man. I love the complexity of the earliest panels and wish that could carry throughout more of the book, but it's always such a treat to discover just where each new panel will go.
Delicious in Dungeon Volume 5 by Ryoko Kui (Complete) Enjoying rereading this with shorter breaks between volumes as I certainly missed/forgot details on my first read. It's here that the story and tone shifts from light romp to a more dramatic and dangerous affair but it never loses its spot-on humour. Love those dryad pumpkins.
Ultimate Spider-Man HC Volume 11 by Brian Michael Bendis, Stuart Immonen, David Lafuente, and more (Complete) Going from some of my other comics back to this, I'm struck by just how wordy it can get. Now knowing where the story goes, it was a great idea to prime readers to the idea of Peter Parker dying even if it's not from this event.
……….AUDIO……….
Blank Check with Griffin & David (Podcast) Late to the game on this but really enjoying burning through their back catalog. Obviously started with their episode on Speed Racer as it's a near perfect film that you should watch right now.
……….GAMING……….
Oz: A Fantasy Role-Playing Setting (Andrews McMeel Publishing) The Tuesday group just killed a mayor! So the aftermath of that is going to play out over the next couple of sessions. And the Mof1 crew is investigating the aftermath of their own district-wide catastrophe and it's all looking rather suspicious!
Spot It (Blue Orange Games) I can't recommend this game enough. It's so easy to learn, rounds last maybe 5 minutes, it plays well with small or large groups of any age, and all it requires is pattern recognition and quick reflexes. Every time I've played this someone says they're going to buy a copy for themselves.
And that's it. See you in April!

Welcome To Demon School! Iruma-Kun Volume 1: The Misfits
It's been several years at this point since I stumbled across Iruma-Kun as an anime. Three seasons deep with all sorts of content and arcs, and a mountain of manga chapters and volumes I never thought I'd get in English. But it's here. Somehow, it's made it here and I'm endlessly excited about that. How does it measure up to the anime? How does the source material differ? What's the art style like? Is there any dropped content? How does the pacing compare? So, so many questions that I can finally answer.
The short of it though? People should absolutely be picking up this manga. It's friendly and welcoming for all ages without feeling too childish or mature, Kodansha's giving it a nice and quick release schedule, it's got 3 Seasons of anime to watch to see if you'll like it, and there's plenty of spinoffs that have a chance to make it over here if this release does well!
⚠️Warning: Spoilers Ahead⚠️
I think the most noticeable difference is in the art. To summarize it, Nishi's style in the manga is rather different to the anime. It's what you might call malleable. The proportions, lighting, even aspects of the core character design ebb and flow depending on the scene they're in. Line thickness and texture moves around, shading and color differs from character to character, and even chibi designs have wiggle room in how they're shown.
It's really interesting, because through these 4 panels, there's not really a stellar amount of visual similarity in how things are drawn. The shading on Iruma's (top left) clothes vs Kalego's (bottom right) is different, and Kalego's hair has shading and texture while Iruma's doesn't. Azz-Kun (bottom left) has heavy line weight while Sullivan (top right) is a far lighter line weight. It's incredibly curious, because I wouldn't say any of these pages bear much resemblance to one another in how they're drawn, but they're undeniably all from the same artist. It's a really great feat to provide so much consistent variance in art style for the series.
Alongside that, I must say I'm impressed with the paneling as well. You can get a really solid grasp of it from Iruma and Azz-Kun's pages above. There's a lot of variance and different approaches to similar content.
There's different perspectives, angles, and everything keep it all fresh and interesting, and the shapes of the panels are really commendable. It constantly refuses to use clear cut rectangles and squares, and tries its damnedest to put a creative spin on it. Even in pages like this one, all of the panels have an irregular side. At least one line in the rectangle is angled or cut off. It's such a simple thing, but it makes it such a more interesting read as you're not constantly looking at a bunch of plain squares.
Though, I guess I should take a break from the visual stuff, and talk about story, yeah?
I'm pretty surprised, there's a lot of great moments from the anime that were extrapolated from very minimal context or interaction, and even some that don't appear in the manga. Inconsequential pieces in terms of story, but really great work to expand on the nature and feel of the manga.
Saying that though, there's just as many moments that go shot for shot between the two, like Iruma and Azz-Kun's fight.
Or Iruma's entrance into the Misfit's classroom.
In addition to that, it's really cool to see how well planned this story is. Being a manga you get to soak up those pieces a lot better, and notice background details and things like that. Just take a look at this panel. Yes, Clara's in it, but there's somebody on the left side as well. Jazz makes an appearance here, and for good reason! Such a fun little detail, and just one example of many that exist within the manga that either didn't make it to the anime, or that I didn't notice in the anime.
Now, the elephant in the room: Lied. His early design is certainly something. I wouldn't say I hate it, but I also wouldn't deny that I vastly prefer his newer/current design a hundred times over. Basically the only design that sees noticeable change through the story, and for good reason. Also, Kerori in the background.
Also, I really just have to give it up for Nishi's art. You get a taste of it in the anime, but it feels so much stronger throughout this first volume of the manga. They like their perspective pieces, and they really like playing with heaver line weight to create tension and energy, and I'm all for it. It's a really fluid experience overall, and is great at selling readers on a more dynamic feel to the art and characters.
Pieces like this where the lines of the panels begin to warp and change, just such cool details that really show how pervasive Nishi's style is to the overall work, how when the style shifts, the whole perception of the sequence does.
I also feel like this spread is a really great example of why I like Nishi's character designs. They're all incredibly unique, and share very little to tie them to one another. All different outfits, proportions, and features. Clara's got a completely different style to Iruma, who's got a completely different style to Azz-Kun. It's a world of characters in a single story, and really never gets old.
And lastly, here's one of those perspective pieces I was talking about earlier. Nishi doesn't blindly use it to make for cool and more 3 dimensional panels or pages, but to convey something. A stretched out panel of Iruma fretting over being a human at a demon school, or in this case, a skewed perspective to sell the scale and grandeur of the Demon King. We're only at his feet, out of the entirety of his presence, Nishi is showing us where we're at in the story currently. It's a really great idea that just blends implicitly with "big Demon King is cool as hell".
So, at the end of this first volume, I'm thoroughly impressed with both the anime and the manga. The anime really grasps the material well and finds a way to heighten a lot of it, while the manga loses very little expression despite its relative handicap to the anime. Both are undeniably great, and both are certainly worth experiencing.
The energy remains apparent, the story is untouched and in its purest form, the art is all over the place in the best way, and the feel of Iruma-Kun is still so wonderfully strong. The silly nature that will have you breaking out in a laugh at the smallest things remains, and that warm feeling you get from the cuter moments is still there. It's still the same Iruma-Kun I know and love from the anime, and still places at the top of shounen manga that everybody should give a chance.

HOW TO PLAY
Last updated 5/3/2024
What is this?
This is a collaborative story about Hubert von Vestra from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. The goal of the game is to help Hubert have a perfectly normal day without too much excitement or fanfare.
The story progresses based on the results of the poll at the end of each chapter. The gameplay is intended to emulate old text-based adventure games (and, yes, Homestuck).
Mostly, this is an excuse for me to draw silly stuff and make stupid websites.
---
What do I do?
Be Hubert.
Vote for the action you want Hubert to take.
????
Profit
---
OK but seriously how do you play this?
I'll draw a panel and write a post. The end of the post will contain a poll or other question to decide where the story goes next.
You can help direct the story by:
Voting in the poll
Providing a custom response in the post tags or replies
Asking for clarification or details via ask or by replying to the post, ex. in the replies on this post
In each post, words that appear in BOLD CAPITAL LETTERS have definitions in Hubert's JOURNAL. The first time a defined word appears in a post, it will link to the part in the journal where the definition appears. Any subsequent time the word appears in the post, it will only be BOLDED AND CAPITALIZED.
The post may also contain links to minigames I've made (ex. the coffee game) or to other pages on my website that are related to the game (ex. Hubert's inventory, aka his pocket). I don't intend to link to any other websites, but if I do end up linking to another site in the post, I'll give a heads up.
Depending on the choices made in the story, Hubert's mental state may be affected. You will want to keep that in mind when voting. Remember: YOU are Hubert. And you want to have a perfectly normal day.
---
How does voting work?
Options for Hubert to take will be listed in a poll at the end of each post. The poll duration will be one day. When the time has elapsed, Hubert will take the highest-voted action. I'll write/draw how it plays out, then post a new poll to choose the next action.
Polls will have a minimum of four options representing potential actions for Hubert to take. Three or more will be preset options, and the last will be an "Other/Write-In" option for a custom response.
---
How does the Other/Write-In/Something Else option work?
If you vote for Other in the poll, please provide the action you want Hubert to take by leaving a reply on the post or in the tags.
---
If the Other/Write-In/Something Else option wins, how will a response be selected?
I don't know yet! We'll find out together. Either I'll take the most common response, I'll pick one at random, or I'll just choose the one I think is funniest.
---
How will the story play out?
I have an outline for the story. To the best of my ability, I'm going to try and keep it on track, but I'm leaving most of it to the winds of chance. If things start to really get off-track, I may eliminate the write-in option and just give three preset choices, but here's hoping it doesn't come to that.
---
When does the game update?
The game will update after the current poll has expired and whenever I get around to drawing and writing the response. I'm making an attempt to turn things around in 24-48 hours after the poll ends, but who knows how long I'll keep that up.
Note that many of the pages for game mechanics, such as the JOURNAL and Mind Wasteland, are updated almost as often as new posts are made, depending on how the story plays out. You might want to keep an eye on those.
---
Something is broken/not working on one of the webpages.
UH-OH! That's not good!
If you run into any problems with the site(s), please refresh the page and, if it's still not working, check back in 5-10 minutes. I'm coding this like a lazy person (read: rawdogging it without version control—yeehaw!) so it's entirely possible that if something is busted, it's because I'm actively tinkering with the site.
If it stays busted for more than 5-10 minutes, or if you run into responsiveness or accessibility issues, please shoot me a DM or an ask and I'll try to get it fixed shortly. Your help is appreciated!
---
I have a question about the current poll options/a game mechanic.
Send me your question via a reply on the post or an ask and I'll get you an answer :0)
---
STORY DETAILS
What knowledge do I need going into this game?
The game is set just over two years after the end of Fire Emblem: Three House’s Crimson Flower route. Consider that route utterly spoiled.
There may be references to events that have happened in my post-war fanfic series, In the Days After. However, you don't need to have read the series to know what's going on in the game. Hubert will also keep notes on anything that is relevant in his journal and you can reference the information there.
(FYI: the journal, minigames, and related tools are not hosted on tumblr and are instead on my own website for formatting/organization purposes. I'll give a heads up if linking to any pages not on this blog or my own website.)
---
Does this include DLC or FEW: Three Hopes content?
Sorry, I’m a fake fan. I haven’t played Three Hopes or the FE3H DLC and have a child’s knowledge of what happens in either of those games. I’m sticking with my area of expertise.
---
What ships appear in this game?
It's my story and I'm gonna make it gay. As of, uhhh, right now, these are the confirmed ships:
Hubert / Ferdinand
Edelgard / F!Byleth
Dorothea / Petra

Starscream x Megatron (lemon)
Erm so I genuinely don't know what happened, I hope you enjoy? I'm horrible at writing smut, and sometimes I'm AMAZING with details, other times I genuinely look like a child trying to give details 💀 Anyways, enjoyyy~
Warnings: Oral, spanking, degrading, leash/pet play(?), breeding. Oh yeah there's aftercare :3
Rating: Mature
Starscream, the infamous second in command, was in his room, relaxing after a long flight. He was lying on his bed, humming and listening to soft tunes he found from an earth app. He had been gone for a while and he needed to unwind.
He heard a knock at the door, and he got up to answer it, expecting Knockout to come asking for help with buffing for the sixth time this week. It was Megatron, to his surprise. "Megatron!" The seeker exclsimed, rather excitedly as he opened the door wider. "I assume you know why I'm here?" Megatron asked, his smirk almost apparent. Starscream, who was a little too excited for his own liking, nodded. "Come- Come right in! I wasn't expecting it to be today..." He said, wings fluttering and flicking.
