[Mizutama] (polka dot/water drop), by Miki Katoh
This art depicts kukurizaru, monkey shaped charms you can find in Yasaka Koshindo temple in Kyoto.
The kimono look created for this picture is far from my usual tastes but the color/pattern mix is interesting:

There is a small temple located in Higashiyama area in Kyoto, called Yasaka Koshindo Temple Inside, you will see multi-colored kukurizarus everywhere. Kukurizaru is a round, ball shaped talisman made of cloth, representing the good faith monkeys (though I don’t know what that really means). Anyway, worshippers write their wish on it. If you’re visiting Kyoto, do check out this photogenic, instagrammable temple!

Yasaka Koshin-do - Le mini sanctuaire coloré de Kyoto

#lespapillonsaujapon #kyoto #japan #japon #shrines #temples #yasakakoshindo #kiyomizu (à Kiyomizu-dera) https://www.instagram.com/p/BtLDxtsFUw7/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=urvf1828onef

*Full of the colorful dreams* Kyoto,Japan "Koshindo" is the name of buddhist temple in Yasaka are , Kyoto. Actually, these colorful balls are monkeys. People pray their dreams and write down them on the colorful monkeys and tie them on the wall of temple. It's quite cultural and special way to pray. (at Yasaka Koshindo)

They don’t call Kyoto a city of a thousand shrines for no reason. Just before Hokanji, there’s another temple called Yasaka Koshindo, marked by its colourful red temple gate. I’m not sure why, but everytime a bright red or orange gate appears, it stands out so vividly, like a pop of colour in rustic surroundings. #Higashiyama #Kyoto #Japan #Travel #InstagramJapan (at Yasaka Koshindo)
