So for the second Year I have organized the Cyberpunks Meet Up/Photoshoot at Dragon Con. The Engergy was delightful and we nearly increased our attendance by 50%!

I got to meet so many Chooms and see so many amazing costumes, and creative character takes. My only wish is to see more Non Cyberpunk 2077 cosplays next time

Was just fucking around on IDV. Played QM as Joseph, and got a bunch of newer survivors. I needed a win for the quest I was doing so I go after them and...

You know you can buy a sword, right? I've got myself one. You can do it too! I believe in you!

There are a few ways to get it:

Make it yourself out of wood or other material. It will take a lot of time, money and effort and may not look perfect, but it would be a sword

Reach out to the cosplay community and buy a used one or commission one. It will look pretty in photos and made out of wood or plastic or paper mache or eva foam

Reach out to your local HEMA community and buy a new or used one. You may need yo wait a bit for one to be forged though as they are usually made on demand. It is also pricey. But it will be dull, metal and good for whacking people with

Reach out to your local historical reconstruction community. I am not a part of that community and have no idea what you will get, likely historically accurate sharp aluminium sword but maybe smth else

I think the most beautiful thing about writing of Howl and Sophie's pair is that they are written as people before being written as a pair. Let me explain this very quick.

The thing about book Sophie and Howl is that they are not really fully fitting into any "classic" romantic trope. They are not exactly enemies to lovers, as their angry chats are definitely cannot be considered a life or death battle, they are not rivals to lovers because the only aspect of rivalry between them is the cleaningness of Howl's room. They are not friends to lovers, as their relationship just doesn't fit into "friendship" structure at the very start, nor they are roomates (yes, they live in the same house but that's not the core aspect of their relationships). Of course, you can go on and fit the name of the trope you found specifically for them, but that's the thing.

They simply cannot be processed through a pairings lenses only, in order to understand how they act in relationship you need to analyse them separately, as a characters first of all. Cause that's what the book itself does!

Sure, it doesn't have a whole lot of romance instead, but it gives us time to learn and observe the life of incredibly written, alive characters, understand them as personalities first of all, while slowly immersing the dynamic between two characters (in this case, Howl and Sophie) into work. They are written as personalities, both being fully separated and interviewing, changing eachother's point of view.

It's difficult to find a trope for them. They're are not a trope. They are Howl and Sophie, and that's probably the only way their dynamic can be properly described. Just as real people, they are not really fitting into the boxes of linial character progression, but go way deeper into being complex, filled with little differences and moments only people with their personality can have in romantic (or any different) kind of interaction. They're imperfect, and silly, and multidimensional and the reader knows them well enough to imagine them interacting way beyond of what the book says to them.

They are being people before being a ship, a pair of a trope — and that's why they work so perfectly charming in the end.

Howl and Sophie are unique in being themselves.

Here's the neighbour's mailbox. The one he painted himself.

And our mailbox had FOUR spots of peeling paint and jankass edges, not two like his. And yet:

Ours isn't perfect but you can see why I didn't want him to do it.

I've lived in So Many shitty apartments where I was used to fending for myself for repairs, or maintenance, or repainting a mailbox, because the landlord I rented from wouldn't do it. I mean, I've lived on my own in shitty places since 1998; you get used to a certain level of rolling up your sleeves and DIY.

I'm living with my friends here though, in a community that is well-maintained, in a timely fashion. There's a head of condo board that lives Directly Next Door though, and a few weeks ago he said to me that he'd repaint our mailbox if my roommate (whose name is actually on the lease) agreed to it. Having seen HIS OWN mailbox that he painted, I was like "Ergh no. Can't let him touch this one." He spray-painted the BRICKS, behind the mailbox! It looks awful.

Today he was eyeing our mailbox, and it was a nice warm day, so I went out, feeling Maintain-y, and scraped all the loose paint off, sanded it down, and after covering the "No flyers please" sign in masking tape, and putting cardboard behind the mailbox to protect the bricks, sprayed it with primer. It looks Nice. :> Best, he didn't get his own spin on it.

Turns out I didn't need to do that, because the condo board is paying pros to come and do that soon to Everyone's. Oops.

Better use my energy to stick to my own projects. Habits need breaking sometimes. Lol.

Also, note to self to talk to roommates before I feel like doing something to the unit in any way, like painting, or fixing janky doors, or anything else. I HAVE TO REMEMBER THIS ONE.

Hi I need absolutely everyone to know that I was obsessed with Wizard101 as a kid and it was always my childhood dream to own one of the bone dragon mounts, but I wasn't allowed to buy the gacha packs you got it from

So I found out they did a free membership week this past week, AND you can now farm for the mount during an event, AND the event was currently running during the free membership week. So. Guess who spent too much of her time farming a bone dragon mount? THAT'S RIGHT IT'S ME

I have an issue as a switch where me being subby is hard mode so much of the time for whoever is domming. Like, there are plenty of times where I am eager and desperate and submissive. But when I start bratting, it very quickly becomes a situation where I am the domme, especially if my partner in the scene is unprepared.

One of my gf's tried to pin me down thinking she could catch me unawares and have her way with me. It..... failed quickly. And she might have lost the ability to say no. For the past year-ish.