Megatron raised an optic ridge, crossing his arms as he walked in. "Is that so?" He asked with a bigger smirk. "Ahem, yes..." Starscream fiddled with his digits, a sheepish smile on his faceplates. "Then I expect you to know what I'm going to do to you?" He stepped closer, hooking his servo around the TIC's waist. "For... The most part..." He refused to make optic contact, until Megatron hooked a digit onto his chin and made him look. "Then bend over your berth, plates off."
As if just some drone, he obediently bent over, releasing his plates to show his half erect spike and glazed over valve. "My my Starscream, such a slut, hmm?" Megatron chuckled, using his pointer digit to swipe fluids from his puffy grey valve and lick it. "So sweet too..." Starscream awaited for the sensual pain to be inflicted upon his aft burner. When he felt nothing, he groaned and looked back. "Mm, apologies. I am merely admiring the view." Megatron chuckled, before swatting his aft. Starscream arched his backstrut, whimpering. He hit again. And again. And again, until the seeker was sobbing, wiped fluids pricking at the edges of his optics. "Dear Primus! Please my liege, no more teasing.." Sure he wanted to be spanked, but he became more and more needy for him.
Megatron pulled away, kissing his aft. He then lifted his hips, making Starscream yelp. "I think I'd much prefer a view on my face." Megatron purred seductively. Starscream opened his intake to question, before situated on the warlords faceplates. Starscream, of course embarrassed, whined and groaned, hiding his face. "I swear, you're such a te- a-aH! Lord Megatron! Frag!" He cried out, wings shooting up, optics open wide.
Megatron thoroughly enjoyed the noises he received, and he needed more. He sucked and lapped at him, growling possessively and digging his digits into Starscream's thighs and hips. Megatron felt like Primus himself had praised him with such a glory. The seeker had begged for a while now to do something intimate with him. Sure, they were getting better with their own 'friendship', but he never knew he'd quite enjoy this.
Starscream rode his face, feeling his overload begin to approach rapidly. But before he could get that last feel, feel the overload claim his valve, Megatron pulled away. "You overload only on my spike. You got that, seeker?" Megatron growled.
Starscream was tossed onto the floor, almost fully collapsing. Starscream groaned and rubbed his helm. He opened his optics, being yanked once more, and being leashed. "What in-" He groaned when his spike was stepped on. "Don't talk." He obeyed, huffing. Megatron sat on his berth, opening his panel and holding his spike. Not like he needed to, it was already so erect it stood on its own.
"Suck. Make me proud, Starscream." Starscream crawled over, gently grabbing the erection and kissing the tip. He slowly sank his intake down, taking all but maybe an inch. He gagged, optics rolling back. He slowly relaxed his frame, before moving up and down slowly. He heard the mech above him groan, and he figured that just have been good.
"Such a pathetic slut. All you do is whine and beg and act so goddamn pathetic... And mh, your spike is so small! Quite a pathetic thing. Primus I'm going to claim you in so many ways, it'll hurt when I'm done..." He pressed his pede tip against the seekers spike, slowly grinding and making the seeker whimper and whine, grind onto his pede. He sucked harder, trying to taste his fluids. And the twitching could only indicate one thing; he was close.
"Enough." Megatron growled, ripping his helm off of his spike. He gripped his chin, looking over him. He spit on his face and pushed him off. "So pathetic." The degrading should have hurt. Starscream knew that. But it didn't. It aroused him more, made him want to beg for more.
Starscream panted and looked at the mech with almost pleading optics. "Come," Megatron commended gently, letting off of his spike "sit on my lap Starscream." Starscream slowly climbed up onto him, straddling his hips. "Mm, my liege..." The seeker groaned softly, looking up to the mech. He took a slow sniff of the air, since the warlords intake was slightly open. No high-grade, no dark Energon, nothing. Maybe Megatron was just in a good mood? He waited for some response. Anything. "Starscream... Mm, you know, I've often fantasized about seeing you do submissive and vulnerable for me. Optics so heavy with lust, frame coated with condensation. Now here I am. The reason you're so submissive. What ever did I do to deserve you?" Starscream wasn't expecting to hear that. He expected something so... Kind? It wasn't exactly kind, but it was definitely kinder than 'pathetic slut'. Not that he didn't enjoy it during berth room time, but still.
"I... I don't understand the question, my liege." Starscream said softly. Megatron grunted and nodded, lifting him up and dropping him onto his spike. Starscream yelped and arched his backstrut, whining out and sobbing. He gripped Megatron's shoulders tightly, digging his slim digits into his shoulder plating.
"Primus, slag, have you always been this tight? I need to interface with you more if so..." Megatron growled out, opening his intake and clamping down into his shoulder. The bite made Starscream whine louder, frame trembling. "Lord Megatron, m- My liege, I beg of you, harder..." He said in just barely a whisper. Megatron lifted him, before slamming him down again. He continued with his harsh thrusts, hitting into him faster and harder, growling into the mechs audio receptor. "You're mine Starscream... You understand that?! You're mine!" Megatron growled possessively, frame trembling while he grasped the seeker. He craved Starscream in ways he forgot he could ever feel. He kissed the wound, licking it gently. The way he touched him made Starscream wither and desperately buck against him.
Megatron reached down to rub his outer-node, making the seeker cry louder. Starscream whimpered and sobbed, feeling washed fluids start to seep out of his closed optics. Megatron pulled him closer, rutting into him like a wild animal in heat. Starscream could only make poor excuses for words, whining and crying. He had a hard time doing much of anything, so the hard force was almost too much.
"I'm going to fucking breed you, slut... I'll make you mind once and for all. You got that?! You'll bare my sparklings like the slut you are.." Megatron growled out to him. Starscream wanted to beg. To ask for more, but all he could make was whines and loud cries of the warlords name. "Dear Primus, Megatron! Gh! Please I'm so close, I'm so close!" He managed to say after collecting himself. "Overload for me. Show me just how much you enjoy my spike!" Megatron growled louder, forcing his spike deeper. Starscream overloaded, optics whiting out. He cried in ecstasy, making a mess of pink liquid onto the sheets and his thighs. Megatron bucked up once more, completely filling the mechs tanks. "Such a good mech... So good... Mm.." Megatron he spoke softly, sighing. Megatron kissed his helm, pulling out his depressurized spike. He cradled Starscream, watching as the seeker slowly fell into recharge. He kissed Starscream, Starscream's kiss lousy. He instantly fell asleep, embraced in Megatron's arms. "Good good mech... My good mech... You're my good mech.." He spoke to him with such gentle words, his voice trembling as if afraid he would disappear. He fell asleep after a while of watching him, smiling to himself. He was content. And he didn't plan to let him go. Starscream was his, whether he liked it or not..

Lost Children Progress Update 17/4/24
It's been a little while since I did one of these. I've been giving small updates here and there, but a big one once in a while is nice, and I enjoy sharing my progress. It's sort of motivating. You know? To look and see, 'Oh wow, I did a lot' or 'wow, I didn't accomplish a lot, but I'm proud of what I did do!' (Some chapters take their time to come together, other the ideas just flow on to the paper).
ANYWAY! You don't care about this. You want to know how long till the next chapter comes out, right????
So, will start with the elephant in the room: Ch.19. It's only 8 pages, which is why, despite the first 3 technically done (anything at 90% is just to digitalise & add text), I haven't uploaded anything.
It's about done. I'm just stuck on page 5 (and two panels of page 4). They're a flashback. A god-damned nightmare of a flashback to draw and... I don't want to do it TT , but for effect and impact, the story needs it >>
Otherwise:
(That should be 20/22 chapters done :P )
Part 1 is coming together swimmingly! With the recent addition of 2 new chapters and, I think, this is as big as part 1 will be getting. I'm finishing off tidying up how I want Part 1 to end at the minute, and then we'll have a small time skip to part 2.
(And maaaaaaybe I'll go back to the start and add an intro chapter to give more info on what the heck happened in the Triple Threat Ending to make Henry think screwing up the timelines and making a new one was a great idea. IDK. Still on the hedge about where to put this info)
Also! The poll I'm running looks like everything in one fic will win, for how it gets uploaded on A03. In two days time once the poll is finished I'll work on implementing those changes (, unless the poll swings back the other way again :P ).
Part 2:
The order of the first 9 chapters, take with a grain of salt. I'm still finalizing the order.
For the most part it's just detailed ideas of what I want to happen in each part + 4 chapters finished, 2 being edited.
'Standing on the Ledge' came out FANTASTIC. I cannot wait to upload that one. Personal favourite of the part so far. 2nd place going to 'Stuck With You'.
And what is that at the bottom? A familiar chapter name! Yes! We're getting back to the Wall. Slowly but surly our characters will be reunited with their frozen prisons, well-
Those who I haven't/ don't kill off~
*eViL lAuGhInG! >:D*
jk.
Or am I?
Anyway,
Part 3:
Part 3 is mostly a butt-ton of editing. It looks like most of the new chapters will land in part 2 (asides from 4), so part 3 will be similar to the original version, but not, given all the minor changes you're about to witness snowball into avalanche sized consequences!
^^;
Anyway, I've edited 4 so far dated them since it's going to be a while till we get to Part 3. That being said, given it's 85%ish editing, it should hopefully just be rapid fire chapter uploading when we do get there :)
I think that's about all I've got to say?
Er... you guys should be aware by now of the 'I'm in uni, chapters are as I have time/wrist able' disclaimer. So...
OH! Also, this is all going up on A03 (once the poll is done), so I can keep the readers over there who don't follow this Tumblr up-to-date with what's going on. So when you see a new chapter update in your inbox, don't get too excited ^^;
And finally, for you.
My dear read.
Who has read through my long waffle and sporadic episodes of evil laughter and fun!
I have an... 'opportunity'
*Snots* I sound like a Mafia boss with Liam Neelson's voice reading this allowed.
I left my colour coding in Part 2 (as I couldn't be bothered to remove it ^^; ), so... will have some fun with this.
Whoever can figure out who's POV are colours blue or green will get a free half or full body drawing of one character (SFW), of their choice (mine, oc, stickmin or another fandom (at my discretion)).
And we'll say... 2 guesses a person (either two on one colour, or one guess for each colour) to make it fair. (It shouldn't be too hard, there's only 12 POV's, and you've met them all but one coming in at Part 3.
OH!
And there will be three winners in total.

maximize our time remaining "but the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer." 1 pet 4:7 "for He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness, because the Lord will make a short work upon the earth." rom 9:28 a short work indeed. even now i am feeling the shortness of the hour. i am sensing the end of a beginning, followed then by a new beginning. whether it be mine alone or an ending for all of us, i do not know. i just sense my dailies might be drawing down and i don't know why, unless their purpose has been fulfilled. i, along with others i'm sure, often feel like i would never shut up. i just get so excited when i start talking about Jesus, sometimes i have to forcibly bring a daily to a conclusion. why? because i believe He's really, really, really, real. i know some do not have that much time for reading, so i try to condense my excitement (to myself at least). the other day i heard some christians discussing the law of exponential growth (essentially doubling). an example given would be a penny doubled everyday for a month would equal over five million dollars. one cent becomes two, two becomes four, four becomes eight, etc. i think the signs of the time are doubling even now as we near the time of jacob's trouble. evil is deceiving more into a deeper darkness, while the Holy Spirit will manifest more glory in His people, drawing in stragglers urgently. all things are maximizing. should we not each be maximizing the time allotted to us? there used to be a show called "to tell the truth." a panel would have to decide among three guests, which one was telling the truth. well, i have listened to many "religions," and i have settled on the One who is telling the truth. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. no one comes to the Father except through Me." john 14:6 that "Father" happens to be the creator of all things. i remember times of weeping on my bathroom floor, trying not to disturb my parents as i diligently sought Him (as an adult, returned home after tramatic times). i remember the excitement of first love as i found Him in my heart. i know the scripture warns us that some have lost their first love, and maybe i have. but just maybe i haven't. you see, my first love has grown into more of a seasoned love. while a first love excitedly embraces discovering every intimate detail of their new love, a more seasoned love settles in the fact of knowing them now; what they truly are. i don't mean they become complacent and assuming, but expecting because one is assured of how the other will respond in any situation. it's kind of like a fruit that has ripened. it is at it's most tasty when consumed immediately. many are now becoming tasty to the Lord and i expect Him to pick us at any moment. i remember reading once how smith wigglesworth demonstrated maturity with a scripture. "for the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head." mark 4:28 that is how all life progresses; from infancy to maturity. if the harvesting is put off too long, the fruit will then begin to spoil. "to everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven." eccl 3:1 our Lord's timing is perfect. Lord, we know who You are, what You are, and how much You love us. we are not complacent and assuming but are expectantly waiting You to fulfill all Your promises. until You hold us in Your arms as You now hold us in Your heart.

