ATEEZ SMALL PERFUME REVIEW: TOM FORD — FXCKING FABULOUS

disclaimer: this is not meant to be a serious perfume review, this is something fun for me to do as I love perfume. each and every one of us have different tastes and preferences when it comes to fragrances. what works for me might not work for you, vice versa. I’ll try my best to describe the scents but I will always suggest for you to go and smell them yourself before purchase. if you want to try these perfumes, please test or get a sample before committing to the bottle. picture credits to all owners. fragrance family: woody

notes:

top — clary sage, lavender

heart — bitter almond, vanilla, leather, orris accord

base —tonka bean, amber, blonde wood

my scent experience:

the fragrance begins with a warm and aromatic scent from the clary sage. you can smell the bitter almond, and it also has a sweet element to it — kind of reminds me of black orchid but less chocolatey. as it settles, it becomes powdery I’m guessing from the orris accord but I can still smell the clary sage and bitter almond. it's a baby wipe type of powdery which I'm not the biggest fan of. the dry down is warm and bitter with a slight sweetness to it which I actually like initially but it returns to that baby powdery scent that makes me question if I like it or not. this lasted about 5 hours on me which is good but for an expensive perfume, I expected it to last longer.

I couldn't smell the leather in this fragrance which is a shame because that would've elevated this perfume for me. I couldn’t smell the lavender in this either but maybe I've missed it or it's a weaker note in this perfume. to me, this smells like a powdery and bitter version of black orchid, and I already have mixed feelings about that perfume so it's safe to say that I'm not really into it. between the two fragrances, I'd say go with black orchid.

additional notes from me:

I’ve wanted to smell this perfume ever since its launch in late 2017 mainly because of the name. I do have a pet peeve with this name because they sell this with the red line over the first word which annoys me but that’s what happens when you name your perfume “Fucking Fabulous”. This might’ve been the first time it has happened to them, but it certainly wasn’t the last. it's not a horrible perfume but it's nothing revolutionary and if you're gonna name a perfume this, at the very least make it extraordinary. I hate to say this, but this perfume isn't as fabulous as it claimed to be.

who would I recommend this to?

anyone who likes warm yet powdery scents.

those who want a less sweet version of black orchid.

anyone who wants to try out Tom Ford fragrances (private line).
