It's already the 26th in japan and it would've been Nirasawa's 61st birthday and I wanna post some of his undead designs bc I'm bonkers for them. the details!!!
Capricorn Undead might be my favorite kaijin design EVER so far, it's just so cool in a patched together self created kinda trans way that drives me crazy. It's a shame he was taken out so little but I assume that suit must've weighted a million pounds and be extremely top heavy so they probably just parked a suit actor in the grass.
anyway i wish i could see a monster designed by him again.

Yasushi Nirasawa's concept for Godzilla in Godzilla: Final Wars (2004). A much more horrific Godzilla, which was probably vetoed by the powers-that-be because he appears too scary to be the hero.
Still, while it could use some minor tweaks, I like this better than the suit that was used in the film.