Oh boy this is gonna take a hot minute;;
I'm gonna do my best to say a word or two quickly for each so they aren't super long!
These are just quick reaction/reviews for those simply wanting to know "Is this worth my time" or "I wonder how others reacted to this"
I'll also try not to go way too in-depth so ya'll don't have to worry as much about spoilers. ✨
Starting with the Books:
Jim Henson's The Labyrinth: Coronation [The Graphic Novel]
This series was short & fantabulous! The art was really nice, & while at first I was unsure on how I felt about the actual story I eventually decided: yes. I absolutely love this- & I honestly hope the possible live-action remake is more along the lines of Dark Crystal where instead of making Disney's mistakes they base the plot off of this & make it an episodic prequel series with the usual gorgeous Creature Shop work rather than CGI remaking the classic masterpiece that is The Labyrinth.
Kingdom Hearts
Oooh boy... anybody who knows me knows this was inevitable, so I'll try to keep it as brief as I can: I loved Kingdom Hearts. Is that a surprise to anyone? This was much easier to finish & actually process compared to the games for me, & if anything makes me more excited to properly play them on Steam at some point. The art was fun- & it was such an enjoyable & heart touching experience that I'm rereading it so my husband can get into it as well. (We already have an ever-growing folder of screenshots/pics of panels & reaction images from these mangas alone.) Story was more than I expected- speaking of, it did manage to make me cry. ...that should be a surprise to no one, but yes. it made Mickey cry.
I'm actually gonna skip to doing this one next before the others
Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories
This one was. Not as much a favorite as the originals were, I'll be completely honest. The art was still pretty good, story was alright, but it was a tad bit confusing &... lengthier than I personally feel it really needed to be. This one especially felt like it really was meant to just be played as a game. Tedious back-and-forthing with plot & revisited world segments etc- but this is just my opinion!! ^^;; I am interested in this Axel character though, & now that I've started reading Kingdom Hearts II I'm getting more interested in the rest of these worlds & whatever happened with Kairi & Namine.
My Little Pony: Misty's Tale
Okay- so this one is actually a children's "I Can Read!" picture book, but ya'll know ya boi's got special interests a brony. 100% honesty here: still haven't watched the new series. I know, how criminal of me- here come the tomatoes. EVEN SO!! I did enjoy this. It really gave me a feel for who Misty is, & makes me more & more interested in actually trying to give the show a chance. Okay, before the torches & pitchforks are shoved in my face- YES, I did at least watch the new movie. I thought it was cute, & the references made me happy. -I also recognize most of the voices who I thought were wonderful, & the one I didn't recognize I follow online occasionally because not only are they funny, but it looks like they hire mlp fans & independent artists to make Twitch/Discord icons & emojis etc for them.
The Batman Strikes! [In The Clutches of The Penguin, Catwoman Gets Busted by The Batman, & Sanity Plea!]
These were an interesting couple of quick comics that were nice & easy reads! My husband's main special interest is of course Batman, & The Batman [2004 Animated Series] is one of his favorites... so, naturally, we had to grab these when we saw them in the library. As always, I adore the 2004 animated series' art style. I believe I've said all that's needed to be said. They were quick reads that we had a good time taking turns flipping through & pointing out details to each other- although I will say, I was surprised with how much I enjoyed Sanity Plea! compared to Catwoman's story... but it may also be because 2004 animated Joker is the one iteration of him I genuinely like that's not based on family, actor appreciation, or lego-related biase(es). Amazing design, truly.
Batman Adventures: Free Man
Now, THIS is one that had me at a loss for words- & in a good way. I didn't know what to expect with this other than "another quick BatMan read"- but after finishing it I am indeed intrigued by the concept & am curious as to what in the world is going on... Probably needless to say: I will be searching for the rest of these in my free time.
Batman: Reptilian [Warning: A bit long]
Ugh... oh boy... No matter how I tackle this somebody is gonna be disappointed, I'll just say that. It wasn't god-awful, in my personal opinion... but I don't know if it's my favorite Batman content I've consumed either. I actually did like the art; I found in fascinating. The story was interesting, & I was able to handle the "messier" parts of the case & the story... but whether you're cis like my husband, trans like me, find certain content in this comic triggering, or just get a bit squeamish with some topics brought up... it's a bit of an awkward if not genuinely uncomfortable read. It's one of those books that's hard to explain mixed feelings on without giving the entire story away... but let's just say that if you have a sensitive stomach & get light-headed over even cartoony g-re then this may not be for you. This isn't a simple "different take" on Batman, this is...it's hard not to refer to it as a revolting masterpiece of art or sickeningly twisted entertainment- if you dare call it that. This was not entertainment... but it doesn't feel like a cautionary tale either. It didn't quite mess with me, but it did make me feel especially sad for- & slight spoilers here without giving context- Waylon. I didn't have nightmares over this story, but I felt frustrated- frustrated that I did understand how Bruce was written in it & why he seemed, as my husband put it if I'm remembering correctly- "more aggressive" in a way. I was frustrated with how Waylon was treated & that I understood where Bruce was coming from... & I was angry I couldn't help. ...That's it. "Reptilian felt like an episode of Black Mirror based around Jurassic Park" is the best way I can put it.
Kami Garcia & Gabriel Picolo's Teen Titans: Robin
Have I mentioned how much I love Picolo's work & Teen Titans? No? Well, you're gonna know now. ... An average amount. What? Ugh, okay, fine, yeah- I've been following Picolo since his earliest Deviantart days when I was still a kid. -In fact, when I was younger I actually had his oldest works as my wallpapers for years... it just felt like the flames were dancing across my screen & the illustrations were coming to life off the book pages he'd inked them onto. I eventually finally started down my DC appreciating (& eventually loving/obsessed fan) path after I got into Teen Titans. I won't talk about it too much, but to put it simply: "I really really liked Teen Titans: Robin." I liked the art, the story was good (You should really read them from the start though if you're new; you're not gonna get a lick of it) & I was rather pleased with the presence of both Damian Wayne & Dick Grayson in the comic. I act normal about these but let's just say we have a few copies of the other books as well already- & as chill/neutral as I may seem about them compared to my main special interests if anyone dares bring up Teen Titans: Starfire to me they will most likely witness me doing this:
Batman: Wayne Family Adventures [Volumes 1 & 2]
No, we have not been reading the original Webtoon so please don't spoil it for us! We'll continue when we're able, don't worry! Another surprise to no one that we love these so far. They're originally WebToons, so the stories are short enough to get done & over with quickly & leave you wanting more. I love how each character is portrayed & the art style is spectacular. We had a blast reading through these.
Batman: Justice Buster [1, 2, & 3]
I'll be dead-honest with you guys; I saw this & thought it looked awesome but didn't actually expect it to be any good MAN was I glad to be wrong. At first I wasn't sure & just saw it as, yeah, an "anime Batman" that would probably just be a response or even somehow companion to Su1cide Squad Isekai It may still end up being a "We use the manga format/Batman ip to our advantage so we can rank up more reads via Shock-Value™" but even so, I'm actually enjoying it quite a bit. …Alright, I'm putting this way too lightly for the sake of sounding professional- I am a 20+ y/o Tumblr user gushing about manga on the internet- there's no WAY I'm going to be "normal" about this. The art was AMAZING, I am deep into this story & I. need. more. The first one was an interesting opening; kind of a proof of concept to me at first- or like… the perfect pilot episode introducing each character & giving some foreshadowing as the story continues. The second volume had my husband & I scratching our heads, but at this point we were getting caught up in a concept we still knew next to nothing about but were intrigued by. (Not too spoilery, but a huge thanks to the creators for helping explain the multi-verse concepts to newer/less educated on DC lore/s fans & confirming that Batman: Justice Buster is a separate continuity. Mwah mwah, Kisses to you /p) & lastly…ho ho…volume 3. Volume 3 my beloved, you have solidified yourself as possibly one of my favorite mangas ever at this point. The awesome visuals & the PLOT THICKENS! The end of this manga wrecked me, & CJ (my husband) & I need the pages of this final "chapter" as full posters to line our hallway walls. I'm not even joking.
Be More Chill: The Graphic Novel
Pretty well done. I'm not entirely sure what I expected, but it both didn't quite meet my expectations while also far exceeded them flawlessly. This is not some musical about a loser trying to be cool for his girlfriend... if you want more of that type of content go watch A Goofy Movie /srs. I have yet to read the original novel, but I can certainly say that this version of the story takes the situation far more seriously in the best way possible. The musical made me feel every emotion of each character in an honestly beautiful way... but this graphic novel was a toe curler in the best way possible, for sure. Spoilers for both if you don't already know, but in the musical you have that heart breaking scene with Michael in the Bathroom. In the graphic novel he's alone on the ground- you're barely given a glance at the poor kid as he's abandoned by his friend. You see shots of a blurry party while Jeremy runs off with a girl he doesn't really want to be with, & glimpses of certain characters not doing so hot either. There are many moments I was seriously uncomfortable reading through, & they do it phenomenally. Yes. You're supposed to feel disgusted as he treats girls & his best friend like garbage. Yes. Feel miserable as the warning signs are lost in the haze of wanting. Feel that embarrassment & dread over what's been done. Feel everything you only had a sliver of a taste of from the musical. Because the book makes it all-the-more real. This isn't Murder Drones, it's not Heathers, it's not even 13 Reasons Why- The musical felt like an older teen/young adult version of Monster High: 13 Wishes. This novel however makes me spiral with the thoughts & feelings I had playing through Simulacra. This isn't some kid recovering from a cyber war or whatever, this is a warning about society & technology bigger than even the musical was able to put forward on display for us. This wasn't a tragic drama, this was a cautionary tale of our fate if we're not careful.
Sofia the First: The Royal Games
On a totally different note! This was another children's book that goes along with an episode in the original animated series! It was alright, but most of the points would go to the initial writers & character, costume, set etc designers of the episode from the show. The actual book itself was made for kids so I don't mind the simple reading, but what puts my rating of the book itself so low is the art. I don't mind Sofia's style, I love it! ...but it wasn't quite realized to it's full potential here, in my personal opinion. I would have loved to read this if it had a different, more flat/2D style like some of the unique & gorgeous Disney Princess books from my childhood... -but instead, this book had rushed painted backgrounds & what we late amateur/early indie artists seem to call "floating" 3D set pieces. Cute morals, alright story, not my favorite picture book; it was okay.
The Giver: Graphic Novel
I'm starting to phase out & I promise these most likely won't be so long after this; I apologize if these start getting rushed a bit. Beautiful book, astounding film, stellar graphic novel. The art direction is especially what makes this my favorite way to properly process the brilliance that is The Giver.
Batman: the long Halloween
My husband was so excited about this, & I'm stoked to see the film now that I've read it myself. The art was fantastic & the writing was brilliant. I was able to feel the anticipation while also putting together theories of "whoddunit"/who Holiday supposedly was.
Batman's Missions & Ready for Action!
These I can say quickly: cute little reads. Lego books for kids. I was having a bit of a harder time keeping up with one of them because of the lengthier read, personally. I honestly just liked the pictures of the legos minifigs & sets. (The little details of pointing out certain pieces were fun, too.)
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children & Hollow City [The Graphic Novel/s]
Finally almost done! These were beautiful graphic novels I thoroughly enjoyed reading. A bit sad that there doesn't seem to be other graphic novels, but they've made me more interested in reading the rest of the series. The movie is enjoyable as well, but yes, these are different & more accurate to the books. (Also easier & quicker to process than the original novels)
Gotham After Midnight
THIS beautiful BEAST of literature is now most likely my favorite piece of Batman media out there- or at the very least it's in the top 3-5. The cape's movement, the length of the ears & the design of the cowl... the dialogue that grips me into the plot, & the mystery that must be solved...for Gotham!!! Another one I was able to piece together over time, but even so... man, that ending still stings so good. I need this made into a perfectly animated film or a short live action lengthy episodic series with Jim Henson. Just imagine Midnight with the vibes of The Mad Hatter meets Haunted Mansion but brought to life by the company that gave us The Muppets Christmas Carol & the Dark Crystal... The lines & colors; the vibe, the mood- the entire experience screams The Jim Henson Company... what I believe they could do. It was another moment where I caught myself, once again, nearly sputtering "woah, Tim Burton could do something like that- wait." oops On that note, if some madman/lh wanted it in stopmotion & similar to both then I'd like to remind people of some more talented & ingenious minds... Laika.
Marvel Disney Kingdoms: Seekers of the Weird, Figment, & The Haunted Mansion
Ohhh, these will be the end of me, I tell you! ^I say this with a fist of rage to the sky but the biggest smile on my face.
Allow me to preface this with a reminder: I adore graphic novels, comics, manga, etc... but Disney, especially Disney Theme Parks, Attractions, & Resorts.... oh, they are my highest special interest. Thank goodness for my beliefs & supporting family for who knows how badly I'd have lost it by now over Disney- especially with where it's gotten to now... blasted multi-million corporations!/hj
Starting with Seekers of the Weird: it certainly was. weird. Intrigued by the concept of a Disney attraction that never was I approached this with a VERY open mind. The art was good, story alright, but it was the concept I liked the most. Still enjoyable nevertheless & worth the read if you're a die-hard fan like me. The Haunted Mansion is what started this nonsense & led me to discover all of the wonderful Disney Park Graphic Novel joys I had nearly missed out on- I swear, I must have known of these at some point from Offhand Disney or someone I follow somewhere. I had the biggest grin on my face as I read through this book. These are a dream come true, & a total shame they seem to have been cancelled... I would have loved something like this for other rides as well... Matterhorn, Everest, Kali River Rapids- even for Mary Oceaneer & Mystic Manor. ...Is it clear I'm on my knees, begging for a Disney S.E.A. graphic novel/series yet? ...But Figment... of course.... our beloved Figment is the GOAT here. I'm still going to read the others, fret not! ...but man, if I die knowing I at least read Figment. I can die satisfied. I swear, these comics changed me. It felt like reliving my first days in Epcot, or even California Adventure as a kid again... it felt like how I always wanted to feel when playing Epic Mickey. Figment actually got me crying, man. Beautiful series. Please, at least read these if you're a Disney Parks enthusiast like me & wanna give these books a go.
Almost there......
Watersnakes
Man, I'll be honest- this one made my stomach hurt. This was stunning- I'd even almost say bewitching; but as I said with Reptilian, a lot of these types of...topics? tropes? honestly unsure how to put this... The illustrations were lovely... & graphic. It was a fascinating read, & by the end of it I decided "yes, I think I like this." On that note though, I still have personal mixed feelings due to some of the content, but that's mostly "just a me thing". artistic & intriguing, but at times a bit unnerving... but I think that was the point. [Imagine a wink there, I guess haha]
The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys
𝕃𝕆𝕆𝕂 𝔸𝕃𝕀𝕍𝔼, 𝕊𝕌ℕ𝕊ℍ𝕀ℕ𝔼. I wasn't sure how to feel entirely when I started- I probably should have watched through the Danger Days music videos first before reading, huh? As I continued through though I did find myself more & more invested. All I could say was it felt like The Last of Us meets Borderlands or Detroit Become Human meets Fallout. Fun read.
Is...is that it?
Am I finally..FREE?-
oh, no. Nope, we've still got
The Movies & Anime
3, 2, 1 let's jam-
A Monster in Paris
Underrated family-friendly film that CJ & I adored. I already knew La Siene so I was singing along while CJ was puttering about wanting to cosplay Francœur. I will do my best to make this dream a reality someday.
Sofia the First: Once Upon A Princess
Already seen this one! Basically the pilot episode for the series. Cute movie, good plot, Cedric is iconic, Cinderella made me cry, yadda yadda Do not start the series without watching this. Lovely little film!
The Super Mario Bros. Movie
Mario! At long last... I CAN WATCH YOU NOW- /j ref
Fun family movie filled with nostalgia! ...Unfortunately, I only ever really played & liked The Super Mario Galaxy games & only really loved Super Paper Mario personally, so it was fun watching people get hyped & adorable watching my husband all excited over references I barely understood since I never got to play Mario64 I still haven't watched GameGrumps' playthroughs. I really liked the animation & designs; you truly get to see Illumination at their best here. My one main gripe is still more of a personal thing & not really a gripe, but I'm not big on tropes where the protag gets beat up &/or forces the audience to experience second-hand embarrassment... ...but that's what Illumination is brilliant at taking advantage of. Secret Life of Pets pulling a Woody(Toy Story) on us, Gru doing his best to be a better father- better man- for his family, & here Mario is at his weakest point but he never gives up. He pushes through for others, & that's inspiring. Even when we're at our weakest points, we're stronger than we'll ever know, & we're not alone.
Spy x Family [Vol 3]
This one's a bit more spoileryish I already knew about Yor's brother, but man;; I didn't know it was THAT bad. Excellent art & writing, fun family shenanigans- loved Anya, & I MUST see where they go with the dog.
Your Name
UGGHGHGHGHHG MY BONES
I've been waiting to read, watch, & review this one for literal years now. Man, this movie honestly hits different after coming out as trans. We seriously expected it to be an overrated movie about two long-distance lovers with meh personalities, but instead we were BAWLING over an exceptional story with exquisite animation, entertaining voicing, & really great music. It's not A Silent Voice, but we were both in tears at the end of it. Loved it.
Belle
I nearly forgot to add this one 'til I double checked LikeWise & I could feel the sting in my eyes trying to keep back the tears just thinking about it. Yeah, yeah; modern Beauty & the Beast remake wishes it were Dear Evan Hansen like a wannabe musical of A Silent Voice- SHUSH! Everyone's welcome to have their own opinions. ...Mine are that this movie was phenomenal with stellar voice acting in both Japanese & English & the masterfully done writing for both the film itself & the music brought not only me to tears but my husband as well. While we both sat huffin' & puffin' through light sobs as she sang, I said: "I think I found the next anime film I want a physical copy of..." & my husband surprised me with: "THE DVD? Honey, I need this soundtrack on VINYL."
OKAY- we're done!
Next on the list I'm reading Marvel Disney Kingdoms: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Vanitas no Carte/The Case Study of Vanitas, & re-reading The Promised Neverland Volume 1.
At some point we'll be reading Justice Buster Volume 4, Wayne Family Adventures 3, Teen Titans: Starfire, & attempting to finish Kingdom Hearts II.
Eventually I plan to tackle Pandora Hearts, Higurashi, Scott Pilgrim, Into the Pit, & restarting & finishing Lore Olympus.
Have a great week, everyone!
Hiya Pals, It's Mickey!
To put this short & quick: I'm starting a challenge!
Others are welcome to join in on this in their own ways if they'd like
Basically, I will be attempting to read every manga if not also every graphic novel my library has. Yes, the actual library. I will be using the tag #CharlizChallenge or #CharlizChallenge[enter year here] (You'll be able to keep track of posts easier that way.) "What on Earth does that mean?" ^I will also be attempting to say at least one thing about each manga/book I read. I may also do a (most likely short & quick or lengthy & ramble-y) review on different movies & shows I watch over time.
Ya'll are welcome to keep up with whatever I'm reading/watching at the time via LikeWise & MyAnimeList.
I'll try & review whatever the heck I've already done since first going to this specific library.
No, I'm not covering every media/content I've consumed, but if I mention something- even something I've already partially reviewed-that you want me to cover more of feel free to let me know in the comments!
I will leave warnings & those "Read More" border/page breakers if the content in whatever's being reviewed could be triggering/too explicit for younger/sensitive eyes.
Please take care of yourselves out there, & good luck if you try to do the same challenge!
Keep in mind: some might find this a lot easier than others as certain libraries- bigger or smaller- may have a shorter collection of manga & graphic novels. -The one I used to have nearby, for example, only had Tokyo Ghoul, Tokyo ESP, Deadman Wonderland, & Alice in the Country of Hearts while the one I initially grew up in I doubt had any manga (at the time, to my knowledge) at all.

Animaniacs Season 3 Predictions
So season 3's segment titles leaked. Based on info that we have about all three seasons, I have a some predictions about a few of them! I'll try not to make the predictions too basic like "Mad Mouse Furry Road will be a parody Mad Max Fury Road" or "Planet Warner will be a segment about the Warners", etc. I'll try to guess what exactly might happen in some of them-specific plot details.
Spoilers(?) ahead!
Santamaniacs : This is most likely a Christmas special (nice-I was hoping they'd do one) about the Warners. Based on the pun it seems like the Warners, for whatever reason, will help/take the place of Santa. At the very least Santa will probably appear. Perhaps the Warner's will act as Santa's elves, or maybe even "reindeer", maybe leading to a joke about them being part reindeer or something, like Wakko's "5% salamander" line.
How The Brain Thieved Christmas Two-Parter : In some recent interviews (or a podcast or panel) Rob and Maurice have mentioned an episode where Pinky apparently gets really mad at Brain. Given this segment is a two-parter (not to mention possibly the first PatB two-parter in the reboot-unless "Groundmouse Day" is), something significant must happen to justify that, so perhaps these are the segments in which that happens! It does seem to be a Grinch parody after all. (also OMG another Pinky and the Brain Christmas special, how exciting!)
Teeniacs : Teen/older Warners?! I'm not sure how they'd suddenly age, but I'm eager to see official designs of the Warners as older teenagers.
Soda-Pressed : There's a gag in season 1 where Dot straight up spoils some of season 2, like "My Sweet and Sour Sixteen" and "Wakkiver's Twist", but she also mentions an episode where the Warners "drink too much coffee". That didn't happen. Perhaps it was pushed to season 3? Yeah the title is a pun involving soda, not coffee, but perhaps it was re-written so they don't accidently encourage kids to drink coffee?
Lawn in Sixty Seconds : OK, so this is a bit of a stretch, but you know how the Warners don't have a lawn? And neither do Pinky and the Brain? Well who does that leave for this segment to be about? Well, you could argue Starbox and Cindy, but their segment titles tend to follow a naming convention (or at least have one of their names in the title), which this title doesn't; but you know who also has a lawn?
I'm just saying, there's a rumour going 'round that a certain squirrel is in season 3-perhaps this will be a segment about how she mows her lawn? Then again, they do place the Warners in random locations for their segments all the time, so who knows?
Season 3 and Wb : This one I'm confident about, it obviously must be a follow-up to "23 and WB". It's probably the first segment of the season, barring a possible cold open.
Ready Warner One Two-Parter : Season 1 was going to have Freakzoid cameo that was scrapped because Paul Rugg was busy, however, recently Paul Rugg (the voice of Freakzoid) revealed that he is involved in season 3, so perhaps that cameo is finally gonna happen. It does seem like the segment will be a parody of "Ready Player One", a movie (before someone tries to tell me, yes I know it was based on a book) which has a lot of crossover cameos, so it would be fitting. Not to mention it's another two-parter, so it's not hard to imagine something really exciting would happen, and if there's actual stakes getting a superhero involved makes sense. Also, if she's not getting a full segment, perhaps Slappy might make a cameo here (or maybe she gets a cameo AND a segment or two, that would be cool).
Season 3 could be the best season yet, even if these predictions are wrong I'm excited to see these!

Shigaraki
First impression: Oh lord. I didn't know what to think but I was immediately drawn to his design and his hair and his red shoes LOL. He became my favorite like....immediately. I thought "Oh, he's super bratty. And uhhh really immature. There's gotta be something there that we don't know about. And what's with those hands. Weird."
Impression now: I'm in love and if he doesn't get the ending I want him to have then I'll consider pretty much the entirety of BNHA a complete fucking waste. I'm not worried about that though. My impression now is more like, it's insane how deep, detailed, layered, and carefully handled this character is by the author. It's crazy how easy it is to tell that his arc is literally what drives the story, and delivers the story's themes and messages without question (through the actions of the main character). I'm just, very very impressed with Shigaraki as a character overall. And he took the top spot for my favorite character of all time. Which is impressive because Kanda Yuu from D.Gray-Man held that spot since I was FIFTEEN YEARS OLD. So, good job Horikoshi.
Favorite moment: Uhhhh do I have to pick just one 😭😭😭. Well, his speech during the war arc. His speech lays out every issue on the table brought up within the story since chapter one. This panel specifically that I’ve used in metas so many times:
Idea for a story: I mean I guess any AU where him and Izuku meet under different circumstances but still on opposing forces. I typically like seeing those ideas.
Unpopular opinion: I don't know what's unpopular and not with him tbh. Same with Twice, on one side of the fandom my opinions are hated. On the other, where I tend to stay, they're agreed with mostly. I guess one opinion I seem to hold that most people don't agree with is:
Kind of the same thing I said with Toga. While I definitely believe the LOV all view their group as their home and the only place they belong at this point, I don't think the LOV ever replaced the Shimuras for Shigaraki (same with the Todorokis for Touya). Like, yes found family if that's how people want to view them. But the LOV definitely didn't fill that hole in his heart left by his family when they died (the dream scape from chapter 270 pretty much shows this). I think Shigaraki needs more than to just stick with the LOV forever and never branch out. And I really DO think, that based on the writing and the type of story BNHA is, that Shigaraki's endgame is going to be having a bigger found family with the LOV and the few hero kids who will impact his life (namely Bakugo and Midoriya and Ochacko, and Toga too).
Favorite relationship: Midoriya, definitely. Kind of the same thing I said about Toga here: "I love when a character like....keeps an eye on, or observes another character, and the character being watched isn't really aware of this fact. And I love when the unsuspecting character starts to realize this and something special blooms from there. I also love that there's just such a big gaping hole in their understanding of one another and that it's ultimately going to close and bring them together in the end. I love it." With Midoriya there's a lot of subtle & unsubtle build-up between them that hasn't been addressed yet. And I think in the upcoming chapters it's all going to come out in a dramatic way. I think it's gonna be emotional and, overall, a sweet, heart-felt thing that forms between the two of them.
Favorite headcanon: He's the type of person to get excited and energetic about things. He's adventurous and wants to try new things and experience new things. He's extroverted and wants to be around people he loves and cares about as much as he possibly can, and share experiences with those people.
#i have strong feelings about shigaraki obviously lol#bnha#shigaraki tomura#boku no hero academia#shimura tenko#bnha asks#anonymous

Memories - lrh (Chapter Thirteen)
Memories (also on Wattpad)
Chapter Twelve ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ Chapter Fourteen
I position myself in the center of the panel, making the 104th pose that morning. Brandon guides me from one shot to the next, making everything easier.
Six makeups. Six hairstyles. Six changes of clothes, even though the focus was on my face. Why did I get into this?
The photo shoot was for a cosmetics brand, for which I was the cover girl. It wasn't a 7-headed bug, as I had been thinking all night, which resulted in an irritating insomnia. And even though I arrived shy and lost, when I saw my look all produced, I felt like a great hottie, which gave me the confidence to go to that studio and rock.
I was having fun, as Leah advised me. I threw my hair, made faces and danced. I shifted my attention between Brandon's camera and my cell phone, where Nico, one of the helpers, was filming behind the scenes and stirring up my social medias.
It's fun, but after the fourth change of clothes, I was exhausted. After all, that spotlight doesn't leave me and the light gets too hot.
“For you.” Nico hands me a pink lilies bouquet. I open a smile, confused.
The team that was with me today, the agency, the brand and my parents had already sent me some bouquets earlier today, congratulating me and celebrating my return to the fashion world. So whose would it be?
I hunt for the card, opening it in a rush. Nico rested his head on my shoulder, wanting to read along with me. The handwriting didn't make me doubt, they were Luke's.
“To make your day more beautiful.
Congratulations on your return.
Love, Hemmo.”
I open a smile completely shaken by that. I burst out laughing when I see under his name “and the rest of 5sos” written in a different hand.
I ask Nico to take a picture of me with the flowers and send it to him, who quickly responds with a Petunia figure with heart eyes. I know I need to drop the bouquet and go back to the photos, but it feels so difficult.
Finally, I leave the flowers to the dressing room and I focus myself. Brandon praises my goofy smile and begs me to keep it up.
I knew everyone wanted to come today and watch the photo shoot, but I begged so hard not to. If without anyone I was already terrified of, seeing everyone there, staring at me, I wouldn't leave the dressing room.
[...]
Leah and Kiki were at my house, getting ready for Ashton's birthday, and of course, to gossip. They were both super curious to know how my first shoot was and how I was feeling.
besides telling about work, I comment about Luke's flowers and, finally, I tell about yesterday's dreams that still haven't left my head, taking root in my mind, blooming when I least expect it and leaving me out of breath.
“Oh, you naughty one!” Hastings tosses me the pillow. "Are you going to tell him?" she sits up in bed.
“No! How do I tell this?” I question, not understanding.
“Luke, I remembered when we were like two pervert rabbits and we were always having sex in the corners. Simple.” Kiki shrugs, going back to making up her eyes.
“Kiki!" I reprimand her. I hide my face, laughing embarrassed. "We weren't like that…I think…were we?" I look quickly at both of them.
Kiki looks at Leah, holding back her laughter. The brunette stares at me in disbelief. Oh my God, we were! It takes time to sink in, because with Stephen, I avoided sex at all costs. It was so cold and awkward, that most of the time I was bruised and, in all cases, unfulfilled.
I remember the touch of the dream and how it felt so soft and intense, and so good. However, I still find it hard for me to have been so turned on that I started having sex everywhere.
“Are you sure?” I ask suspiciously.
"Oh, honey! I will have to tell you about my dad's birthday, have I?" Leah hugs me, making Kiki laugh.
"What about your father's birthday?" the same way I was feared of Luke when he started telling me about the day I threw up at his feet, I get with Leah.
“Well, it was my dad's 50th birthday. A big, big party and of course I invited all of you. We had just got back from Milan, you were away from Luke for a couple of weeks, so you’re kinda getting crazy by missing him.
"Make it crazy." Kiki comments.
“The plan was for us to arrive in the morning, you'd have time to see each other, and then in the evening we would go to the party. But our flight was delayed and you didn't have that time. So you decided to open the bathroom.” Leah gives a fake smile.
I took a few seconds to understand, and then I widen my eyes, wanting to sink into the ground. I can't believe we did this.
“Calm down! She didn’t told the best part”. Kiki leaves the bathroom, joining us.
“Oh, that's cool, is there a better part?” I look at them both desperately.
"Of course, there is a best part. Leah escorting you guys out of the bathroom" Kiki throws herself on the bed, laughing. “Oh God! Your faces were the best.”
“Was after that our friendship beat all the limits and you know, we got really close.” Leah smiles to me.
What was my problem? Oh Lord, I never, ever, in my all life, thought I'd give one of those. If anyone asked me, who would be most likely to do this, I would definitely say Leah, Kiki, and even Bethany, but I would never say my name.
What did Luke do to me?!
I look at my friends, shocked. They both start laughing, amused by my reaction. A few seconds later, I give up, starting to laugh too.
"Is there any other similar situation that I should know about?" I inquire with fear.
"Yes, but we don't have time right now." Kiki gets up from the bed, slapping my foot, asking me to get ready.
We turned on the music and continued to get ready. Leah goes down to the kitchen, returning with three beers. The subject changes and we start to gossip.
After hours of producing us, I come down wearing my silver sequin jacket, finding Leah with another beer in her hand.
“Well? Good? Great?” I take a stroll, showing off the leather pants and black tank top that valued my tattoo.
"I definitely would ask for your number!" she replies, making me smile.
"Do you think people will like it? I mean, isn’t that much?” I stop in a few poses while she watches me.
“Rephrase the question.” she leans against the table. I stare at her without understanding. “What you want to know is whether Luke will like it." I open my mouth a few times.
“Perhaps.” I answer softly. Hastings snorts, hiding her face.
“You two should pay for my therapy. Because it's not easy to take it.” she takes a deep breath.
I give a guilty smile. I head to the bar, grabbing a shot of tequila and flipping it quickly. I would find Luke in a few minutes and I still don't know how to face him. I close my eyes, letting the alcohol burn my throat and warm my body, along with the memories. The flashes come back to my mind, clear as water. I can hear the girls' voices again, telling them about Mr. Hastings' 50th birthday.
“Let's go?” Kiki's scream brings me back. Standing near the door, they wait for me to down another shot of tequila before we go.
Along the way, we took several photos, already moving our social medias. At the door of the restaurant, the swarm of paparazzi was already in place and as soon as we got off the car, they surrounded us. Hands and arms linked, the three of us entered, being saved by the huge walls that didn't let them see anything that happened inside.
We went to the back of the restaurant, in a more reserved space, where a long table took up half the back wall. Right away I spot Luke, laughing as he chats with Jack and another guy I don't recognize. I analyze your look, social pants and a black t-shirt.
How can someone look so beautiful, so simple?
I swallow hard when he notices our approach and looks directly at me. I look away, unable to hold on; the images screamed in my mind.
Irwin approaches, already quite excited, trying to hug the three of us at the same time. When Leah and Kiki go to greet the other guests, I calmly hug my best friend, congratulating him once more.
“Make yourself comfortable and behave” he leaves a kiss on my forehead, going to welcome other guests who have just arrived.
I turn in time to see Hemmings approaching, one glass in his hand and the other in his pants pocket. How? I hold my breath, giving a terrified smile. He opens his smile even more.
“Hey!” he says excitedly, close enough for me to hear. Those lips… what have they done… I close my eyes quickly, shutting my mind.
“Hey!” I answer awkwardly.
“How are you doing?” he hugged me, pressing a kiss to the corner of my mouth. I close my eyes again, feeling it radiate with amazing speed throughout my body. I let out a breath in a sigh. I manage to catch his eyes as he walks away, hiding a more mischievous smile.
“Well!” my cheeks catch fire and the jacket starts to bother me. "Thanks for the flowers earlier today." I thank, while Luke leads me to the bar. His hand firmly on my waist reminds me of that hotel room. I bite my lip, holding back the urge to bang my head on the counter. "A shot of tequila." I ask desperately.
Luke raises his eyebrows in surprise but says nothing. I turn it over without a single thought, asking for another one, just in case. The heat that spreads through my body is the result of three doses ingested. I take off my jacket and, through the bar mirrors, I see Luke shamelessly sweep my body.
“It was nothing!” he says after clearing his throat. "I'm glad you liked it. So, how was your first shoot?” he leans his elbow on the counter, propping his head on his hand, visually interested.
The effect of the alcohol starts to kick in, and so I feel lighter in his presence, not bothering with the memories between the two of us, nor the fanciful situations that my mind starts to create. I tell about the rehearsal and how fun it really was to do it. In the middle of the answer, I get enthusiastic, telling everything in minute detail. Luke looks at me smiling and interested, without interrupting me.
“I’m sorry!” I cover my eyes, laughing. “I'm talking too much.”
A few more people had already arrived, but the two of us were still there, sitting at the bar. The most interesting thing was, everyone who arrived didn't dare come here and interrupt us.
“No! I love hearing you talk.” he smiles before taking another sip of gin. I lower my gaze, totally ashamed.
"I think we'd better go sit down." I comment, seeing everyone settling into their chairs.
“Let's go?” he offers his hand, helping me off the stool. I hold into his arm, walking to the table. "Should I keep an eye on you today?" he laughs. I repress the urge to say yes, but that's not the answer to his question.
“No! I won't drink that much.” I press my lips together in a thin line, embarrassed by Ash's party.
We sat next to each other, with Calum and Noah in front of us. Luke leans his arm on the back of my chair and I'm not shy about getting close to him, even with everyone in our group staring at us curiously. We embarked on a lively conversation with everyone around us.
Michael rushes in and apologizes for being late, taking his seat next to Hemmings.
"Was she with her?" I hear Luke ask, taking my full attention.
“Yep!” Mike gives a shy smile.
“Who she?” I almost walk through the body of the australian beside me, wanting to get close to Mike.
“Nobody special.” he shrugs.
“Yeah! Go for it.” Hemmo lets go, laughing. Michael slaps him on the head.
“It's nobody special. Just a friend. I swear!" he closes the matter, but he doesn't convince me.
"I can't believe you didn't tell me about it." I whisper, complaining to the blonde at my side.
“Sorry, there was no time. Also, I didn't even know it could lead to anything.” he shrugs. I stare Luke, waiting him to continue, but he is easily distracted by the napkin holder. I slap his head like Mike. “Ouch! What was it?” he looks at me shocked.
“Tell me!” Luke turns to face me, rolling his eyes.
“Her name is Sophie. They met at a Fortnite stream. She beat him and he went to congratulate her on the match, so they started talking and apparently it’s hitting something.” Luke shrugs, finishing the story.
“This is so cute. I hope it works!” I see Michael laughing over Luke's shoulder. “Is she pretty?” I question.
“This is a dangerous question.” I look back at him, confused. "Is there a chance you slap me?" I laugh.
"No." I don't get why I would hit him for finding someone pretty.
“She is pretty!" I hit him. “Hey! You said I wouldn't be hitten.” he accuses me.
“Sorry, it's just funny.” I defend myself by laughing. Luke turns forward, annoyed. I wrap my arm around his, which were on the table and come closer, placing a kiss on his cheek. "Are you going to be mad at me?" I question laughing.
"And I can do it?" he turns to me. His eyes drop to my lips and mine to yours. It would be a perfect time for a kiss, but I don't feel comfortable with all these looks on us.
Hemmo seems to understand my internal battle and just leaves a kiss on my forehead. I open a grateful smile and once again guide my attention to the conversation between Noah and Brian.
After a couple of hours of eating and drinking. We started to spread out through space, forming several conversation circles. I was having a blast with everyone. We sing, dance and record videos that we'll definitely regret later.
After starting to eat, I stopped drinking alcohol, after all, trauma still reigns inside me. So I wouldn't feel like the only sober one at the party, Hemmings decided to join me, stopping drinking too.
Relieved, of course, is the word to describe this night with him. I thought it would be hard to look at it with everything I remembered, but it was so light and fun, I admit I freaked out over nothing. As usual!
All through dinner, I try not to pay too much attention to everyone's eyes on us. We simply could not do anything that someone just needed to die of love. Luke was amused, while I just wanted to sink into the ground.
Yes, I may have had a clue as to how much I feel about Luke, but I still want to take it easy. I want to be sure, and for that, I need to stop being afraid. I know he's been realizing how I've changed and I'm letting him get closer and closer.
Our kisses, touches and smiles. Everything is falling into place and the fact that he doesn't put pressure on me helps me a lot. I already totally trust him, it just makes stronger.
Considering it was easy to stay close to him, without letting the shame take me, I didn't pull him away for a second, because most of the time he pulled me along and I liked that. I like being close to him.
“One round. Just one round.” Jack pleads, hands clasped under his chest.
“No! I've had too much today.” Luke denies it again, making his friend fake a dramatic cry.
"You drank when you arrived. A beer and a shot of gin. That's nothing.”
“I'll drive later and I'm keeping Marnie company.” he squeezes me tighter to his chest.
"Can't you drink?" Jack looks at me confused.
“Of course I can, I just don't want to, you know, make a scene. Or something like that.” I shrug. Jack rolls his eyes, turning back to Luke.
“One round.” he begs, making me laugh.
The boys were preparing a round of Answer or Drink with 10 different types of drink. So, they played and still got drunk.
“No!” Luke responds with a laugh.
For a few seconds, I leave the two of them arguing and go to the table to get my coat. With the lack of alcohol, I start to feel the cold of the air conditioning. On my way to the table, a voice stops me.
“Look what a wonderful surprise.” I turn quickly, feeling all the blood freeze through my body. "What a coincidence, isn't it?" I watch his smirk, knowing what his presence there would do.
“What are you doing here, Stephen?” I take a breath deep, controlling the urge to fly at him. Just like I did with Pam.
It's the first time we've seen each other since the diary report and I couldn't feel more disgust and loathing.
“It's a public place, Lizzie, and don't worry, I didn't come chasing you. I'm with friends.” he points to a table. “I just came to say hello.”
“Don't call me Lizzie, you know I hate it and why don't you take your fake education and stick it in your…”
“What are you doing here?” Luke walks past me, coming face to face with Stephen. "I already told you to stay away from her."
Soon, all the boys approach, ready to intervene. I grab his arm, trying to keep him close to me.
“Let him.” I beg, not wanting it to explode in the middle of the restaurant.
“Calm down, Hemmings.” the name comes out acid and full of poison. “I just came to say hello to Lizzie.” he laughs, hands in his pockets. "Don't worry, I'm not kissing her."
I close my eyes, feeling that hit both of us. That's low, very low. Luke steps forward, taking me with him. Noah and Jack are already starting to put their hands between them. Ash, Mike and Calum begin to put their hands on their friend's shoulders, pulling him along.
“Do not worry. I'm not going to spend my time punching him. But I'll just say one thing, Stephen.” he uses the same acid tone to say his name. "In case you're still dumb enough not to understand. It’s over! What you and Marnie had is over! So stop coming after her, because she doesn't want anything to do with you. She is with me.”
His tone of voice and body postureme impress. I've never seen Luke like this, so nervous, holding back so he doesn't explode, the veins in his neck bulging, proving how much he's controlling himself. I tighten your arm more tightly around my body. I bring my hand down until it's entwined with his, deceptively hoping that it will calm him down and bring him back to me.
“Funny. Cause from what I heard, you guys broke up, didn't you? What? You couldn’t stood the cheat?” he laughs, like he's made a great joke.
I don't know if he intended to hit Luke again, but without realizing it the words hit me. My blood boils and the words written in my diary take shape in my mind. Damn imagination.
I let go of my hand, putting myself in front of Stephen, who takes a step back. His gaze, full of curiosity and mockery, fixes on me.
“That’s enough, Stephen! I don't care about you. Pretend I never called you, just like I was before the accident and disappear from my life. I know you cheated on me and I don't want this torment in my life anymore. Go away.” I let go of everything contained, trying not to fly off his neck.
"Are you really going to believe their bullshit?" Stephen crosses his arms.
“Nobody had to tell me. I remembered." I see his eyes lose their mocking sparkle and he lose confidence. It's a lie, but he don't need to know. “There are at least twenty people here and they all want to hit you, including me, who wouldn't mind breaking my cast on your head. So if you don't want to get out of here on a stretcher, get out!”
I take a step back, feeling my heart pound and trying my best to keep myself from crying. Luke's agitated breath pulses against my spine. I lean against him, feeling his hand intertwine with mine, squeezing it delicately. Amazing how I feel safer, just with that touch.
Stephen passes his eyes around everyone and walks away without saying anything else. When his body pulls away, I release all the air I didn't even know I was holding. The boys start telling us to go back to the table.
I turn, pulling Luke, who is still standing there, facing my ex, who is sitting at the table with a group of friends. He turns around, pulling me easily into his arms. His hands tighten around my waist and I feel him exhale against my neck, giving me goose bumps. I stroke the back of his neck, trying to calm him down and show him that everything is fine.
We walked back to the table, striving for the mood from before. Ashton orders his birthday cake and we ourselves lull into the music, excited, mocking Irwin. While we devoured the cake, no one broaches the subject and I thanks for that. I know Hemmings and I will probably talk about it, but I don't want to involve the guys in this.
Gossip reigns at the table again. The entire group is engaged in conversation about the most disastrous trips ever made, minus the blonde and me. I watch him with his jaw still set and his gaze filled with rage, fixed directly on Stephen, who is across the room, staring at me.
It's a cycle: Luke stares at Stephen, who stares at me, while I stare at Luke.
I feel terrible for making him go through all of this. My amnesia, our breakup, my ex's return. Lucas doesn't deserve any of this. I need to reward him, but how?
“Hey!” I whisper, resting my chin on his bicep, but he doesn't hear me. "I want to leave, will you take me?" I question, hoping to gain any sign of him.
He looks at me nonchalantly, then blinks back to reality. Luke stares at the bleached on the other side, wanting to see if he's still trying something. I drop a small kiss on his shoulder, gaining his attention again.
“Of course! Let's go?” I nod, getting up.
Nobody is opposed to our leaving, I believe as much because of what happened as because it was the two of us. We walked across the room hand in hand, and with me clutching his arm, just to make sure he didn't fly into someone.
But I need to remember that Luke is just as classy as I am. Not just for the fame or the spectacle it would be, but because he was brought up that way. Educated not to go into violence, even if there was someone on the other side who deserved to be slapped.
I'm scared by the frantic flashes that start to pop when they notice the two of us. I cling closer to Luke, who makes room for his car. The delay for the questions to start is just for them to reason that it was the two of us there, together, after announcing our break up.
I keep my head down, focused on his thumb moving up and down, stroking my skin. Luke opens the car door and I settle in, still feeling the flashbulbs burst above us.
With great difficulty, we got out of that sea of people. We remained silent until we reached the intersection of the main lane that led to my house.
“Do you want to go home?” he asks, softly.
I can't identify any feelings in your voice. He is neutral, indifferent. Apart from the isolated fact, this night has been amazing and I don't want it to end, not in this mood.
“No!” I turn in the seat, facing him. "Isn't there anywhere I'd love to go? Or that we both went a lot?” for the first time, I see a glint run through his eyes.
“Yeah! In fact, there are two.” he cracks a smile, causing me to smile too.
Luke takes the other path, heading to some place I couldn't even imagine. The subject comes up between us and so the mood softens. As we talk, I list a number of places I've always liked in Los Angeles, wanting to guess where it would take me.
We turn onto Wilshire Boulevard and I guess where we're going. Hemmo parks his car near the Urban Light and I look forward to getting out of the car.
Before we exit the vehicle, he pulls two caps from the glove compartment, giving me a dark gray one. I look at that accessory, wondering if it was always mine, if we always wore it when we went out.
“Why am I not impressed that this would be the first place?” I question, holding his hand.
By the time, the sculpture was a little empty, with only a few couples taking pictures. Luke and I went unnoticed, walking between those huge poles.
We walked around, with me admiring those lighted poles. I've always liked this sculpture, I've always found it romantic because so many people are proposed here, and I love the lighting.
“Oh no!” I push Luke, finding your phone pointed at me.
"This one got blurry." he laments, pointing again.
“Luke!” I exclaim laughing. I try not to scream so as not to draw attention to both of us.
“Sorry about my behavior at the restaurant.” Hemmings says after a while, surprising me. I lean against a pole, watching him.
“Why are you apologizing?” I frown. Luke leans against the same post, shrugging.
"I didn't mean to spoil your night." he answers.
“You didn't! If there is one responsible, it is him! Stephen knows he shouldn't have shown up there.” I comfort him.
His blue eyes meet mine. I take a step toward him, standing on tiptoe, reaching for his lips, leaving a simple kiss there. Without pulling away completely, I see a goofy smile appear on his face, which also appears on mine.
"What's our second place?" I whisper, next to him.
“My bed.” he lets go.
“Lucas!” I push him away, laughing again. His laugh is contagious. If he knew about the memories…
“Just kidding." Uh-hm… "Ready to get full of sand?" he asks, holding out his hand.
“Always!” I grabbed, leaning my head on his arm as we made our way to the car.

December 24th (contd.)
Suddenly it felt as if the world was spinning very, very rapidly around them. They felt dizzy, nauseous. Just when bearing everything was becoming too much, a chilly air went past them.
They slowly opened their eyes. And the sight in front of them had them holding their breath without their knowledge.
A huge medieval mansion, covered in snow, appeared before them. It was majestic, beautiful and warm.
They looked around. As far as the eye could see, No other house was visible.
Is this the place they were supposed to reach? Or did something go wrong?
Pooja and Alex looked around in utter awe. Both due to the mansion and the wonder if they had been teleported to 19th century London.
"There you are!" A deep, humble, feminine voice called out.
Turning around they saw a young girl either approaching 20 or in her very early 20s coming out from the mansion towards them. She wore a medieval red gown, the upper half of which was covered by a shawl, and only the lower half with minute patterns of red silk was visible.
Not knowing what else to do, Pooja and Alex, too started walking through the snow towards her.
After a few minutes, they stood face to face. The girl had a small, faint smile, but her eyes expressed the happiness she felt on meeting her visitors.
She bowed slightly.
"I am Eleanor Waverley."
"You both must be Pooja and Alexandra!"
Confused, both of them bowed similarly as Eleanor had. Confirming her words, Pooja spoke, "Yes! I am Pooja, and she" She pointed towards Alex, " is Alexandra."
"Great! Oh! I haven't even invited you in. Please follow me."
"This is our house, The Braidwood Manor."
Eleanor added as she opened the brown panelled glass door and led them in.
The interiors of the Manor gave a majestic vibe. A huge golden chandelier with 7 ornate lamps hung down from the high ceiling. The floor had decorated tiles of various shades of orange and brown.
On entering, Pooja and Alex were mesmerized with the beautiful inside. It also provided them with the warmth which they were craving since the time they teleported to the Victorian Era of Britain.
When the two were taking in all the details, Eleanor's voice jolted them out of their thoughts.
"From the time Mrs Ainsworth informed us that some guests were going to join us for Christmas, we were excited. Especially my sister and my little brother." A smile lightened up her face as Eleanor gazed gratefully at her guests.
"I thank you from the bottom of my heart for joining us this year. I promise you will not regret anything about all this. We rarely have visitors on Christmas. Your presence is like a light in our dark, solitary winter nights. Thank you, thank you very much!"
A little tear slipped down her eye as the smile remained still on her face, signifying her happiness.
Pooja stepped forward.
"Eleanor, It is not you but us who should be thankful. Thank you for letting us celebrate this Christmas with you. Maybe, finally, my best friend—" She pointed towards Alex "—will warm up to the idea of holidays. We are very excited for the celebrations"
She finished with a smile as Alex joined her. Alex's face, too, bore a smile, but it didn't quite crinkle the corners of her eye. It was a pleasantry.
"We are excited too! Let me introduce you to my famil- Oh!" Eleanor abruptly stopped. "I nearly forgot! Let me first show you your rooms. And-"
She seemed awkward, as if searching for words. She looked down at their dresses.
And Alex, understanding what she was trying to signify, relieved her from her awkwardness.
"Eleanor, I guess it has something to do with our dresses, right?"
Not knowing what to say, She nodded her head slightly.
Pooja said, "Ohh Yes! Eleanor, please help us with them?"
Eleanor was relieved for not having to say it herself. She was pleased with their intuition and understanding nature.
"Please follow me. I will provide you with everything."
She led the two of them up the Grand stairs to their rooms. As the two slowly took in their surroundings, Eleanor came and provided them both with a beautiful Victorian gown. Pooja's was teal and white, while Alex's was hunter green and Congo red.
Once ready and all decked up, Eleanor took them for introductions.
The three of them entered the dining area of the Manor, and slowly the big family of three young children and their parents came into view, seated on the dining table, behind which, the wall bore an intricately decorated mural and a magnificent fireplace along with some painting of the family.
The sound of the footsteps caused five heads to turn their way, each accompanied by a gentle smile and warmth in their eyes. Each, except one. The boy's face did turn towards them, but it remained hostile and indifferent.
"Seems like he doesn't prefer our company"
"Mmm-hmm. It's okay, We are just here for a day"
Pooja and Alex went up to the friendly members who had now got up from their chairs and stood to welcome them.
Eleanor, went to the elder lady, and spoke to her, "Mum, they are our guests for Christmas." She went up to Pooja. "This is Pooja" and then to Alex "and this is Alexandra"
Her mother stepped forward and the two girls bowed like they had seen Eleanor do when she met them. She was pleased and warmly welcomed them.
"Ahh! So happy to have two golden girls joining us. I am Rose Waverley." She kindly gestured them to get seated at the table along with everyone else.
Once everyone settled down, Eleanor finished up the rest of the introductions. Her father William Waverley, her sister Clarissa Waverley and her two brothers, Thomas and Simon.
After chatting a bit more, they finally delved into the Celebration plans.
"My dears, we haven't started putting the decorations yet, because I very strongly believe that decorations are a very essential part of igniting the holiday spirit." Mrs. Waverley informed.
Alex nearly scoffed at the 'Holiday Spirit' but realizing the circumstances they were in, she stopped herself.
Holiday spirit, ugh! Why Poo Why?
But Pooja was genuinely excited. She always wanted to visit a Victorian house and celebrate Holidays the Victorian way.
And all this? It felt like a dream come true.
She excitedly said, "Very True, Mrs. Waverley! And please don't worry! We will help in every way we can."
"Great then! We can start working then. Ellie, and our guests can put up the decorations, while Clarissa helps me in the kitchen. Thomas can put up everyone's stockings, and two more for our guests, at the fireplace, while Simon and Dad finish the book they were reading."
Everyone happily nodded and went on to carry out their assigned jobs.
Pooja, Alex and Eleanor, headed towards the Parlour. It was grand.
Two huge bay windows brought in the faint light of the exteriors. By one of the window, an elegant piano sat peacefully and on the other side was a large, comfortable couch, perfect for family seating.
And just beside the couch, was a beautiful, delicately manicured, fir tree stood as the symbolism of the Festivals.
Pooja and Alex were so immersed in viewing everything that they didn't notice that Eleanor was not there with them. They realized the same when she came with a huge box in her hand.
"Here are the decorations that are to be placed"
She set down the box that she was carrying. It was filled to the rim with glass ornaments, crackers, lights, red paper strips and various other decors of tin and leather.
"But I am really confused about which pieces to put up and which to skip out?"
Eleanor sighed, staring at the plethora of ornaments.
Pooja nudged Alex, "Don't worry! When Alexandra Walton is here, nothing can go wrong!"
What in the world? Poo has lost her mind. Oh, No!! Now what?
"Uh... Huh. Ya, I mean, sure. I will help."
"Help, Lex? Nah. You will lead, we will follow."
Eleanor let out a gentle chortle as Pooja continued to tease Alex. She was in awe of both of their friendships.
Suddenly she remembered that soon, very soon, they will take their leave.
She sighed as she thought. Even though they had come in her life for an hour or so at most, it felt like they knew each other since forever.
"Eleanor?" She was brought back to the Braidwood Manor by the sublimely worried voice of Pooja. She looked at them to see both the girls looking at her with a concerned look.
"Eleanor? Is everything alright? If there is any trouble troubling you, you can share it. We will help any way we can!" Pooja and Alex assured.
"No! No worries, as such. Just..." A pause. "I have never had anyone like both of you in my life. Although my family is loving, and I will forever be grateful for them, but... I have, never had friends like you both are."
"Oh, Ellie!" Pooja calling her by her nickname caught her off guard for a moment, but she soon got her grip and smiled at her. "You are our friend. Good friend,"
"Great friend" Alex inserted.
"No matter, we are here tomorrow or not, you will always be our friend,"
"Always?" Eleanor sought for a confirmation.
"Always." The two assured while placing a hand on Ellie's shoulder. Their hearts were full of the feelings of a freshly sprouted planting of friendship.
"Oh-kay! So let's start creating a masterpiece out of this tree, shall we?" Pooja shot an excited look towards her friends.
"Yaa, Happy Holidays." Alex groaned and rolled her eyes.
"Alexandra, you won't regret it! Let's get going!"
"If you say so." Alex gave her a tiny smile. She was not the one to turn down a good friend.
"And, it's Alex" she added as the three went up to look through the ornament.
Time passed, like a gushing stream flowing down a rocky hill, as the three meticulously put each glass ornament, each cracker and the fairy lights, one by one, with extreme care and perfection.
Pooja was hyped, Eleanor excited, and Alex, very strangely, was Happy.
Was it because of the company, or had she finally begun to enjoy holidays? That will forever remain a mystery.
But will it be so bad to see Alexandra Walton opening up to the idea of festivals? Not a mince!
An unknown number of hours later, they were finally done. They stepped back to admire their handiwork.
And didn't it reflect their hard work!
Each delicately placed ornament, each strand of fairy light, each funfilled cracker made the tree look heavenly.
Their placements complemented each other and their collaboration was splendid.
If they weren't friends made for each other, who were?
As Pooja, Alex and Ellie stood admiring the bejewelled fir, a soft aroma filled the room. It was then they realized, how hungry they had been! As soon as the thoughts crossed their mind, Clarissa came into the parlour. The power of telepathy!
"The food had been served! Mom invited you all to the dining room." She almost left when her eyes fell on the tree.
"Woooow! This is so pretty! Mom and Dad will be so happy."
She went to where Pooja and Alex stood.
"Thank you soo much for this. I have never seen our tree looking soo beautiful! You two are angels."
The little girl's happiness reflected in her eyes.
Alex lightly placed her hand on her shoulder. "We enjoyed decorating it too! But you should thank your sister first. Without her, this wouldn't have been able to do it so perfectly."
Clarissa went to her sister and gave her a big hug. "You know you're the best Eleanor. You're the best big sister."
Eleanor shed a tear as she hugged her little sister back. "You are precious too, Clarissa! You, Thomas, Simon, you all are!"
After staying in the hug for a bit longer, Clarissa escorted them to the dining room. As soon as they entered, the delicious aroma of several lavish and extravagant delicacies overpowered their senses. Their mouths watered.
At the table, they say a perfectly roasted stuffed turkey sat at the centre. Mashed potatoes, gravy and vegetables were placed in sparkly silver. There was cranberry sauce. Oysters, Yorkshire Pudding and tender Chicken looked delightful.
"Please take a seat my dears" Mrs Waverley urged as she placed two decorative plates in front of them along with all the additional pieces of cutlery.
"This is a traditional English Christmas Feast. Enjoy yourselves!" She said as she whole-heartedly served her guests.
After they finished the huge servings of the main course, dessert was served. A beautifully made Christmas pudding and a piece of fruitcake.
If not before, Alex had definitely melted by now. As she finished the last crumb of the delicacies served, she thought to herself, "Maybe Holidays aren't so bad. Food, Friends, Happiness. I don't think I could ask for more."
What a growth!
After the dinner, as Pooja went to see the Christmas tree one last time, she heard a soft melody touching her ears, which came from the Parlour. As Pooja went in, she saw the silhouette of a boy playing the Grand Piano. As she went in, she realized that it was Thomas.
Without disturbing him, she stood a little closer. Thomas must have realized that someone was there. He abruptly turned back.
"What are you doing here?"
"I remembered a tune that I learnt some while ago. Is it okay if I play?" Pooja enquired.
"Fine. Go On."
Thomas remained Stoic, but he was definitely intrigued.
Pooja slowly took a seat at the piano. She played the gentle notes of a Parlour music tune she had picked up from Alekhya. Thomas closed his head as he lightly swayed his head with the soft tune.
Once finished, He looked up to Pooja at awe.
"Where did he you learn that from? That was melodious!"
Not answering his question, Pooja offered, "Do want to learn it?"
Thomas let out an excited Yes. And the duo spent the rest of the evening teaching each other tunes and talking a bit here & there.
All this while Alex went to Simon. The little boy was so excited to see her. Mr Waverley left him with her as he went to have a stroll.
Simon sat on her lap and Alex, told him colourful stories, of fairies, of dragons and even of the future. Her storytelling won his heart and his demands for One More! never diminished.
At last, as he fell in a sweet slumber, the long evening of stories ended.
A little while later, Pooja came searching her. She told her about her evening with Thomas and Alex softly told about how she spent her evening with Little Simon.
As they chatted, they did not take notice of Mr Waverley coming back in the room. When he slowly called for Simon, that's when they got aware of his presence.
As Alex handed Simon back to him and the two took their leave, Mr Waverley stopped them. They turned to see the man having a smile of gratitude on his lightly wrinkled face.
"I can not thank the both of you enough for coming here today. Our Christmas, Holidays have always been just the family. My kids always wanted to have someone over for the occasion, but living in a solitary area like this didn't make it easy for people to come over. Having you here, I can undoubtedly say that this was the Best Christmas Eve we have ever had!"
At his words, both Pooja and Alex had tiny droplets at the corner of their eyes. They thanked him and chatted with him for a little while before finally retiring for the night.
December 25th
The Christmas morning began when Eleanor came waking the two sleepyheads and asking them to come and see the gifts they had received.
They got dressed and as they entered the Parlour, were greeted with excited squeals and heartfelt laughter, that rubbed away any reminiscences of sleep that remained.
They saw the family opening their gifts and the floor all covered with handkerchiefs, pieces of jewellery, board games books, mufflers, embroidered suspenders and even larger articles like a theatrophone and a dishwasher.
Pooja and Alex too got sweets, nuts, little handmade trinkets, jewellery, reading books, watch case and scarves.
The unique article that Pooja got was a vintage board game while for Alex it was an Indian work humidor.
Both of them also received a box of home-made cookies each. Everything was too precious for them, the bonding that they had formed with this happy family was all they needed for a great time.
A lot of talks, food and smiles later, all of them dressed up for the Church.
However, Pooja and Alex realized they didn't have much time left. They asked Eleanor about the time.
It was still early. Perhaps they would be able to listen to the carols before they had to take their leave.
"Ellie, I don't think we will be able to stay for longer. We will get to hear the carols but, we don't much time left."
"Can't you stay here with us?" Eleanor said as sadness spread over her features.
"We are sorry Eleanor, but there are some circumstances not in our hand. When time comes, one has to bid Adieu! But the feeling is definitely mutual." Alex softly replied.
Their heart broke at the thought that they would never be able to see each other again. But what is the use of denying the inevitable.
Eleanor was one determined girl. She wouldn't let them miss the carols!
"You came this time, you will come again. You know the right person who can bring you back. Promise me, Promise me you will come back!" Eleanor requested.
Then it dawned upon them. If the lady brought them here once, she could bring them back again!
Happily, they promised, "Promise."
And with that, the three hurried down to join the family on their way to the Church.
Carol singers and musicians played and sang the five melodious and popular carols of the era. Beginning their performance with O Come all ye Faithful, and the symphony continued with Once in Royal David’s City, moving on to See Amid the Winters Snow, O Little Town of Bethlehem.
At last came the majestic music of Away in a Manger.
Each of the performance was a musical gem, and if they could, they would have recorded each of the pieces and take them with them.
But just as the ending notes of the Carol began playing, Pooja and Alex, started feeling slightly light-headed.
Their time, here, was coming to an end.
Quietly whispering their hurried goodbyes, they picked the bag of their gifts.
As they went last notes of the Carols faded, they faded from the 19th century with the pieces of love they had garnered from the Era of Victoria.
Only one thought crossed their mind as their senses finally gave out.
This was a Christmas well spent.
PS: Lots of hearty thank yous to you for reading💖! I hope you have a great day ahead💖, and wishing you a Very Merry Christmas is Advance🎄!

SNK Meta Part 2: Ymir
In my previous post, I talked about my feelings regarding Historia's character this final arc. Now I'm going to talk about Ymir, her relationship with Historia, and my feelings about her send-off.
Was Ymir a good character?
In my eyes, yes. When she was first introduced, it was clear that she had feelings for Historia, making her one of the only canon queer characters in the series (assuming Historia reciprocated those feelings, which I'm pretty sure she did). She also appeared very snarky and cynical, but us readers came to learn later on that there was a much softer, sensitive side to her deep down that Historia would be the first to witness. These revelations, including her backstory, helped flesh out her character in a way that made her very interesting and mysterious for me. I especially loved how sharp and intuitive she was. I'm going to quote the wiki on this part, because I think it does a great job explaining her impressive observant abilities. "Ymir was extremely perceptive and could discern the nature of the people around her with alarming accuracy, such as Historia's martyrdom mentality, Reiner's split personality disorder, and Sasha Blouse's desire to look good in front of her peers by hiding her native accent and developing an extremely formal way of speaking. Due to her experiences and belief in self-pride, she tended to rudely criticize people for being untrue to themselves. Furthermore, Ymir was very reasonable, as she knew what to do during her kidnapping situation and reconsidered her options to accomplish her goals." I also enjoyed her interactions with other characters besides Historia. Take Connie, for example. When he lamented over the possibility of his mother being stuck as a mindless titan, Ymir tried to distract him, albeit not in the most appropriate way (ch. 38).
Connie complained about this behavior later on, but Historia defended her, explaining that she was only trying to stray his thoughts from that traumatic discovery. There were a few more moments between these two that were fun to see as well.
😂😂😂. Ymir's looking at him like, "You ruined it, Connie..."
I love the way she pats him on the head. Knowing how much taller Connie's gotten I don't think she'd be able to do that anymore.
This becomes one of the many times that Connie calls her "ugly" when she's in her titan form. Too bad she couldn't talk very well as a titan or else she probably would have had a smartass remark to throw back at him. It's looking back on scenes like this where I wish we could have gotten more out of these two. You can tell she cared for Connie and I know he also cared in his own way.
We only saw her together with Eren once when Reiner and Bertholdt captured them, but it was very interesting to see their perceptions of each other.
Eren found Ymir to be mysterious and wasn't sure if he could trust her, which isn't surprising considering this was the only time they ever spoke to each other. One detail that he couldn't miss, however, was Ymir's undying determination to protect Historia, a goal they would both come to share later on. Meanwhile, Ymir couldn't trust Eren because she found him to be too reckless and hot-headed.
These were my favorite qualities from Ymir, although to this day I still question the rationality of leaving Historia behind considering the situation she's currently in. Historia herself called her an idiot after reading her goodbye letter. Now that I've covered my reasons for liking Ymir as a character, let's move on to her relationship with Historia.
Ymir and Historia
I've loved these two together since the beginning for their complex and amusing dynamic. On the surface, you had the selfish, confrontational tomboy and the girly, kind and beautiful goddess. But underneath were two young women who were dealt a dirty hand early in their life and lead empty lives as a result until they found each other. Their story arcs throughout the Clash of the Titans arc were beautiful and complimentary, and it's part of the reason why it's actually my favorite story arc in the series. Everything from Ymir seeing through Historia's charade and urging her to live her life with pride to Historia telling Ymir her real name and the two of them fighting side by side in chapter 49 was some of the most empowering moments for me and I will forever cherish those parts of the story.
Ymir's departure
And now the part I've been most excited to talk about! Ymir's glorious, memorable and emotional departure.
Her ending...was not what I expected it to be. She left Historia at the very last second and gave herself away to the enemy because she felt guilty for something that was not her fault. Now as we know, Ymir is selfless at heart and she felt indebted to Reiner and Bertholdt for inadvertently helping her return to her human form after 60 years of wandering the earth as a mindless titan. She also decided that Historia might be safe after all after learning that Eren possessed the coordinate. I understand all of that, but what I don't understand is...well...everything else.
This was Ymir's last real appearance. We see that Ymir has willingly chosen to accompany Reiner and Bertholdt back to Marley to give up her titan powers at the cost of her life. Many people weren't so sure if that was truly the last of her though, because her death was not explicitly confirmed for a long time. We spend the next 33 chapters hoping to get something more, and then this happens...
A glimmer of hope. Finally there's a real chance we'll hear from her again, and it's got a lot of people buzzing with excitement. Sure enough, we finally get to see what's in that letter a few chapters later and are given Ymir's backstory. Here's where the disappointing part comes, though. Ymir makes it clear at the beginning of her letter that she will be dead by the time Historia receives it, meaning that this is the only goodbye they're gonna get. The last time they saw each other, Ymir wasn't even in human form. Instead of a proper goodbye, all we get is a short letter. The anime even tried to fix this by giving us Ymir's backstory earlier, but by doing that, her letter was cut short by a lot. All that was really left was, "Hi babe, sorry I left you like that. Oh well, I'm about to die anyway. Sorry we couldn't get married." And then this happened:
Historia touches Ymir's letter and is suddenly bombarded with visions of Ymir's past, including her chained up and about to be eaten. That is definitely not what happened in the manga and its honestly very confusing to me. How was she able to see all of that just by touching the letter? I get that she has royal blood and was able to access memories when she touched Eren, but Eren is a human who just so happens to possess the founding titan. The letter is just a piece of paper. Also, I'm guessing the last thing Historia saw was Ymir chained up so that there will be no need to bring her up again like Reiner and Porco did in chapter 93. I don't blame the anime team for making that change because I'll be honest, when we saw that one panel of her in her death chamber it felt very out of nowhere and I had a hard time concentrating on the rest of the chapter after that. So here are my main problems with her death:
1. It was off-screen
If I recall correctly, Ymir is the only major character in the series whose death was off-screen. All we got were her final moments, and there wasn't even any dialogue. That part especially bothered me because you can see that Ymir and Porco are looking at each other and Ymir's mouth is slightly open, implying that she's speaking. But what was she saying? You seriously don't mean to tell me that they both just sat there and stared at each other the whole time. She must have had some last words, but for some reason we never got to know what they were. At one point I even thought that Historia and Porco might cross paths at some point and he would be able to give her closure that way but no. No closure, just a last minute goodbye letter and a glimpse of her final moments that I now consider completely useless and unnecessary because we never got more out of it. I mean really, we even got closure and an on-screen death for Marco for crying out loud. Why give him that kind of attention and not Ymir? Not to mention one of the more recent guidebooks. Her character has the diceased sticker and it talks about how she went back to Marley with Reiner and Bert, but that's it. Not even the guidebook makes it clear what happened next. Yeah she died, but did anything else happen before then? That's what I wish we could have gotten more details on like, I don't know....her final words???
2. It was anticlimactic
We didn't get enough focus on Ymir's point of view after leaving Paradis in order for her death to have any kind of lasting emotional impact. As I mentioned above, it just felt out of place and messy. There was nothing memorable about her death either. It was quite simple and boring.
3. It contributed to an ongoing literary issue that has anti-LGBTQ roots
Yep. I'm talking about the infamous Bury Your Gays trope. Now before I go any further, I am not accusing Isayama of being anti-LGBTQ, I'm just shedding some light on something that's been continuously repeated in countless forms of media, not just anime and manga. Truthfully, I hadn't heard about this trope before reading Attack on Titan, but when I did hear about it, it only made Ymir's death even worse for me. I'm not surprised that it exists and I realize that this is a manga where death is inevitable, but keeping both women alive in the end would have certainly been very refreshing. At this point, all I could ask for is that Ymir and Historia get to see each other one last time. Obviously since Ymir is dead it will have to be through other means and I don't care how it's done. It can be in a dream, a vision or through Paths (which I think would work best). Seriously, there's nothing I've been more curious about than how Ymir would react to Hisu's current predicament and what she would say to her. It would just be great for them to have one last conversation face to face because for me, the letter just wasn't enough. Of course I'm hoping for too much, though. We've only got 1-2% of the story remaining, leaving no room for further closure. It's disappointing and frustrating, but no story is perfect. I'm grateful for the content that we did get, but I hope one day I can find a story like this one where the queer characters get to live for once. I'm aware of other shows like Steven Universe, Adventure Time and Yuri on Ice that give them good endings, but those shows are much friendlier towards younger audiences and aren't nearly as dark and grim.
Conclusion
Ymir was a very intriguing character while we had her, but her death was unsatisfactory and only left us with more questions. I am not going to trash Isayama for it, but I will leave this critique here so I can unload all my thoughts for others to read if they wish, or possibly share their own thoughts. We are coming close to the end of the manga, so now would be a great time to reflect on what we read and enjoy what's left of it.
